Happy New month to every one of you.
I hope to embrace consistency on this app, this new month.
Who do we tell?
Do we bake our pains
Into cakes; dicing slices
To feed to all
So they could get a taste
Of what's beneath our hard walls?
Or do we be still
And wallow alone in our misery?
Who do we tell?
People with more pain
And less glee to spare?
People with little pain
But artificial promises to lend?
People with pompous tongue
Blabbing all out because they helped?
Who do we tell?
Mum?
Dad?
Siblings?
Who has all the soothing
And optimistic words but a helping hand.
How do we place a call to the one
Who we haven't spoken with for long?
How do we say "hi"
When the next word is "help?"
Do we know the precise person to ask?
Or are we going to confide in them all
And still, get rejected?
In the end,
Who do we tell?
You?
They?
Them?
Or... God?

Thanks for reading. 💙
Duolingo taught me more about consistency and not missing out on any streak.
So far, it's been awesome!
I just got promoted to the Ruby league 🙈
I'm ready to compete again for the top three this week.
Hidden Pains.
Pain isn't pasted
on the forehead
For all to see.
Pains withheld inside
Are never seen.
With a big hole
In the heart,
It's buried in the sand
Help!!!
A word used when in need.
Help!!
Can't you see?
Help!!
Make it quick.
Help!
You're mean.

Another one... 🙈
I now have a logo and a motto.
...where thoughts are transformed into words. 🙈
I love these designs, it's giving me joy.🙈
If I was lazy before, I need to start working.
If I wasn't reading before, I need to start reading and learning new words.
If I was not serious before, I need to be serious.
And if I was serious before, I need to be more serious.
I can't wait for my EMERGENCE.
Above all, I'm grateful to God. I'm greatly trusting him for a ring light, a better phone, and a microphone, I'll share the testimony here even if it's next year it happens, or if it takes two, three, four, five years...to come to pass
FAITH tells me it'll be this year or next year, so I'm keying into FAITH.
It's beautiful, right?

I can't hide my happiness right now, maybe because it's quite unusual for me.
But I do appreciate efforts like this...🥺
A few weeks back, I reconnected with a friend that I hadn't spoken to for three years, all that we discussed that day completely showed that he wanted to see me grow, he told me things I should do to improve and grow my YouTube channel (although I've not done those things yet maybe because I'm still trusting God for a phone with a better camera, ring light, and mini microphone)
Well, to cut the long story short, I'm really happy right now because of his effort so far.
Isn't this beautiful 😍
...he told one of his friends to design this...

To all the girls in the four corners of the world - I celebrate you all, and I celebrate myself.
I'm proud of being a girl child, and I know you are too.
We are God's masterpiece; beautifully and wonderfully created by God.
Happy International Girl Child Day.
Remember:
Our time is now - Our rights, Our future. 🔥
Thankful
I have no food.
My stomach rumbles from hunger.
My body reacts in weakness,
Sending the message of pain to my brain.
My heart beats in rhythms,
Making me aware of being alive
I have no shelter.
My body constantly gets
Drenched in the sun
And in the rain,
With sweat and cold
As my logo.
But still, the awareness of life
Rises from within.
I have nothing but rags
As a covering for my nudity,
Not any of the necessities.
No food,
No home,
With rags as clothes.
But still, I'm aware I'm alive.
In everything, give thanks.
Poverty or riches,
Happiness or woes.
Asides hell, what could be worse than death?
In life, hope is born.
Be thankful.

A Brief Introduction.
I'm Ella by name; a lover of poetry, creative writing, and spoken word. I also love singing and a little bit of dancing. I'm here on this app; willing and ready to explore, meet new friends, and connect once again with my friends from read.cash.
This is just a brief introductory post. Hopefully; you'll get to know me better along the line.
I can't write all these without extending a heart of gratitude to Mr. Tomi, he made my presence on this app; possible. Thanks a lot, sir.
I'm glad to be here. 💖
The dying wish from a wretched old man.
I got inspired to write this poem while reading **Atomic Habits** by **James Clear**, there was something he wrote that sank deep into my soul.
*He wrote...*
Mastery requires patience
Change can take years before it happens all at once.
In reality, the results of our efforts are often delayed. It is not until months or years later that we realize the true value of the previous work we've done.
I was so inspired by this because it was like he knew the state of mind I would be in when reading his book. I couldn't help but scribble words together to form a poem.
The dying wish from a wretched old man is one of my latest poems and spoken word poetry.
**The dying wish from a wretched old man.**
I opened a YouTube channel, some years ago. I had no intention of using it, I was navigating around YouTube that day and ended up creating a channel.
This year, I decided to take my poems to a different level, so I decided to use the channel for **"Spoken Word Poetry."**
Feel free to click on the link to subscribe to my channel, it'll be very much appreciated. https://youtube.com/channel/UCoDj5fJQWFNxZ9Bd_Z6lFeA
YouTube link. https://youtube.com/channel/UCoDj5fJQWFNxZ9Bd_Z6lFeA
The dying wish from a wretched old man is a poem I wrote to remind **ME** and to remind **YOU** that...
*You have nothing to gain if you give up, but you stand a chance to gain everything if you stay strong.*
*The dying wish from a wretched old man is a tale of a man who lived a life of regrets, all because he gave up too easily.*
Before I proceed.
I read @cescajove article sometime last week, an awesome article about a few of her favorite songs, she posted the video and audio to some of the songs, and I couldn't help but ask how she did it, she told me, and here I am today.
I'm glad I asked, I would probably still be swimming in the pool of **"ignorance"** if I hadn't asked. Thanks a lot, **Cesca**, I appreciate this.
Here's the spoken word version.
https://youtu.be/etqwoYM9b4o
Here's the poem.
*I had a dream*
*that would have become reality,*
*but success wasn't easy to find,*
*so I gave up on my search,*
*and watched in Idleness as years ran by.*
*Now I'm old and grey*
*but it's impossible to turn back the hands of time.*
*Please listen to the words of a wretched old man,*
*who has nothing else to offer,*
*learn from his woes,*
*and don't thread in his path.*
*Keep losing and winning*
*but never succumb to failure.*
*There would be disappointments...*
*Lots of it...*
*Change can take years,*
*but with patience to quell your fears;*
*you will one day get there.*
*Oh, I wish...*
*I wish I had one last chance to be a child.*
*I would have probably been a rich old man,*
*who would have impacted many lives,*
*But...*
*I gave up easily,*
*and...oh!*
*What other wish can a wretched old man give??*
*Than this?*
*don't...*
*...don't thread in my path.*
The old man died wretchedly because he didn't fight till the very end, he gave up along the line and lived the rest of his life in regrets, he summarized his life story and crafted it into a poem to assure **YOU** and **I,** not to ever think of giving up.
To inform **YOU** and **I** that there would certainly be disappointments, lots of them.
You might presently not have the customers you hoped for, but just keep at it and don't even dream of giving up.
You might not get that audience, those clients, those gigs, or deals. But don't let that trigger you into giving up.
You might not have this...
You might not have that...
***But, remember...***
*It'll all make sense one day and you'll realize that those previous works you did are not in vain.*
Like James Clear wrote in his book:
The outside world only sees the most dramatic event rather than all that preceded it. But you know that it's the work that you did long ago - when it seemed that you weren't making any progress - that makes the **jump** today possible.
Never Succumb to Failure.
Till we meet again in my next article and yours.
Thanks for reading.

When the motivator needs motivation.
*Imagine being a motivational speaker, and you're battling with depression.*
*The meaning of the title is more like saying; when the mentor needs mentorship, when the doctor needs medicine, when the coach needs some coaching, or when a lawyer needs a lawyer.*
***Sounds absurdly funny right?***
***Yeah, I thought so too.***
A quick Recap.
I've kinda been on and off, and then totally zoomed off this platform, it's been this way for weeks.
**I'll say:** I'll draft and publish it today.
**Then I'll say:** oh no, I'll do so tomorrow.
And when the morrow comes, **I'll say:** I'm tired, it's just reading 5 days off, how about making it a week?
And then when a week comes, **I'll say:** Well, it won't be bad if I just sell off my account.
To cut this short, I've been a little and then greatly unsettled.
Something happened yesterday; which inspired me to write today.
A summary of what happened.
@Kacy01 messaged me on Whatsapp; asking me why I haven't been active on this platform, I told him the reason, and I'm not going to mince words about this, I'm saying this plainly and sincerely. I told him I wasn't active on this platform because @TheRandomRewarder stopped visiting me.
I'm a user who is used to tipping people's articles whenever I read them, I remember when this all started:
*Whenever I didn't have enough to upvote people from my* *read* *.cash* *wallet, I'd go as far as transferring BCH from my wallet to my* *read. cash* *wallet, just so I'd have enough to upvote comments and articles.*
Recently, when I found it difficult..., not having enough to upvote people's articles or upvote their comments on my article, worst was not having enough to renew my sponsorship. I withdrew from read. cash. It might be hard to believe, but it's the sincere truth.
Back to the summary:
*After reading my response, he told me this:*
I'm buttressing on the first sentence: "**no be una dey encourage us to keep going?"**
It hit deep and pierced directly into my skull. That sentence made me reminisce on the good old days; when Ellawrites never missed out in publishing for a day, I remember then; when read. cash was almost everything to me, days when missing a day on read. cash was like forcing poison down my throat and asking me to smile.
*Truth be told, Kacy's words, are one of the reasons why I'm drafting and would be publishing this article today.*
When the motivator needs motivation:
That I mostly write motivational articles or poems, doesn't necessarily mean that I am perfect and fine. Most of my write-ups are written from my depressive state.
There was a time I wrote a poem on **"Unheard voice."** I wrote it through tears, I felt bad at that moment.
I was beyond the word: **"Shocked"** when it was reposted by some friends of mine.
There was another day, I felt somewhat down, and boom, I started scribbling and ended up writing a poem on **"Rise"**
*I wrote it to reassure myself and others, who might be in that moment of trial and self-doubt; that if they don't give up, they'll one day make it to the top.*
There's a reason why I plainly stated that; **I write mainly from my experience.**
Truth be told, I don't know how to make research, that's probably why I haven't gotten any content writing Jobs yet, lol. 😂
What am I saying in essence:
Sometimes, a doctor might also fall sick. Sometimes, a mentor might need some mentors.
Sometimes, even a marriage counselor, might need a counselor to counsel his/her marriage.
***That someone solved your problem, doesn't mean the person has solved his/her own.***
***Thanks, Kay, for your short and precise words of encouragement.***
***Thanks to all my lovely subscribers, sponsors, readers, commentators, tippers and those who thumbs up.***
**Till we meet again in my next article and yours.**
Thanks for reading.
Would you rather?...
Just while contemplating on what to write and what not, I stumbled upon @Crazywrites_1 article and couldn't help but fall in love with the questions that were asked.
In Mr. Ola's voice and words: "Let's get down to brass tracks."
Would you rather sing in public or dance in public?
Quite tricky I must say, but then it depends. I don't mind showing off different dance steps in public if my twin brother is...and my close friends are present. I also don't mind singing both correctly and incorrectly if my friends are present.
It all depends on the vibes I get from either the music being played or my mood.
Would you rather have a secret admirer or be a secret admirer?.
It depends too though, I love being admired and I also love when my admirer isn't bold enough to tell me. I love to admire people secretly, I'm not the type of girl that would go all out; spilling emotions. Once you're able to strike me as a cute guy or girl; you're also brilliant, ah! you've surely earned my admiration.
*But...*
For the sake of this question though, I'd prefer to have a secret admirer.
Would you rather get an expensive gift or go on vacation?
Even though I've never gone on vacation before, if I were to choose, I'll pick going on a vacation over and over again, without mincing words. On the beach especially, I want to have that cozy feeling of watching the waves and calmness of the sea; relaxing my nerves with the calmness of nature's breeze.
One day, I know I'll be able to spoil and take myself out for a treat. I don't mind going out to get a massage too.
Would you rather adopt a dog or adopt a cat?.
I never really liked any of these pets, but then; my friend who has a dog, made me fall in love with dogs, especially the German Shepherd breed. My parents and the environment have made it quite forbidden to keep cats as pets. So yeah, you've got my answer right there, I'll adopt a dog.
Would you rather make a phone call or send a text message?
I don't like texting, so I'm opting for phone calls.
Would you rather have a road trip or book a flight?
Honestly speaking I love seeing planes, I love seeing them land or take off, I love seeing them so high in the sky, I get so fascinated every time I witness the view. I keep dreaming and saying: "one day I'll book a flight and enter a plane."
**But in regards to road trips...**
In fact ehn, I hate traveling or going out by the road, I only do so because I have no other option. Nothing is amusing in traffic jams, potholes, noises from here and there...oh! You name it. If I had a choice, I won't make use of road transport when heading out to a place; not so far from my house. I'll just keep booking flights even when the place I'm heading to is just a stone's throw. Lol.
Would you rather get up early or sleep in late?
Honestly speaking, I'd prefer both. I prefer sleeping in late especially when there's light. I'll also love to get up early and start with the chores and preparation for work.
Would you rather cook at home or order in a restaurant?
Oh well, if I could do the latter, I wouldn't mind but then I'm a lady, so I should go for the former. There you have it, I'll prefer cooking at home.
That's all for this awesome prompt, you can jump on it if you wish. 🥰
*Even though I've been less active here...*
*...I'm still used to saying:...*
Till we meet again in my next article and yours.
Thanks for reading.
Signed...
Pen down for a while.
I honestly planned to draft and publish this article yesterday, but I was so tired and recognized only my bed. As some of you all know; I'm a part-time student at Yabatech. I've initially been so occupied with my exams, all glory to God; yesterday was the day I wrapped up my exams, I'll be dropping my pen for a while and either opt for a direct entry into the university or come back for my HND program.
The journey as a student of Yabatech hasn't been a smooth one but all in all, I'm grateful for the grace to start well and finish well. I'm coming back next year to reseat for my ND 1-second semester exams due to the financial crisis I once wrote about.
*Our ND3 first semester's result was passed today, I'm happier to have seen my grade point and cumulative grade point.*
I have nothing much to say asides from being grateful to God for his grace and mercies. Three years' journey ended in **praise.**
The sad news I heard today about the incident of yesterday.
**The incident**
Yesterday; being my signout day, something quite tragic happened.
In Yabatech, it's a kind of culture for signout students whose course-mates have cars; to go about playing loud music and driving around the school.
***Yesterday wasn't any different.***
I saw the lady in the above picture; who is my very dear and sweet friend, off to where she boarded the bus, but on coming back I met my other friends; Joyce, Esther, and Victoria, looking downcast and discussing amongst themselves. After a few inquiries from them, I got to know that a final-year student met with an accident and was rushed by other students to the school's medical lab. On getting to the medical lab, we noticed that they had put the boy in their ambulance and were ready to transfer the boy to a better medical center. It was then my friends and I realized it must have been really serious.
We spoke amongst ourselves; feeling pity towards the boy and wishing him a safe recovery.
The sad news.
I was beyond shocked when I came online to read the story of his death, it became more pathetic when I heard that he was an only child.
***A final-year student, who studied Electrical engineering died on his signout day.***
***Due to the post from Instablog, I got to find out about what truly happened.***
He was standing in a car; dancing, the car moved, he fell and hit his head on a tree.
He didn't die on the spot, as they had to rush him to Yabatech medical center.
I would have said; he should have celebrated wisely but then after the lecture from one of my good male friends, I realized that being alive Is just by grace. It could have happened to anyone. But then, one should still be careful when one is trying to celebrate a victory or a win.
***May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace.***
I became more grateful after hearing and reading the news, it is well.
I'm grateful for all I've learned, unlearned, and relearned from my great school; Yabatech. ***God has always been faithful and I'll always be grateful.***
*Pen down for a while.*
*This is my twin and me.*
Till we meet again in my next article and yours.
Thanks for reading.
How this month has been so far.
I've never been this inactive for so long, I don't even know what to say or type right now but in-between my inactivity on this platform, there are a few things that happened to me.
I can remember vividly on the first day of this month, I wrote about July and things that would be happening in this month. I wrote about July being the month of perfection.
July is my birth month.
July is the month of my exams.
July is the month I'll sign out from the school I'm in...
July also marked the month I became a five-month user on this platform.
I purposely skipped the part that the beginning of July was an intense and quite scary one for me. I was lashed with sadness and depression because I was just so uncertain as to what tomorrow held for me.
*Those that would remember when I wrote about* ***FOAH's*** *"Fear of asking for help," would recall me writing about how school life had been so tough for me; especially during my first year.*
I wasn't able to pay my school fees during the second semester of my first year, which automatically leads me into coming back for an extra year. I've resonated and seen it as my fate but what almost happened this month would have been a repetition of whatever happened in the past.
*I would silently cry myself to sleep; begging and pleading to God; that I didn't want to come back for an extra year; attending two different semesters all over again.*
On July 1st, I wrote myself a poem, it was a melancholic poem that was written with tears in my eyes:
***Sad sad day***
*Tears are the only words I have to say*
*The pilled-up bills called today*
*Here I am, with empty bags and sacks,*
*but still, the deadline is rushing fast.*
*Would this be a repetition of what had happened in time past?*
*or do I still believe and cling unto faith?*
*hoping for the miracle at the eleventh hour.*
*Tears, swollen moist eyes.*
*Bitter sad heart*
*and yet the echo of debt keeps humming deadlines in my ears*
*Time has drawn near and too near now.*
*With empty hands...tell me...*
*do I still believe and cling unto faith?*
*or do I just give up and see it as another moment for my woes to triumph?*
*©Ellawrites16.01*
*July 1st, 2022.*
I was sad, I cried my eyes out on that very day, so uncertain of what the morrow held for me. I already have the second semester in ND.1 to come back for, I didn't want the second semester in ND.3 to be added to my list of extra years; all because of the inability to pay my fees.
My friends were drooling over the sign-out party; what to wear, the hair to make, and the shoe to buy while I was drooling over how I would pay my fees. I had even vowed to switch off my phone on the day of my birthday all because of how depressing the beginning of July started for me; sadness engulfed my whole being.
That day was July 1st and exams were desperate to commence on July 12th, the school fees portal was slated for a closure on the night preceding the exam day. There was nothing, nothing to even start with. I was so scared and depressed.
All I could write during that period was melancholic poems, my heart couldn't fathom my woes.
***But...***
*The 7th of July marked a very pleasant day of my life. I don't know but God miraculously provided myself and my brother's school fees.*
On the 16th of July; which marked the day and month I was birthed, was made more special by God and the lovely people who took out time from their busy schedules to post and send some lovely and good wishes via writeups and voice notes. I was filled with unexplainable happiness and was happy I didn't go ahead with the initial plan I had about switching off my phone on my birthday.
***I'm presently still writing my exams and would be signing out by God's grace on Friday; "July 22nd."***
I was stuck with writer's block during all these days of depression. I couldn't bring myself to write an article, the only inspiration I got was from writing poems. These poems helped me to strengthen myself during these trying times.
Even though things are not that bloomy now, there are still some things to be thankful for:
Life.
Good health.
And the fact that God provided money at the eleventh hour to help my brother and me in the payment of our school fees.
This is how my month has been so far, but I guess it'll only make my story sweeter and more relatable in the future when I'm narrating my story to the world or when I'm trying to motivate people who might be struggling with such situations in future.
I can't wait to be through with my exams and sign finally out of the first phase of my tertiary school journey.
***Hopefully, after my exams, I'll resume fully back to this platform. I'm grateful to all my lovely sponsors, subscribers, commentators, readers, tippers, and those who thumbs up.***
Till we meet again in my next article and yours.
Thanks for reading.
Borrowing.
I had this topic in mind since like two weeks ago.
I was seeing a movie that particular day; on my phone when this message popped up.
*I was so shocked and that was basically because I know this boy in question, I know him so well. He is nothing like whatever he was portrayed as in this message.*
I had to put a call through to the number that sent this message, luckily for me, he picked and we had a good and calm conversation.
I was not happy with the way he lied and called the debtor a thief, I explained my grief and he explained his; making me understand the reason for his action.
Well the story was quite brief.
The person who was tagged as a ***"thief,"*** borrowed a certain amount of money through a phone app and promised to pay back with interest at a particular period or point in time.
*Unfortunately, I guess; due to some unforeseen circumstances, the person couldn't pay up his debt.*
*But...*
The creditor made it known that the reason why he went that far with the debtor was because the debtor...
Stopped picking their calls.
Blocked them on social media *(WhatsApp).*
Marked their messages as Spam.
Blocked their phone number.
After the creditor explained all that to me, I became speechless and blamed the debtor for doing all aforementioned.
*For the debtor to have done that, then definitely the creditor would have thought or imagine that the debtor wanted to run away with his money.*
Although, when I questioned the debtor as to the reason why he did something like that, he told me that the reason he did that was because ever since the deadline elapsed, they kept disturbing his phone with calls and messages everyday.
Either ways,
I told him to not have done that..., he resolved to put a call through to them to explain his present pressing needs and why he hasn't been able to pay them.
*Borrowing*
*as its name entails simply means collecting something, either money or material things, to pay or return later on.*
Based on my candid opinion; I would say that one shouldn't borrow at all except the situation warrants it, but even at this, I'll still prefer borrowing from friends, family or organizations; familiar with me. Borrowing from all these apps is a **No** for me.
Also, you borrow when you're very sure of the time you'll be able to pay back.
*Some people don't even have a means of income; yet they go about borrowing money from people and apps.*
In the above message, they said the debtor ran away with the sum of 200,000 in naira. But when I questioned the debtor, he told me that it was a borrowed 30,000 that summed up to that amount, and that was because of the terrible interest they kept adding.
Either ways, if you must borrow, then:
Don't borrow money to start your business or any business. Of course you can request a little amount from your family or friends... but it's not nice to get a loan to start your business.
Don't borrow money to invest.
I have a friend who did this and it turned out that she borrowed 30,000 in naira to invest in one application she heard about and saw online, only for her to get **scammed.**
*Investment on its' own is already hanging on the fence, but borrowing money to invest; especially in an investment you are not sure of, is worse.*
At this point I don't even know what to say again because the truth is that; even when we borrow from some certain kind of friends or people, they start embarrassing a person when the person doesn't meet with the deadline. Words like...
He's owing me and he can go out.
He's owing me and he's eating.
He's owing me and he bought that shirt.
They tend to watch your every move, especially when they stay or live in an area not too far from yours.
*Desperate times calls for desperate measures.*
*I just hope that if we ever get to a point where we can't help but borrow...sane people should be the ones we'd ask for help. But hopefully we won't get to such terrible stage.*
The feeling of being indebted to someone can even make a person loose his/her freedom.
*It is well.*
It's been awhile here on read.cash and I can't still say if I'll be consistently active, so much pressing needs to attend to in the physical world, together with my upcoming exams. Seems like they are all getting me choked up.
Also hoping @TheRandomRewarder visits soon, so I can renew my sponsorship with you all.
*Sighs...*
It's one thing for a person to get sponsored and it's another thing for that sponsorship to be renewed. Thanks alot @Aimure for the sponsorship renewal.
Till we meet again in my (Sighs) next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
It's You against You.
It's **you** against **you.**
Not **you** against your **siblings**.
Not **you** against your **friends**.
Not **you** against the **world.**
I noticed something, basically from my own experience. There are some times when I feel bad about myself. I tend to have this feeling whenever I see a person who does the same thing I do, or who is into the same thing I'm into; doing far better than me, for instance:
Taking steps I neglected.
Growing or getting better than me.
Making money through the same thing I do, while I've got nothing to show for it.
Getting noticed while I remain in the dark...
Don't take this the wrong way, I'm sure some of us might have felt this way in time past, we allow the successes of others to weigh us down and deaden the tinniest bit of effort we make.
But then, there's something I keep telling myself especially when these deadly thoughts comes piercing deep into my soul;
When I see a sixteen years old girl taking steps I was ignorant of when I was her age.
When I see a girl who is a graduate at my present age; while I'm still here struggling with my undergraduate life.
When I see a girl who is fulfilled and married at my age.
When I see....when I see...
I always remind myself of this:
*Ella, it's* ***you*** *against* *****you******, don't compare yourself to others, don't allow their achievements lead you into feeling inferior or sad.*
*I viewed something really interesting today while going through the WhatsApp statuses of people on my contact list.*
I stumbled upon the status of a very great writer and artist, this is a screenshot of what he posted:
*We would never recognize our full potentials if we keep using people's achievements to weigh and measure ours.*
It's **you** against **you**, **you** against what **you were** in **time past**.
If I measure my success with that of my friend's, I'll surely and definitely feel down and so bad of myself. But if I measure my success with that of my past self, oh! You need to watch me raise my shoulders in ecstasy.
Remember our secondary school years, that smile we can't help but wear on our faces whenever we check our report cards; seeing an higher percentage than that of the previous term.
*Or...*
As an undergraduate who just heard the news of the results being released; checking the notice board to view your result; only to find out that your Gradepoint for that particular semester is better than that of the previous semester.
I don't know how you feel, but trust me, there's this excitment that gushes out from my innermost part whenever I see a better and higher gradepoint.
*Yes!!!*
*That's the spirit, it's not about friends, families, it's not even about your fans or the world as a whole. It's about* ***you****, yes* ***you****.*
It's about getting better, doing greater things and consistently fighting in order to be the best version of yourself.
Taking a glance back to the days of yore, I can't help but smile; reminiscing those great small steps I took.
*I'm proud to say this;* ***I'm better than what I was before.***
***That should also be your checkpoint.***
Just as I was proofreading this article, this WhatsApp message popped up, it's from a motivational group I joined recently:
*It's all about being better than what you were in the past.*
*Don't forget this:*
*It's you against you.*
So instead of looking at that friends achievements or allowing that achievement get the better part of you, start seeing more of your own achievement. Start working towards improvement, be happy, be proud of those little steps you take or make.
*And...*
*Be the best version of yourself.*
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
Idleness.
*Okay I forgot to include my busy schedule in my last article, I just wasn't able to come online during weekends and that was due to my part-time weekend classes.*
There's a word I know of, its name is ***"idleness,"*** it simply means not being busy, it could come in different sequences:
Lack of jobs.
Having lots of time yet using it to do unprofitable things...and so much more.
There's a saying I'm sure we all know of, it says and I quote:
*"An idle mind is the devil's workshop."*
When one's mind is idle, the heart entertains different types of things or strange thoughts.
You'll think more of your problems.
You'll think more of drinking and smoking to forget those problems that invades your mind.
You tend to have more sexual needs when you're idle...
When I was still in the game of ***"teaching,"*** there was this lady who joined us.
There was a reason why she came to teach with us, I remember her vividly narrating her ordeal to me.
*This lady had encountered alot of troubles in life, she lost her husband to cancer; even after spending her life savings on him; thinking he'll survive. Unfortunately, her husband never survived it. She lost her beloved husband and was left to fend for their only child.*
**What am I driving at?**
Now, this lady came to teach in the school I taught in; back then, not because of anything else but for her to get back her sanity.
Idleness made this lady think alot, it left her with **suicidal thoughts**.
*She wanted to get rid of these hurtful thoughts that invaded her mind whenever she was left alone and idle, so she decided to get busy with work; that way, taking her mind off the burdens she felt.*
**Idleness would make you think alot.**
A person who has a very busy and tight schedule won't think so much about an heartbreak.
I've been there before, i was dating a guy back then, we broke up and after the breakup, I realized:
I didn't think too much about him when I was busy with work.
I didn't think too much about him when I was busy; gisting away with friends.
I didn't think too much about him when I was seeing a movie or doing other things.
My mind easily drifted the moment I laughed with kids.
I only thought so much about him whenever I was less busy or idle.
It even got to a point that I started forcing myself to remember those memories, all because I wanted to play being **"sad."**
Work, and being around kids helped me move on so fast.
*Do something productive with that little time, don't spend it sleeping and playing away.*
There's something i keep telling myself.
I find myself telling myself this; anytime I want to motivate myself to keep pushing. I was so happy when I saw on someone's WhatsApp status; a rare picture that kind of summarized the words in my head:
*"Whenever I see* ***Low*** *reactions to my poems on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts."*
*"Whenever I see* ***Low*** *views on the videos I post on YouTube."*
*"Whenever no one comments or replies to my status on WhatsApp..."*
***There's something I always tell myself:***
If you allow frustration lead you into giving up, what would you gain?
After asking myself the aforementioned question, I'll then say this to myself:
**It's better to continue posting and building up yourself than not doing it at all.**
With continuity and consistency, you can one day spark up the interest of others.
With continuity and consistency, you'll keep growing, correcting your mistakes, improving...and who knows, one day, you can be called upon.
*When preparedness meets connection, success is inevitable.*
So with all these; I tell myself this:
*It's better to continue, than stopping it to become idle.*
In the above picture, we can boldly see:
**Doing nothing at all.**
**Vs**
**Making small consistent efforts.**
Doing nothing at all; within a year portrayed the same result.
But you see ehn, those little consistent efforts; within a year gave us a completely different and better result.
Continue with what you're doing, it's better to keep at it, than choosing to leave it and become an idle man who does nothing but:
Sleep.
Eat.
Watch movies.
Chat with friends.
And on and on he/she continues.
*Thanks alot* @Bibijani01 *for the sponsorship renewal, I deeply and sincerely appreciate you dear friend, I'm definitely not going to take this for granted.*
Special Announcement.
The main reason as to why I haven't really been engaging on this platform is because I find it so hard to comment on the articles of others; without tipping them, and rusty hasn't visited as usual; so I literally don't have enough to tip your articles.
**But...**
Starting from tomorrow, I might have to start commenting on some of your articles, without tipping. I hope you all would understand. 🙏
And to those who I haven't been able to renew my sponsorship with them, I'm really sorry, I've also missed seeing my face on your sponsor's block, I hope you understand me as well; hopefully it gets back to normal soon.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
July.
July is a month with four letters, it marks the seventh month in a year and in my country; July is equivalent to the word perfection. Seven means perfection and since July is the seventh month; we do call it the month of perfection.
When the month of June started, I had so many plans, I didn't have a to-do list but I wanted to do alot, especially here on read.cash, actually my plan for June was to write and not miss out on any day.
*Also, with the energy and consistency I mustered in learning French on Duolingo in the months before, if anyone had told me I'll slack or relent, i would have said it was completely and totally impossible, but unfortunately; I did slack and I did relent in learning French*
**As the saying goes:**
*Action speaks louder than words.*
*Sometimes we say lots of things and end up not doing anything.*
I ended up missing out in publishing and engaging with other users so many times, I'm sure I've lost count of the number of days I failed to publish.
Apart from July; being the seventh month ***of the running year, July is also:***
My birth month.
The month my exams would commence.
The month I'll be signing out from the first phase of my tertiary life.
I was too down and depressed in the month of June, but I want July to also be my month of:
Happiness and perfection.
More consistency on this platform...
***And so many more...***
It's quite strange as to the way the year keeps running off without even taking a glance at us, or seeking our permission as to if we actually want it to move with the pace it's moving.
It's more like yesterday when we all shouted **Happy New Year**, we were all jumping and jubilating in happiness; for we've seen **year 2022.**
***Today marks the beginning of another month and very soon, tomorrow would be August.***
Time isn't waiting at all, I keep looking at my age. This month I'll be adding another year to my age, I find it sad even if I'm happy. But then; sometimes I'll just sit still and wish deeply:
***If only I could turn back the hands of time.***
Or
***If time could just be on standstill for me.***
Unfortunately; none of the aforementioned can actually happen. One just need to keep pushing and doing the best one can to be the best version of oneself.
*Welcome.*
It's July, I'm trying to be positive, I'm trying my best to believe that the second half of this year would smile and giggle with me.
Welcome to the second half of this year, thanks alot for all your love and support so far.
This month would definitely favor us all, both here on read.cash and in all other activities our hands find themselves doing in reality.
Happy New Month!
If you're a July celebrant, type "***Yeeeey 💃"*** in the comment section.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.

Is "English" a criteria for "intelligence?."
We were having lectures on Saturday; **People's communication skills,** to be precised, the lecturer taught on; as we sat still; listening keenly to the words she uttered. Still during the process of lecturing us, she listed and explained different listening skills, on and on; she went, until she mentioned something, something that made my mind reflect back to my secondary school days.
She said and I quote: ***"It's not all scientists that knows how to speak English"***
But it doesn't mean that you should laugh at them whenever they speak an improper English.
She sighted and example; using a doctor as a point of reference.
She said and I quote: ***"If a doctor is prescribing drugs for you, even if the doctor isn't speaking fluently or prolly speaking incoherently, does that mean you wouldn't listen to what he/she has to say?"***
Honestly, I'm fond of judging people's brilliancy through the way they speak and most especially; the way they type on social media.
Sometimes, whenever I hear a person speak in reality, it's mostly so different from how he/she chats on the media.
Back then in secondary school, there was this teacher my classmates and I were fond of laughing at; she was always speaking way out of proportion.
She'll say things like: ***you're a person, I am a people.***
We always laughed so hard during her classes, infact we saved an exercise book; just for writing or penning down her grammatical mistakes.
***Well that was just a little digression.***
English is a general language, but the fact is that; a person's brilliancy shouldn't be directed only to people with great skills when it comes to writing in English.
This year, and my conversation with some people; made me understand that; some people are just not good enough when it comes to portraying or converting their thoughts into words, I was also made to understand that; because they are unable to do this; doesn't literally mean that they aren't brilliant.
There was a time like that when i had a chat with a male friend, this chat led us into meeting with eachother.
From our chats, I felt quite disgusted, I had this mentality that he just wasn't brilliant especially since he didn't know how well to relay his thoughts into words.
*But...*
*When I finally saw him, things completely changed, he spoke so brilliantly in person, he was good in maths, he loved science so much...and so much more.*
I was beyond shocked, I kept asking myself rhetorically:
***"Is this the same person I usually chat with on the media? Or perhaps his twin"***
To wrap it all up and in conclusion; **In some cases**, English shouldn't be use as a criteria to determine or weigh intelligence.
I feel that English is a great language, but the truth is that; not everyone knows how to write English fluently, but it doesn't still make them less of themselves.
*I'm not also that fluent in speaking or writing in English, I guess that's why technology is making it easier by introducing apps like grammarly.*
***Well...***
*I'm just free writing about my candid opinion, if you're objecting to this, do let me know in the comment section, I want to learn and know if I'm wrong or right.*
**Special Appreciation:**
Thanks alot @TheStudent for your lovely sponsorship, I love and won't take this for granted, please do well to check and subscribe to his page too.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.

Let me celebrate.
*This month hasn't really been a great one for me, infact depression has feasted alot on my skin, and ate to its fill this month.*
Sometimes I'll just feel so sad and bad.
*Whenever I remember some things, I'll suddenly become too sad, tired and stressed to engage on this platform. Most times I'm hardly ever inspired to write; especially in times when I remember my troubles.*
My engagements here on this platform has been so poor and totally poor in this month.
At times, I might actually be inspired to draft an article, but because I haven't tipped and engaged on other people's articles, it becomes hard to actually hit the **publish button,** and also, if I don't have enough in my wallet, it becomes hard to engage on other people's articles, because apart from the fact that I'll read and comment, I'll also love to tip all the articles I engage in.
***For me though, this month has been a little bit sour and sweet.***
Well, enough of my gloomy rants, let's talk about the bloomy part.
As my Pastor would say;
***June for Joy;***
***Joy for June.***
Apart from the my sad episodes, I still have few things to be grateful for.
*First of:*
*I'm grateful for the gift of life.*
*When there's life, there's hope. So I can't be more appreciative enough.*
*Thank God for the gift of life and fresh air.*
I titled this article as: ***"let me celebrate,"*** because I feel the need to celebrate my little wins.
Though I lost quite a number of sponsors this month, and I haven't been able to renew my sponsorship to some awesome users. I'm still very much grateful to these beautiful faces displaying on my sponsor's block.
*And to those awesome users; which I haven't renewed my sponsorship to, I'm deeply sorry, I promise to renew most of it before this week runs out.*
I love and appreciate you all; dearest sponsors. ***Thanks for your constant and loving show of support.***
I also want to use this medium to appreciate @Talecharm for her awesome renewal of sponsorship. Thanks alot Charm, I truly appreciate this.
While typing this, I got a notification that @VinceCharlie had also renewed his sponsorship, thanks alot dear, I truly appreciate this.
And lastly:
This month makes it my fourth month of being on this platform, though it'll be five months soon.
But either ways, I'm earnestly grateful to all my sponsors, subscribers, likers, tippers and commentators. Thanks alot, and I truly appreciate your support.
*To the main reason as to why I'm actually celebrating. I'm glad and so glad to see that I've actually reached up to 200subscribers on this great platform.*
Seeing this in the morning; filled my heart with so much joy. A good news to finally cheer me on and it's all thanks to you all, I'm deeply and immensely grateful for this. *Despite my lack of consistency in this month.* This actually brought smiles to my face, atleast one good thing has happened to me in this month.
*To Everyone:*
***Thanks alot, I deeply and truly appreciate this.***
Please I'll surely attend to the awesome comments on my previous article; which was posted three days ago.
But for the fact that I haven't posted since three days now, I would have slated this article for tomorrow. I'm presently feeling really sleepy.
*I'll surely engage in as many articles as I can; tomorrow. Do indulge me this once.*
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
Are they truly happy?
*This wasn't the article I intended writing, but I had to skip to write this; especially after listening to the agony of a friend of mine.*
I was chatting on Instagram this morning, with a very good friend of mine.
*We were chatting on Instagram because his phone was stolen and he didn't have my number anymore.*
**The full story:**
This Friend of mine, is a saxophonist who has made so much from it.
He was always getting jobs to play for different ministers in church.
He got jobs to play also for people who were serenaders.
This same guy could get over five jobs from different clients in a week.
You might want to ask me how I got to know this?.
Well yes, this brings me down to what I'm driving at.
***He was fond of doing all these:***
He kept posting his jobs.
He kept posting money, and screenshots of the amount of money he received.
He kept doing giveaway.
He kept posting screenshots of the money he sent to the people who won the giveaway.
He kept posting what he buys with his money; the silver sax he got, the expensive meal he bought...and so much more.
**In a nutshell, he was a very public kind of person.**
*This was the reason why the person who stole his phone, did what he did.*
This same sax guy kept bragging about the amount of money he makes from playing in a show;
He'll send $120 to his girlfriend and post the screenshot of the receipt.
He'll send $60 to his best friend and post it also, on his status.
*Before he was able to go and block his bank account from the bank, on that fateful day, the person who stole his phone had wiped out all the money that was in his bank account.*
***He lost his iPhone.***
***And he lost all his money.***
Here's a screenshot of our chat today.
**He said and I quote:** *"I almost committed suicide, I cried but it's fine, I've left it to God."*
**There's one thing my mum and life has taught me.**
Most people have a:
It should be me kind of spirit
Why am I not also rich kind of mindset,
It's the same saxophone job we are doing, so why is he getting clients more than me?.
Am I not better than this person, why is it always him.
*Some people are going through the tides and passing through rough edges.*
Showing these kinds of people your regular achievements, telling them continuously about how you're excelling in your career, can put you into an excruciating danger or risk.
*Not all smiles are genuinely formed.*
**Take it or leave it.**
*Eighty percentage of the humans we have on Earth don't truly wish you well.*
*Forget the congratulatory messages with smiley faces.*
*Forget the picture posts with Epistles.*
***Most of them don't truly wish you well.***
**It's hard for a person to love you more than they love themselves.**
Now, judging from that;
*What do you think the person would feel when he sees you doing better than him?*
If there's one hard fact I've learnt; it's that I don't really have a genuine friend or genuine friends.
I can count the genuine friends with my right fingers.
But if I'm to count the wolves, my fingers and toes won't be enough.
**Be subtle as a dove but be wise as a serpent.**
It's not about moving far away from them. It's about knowing how well to relate with them.
What are the things you say to them?
How do you act or behave when you're around them?
My mum would say; Use Wisdom.
***Wisdom is profitable to direct.***
Those bad friends might still be useful to you someday, so it's not by moving away from them. Still stick with them, but set those boundaries.
There's a reason why God shielded us from having access to the mind of an human.
*The heart is deceitful above all things, and desperately wicked: who can know it?"*
Jeremiah 17:9
Let's just be guided. Don't flaunt your achievements to people, especially not to those who are far behind you.
*But before I wrap up today's blog.*
Apart from the fact that his phone and money was stolen, he lost all his contacts too.
Both the important ones and unimportant ones.
He has lost access to most of his contacts and that's because he didn't keep records.
**Always keep record of things.**
Apart from having numbers on your phone, ensure to write them down in a book.
*So that should incase of any unforseen circumstance, you'll have a backup plan to fall back to.*
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.

Imposter Syndrome.
*While drafting my article yesterday, and as I was about to click on the* ***"publish"*** *button, I met with this topic and decided to make it the title of my today's article.*
Without further ado, today's blog topic is called the:
Imposter Syndrome.
After surfing through Wikipedia, it's been found and seen that:
*Imposter syndrome is loosely defined as doubting your abilities and feeling like a fraud. It disproportionately affects high-achieving people, who find it difficult to accept their accomplishments. Many question whether they're deserving of accolades.*
Wikipedia
I'm pretty sure we all might have felt this way in one way or another. Well, I have also felt this way too and even till now, I still feel this way.
I remember when I wrote a poem on faith; sometime last year. I was beyond shocked and expressionless when my poem got reposted by different people, people I didn't even imagine would deem it fit to repost it. I had to go back to the poem and kept reading and reading; wondering what was so special about the poem.
There's something I realized...
Sometimes, that worst post, worst design, worst drawing to one's imagination is what gets the best praises.
When I wrote the poem on faith, I was completely and totally shocked, because even after posting it, I didn't really like the poem. I was more surprised when I got replies like:
Were you the one that wrote this?
Wait, you wrote this?
Is this your writing? Wow!
Even after all these questions and all the reposts, I still felt the poem wasn't worth the accolades, or better still; I felt I wasn't well deserving of such accolades.
*A person with imposter syndrome doesn't accept his accomplishments, doesn't feel good enough of himself/herself.*
And that was exactly the way I felt on that day, and the way I always feel almost everytime. This is one of the best and main reasons why I love **feedbacks.** It helps my sanity.
After few findings;
*Some things have been identified as signs of imposter syndrome.*
An inability to access your competence and skills realistically.
When you keep attributing your success to external factors.
Berating or belittling your performance.
***For more emphasis, here's a short dialogue between Ella and Tomi***
**Ella:** Wow, Ife, this is beautiful, I love this poem, you're such a good writer!.
**Tomi:** Hmm, be decieving me oh, no dae whine me abeg.
**Ella:** I'm being serious here, this is wonderful dear, I love this poem.
**Tomi:** *(sighs)* okay ooh, I've heard you, thanks *(sighs).*
From that dialogue above, Tomi; also called "Ife" was berating his performance, he has an imposterous mentality that he didn't write the poem well and Ella was just pulling his legs. Whereas; unknown to him, Ella truly loves his poem and she enjoys reading his write-ups and poems.
**After few more findings;**
Here are some ways to overcome the imposter syndrome.
Learn the facts
Share your feelings
Celebrate your successes
Let go of perfectionism
Cultivate self-compassion
Share your failures
Accept it.
*The facts listed above, were all gotten from Wikipedia.*
Imposter Syndrome is linked to not feeling good enough about yourself.
In addition to the aforementioned ways...
Learning to love yourself and seeing value in what you do is one awesome way to let go of the imposter Syndrome.
**Easier said than done right?**
Yeah, it's the same words I'm presently telling myself, but there's no harm in trying after all.
*So; to me and to everyone out there with this syndrome.*
I love you, and I love me, but let's learn to also love ourselves, and love what we do.
**Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.**
**Thanks for reading.**
You're doing well.
Here are some questions for you?
How do you feel when you post something and no one comments?. Few likes and fewer reactions; few views too?.
You spent time, energy and sweat to make a video, write an article but after publishing it, you get just 2 to 3 views?.
Which do you prefer seeing when you click on your published article on read.cash?:
Likes?
Tips (upvotes)?
Comments?
Comments and upvotes with likes?
Comments and likes atleast?
Upvotes and likes, no comments?.
Well if that question was directed to me, I'd pick all the options that has **"comment"** in it.
*Have you ever felt you aren't good enough?.*
That excruciating feeling that knocks you down into belittling or finding it hard to see or believe in your capabilities.
Well, Viola!
*I've been there, and one of the reasons why I'm writing this article today, is because I'm still there.*
I once wrote about the power of **"feedbacks,"** it always feel good to appreciate or constructively criticize the work of others. Just show your presence, make the person know and feel that someone actually sees what he/she does.
*But...*
***Come to think of it, is it just all about finding the right audience?.***
I mean people keep speaking about finding the right audience, but the question is this:
Where and...
...how do we find them?
Is it that easy to locate the right audience?.
*I need to be enlightened on the aforementioned questions, please if you have answers, the comment box is all yours.*
A quick story.
Towards the end of last year, I decided to become a dropshipper for a lovely fashion company: **"Mobis Couture and Consult."**
Just to earn few bucks as a side income in addition to my salary as a teacher back then. I started posting her wares on my status.
*But guess what?*
It was just a very close friend of mine that patronized me.
The rest of my friends and those on my **CL** kept arguing down the price, complaining about how the dresses were just too expensive for their pockets to afford.
I got frustrated anyways and stopped.
Now, my point here is this:
My audience were the ones that didn't see value in what I was selling.
That they didn't see value in what I sold doesn't mean that those dresses had no value.
**Mobis Couture** makes her money on a regular and that's because the audience she has; knows the value of what she's selling.
What am I driving at?
If you keep posting on your status, or wherever you might be posting, without anybody's reaction or comments.
**Then you should know this:**
It's either you don't have and have not found the right audience.
It's either you have ghost admirers; who would say nothing even when they love what you do.
You might prolly need to cross or reevaluate yourself...
But...
It shouldn't make you feel you're not good enough, your audience might just be like those audience I had, when I was a dropshipper. They just might be the one not seeing value in what you do.
*That they don't see any value in it, doesn't mean it doesn't have value.*
*You're good enough dear, one day the world would notice you, just keep at it, don't let the absent views of others make you feel less of yourself.*
***You're doing well dear, just keep at it and improve more on yourself. Someday the whole world would notice you.***
And that's how another topic; still relating to this, just crossed my mind. I'll write on that in tomorrow's article
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
Celebrity lifestyle.
I literally thought they were my fans, not just fans but people who would stick with me in the good and in the bad times.
I was sad, infact coming online suddenly became terrific to me, it was so hard to come online. My phone was continuously disturbed with different notifications from different social media platforms.
What exactly was my offence?.
*I'm Bella by name, all my life I had always wanted to be famous, I wanted to be known; home and abroad.*
I wanted people to know my name, both the young and the old. I badly wanted to be seen by all.
I decided to double up my efforts when I clocked sixteen. I worked triple hard, established all my social media accounts and kept building up my followers by creating contents that can't be ignored.
I showed them different videos, videos that the youths of this present day would fancy. Shockingly I got what I wanted.
Tons of comments.
Tons of followers
Tons of subscribers...
My Twitter, Instagram and tiktok accounts got verified faster than I ever imagined. I was overwhelmed with happiness and pride, I was finally getting the fame I've wanted all along.
*I always enthusiastically woke up to check my notifications, my social media platforms, read my emails and anything worth doing on phone.*
But on one very sad day, something terrible happened to me, I went to have fun in a club on that fateful night, I got drunk and didn't even recognize myself anymore.
*But for the fact that I was filmed, I wouldn't have known what I actually did.*
My head felt like it wanted to burst, my brains felt the dying urge to burst out, I felt so sick in the stomach... but all these disappeared the moment I picked up my phone to check my notifications.
Different blogging platforms had my name on their headlines as written below:
***Famous Bella Maris caught on camera; drunk, breaking bottles, and fighting in the popular bar in Lekki.***
***A whole celebrity breaking bottles, read below to catch the full gist.***
***Omo, see as the famous Bella slapped the bar man in her drunken state... click here to watch the full video.***
It was just too much. Was I really the one who did all that? I was taken aback when I saw the comments from most of my fans.
***Na home training cause am, right from inception, she never had home training.***
***Imagine a whole celeb; doing this, but you no get shame oh, why would you drink this much if you know you'll get out of control.***
*I cried out loud when I saw the number of views, comments, retweets, reblogg, uploads, talk more of the tons of likes and reactions.*
It was then I felt something was actually fishy, I have never been drunk to that extent. I slowly began to recap everything that happened.
But while at it, my phone buzzed again, a notification had popped up, I checked the head line and immediately I saw it, I froze.
***Famous Bella caught on camera; having a threesome, click here to watch the video.***
When? How?... It was then I knew my life was doomed.
I finally remembered it all, my best friend orchestrated the whole plan.
Her name is Vera, we've been friends since our childhood years, and since our childhood years we've always wanted to be famous. We both achieved all that, I still fail to understand how and why Vera would do such to me.
*I guess she was jealous.*
I remember her; giving me the drink on that fateful day.
I had looked away for awhile when two lovers asked me to sign my autograph on a book they had held, and the next time I picked up that drink, I couldn't remember what happened afterwards, but I woke up, alone in my bedroom.
*I'm not upset with Vera, okay I am, but not that much.*
I'm only surprised as to how my fans, those fans that always dropped lovely comments on my contents, those fans that posted my pictures on their walls; calling me their role models, those fans that I had literally taken as family, those fans I had helped in one way or the other; by doing random giveaways and so many more...
I expected them to understand, I can't really write all they said, it's too lengthy for me... But not them, I didn't expect this backlash from them, I expected them to atleast wait to hear my side of the whole story; to see that this was all a setup.
It truly dealt me some lessons:
***To be famous, you need to be prepared, one single mistake can wipe out all the good things you've done in time past.***
***To be famous, get ready to be watched by everyone, get ready to let go of somethings, be aware that people are watching you.***
***What others would do and be overlooked all because they aren't a public figure, a famous person can't do it.***
A famous person can't argue for change with a driver.
A famous person can't shout at anybody publicly and so many more...
**Like it or not, someone would be watching; waiting to capture those ugly moments.**
***It's their job after all.***

It's all vanity.
It's all Vanity.
It's strange how life suddenly takes a U-turn, driving one back to an entirely different destination.
A person you saw yesterday; suddenly gone to the world beyond, today.
Someone you saw in his/her complete form suddenly meets with an accident and the doctors have to amputate his/her arm or legs.
You were filled with so much inspiration yesterday but today you struggle with writer's block.
Just yesterday, you weren't faking your smiles and today you couldn't help but do otherwise.
Yesterday you felt you were the most beautiful, most elegant, most sort out for, most admired, most needed...oh you certainly felt the whole world; bowing at your feet. But today there was a fire outbreak, your face suddenly got burnt and those scars would definitely spend the rest of its' life with you. You feel so bad of yourself, life suddenly becomes unbearable, people who admired you starts drifting away. You suddenly despise your reflection, the same reflection she had spent hours adorning and admiring.
It's strange how the houses and cars he was bragging all around about suddenly got damaged without recognition or prolly stolen.
I'm not trying to make anyone fret, it's just a reminder to always remember to be humble.
***What a person thinks he has today might not be his, tomorrow.***
The illustration above simply means that no matter what or who we become in future, we must never forget that it can all disappear in the split of a second. So always be humble and remain humble.
*That a person is happily married doesn't mean that the person should laugh at those who aren't.*
*Or that a person conceived few months after their union, doesn't mean she should mock those ones that haven't conceived even after ten years of their union.*
*If a person is presently above, that doesn't mean he/she should laugh at those below.*
*Live life like you'll die tomorrow, do good to others while and when you can.*
*Never look down on others, all because you were privileged to get to the mountain before them.*
Father's Day.
**To all fathers...**
We acknowledge your works, your efforts. Those times when you try your best to suppress those tears, all because you don't want to cry in our presence.
Your loving arms were well felt when we were kids, we admit that you go through alot sometimes, but for us, you do your best to be strong, you do your best to be there in our sober and happy moments. We love you, our mothers adore you, we value you and we appreciate you.
*More power to your elbow, more grace, more wisdom on how well to take good care of us. We hope and pray that you'll be granted your heart desires.*
Success in all ramifications, you are gems and very rare ones to find.
Thanks for all your unquestionable love and care.
Thanks for always being there.
*Happy father's day...to all fathers here on* *read.cash,* *father's all over the world, wannabe fathers, fathers in the making.*
Special Appreciation.
*Hurray!!!*
*The issue with sponsorship and the sponsors block has finally been rectified, an hearty thanks to everyone who renewed their sponsorship with me.*
*You know, it's one thing to be sponsored and it's another thing for that sponsorship to be renewed. Thanks alot to you all, I love and appreciate this lovely gesture, I'm definitely not going to take this for granted.*
I'm going to improve, this week. I wasn't really consistent in engaging and publishing, last week because I allowed depression have a pact with me.
*My mind is more enthusiastic right now, I'm just hoping it won't be any different by tomorrow.*
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
I'm Sorry.
*When I was still in the game of teaching, there's something my scholars always did.*
Anytime one offends another, he or she quickly says ***"sorry"*** before the offended person even comes to report.
**The offended person:** Miss, Bella pinched me.
**Me:** Bella why did you pinch her?.
**Bella:** Miss, I've told her sorry
*(That wasn't really straightforward, I just used that scenario to summarize so many instances).*
In the aforementioned scenario, after analyzing and seeing that the case is not too delicate, I always face the offended person to tell him/her this:
*But she said sorry.*
Sorry...
.*..is a two syllabic word with five letters, one vowel, two repeated consonants, an* ***s*** *and a* ***y****; which are also consonants.*
As harmless as the word "sorry" actually is, it can also be counted as the hardest word to say especially when your ego dwells in you.
What if you are actually the one who is right and the other person actually refuses to accept his/her fault?
I'm guilty as charged when it comes to the aforementioned.
I despise saying sorry when I know I'm actually right, even if saying sorry is capable of preventing more quarrels or fights.
There was a day my mum and I were having issues, she was terribly pissed off and kept sending me hateful text messages.
A part of me kept telling me to just say ***"I'm sorry"*** and let the matter die down once and for all.
***But...***
No, how can i?, She's the one who's wrong, so I kept replying back, I noticed her text messages were getting worse with my replies. Her words were getting unreadable, there were errors in her words. *(For people like my mum, one can read and understand how extreme her anger is, through the way she types her words).*
I felt this and finally said: **"I'm sorry mum."**
She suddenly stopped sending those messages, and everything was back to normal.
My mind pushed me further to still put a call through; which I did. I called to repeat my apologies and the peace I felt after doing that cannot be explained.
I had a sound sleep on that very day.
Saying ***"Sorry"*** stops more words from being uttered.
A person who's angry and keeps shouting at you, blaming you and hurling hurtful words at you can be kept shut just by the word ***"Sorry"***
*Sometimes I'll be really angry with someone, I'll keep talking and talking and would even have more words to say...*
But once the person says ***"Sorry"***
I usually feel pained...
***Why?...***
Because I can't say all I want to say anymore.
Because I suddenly have to keep quiet.
Because as little as the word "Sorry" is, it has been able to shut me from hurling out more words, leaving me no other option than to bury the other words waiting to burst out; in and just accept the fact that I've been apologized to, so there's nothing more for me to say.
Sorry saves you from being punished.
*Just like the initial story I wrote, Sorry saved the offender from being punished*.
When I was younger, sorry spared me from more lashes of cane. My dad might be spanking me continuously but once I say **"sorry"** he stops immediately.
Although, when he noticed I started repeating the same mistakes and would jump at saying sorry at the slightest whip, he kinda stopped adhering to my pleas and would still lash out some strokes even after I've said *"I'm sorry."*
But yes! It sometimes save you from being punished.
*Sorry does alot more than we can actually imagine, if only we learn how to make use of it.*
There's a reason why ***"sorry"*** is part of the five magic words.
Sorry heals.
In rare cases, sorry is capable of stopping a fight from escalating into murder.
Sorry brings peace.
Sorry sometimes bring and end to malice and bitterness.
Sorry can also be seen as a sign of humility.
Sorry heals.
It does alot, we just need to see and understand that Saying sorry doesn't remove anything from our body.
*Okay, let's talk about what inspired this article:*
*It was on the naming ceremony day of their child, people were there to celebrate with them. Workers from the wife's place of work, workers from the husband's place of work and church members were all present.*
There was no spoon anymore and the wife couldn't give her boss a plastic spoon, she had to meet with one of the church members to collect an iron spoon from him; exchanging it with a plastic spoon, the man obviously didn't take this to heart but her husband who was watching as the scene unfolded was angered in his spirit.
***He bellowed:***
*Why would you collect the church member's spoon all because you want to give it to your boss?!!!*
There was nothing wrong with what the wife did, the church member too never complained, so the husband's rants really got the wife pissed off.
The wife's mother had told her.
*Just tell him Sorry, so this issue can die down.*
But no, she wasn't wrong after all, she totally refused to obey.
*Why would I tell him Sorry when he's the one who's wrong!? No mama, I can't tell him Sorry.*
The issue escalated into something else. Even after the naming ceremony, this man kept beating his wife all because of that trivial act.
The wife's mother who was still around; being the period when she was to stay and assist her daughter with taking care of her newly born child; couldn't bear it anymore.
She kept crying and begging her son-in-law not to kill her daughter.
This so called son in-law got infuriated by this and added his mother-in-law to the picture. He beat his wife and included her mother.
*The mother couldn't take it anymore, she couldn't stay anymore and decided to leave, she wanted to go with her daughter and her grandchild, but the daughter was too wounded to walk, the mother had to leave without them.*
***Disclaimer:***
*The Man was far from being right. From this story, you'll see that his head is mentally not correct. For a man to lay his hands on his wife and also lay his hands on his own mother-in-law... Now that's something else*.
I still feel, if the wife had said sorry back then, the issue would never had escalated to that extent.
***P.S:*** *This story isn't fictional, I heard it from the horse's mouth.*
Let's not allow our pride and egoism to disrupt some good things from coming our way. Let's also not allow it to bring some bad things our way.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
Hard Questions.
I was initially drafting a completely different article, but based on the fact that my eyes had started complaining and getting infuriated at the fact that they hadn't rested and they were totally tired, I had to pause for a while.
*Moreso, the article needed proper corrections and the likes...so it's best I answer already laid out questions.*
I got this question from none other than @Dennnis , you can check out his own version via this link. https://read.cash/@Dennnis/which-is-better-truth-or-beauty-537889cd
Alright then, here goes the questions:
What is the meaning of life?.
Basically I'd say, life is a personality that takes us through the fire before we become golds, it deals us so many lessons; both good and bad. Through life, we've got experiences that we learn and unlearn from.
*Life is only going to be our friend when we work towards making it happy.*
Literally speaking; life is the ability to sleep and wake up in good health, the ability to eat properly and the ability to make impact; especially through making others happy.
Which is better: too much of something or too little of something? https://read.cash/@Dennnis/which-is-better-truth-or-beauty-4e157879#which-is-better-too-much-of-something-or-too-little-of-something
If this wasn't something to choose from, I'd pick none. "Too much of everything is bad," so they say but then, when it's too little, it's also bad.
Just like Dennnis said, neither too much or too little, it should just be sufficient and enough for us, but not just enough for us but also enough for us to spare.
Except the context is different though.
*Then I'll go for too much... Too much wealth, lol, I hope this isn't bad too. ☺️*
Which is better: truth or beauty? https://read.cash/@Dennnis/which-is-better-truth-or-beauty-4e157879#which-is-better-truth-or-beauty
I'll always pick a sincere heart that detest telling lies. I don't believe in outer beauty...that's prolly why I don't catch real feelings easily.
True beauty lies within, it's not in looks but it's in what the heart portrays. You can't bring a cute thief or an handsome liar to me and ask me to be with the person.
I'll always prefer a real and sincere heart. A cute guy who is a liar would make failed promises, wouldn't even take the relationship seriously, would talk about love whereas he's just playing a game. These are the set of guys that would:
Call their side chicks, their cousin.
Go to their friends house and tell you they are travelling out of the country...
It's easier to trust one who is truthful than one who tells nothing but lies.
Besides; A foundation that's built with lies can't stand for long before it crumbles. So yeah...I'll and I'm opting for truth over beauty.
Is social media a blessing or a curse? https://read.cash/@Dennnis/which-is-better-truth-or-beauty-4e157879#is-social-media-a-blessing-or-a-curse
It could be both; depending on how you make use of it.
When I was but a teenager, social media was nothing but a curse to me. It was through social media I got entangled with black webs, it was so easy for me to derail back then.
But presently, as the youth that I am ☺️ or do I say; "as the adult that I am?," Social media has been a blessing and more blessing. If our teenage years knew how well to use the media, we'd have been millionaires by now.
For some kids that are still using the media to go to boys houses and do whatever...
Using the media to perform illegal deals...to them, social media is a big time curse.
Define Intelligence https://read.cash/@Dennnis/which-is-better-truth-or-beauty-4e157879#define-intelligence
Intelligence to me means being smart, recognizing opportunities and taking hold of them. Not slacking behind and just like Dennnis said; intelligence is naturally gifted and inborn.
It also means thriving to be ahead and thinking outside the box.
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
Bullies and their victims.
All through my growing up years, I had this mentality that a child who gets bullied in school or at home; happened only in the movies. I've never physically seen anyone being bullied, neither have I been bullied.
Last year and the way this year has been so far, it has made me realize that truly; people get bullied, not just in the movies but plainly also in reality. But then, there's a question I can't stop asking myself:
Why do people bully others?
Is it just to feel superior?
Or are they trying to take their pound of flesh by making others suffer the same way they did?
Is it hereditary?
Is it just for the fun of seeing others in pain?.
...or prolly because of Fame and the peers they keep.
Left to me, I see no reason why children should subject other children to pains, but still, the painful fact here is that; it happens, it actually happens.
*People are being bullied by others and it has led some into commiting heinuos crimes, while some of the victims lost their lives through this process.*
Still in the course of Sunday's teaching, another question was asked.
**As a parent, how do you help a child who's constantly bullied in school?.**
Sometimes these victims become depressed and through this pain, it might lead them into doing something terribly bad.
*The facilitators actually spoke about Salvador Ramos, who was bullied from small and decided to purchase a gun when he clocked 18; killing at least 19children and two teachers in Texas, in addition to this he shot his grandmother but luckily for her, she survived.*
He had this trauma since he was a child, reports have it that he was a victim of being bullied when he was a child.
*I'm guessing he harboured all these in his heart and decided to make other children pay for his sufferings.*
This was a totally wrong decision to make and it's actually pathetic. May the souls of those children rest in peace, and I pray those parents are given the fortitude to bear this tragic loss.
*I would have pasted the link to the story. I've actually been trying to, but all efforts proved futile and that's because I actually don't know how to go about it. You could just surf the internet to read on the story.*
There are some victims that voices out. Whenever they're bullied in school, they always come back home to report the issue to their parents, especially when their parents are people they feel secure enough to talk to.
As parents in this scenario, it's always advisable to take note of the smallest details. As little as:
Mummy and Uduak push me in school.
And that boy took my biscuit...
Don't just shove this things aside; listen, find out why, make your children feel loved, don't be too busy to hear them out...take drastic measures by making a complaint in their school, and if it persist, nothing should stop you from withdrawing your child from that school.
*Sighs...*
So many other ways to help a child who is a victim of being bullied; were discussed, but then someone made a remark; stating that when he was a child, he was also a victim but he never told his parents or anyone, infact he never showed his sadness in his expression. He was always smiling, so it was hard to detect that he wasn't truly happy.
The aforementioned leads me to biggest question, which is:
*How would a parent know a child is being bullied in school, especially when the child keeps quiet and says nothing about it?*
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.

Broken home?.
***June hasn't even gone halfway yet and I'm already having a big issue with consistency. I'm actually working towards a change; hopefully, this week would be better.***
Without further ado, yesterday being Sunday was a very spectacular one; spent in the presence of God.
Moreso, issues were discussed, so many questions were asked. I'll call the theme of that session: **"How to raise a godly generation of children,"** with the recent news of the funny and terrible things underaged children are presently doing.
*It was basically talking about being a good parent to your child, properly nurturing and seeing your child grow in a godly way.*
So many questions were asked and answers were rendered, but for today's article I'll slash out some questions and discuss basically on a particular remark from one of the facilitators of yesterday's show.
*In my next article, I'll make reference to another question that was asked, still in respect to Sunday's teaching.*
The remark.
To summarize what she said:
She basically stated that divorce isn't allowed and that's why one must be very careful before choosing a partner. She said that if a marriage is going through crisis, it's better to put it into God's hands than getting divorced.
***Then she said:***
*"If my daughter brings a man whose parents are alive but aren't together, I'll never allow her to get married to him."*
This remark definitely sparked up gestures from the congregation, some were in support and others were opposing. *Others like me.*
*I'll still love you to air your views as regards this.*
***"Would you allow your child get married to a person from a broken home?."***
There was this lady who sat beside me, from the way at which she engaged me in a conversation, I'm guessing she read my mind through my gesture.
She plainly agreed with the facilitator, she argued that a man or lady who is coming from a broken home would see having a broken home as a normal thing and should incase any issue arises, instead of **fixing**, he'll surely opt for **divorce**.
***Sighs...***
Oh yes! There's so much sense in what she said, her answer was completely brilliant, but then I asked:
***What if God was the one who orchestrated their Union?***
*As a parent, would you still say* ***"no"*** *to God's will?.*
***She gave this brilliant answer by saying:***
*There would have to be proper checkup on the man or lady, to be sure he's nothing like his parents, or to be sure he'll never opt for taking/making irrational decisions as regards his marriage.*
That has basically answered it all.
***My answer is this:***
*"It depends."*
A broken home isn't the fault of a child, a child shouldn't suffer the result of his parents irrational mistakes, and as a parent, it's always best if we consider our children before doing some things.
***A person becomes what he hears, sees or read.***
***The eyes and ears are really powerful sense organs.***
Some of these murderers we see in the world today were trained that way; right from their young age.
Some prostitutes were trained to be prostitutes right from small.
It might be hard to convince people in these categories amongst others, that their way of life is abnormal, they grew up believing it was normal and it was through hearing or seeing that from either of both of their parents, friends or just anyone around.
***A person from a broken home should be taught and trained by any of the parents he/she is with; to understand that not all marriages end up that way.***
The deed has been done, but then even though the home is broken, the parent in charge of caring for the child should make sure the child doesn't grow up with hatred. If possible, such parent shouldn't cry when the child is there, else it might prolly make the child feel it was the other parent that made this particular parent shed tears.
Also, parents shouldn't make the child feel that the other parent wasn't a good father/mother.
*"Your father is a good man, but we just didn't work out fine."* Is better than saying:
*"Your father is vile!, Don't ever talk to your father again, the day you talk to him Is the day I'll sign out from being your parent."*
***A person from a broken home might not necessary have a broken home.*** *It all depends.*
Above all:
It's always better to reason properly before playing the game of marriage. There's every tendency that our children become what they see us do.
Just like one of the facilitators said, as a parent, how do you react when you're:
Stressed.
Angry.
Sad...
*If you're a parent and you can't control your anger, there's every tendency that your child would grow up not being able to control his/her anger.*
Apart from thinking wisely before playing the game of marriage, one should also think wisely before getting pregnant for an irresponsible man, who might not be willing to claim responsibility to being the father of a child.
*We presently have so many children who have been denied by their own father, all because he's scared, probably not ready to marry their mother, not financially able to fend for his child, irresponsible, a play boy amongst all other names I can't remember.*
That'll be all for today's article, it'll surprise you to know that up till this moment, I've not found a suitable title, guessing I'll just call it: **"broken home?."**
Till we meet again in my next article and in yours.
Thanks for reading.
