For those of you that are new to my MidNight Gems series. Welcome to this nightly trip on which we will uncover & recover some amazing songs & covers.

And tonight I have been looking out the window and I saw just one thing....drops and more drops of rain.... which was very inspiring for tonights session. Because the sound of silence made room for the sound of rain.

1. The Sound of Rain - Sad Piano Song

And that brings me to my all-time favorite rainy song... and this version....it can only get better if it starts to rain harder, Right Ray.

2. Ray Charles - Rainy Night in Georgia

That was a way back song, but this one is also an almost golden oldie....almost just as old as I am....I can still remember hearing this on the ready and wanting to learn how to play Sax....well this one, Guru Josh and Candy D. Because when I want Sax I call Candy.

3. Skipper Wise "Standing Outside in the Rain"

Standing outside in the rain and being Dutch you always wonder....Why does it always rain on me? Well, I can answer that....it´s because of the country because since I moved to Spain ..... I stopped wondering.

4. Travis - Why Does It Always Rain On Me?

And in Spain most of the rain will fall on the empty country plane and those buckets of rain will not bother us too much.

5. NEKO CASE - BUCKETS Of RAIN

6. Laura Marling - A Hard Rain's A Gonna Fall (Bob Dylan cover)

But did you ever hear this one ...please do as it´s such a beautiful little gem (but could not embed a private video). This is A classic if you ask me and the next one is close to classical for sure.

7. Simply Three - Rain

DARN, already time for an amazing cover #8 originally by John Hiatt but this version is by the Dutch Queen of country.

Who the fluff am I?

Being a former DJ playing about everything and having an uncompleted study of radio journalism. I have been wanting to do this for years....Thought about it many nights and guess now it´s time to finally take it to the streets.
