For those of you that are new to my MidNight Gems series. Welcome to this nightly trip on which we will uncover & recover some amazing songs & covers.

Something old, Something New, Something Stolen, Something You..... tonight I will revisit some songs as there was this youtube playlist that inspired me so much ....

I couldn´t help myself.

So big thanks to whoever created the "Calling You" playlist and let me start with the song that ended that playlist. It´s a cover, as the song originally was from Eric Andersen....but miss Colins always preferred improving on the work of others....

Just like I will be doing tonight.

So this sounds so John Denverish already I could not leave him out....perhaps you love him...perhaps you don´t but his songs definitely made the world a better place.

And of course, it allows me to play this next cover...which is one of my favorite songs of all time. It´s sad and still promises a new future....

3. Chantal Kreviazuk - Leaving On A Jet Plane

Leaving on a journey, visiting all those places I read about. All the cities I heard in songs which will make me visit the Southland in the Springtime....because these girls just make that sound soo wonderful.

The southland....I will grab any excuse to shill this next song one more time...bring out the tissues because this baby is gonna cry again.

5. Brad Paisley - Whiskey Lullaby ft. Alison Krauss (Official Video)

Damn this song makes me wanna listen to the Born in the USA record...one of the best vinyls I ever owned it just missed one song....and that song never knew it missed this next cover.

6. Angie McMahon - The River

And as we are in the springtime of this USA folk Voodoo we couldn´t leave without saying goodbye to Joni.

7. RIVER ~ JONI MITCHELL

Everything comes full circle, I am back to the stolen land...and this stolen song from that inspirational playlist and my previous gems session. But I had to play it once more...just so I would be able to..

Able to end it as that other playlist should have ended Jevetta first and Sam Cook to end the journey....this is how I would have done it. Closing my eyes and dreaming away because A Change Is Gonna Come.

What the fluff are midnight gems?

Somewhere lost in time, trying to escape out of the rabbit hole back into the rat race there is a vacuum..... that´s the place where midnight gems are found.

My Midnight Gems will try to uncover & recover those beautiful songs that nobody ever noticed or might have been forgotten.

Who the fluff am I?

Being a former DJ playing about everything and having an uncompleted study of radio journalism. I have been wanting to do this for years....Thought about it many nights and guess now it´s time to finally take it to the streets.
