This Or That? Fashion Edition
It's a new month.
We're halfway through the year and I'm excited about the remaining half amidst my confliction. I had envisioned myself differently at the beginning of this year and I'm nowhere near that but my mood right now is to live life a day at a time.
Today, I'm writing on the fashion edition of this and that.
This Or That?
**Long hair or short hair?**
**Beard or clean-shaven?**
**Dress or skirt?**
**Jeans or sweatpants?**
**T-shirt or sweater?**
**Ring or necklace?**
**Ears pierced or nose pierced?**
**Straight hair or curly hair?**
**High heels or flats?**
**Watch or bracelet?**
Source https://blog.prepscholar.com/this-or-that-questions
1) Long hair or short hair?
I would love to have really long hair, my current hair length isn't so short but isn't long either. There's a reason I love making really long braids with attachments, it's easier to flaunt. I feel most ladies love long hair, I mean that's why long human hair wigs are so expensive.
2) Beard or Clean-shaven?
I don't know actually, I'm not a man but I love to tease my guy friends that don't have beards😂. I call them ladies but it's just a joke. I don't really have a preference, I love K-pop idols and Korean guys are mostly beardless. I love me some Jung kook, RM, and Vee Oppas. There are other important features than having beards or being clean-shaven.
3) Dress or shirt?
I wear shirts more but do I prefer them? I'm not sure, maybe I do. I love dresses but I don't wear them, I don't even have a lot. I think it's because I find shirts more comfortable.
4) Jeans or sweatpants?
Not saying I prefer jeans would be betraying that one friend that has been with me through all. I mostly wear Jeans, shirts, and sneakers. It's just so easy, no stress.
5) T-shirt or Sweatshirt
I think my choice is weather dependent. If it's rainy or cold, I'll go for a sweatshirt but on any other day, a t-shirt is more comfortable. I don't want to imagine how uncomfortable it'll be under the Intense sun rays of Lagos. It's bound to make a person angry unnecessarily.
6) Rings or necklace?
I love both but I think I prefer rings even though I wear necklaces more. I get rashes on my neck when I wear some necklaces, I guess I'm allergic to a component there. I'm not sure but I hope to find out. Rings are cute and I hope to get more soonest.
7) Ears pierced or nose pierced?
My ears are pierced so I guess I prefer that but I wonder how I'll look if I get a nose piercing. Maybe, sometime in the future, I'll do it.
8) Straight hair or curly hair?
Straight hair looks nice. Maybe it's because I have curly hair. Straight hair looks longer too.
9) High Heels or Flats?
Heels, baby. Heels. Ladies look so nice wearing heels. I love how confident I look wearing high heels. I just love everything about it. I love the way I walk, I love the way it fits a dress perfectly. The feeling is golden.
10) Watch or bracelet?
Both, are lovely accessories. I wear both and I'm not sure I can choose one over the other.

Problems Start Easily Like A Bicycle.
Lead image by me.
The title is the popular Nigerian sentence '*wahala be like bicycle, easy to start*' and no truer statement has been said about wahala (problems).
I was thinking of what to write today when I thought of things that happened when I was younger where the sentence '*wahala be like bicycle*' fits.
Storytime
**The first instance**
One fateful day, in primary 3 of a locally known school, one of my classmates brought a lot of money to school. I can't remember the exact amount of money but it couldn't have been more than 2000 nairas but compared to the 50 nairas I collected every day for snacks (I took food to school from home) it was a lotttt of money to us.
The boy decided to sponsor almost everyone's break time goodies except me and some people that he didn't like. I fought with him a few days prior to that day. I was sad, my classmates ate various snacks, and I ate the food I brought from home. I was a little girl, it was natural to not like being excluded, and begging people for food wasn't an option. My mom made sure of that.
You know Nigerian mothers, if an outsider asks you if you're hungry, you mustn't say yes, if you eat outside or beg for food, you have automatically unlocked beatings.
The next day, our headteacher came looking for this boy with his mother. Apparently, he stole his mother's money and he was asked to fish out those he spent the money with to serve the punishment.
Guess who was grinning ear to ear, definitely not the punished ones. At that moment, I think I could relate to those motivational quotes😂.
I sympathized with my friends that were punished though, I couldn't understand why they had to be punished.
He was the one that offered to buy it for them, they didn't know he stole the money but they should have asked where he got the money but I doubt he'd have told them the truth.
It makes me think twice about receiving help from people. 'What if I get punished for it?'
**The second instance**
I watched a movie a while ago, I stumbled on it. It was about a man that was wooed by a rich woman, he wasn't that poor but the woman was so rich that he couldn't resist despite that he was engaged to another. He ruthlessly broke his fiancee's heart and his family also supported his decision because the rich lady sent them loads of money. When he asked her for her source of wealth, she told him and it seemed legit. He even introduced his married friend to the rich woman's friend (she was also rich).
At the end of the day, he discovered that the two women did a kind of money ritual that required them to select someone they'll sponsor when their death date is near so they'll all die together. They all ended up dying.
This just makes me think of the kind of problem money brings. Not having money is sad but you finally find someone to help you financially, you'll be scared to accept it because you don't know the source of the wealth.
Even if you don't believe in rituals and diabolical stuff, what if you were in a tight spot and your tech bro friend offers to bail you out and you get arrested later along with your friend because your friend was involved in cybercrime and his bank statements show that he regularly sent money to you?
Crazy stuff!
Getting in trouble because of something you're unaware of is one of the saddest things that can happen. I'm pretty sure, you'll wish you could be Barry Allen for the slightest moment and just go back in time and undo whatever you did that caused it.
Have you been put in trouble before because of help rendered to you?
What happened? Please share your experiences.
Thank you so much, from my readers to my upvoters to my sponsors and @TheRandomRewarder . I love you all and do not take it for granted.❤❤. Thank you @Aimure for renewing your sponsorship🤗

It's Okay To Not Be Okay
Lead image by me.
'It's okay to not be okay' is a sentence that'll be awfully familiar if you watch k-drama, the drama focused on mental health but I'm taking it out of the context of the drama as I'm focusing on talking about your feelings here. I'm here to say it's okay to be not fine.
It's me again, I've not published in a while, but I've been reading your articles, I've not just had money to tip your articles, BCH dipped and my little money dipped with it.
I was given more duties where I work about 2 weeks ago and as usual, I have trouble balancing two things. I'm definitely a type of person that won't be able to cheat on my partner smoothly😂, I'll get caught. I wanted to take a break here for a few days and it led to my hiatus. The funny thing is I took a break from all my duties since about a week ago and just binge-watched my favorite series.
I haven't even read any new book in two weeks( I finally started one yesterday ) my friend took me seriously when I said that, I could be writing an exam in two days but I'll find time to read a chapter or two.
Tell me a better healing technique than watching your faves kiss and in love. Nothing can beat that.
**I have a question today though.**
I was actually so stressed that there was no day I didn't take NSAIDs because of the headache and neck pain I was having but if someone asked me 'Dee, how are you? I automatically say 'fine'
**Why do we mostly say fine?**
I say fine in place of 'I'm hurting, I have pains that won't just go away, I just want to sleep without thinking of deadlines'
I say fine in place of 'I'm frustrated that my phone is giving me issues, it doesn't allow me to maximize my time efficiently'
I say fine in place of 'my network is so badddd , especially on my bed🤕🤕, that is so sad, and I think it's only because of my phone because other people using the same network provider as me in my house don't have such issues'
It's just crazy how much we hold back and I don't even blame anyone because one of the terrible feeling to have is the feeling that you just overshared.
I don't feel that a lot but I've felt that on a few occasions and I guess it made me closed off.
It's okay to say how you truly feel when you're asked how you are, it's okay to share with your closest friends.
I sometimes automatically say fine because of three other reasons
1) **It might be a routine question**: I've asked people about their well-being because I'm supposed before I get to the point of my call or message, I feel we all do that. Imagine discussing life issues with people who just asked for asking sake. Tough😩.
2) **An off mood**: most times I'm not just in the mood for long conversations, I envision that they'll ask me why I don't feel fine and I'll be expected to actually bare my feelings and I'm not in the mood for all that. I just say fine and everything is fine.
3) **Avoiding being a burden**: Nigerians are crazy, if a Nigerian guy asks 'how are you?' and you say 'I'm not fine', so many thoughts start forming in his head which mostly leads to him thinking you have financial issues and they don't press further because they don't have money to give. I'm sorry if I'm generalizing it but it happens. Some ladies are funny though, they are not always fine and when they ask, it's money issues and they expect the guy to assist them. So I don't always like to give that impression, it's not a cool label.
My point is that it's okay to tap out, it's okay not to be okay, and it's okay to take a break. Since I took a break, my headaches became less frequent, the neck pains occurred less and I was happy.
You should be willing to talk about your problems to people that want to listen.
**NOW, HOW ARE YOU?**
I'm willing to listen🤗🤗
I started reading this book yesterday, I've had it for a while, but I wonder why I never started it😩😩😩, it's titled 'the seven husbands of Evelyn Hugo' by Taylor Jenkins. I should write a review soon. You should read it.

Corporate Thieves
Lead image from unsplash.
Holaaaaaaaa, it's been a week. The past week has been eventful, the highlight of it is that I wasn't well, I think it's because I slept too much at first. I slept too much because there was no power supply to charge my phone, there was a problem with the grid, I think and my phone decided to not charge with the other means I tried. It has been a week.
***Before I go on, I would like to thank my sponsors, I know I've overused this phrase but they're really the best 😩. Please check them out.***
Do you remember the who we called thieves growing up? Those our mates that stole our biros and pencils. Those that took our monies from our bags without our knowledge.
Then we grew to know of armed robbers, those who took it by force. You just knew these people were there to take someone else's property.
I am here to say that thieves are now gutsier than they were. They now convince you with big grammar to let go of your hard-earned money.
People engage in so many Ponzi schemes, they tell you how you can make $500 in a week with just $75 and convince people to go for it.
I have to admit, I have done my fair share of get-rich schemes but I honestly am not willing to be involved in anything I need to refer people to earn.
Imagine if your boss at the company you work at told you to refer 10 people to work at your company for you to collect your salary at the end of the month.
So, I need to tell you, that Ponzi schemes are becoming more organized, and here's my reason.
A friend of mine messaged me a few weeks ago saying she recommended me for something and that someone would call me to explain it to me. She specifically requested that I should keep an **open mind.** I said I could do that. When the representative called she talked about how my friend has specifically recommended me to them for one economic design (E.D) 3.0 thingy for financial independence.
She said there was a program that Sunday, and If I wasn't going to attend, I should inform them so they won't save my slot. You need to see the way I felt important. I cancelled since I wasn't free that Sunday at that time and asked them to inform me if any other slot was available.
So they called last week Thursday or so saying that there was another program that Saturday at a hall at the University of Lagos. I get to visit my school ( I haven't been in a while, we're on strike) and attend the special program? Goodie, talk about killing two birds with one stone. The caller also told me to keep an **open mind**, I guess I should have been suspicious then.
The program started at noon but because of traffic, I got there a few minutes past 1. I saw so many people there, the big hall was full, I saw different caliber of people both old and young. The hall was almost filled.
I got there in time for the guest speaker to speak. She was fair, you could see her skin glowing from where I was sitting and I was sitting at the very end. She dressed well. She talked about how her health suffered when she was working 9 am-5 pm. She talked about not being able to afford your needs and wants.
She got me all sad about my life like everyone else there. I was curious about the solution she would offer and soon enough she did. She solution she offered was buying some sort of package depending on the one you can afford.
Your lowest package was about 83 dollars ( 50 thousand nairas) and the highest was about $1665 ( about 1m nairas).
There were several packages, I think about six of them. For each of the packages, there were ranging referral bonuses and even bonuses when the person you referred refers another person and it goes like that.
So if I had paid for a package, they would ask me for about 50 numbers on my contact list and call them, so my friend was doing the whole thing and that's why they called me.
They preyed on people's vulnerability. They asked questions like 'don't you want to give your children the life they deserve? Don't you want them to be proud of you?
They even accepted it in installments and would register you when you finished payments.
The whole thing was just a well-schemed Ponzi, in my opinion. They mentioned getting some products but the main way to earn was to get people to register too.
What do you think? I *might* be wrong. I just kept thinking about it. I wouldn't even pay for it if I had a spare 50, 000 naira. Who would I even refer? My friends wouldn't be willing to bet that amount, we've been through a lot together😂😩.
The man that talked to me said I was being negative, that if I knew how legit it was, I would borrow the money and register. I was tempted to ask him if he would borrow me the money and I would repay him when I earned😄😄.
Corporate thieves, you should have seen the number of people that paid. Several people left too though.
All I could see was their marketing strategy, and how they pulled gullible people in. It was crazy but then I might be wrong, it might not have been a scam but then, I guess I won't find out.
I wasn't going to find out at my expense.😂😂.

Bittersweet May
Lead image by me.
It's the first day of June. Happy new month friends. I can't believe we're almost halfway through the year, I still remember screaming 'happy new year'. It feels like we're on some sort of fast-forward.
I started this Bingo thingy and the first question was 'how was may in one word?'. To think I was the one that included the question among 14 others.
I paused, with random memories swivelling. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I was about to conclude that it was like any other month, the one where I felt lonely even though I'm surrounded by people, the one I felt sad for days, the one where I hated the federal government and ASUU but then I remembered my birthday, the 11th of May. That was definitely the highlight of May. I wrote a bit about my birthday here. https://read.cash/@Deeepensiverse/yayyy-it-was-my-birthday-27ee8e57
So May was bittersweet, when I think of bittersweet, I think of how bitter paracetamol tastes when I chew it and the sweet aftertaste. That's why I love chewing paracetamol.
My earnings in May were okay compared to April, I also started a lot of things that I've not completed. Procrastination at its peak. In my defense, there should be like 36 hours in a day, 24 hours isn't it at all.
May was full of Deadlines, from read.cash to others and I really tried publishing an article here every day but most times I just slept off, sometimes there were electricity issues. I tried, I really did, I think I wrote about twenty articles. Hopefully, I'll write more in June.
June so far has been okay, it started pretty great, not to jinx it. Some of my closest friends are celebrating their birthdays this month. I pray I don't end up forgetting, I'm not sure if it's right to say I'm forgetful, I forget some important things and remember absolutely unimportant information.
One of my friends celebrated her birthday today. She's such a sweet girl.
Today started pretty great until I had this excruciating pain in my neck. I thought I could sleep it off but I just wasted time because I had to take diclofenac before I was relieved of the pain.
I spent the rest of the day watching a Mushy kdrama titled shooting stars. Needless to say, I was giddy for the rest of the day, I can't even wait to continue.
I'm trying hard not to have expectations for June because expectations often lead to disappointments but June will be good❤.
**JUNE REMINDERS**
*Make time for fun, rest, and love*
*Authenticity makes you shine*
*You are worthy of love and attention*
*Always be kinder than you need to*
*You always have a choice*
*Growth isn't always visible*
I saw this on a friend's status, it stated that it was by _OurMindfulLife. In some weird way, it gave me an outline for June. I just hope this month favors me in every aspect of my life.
Happy New month once again.

Questions and answers
Lead image from Unsplash.
Howdy? It's the last day of the month, happy new month in advance 🤗🤗. I decided to answer these questions following @Bisolammy 's article a while ago. You can check it out here. https://read.cash/@Bisolammy/just-questions-53d50116
Can you date someone who has slept with or dated your friend?
Predictably, the answer is NO. It'll be totally weird, there are plenty of fishes in the ocean, I should be able to do better than that. Funny thing is that I'm contradicting myself compared to what I told my sister a few minutes ago. So, my sister was talking about Grownish, about how the main character Zoey and her lover Aaron deserve the happy ending they had. Zoey has dated another person in their immediate friend group called Luca and Aaron also did a friend with benefit thingy with Anna after Zoey picked Luca over him, who is also in their friend group. It was so very messed up, but I'm happy they ended up together and i rooted for them BUT that's fiction.
In the real world, if I have a crush on a guy, my friend should not be thinking of dating him🤷♀️, same as if I had a history with someone, my friend shouldn't think of dating him. So, out of the millions of people in this world, it's my ex that's your one true love, lol. I definitely won't accept it and if she forfeits the friendship to be in the relationship, they'll eventually break up and I'll laugh in their faces and probably insert some '*breakfast na national cake*' soundtrack and post about karma regularly on my status😁.
Call me unreasonable or whatnot but that's just facts, isn't she supposed to feel weird kissing the lips that previously kissed me? I'll just assume that she probably liked him while I was dating him.
Can you get married to someone whose genotype isn't compatible with yours?
This isn't even supposed to be a question. It should be NO, except you're thinking of Preimplantation genetic testing (PGT) through in vitro fertilization process to have children that aren't sickle cell carriers. If you have the AS genotype and your fiancee also has the same genotype and you get married in hopes that your children won't have the SS genotype then that's wickedness. Sickle cell carriers go through a lot and you shouldn't willingly subject them to such pain.
You should make this a second or third date question, so you'll decide then if you can continue the relationship or move on.
Can you continue in an abusive relationship?
No, I can't. This is one reason marriage scares me. The abuse may not even be physical, there's emotional abuse too. Everyone talks about watching out for the red flags which I am and we should but you can never truly know someone. What if there are no signs and he just changes overnight and exerts violence at every opportunity, talks down at me every time?
I'm definitely a forever kinda person but I can't continue in an abusive marriage. It's better to be separated or divorced than dead.
People who abuse their partners, male or female, or in any type of way should be called monsters. How do you do that to someone you claim you love?
Can you marry someone that has no Job?
Nope. Will I survive on just love? Whether you're a man or a woman, you shouldn't marry a liability except you like it🤷♀️ but you shouldn't. Also, you have no Job and you want to get married? Great priorities, chief.
Marriage shouldn't always be suffer-head, a popular musician once said '*love is sweet o, when money enter love is sweeter*'.
This is different from losing one's job when married, the couple can always work around that but marrying someone that doesn't have a source of income isn't a wise decision in my opinion.
Thank you❤❤

Which is worse?
Lead image by me.
Today was eventful for me, all I could think of was the importance of money. A family friend moved to a new house and that house was mind blowing. The house looked like those picture-perfect houses you see on TV. Money is good😩.
I just kept thinking of what to write today and I remembered this prompt I read by @Jumper-01 a few weeks ago. He stated in his article that the creator of this prompt is @thien.bakai. https://read.cash/@Jumper-01/what-option-is-worse-16e5ee5f
Which is worse?
Late for a date or break a promise?
People break deep, lifelong promises every dayyyyy, and I find it quite irritating because why make a promise you know you won't be able to keep. Promises mean nothing these days but despite that, I like being a woman of my word to some certain extent. So I try to avoid breaking promises and being late for a date could have various factors, besides, we could always reschedule. Breaking promises is so much worse for me.
Get rejected by a crush or a crush doesn't know your feeling?
You think I'll willingly allow someone to hurt me? Nahhh. I'm a woman and as much as it sucks to admit it despite the supposed 'wokeness' of the generation, asking a man out doesn't end well. About 70% of men will date you because he's probably flattered and can't say no and because some men aren't reasonable, you'll be the one making all the efforts and that sucks.
So no, if I had a crush, I wouldn't be able to confess, I'd rather eat my hat. It's better to give hints, if he figures it out and makes the first move, goody and if he doesn't, I'll just admit my L and move on. So getting rejected is worse.
A hero dies in a movie or a dog?
I'd prefer it if a dog dies, maybe it's because I've never had a pet but I really don't care. No offense to those who have dogs, I don't just understand. Maybe I'll get a dog soon. A hero dying is worse to me. I hate it when people die.
Send screenshot to the wrong person or like your crush's older photos?
The latter is definitely worse. For me to screenshot something to send to someone, it's probably nothing confidential, I don't trust it not to leak 😂but liking my crush's old photos would be so obvious, I should have just told him 'I like you' then😂😂. If someone liked my older photos, in my head I'll probably be like 'You like what you see?'🙈😂🙉
Too cold or too hot?
Heat is worse. Heat comes with a lot of discomforts, walking under some intensity of sun rays in Lagos is bound to make you despise heat. I can always cover myself up in cold weathers than feeling uncomfortable in hot ones.
Can't clean your tongue or can't clean your teeth?
Think about it, how would it feel to brush and just wash your tongue? It won't feel like cleaning up at all. Not cleaning my teeth is worse. It'll be more disgusting.
Be single or have no friends?
Having no friends is absolutely worse, what would I do with all my time? Who will I hang out with? Friends can put you out of singleness, you know? In fact, the best relationships occur when friends transition to lovers. It'll be like those love stories themed 'from friends to lovers' or so.
Friends upload your ugly pictures or dig up your old pictures?
Them uploading my ugly pictures is worse. I don't know how I'll find those they term ugly because I don't like half of the pictures my friends like. You can imagine what their supposed ugly one will look like. I was a cutie as a child, I don't know how I grew up to now😂😂😂. I'm extremely proud of my baby pictures. As far as the old pictures are strictly baby pictures, if not 🙉🙉.

Childhood was underrated
Lead image and other images from Unsplash.
Today was hectic, I walked long distances and I couldn't use my phone. I had an errand to run at ten in the morning and I finished around five. I ended up missing three deadlines due to it, I rushed to finish one of them but completing the other two today doesn't look feasible to me at all.
I was so tired but I couldn't bail on read.cash. I had to write this with extreme fatigue and hunger. Today's experience made me realize the whole responsibilities of adulthood.
I think those thoughts have been seeping into my head since morning especially after I watched a video of five or six people singing a song about how Adulthood is a scam.
For the longest time, I wanted to be a grown-up, to make my own decisions. I'm home because of ASUU strike but the main reason I miss school is not because of the lectures or the hostel, maybe a bit about my friends but it's mostly because of freedom. In school, I dictated the time I got back to my hostel, I did anything I wanted ( nothing wild just to be clear 😂😂, I'm a good girl).
I miss the '*come downstairs, I'm outside your hostel*' from my friends. I miss late hangouts with @Greatwolfman and @Gaftekloriginal. Sometimes I would take a stroll and randomly meet @Tomi-Ajax and @HappyBoy. School was a vibe but I'm not sure it **really** dawned on me that I'll never be in the school forever.
I mean I've thought about it but I'm not sure I've thought about it, if that makes sense to you.
I just really realized that my whole responsibilities will be on me, I knew but I've always looked at the future positively. I mean, where do I even get the money for the type of lifestyle I want? I definitely can't fund it with the amount of money I have.
I've been on this platform for 9 months but being on and off because of school work (I'm extremely bad at multitasking) had not really favored me in terms of my earnings.
My thoughts just kept spiraling, It led to me thinking 'What if I become a bum when I'm like a real adult?' I'm an adult now In all ramifications but I consider someone above 25 a real adult unlike people like me that are just on the cusp of adulthood.
I then realized that I never maximized my childhood, I never appreciated it. When I was young, I focused more on growing old and now that I'm older, I miss childhood.
If I could go back in time, I would definitely enjoy it more among other things I would love to do.
I saw various posts on children's day yesterday, it made me reminisce. Those times I has no worries, exams weren't even hard, and you don't have to worry about some professor's tests and stuff.
**I remember** playing hide and seek and cooking with sand too. I think I've always known I'll be a good cook. You should have seen the kind of delicacies I made with sand, stones, and all sort of plants.
**I remember** how much I loved to hopscotch popularly called Suwe. I was one of the best then.
I was mostly an indoor child so **I remember** my many fairytale books and my love for Barney and high school musical. How could I not love Troy Bolton and his blue eyes? I can't believe I thought Troy and Gabriella were going to get married, thinking about it now, Troy was stupid not to have gone to that his dream school because of a woman, thinking about it now makes me annoyed.
I had a Nickelodeon phase too, Icarly, Hannah Montana, Victorious, Big time rush, Sam and Cat, Thundermans, etc
This was before I moved to kdramas😂😂, and I started juggling them with Nickelodeon and Step up movies.
I'm in full-on nostalgia mode right now, I just miss childhood.
@Aimure Thanks for sponsoring me, one telephone juice and speedy for you😁😁 ( I miss those our snacks too).

Brainy And Ugly Or Airheaded Beauty?
Lead image by me.
Hola, May 27th is Children's day in my country, happy children's day!
I have three questions today, I've been thinking about them for a while and I thought of asking for your opinion.
1) Are gifts debts?
My focus here is on birthdays. I don't know about you but I feel absolutely bad when I don't get my friends anything for their birthdays and they go all out for mine.
When someone gifts me, I feel compelled to do the same. You might think that gifts aren't supposed to be so but in actual fact, it'll be nice to be reciprocated.
It's like a man that loves a woman and tells her he loves her and that she doesn't have to say it back but if she doesn't tell him she loves him after being together for while he might start questioning her feelings for him. He'll be happy if his feelings are reciprocated.
You'll also feel unappreciated if you're always giving your all to someone while the person doesn't seem to want to do the barest minimum.
Therefore, I see gifts as debts so I always try my best to reciprocate gifting but I'm also very petty, I'm not proud of it but I don't think it's important to wish someone that deem it important to wish me a happy birthday.
That reminds me, I've had an issue with my wallet recently and that's why it seems like I've not been reading your articles recently, I have but I feel weird dropping a comment without tipping especially to people that always tip my articles but thankfully, it's resolved now so I'll visit more articles now.
2) Appearance over intelligence?
I'm an advocate for marrying someone you're attracted to but does that take precedence over intelligence?
I saw a tweet a few days ago, paraphrasing 'imagine not being able to do your maths assignment because your father went for looks'
I like to think I'm sapiosexual but this made me pause.
Intelligence is genetic, I know a family, the two children of that family are dull. Not only school dull but dull in all aspects. It's the way the parents discipline the children for getting low grades for me. So, I took time to observe them and I discovered that the parents weren't smart either but then everyone's parents were the best in school💀.
So, would you go for looks or intelligence?
Think about this, would you rather be with a dwarf who has receding hairline, and one whose inner beauty can only be seen by the one who loves them but has an IQ of 150 or someone with that eight packs that you want to lick, has the height, looks straight out of your imagination, has that body that rivalled Nicki Minaj's own, has everything you ever dreamed of in a woman but is an airhead, like totally unintelligent, someone whose IQ is barely a real number?
Think about it, you can only choose one. My sister said she'll go for the latter, that she has enough intelligence to cover the children😂😂.
If you choose intelligence, remember you'll be risking your children's looks because there's no probability that your children will swim towards your side of the genetic pool.
3) Do **you** cringe?
Do you cringe when you remember something embarrassing you did and just facepalm and screech?
I do this a lot, and when I do, my sisters look at me weirdly as if I've did something otherworldly. Please tell me you do it too, **please tell me I'm normal**😂😂.
It's always that point I wish I had the power to rewind time and undo that embarrassing experience.
***I love you guys***
Whew, finally, this is the second draft of this article. We all know the first draft is always the best but oh well. I didn't realize it didn't save and I begrudgingly had to start all over.
Thank you for reading🤗

It's A Scary World Out Here
Lead image by me
True friendships have to be one of the rarest things you can have. The society is plagued with a bunch of unfriendly friends. The irking thing is that I see it occur right in front of me every time.
I wrote an article a few weeks ago about friends and acquaintances, about drawing a clear line or boundary. It can help us know our real friends and differentiate them from unfriendly friends.
But honestly, it's not enough. I think we need to come up with some bad friends filter system.
Something happened years ago where I live now, I was new there so I made friends with some of my neighbors. I thought we were extremely close until one day.
That fateful day, one of them came to inform me of my supposed friends' discussion with other people. They had not only been gossiping amongst themselves but with other people about some issues they had with me. The one that came to meet me probably thought I would be grateful. I later learnt that she was two-faced and was probably expecting me to flare up and talk bad about them too so she would inform them too.
I merely looked at her and expressed my gratitude for the piece of information. I was extremely grateful because I won't have known if she hadn't told me. I cut them off since then. Then they started telling everyone I was proud. It was a crazy period for me then.
Thank God I had my phone, I didn't need their company to live my life.
This article was triggered by something that happened this morning.
There's something I've noticed about gossiping, if you join a group of people gossiping, you never know when it's your turn.
Minus even gossiping with people, have you ever been in a gathering of people talking about other people that you know that once you leave that place, they gossip about you too?
It made me remember a set of roommates I had one year in the University, they were four friends, two of them were my roommates, the other two visited regularly and I saw a lot. They always gossiped about other people and it wasn't surprising to see them gossip about each other to the other roommates and me and each other in groups of twos and threes.
What they said about each other always shocked me, they said so many vile things that shouldn't even be said about one's enemies. They'll be trash-talking one of them and when the person enters, they'll be all smiles and cute. They would even be all over each other on their social media.
What kind of friend does that? Even if a friend did something, I feel talking to the friend is the best approach.
I'm the kind of friend that'll call my friend out on their bullshit and I can say anything I say about them in their absence when they're present. It's that simple. So I didn't understand why they did that.
I can understand if they weren't friends but they claimed to be besties, I was actually scared. I thought 'if they can say these things about their supposed besties, what are they saying about me?' I can't imagine what they would have said since we weren't friends.
This was the same thing that happened this morning, people who claimed to be as close as a family saying things that should not be said in the absence of the other. It's a scary world indeed.
We should really choose our friends carefully, if those friends can do that to their friends then they can do anything including physical harm.
I saw a post on Instagram about someone's death after being poisoned by someone everyone said was his best friend.
It's an extremely scary world.
I pray God protects us from friends that have worse intentions than strangers. I pray we don't make friends with unfriendly friends.
Amen!
Second Chances Despite The Populace Belief In Love
Lead image from Unsplash.
We live in a really messed up world. A world where promises and commitments mean nada, the one where vows are just said for saying sake rather than put into action.
Commitment: a word known by many but only a few put it into action. Gone are the days where for better for worse actually meant for better for worse. Forever seems like a fallacy, something laughed at by people.
We laugh when people mention *breakfast, '*Las las, everybody go chop breakfast' is the common saying. It's embedded in us to think that relationships won't work out, it's subconscious. I do it too. A few days ago, I saw a video of two youths displaying their love on Tiktok, the first thing I thought of was 'Breakfast na national cake oo'. Why does it have to be so?
I'm careful of the way I love couples, especially celebrities, I remember the way I loved Justin Bieber and Selena Gomez when they were together, I'm sure I was almost as hurt as Selena when they broke up, I was so invested in the couple's relationship and it never worked out and it's like a defense mechanism now to think all celebrity relationship will go south even though it might not.
It's hard for people to let go and love due to all these. I wrote a fictional story titled you and I on this platform, you should read it.
You and I part 1 https://read.cash/@Deeepensiverse/you-and-i-part-1-2af558f8
You and I part 2 https://read.cash/@Deeepensiverse/you-and-i-part-2-d0a4c469
In the second part, two comments got my attention.
@Kacy01 said
*What a romantic display of affection there! Love is real though but the disadvantages it comes with these days is far bigger than its advantages*.
@MichaelBCH commented that
This is interesting actually, I loved *every inch of it. Kudos to you. But sorry to disappoint you, I am a Philophobic and sometimes Aromantic person, I dunnot believe anything like love does exist in this 21st century. Marriage..?. To hell with whatever that means. Lol*
I asked him why and he said
*Lies, and betrayal you know, believe me have seen enough. Girls are just*****
These days being in a relationship is transactional. Ladies date men for money and men date ladies for different reasons including steadily getting laid. No one really wants to put in the work. It's more of like a 'thank you, next' situation.
Why proves the whole 'relationship is scam' thing?
There are several factors but these two are the main ones.
**Unfaithfulness**
Discovering an unfaithful partner has to be the most common deal-breaker in relationships. That kind of trust break is very difficult to recover from. Most men are scum, women are scum advocates do so due to unfaithfulness.
Apart from even getting cheated on, cheating with people also does things to an individual's brain.
I saw those threads on Twitter about how the majority of supposed best friends were open to having a sexual relationship with their best friend that is in a relationship.
If I was sexually involved with someone who was supposed to be my bestie who had a girlfriend and I had a boyfriend who had a bestie, I would definitely be suspicious and would definitely think they were sexually involved.
**Lies**
Lies and unfaithfulness go hand in hand. My grandma tells me something since I was a kid. She says it in my language but it means 'If you lie, you'll steal, and if you steal, you'll definitely cheat.
Imagine being with someone you'll have to confirm the time when he or she says Goodnight. Tough.
The relationship won't work if you keep second-guessing everything he or she tells you.
**Despite all these, is it weird that I still believe in love?**
I believe that everything will work out well and you should too.
I remember when one of my friends messaged me a few days before Valentine's day to tell me he has a girlfriend. This was someone who had sworn off women because of a previous heartbreak. I know how badly he was hurt but I encouraged his healing process and his learning to love again.
He's happy now and you can be happy too.
**So, would you give love a second chance?**

Is Indifference To The LGBTQ Community Being Homophobic?
Lead image by me.
I'm aware that people have different sexualities, and the world has accepted homosexuality. With the awareness these days, I'm pretty sure even a child knows what being gay or lesbian is.
I couldn't publish an article yesterday because I was in an argument with some people. I'm in this book club and we pick a book every month to read and review at the end of the month.
This month's book is Ace of spades by Faridah Arike Iyimide. I haven't read it even though the review is next week because I'm a very fast reader and reading it early makes me forget some points when it's time for the review. I plan to read it on Friday.
Someone on the group chat mentioned that some of the characters were gay and it felt forced and unnecessary and that it was probably a marketing strategy by the author to sell more especially to the LGBTQ community and all hell broke loose.
Another person called those who felt uncomfortable due to the homosexual content homophobic, and that it is our duty to learn what LGBTQ was about and accept it. I was like what? In a country where homosexuality is illegal?
She started comparing being homophobic to racism and sexism. It was all messy. Different people had different analogies about this.
The first analogy
Someone said Homophobia is a type of fear just like being claustrophobic, is claustrophobia a problem? He also said people don't choose what they're afraid of just like how homophobic people don't choose their sexuality.
He said and I quote 'having phobias for different things is an innate nature of man. The fact the object of my phobia is gay people doesn't make me a bad person.
It's similar to having a phobia for large bodies of water. You don't because of that try to fill up every large body of water you come across.'
The second analogy
Swimming was used to substitute homosexuality in this context.
If you have a phobia of water, and you have a friend that loves swimming, you won't because of that friendship go swimming with that friend no?
The other party supporting LGBTQ then retorted
No, you won't go swimming, you do not have to go swimming
You should just understand that your friend likes swimming and not insult it or stop them from swimming
I then replied,
Exactly, the friend should also not convince me that swimming is right or wrong and make me accept it.
Accepting or understanding LGBTQ should be a choice and not shoved down our throats. These days, you're a bad person if you are homophobic or you don't just care. Which by the way, isn't legal
My point
**Homosexuality isn't legal in my country**, Nigeria. If caught, it's fourteen years in prison. The person kept stressing the fact that indifference is a bad thing and that it leads to homophobia which I don't agree with.
I kept telling her that I don't actually care about it, we are all entitled to do what we want, **it's a free world**. You have the free will to choose whether you're straight, gay, or non-binary and other people have the free will to be indifferent.
**What is wrong is when people are now actively against homophobia by calling them derogatory names, killing them, and doing all sorts of inhumane things to them.**
The world has accepted homosexuality and that should matter.
**What I have a problem with is trying to make everyone welcome, accept, and love LGBTQ. They just have to accept that not everyone is going to love them.**
For example, I'm a Christian, and in my religion, it is greatly frowned upon. I know people that are homophobic because of what the Bible says about it but then I chose not to be homophobic, I instead don't care and believe people can do what they want in terms of sexuality.
The whole argument ended messily as the avid supporters of LGBTQ started calling us names for being indifferent, I was pissed.
No one is saying to change your sexual orientation, our point was that we don't understand how it feels to be lesbian or gay and that's okay, we have our free will and can do what we want and we chose to be indifferent but they insisted that it wasn't okay.
**Is being indifferent wrong? I mean, I don't hate the people of the community, I see you as humans like me rather than defining you by your sexuality and that's still not okay? I don't understand.**
It felt to me like they want everyone to join the community.
**If you understand better, feel free to explain in the comment section. I'm open to corrections**.

Would you rather?
Lead image by me.
Hello friends. How are you doing? Yesterday was good, my phone was mostly dead throughout the day.
It's midnight in my country and it's very dark outside. I'm pretty sleepy but I really needed to publish this today. I'm trying to be consistent.
Today I'm going to be answering some random questions @Jumper-01 answered, you can check it out here. You can write your version and tag me. https://read.cash/@Jumper-01/another-set-of-random-questions-aa8e13b1
Would you rather:
1) Get even or get over it.
This is hard for me to answer. I think I'm both depending on the situation. When something happens, if it is something I can get even with I'll do that to the best of my ability because I'm not a fan of people who dish out what they can't tolerate. I can also be very petty so I try my best to get even but sometimes I like being the bigger person so I can also let go. I just get over it and move on. It depends on the situation really.
2) Have no internet or no phone
I'd rather have no internet, what's internet without a device to access it? It's been a while since I had no internet but I don't recall it being that bad. I'm assuming the phone would be mine so I'll have others things to keep me occupied. I have books I haven't started and some I started but haven't finished. I have movies and series that I have on my phone but haven't watched them. I have different playlists I'll listen to and sing along to. I won't be bored at all. I'll even play games and get creative with it.
3) Be invisible or read minds
This is not even debatable, I'll definitely choose mind reading. Invisibility to me has no real importance, you can eavesdrop but then you can only hear what people say out loud. The real joy is knowing what people don't say, their real emotions.
It'll come in handy in knowing people what people think about me or other people. Their raw emotions would be laid down right before me. It can be scary but it'll be fun.
But imagine being invisible and going in and out of different countries undetected. It'll be cool, travelling without passport but mind reading is cooler.
4) Be able to rewind time or be able to pause time
Rewinding time would be much more useful to me. I've made so many mistakes, many of which I wish I could undo. So many things have happened that I wish I had done things differently to avoid some catastrophes that occurred. I have so many memories and moments that I want to relive. I would do all these with the ability to rewind time. Pausing time would be tiring because I guess I'll be the only one not affected by the time pause, I'll be pretty bored. Plus I'll pretty much not be eager to pause time at this point in my life. I instead, want to move on already.
5) Breathe underwater or be able to fly
Hmmm, none actually, I find both weird and scary but if I really had to choose I think flying would be more useful. I would be able to cover many distances within a short time and besides underwater is dangerous. I'm sure I'm not the only one scared of sharks and other dangerous aquatic animals but then come to think of it, what if i fall while flying, that's bad. The both of them is scary.
6) Have one wish granted today or three wishes in ten years
Definitely one wish today, a lot can happen in ten years. What if the person granting the wish dies or something? What if I lose my memory and forget about the wishes?
I would have to think long and hard to think about the wish so I'll utilize the opportunity to the fullest.

Is There Such A Thing As Fate?
Lead Image from Unsplash.
Hola friends, How was your day? Mine was annoying and frustrating at first(which I'll discuss), the only good thing is that I slept. I can't tell the amount of time I did. I felt energized when I woke up, unlike the lethargy that enveloped me before I slept.
Fate or coincidence? This is what I kept asking myself during the early hours of today. So many events and I kept thinking all those events happening couldn't be a coincidence.
There is a general order to life, good and bad things happen, some events randomly occur and humans characterize some as coincidences and fate.
I have noticed a power supply problem where I live, anytime a problem arises, the house I live in would mostly be affected. I started thinking if someone has done something diabolical to the house because it can get frustrating.
So for the past few days, we've not had power supply only in our house because we exhausted our electricity credit and one of my neighbors refused to pay her bill so we can purchase more credits. It was finally paid today and buying the credits became the problem.
This was something that I could get on a normal day in under ten minutes but I tried everything with my extremely low battery but it wasn't just working out, there was a network issue. I even asked another person to try it, but it wasn't working out. I tried everything and I mean everything, draining my battery for it, still to no avail until a friend called that he had gotten it done after almost two hours, it took another 45 minutes for the token to show because of the application issues.
We finally got the token but it wasn't working, he made a mistake when he was typing the numbers. He corrected that and it finally went through only for the electricity meter to have another issue. We had to look for someone to fix that.
We barely had 30 minutes of electricity before it went off, my phone barely charged.
I just kept thinking 'What sort of luck is this? What are the odds that all those issues that occurred were just coincidental? Is there some bigger force at play here? Was it fated to happen?
Fate
Fate, according to the dictionary is the presumed cause, force or principle or divine will that predetermines events. It is also an event or a situation which is inevitable in the fullness of time.
It is also the development of events outside a person's control, regarded as predetermined by a supernatural power.
It's something that happens to a person or thing, especially something final or negative, such as death or defeat:
Coincidence
Coincidence of events is the appearance of a meaningful connection when there is none.
It is an occasion when two or more similar things happen at the same time, especially in a way that is unlikely and surprising.
It happens by chance or luck.
Many are quick to refer to good events that happen as fate. 'We're fated to be' they say. I've watched quite a number of Korean dramas and they have this saying 'if two people meet twice, it's fate but if they meet thrice by chance then it's fate'
Is there even such thing as fate? Does it even exist?
Is this life just full of bunches of coincidences masked as fate?
Can I think that so many sad things that have happened to me are supposed to be my fate?
Should we accept our fate?
Must we accept fate?
What happens If we reject the supposed fate?
Is Karma linked to fate?
I just kept thinking of all these today.
If you can answer some of my questions, or at least tell me what you think, I'll really appreciate it.

Six Signs Your Mumu Button Has Been Activated.
Lead image and other images from Unsplash.
I was talking to a male friend about *Mumu* buttons and he suddenly seemed defensive about it, most of the male gender act like it's a situation they can't be caught dead in. Acting all macho.
In my article, I'm just going to explain what this means and play around with the signs that I've noticed.
WHAT IS A MUMU BUTTON?
*Mumu* button, in case you are unfamiliar with the term, is that small button that is activated by a particular person in the brain of the other. We call it a button even though it's not, **it's basically those things done for love.**
The activation of this button is greatly frowned upon by the patriarchy for the males but once you have feelings for an individual, it's automatically activated without your consent. You just find yourself doing things you swore never to do, it can be scary, especially to men that claim to be *hard guys* all the time.
SIGNS OF AN ACTIVATED MUMU BUTTON
**1) You randomly think of him/her and smile**: This is a reflex action, you find yourself smiling at their pictures or little things that remind you of them. It could be food habits, speech habits, favorite things to do, or favorite food. They are all in your thoughts, in your mind, you daydream about them. Well, your *mumu* button is activated.
**2) You crave their attention**: You know when the lighting up of your phone lights up your mood at the anticipation of his/her messages. You always want to chat with them, talk to them, be with them. Sometimes, you're tempted to double or triple text them but you don't because you're worried it'll be seen as desperation(which it is) or you do text them and you get embarrassed by it. You spend long hours on the phone talking about nothing and everything, all those little sweet nothings you tell each other. I have news for you, there's a big possibility that he/she has activated your *mumu* button.
**3) Acting shy or excited around them**: It's not a new thing to feel butterflies when you're with someone you fancy but different people have different ways they act around their crush; some act hyperactive, and they get all talkative and excited. They ramble on and on while some are always too nervous to strike a conversation. The words refuse to form in their mouth. Do you act as either of the two? You know what it means.
**4) Spending money on them**: This is one of the most common displays of feelings. We mostly spend money on people or things that we like. If you always feel the need to buy things for them with or without them asking, it could be food, material items, or money. It could even be that card or other things that show that you care about them. You must know that your button has been activated.
Randomly, I remembered a scene from a Korean drama titled 'Business proposal', the girlfriend suggested that they get something to eat and she would pay but the boyfriend said it's okay, spend only your time on me, I'll spend the money'. That right there are the words of a love stricken man, the one whose *mumu* button is fully active.
**5) Difficulty in saying No**: when the button is activated, you'll find it hard to say no to some requests they make. You don't want to disappoint them, you want to do what they like. Most times, you'll just go with the flow because of the way her chin lifts when she's happy because of what you did or the intensity of his eyes when he looks at you thanking you for doing that particular thing.
**6) Jealousy**: *Mumu* button activates caveman instincts. Might I say, jealousy is normal, extreme show of jealousy to the point that it gets really unreasonable is the abnormal thing. I think everyone likes someone they like to be a bit jealous of them, it really creates this feeling of self-importance in us. The fact that someone is afraid to lose you should make you feel all mushy and stuff but when it's getting to the point of breaking phones or death threats, now that's a cause for alarm.
**Which of the signs have you noticed in you or your friend recently?**
If you noticed it in yourself, there's a possibility that your *mumu* button is active.

Relationship talk #2 : Long-term or short-term?
Lead image by me.
Happy Sunday.
We're not new to the fact that relationships or marriages end every day, it's called 'breakfast' by the Nigerian netizens. Gone are the days where the number of months spent in dating or courtship amounted to the length of the supposed forever*.* These days people who date for even four years end up getting divorced less than two years after due to differences they can't reconcile.
Does that mean that a long-term relationship isn't worth it since the duo won't be able to know each other despite being together for that long time?
I have a friend who's totally against dating for more than one year, according to her, it only leaves room for sinful acts (she's a firm believer in no sex before marriage). She believes no matter the number of years, you can't completely know a person but you should always watch out for the red flags.
There's this old couple I know, they've been married for over fifty-five years now. About 7 years ago, the husband was quickly rushed to the hospital because he was choking. Apparently, when he was trying to put off his artificial teeth, he choked on them, I'm not sure how he managed that as the teeth aren't small one bit.
The children were all surprised, they didn't know their father used artificial teeth, they confronted their mother about this and she admitted that she only found out almost thirty-five years into the marriage.
Thirty-five years! This shows that you can never know a person completely, how was he able to hide that?
With this realization, is it safe to say that short-term relationships are the best? I mean, you can't completely know a person, why bother with long-term ones?
I asked someone else about this and he explained that long-term relationships can't help to know everythinggggg about a person but it can at least narrow the differences down.
Like one of my friends said paraphrasing "Marriage/Relationship is mostly about comparing their differences. The context of relationships is that the two parties have their similarities and differences, so discovering that and being okay with it is what makes relationships work. The things in common can always change but the differences cannot."
I honestly agree with him, tell me if you think differently.
This gave me a completely different view, does this mean that two people need a lot of time to know their major differences and work them out?
But then I thought about people who date for a long time and still get divorced barely a few years into the marriage like the example I gave before. During those years, didn't they have time to trash out those differences?
That then made me conclude, that I think it has to do with the parties involved. It's the individuals involved.
Naturally, some people can be closed off, you think you know them but you really don't. If they don't let you know certain information, you can't. It could be that they don't feel comfortable enough to let you know or some other reasons best known to them.
So it depends on the people in the relationship, some people get married impulsively barely two months into the relationship and they'll work it out.
The funny thing is the irreconcilable differences can be extremely petty things like light on or off while sleeping. Sometimes it can be absurd to think marriages end because of that.
Do you think differently? Please do share your thoughts below.
Check out my wonderful sponsors.

Yayyy, It was my birthday.
Lead image from Unsplash.
Happy Birthday to meeeeee, in arrears anyway. I was so excited. Yesterday was the 11th of May, the highly anticipated day. I'm so glad it went well, the earth can continue revolving around the sun now.
Thinking about my birthday makes me nostalgic, I start to think of how my parents made birthdays something special growing up, that's why I try my very best to enjoy myself even if I spend the whole day at home.
Believe me, I started writing this yesterday but I couldn't complete it.
In this article, I'm going to share how I spent the day from midnight till the end of the day, it'll be fun to recap it.
Well, I had fun, I tried my best to achieve that with a painful left arm. I got vaccinated a day before, that's two days ago. It was dreadful. I have been avoiding taking the vaccine, it's not the vaccine that scares me generally, it's more like because the vaccine is readily available in Nigeria at no cost. Call me paranoid or whatever but I was scared of blowing up a blood vessel in my head because I took a fake vaccine.
When other people ask, I tell them it's because I have no time when all I have to do Is register for it online, and walk into the health center I registered for.
Fortunately or unfortunately for me, the health center close to where I live decided to camp in front of my house so I had no excuses, I decided to get it over with. At least I didn't leave the comfort of my home.
I started my birthday with some of the side effects of the vaccine, the prominent one was the semblance of my left arm to a really heavy bag of rice. I couldn't sleep well.
I was drowsy too (imagine being drowsy and unable to sleep) but my boyfriend called me at midnight to wish me a happy birthday, and we talked for a while, that pretty much kept me awake till about 2 am.
I received many messages and calls. The mood for the day was 'Awwwn', I think I got teary-eyed at a point at what my friends had to say. I was even tempted to repost some of them, but I didn't, the last time I did that was when I was what? 18, I think because it would have seemed partial to some. I would be a bit pissed if I wrote something nice on someone's birthday and I didn't make the supposed cut.
I did a birthday photoshoot, this part was one of the best things about yesterday. I loved the pictures from the shoot, my friend did a good job editing them but you have to admit, there's this sense of satisfaction when people love something about you that you love. I'll be sharing some of them.
Yeah yeah, over secretion of melanin, I know😂😂. I realize this is the first time I'm sharing my pictures.
I'm glad I didn't spend the day binge-watching friends or one of my Korean series, I actually went out instead. I hung out with my boyfriend, and yeah, I saw Dr Strange: Multiverse of Madness, it was crazyyy but I'm not going to spoil it for those who haven't. I really had fun, I wish I could recap every single thing we did but I'm pretty tired now.
There was a cake, what's a birthday celebration without a cake.
I'm grateful for those who gave me gifts including monetary ones, and those who took the time to wish me a happy birthday, it all warmed my heart, it made this birthday memorable.
I hope that next year will beat this record.
The dipppppp, someone said he bought the dip and now the dip has only gotten deeper, I tried and I'm trying not to let the money I've lost from it affect me, it's sad.
I'd like to say a big thank you to my sponsors, y'all are the best. Please check them out.
Thank you for reading🤗

Procrastination doesn't pay
Lead image by me.
Putting things off or postponing things meant to do has to be one of the most common things we do.
If you're a student, you probably had that course you delayed reading and kept procrastinating till the last minute or that topic in that bulky course you figured was easy until it was a day to the exam. It's now then you'll try to cram and memorize all you can.
It can go both ways, either it was successful and the last-minute cramming worked or it blows up in your face and you forget everything in the exam hall.
I'm so guilty of this.
I did something like this today, in the remote work I do, I was given a topic to research by the team's creative director around 8 am yesterday to be submitted by 5 pm today. I started researching around 3 pm today, so you can imagine how late I submitted it.
It's not because I didn't want to do it, I just kept putting it off because I felt it was easy, and wouldn't take up to 5 hours of my time and this made me almost miss my deadline.
**Why do we put so many things off till it's almost late?**
**Why do we procrastinate things?**
*Procrastination, according to the dictionary, this is the act of postponing, delaying, or putting off, especially habitually or intentionally.*
As I said before, we could get away with it or we could face severe consequences, the only reason I remembered to do the research at 3 pm is that I had set an alarm earlier in the day when I remembered when I was at church because I knew I was likely to forget. I don't want to think of the Query I would have faced if I hadn't set the alarm and had forgotten.
A friend of mine was told by his house owner to vacate his apartment about two years ago, he tried and tried to look for one but his pickiness slowed down his progress in getting a new one, in my opinion, he was being lax about the issue and didn't look as he should, he probably forgot that he doesn't have all the time in the world.
Now, the house owners told him to vacate the apartment before the end of the month, and now that it's last minute, he's starting to look for a new apartment and he regrets those times that he put it off.
Another friend of mine was given a project that was due in a week, he kept putting it off till the day it was due and he ended up not finishing it risking disappointment from his team leader.
There's also this exam I had to write in my first year at the university, there was this part I kept putting off, unfortunately for me, I forgot to read it till I entered the exam hall. I kept wondering how I forgot about it, luckily for me, the questions they asked from the part weren't that many so my inability to answer those questions didn't make me fail.
Procrastination tends to backfire when we least expect it so we should tackle it on time before it leads to severe consequences.
Things to do to avoid procrastination
1) Do it immediately: to avoid putting it off further, do it as soon as you were given or as soon as you remember. If you want to pick up that material, do it as soon as you remember, don't put it off.
2) Take notes or set reminders: we're humans, it's understandable to forget information, instead when you remember, take note of when you need to do it and set an alarm. Make sure you keep to the alarm.
3) Use human reminders: sometimes when I want to do something at a particular time and I know I might be too tired to respond to an alarm. I tell a family member and beg them to hound me till I give in, it works pretty well.
Procrastination is hard but we can beat it with determination.
I really appreciate every one of my sponsors, I love you.

Is Passion That Important?
Lead image by me.
It's a Saturday and they're supposed to be fun, mine wasn't any less. I have a question for you at the end of this article.
I had been anticipating today, it has been a while since I've volunteered because I'm home and it's not convenient but I managed to make it work this time around.
The program was a wellness charity walk hosted by Health Emergency Initiative (HEI) in partnership with Waka life international and Q-Life family clinic and it was held in Ikoyi, Lagos State, Nigeria.
I left home at 6 am but I couldn't make it in time to start the 6:30 am walk with the other participants because it's far from my house but I made it in time to finish with them.
After the walk that ended at 8 am, we shared refreshments for all the participants which include a granola bar and hibiscus juice commonly known as Zobo produced by zoborite.
It was a refreshing experience. Several keynote speakers came to address the audience that pooled at the meeting point, among them was a doctor, I've seen doctors talk severally but when I heard this man, I heard passion for the profession and passion for the people.
When you have a passion for your job or something, you love to do it. You do it happily. I know some of my coursemates that are always happy to read because they think it's exciting. They get so excited that it annoys everyone but I understand that it's the passion for the field of study.
I'm not sure if I've ever been passionate about anything.
People have things they're passionate about including their dreams, and career options.
But I have a question for you.
This is the season of an Exam in Nigeria we call JAMB, an acronym for Joint Admission Matriculation Board. It is one of the most important exams to enter any higher institution, if not the most important because it carries more points for admission in most schools.
**I know we should always go after the dreams we're passionate about but do you think there should be a limit to how long you're passionate about a particular dream?**
Medicine is a highly competitive course in Nigeria, every student in science department wants to be a doctor. I can't even count the number of people that wrote JAMB this year aiming to study medicine that I know. As a result of this, the cut-off is really high, especially at the University Of Lagos which most of them are gunning for.
Then, they come to meet me for advice since I'm a student at the University Of Lagos. I told them to write this exam first and score above 32o over 400. I realize that soon the result will be out and I'm not sure what to tell some of them if their result isn't good enough.
This is because, despite my advice, they'll still want to try and say the usual 'maybe the cutoff will be lower this year' and then it'll not and they'll have to write the exam again.
I know someone that wrote this exam for four years because she wanted to study law at the University of Lagos, in some of the years, they would give her another course but she rejected them all. Her younger brother got an admission before she did and she later got admitted to study English language and not law. She settled for it when she didn't reach the cut off the fifth year. By this time, some of her mates already graduated.
This is not even a case of comparing her to others but **would it be right to call that individual stupid or should I call her brave for trying to hold on to what she's passionate about**?
I know there are people out there that try for that same amount of years and end up getting that course they're passionate about but that doesn't happen frequently.
I decided to ask these questions because I'm not the kind of person that'll hold on to a dream or passion for that long.
**My story**
When I wrote JAMB for the first time, about 5 years ago, I think, I got about 250/400 or so, I picked pharmacy because of my love for drugs but after the other exams I missed the cut off by 0.06 points, I cried because that point looked insignificant, it wasn't even up to one point.
The next year, I chose the same course but I did wayyyy better, it seemed to me like everyone else did better so I became scared. I changed my course to Biochemistry and when the school's cut-off was released, it turned out I actually met Pharmacy's cut-off and beat Biochemistry's cut-off by far even though the cut-offs were increased.
You would think I would regret changing my course but no, I don't, I believe that if you see something isn't working out for you, then quit. That's the kind of person I am.
That's why I'm asking, I need your opinion on the issue.
**What do you think?**

You And I Part 2
Lead Image by me.
You can read the first part here. https://read.cash/@Deeepensiverse/you-and-i-part-1-2af558f8
I remember the first time we kissed, we had gone to see the latest action movie that was newly released, you were thrilled to see it and I gladly accompanied you. The movie theatre was dim, it held some romantic setting that lighted the ever-existing spark between us.
As usual, you hesitated, like you didn't notice me staring at your lips intently. I was frustrated that you didn't kiss me after several moments, my frustration fueled my confidence and I said 'Kiss me!'. You broke loose, like a prisoner who had been released.
I'm not a fan of Public display of affection but somehow I'm sure we spent more than 80% of the hours spent at the cinema sucking faces. I was elated, I wondered where your lips had been my whole life, you kissed like you knew exactly what you were doing, and for some reason, that didn't scare me. I wondered how many girls you kissed for you to perfect your skills. I killed the thought because I know I've had my fair share of kissers as well.
I remember how I became your girlfriend, I had borrowed your copy of Half of a yellow sun by Chimamanda Adichie a few days before we went to the cinema, I wanted to read it again. I was nervous about the cinema date with you that I barely had time to read it to a certain extent but a day after our date, I got halfway through it then I saw a note.
'Go to the last page, don't freak out, please' It read. Excitement coursed through me as I wondered what was on the last page. It was another note, it was longer than the previous one.
I started to read 'Every time I'm with you, I wonder how I should tell you that I like you even though I know you know, I some of my daydreams you accept, and in some sadistic ones, you reject me brutally and stop talking to me. I've tried so many times to ask you to be my girlfriend but the words get stuck in my throat and can't seem to come out because I get so nervous around you. Will you be my girlfriend?'
I dreamt that we got married and had twins that night, I knew I wanted to be yours. I called you the next morning stating I was worried, I'm pretty sure it scared you, the speed you got to my hostel put Barry Allen to shame. I looked at you and said 'I got your note' and you said 'Ohhh, no pressure really' you couldn't look at my eyes and you scratched the back of your head. I could tell you were nervous.
I blushed too and said 'you could have just asked me normally, I'd have said yes' you looked at me and said 'Does that mean?..' Letting the question hang in the air.
'Yes, I'll be your girlfriend' I affirmed and you hugged me. It was so tight that I could barely breathe but your scent made it worthwhile, I always wondered how you always smelled good.
You told me that I was giving you the right to glare at anyone who looked my way, 'Mine' you kept saying. I guess it felt as surreal to you as it did to me.
My friends warned me of you, they said you were too perfect to be true, you had the looks, the brains, the money. You were my prince charming. I refused to let that get to me, I was In love and tuned out the negatives.
Every person warned me about you, my parents were skeptical, and my brother threatened to cut off your balls every time you meet. They were expecting us to break up, they got their 'I told you so' speech planned out.
Your action jerked me out of my thoughts, you pulled me closer on the bed we share, and planted a kiss on my lips. You asked me what I was thinking about and I said 'You'
No one thought we'd still be together, 10 years of being married to you, 15 years of meeting you. I thank that staircase for being there. Scratch that, I think we would have met regardless, you and I are fated, you and I are meant to be.
I couldn't imagine my life without our 3 beautiful kids, my dream came to pass, we had twins: A boy and a girl, and another girl who seems to be your favorite. I'm guessing because she looks just like me.
I couldn't be happier, I love you more than I thought I could love anyone, and you love me even more.
I wrote this because love has a bad publicity these days, everyone seems to be in a bad relationship or knows someone that is in one. Someone told me a while back that he's never going to get married, that they never work.
People keep publicizing the bad marriages or relationships, there are plenty of good ones out there. People actually fall in love, grow in love, and stay in love.

You And I part 1
Lead image by me.
You told me you never believed in fate until you saw me walking down the stairs that led to the Lecture theater at our faculty but I did believe in fate and I thought that you and I are meant to be.
I saw the way you looked at me the first time our eyes met, it felt like I was like staring into a raging tornado, I enjoyed the sight. To me, it looked like you were raging because you saw your wildest dreams:me.
I know how I look, I know I'm very attractive, I'm not fair nor dark in complexion, I'm a perfect blend of caramel skinned beauty. I know that my body is the perfect one that would put Kim Kardashian's body to shame. I know my breasts aren't too big and my derriere isn't too massive. I'm barely 5'5, the perfect size to toss on the bed, I know now that I'm your perfect girl.
I pretended not to have noticed you. How could your deep brown eyes and fair skin not catch my sight? You towered over me, standing at a height of 6'2 with your perfect blackish crop of hair. Damn, your genes are good, most guys would give anything to have that perfect hairline. I immediately knew that if we had a son, he'll break hearts. I wondered how many hearts you've broken, I wondered if you noticed me because you wanted to add my heart to the tally too.
As I went my way, I noticed you beside me. 'I didn't know we were playing that game' was the first thing you said to me. Your deep voice resonated in my head, I tripped at the effect diving face down but the floor never came, it felt like the world was on pause because you caught me. You held my waist in your hands, I wondered if you knew the intensity of the fire in your hands.
That was when I knew I wanted you.
I remember we started talking, I can't remember what we talked about but it made me laugh. I remember thinking 'he fineee, and funny too. Definitely a player'
You somehow managed to get my number, I didn't resist as I would normally. I didn't remember the last time I gave a guy my number in the University because all they want is the same thing: someone to add to their body count. No one is looking for a real relationship these days, just Fuck buddies, Friends with benefits or just friends like friends are supposed to be pounding genitals.
My roommates knew that I barely left my hostel at night, they often teased that I'm the only final year student that they know that isn't into runs or at least doing sleepovers at her man's house. I had no interest in such that's why I made it a rule not to entertain men in the first place but you kept saying you wanted to see me again, and I felt the same way which was why I agreed the fourth time you asked me.
We hung out and we had so much fun talking. You seemed too good to be true, you were older by a year and were in 500level while I was in 400 level. You often teased that you were my senior and I retorted that we were both in our finals.
It became a regular thing to hang out. You always bought food for me, at first I insisted on paying but you wouldn't let me. You made a good point by saying I was totally reliant on my parents for money while you did some remote internship that paid you handsomely.
The more frequent we met, the more the intensity of your eyes increased. I knew you wanted to kiss me for a while and you weren't sure if you should because you knew of my conservative ways. I have to admit, I had thought of the feeling of your lips on mine a few times. I so wondered if it'll be as soft as your hugs or as intense as your eyes. I would prefer it to go from soft to intense.
I was scared of what I felt, I smiled so much when I thought about you and I wondered if it was one-sided. I deliberated on it and concluded it wasn't, I saw the way you looked at me, I saw that you have fallen for me and I for you. I hoped that I was right.
I hope I did well, I was thinking of what to write about an hour ago and decided on this. I have always wanted to write something like this.
This is fiction by the way. It might have one or two more parts. I hope you enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it😁😁

TV Series Recommendation- Hospital playlist.
Lead Image by me.
I thought of writing articles on book or movie recommendations in any genre. Not just Korean, any movie or TV series a while ago. I'm glad I'm finally doing this.
Before I proceed, I would like to appreciate my sponsors.
***Thank you🤗, please do check them out***.
@Tomi-Ajax thanks for renewing your sponsorship. God bless you.
This is my **favorite** k-drama and I suck at choosing favorites, people who know me well know this. I mean, I don't even have one favorite color. 'Why then do you have a favorite k-drama when there are so many options to choose from and you don't even have a favorite color even though colours have limited options' you might think.
It's simple, this Korean drama has a balance, it's serious and funny at the same time.
I know a lot of people hate k-dramas generally because they're seemingly too mushy and lovey-dovey but, hey, the majority watched Vincenzo, squid game, and all of us are dead. It was widely praised and appreciated by Netizens all over the world.
I have to say, I was proud of the Korean industry at that moment.
So my favorite is Hospital Playlist and I'll give my reasons.
The hospital playlist is a medical drama as the name implies, it tells the story of five doctors(four male and one female) in their early forties that have been friends for twenty years, they met during freshers orientation in the most prestigious University in Korea. The medical school of Seoul National University. If you've watched a few k-dramas, you'll understand what I mean.
They've all become hotshot surgeons in their various fields (Obstetrics and gynecology, paediatrics, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, and Cardiology).
Image source https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.pinkvilla.com/entertainment/hospital-playlist-2-breaks-record-highest-first-episode-viewership-rating-tvn-s-history-780261%3famp
In their career, they are the best at what they do and always strive to improve themselves. They make mistakes and learn from them. They are all professors.
In their personal life, they show the good part and the heartbreaking part. They show how their career takes so much of their time.
As per a forced suggestion, in the beginning, they agree to meet up at least once a month for band practice. They formed a band in medical school.
Like any other group, there's the nerd(they are all nerds but there are levels to it), one that spends all her free time studying because studying is supposed to be fun.
There's one that funny, talks to everyone, clubs all night but still manages to be the best, they even said he would club all night and weote exams the next morning and still got the highest scores because he had time to unwind.
There's one that tries to help all the patients, extremely warm-hearted.
There's one that has a hard exterior but is actually a softie.
There's one that's extremely antisocial, he can't stand to stay in a room with his other workers.
They show their relationship with their hospital residents, and with their families.
We actually see genuine friendship despite the different personalities.
Of course, they've been friends for two decades with a female among them, romantic feelings are bound to surface between one or two of them at a point. There were one-sided feelings too.
Some of them found their happy ending with the people they love, it's absolutely lovely to watch them grow.
The series is just the best and you'll really like it if you don't mind medical terminologies.
It's a Netflix original and has two seasons with twelve episodes each.
You should watch it😁😁.

Answers To 10 Random Questions
Lead image by me.
Happy Sundayyyy
This month couldn't have started any better, I gained clarity on some issues and I'm happy about it.
I'm going to be answering random questions I found on the internet. I'm excited already. https://conversationstartersworld.com/good-questions-to-ask/
1) What weird food combinations do you really enjoy?
Is it weird that I love eating bread and Avocado pear? I love the way it tastes. I also love adding sugar to my cooked beans. I'm not sure all of these count as weird.
2) What food have you never eaten but would really like to try?
Definitely Korean dishes.
You don't know how my mouth salivates when I watch a k-drama and they show their fried chicken, those crispy ones. I know it'll be different from the ones we have in Nigeria.
I would also love to taste their barbeque meat, the one they wrap inside a vegetable and eat.
Tteokbokki, those cup noodles, ahh kimchi. I heard there's a Korean restaurant in Nigeria and I hope to go there soon.
3) What animal would be cutest if scaled down to the size of a cat?
When I saw this question, an Elephant is the first thing that came to my mind. Imagine the giant monstrosity shrunken, it'll have this little trunk, awwwnnn
4) What’s your cure for hiccups?
Drinking water but I heard some other crazy thing helps. I heard you put a short piece of thread at the philtrum (the space between the upper lip and the nose) and raise your head for a while. I'm not sure if it works, I've never got to try it.
5) What are your most important rules when going on a date?
If I'm going out with someone I'm not so familiar with, I ensure it's a public place.
I tell my friends who I'm going out with, and where I'm going.
For some reason, I like to confirm if the other party is paying or we're paying separately.
In case, the other party is paying, I still hold enough to foot my bills, something they call 'vex money'.
6) If magic was real, what spell would you try to learn first?
The Unforgivable spells, of course. Especially crucio. I have a few people I want to crucio. You should be able to relate to this if you're a harry potter fan
7) What artist or band do you always recommend when someone asks for a music recommendation?
Jon Bellion creates magic, he has no bad song. I remember the first song I listened to, irobot. I was enthralled.
8) What songs hit you with a wave of nostalgia every time you hear them?
The first is 'A thousand years' by Christina Perri. It brings me memories of twilight and I almost start shedding tears. The song is the ending theme song.
'Something just like this' by the Chainsmokers. I read the whole twilight series with this song on repeat. I can't help but think about Twilight when I listen to this song
'Eastside' by Benny Blanco, Khalid, and Halsey. I remember being obsessed with this song in my first year at the University. Whenever I walked from my hostel at that time to my faculty, I always played it repeatedly. Anytime I pass that route, I would feel nostalgic.
9) When was the last time you face palmed?
Yesterday, I remembered how I acted concerning something about a week ago and the response I got from the other party made me facepalm. I facepalm a lot.
10) When was the last time you slept more than nine hours?
Is it sad that I can't remember? I barely slept 5 hours last night, I hope I sleep for longer hours this night. I don't like looking sleep-deprived.
That's it for today!

April was...
Lead image by me.
Hola Friends, it's the weekend. My day was sort of annoying, it was definitely not the way I wanted to end the month.
I had been anticipating my aunt's birthday party for a few weeks now, I planned to go with my other aunt because the place was quite far and I didn't know the route.
We planned to leave early today, around 7 am but she postponed it for an hour this morning, she said she had to get something done. We ended up leaving around 12:30 pm, there was a lot of traffic and we couldn't order Bolt as there was a surge in the price. We had to use public transportation.
I was pissed throughout, walking under that intensity of sun rays does wonder to your mood, and not positively. The traffic made everyone cranky.
The venue was just too far, it felt like we were on the move forever. We finally got there around 3 pm.
The party had started at noon.
Drinks were already exhausted at that time and there was barely any food left. The meat was already finished, the rice was already cold, and I had to purchase drinks by myself.
The only event left to do by then was taking pictures and cutting the cake.
I had a headache throughout and my aunt had us leave by 5 pm to start the journey back home because of traffic. Luckily, one of her friends drove us one-third of the journey even though that didn't make the throbbing headache go away.
I just want to sleep right now.
How was your day? Not as stressful as mine, I suppose. Did you sleep and binge watch movies like I hoped I did?
I'm pretty sure April started stressful for me too. I can't remember that day but I'm pretty sure I was at home, thinking of my life. The 'rents probably frustrated me and I was probably In my 'blame ASUU and the government for everything' mood. I got angry about everything and the only thing that excited me was when I was with friends.
Every little thing and I'll think 'no be una fault, an ASUU f*ck up' meaning it's not their fault, it's ASUU's fault.
I remember some of my friends and I talked about this and she said she was depressed about the whole strike thing. 'It's not that deep' you might think but some of us just want to move on. It'll be 3 months soon.
It's like playing a game and everything hangs, you have to wait for the whole thing to be sorted out before you continue without the knowledge of when It'll be sorted out.
I was disinterested in everything, I was also on a hiatus on this platform then. I even stopped reading novels or watching K-dramas. I was not sure how I spent my whole day but I definitely listened to a lot of sad songs and slept.
I would like to think Rusty noticed this mood and decided to reduce my tips this month. I'm already excited for May, so hopefully, Rusty sees that too and increases my tips.
Maybe if I earn a lot of money, I won't be sad. Being broke makes a sad person sadder😂😂.
Overall, April was a blur. It passed by quickly.
I've been doing this thing of not making plans for something, expectation leads to disappointment and I don't want to be disappointed but I'm exciteddddd for May.
I'm excited about my birthday but there's this little voice that dampens my excitement by whispering doubts about how enjoyable the day will be.
I'm trying to maintain a positive mindset still.
**May** the new month bring us joy, and **May** the new month bring me joy.
What are your expectations for May?
Are you #teamexcited or #teamwhatevercomes or #teamneutral?

I Am Appalled
Lead image by me.
It's a Friday, thankfully our power supply has been restored. Yipeeeee
In my last article, you can check it out here. I wrote about some of the attempts I've made at making money, and how thankful I am for this platform for setting me on the path to financial freedom. https://read.cash/@Deeepensiverse/im-thankful-for-this-platform-17d00588
Money is important in this world, some say money isn't everything, that money doesn't give happiness and yada yada but at least one won't be unhappy and poor.
My worry is that in a bid to make money, to live that model rich life, use the latest iPhone, buy that sleek car, in a bid to be called rich, people get into a lot of get-rich-quick schemes and involving in ponzi schemes is the least of it.
I get sad when I hear people especially non-Nigerians refer to Nigeria as the base of Cyber Fraud. I wonder how it got this bad.
We live in a society where people don't care how the money is made, what they care about is that you have the money.
Do the means really not justify the end?
Several people start various Fraudulent activities in the name of 'hustle'. I've seen parents even try to justify their son doing this act. 'At least he's helping out, he's taking little of the burden off our shoulders' I heard a mom say, I was disappointed.
Young men doing all they can to get money the proper way are now compared to these fraudsters. 'See your mates buying the latest iPhones and Benz, see him spending millions of naira in one sitting at a club'
I honestly pity the male child, they have to try harder every time because the bars are raised every day.
Now the girlfriends of those fraudsters. The fraudsters spend lavishly on their girlfriends, most ladies who want to live the type of life that they can't afford lookout to date Fraudsters.
The unlucky ones of these women are even used for rituals by fraudsters for them to renew their Voodoo to scam more people.
Of course, people blame the women because of the selfishness that led them there but fail to blame the men too, it's like everyone suddenly forgot that scamming people shouldn't be normal, doing rituals shouldn't be normal too.
Some ladies also, to have money, to live the life that everyone wants willingly join prostitution nicknamed runs.
Most of these ladies are unapologetic about it and believe it's their hustle, they believe it's their way of paying their bills. 'Use what you have to get what you want' mentality, I guess.
All these don't move me, we've always heard about all these, it's just more rampant these days.
What is appalling is bestiality!
Like, what is this world turning into?
A piece of news trended on Twitter yesterday, a lady confessed she met a man at a club and expected to sleep with him for money only for him to tell her that it was his dog, she was about to refuse at first but she agreed when he offered her a million naira, that's about $1700.
He introduced her to his friends and their dogs also did the same activity with her. She claimed she had done it with 13 dogs. She said she's currently treating a lot of incurable infections.
Several other people came out to share their experiences with someone they knew that was involved in bestiality. There were even videos of it circulating, apparently,y the dog owners liked to watch and record for their pleasure.
I almost puked when I caught a glimpse of the videos, a part of me was still skeptical about how genuine the news was until I saw the video.
Apparently, this practice is normal in Dubai.
There were even claims that ladies that have dogs do these activities with their dogs willingly but that's a story for another day. People have disgusting fetishes, Zoophilia being one of them.
This makes me rethink my claims on the importance of Money. Is money really that important?
Okay, without a doubt, money is important but Is it that important to go to such lengths for?
Can you risk your life for money considering the zoonotic diseases that can be contracted?
Diseases that lead to death.
Can you do anything for money?

I'm Thankful For This Platform
Lead image by me.
It's a bubbly Wednesday, I'm trying to maintain my positive mindset despite the blackout since Thursday, it's been almost a week.
How is your day going? It's raining and cold in my area right now. It's making me crave cuddles.
I'm generally a positive person, I try my hardest to be optimistic about so many things but it can be hard at times. The age I would be in May was really anticipated when I was little. I thought of where I thought I would be, and I'm nowhere near that, not even a tiny fraction.
It sort of helps that some of my friends and I are going through the same predicament, we have the same monetary worth which seems to be minute considering how money is being spent in the world today.
I have this platform, some of my friends are also on this platform and my other friends have some skills they picked up somewhere and somehow to make money.
Yesterday, I thanked God for not allowing me to invest in a particular project about two weeks ago when I saw @Mofif 's article on 86FB.
A friend of mine posted his earnings on his status, it was one of those moments where I was sad about my financial situation right before I continued writing on read.cash. I messaged him and asked him about the whole process and he tried to persuade me. I was swayed even though alarm bells kept ringing in my head, my gut told me not to listen but I wanted to try anything.
Fortunately for me now and unfortunately for me then, I had used my remaining money to purchase an item I really needed, so I promised myself that the moment I had the money, I would invest it there.
The funny thing is, I completely forgot about that, I remembered about it when I read mofif's article. Talk about luck.
Imagine if I had invested my money into it, I would be crying hot tears now.
I know how it feels to lose money, I have lost a reasonable amount of money due to all these Ponzi schemes. I don't blame people who venture into it, it's hard to get money.
It's hard to compete with people who get money by fraudulent means and buy loads of items that you can't afford.
I remember my first attempt at earning money, it was in the year 2020, I was at home and it was like my whole life was on standstill, our whole lives were all on standstill. A friend of mine introduced me to Forsage, I was still skeptical about joining then, @Greatwolfman convinced me, I joined with about 15 dollars, I think. I didn't even think I earned from it until ETH pumped, a few months later.
I had some other attempts but the second main attempt was a Ponzi Scheme introduced to me by my friend, I really thought it was legit at first but a part of me was skeptical. The name of this one was called Prime vault, we were required to do some daily tasks which varied from liking and following pages on Instagram, and subscribing to a YouTube channel. The daily earnings depended on the package the individual bought.
I bought the lowest package which was 3000 naira ($5) to earn 6600 nairas ($11) at the end of the month, I actually got paid in the first month. This cleared all my doubts and I decided to go all-in, I invested about $21 in the next month and the whole thing crashed halfway through it.
I couldn't even complain, my friends invested more money in it than I, one invested almost $80.
The funny thing is that I was planning to use the returns from this to invest in another one called Racksterli, which also crashed a few weeks later.
I didn't know whether to be happy I didn't invest about $24 in Racksterli or to be sad that I had lost almost $40 from the previous investment.
Since then I washed my hands off Ponzi schemes, it's better to be broke than die of high blood pressure.
It was around August 2021 that @Greatwolfman invited me to read.cash and I've been happy ever since.
Unlike the other attempts, it has been the most successful one, I made so many friends, especially @TheRandomRewarder.
This platform has really blessed me a lot and has blessed me with a way to be financially independent like I always wanted.
If you're reading this now, you're a blessing.
If you're always commenting on my articles, you're a blessing.
If you're always upvoting my articles, you're a blessing.
@TheRandomRewarder you're a blessing.
I really appreciate this platform and do not take it for granted.

This Or That? Food Edition.
Lead image by me.
Hello friends, It's a Monday, how did you spend your Monday?
Well, I spent mine reading Never Fade, the sequel to the book I mentioned in my last article. I had to make myself pause because I had to write this article. When I'm really into something, I can spend hours doing it without thinking of anything else.
I hope I finish it tonight and get it over with so that I'll be able to focus on other duties that I'm neglecting.
They've still not repaired the Electricity in my area, I'm not sure what's taking them so long, it sucks when other people in other streets have power supply and you don't, trust me.
So, my battery is really low at the moment but I still wanted to write something today.
Fingers crossed, it'll be repaired tomorrow and the electricity will be back on without any issues.
***Pleaseeeeeeeee, check out my sponsors, they are the absolute best.***
Today, I want to answer the food edition of 'this or that?'
I've been planning to write this but kept procrastinating. Today felt like the perfect day for it.
A fun topic for a Monday.
Let's get right into it.
Hamburger or Pizza?
Is it a bit weird that I haven't eaten a Hamburger before? Growing up, I had the opportunities but my dad used to tell me 'pick one snack' and I was scared to pick a burger because I was afraid it would taste bad, I picked the familiar ones like pies or sausages instead.
And now, I've not really had the opportunity, I'll try it one of these days though.
So pizza is my choice.
Cake or Pie?
Pies are delicious and all but I prefer cakes, their delicious smell and the way it melts in the mouth, you can't beat that. Top it with whipped cream, at that point, nothing would seem better.
Meat or Veggies?
#Teammeat.
I eat vegetables but compared to meat? Nahh. I know vegetables are healthy but meat is so niceeee. Maybe I'll just eat both together.
Coffee or Tea?
This is hard, I don't know, I love them equally, it's hard to choose. Maybe I'll just say both of them.
Ketchup or Mayo
I'll have to choose Mayonnaise, I eat mayo more, but I don't hate ketchup. Mayo just has many applications in my diet, It can be substituted for butter with bread, I also apply it with my salad or coleslaw.
Donut or Cupcake?
Definitely Cupcakes. Surprisingly, these days I find donuts too sugary, especially with the whole toppings. Minus the toppings, I ate a glazed donut sometime this year and it felt like I was chewing raw sugar.
Cupcake or Cookie?
I'm sorry Cupcake but you don't win this time around, that actually seemed like a man(that calls his girlfriend cupcake) trying to persuade his girlfriend to give up an argument but it's as you guessed.
I loveeee cookies, I think I have an unhealthy obsession with them. There's barely any cookie that I see available at the supermarket that I haven't tasted.
Ice cream or Frozen yoghurt?
Easy, ice cream. Fro-yos are cool and all but they don't top ice cream to me. It's the way it melts in my mouth, and that brain freeze when I take in a large quantity at a time for me.
Fruits or Vegetables?
I'm not sure I think they go hand in hand. I'll choose both, they are both healthy too.
But a part of me also feel I prefer fruits to vegetables, maybe I do, I'm not sure and I think I eat more vegetables than fruits. All I'm trying to say is that I can't decide.
So, that's it for today's this or that, I plan to make this weekly. It might not be in the form of this or that but I plan to publish articles once or twice weekly where I answer random questions about myself.
Thank you for reading🤗

Book First Or Movie First?
Lead Image by me.
Happy Sundayyyyyyyyyyy.
How are you doing? I'm doing good, I guess, it's cold though, it rained today in my area.
I've been happy and sad these past few days.
I'm happy because April is coming to an end, my birthday is early May, I'm very big on birthdays, I love celebrating them very much, and I'm so excited about It.
Speaking of Birthdays, my aunty's husband celebrated his birthday today, I was at her house, celebrating.
On the other hand, one of the reasons I'm sad is because there had been no power supply in my house for the past few days, the light went boom on Thursday, it displayed so many fireworks that if it wasn't at my detriment, I would have actually enjoyed it. The whole area's power supply went off instantly.
It was repaired yesterday only for the fireworks to reappear after an hour, it was painful. I charged my phone but it wasn't enough to write an article and read a reasonable number of articles hence my disappearance on read.cash. I had to activate airplane mode on my phone to save the little battery power I had left.
It hasn't been repaired, but hopefully, it'll be repaired tomorrow and it won't go kaboom again.
I'm glad I went to the birthday celebration today, I was able to eat good food and charge my phone.
Guess who monopolized almost all the charging spots.
I made sure I charged all my gadgets to full capacity, I missed publishing articles.
During the time I wasn't online cos of my low battery, I started a book.
**The darkest minds.**
Have you heard of it? I'm pretty sure you'll have seen the movie.
I watched the movie a few years ago for the first time, I heard it had a book and it was the first of its series but I kept forgetting to read it.
I watched the movie again on Tuesday or Wednesday and I thought 'I must read the book soon'
I do this thing where I intentionally read books of the movies I watched to judge them, I watch them to point out major or minor differences and thoroughly criticize them.
We all know Books are way better than the movie, that's like a universal rule. Do you disagree?
So, normally, I read the book before watching the movie.
Book-turned-movie like After just made me annoyed, the book was way toxic than the movie and they made everything so childlike in the movie, and it irked me. The toxicity of their relationship and the growth of the characters were what made me like the series as funny as it sounds. I'm a sucker for character growth.
The movies of the Twilight and 50 shades series were okay, they weren't exactly the same but I loved them.
The movie of the Harry Potter series was lovely, it's the best book-turned-movie I've watched. Maybe because It's been a while since I read the series before I watched the movie but I couldn't spot any major differences.
There is one movie I think is better than the book though.
Crazy Rich Asians.
The movie gave them the happy ending they deserve quickly, I'm glad I watched the movie before I read the book.
The book was just too dramatic, I felt that life shouldn't be that hard.
Back to the book I read, the darkest minds, I think the producers of the movie did justice to the book, I loved the book. I've started its sequel 'Never fade' and I can't wait to finish it.
**If you love movies and books like me, do you prefer watching the movie first and then reading the book or vice versa?**
**What movie have you watched that completely disappointed you?**
