Places I want to See in South Korea

Good day friends, how’s everyone today? I’m just done cooking for lunch. I’m now taking some time to sit down to think about what to write and organize my thoughts before dinner time comes.

Yesterday, I came across an article, it's about the places she wanted to go to. After reading, my mind went wandering off. The post inspired me to make this article as well. Made me think of all the beautiful places in the world. And amongst these marvelous places, I was asking myself which of these caught my attention first.

 At that point, I recalled the places that I wanted to visit too. There are certain areas I wanted to see in South Korea. I wanted to visit Korea especially the spots where iconic Kdramas took location and filmed their Kdramas.

 Here are a few lists of the places I wanna roam to.

1. Nami Island (Namiseom) – A half-moon-shaped island that is situated in Bukhangang River in Bangha-ri Chuncheon, Gangwon province where the famous ‘Winter Sonata’ took place. It looks equally beautiful in every season.

2. Dae Jang Geum Park – Located in Yongcheong-ri, Baekam-myeon, Yongin-si where a lot of Kdramas where shot in this place like Mr. Queen, Tale of the Nine Tailed, The King: Eternal Monarch, etc. This place is the largest historical drama set which remained a popular setting for the historical play.

3. Namsam Tower Locks of Love – At Mt. Namsam in Seoul where a part of Boys over Flower and My Love from the Star was filmed. Well-known for its Locks of love, literally locking their love in a padlock. Perfect for Romeo’s and Juliet’s, couples, sweethearts, love birds, and the like. This place became famous for the numerous padlocks attached to the walls and fences This romantic gesture of couples spread worldwide and eventually became a special reason to set foot in Namsan. It is said that after putting a padlock, they either kept the key, or for most, they throw it away to symbolize that their love will be locked forever. Though it’s just a belief, and I don’t believe in it, I just find it cute so I wanna go there haha 😅😂

 4. We are Young Mural – This is located in Yolgok-ro 3-gil in Seoul’s neighborhood of Anguk-dong, Jongno District. The mural appeared in different kdramas like Hotel Del Luna, While You Were Sleeping, My Golden Life to name a few. This is the artwork of Wie Yeong-seon in August 2013. As time passed by the mural deteriorated and the Jongno District restored it in April 2018.

5. Jeju Island – This place is often mentioned in so many Kdramas like My Lovely Kim Sam Soon. The island is known for its sweeping ocean and wonderful nature made popular as the country’s ‘honey capital’. You can see here the volcanic peak of Hallasan Mountain, the tallest mountain in South Korea. Aside from that, you can check out Seopjikoji Lighthouse on top of the hill, this has appeared in Boys Over Flower and All In. During summer the hill is seen covered in golden rape flowers.
