Hello guys!!! I’ve been busy since last week, how was your weekend and your Monday? Did you have your vaccine? 1st dose or 2nd dose? How did you feel after the shot?
If you ask me, I’m still not vaccinated, I’m still waiting for my schedule and hopefully soon. Today, I will about what my mom experienced being vaccinated for the 1st time with Moderna being a senior citizen.
Well, I started being busy last week. The Barangay Health Worker (BHW) called me early on Tuesday last week to confirm if my mom is feeling okay so she can have her 1st dose. She was supposed to have her vaccine in July last month but it was rescheduled because she was coughing at that time. The next time the BHW called my mom is already well and in good shape, the good thing was the vaccine will be done in the barangay hall meaning the health workers will be coming over to administer the shot which is better because it is only for senior citizens in our barangay. I think they were only 10 seniors who had the vaccine including my mom. As much as the health workers would want to accommodate all the seniors in our area, sadly, some were not feeling well and some are still hesitant and refuse to have their shot.
The vaccination in the Barangay Hall took only about an hour and it's done. My mom came home smiling because they were also given relief goods ‘ayuda’ from the city government. Canned goods, noodles, adult milk, coffee, and around 3kg of rice. That’s a big help for a family, especially in this pandemic. From the photo, that’s the only goods left before I thought of taking a photo the day after it was given haha..bawas na agad e 🤣😅
My mom felt nothing unusual, a few hours after the shot but the next day she felt her arm was very heavy, her left arm that received the shot. I asked her if she feels dizzy or has a fever or headache but she said no she said she just felt exhausted and the heaviness in her arm, she just wanted to rest. The following morning, I asked her again how she feels or if there’s something odd that she noticed or rashes. she answered, none then I just let her take a rest. I also told my mom that we will move her birthday celebration when her discomfort is over thus she can enjoy eating any food by then. On the 3rd day, my mom can move her arm and she’s fully recovered.
