MidNight Gems-Undiscovered, Underrated and Forgotten Songs vol.45 "The 12 Months of Christmas"
For those of you that are new to my MidNight Gems series. Welcome to this nightly trip on which we will uncover & recover some amazing songs & covers. And now my friends the end is near..... So Let´s see how a YEAR would sound in music... We will kick off Jan in a relaxed afterparty fashion.....soon 2022 will take us all to January. Millie Turner - January https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3pIWpdzs2A Feb sounds Fab although it´s a bit overproduced still a very nice song for those of us that will be feeling blue as spring did not start, and we are sick of winter by then. Josh Groban - February Song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fzk09LOxszc This next on is a true little Bedroom Gem... I love people that post this stuff this feel so honest.... this is not about the Benjamins this is all about feelings, a girl and and a guitar. March is the honest month, when the new season will wake. Orion Carloto - March, an original song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lGN1YDM6qPc The next is less original, but still an absolute classic, so very well done. Trusty and the Foe - April Come She Will - Simon & Garfunkel (Cover) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eFLxfe3_dZ4 May will be more fieryby nature, just love to shill Anneke I guess and come on this playlist could use some spice...before hitting the hot summer songs. The Gathering - The May Song https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CmOGOXMlN-0 Hot summer song to celebrate those Seven days of sun in June, and I tried but I am not a Jamiroquai fan...but this version sparks my lust for sun an hard seltzar. Jamiroquai - Seven Days In Sunny June (Aliens & Cows Acoustic Cover) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j0BABT1JMdc I wasn´t that impressed by the original..guess I like angelic voices a bit more and omg I love the whistle getting a true G&R Patience feeling there...and okay those big blue eyes looking into the camera do not hurt as well. July - Noah Cyrus cover by Daisy Clark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cffPfUB0r_s Well we all knew this one was gonna come right....but let´s stick to the girlie theme and stay close to the original for a change. Wake Me Up When September Ends - Green Day (Cover by First to Eleven) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V2tvjQG92hk And now one of my personal favorites...yes the closer we get to the end of the year the better these songs get...which is weird as I love summer..but it seems winter months make the best songs. Yes I will provide a translation after the song...but nof first let's head into "The Days of October" Nou En - De Dagen van Oktober https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oiVUlotuPOw Nou En - De Dagen van Oktober (Lyric Translation) You can scream for love You can scream for the light But a scream that gets no answer If it's not addressed to anyone You can scream with anger You can scream in pain But the screaming makes you emptier You don't want to be an empty person And the days of October Pass slowly and gray Watch the clouds float over And there's no peace in me You can stare in silence And waiting for what's to come But the silence leads to despair The clock is ticking and it's getting late And at nightfall Is it getting so quiet around me And the days of October Pass slowly and gray Watch the clouds float over And there's no peace in me And the days of October Pass slowly and gray Watch the clouds float over And there's no peace in me Feel the days of October Feel the shear of the wind Feel the rain coming And a gray time begins Feel the rain coming and the gray time begins....that is asking for November Rain.... right? I mean this is a classical call for one of my G&R favs. Guns N' Roses - November Rain - Piano & Guitar Cover (Yuval Salomon & Kfir Ochaion) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=73xFBM08eq0 And yes I could not chose between the first and the second song, I just love how both version have their own freaking signature without doing damage to the original....so here is my Christmas present to you dear reader. Lluvia de Noviembre- Gun´s N Roses - Marly https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XI7EM2Z9cP0 For me that means end of the story....Ende Dezember probably my biggest fav from beautiful Annett. This song has such a sweet story... but I guess most of you are a bit rusty when it comes to German. Annett Louisan - Ende Dezember https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=E1xcM3j_OBo What the fluff are midnight gems? https://read.cash/@BitcoinBaby/the-best-covers-you-probably-never-heard-midnight-gems-vol10-cover-love-eb436a0c#what-the-fluff-are-midnight-gems Somewhere lost in time, trying to escape out of the rabbit hole back into the rat race there is a vacuum..... that´s the place where midnight gems are found. My Midnight Gems will try to uncover & recover those beautiful songs that nobody ever noticed or might have been forgotten. Who the fluff am I? https://read.cash/@BitcoinBaby/the-best-covers-you-probably-never-heard-midnight-gems-vol10-cover-love-eb436a0c#who-the-fluff-am-i Being a former DJ playing about everything and having an uncompleted study of radio journalism. I have been wanting to do this for years....Thought about it many nights and guess now it´s time to finally take it to the streets. Hope you enjoyed this slightly confronting wave of amazing music and you still feel like joining me on the next special edition trip as vol.44 of Midnight Gems is coming soon.
