Feeding The Flames
A blessed Good Friday, read.cash!
I thought to still be taking some off today since it is still Holy Week, but I stumbled a short video on Facebook that kind of bother me.

This is one of those topics online that will diversify people, but you know what? I will give my thoughts on this one and I am guessing, I would get some rebuttals here and some may not agree on what I am going to say, so let's begin the discussion.
TWERK IT
So, there's a little girl at 7 years of age dancing and twerking in front a camera wearing an extremely sexy outfit with a very explicit music (with drug and s*x lyrics) in the background that it's excessively unequivocal for her age. The person taking the video is no other than her mom and she was very proud for what her little girl's doing. That is kind of sad and disturbing to me. I'm guessing the type of mom who thinks it's cute doing that is isn't much concerned with appropriateness.
Alright, before you lash out and tell me "stay out of other people's business, it's their life", let me simply express what I felt watching that 30-second video.
I am a mother of 9-year old girl and there are numerous things not innately hostile that I actually wouldn't allow her to do. She can enjoy her hobbies, she can dance if she wants to- that would be awesome (unfortunately she's not into it), but I'll stand up and say "NO" when she goes beyond inappropriate. She's 9. Let a kid be a kid. Pass on the twerking to the grown-up adults, where I can see the value in it.
This kind of dance is a sexualized act. A young little girl should not in any way do it. Some think it is cute, silly and funny. So if you take a highly sexualized activity, and have a little girl do it, it's just cute and silly? I can't think anything of a good opinion as to why a parent should let their kid do it. Yes sure, they can. It's legal because no one is saying it isn't. It doesn't mean they're better off.
Okay, some ladies and women twerk just for fun, dancing, hobby or even as a way of their workouts. That's fine. I have no problem with that. Having said that though, I don't think minors (ages 12 and below) should twerk in public especially broadcasting it on social media. It's totally a different story. I am a little conservative and it makes me feel old expressing what I feel and so be it. I am definitely side eyeing a lot of young little girls nowadays, and looking at my daughter making mental notes. No and again, not in my house.
If someone thinks it's cool to jump off a bridge and told you to follow because it's the trend, would you?
In this time of global pedophile rings, who in her sanity would take care of that sort of fire. You are feeding the flame and that is a clear child-abuse. Again in my point of view, that is not okay. It it never okay. Parenting to me is a very serious matter. I'll leave it at that. Respect.
Let's show our best to people we truly care about especially to the young kids who rely on us so that they will get the best of us, not what's left of us. Wishing you all a decent Friday, my friends. Xoxo.
One love,
