MidNight Gems - Undiscovered, Underrated & Forgotten Songs vol.56 "I......am calling you!" For those of you that are new to my MidNight Gems series. Welcome to this nightly trip on which we will uncover & recover some amazing songs & covers. Inspiration comes from weird places....but who cares as long as you are open to receive, inspiration will find you.... And it did I was so looking for that great song to kick of tonights Midnight Gems session and then someone just slapped it on my screen....thx mate 1. Natalie Merchant - Carnival https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQ_Wqtnlv4U This madhouse society makes me wanna drink....have I been wise to shut my eyes and play along for so long. It makes me want to start drinking in the day, lazy eyed don´t say that it´s alright. 2. Elise LeGrow "Drinking In The Day" (Live Acoustic) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oCuXXpcPpFA It´s not even excessive drinking, just the need for that beer buzz in the early afternoon. Peeling the lables of my bottle of beer... all I wanna do is understand what I am doing here? 3. Sheryl Crow - All I Wanna Do https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgmBaE1cqD4 This was the first big hit for little Sheryl, but I was checking her singles and my goodness she has so many great little songs. Personally I like this one best, but it´s not her best song. Her best song never made it in to the charts, but made it´s way onto the X Files album "Songs in the Key of X". https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3s1bZLh4mJA https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL_hpwNuebIOssp9ZF8YxS9JdZ-ZgiQYDq https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ASUS5zd5wAk&list=PL_hpwNuebIOssp9ZF8YxS9JdZ-ZgiQYDq&index=2 Guess that is definetly on of her darker songs, causing a lot of disturbance but not bringing any sweet dreams as the seven armies keep marching .... I am gonna fight them all. 4. Sweet Dreams + White Stripes Mashup | Pomplamoose ft. Sarah Dugas https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmLBSCiEoas Oh man the Eurythmics sick bastards and 80´s legends.... Here we go with 2 more true 80s legends, wrapped up perfectly in one song and if you listend to the X files album I am sure this one jumped out. 5. Elvis Costello & Brian Eno - My Dark Life https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RnDZe6QLWfc&list=PL_hpwNuebIOssp9ZF8YxS9JdZ-ZgiQYDq&index=9 I´m clompletly lost in my dark life, looking for my way out but getting more confused with every step I taken. Fortunaly I stopped drinking, but unfortunatly it didn´t do anything for the twist my sobriety. 6. SOKO :: Lovetrap feat. Ariel Pink https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aXQMrJAa3AE I hate songs I don´t understand.....no I don´t and I hope neither do you....because this one is about unstopable tears and not knowing why..... and about smelling like home. I am so looking for that smell... 7. S10 - Adem Je in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2sKyv3wt7o&list=RDi2sKyv3wt7o&start_radio=1&rv=i2sKyv3wt7o&t=111 Nona, yeah anothe Dutchie but this time you can at least understand the lyrics and damn...this voice calling me makes me think off. 8. Nona covert 'Little Black Submarine https://youtu.be/BjKKIKODCCg?list=RDi2sKyv3wt7o Think of calling you....I am calling you.... Went to see this little gem of a movie called Bagdad Cafe in the late 80’s and fell in love with it’s wonderful, quirky characters. I’ll never forget that as we were leaving the theater everyone, and I mean everyone, was softly singing “I………am calling you”. It was magical This quote almost gave me the same amount of goosebumps as the actual song, life doesnt get better than this song, three rays of sunshine and an ice cold beer. 9. Jevetta Steele : Calling You https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hPPS0_rqwcw&list=PLw2SJ3D7O-U6Izmjv29nHJKDJX5xDgxLm&index=4 Youtube full playlist: https://read.cash/@BitcoinBaby/midnight-gems-undiscovered-underrated-and-forgotten-songs-vol48-play-with-fire-ea38912d#youtube-full-playlist Now you can find the playlists I create also created on youtube https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXQdG71WNB5UrOqXBikJTYm1VMpvUI3D2 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXQdG71WNB5Wfh_mdQNl3W5dLHwPDYj02 https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLXQdG71WNB5Wfh_mdQNl3W5dLHwPDYj02 What the fluff are midnight gems? https://read.cash/@BitcoinBaby/the-best-covers-you-probably-never-heard-midnight-gems-vol10-cover-love-eb436a0c#what-the-fluff-are-midnight-gems Somewhere lost in time, trying to escape out of the rabbit hole back into the rat race there is a vacuum..... that´s the place where midnight gems are found. My Midnight Gems will try to uncover & recover those beautiful songs that nobody ever noticed or might have been forgotten. Who the fluff am I? https://read.cash/@BitcoinBaby/the-best-covers-you-probably-never-heard-midnight-gems-vol10-cover-love-eb436a0c#who-the-fluff-am-i Being a former DJ playing about everything and having an uncompleted study of radio journalism. I have been wanting to do this for years....Thought about it many nights and guess now it´s time to finally take it to the streets. Hope you enjoyed this slightly confronting wave of amazing music and you still feel like joining me on the next special edition trip as vol.56 of Midnight Gems is coming soon.
