For those of you that are new to my MidNight Gems series. Welcome to this nightly trip on which we will uncover & recover some amazing songs & covers.

And now that nights get longer and we are closing in on the darkest longest night of the year let us let go.....drowning in melancholy and infinite sadness.

The next song was a B-side to a CD single I once bought..... as a kid I loved the original by JJ Cale, but this one is just slightly darker.

1. RESONANCE - After Midnight

Okay I am already tripping and my mind was warped back to those Wednesday nights I used to play..... 80´s nights in the city of Tilburg and I opened that night 6 years long with the same song.....the Pump Up The Volume version from this next song, but for tonight I choose an even darker version

2. Sigrid - Everybody Knows (Dogus Cihan Remix)

Tiësto did a great cover of this next song but...way to Happy for tonight. Tonight is Dark N´Long.....The curtain between the two worlds is getting thinner and spirits are hunting the streets tonight.

3. Radiohead - Street Spirit (Funkagenda's Dark N' Long Remix)

When the Street Spirits fade out you know this is the end, my only friend the End and in the End...nothing really matters.

4. Linkin Park - In The End (Mellen Gi & Tommee Profitt Remix)

The neverending ending, a great Gig in the Sky and we are moving up the ethereal stairs. Pushing the sky away and knocking on Heavens gate. But God has turned his back on humanity and thrown away the key.

5. Nick Cave - Push The Sky Away (DarkSunn Remix)

So there is just one way to go for our restless soul, down the descending path into the abyss of everlasting nothingness.

Where we Join each other in death, eternal torture of the spotless mind. Feeding our addiction by eating up the memories we had left from that live on earth to not be starving under Neon loneliness Motorcycle emptiness.

Yes Everybody Knows I already played a Cohen song, but as he is the Master of Darkness let´s do one more ....

Why?

Because we can and he deserves it.

What the fluff are midnight gems?

Somewhere lost in time, trying to escape out of the rabbit hole back into the rat race there is a vacuum..... that´s the place where midnight gems are found.

My Midnight Gems will try to uncover & recover those beautiful songs that nobody ever noticed or might have been forgotten.

Who the fluff am I?

Being a former DJ playing about everything and having an uncompleted study of radio journalism. I have been wanting to do this for years....Thought about it many nights and guess now it´s time to finally take it to the streets.
