Your Target Achievement?
Question: What are you aiming at right now? - Let's call it a major goal you're looking to achieve within the next five years. What is that major thing you want to tick off and what actions are you taking to bring it to reality? What are the obstacles you face, how are you working to overcome them and what will it mean to achieve your goal?
This is one of the questions asked in the Weekend Community last week by Galenkp (G-Dog) and even though I did justice to it. I would love to explain it better here too.
I've always believed that I have endless potentials to do as many things that I can do. I've said it many times that I love to play football even though that dream died before I could even start. I ventured into writing too and I'm also into counselling - therapy for those who need it. My major goal is to make people better than they met me.
I noticed that many people don't know who to trust because of how they have been betrayed many times before now. It's hard to open up to someone when you don't know what they would say behind you when there is an argument. In the world that we live today, there is little loyalty flying around because everyone wants to be right and they only look out for themselves without caring if anyone's ox is gored.
We all need help and even though many people don't like asking for it but the truth is, most people are not getting answers to their problems because they have chosen not to read. Humans are so slow to learn because they don't like anything challenging what they know and they always delude themselves that they have gotten everything under control without seeking for help.
This is why most people won't even read books or read posts because they feel they have the monopoly of knowledge. Reading and learning from others is for us to learn how to avoid mistakes that can be avoided and get things done faster which took others longer. We can make things better if only we can learn. No one knows it all and the better we start learning, the better. When we read a book, we are learning in hours what took someone years to understand. This is why the next 5 years of my life, I want to make sure I write my books and have them published.
I might be too old to kick a ball or have a career in playing football but I'm sure not too old to write about my experiences in life and share it with others who might be going through something similar. When people can relate to what you have been through, it makes it easier for them because they won't feel alone anymore and they don't even need to spill the beans to anyone they are not sure of trusting anymore.
I have dragged it for too long because I know it's not time bound but I don't have to allow that to happen anymore. I always believed in timing but I know that we don't have to wait for the right time always because it might never come, so we have to make the time right. We have to turn imperfect situations to our advantage and that's what I have learnt in life. Whatever you want to do, do those things before the burden to do them leaves you. When preparation meets opportunity, success is inevitable.
The only thing in my head right now is to finish writing my book and then get my book published. I have two ideas in my head already and I'm hoping to write on the two simultaneously and I know it's something that I can pull off. It has taken far too long for me with procrastination here and there. I sometimes think I have 80 years of experience in my young body and I've always believed that I have the words to change a life, at least. Changing the world starts with just one person. If you want to change the world, just try and change someone and watch the rest unfold because when a changed person decides to change another person's view too, then the effect can grow like wild fire.
One thing I've always learned about books is that, when you read, you are reading other people's experiences because we don't have all the time to make all the mistakes. It's to our advantage when we read what others have gone through so we can make better and informed decisions. I have the words to change the world and I am done biting my tongue. A lot of people have the voice of a lion but they have allowed their tongue to be tamed. This world would be a better place if we can help someone with the things we have been through.
You went through the things you went through so that you can tell your story to anyone in similar situation and I've found a way to do mine and that's to write my books. We all have different ways to do that. Others teach it, others blog it, others go into therapy, others into speaking engagements and so on...however you feel comfortable, please, never shy from telling your story because that might be what someone needs to turn his or her life around.
I don't want to wait for the next 5 years to have this sorted out. I was supposed to have published it on October 20th last year on my birthday but I didn't make it happen. This year, I am putting all hands on the deck alongside the plans on the initiative I once mentioned about getting a funding to help children into school and crafts. I want to tick at least a book off for this year and I believe it's achievable.
It's a lifelong dream about my experiences in life...my upbringing...my decisions...bad choices, the things life threw at me and general knowledge of what life is supposed to. I love real-life writing so people can relate to it rather than fiction, even though I've tried my hands on that a few times too.
Maybe my Read Cash friends would be the first to order the eCopy and it would mean a lot to me. Until then...we have to wait.
Thank you for your time.
My pen doesn't bleed, it speaks. I am love's chemical content in human form and that's why I advise people to take a dose of "Olawalium" daily. 🙈
Kindly follow me on Noise.Cash... I am trying to engage more with people and connect with everyone with this account. I look forward to seeing you there... You can say hello to me there so we can get familiarized as well. Click here.
Yeah, people will learn and change when they're ready to, and not before; I've watched many people who have needed to change some things, but have not had the incentive to do it despite being shown the benefits and achievements from it. But everyone in their own time, and it's good you have your aspirations to get your book published @olasquare, best wishes for that to happen, From Dreemport.
