A New Year’s Goal: Learning to Heal While Grieving The start of a new year is often described as a time of joy, hope, and fresh beginnings. People celebrate with laughter, fireworks, and plans for the future. Yet for someone who is grieving, the new year can feel very different. Instead of excitement, there may be heaviness. Instead of hope, there may be longing. The absence of someone who once made life feel whole becomes even more noticeable as the year begins. In moments like this, a New Year’s goal does not have to be about success or achievement, it can simply be about learning how to live with grief and slowly heal. Grief is a deeply personal experience. It does not follow a schedule, and it does not disappear just because the calendar changes. Losing someone, whether through death, separation, or any form of irreversible goodbye, creates a pain that words often fail to explain. The new year can intensify this pain because it reminds us that time is moving forward, even when our hearts feel stuck in the past. For someone who is grieving, the world may seem to move too fast, expecting them to be “okay” when they are not. In this context, a New Year’s goal centered on grieving is not about “moving on,” but about **moving forward with care**. One meaningful goal could be allowing oneself to feel. Many people try to suppress their grief, believing that being strong means not crying or not talking about the pain. However, grief needs space. Allowing emotions, sadness, anger, confusion, or even guilt, to surface is an important step toward healing. A New Year’s goal can simply be to stop judging these feelings and accept them as part of the process. Another powerful goal during grief is learning self-compassion. Grieving people are often hard on themselves. They may feel weak for still hurting or frustrated for not being productive enough. The new year can be an opportunity to treat oneself with kindness instead of criticism. This may mean resting when needed, taking breaks, or saying no to things that feel overwhelming. Choosing self-compassion as a goal reminds a grieving person that healing is not a race. For some, a New Year’s goal may involve honoring the person they lost. This could mean keeping their memory alive through simple acts, lighting a candle, writing letters to them, visiting meaningful places, or continuing traditions they once shared. These actions do not prevent healing; instead, they allow love to coexist with grief. Remembering someone does not mean being trapped in the past, it means acknowledging that love does not disappear with loss. Grief can also feel incredibly lonely. Even when surrounded by people, a grieving person may feel misunderstood. A meaningful New Year’s goal could be to seek connection. This might involve opening up to a trusted friend, joining a support group, or seeking professional help. Talking about grief does not make the pain worse, it often lightens the burden. Sharing the story of loss helps remind the grieving person that they do not have to carry everything alone. There may also be days when grief feels heavier than others. Anniversaries, birthdays, and holidays can reopen wounds. A New Year’s goal can be learning how to cope during these difficult moments. This could mean creating routines, practicing mindfulness, journaling, or finding small comforts that bring peace. Healing does not mean the pain disappears; it means learning how to survive the hard days with gentleness. Importantly, a New Year’s goal during grief should be flexible. There will be progress, and there will be setbacks. Some days will feel hopeful, while others may feel unbearable. This does not mean failure. Grief is not linear, and healing does not look the same for everyone. The goal is not perfection, it is persistence. Waking up each day and choosing to keep going, even when it hurts, is already an act of strength. In the end, a New Year’s goal focused on grieving is about choosing life while carrying loss. It is about accepting that pain may remain, but joy can still find its way back in small, quiet moments. It is about understanding that healing does not mean forgetting, and moving forward does not mean leaving love behind. As the new year unfolds, the goal may simply be this: **to survive, to feel, and to slowly heal**. And sometimes, that is more than enough. ----- So ayun nga, moving on while grieving tayo, sooner or later!
Lah, nagdelete ako ng history ko tas ngayon inimport ko ung seed phrase ko, nawala ung laman ng wallet 🤣
It’s almost been a month since my mom passed away. It’s true what they say, grief comes in waves. There are days when I feel okay, when I can get through the day and even smile. But there are also moments when, all of a sudden, I’m not okay at all, and the sadness feels just as heavy as it did in the beginning. 😊
Happy newyear sa lahat! Soo far, ung grieving ko is minsan okay madalas hindi hahaha, anyway, wish you all a goood year and healthy life!
So here we are, I remember where everyone used to write long article. pero simpleng update lang about us is already enough now 😘
Pasko na, pero parang di ko dama 😅
Discovering My Mom’s Battle with Breast Cancer As many of you may have seen on my Facebook account, on December 14, I lost my mom. It was a moment I still can’t fully wrap my mind around, one of the most painful experiences of my life. But as I’ve been processing the grief, I’ve come to learn something that has made the pain even more complex: on December 17, just three days after her passing, I found out that her death was caused by breast cancer. In those first few days, I was in shock. The loss itself was overwhelming, but to learn that it was due to something as serious as cancer, a disease that she had apparently been quietly battling for some time, was hard to accept. It felt like I was still trying to come to terms with her death, only to be hit with a deeper, more painful layer of reality. **A Silent Battle** For many of us, cancer feels distant until it hits close to home. I knew about breast cancer, of course, it's something we hear about all the time. But when it happens to someone you love, the weight of it is completely different. What made this even harder was that my mom had kept her diagnosis to herself. She hadn’t shared the news with me or anyone else in our family. I don’t know if she was trying to protect us from worrying or if she thought she could handle it on her own, but the fact that she fought this battle in silence makes it even harder for me to process. Breast cancer is tricky, it often doesn’t show obvious signs in the early stages, and by the time it does, it can already be advanced. I now realize how much harder it is to catch it in time if you’re not actively checking for it or getting regular screenings. My mom was one of the many who didn’t get a chance to catch it early. **The Pain of Unanswered Questions** In the wake of this news, I’ve found myself grappling with many questions. Could things have been different if she’d shared her diagnosis? Was there something we could’ve done to help her sooner? But I’ve also come to understand that these questions, while natural, can’t change what’s already happened. What I can do now is take this painful experience and try to learn from it. I can raise awareness about breast cancer, share what I’ve learned, and hopefully encourage others to get regular screenings or checkups. It’s a small way to honor my mom and make sure that something good comes out of this loss. **Moving Forward with Purpose** Losing a parent is something that no one is ever fully prepared for. I’ve had to confront grief in a way I never imagined. But I’ve also had to find a way to move forward, to keep going even as I hold this pain. My mom may not be here anymore, but her love and the lessons she taught me are still with me. One thing I’ve learned through all of this is the importance of talking about health openly and honestly. Whether it's a serious diagnosis or a simple checkup, we need to have more conversations about our well-being. Early detection and regular health screenings can save lives. While I will always miss my mom, I now know that it’s up to me to keep her memory alive, not just through my thoughts and prayers, but through action. And if my story helps even one person take the time to get checked, then maybe some of this pain can serve a greater purpose.
Grabeng pagsubok to, may mass si nanay sa both liver nya tapos kidney stone. Malalasuko, nakakaiyak pero wala akong magawa. Naaawa ako
A Gentle Reminder for Anyone Not Feeling Okay It’s been a long time since I last published an article, and after many years, this becomes my first piece once again. Coming back to writing feels both nostalgic and unfamiliar, like stepping into a room I once knew so well but haven’t visited in ages. Life has taken me through many changes, challenges, and quiet moments of reflection, and somewhere along the way, my voice fell silent on the page. But today, I choose to write again. And in returning, I wanted my first message to be something meaningful, something that might resonate with anyone who needs a little comfort right now. If you’re not feeling okay today, please remember this: it’s completely normal to have difficult moments. No one moves through life feeling strong and steady all the time. There are days when emotions feel heavier than usual, when motivation disappears, or when even the simplest tasks feel overwhelming. It doesn’t mean you’re failing. It doesn’t mean you’re weak. It simply means you’re human. What matters most during these moments is acknowledging how you feel. Give yourself permission to pause. To breathe. To sit with what you’re feeling without forcing yourself to “fix” everything immediately. Healing isn’t a race, and rest is not a sign of defeat—it’s a step toward understanding and caring for yourself. Reach out to someone you trust. A simple message or conversation can lighten the weight you’re carrying. Take time for self-care, even if it’s just a few minutes of silence, a warm drink, or stepping outside for fresh air. Small acts of gentleness toward yourself can make a big difference. And above all, remind yourself that better days are ahead. You may not see them yet, but they are coming. You don’t have to go through your struggles alone, and it’s more than okay to ask for help whenever you need it. Vulnerability is not a flaw, it’s a bridge toward connection and healing. As I begin writing again after so many years, I hope this message reaches whoever needs it. Maybe you’re going through something heavy. Maybe you’re tired. Maybe you’re simply trying your best to hold everything together. If so, I want you to know this: you deserve kindness, patience, and understanding, from others, but most importantly, from yourself. Thank you for reading my first article after such a long time. Here’s to new beginnings, gentle healing, and the quiet strength that grows within us during our hardest days.

It's been years since I joined read.cash, I was shocked by the news since I'm not that active anymore when it comes to writing because of my work. I can see that they stopped the tipping because there are so many plagiarism article that was published here but I'm not sure if that is the reason. By the way, I wanna say thank you for the memories and for the friendship that I gained from everyone. Don't worry rusty, you play a big part and we will never forget how generous you are. Long live rusty! Until we see each other again! Also, I'm planning to make this read.cash as my free diary platform where I will share how's my day going so that I can still write and practice my writing even though I'm not getting any money. It doesn't matter, I just wanna express my writing. Have a nice day everyone!
Distance yourself from people who disrespect you. . It's hard to make friends with people who you think are perfect, it's hard to make friends when you notice something unpleasant. It's like people who criticize your mistakes, but they don't notice their mistakes. Why would you be friends with someone who is not on your brain level? Why would you be friends with someone who did nothing but judge, insult and make fun of everyone? Do they sometimes think about what they are doing? Just like things that others shouldn't know *but because you're a* ***superstar*** *you said it.* Imagine, others don't do what you do to others, but you yourself do things to other people that are not right, just so they can say that you are always right. So they can say you're good, and so they can admire you. **Never allow someone to disrespect you with ease.** even if they are an important person to you or a friend of yours. Bullying and other forms of disrespect should not be tolerated. Set boundaries and be bold. If it hurts, you should let them know that you are uncomfortable with their treatment or simply walk away because you don't deserve it. Be decisive, don't let the person manipulate you if they have a strong personality. You can earn respect. Therefore, it is essential to learn to respect oneself in the face of disrespect. *Sadly, we cannot change toxic people, specially the ones who always think they are right. But we can start changing the way their words and actions affect us, to lighten the heaviness we feel.* Everyone has set a limit beyond which they cannot tolerate anything. When ever you feel that your are being disrespected by someone. You can ask them very respectfully to stop doing that. And it can be also done politely. If you do it this ways they will know their limits Be minded that have always been a builder in spirit and life. Can only imagine it was the darkest of times when my spirit ran out of materials and tools. But isn’t that the truth for all of us, that without materials and tools when we need them most, the table means nothing because it can’t be built. Because *a table built without others is like a castle built out of sand*. And that would be a lonely and sad thing. So build together, no one should have to beg, that’s ridiculous. But sometimes it’s where the materials and tools come from. Never let others to make your world. You can make your own world even better than others. You can make the world except making a single room with the help of others. So called of people doesn't have the ability to rule you world. You are the ruler of your own planet. Don't let others to rule. There is always a twist of your own. So make your own world not letting others to make it. You will need a package of self confidence and self steem to know your worth. ***Self confidence*** to love yourself. ***Self steem*** to reach your goals. Author's Note: Hehe kakapublish lang ulitt! Medyo hirap na gumawa mg article kasi ang heptic ng schedule pero laban ❤️
