Christmas dinner preparation

Preparing for Christmas dinner. I told you that in my in-laws' house there are 3 people who prepare the hallacas. Rosa stretches the dough on the banana leaf, Luisa adds the stew, raisins, egg, olives and all the hallaca ingredients, and my mother-in-law closes the hallacas. The people who are around are the ones who tie the hallacas, this year I only tied one hallaca.
We didn't buy ham bread because it cost more than 8 dollars, and we didn't prepare it ourselves because we wouldn't have time to prepare it, so we didn't eat ham bread with Luis' family. But we bought another type of bread, which was also very tasty.
We didn't eat pork leg, because it was also expensive, but my father-in-law made baked chicken, which was very tasty. My sisters-in-law bought 3 chickens and 2 chickens were prepared and put in the oven. The leftover chicken was used for the salad.
Luis and I changed the cake recipe, instead of making Christmas cake, we made carrot cake, which was still very tasty. The Christmas cake is quite expensive to make or buy, it has a lot of ingredients, so we preferred to make the carrot cake, which has less ingredients and is tasty. The chicken salad was made by my sisters-in-law, this year they didn't let me help with almost anything hahaha. The chicken salad has potatoes and carrots. We didn't buy mayonnaise, my sister-in-law Luisa makes a delicious mayonnaise, so she made the mayonnaise for the salad. It's a homemade mayonnaise, but that doesn't mean it's not delicious.
All the food was really delicious. We all got a hallaca, some bread, a portion of salad and plenty of chicken. If anyone wanted another hallaca or more salad they could grab more.
My brother-in-law was in charge of making the drinks, the adults had cuba libre, which is a mix of cola with rum and lemon. Each person identified their glass so we could distinguish them and not get confused. This way we could avoid some kind of contagion.
As always, we thanked God for the food. Daron and Isabella are in charge of thanking God. It is so much fun to see how they give thanks and say words of love and affection before eating. After praying we toasted to a Merry Christmas, gave thanks for all that we have experienced, and toasted to good health.
After dinner we had a family parrandon, this is quite common in Luis' family as they are all musicians. It is a lot of fun this party, since the little kids also start playing with us from a very young age, they usually start playing the drums.
At the family parrandon Luis was playing the cuatro and singing, his dad was playing the electric bass and his brother was playing the drum. All the rest of us were singing, we sang and sang and sang until Santa Claus arrived with the presents, but that will be another story.
Oh, before we went to Luis' parents' house we were arranging our gifts and put them in our little tree. I also made a lot of letters to hand out to everyone, the children were very happy because "Santa Claus" had written them several letters full of love. At the end of each letter I wrote "Hohoho Merry Christmas".

As I told you in the previous article, Luis and I were running to buy gifts for everyone, the best thing is that all the gifts could be bought, except for the baby, but I hope it can be bought soon.
Not only were we running to buy the gifts, we were also running to buy the ingredients for the food. In Venezuela we have a traditional Christmas dish where we eat hallaca, ham bread, chicken salad, pork leg and then we eat Christmas cake. In each region the preparation of the hallaca is different, even in the same family, there are people who add olives and other people who do not, and so with different ingredients or with the preparation of stew, each person does it as they like. I have learned from my family that you have to buy all the ingredients before and make the hallacas days before the 24th, but this year I will spend Christmas with Luis' family and they work differently, they always wait until the last day to buy things. In spite of everything, they had not organized what we were going to have for dinner, so Luis and I had to meet with them and make a list of what was going to be bought, then divide the money so that we all paid in equal parts.
No one could go out and buy things, the only ones who could were Luis, his sister Rosa and me. So we ventured to the market to buy things. The market was full of people and the prices were super expensive, so we had to walk a lot over and over again, until we got the best prices and the food was of good quality. We bought onion, banana leaves, wicker thread, everything, absolutely everything we needed for the food.
I was very afraid, because my sister-in-law is pregnant and as far as we know it is a very risky pregnancy, so I was afraid that someone would hit her, because there were many people and there was not much space to walk around.
This year we changed the tradition a little bit because we did not have enough money. We bought everything we needed for the hallacas, but we didn't buy ham bread, it was expensive, we didn't prepare ham bread, we didn't eat pork leg. But Luis' sisters bought 3 chickens. Two chickens were baked and the remaining chicken was in the salad. In spite of all the inconveniences we were able to buy all the ingredients for the hallacas and the salad which was the most important part of the meal. We were also able to buy soda and rum for a toast.
Luis' family doesn't add potatoes or eggs to hallacas, but my family does, so I suggested adding those ingredients and they liked my suggestion, so this year his hallacas had potatoes and eggs, yummy.
In Luis' family there are 3 people who make the hallacas, one person stretches the dough, another one adds the ingredients and the last one closes the hallaca. Last year it was my turn to bind hallacas with Hernan, but this year there were more people tying hallacas, so I could only tie one hallaca.
In my family my grandmother and my mom do the whole procedure of the hallacas, from stretching the dough, adding the ingredients and closing it, my dad and my brother are dedicated to tie the hallacas.

Hello, hello beloved read.cash people, how have you been? The long awaited Christmas Day is approaching, the Christmas tree must already be in place, waiting just a few days to have presents at your feet, and then watch you uncover them with so much joy.
We have searched everywhere for the things we needed, we walked around Puerto la Cruz, Barcelona and Lechería looking for a good gift, but not one that was not out of our budget, the good news is that we were able to buy all of them and a little bit more...
Isabella asked for a tablet and a Pop It. Her parents were able to buy her the tablet and we bought her the Pop It, I hope she likes it. I had told them it was priced at $5, we looked in many places and the prices ranged from $4 to $10 for the same doll, same size. We didn't give up, we kept looking and found one in a small and hidden store, this Pop It was $3, so we bought it right away. In Caracas they are 2x$5, but they were not going to arrive in time, so we preferred to look for an economic one here.
Besides the Pop It, we bought some Peppa Pig earrings for Isabella, she really likes this cartoon. But a few days ago she told me that she didn't like Peppa Pig anymore, because she was too old to watch it. I can't understand if the day before she was watching it very happily and telling me about the episode, why today she tells me that she doesn't like it anymore, because she is a big girl and she is 7 years old. I thought I understood kids, but I was wrong hahaha. I just hope she still likes Pop It. The Frozen dolls disappeared, we didn't see them anywhere, so she'll only get a Pop It and some tendrils from us.
Daron asked for an xbox. His parents were able to buy it, but the controller came without batteries, so we bought him rechargeable batteries with his charger, this came out to $8, it was the cheapest we saw. His mom told me he was short on socks, so we bought him 3 pairs of socks for $1. I hope he likes his gift, even though he doesn't have any toys hahaha. I wanted to get him another transformer, but I didn't see even one, all the toys were guns, I don't understand why, I searched a lot of places and walked a lot and all the toys were guns, oh no, I'm not getting him that, his family doesn't like this kind of gifts.
The baby, for the baby we bought her some socks that we saw while we were looking for Pop It, this was not yet in the budget, because we didn't know what to get the baby yet. These cute socks cost $2.5.

My sisters-in-law, I didn't manage to buy the wallets I had seen on the internet, but I bought them others, they are also very nice and were cheaper, each one cost $3. Besides the wallets I will give them some earrings.
My brother-in-law's gift is some strings for his electric bass and some cookies. All these days I have been helping him as much as I can. He was recently playing the electric bass and it was going out of tune all the time because his strings are out of date, so it will be a nice gift. We were also going to give him some socks on the 24th, but he had a work party and didn't have any socks, so we gave him the gift early hahaha.
Alejandro, (my sister-in-law Rosa's husband) will get guitar picks and socks, as well as virtual instruments so he can keep recording music.
Hernan, (my sister-in-law Luisa's husband) will get a bag that used to be ours and a pair of socks.
My father-in-law will have a perfume and a pair of socks.
My mother-in-law will have a perfume and a pair of shoes, since the previous ones are very deteriorated.
The gifts this time have been mostly socks because we didn't have much money, but in spite of that we made all our effort to buy them and we also bought cookies for everyone.
From my gift I will also have a pair of socks chosen by me, these are different from the rest, because they are kittens.
Luis will also have a gift, but I can't tell yet....
We also bought gifts for a family that has always helped us, they are the parents of a guitar student. We bought the boy a strap for his guitar, so he can play more comfortably, and we had it identified with his name. We also bought his parents some unicolor shirts, which we also had sublimated with something they like. These gifts cost a total of $22 but they are very important.

December is not only about gifts...
December is a month where we spend a lot of money, it is not a lie. We run from one place to another looking for gifts for the kids, for the uncle, for the cousins, for the grandparents, for everyone. Not only do we go crazy looking for gifts, we also start looking for the necessary ingredients to make the food. We go all over the place looking for the best prices and everything we need.
We have become accustomed to give something to our relatives on the 25th in the early morning, well in my family and Luis' family that happens. We give clothes, toys or any other detail. The important thing is the detail and sharing with the family.

I know I have been going crazy getting a little more money for gifts and I know the title says that December is not only about gifts and that is true. December is a month of family togetherness, it is the month where we should be more united, as the year is ending and a better one is coming.
Even though I have been looking forward to the gifts, Luis and I have also shared a lot with Luis' family, all these days we have been with them. We have gone out with them, we have shared anecdotes and many other things. As I said, December is a month of togetherness, not only of gifts.
I'm a little sad that I won't receive the gifts that are in Spain this year, but I know they will come at some other time. I just have to be patient, although I already want to learn how to draw with the graphic tablet, I can't wait, I've been waiting all year hahaha.
**Why have I been so attentive to the gifts?**
Well... Because I want to see the children happy, I want Isabella and Daron to enjoy Christmas and have several gifts. Earlier I told you that Isabella's house was flooded, so she lost some of her toys and now Daron will have a little brother, as we found out this pregnancy is a bit delicate, so Daron's family has spent a lot of money in the baby's things, Daron only asked for one toy but it is very expensive, however they were able to buy some things, we were able to buy other things that Daron's toy needed, we also bought some things for Isabella. Soon I will post pictures of the gifts and my little Christmas tree. It's not the biggest, but it's very nice, it's my little golden Christmas tree.
**But not only the kids get presents....**
We also wanted to give several things to others, because these years have not been easy for anyone and sometimes we don't even have enough to buy a pair of socks, so we also spent money on Luis' other relatives, like his brothers and sisters and brothers-in-law. Whether it's a cookie or a candy, just the fact that you thought of that person to give him or her a gift is important, that person will feel important because you thought of him or her, despite everything he or she is going through.
**December is not just about presents...**
We have been very close this month, I have enjoyed coloring with Isabella and playing ball with Daron. I have also enjoyed helping my brother-in-law Luis with various things, hanging out with my sisters-in-law, watching Alejandro play guitar and supporting him on social media, sharing with Hernan and most of all hanging out and sharing with my in-laws, from grilling out in the rain to going Christmas shopping or things for their home.
It has been a difficult few months, but we have always tried to keep everything together, to keep the family united, there will always be differences, but the important thing is to continue to be united and to know that you can count on each other and that others know they can count on you.

Grilling in the rain
Hello dear friends of read.cash, welcome one more day to one of my stories. I hope you are well and in very good health. Christmas is coming soon, time flies, I hope you have your gifts ready. I also hope you are sharing with your loved ones.
*Monday, December 20th*
There are days when we make an unexpected meal, so, without planning and despite all the problems that can happen, we try to make it look as good as possible.
A few days ago we were sharing with Luis' family, we go to his parents' house every time we can and spend the afternoons there, talking, helping, accompanying them.
Lately I have been drawing a lot with Luis' niece, her parents are always working, so she spends her time with her grandparents, but they are also busy, so Isabella has no one to play with, so these days I have been drawing a lot with her.
Well, on one of those days, while he was drawing, Luis' dad commented that he wanted to make a barbecue, and Luis told him that we should make one that day. It all started as a joke, but Luis took it seriously. Luis had been wanting to eat barbecue for days, so he wanted to do everything possible to make a good barbecue that day.
In the house were Luis' parents, his brother, Isabella and his brother-in-law Hernán. Nobody had enough money to make a barbecue, but I had some money I had taken out of read.cash to buy food and I had some money left over.
So when the evening came Luis was worried because he didn't see anyone making the grill or going out to buy the necessary things, so he talked to his dad and his dad told him it was a joke, but now Luis wanted to grill and how to get that out of his head. It was raining, it had been raining all afternoon, so it would be difficult to make a firewood grill with the rain, but Luis' dad said that if there was enough money, the rain didn't matter, so we all contributed some money to be able to buy the necessary things.
Before leaving, my father-in-law looked for the driest branches to light the fire before leaving, he looked for the grill and left Hernán in charge of the fire, so that it would not go out.
My father-in-law, Luis and I were leaving to go shopping at a supermarket near the house and before leaving, my brother-in-law gave us a little more money to buy more things, rum and soda, we were only going to buy chicken, some meat and some vegetables, but with that money we could buy other things.
We ran in the rain to the supermarket, luckily it was still open. We looked for everything we needed and also bought food for my in-laws who were missing some things in their pantry. We bought two packages of chicken thighs, some steak, several chorizos (they were super cheap, normally they are expensive), salt, eggs (to make mayonnaise, the eggs that were left we used for the carrot cake), soda, rum, potatoes, carrots and everything we needed for that meal and for the next day's meal.
It took us a long time to pay, there were a lot of people despite the time and the fact that it was still raining. It also took a long time because the money was in two different accounts and we also had some dollars in cash that my brother-in-law gave us.
When we got out of there, we waited for a while for the rain to calm down. Then to run to the house hahaha running carefully because there was a lot of puddle and we could slip, we looked like kids.
We arrived at the house and everyone pitched in to chop things up, make the salad, spicy buns, season the chicken and all that stuff.
We went to the back of the house, where the fire was, the rain could not dampen our desire to eat grill, so my father-in-law started to assemble things, while my brother-in-law handed out some drinks of cuba libre that he prepared, of course, Isabella drank only soda. https://recetas.dia.es/receta/cuba-libre
When the grill was almost ready Luisangela, Luis' older sister arrived and found herself with this super improvised dinner in the rain. It was very funny to see her face, as soon as she arrived they sent her to make the mayonnaise, since she likes it very much, besides that she also made guasacaca.
Everything was ready, I helped Luis' mom to serve the food and to distribute it, everything was delicious. I don't have many pictures because it was all very crazy and improvised, besides I had left my phone at home, that day we were going to be alone for a while, but the rain left us stuck there, but it was good, we had a really delicious and improvised dinner.
By the time we finished eating, it had finished raining, but we stayed a while longer talking, hoping the road wasn't so wet, because it's dangerous. We got to our house around 11pm, really dangerous, but fun haha We don't normally drive at night, even though we have modified the bike a bit, so they can see it better. It has a little more lights on it.

Carrot Cake
Good morning, precious people of read.cash, how are you today? All these days I've been writing, but I haven't posted them because I haven't had internet, so I'll put the dates of the articles at the time I wrote them, until I'm fully updated. I start with this one

**I know you will tell me that it is already Wednesday or Thursday, but this is Sunday's article... Sorry for not being able to upload it on the corresponding day.**
At the beginning of December Luis made his first carrot cake. We had never made one before, usually our cakes are made with chocolate. This year has been a year of new things. In this year I made for the first time a lemon pie and then I made a passion fruit pie; It is the year in which I have written the most and earned money for writing; I went out to buy gifts with my parents and enjoyed their company, for many years we had not gone out like this as a family; It is the first time I bought so many gifts for my mother; For the first time I participated in a big raffle, although I did not win; Luis made for the first time a delicious Ratatoullie; And it is the first time I earned $100 without having to work for 7 to 10 hours a day.
It's a year full of craziness, but also a lot of help. Thanks to everyone who has been with me from the beginning and thanks to the new people who have been commenting and reading my articles.
**First Carrot Cake**
As I told you, we always make chocolate cakes, but since it is a year of changes and new things, we made a carrot cake. It turns out that we have a great friend who has a birthday at the beginning of December, she is not really a friend, she is the mom of a student, but she has become our friend and helps us in any way she can. She is a great person, so we decided to get her something special for her birthday. She eats very healthy, her food is low in fat and sugar, the days she allows herself to eat sweet things is on birthdays. Although she likes sweets a lot, one of her favorite desserts is carrot cake, so we decided to make a carrot cake for her.
We had never made one before, but we loved the result, so much so that we will make a carrot cake again for Christmas.
I don't have pictures of the process or the result, who was making the cake was Luis, I was working on read.cash, but oh oh... An accident happened, Luis had accidentally cut his finger, so I had to leave read.cash for a few hours to help Luis to make the carrot cake.
We were able to make this gift thanks to read.cash, at that time the only money we had was made by me writing articles. So we bought the necessary ingredients because our budget was low.
I didn't make the cake, I just helped Luis with some things. So the exact recipe I don't know, he mixed two different recipes, so I will try to guess a little bit what he did. I will leave the recipes in a link at the end.
Luis had everything measured, he only needed to grate the carrots and start mixing everything, so I took care of that. I washed the carrots and removed the skin, then I grated them.
**The ingredients for the sponge cake in the first recipe are:**
260 g (2 cups) of wheat flour
2 teaspoons of chemical yeast (Royal type)
1 teaspoon of baking soda
1 teaspoon ground Ceylon cinnamon
½ teaspoon ground nutmeg
¼ teaspoon ground allspice
¾ teaspoon salt
400 g (3 cups) grated raw carrots
120 g (1 cup) chopped walnuts
75 g (½ cup) dried cranberries (you can also use raisins, prunes, currants, raisins, sultanas... according to preference)
240 ml (1 cup) of mild olive oil
150 g (¾ cup) white sugar
165 g (¾ cup) brown sugar (if possible, light brown sugar)
4 eggs (L)
2 teaspoons of pure vanilla extract
**As it is a low budget cake we use wheat flour, baking powder, cinnamon powder, salt, grated carrot, oil, powdered sugar and eggs.**
The second recipe says we added sweet pepper and ground cloves. We did not add these things either, we did not have many ingredients.
**The sponge cake**
In a bowl, sift the dry ingredients, i.e. wheat flour, baking powder, cinnamon and salt.
In another bowl, beat the eggs with the sugar at medium-high speed until a slightly dense mixture is obtained. While continuing to beat, add the oil until a homogeneous mixture is obtained. Add the dry ingredients to this mixture and beat by hand until all the ingredients are completely integrated. Then add the grated carrot, mixing again by hand, but this time in an enveloping way.
We grease our cake pan and add a little flour, to prevent the mixture from sticking to the cake pan, we do not have baking paper or removable pans.
We used a 18 cm cake pan but it had to be high, we wanted our cake to be a little high.
We added our mixture in the cake pan and put it in the oven for 30-40 minutes at 180°C.
When the cake was ready, the whole house was impregnated with cake, I love it when that happens with desserts. We let the cake cool completely to room temperature, then unmolded it.
When the cake pan was cooled, we put the cake back in there, wrapped it completely and stored it in the fridge until the next day.
**Decoration of the cake**
In the morning we took the cake out and placed it on a rack to decorate it. The recipes call for Cream Cheese Frosting, but we didn't have enough money to buy cream cheese, so we made a simple topping with powdered sugar.
Our cake turned out simple but tasty. With a small part of the same mixture, we made a super small cake, just to test if it was delicious or if it turned out bad. Well, it was delicious. I do have pictures of the small cake hahaha.
**Note:** If I'm not mistaken, Luis put less sugar than it says in the recipes, he didn't want the cake to be so sweet. We like sweets, but not the cloying ones.
**Note 2:** The birthday girl and her family loved the cake, she was very happy for this detail.
**Note 3:** The cake was fluffy and low in sugar.
**Anecdote:** We don't have a car, we have a motorcycle, and even though we've had it for more than a year, it still scares me a little bit. So I always hug Luis, I never let go of my hands, much less check my phone while we are on the motorcycle, I don't know how many people do that, it seems totally crazy to me. Until Luis parks, I don't let go hahaha. **I tried Ratatouille!!!**
Oh, how delicious it is, well, I really don't know if this is how Ratatouille will taste like, but the one I tried I loved, it was made by Luis. As you know, if you read my articles, my couple's name is Luis, he always makes me delicious meals and when he can he surprises me with a new dish. Luis is a musician, not a chef, but he cooks delicious.
The first week of December (I don't remember the exact day), he surprised me with this delicious dish, he was very quiet, he didn't want to tell me that we were going to have lunch, so I started to draw. When everything was ready he called me and showed me what he had done. He had taken a long time in the kitchen, because, according to his research, the vegetables used in the ratatouille must be baked very well, but as I was very concentrated I did not notice when Luis had left the room and went to the kitchen, what I did notice was that a very delicious smell had reached the room, but I did not want to get distracted.
How wonderful and what a surprise to see what Luis prepared with so much love and effort. The ratatouille was really delicious, I would like to eat ratatouille again... Luis enjoys cooking and I enjoy tasting his delicious food, I am so happy, I am so lucky hahaha.
The next day it was my turn to cook, Luis was busy anFood made by med even though it didn't take me long to cook I did my best, I wanted my food to look tasty and tidy too hahaha I tried to compete against ratatouille. I lost, no, lie, we didn't do a food battle, however I made a delicious meal. Oh, nothing can compare to that delicious taste.
Ah, as you may know, Luis and I are both musicians, so while Luis was cooking he was listening to the soundtrack of the ratatouille movie, we also kept listening to those songs while we were having lunch, it was so much fun.
Honestly I don't like to cook much, I prefer Luis to cook, I like to make desserts more.

I also enjoy cooking next to Luis, when we cook this way it is much better and faster, we divide the work. But we have a "deal" where I make breakfast and dinner and Luis is in charge of lunches, it doesn't always work out, but we try. The world has been constantly changing even though we do not realize it. There are changes that we notice and changes that we cannot perceive. We also change in that way, we change our hairstyle, our way of speaking and changes that no one notices instantly, we change our way of seeing life, our way of expressing ourselves, we learn new things to be better, so many things we do and build every day to be better every day.
In the world we can see small changes every day, the clouds change, the temperature changes, things also change for a while, like the change of the weather seasons, maybe today snow falls somewhere in the world and in a few months the leaves will fall from the trees, there are predictable changes and unexpected changes. Where I live snow doesn't fall, but I would love to one day be in a place where I can watch the snow fall from my window or go for a walk, it must be very cold, but I will endure as much as necessary.
There used to be a big continent called Pangaea, where all the emerged lands of the planet were grouped together. And now we are all very separated, that was not a change that happened in a year or two, it took thousands of years to create the world as it is today, this world that continues to change daily without us realizing it. All points of view are different, especially in art. Each person is different from the other, we all look in a different way, we all think differently. Everyone expresses themselves in their own way and we can express ourselves by making art. We can have different points of view of the same situation.

Perspective is a term that we can relate to art. When we talk about perspective we relate it to painting, where objects are drawn as they are in the real world, or so we try to do. It is our point of view, but not everything is perfect, even though we use perspective we can give "wrong sizes to objects", but because we want to do it that way or it is simply a mistake we make as novices.
I have been studying perspectives to make my drawings better. For a long time I have only drawn characters, not landscapes. When I do landscapes my imagination runs out very fast and there are many things that I don't understand how to do. In Blender I can do them, it's a very good 3d program and easy to use, so I have no problems, but when I try to transfer that to 2d, my brain fails a little hahaha, so I've started to study my weakness and learn new techniques.
I usually draw in digital, it's more "simple", if you make a mistake it's easier to fix. When we draw with pencil and make a lot of mistakes, the drawing can get messy, and we don't want that... There is no way to hit "Ctrl Z" in the real world.
I could have studied digital perspectives, but I preferred to use pencil and paper. I hadn't drawn that way for a long time, so I had a hard time. I know the drawings are not the best, but I tried very hard. I watched a lot of videos and a lot of drawings so I could try to make some "presentable" drawings.
Right now I am only studying single point perspective. Most of the drawings I saw had train tracks in them, so I guess this type of perspective is used to create that kind of scenery. Scenarios where the track, the road or the rails of a train are disappearing in the horizon.
Related to this single point perspective, I also saw a lot of drawings of mountains, that is, the track or rails of the train culminates or disappears from our view and reaches the bottom of a mountain.
I am not saying that all drawings are like this or that it is a rule, but these were the drawings I saw the most. Of all the drawings I saw, most contained either train tracks or mountains, or even both. In my first two drawings I did that because I thought it was the most normal thing to do.
The first drawing, I did along with a video explaining single point perspectives. I only changed some things from the original drawing, I didn't put the same details that the person did in the video. The following drawings were images that I saw on the internet, where I did change several things, I only used those images as guides to not make many mistakes, however, as it is only a practice and I had years without doing exercises of this type, it cost me a lot and I had many mistakes. However, I feel that I made a lot of progress in just one day, maybe if I had started yesterday to make these drawings without having seen several images or tutorials, I would have made a mess.
I repeat again, it has only been a practice, something I had not done for years, I know they are not the best drawings, but I did them with a lot of effort. I want to keep improving to make better quality drawings. I only used a pencil that I had at hand and a recyclable sheet, that's why there are not many details or good shadows, I only concentrated on the perspective. I hope you like my practice drawings and that you are encouraged to do new things that you have always wanted to do, but have not been able to. Find a little space of time to try those things, like learning a new language, reading a book you like. We must start little by little the things that we find difficult to do, we can not pretend to do excellently something we have never done, everything is achieved with practice and patience. I wanted to share this with you, so I tried to do my best.

Why has read.cash become so important to me?
Hi, hi, my friendly read.cash friends I hope you are having a great day. I have been having a good time, but since the afternoon I have had a bit of a cough, but all good. I haven't been out these days, so I didn't get sick on the street. Yesterday I did a little cleaning, so maybe that's it, maybe it was the dust that has made me a little sick. I know I have only recently started on read.cash, but the more I write and publish on this wonderful place, the more I love and feel part of this community. As for many of you, read.cash has become my life's means to generate money, that is, it has become my job. I know that many will think that it is not a stable job, but for me it has been. I had not earned that amount of money for a long time and what I have done is to write daily, to have that as a goal. Before to be able to make that kind of money a month I worked Monday through Friday from 2pm to 7pm at the music academy and then I would give private lessons, many of the private lessons ended at 9pm.
I would get home late and tired, I would just eat, take a bath and go to sleep, I didn't have the strength to stay awake. On Saturdays and Sundays I also had private classes, these were at any time, they could call me at any time and I had to go. I had no free time, in the mornings I was at the university and in the afternoons I had work, I spent my weekends at work and even so, I did not generate this amount of money. At that time it didn't matter so much, my first rent was not expensive and food was not so expensive, with $20 I made a good market for the month and I had a little left to go out and eat out, but when I started living in the second place everything got worse, the rent was very expensive and everything started to increase in price and even if I worked a lot, I couldn't make that amount of money, everything was going to the rent. Now with read.cash I am doing much better, I only dedicate a few hours of my life to this wonderful place when I feel good, so I can answer your wonderful messages, read your articles and write a new article.
With read.cash, I don't have to run from one place to another hoping not to be late and that the class goes well, because if the child didn't want to see classes my time was wasted, instead of being 1 hour and 30 minutes in that house, I could spend a lot of time, up to 3 hours, waiting if the child was going to want classes or not, but sometimes I played with them, of course they didn't pay me for this nor for the extra hours....
**Why did I quit my job as a musician?**
I really didn't want to quit, it was so hard to separate myself from my students... At the academy they owed me a lot of money, the first boss I had didn't want to pay me for 3 months. The boss said "the parents of the students don't want to pay", so I was giving free classes at the academy. Then that person sold the academy and we had a new boss, at the beginning everything was going well, then they started to take away my students, classes and hours. I used to have 300 students. I gave solfeggio and electric bass lessons, with the new boss everything changed, now I only gave piano lessons and I only had 4 students, more was the money I spent on tickets than what they paid me. That didn't matter much to me, I still had the private students, but I didn't have so many to fill those new free hours. In those hours I started to study to improve my piano and electric bass skills.
Before the pandemic started, the new boss stopped paying, saying that the representatives had not paid for the classes. Then the pandemic started and my private students stopped seeing classes, I started to worry... I had to pay for internet to give classes to the students of the academy, the boss asked me for 4 videos a week for the students, I had no internet at home, the boss owed me money and I had to use the money I had saved to pay for the internet. He never paid me, he owed me 4 months of work.... That's when I started to hate music, so I got away from it for a while. I stopped playing for a long time, I felt really bad to see that they didn't value my work and my years of effort... I was giving music lessons with all the love in the world, but I was living badly and eating little. The love I felt for music could not give me enough to eat.
**My new job - project**
I am currently not working, just studying and improving my skills in drawing and 2d and 3d animations.Today I have been looking for many online courses to learn landscaping, both in digital and pencil. I think that even if I improve the people drawings I do, they wouldn't look good if the landscape doesn't match or I don't do it right, so I will be studying how to create good landscapes, so that my character drawings have a good place. All this love of drawing started long before the pandemic, but because I was so busy working I couldn't develop it. When my musical life collapsed with the pandemic, I had a lot of free time to draw, but I don't have the necessary resources to draw better and easier, however I have tried very hard to go from some doodles that are not understood, where the characters had no symmetry to a "kawaii" character. I know it's not the best character in the world, but it's the first one that has turned out very well, I'm going to keep advancing until I achieve it. At the moment I don't have money to pay for courses, so the courses I've done are free and without certificates, but I think I've done well. I want to continue in the world of drawing and animations, and I would love to do a project with Luis, where I do the animations and he does the soundtrack, since he is specializing in that, he has been composing and recording very good songs for a long time, when they are ready and with his label I will publish them with my drawings.
**My new job**
Well... Without further ado, my new job is read.cash, that's why it is so important to me, it has helped me in all this time that has been quite difficult for me. At the beginning I was not very convinced, but when I started to have earnings and positive messages, my ideas changed. Luis is also a musician, so his life as a teacher fell apart when the pandemic started, but he kept in touch with a former student from the United States.
This student wanted to see classes again and record music with Luis. She can't always see lessons, so the payments are once or twice a month, the good thing is that she values Luis' work as a musician and sometimes pays him a little more. So not including this student's payments, we have been able to support ourselves thanks to read.cash, I have paid off some debts and bought delicious food. The year has gone by so fast! I hope you have been doing great. We are in the last month of this year, we have to enjoy it 100%. This year, like every year, good things and bad things happen. Maybe we were out of work one day and we were sad, but then we found a better job, where we met good friends. Good morning, my dear friends of read.cash, how are you on this beautiful day? I have been very well, a little tired from the trip, but everything has been fine. Today is the last day of November, my daily writing challenge for this month is over. I met all my goals for the month:

Earn $10 or $20 in November (I don't remember right now, but I've already passed $80 for this month alone).

Last day of November, a month full of good things and difficult things, challenges that we have set and we have achieved. There are challenges that we have set ourselves that we have not achieved, but it does not matter, tomorrow will be another day and we will do better, let us always continue with joy and energy. The last challenge I set myself was recently, which was to reach $100 before the end of November. The $100 in total in all the time I have been in read.cash, but I didn't reach it, but I will keep on writing, I am very close to meet that challenge. I have earned a lot thanks to you. I have also met very nice people, different desserts, foods and people very different from me that I have liked very much.
Today was a very tiring day, but I kept full of energy, it is the last day of November and I had to enjoy it to the fullest. I walked with my mother from downtown to the terminal, we walked a lot, that made me exhausted. Then I traveled home, luckily I got on a comfortable bus with air conditioning. I slept all the way, there were not many people on the bus, so there was no one banging on my seat. Arriving in Puerto la Cruz I walked from the terminal to the bus stop that passes by my house. There I spent a long time waiting for a bus, but the ride was quiet. I arrived home safe and sound. Luis had a delicious lunch prepared for me. After lunch I started to study, I hope you like the animation I made, it took me a lot of work and time, soon I will upload more of my drawings. I thank God for putting new challenges for me and new learning, I never imagined that I would be drawing or making digital animations.
I thank God for taking care of me all day today and bringing me home safe and sound. From what they started to say there is a new mutation of Covid, we have to take care of ourselves again and trust in God, he is the one who will guide us on our way.

Hello, how are you, my beloved read.cash people?. I hope you are doing very well. I have been very sleepy all day, maybe my mind has relaxed to travel tomorrow without worries.
I have been so sleepy today that it has been very difficult to write, but I have also tried to share as much as possible with my parents. I will be back in December to spend Christmas with them.
No matter what day it is or what time it is, my parents always welcome me with lots of love and always want me to stay a few more days, I can't always do that, but I try to stay as long as possible to make them happy.
Yesterday I forgot to upload photos of some pots I painted and decorated with pretty rocks. So here they are. I hope you like them, I made a lot of effort to get them well painted and their colored stones to look good. My mother will sell them on Friday, I would have loved to join her, but I have to go.
At snack time I was helping my mother make what we call torticas de anís. It is a dough similar to the one we use to make empanadas, but it is sweeter and has anise, they are very tasty, but a little greasy. We had them with coffee, they were delicious.
I shared the evening talking with my father about anything, just like yesterday. We had so many things to tell each other, by the time we realized it was already dark, we had been so distracted that we thought the sun was still down. I am so happy to have spent so much time here.
I also talked a lot with my grandmother, she taught me how to prepare new dishes and told me about when she was little, about the sweets she ate. My grandmother also told me a lot about the family, how she missed seeing them. How tender and sweet my grandmother is, I would love it if she could visit her relatives like she used to.
These days I have played a lot with my old dog. He lives with my parents, his name is Luffy, like the main character of One Piece. My dog is very old, but he still likes to play a lot. Our games are running, he starts running and then I run after him, sometimes I run and he runs after me, we spend a lot of time running all over the house, it's so much fun.
Oh, tomorrow I will travel, I really don't know if I'm ready to leave, I have to go, but I really like it here. Right now I can't think straight because I'm so sleepy, I just know that tomorrow I'm going home no matter what.

Decision Day
Good, good, good, beautiful people of read.cash, how was your day? My days are getting colder and colder. I'm freezing. Help! hahaha
*Sunday, November 28th*
I am at my parents' house, we are in the rainy season, so it gets dark early and in the evenings it is very cold. Where my parents live there is a serious internet problem. The internet does not reach the house well, you have to be outside the house to have internet. In the place where there is signal there is no roof, so I have to be under the sun to be on the internet, in the rainy afternoons or in the very cold nights.
I posted very late, because the best option is in the cold nights, but I think I'm going to freeze at some point. I love the cold, but I can't stand it, I shiver a lot and I didn't bring any sweaters, I just have comfy clothes. So I'm shivering a lot while I'm on read.cash lately.
My parents have always been people who like to work and invent things. Lately my dad has been making cement flower pots to sell. I've been learning how to make them, but I haven't been very good at sales, which has made me a little sad, but I've kept them. My house looks fantastic with so many pots everywhere hahaha.
My parents have been doing really well in sales, so they have continued to create pots. Lately they don't have much time, they are busy, so today I helped them paint, plant and decorate some pots, I know they are few, but it takes me all day because I want them to look nice. My mother today was sewing a pair of pants, she takes advantage of the sunlight to work on the sewing because she can see better that way. She has been making different pants, for her, for me, for my father and for Luis.
They could not paint the pots today and they know that during the week it will be difficult for them, because of work or meetings, so I dedicated today to paint the pots. My mother is going on Friday to sell pots and asked me to go with her, of course I want to go, but I am hesitating.
I should have traveled home on the 25th, but it was my mother's birthday, so I stayed, I couldn't go on the 26th or 27th. Sundays are difficult to go on a trip. I've thought about leaving tomorrow the 29th, but my mother wants me to go with her on Friday, December 3 to sell pots, so she won't go by herself. Oh, I don't know yet what I will do. At the moment I only know that I won't leave tomorrow, I have to think things through. Of course I want to help my parents, but I also want to continue my "normal" life. Here it is really difficult for me to read your articles and comments, you know they are valuable to me. I have only been able to write in the cold nights, but at those times my brain is very frozen.
I love to paint, decorate and help, but I don't know when I will be back. Oh and when I come back, everything in my head will be a mess hahaha because I've gotten used to doing some things in the morning and being on the computer in the afternoon, I usually do the opposite. Here I don't have to worry about a lot of things, there I do, I really don't know what I will do.
The first thing I have to do is to decide when I will leave, I don't want to leave my parents, but I want to return home. I have to know if I will accompany my mother on Friday to sell pots or not. Oh, God, it's so hard to decide, will I leave on Tuesday? I don't know yet, that date is so close but yet so far away, I don't know what to do. I must thaw my mind and decide what will be best.

I am so happy
Hello my dear people of read.cash, how are you today? I am excellent. The last weekend of November has arrived, December is coming soon. The days have gone by so fast, I can't believe it, I have been writing for more than 26 days in a row.
*Friday, November 26th*
Yesterday was my mother's birthday, so we celebrated with several neighbors.
Before all that, I went in the morning to the terminal, as I told you I could not be at the birthday, Luis had to go to work, but in the end, Luis went alone to Puerto la Cruz and I stayed at my parents' house.
After accompanying Luis to the terminal, I went to the work of a friend who gave me some earrings and a cat necklace. I loved them.
In the evening, at my mother's birthday celebration I wore the earrings they gave me and a shirt I love, which Luis gave me for my birthday. I was very happy.
My mom watches a lot of novels, lately she has been watching a lot of foreign novels such as Arabic novels. She has learned several words in Arabic. So she wanted her party to have Arabic food.
My dad likes to cook and please my mom, so he tried his best to make her like the food he would give to the guests. My dad made lots of falafel, chickpea cream, tabbouleh for the Arabic part, but he made other things like eggplant antipasto. My grandmother made pepitonas and my mom made an eggplant cream. We had a lot of eggplants hahaha We bought casabe and bread for the eggplant cream and pepitonas.
We enjoyed the birthday with our relatives and some neighbors. We ate a lot and sang karaoke until dawn.
We sang birthday songs, ate chocolate cake. I forgot to take pictures of the cake, well, I didn't forget, I thought I had already done it.
At the end of the night we got tired, so our relatives and neighbors started to leave little by little. The good thing is that our relatives live nearby. After the birthday was over, we washed all the dishes, silverware, glasses, etc, so that the house would be clean before going to bed.
It was a fantastic day, I hope my mother enjoyed her birthday, because I did. Just as I enjoyed my present.

Welcome my beloved followers and sponsors. How have you been this day? I am excellent. There are still many hours left to continue celebrating.
Today in the early morning we gave my mom the gifts. I gave the sandals and cookies to my grandmother to deliver, to Luis I gave him the perfume and earrings, and to my dad I gave him the shoes. I kept the pins and the sewing scissors hahaha. In Luis' bag was the hair dryer that my mom didn't know we had bought.
My mom was very excited to receive her gifts, even though she accompanied us to buy each one, she pretended to be surprised.
When the gifts were finished I asked her where was the list she made and if she remembered everything she asked for and she said yes.
She asked for pins, perfume, sandals, shoes, the hair dryer and an electric scooter (this was a joke).
But my mother did not remember that she had asked for the hair dryer. I asked her many times what else she had ordered and she couldn't remember. And I told her "if you guess what I have in Luis' bag I will give it to you, if you don't guess I will keep it", after many tries she finally said "a hair dryer", yes mother, you guessed it, after 20 tries hahaha. She didn't expect that gift, she was so happy she started crying. She knows that saving all that amount of money to buy all the gifts had been very difficult, but we didn't only give her material objects, we also walked a lot with her and ate ice cream, as I mentioned to you in the previous article. It is so good to see my mother happy.
In the morning, before breakfast, I played different birthday songs for him, as is customary in my house. She was thrilled. She looked very pretty and was wearing the new shoes and earrings, plus she sprayed on the perfume hahaha.
If you have read my previous posts, you will know that I was not going to be there for his birthday. Luis had to go to work and the most normal thing is for us to travel together. Luis and I decided that I had better stay with my mother for a few more days, he had to leave because he had work. My mother was happy and sad. Happy because I was staying, but sad because Luis was leaving, relax mother, Luis will come soon.
Luis still doesn't know Cumana very well, so I accompanied him to the bus terminal to take the bus to Puerto la Cruz. Before that we walked around a shopping mall and saw several friends who are from here, so we were talking with our friends for a while.
Luis got on the bus and I stayed there alone and sad, I did not want to be without him, it was the first time he left alone, so I was also very worried. On the way to my house I met several friends, so I stayed talking to them, so much so that I arrived about two hours later hahaha.
One friend gave me a delicious coffee and then another friend gave me a necklace. This last friend sells necklaces, lipsticks and clothes, so he decided to give me something, what a wonderful friend. I am not having a birthday today and I received gifts.
Since it took me a long time to get home my mother asked me if I had taken Luis to the Port and then I went back to Cumana hahaha, no mother, I was just with some friends I hadn't seen for years.

Pre Birthday
As you all know, tomorrow is my mother's birthday. Today we went out for a walk with her to buy presents, but she didn't know we had a surprise. Stay with me to find out.

My mother days ago made a list of the gifts she wanted to be given, among those she put things impossible to buy, she did it to joke with us, she really didn't want us to give her the things that were on the list because she knows they are expensive, she was expecting anything simple, but that didn't happen.

I talked to my father and brother to find out how much they could raise. I did the math to figure out the total amount of how much the gifts would come out to. Everyone put in what they could.
My mother went to work early, so that gave me time to change the money from read.cash to bolivars and know exactly where we were going and learn what we were going to buy.
We would meet my mother at 12pm at the place where she was going to buy the shoes. Before going to the place where my mother was, we bought the first gift, the hair dryer. This is the surprise gift, so we kept it in Luis' bag, she wasn't going to find out, we were pretty sure. We paid and went to meet her.
We went to the shoe store and my mother was very in love with some shoes, she immediately measured them and walked them, but she was sorry because she didn't want to spend our money, she didn't know how much we had. We bought those beautiful shoes, she thought it was the first gift and it would be the only one, she wanted to go home so she wouldn't spend any more money. But I told her no, we had to go buy the next gift.
We walked and walked until we got to the place, where she bought pins, thread and a special sewing scissors. She had only asked for the pins, but we gave her the other things. She was very happy, but she was still embarrassed, it seemed like a lot of money.

We thought about buying a $3 one, but there was only $6, we said "ok, we can still buy it", before paying, the employee told us "there are no $6 perfume bottles, only $8"... I had to relax and hold my breath because after so much walking, smelling many fragrances and deciding to pay $6, which is double what we had thought, they told me that it was $8. I was going to say no, until I saw my mother's happy face, she had years without wearing perfume, so I had to think and think, we decided to buy it, that money comes and goes, money increases and decreases. Seeing my mother happy is all that mattered to me.
Ready gifts or so my mother thought. We kept walking that mall looking for some sandals she wanted, she asked for 1 pair, we bought her 2 pairs. After that when she went to the bathroom I took advantage and bought her some earrings and cookies, so there were more surprise gifts hahaha.
To end the day at the mall, she was so happy that she gave us some ice cream and then we took many pictures in the mall. It had been many years since we went out as a family and took pictures, my mother had a lot of fun.
Our dinner was delicious shawarmas prepared by my father and Luis. My mother was super happy, of course within the budget was included the price of the food.

Let's start from the beginning... Yesterday was musician's day, I know that, congratulations to my super friend who is a musician @rebeysa, I hope you had a great time on your day. Yesterday I wanted to make a post about it and I made some beautiful drawings, but I didn't have time to finish them. Today I traveled to my parents house and I brought all the projects on the laptop, but... I didn't remember that I can't export the images from the laptop, I can only draw, so... My real post today I'll post it when I'm in Puerto La Cruz hahaha.
**The trip**
Oh no, I really don't know what to think of the trip. As I told you in my previous article, I take out more cash than I need in case the fare goes up, and it did. The fare only went up a little bit, but it affects me because there are two of us (Luis and me), so, it's ok.
The problem is that not only the fare from Puerto la Cruz to Cumaná went up, but also the fare on the bus to my parents' house, so it's more money, but it doesn't matter much, I took a little more, I have enough to go back home.
The trip was very tiring. First I took the bus that would take me to the terminal, to my surprise there were not many people, so there were seats available, there was not much traffic. But the person behind us was coughing a lot and all the way, that person did not have a mask on. Things started to get a little bad there. We arrived quickly at our stop.
Luis was the first one to get out of the bus and when I was getting out, someone very close to me pushed me and I fell on the road. I explain, the stops are high and there is a big gap between the bus and the stop, so you can fall on the road and hurt yourself. Luckily nothing happened to me.
We walked to the terminal. When we arrived there was a bit of a long line, but we managed to leave early. The person behind my seat was banging on my chair during the whole trip, he was about 30 years old, I ignored him, I ignored him so well that I even fell asleep, it can't be hahaha I never fall asleep on trips, I always keep an eye out, the good thing is that Luis was taking care of me.
Out of 40 passengers approximately 10 were wearing masks. I don't understand what happened, it seems as if they thought the covid had disappeared.
I always take buses that make stops at another terminal, it is more economical, when I have a little more money I take buses directly to where I want to go. We arrived at the Santa Fe terminal, luckily there was a bus to go to Cumaná. There were few people inside the bus and the people who had arrived in the same bus as me were also very few, so we could not leave.
We sat in a seat near the entrance of the bus, that seat looked very nice, but, after a while we had to change. The person behind us had his arms and head on our seats and started coughing a lot, he wouldn't stop, besides he was not wearing a mask. We changed seats and realized that no one was wearing a mask, not even the driver, only Luis, me and a man who was near us. I was even more shocked than in the previous bus.
The new seat we sat on was very broken, but it did not matter, I preferred to be in a broken seat than near a person who did not let me sit well, because his arms were on my seat. We spent many hours at the bus stop, we waited for more people to arrive so that all the seats on the bus would be full so we could leave... We left about 2 or 3 hours later.
Actually the trip from Puerto la Cruz to Cumaná is not far, the problem is the time it takes for the buses to load passengers or if there are no buses.
Finally we left... And as soon as we left we were stopped by the guard. I was praying that they wouldn't tell us that we had to get off and check our things. I was so tired, I didn't want to get off the bus, unpack everything, then pack again, get back on the bus and wait for the order that we could leave. Thank goodness none of this happened. We were only stopped by the guard, they saw the people who were traveling, maybe they were looking for someone who looked suspicious, as they didn't find anyone we continued our trip.
When we finally arrived in Cumaná it was already very late, it would soon start to get dark, so we had to run to get on a bus to my parents' house, there are very few of those buses. We ran all over downtown until we got to the bus stop, we waited for a long time and no bus was coming, someone signaled us that we had to go to another stop, we ran to the other stop, luckily there was a bus, but it was not so close to my parents' house. The problem is that every time I come here they change the names of the routes, so I don't know if that one would take me to my parents' house.
I got on the bus, I knew it would leave me closer to my parents' house than to where I was, and it did. When the bus took a route I didn't know, we got off and started walking. We walked for about 30 minutes to get to my parents' house.
We finally arrived, at night and without being able to eat lunch, we had only had breakfast. We really worried my parents a lot. Luckily we are fine. I hope I didn't get sick and am in good health.
Today was a very crazy day, even though I wanted to share with you another article, I can't yet, it's not ready. So I hope you liked this replacement article about my crazy day hahaha.
Tomorrow I'm leaving early with my dad and Luis to buy my mom's gifts, she still doesn't know what her gift will be, but she's asking around a lot. She has no idea that we have put together money between me, my brother and my dad to give her everything she wants on her special day.

**Travel days...**
I travel only as much as necessary, important dates, birthdays or because I have time without seeing my family. This trip I am making is for my mother's birthday, unfortunately I will not be able to be with her on her birthday, so I am going a few days earlier.
She has her birthday this Thursday, November 25, but Luis has classes. We will travel tomorrow early Tuesday morning and return Thursday morning, so we will sing her birthday on Thursday before we go back.
My mother has not been one to receive many gifts or well we have not been able to give her many gifts. She is very joking, so she made a list of things she would like as gifts and put some pretty crazy things on it, but I have talked to my dad and brother to try to get her everything she asked for that wasn't in jest.
Among the things he asked for are shoes, perfume, sandals and pins. Things are not easy for everyone, but together we are going to be able to buy her what she wants. The shoes are for going to work as well as the perfume, the sandals are for being at home and the pins are to continue sewing. She is not a seamstress, but she loves to sew.
After I made a parchita pie at her house, she told me she wanted an apple pie, I would love to make it, but first I have to do the math... I don't know if I will have enough money for that
**What do I do when I go on a trip?**
I look for a good book to read on the road, people are sometimes oblivious and hit other people's seats all the way, one way I have to ignore those hits is by reading.
I wash my clothes, I choose very well what I am going to wear, I also take some extra shirts in case I stay another day. I'm lying, I don't take a lot of clothes, but if I take them clean, I usually stay two or three days, I might as well wash the clothes I take with me. I do this so I don't carry so much weight.
I clean the whole house very well, even if I cleaned the day before, I clean again.
The bag I am going to take with me must be clean and things must be tidy.
I need shampoo, soap, alcohol, fever or headache pills, and all those small but important things.
Depending on what my parents tell me, I take some food like rice, meat or pasta.
Oh, taking out cash, that's the most important thing. Many times the ATM doesn't have cash so you have to run out to many banks to find out which one has it, take necessary cash or even more, because they can increase the fare without warning.
I carry my laptop, so it must be well prepared for traveling, I have to keep writing for read.cash daily, so it is important to carry my laptop to work comfortably.
In the morning before leaving, I have enough breakfast, because I will never know at what time I will arrive in Cumaná, I don't know if there will be enough buses or if there will be a lot of traffic. I don't take off my mask at any time, not even to drink water.
People are getting on the buses without masks and I don't like that, so I avoid touching my mask or taking it off. I don't drink water or eat on the street.
On second thought, before covid I never drank water or ate on the buses either, I find it a bit unhygienic, especially if I am traveling and it is very hot, I find it uncomfortable.
I take many precautions when I travel, because I know that I can make myself or my family sick.
When I arrive at my parents' house, I go straight to the bathroom to take a bath and put on clean clothes, and I wash my travel clothes as soon as possible. After I am clean and ready I hug my parents and spend time with them.
Note: I like to travel, but, with everything that is going on economically and the covid I have avoided thinking about traveling.

Today is a relaxing Sunday. I had a late breakfast, then a delicious lunch, a snack and finally a nice dinner. Why was it relaxing? Well, I drew a lot and watched some series, that's why I'm writing very late today here at read.cash, but I don't want to miss my challenge for the month, a daily article.

**How to write in your sleep?**
I'm sure you're thinking, how can I write in my sleep, I can't do that... Of course you can, it's a technique that's been around for years hahaha
It is normal that if you spend every day on the computer you learn where the keys are, just like when you play a musical instrument. If you practice and practice the guitar, you will quickly learn where your fingers go to play certain notes. So it is with the keys on the computer keyboard.
Since I was a child I have had technology at my fingertips, yes, that technology where I played solitaire and where I also drew in paint... From using the computer and with the help of my father and the school, I learned the keys without having to see what letter it is, I can write with my eyes closed, there are people who find that easier and others who do not.

Now I not only write with my eyes closed, I've also managed to write in my sleep hahaha.
I admit there is one article where I was writing as normal and then my couple came in and woke me up. The crazy thing is that I did have the article written, but I was asleep.
I explain clearly what happened... I was in the room writing my next article and my couple went to cook. When Luis had the food ready he came to the room to tell me. What he found was a person sitting in front of the computer, with his eyes closed and his hands moving by themselves, as if these hands had a life of their own. That person was me.
According to my point of view I was wide awake writing, but it was not like that, when Luis calls me I woke up and stopped writing. My concentration was gone, yes, the concentration that I had asleep.
**What was happening to my body?**
Well, I still don't know. What I remember is that I could not see well what I was writing (because my eyes were closed), but I knew very well what I was writing, the words came to my mind without wanting to.
It was something very crazy and writing this I have remembered the ability Luis developed to dictate chords or play any instrument while he is asleep.
Some time ago, I had to hand in a musical score for a class I had in college, I remember it was to listen to a song and write the chords that are playing, I'm not very good at that. I asked Luis for help, he listened attentively to the song, then he grabbed the cuatro and lay down on the bed falling asleep and then he told me "This is the rhythm, it's joropo, now write the chords", I looked for pencil and paper running, he dictated me each one of the chords.
The next day in the morning, Luis listens to me playing the song and asks me "Who did you ask for the musical score?", and I told him "you dictated the chords last night", and Luis did not remember, he developed that skill unintentionally, now when I need some musical score I can ask him when he is asleep.
Talking about this ability with my in-laws, they tell me that when Luis was 6 or 7 years old when he was in music school he would fall asleep at the concert, but he would play all the songs as he had rehearsed them. Luis has had the ability to play music while he sleeps since he was a little boy.

**Why would a cloud ruin my light?**
Well, today I woke up very cheerful, I felt good, I was no longer tired or discouraged. I woke up, stretched and went to the bathroom. There was no need to turn on the bathroom light, there is plenty of sunlight coming in, there is a big window. I started brushing my teeth and suddenly, the whole room went dark.
It was just a cloud, a big passing cloud that took away all the sunlight. A long time passed in the dark bathroom, until the cloud ran its course and the sunlight came back in.
**You know what I mean?** The sun, even though they covered its light, it never stopped shining, it didn't go out, it kept shining, it knew that at some point that passing cloud would go away, and everyone would see it shine again.
It is just like when it rains, the sun disappears, leaving an atmosphere a little cold and dark, but the sun does not go out, he knows that at some point those clouds will go away and it will be his time to shine.
We must be like that sun, we must not stop shining just because of a couple of passing clouds, in the end everyone will see our brightness.

I started my day great, but something happened, I don't know what it was, but my couple was upset about something, just starting the day, it's not normal for that to happen, so I showed him the name of the article and he was immediately happy. I didn't let that little darkness that we didn't know where it was coming from ruin my light, instead, I pushed the darkness aside with my light.
Sometimes we are like that, we stop shining because a cloud covered us, let's not let that happen, let's keep shining, clouds are passing.

**Friday, November 19th**
On an afternoon full of clouds and cold as today I will talk to you about Temptations and Sins. It's finally Friday, but for me it's a day like any other. People are always happy when this day arrives because they will have a weekend off, but... I think we should enjoy the other days just the same...
As you know, if you have read my life and my articles, I am a musician and so is my couple. I met him when I started working in a music academy. He was teaching guitar, piano, cuatro and singing. I was hired to teach musical language, electric bass and piano. But in that academy I started to see classes with the other teachers, since we all became very good friends, they were all very nice, so I learned other instruments like drums, guitar and cuatro.
Luis and I always went together to the same bus stop, the other teachers had cars and we didn't, so we became very close friends and then we started dating. More than 5 years have passed and we are still together.
**But well, today I will not tell you about my relationship, but about Temptations and Sins.**

Temptations and Sins, is a place quite different and flashy, where you can eat hamburgers, sushi, pepitos, salads, different types of spaghetti, tequeños, etc, etc... It is a place that was close to where we lived before. I loved the hamburgers there, there were always promotions of hamburgers with fries and soda. I think burgers, sweets and pizza are my weakness hahaha.
The first time I went, the place seemed pretty crazy to me, there is a bicycle hanging from the ceiling and many things like that flashy, that made that place, a place different from the others. The problem? That later many restaurants started to imitate them, so now there are many places like that, well it doesn't matter.
"It's Friday and the body knows it", I don't know where that phrase came from, but they say it a lot. I told the owner that we were musicians and that we would like to play there, he told us that there was already a group that played on Friday and Saturday nights, we had never been there on those days because we were teaching at that time.
A long time later some people came to the academy looking for a guitarist for a group, well, what a coincidence, it was the group that played in Tentaciones y Pecados, Luis accepted and began to play with them on Fridays and Saturdays. They paid him very little, but he was distracted, they gave him several rounds of drinks, and at the end of the concert they gave him hamburgers. Luis preferred that instead of giving him beers, they gave him that payment in money, but the contract was made that way and no matter how much the band wanted to change it, they could not.
I would go there from time to time, they already knew me at the place, so they would let me in without any problems, I would order a simple hamburger or a couple of beers so I could stay in the place and watch Luis play. Of course I would go after teaching, he stopped teaching at that time so I took all the responsibility.

It was quite fun to watch them play a lot of pop and rock songs from my parents' era. One time I took my parents, it was the first time I toasted my mom with a beer. It really was a sad day that day, but I wanted to cheer my parents up somehow. My parents were staying with me at my old house, and my dad's brother had just passed away, it all happened so fast. My uncle thought he had the flu and in less than a month, everything got worse, he had lung cancer and it was quite advanced. Two years ago he passed away on the 14th of this month. That day was Thursday, so I told my parents to stay a little longer at my house and we went on Friday to Temptations and Sins, it was a sad day, but I didn't want to be cooped up at home crying with my parents.
We ate, enjoyed ourselves and then helped Luis with his stuff (guitar, cables, amplifier, etc.).

I also remember that they had a concert on February 14, Valentine's Day. I went to see them play and share with them. At the end they gave them one more hamburger that was for me. We didn't eat at the venue, we went straight to the house and to our surprise, the burgers were red! Hahaha we freaked out and laughed too much, what weird burgers.
I had a lot of good times there at Temptations and Sins with Luis and the band where he was playing. Then the pandemic started and they had to stop playing, then there were many problems because the owner of the band wanted to play and the others didn't, because it was risky, at the end Luis left the band because he didn't want more problems, they wanted to play without using mask and Luis didn't agree, at the end, the band disbanded, leaving only the owner playing his instrument (violin) with a background music. This made him change the name of the band, because it was no longer a band, it was the owner playing by himself.

As I told you yesterday, there are two ways to get to Araya by sea, but you can also arrive by land, but it takes much longer, besides the road is not well built and at this time it must be quite dangerous to travel by road to Araya, it would be best to go by sea.
Yesterday I told you how it was to go through the "tapaitos", what I didn't tell you is that when you go inside the "tapaito" you feel like you are going to sink haha, because it moves a lot from one side to the other, you can get dizzy easily, it is like a dangerous attraction, where you can be left in the middle of the sea if the boat is damaged. What a danger!
The other way is with La Palita, it takes longer, you usually go standing up, but you have a great view.
I remember once I went with some friends, I was already in college. We were going in tapaitos, but at the last minute we decided to leave in La Palita, because there were a lot of people to go to Manicuare, and we were going to arrive very late to catch a transport to Araya, besides we would have to wait in line again arriving to Manicuare.
If my memory serves me correctly, we traveled for Carnavales. The lines to get a ride to Araya were very long, we were going to spend hours there. The carnivals there are very good, that's why there were long lines to travel... Well, at that time they were very good, I don't know how the carnivals are now.
At that time I was studying at the university in Puerto la Cruz and I convinced my friends to travel to Cumaná, they had never been there. So I managed to convince them to spend a few days there and then travel to Araya, there is no way to go directly from Puerto la Cruz to Araya.
It would be nice, so I could visit my family in Araya, without having to travel to Cumana.
We stayed at my parents' house, they always welcome us with open doors and lots of love. The next day, very early in the morning we went to the passenger terminal, where we made a long line to go on the tapaitos, after many hours of waiting and that the line had not advanced much, we went to make the line to go on La Palita, which was already arriving at the dock of Cumana. The ticket was much more expensive and La Palita took a long time to leave for Araya.
I don't know why it took so long, but we arrived almost in the evening in Araya, without having eaten, without drinking water, but apparently we didn't care much hahaha We had arrived at the best time, the carnival caravan was passing by the beach. So we stayed there watching the parades for hours. Unfortunately I didn't take pictures.
At the end of the carnivals we started walking along the beach and got to the castle. Near the castle there were some of my brother's friends camping, so we stayed with them for a long time. We went to the beach to swim, despite the cold, it was the first time I went swimming at night on the beach, it was very cold and the beach was colder than usual. The water on the beach is always cold, but at night it is even colder.
When we finished bathing and sharing with my brother's friends, we walked to my grandmother's house. There were my parents, aunts and uncles and some cousins who were also going to stay. Thank goodness there were enough beds for everyone.
After bathing to get rid of the salt and dressing comfortably, we went to dinner with my family. After dinner we watched a movie on my grandmother's old black and white TV. I don't remember what movie it was, then we went to sleep to continue doing adventures the next day with more energy.
The next day we got up very early and had coffee, no breakfast at home, we went for a walk along the beach and had breakfast at an empanada stand. Delicious and hot empanadas made with love.
After breakfast we went for a walk on the beach, where we climbed up and enjoyed a nice view from the top of the castle.
We stayed talking with my brother's friends and then we went for a swim at the beach. We stayed until sunset on the beach, it was beautiful to share together and watch the sunset. Then we went to remove the salt from the beach in some baths that are near the beach.
On the way to my grandmother's house we felt like eating hamburgers, so we stayed there enjoying that delicious dinner. After dinner we went to my grandmother's house to rest.
The last day, we woke up early, but we stayed in the house talking, we had some delicious arepas with coffee for breakfast. Then we went with my grandmother to buy fish. We had fish soup for lunch, rested for a while, we were very full. At 3 or 4 o'clock in the afternoon we went to the beach, to walk along it for the last time.
We stayed admiring the beach until La Palita arrived, which was going to take us back to Cumaná.

Sand, water and salt
Warm place, hot sand, salt mountains, big castle and super icy beaches, all this is Araya. A small place somewhere in sucre, where all things are close. You can stay to sleep in a place close to the beach. You can hear the waves even if you are not so close to the beach, or so I felt when I was a little girl....

I haven't been to Araya for many years, I miss that place very much. There my grandmother has a small house where we used to go on vacation. My grandmother and my mother are from Araya, so we have many relatives there. I don't know when was the last time I went, I only know that suddenly one vacation we didn't go, and the next year we didn't go either, nor the following year, nor the one after that... And so it happened, I stopped going to Araya and I don't remember when was the last time I went or the reason why we don't go anymore....
**Remembering the past when we used to go to Araya...**
I manage to remember some things...
**When I was traveling alone with my grandmother**
My grandmother is one of those people who get up at 5am even if they have nothing to do. So to travel we would get up early and my father would take us to the maritime terminal in Cumaná. We would watch the lines of people and see which one was the best. There were two lines, one for small boats that went fast, but did not take you directly to Araya, but took you to Manicuare and a big boat, where you could go with your car. This boat takes you directly to Araya, but it takes a long time.

So we decided... To go fast in the boats that we called "tapaitos" or to go slow in the boat called "La palita"? In the "tapaitos" we would go seated, with 30 or 40 people and the fare was cheap. In the "palita", if you were lucky, you were seated. Normally we would stand and admire the scenery. The palita takes 1 hour to get to the Araya dock.

If it was early in the morning we would go on the "tapaitos". These little boats take about 15 to 20 minutes to take you to Manicuare, which is a small town that is more or less near Araya.

In Manicuare we took a vehicle, which is not safe at all, to go to Araya. It seemed to take forever.... I always had to keep an eye on my cap, because it could fly off in the breeze. It really takes 20 minutes, but for me, in those moments, time passed very slowly. Apart from the fact that the vehicles were not safe, the whole road was made of mountains, so it is really very dangerous.

If we went very late, we would go on the boat "La Palita", many times I got to see dolphins, it was fun to see them jump and listen to them. But even though I was distracted by the scenery, getting to Araya seemed like an eternity. I always took a book with me and started reading to distract myself, but it seemed uncomfortable when I was standing up, I felt that I could drop the book and it would fall into the water.

When we arrived in Araya, the first thing we did was to visit my uncles and cousins, sometimes we had lunch there. Then we would walk to my grandmother's house, to clean and fix what we had brought, we always brought food. There used to be a big guava tree at her house, so I would go and look for guavas with my grandmother to make a delicious juice or we would eat the guavas as a snack. My grandmother has a very funny neighbor, we call her "Morocha". When we would arrive at my grandmother's house she would come over and welcome us. We would stay a long time talking to her, that lady is much older than my grandmother, but she is quite funny, she always had a story to tell.
In the afternoons we would go for a walk to the beach, I liked it very much, but sometimes the breeze was very strong and you felt the sand prickling your skin, I didn't like that, but I do like to watch the sunset on the beach.
After walking we would go to my grandmother's friend's house who sold ice cream and malts, she always gave me an ice cream. We would stay at Mrs. Matilde's house until nightfall, she had a dog and I loved to play with him. She lives very close to the beach, so to go to my grandmother's house we had to walk back along the beach. My grandmother lives a 20-minute walk from the beach.
Sometimes we would stay at my aunt's house. I loved to stay, because I loved it when my cousin would make me sandwiches and give me coffee with milk, we really made the food between the two of us, but there was something in her coffee, that I have never had in another coffee before, it was delicious, I still don't know what her secret is. I also watched a lot of TV with her or we would play together. My cousin is 5 years older than me. I also had other cousins who live very close, but I didn't go to their house much, because they were always busy, so I didn't like to bother them. I preferred to be with my cousin Genesis, she was always busy too but she made time for me.
