Giving Gift In The Real World (I Finally Found My Beneficiary) ***December 28, 2021*** Ever since I was young, I always wanted to help those who are truly in need, especially the old homeless ones that I'm seeing on the streets. It's just so heartbreaking seeing them struggling and still grinding despite their very old age. Then I told myself, once I become capable of giving help, I would really help them. And if I won a lottery, I would donate to charities and help the less fortunate ones. That's how little Jane thinks. But because of Bitcoin Cash, I felt like I am more capable of giving help now, may it be small or big. Following my 12 Days Of Christmas BCH Gift-Giving, I opted to share my blessings, not only with this community but in the real world as well. Unfortunately, my plan about converting my BCH to fiat failed, as using the P2P merchants on Binance needs an HK bank account in which I don't have. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to find her that day, so I just kept the gifts and would just give them to her once I saw her on the street.

While spending my Christmas day on the street, I realized how lucky I am compared to others. And no matter what people say something bad about me, I should remain positive and shrug off the negatives. I've been through a lot this year and I don't want to deal with the negativity anymore. December 26 was spent with my friend so I didn't look for my beneficiary on the street. And on December 27, I really felt worried about her as the weather was so cold. And even me who's inside the house feel cold as well, how much more those on the street. I had a chance to go to the market so I brought the pack of gifts with me, hoping to see her on the street. I started to look for her at the 7/11 branch where she usually stays, then around the wet market. The last part was behind the mall where her small tent was located. From the distance, I spotted an old woman wearing a jacket that looked familiar to me, and my heartbeat raced so fast. I was certain that it was her. She was outside her tent picking up things. Look at her condition, she already has a hunchback but she's still pushing a cart to collect cartons on the street, just so she could have money to buy her food.

Her tent is just so small, how can she sleep inside? It's heartbreaking. I guess she's sitting while sleeping as she can't even make her body straight or get up once she lays down. I peeked inside her tent and there was no mat on the ground. It must be so cold for her at night.

I don't know what to do at first, or what to say as she doesn't understand English, and I can't speak Chinese. And she noticed me standing behind her so I talked and I gave her the pack of gifts.

She was hesitant at first and gave back the plastic bag to me. But then I insisted and put down the plastic bag on her small chair. And she looked so happy while checking the stuff inside.

She was curious about the red-colored stuff inside, so I took it out and told her that it was a jacket while pointing to the one she's wearing. She thought that it wouldn't fit her as I chose the kid-size. But I helped her remove her jacket so I could wear the new one on her.

I was glad that the jacket fits her and she seemed to like it as it was thicker and more comfortable than her old jacket.

I also took out the gloves and put them on her hands, and showed her the pair of socks which she liked. One thing I noticed was, she had difficulty putting on her jacket by herself, because of her body condition. She was still wearing the same jacket from the day I saw her sleeping outside the 7/11 store. You can check it in the photos above.

I hope she's happy now that she has a new one, and a pair of gloves so her hands won't feel too cold anymore. That would also protect her hands from getting wounded in pushing the cart or picking up the boxes on the street. Some people think they aren't capable of helping others. We are all capable. Helping makes us connect with others and feel happier and blessed. Isn't it overwhelming when you see others smiling because of your good deeds? Now, think of what you can do.
