Filter it Out
**Have you ever been away from read cash for some days? One thing that surely happens when you come back is that you will meet a plethora of seemingly never ending notifications that you will have to deal with.**
Most especially when you have a lot of friends and admirers. It is really tasking clearing all those notifications.
*I remember my early days on this platform. I get frightened when ever I see the red notification button; that refuses to go away until I learnt I can clear my notification by clicking on "****mark as read"*****.**
Despite that I still had issue clearing out my notification because they are all jumbled and of different types.
*Some are comment notification, some are notification of articles some are replies, some are that of upvotes, some are mentions*.
Until I discovered the filter option. The filter options allow me to be able deal with similar notification at a go. It is really helpful and with it was able to thrash out my notifications better.
This feature motivated me to write today and I realize how we can learn lessons from the filter options to deal with our everyday lives.
Life filter
Life you can't be everything to everyone but you can be something to someone - You don't have to be everything to everyone you just need to be something to someone.
Our lives should not be about pleasing everyone we need to learn how to filter things that are not needed in our life.
Do you find yourself surrounded by negative and toxic people? Do you find it difficult to remove them from your personal life? Are they career killers or have they just been covering up your light?
Most times we need help in filtering these people from our lives?
If you have ever dealt with negativity in your life, then you know how hard it is to filter it away from positivity. I mean, if you do not filter it in a proper way, you will feel bad for the rest of your life.
Negativity is one of the biggest killers that we face in life but only if we let it control us. Basically, negativity is a projection in your mind about something or someone that happened in the past. **The only way to eliminate the negativity out of your mind is by using positivity to filter it out.**
You see, if you would not think about what makes you feel bad, then it would go away. I am not saying that we should forget the bad things that happened to us in the past with people, but we should use positivity to remember the good things they have done as well. This way we can look at them as real people instead of letting them control us through negativity.

Today's discussion
The world is in a pretty bad state. This is not breaking news. Through the news in various media we get to know, read and watch about all the bad things happening in the world. We assume that most people agree with us that things like war, pollution, corruption, and bad health care are bad — but that not the case there are a lot of people out there who don't even care of what is going on in the world as far as their pocket is being filled with dollar.
This may seem like a controversial statement to some. Certainly the world is a mess. So many people and countries are oppressed and in poverty. There seems to be no way forward and the future looks bleak. But this is actually an example of a common human fallacy.
**Meliorism is the belief that the world can be improved through human effort and that humans should try to improve it. Of course some people believe that there are insurmountable obstacles to improvement, or that any attempts will not work, but these are just excuses for inaction.**
Indeed, the evidence that the world can be improved is all around us. Look at how much the world has changed in just 50 years, or how much it has changed in a single person's lifetime. The most important improvements happen slowly, over many generations, but they have still happened nonetheless.
**Meliorism, from Latin melior “better”,is a fancy word for the belief that we can make the future better than the present. It's an optimistic belief in the ability of social progress and human agency to improve things**.
The doctrine of meliorism is itself an antidote to its antithesis, a philosophy called "solipsism" which holds that we can never experience reality outside our own consciousness, and that because we are limited to only experience reality from our own perspective, we can never know what anything is truly like in any objective sense. Solipsism is the opposite of meliorism because it holds that human beings can only know their own inner subjective experiences and nothing more.
**Solipsism portrays Self-absorption, an unawareness of the views or needs of others;**
Those who believe in meliorism tend to work hard for a better condition or state of things, and it is related to the concept of progress...
In my opinion, there are two types of people: optimists and pessimists.
Optimists (or meliorists) like to think that if they just keep doing what they're doing, things will get better on their own. They think it's best to stay the course.
Optimism is wonderful when you're in a good place and things are getting better each day. This attitude lets you coast along without having to do much thinking about your current path.
The story is more powerful than we think. What’s interesting is that the history books are written by those who were in power, who won the battle, or the war. Before these books are published, they are crafted, massaged, and polished.
History or stories need to be told with the utmost truth. For example; a child can be exposed to illustrations of white men with guns that are facing off against people who are women or people of color. The child grows up thinking that it’s okay. They may even become desensitized to such scenes by the time they reach adulthood
Closing Thoughts
Every time we make something, we are making what will one day come to be known as history. But history will only be kind to those who did good.

Life of King Jehoshaphat in Retrospection
**2nd of January, 2022**
**23rd writeup overall. 2nd in the year 2022**
Happy first Sunday of the year my fellow readcasher. Slowly the euphoria of the holidays is dwindling as the weekday start tomorrow. But well it is still Sunday so let bask in the joy of witnessing the first Sunday of the year
Hey amigo come and journey with me as we look and discuss the life of a man whose name is my username.
**Jehoshaphat is an Hebrew name meaning "Jehovah or Yahweh has judged".** The name can also be spelt alternatively as Jehosaphat, Josaphat, or Yehoshafat.
There are quite a few number of men who bear the name Jehoshaphat in the bible but they are only briefly mentioned. The most written about and the most famous is no other than Jehoshaphat the son of Asa and the fourth king of the kingdom of Judah.
As it was recorded in the *second book of* *Kings chapter 22 vs 42;* Jehoshaphat became the King of Judah at the age of 35 after the death of his father King Asa.
Jehoshaphat like his father Asa choosed to walk in the way of the Lord and follow his commandments. He removed all signs of idolatry from the land of Judah. He also made sure that the law of the Lord was taught by the priests and Levites in every cities in Judah.
Because Jehoshaphat kept to God's commandments he was blessed with wealth and the surrounding kingdom came to respect him. As recorded in 2 Chronicles 17: 10
*The fear of the Lord fell on all the kingdoms of the lands surrounding Judah, so that they did not make war with Jehoshaphat*
The first lesson
**The first lesson we can learn from the life of king Jehoshaphat is that by choosing to follow the way of the Lord. God's protection and blessing would come our way.**
Became friend with the ungodly.
Remember that the kingdom of Israel and Judah was once together but got splitted during the reign of King Rehoboam who was King Jehoshaphat great grandfather. (you can read about it here `https://read.cash/@Jehoshaphat/who-is-your-adviser-2267fc4e` ). Ever since then there has always been conflict between the kingdom of Israel and the kingdom of Judah
King Jehoshaphat decided to mend the rift between the two Kingdoms by allowing his son to marry Athaliah, the daughter of king Ahab of Israel. Unlike Jehoshaphat king Ahab wasn't god-fearing and he was an idolator a d his wife was a Baal worshipper named Jezebel
One day King Jehoshaphat went to Samaria the capital of Israel to visit king Ahab. During his stay king Ahab persuaded him to join in a war against Ramoth-Gilead. Jehoshaphat agreed.
Before the war began King Ahab told Jehoshaphat that he would disguise to hide the fact he was the king but Jehoshaphat should put on his on kingly robes. As the war intensifies the opposition King order his soldiers to make sure they kill the King of Israel. When the enemy soldiers saw Jehoshaphat they thought he was King Ahab and all the enemy armies surrounded him to attack him.
Jehoshaphat at that point realized his foolishness and cried unto God for him to be delivered. God answered his prayers and they soldiers in his pursuit realized he wasn't the king of Israel.
In the battle king Ahab was struck by an enemy arrow and he died from his wound.
**Jehoshaphat returned safely to his house in Jerusalem and God sent a prophet to rebuke him for being an ally of king Ahab**.
Second Lesson
**Avoid ungodly people because they would make you sin and put you into trouble.**
**Victory over the Moabites and ammonites**
Much a later after the brouhaha that happened in Ramoth-Gilead. The kingdom of Moab formed a confederation with other kingdoms to wage war against Judah.
When Jehoshaphat heard of the approaching army he gathered all the people of Judah and together they prayed to the Lord to deliver them from the approaching enemies. God answered their prayers and through the mouth of Jahaziel God sent a message which can be found in 2 Chronicles 20: 15. He said:
*King Jehoshaphat and all who live in Judah and Jerusalem! This is what the Lord says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s*
God indeed fought the battle for them for He made the approaching enemy armies quarrel among themselves and they killed one another.
Third lesson
**Just like Jehoshaphat always ask God for help before beginning any task. Because by no strength shall any man prevail but by God's will**

Everyone around the globe has witnessed the new year and even at the time of the publication of this article some of my fellow read cash colleagues living in countries in the eastern part of the world like Philippines, Malaysia etc, are already in the second day of the new year.
A lot of things happened in the year 2021 that were so remarkable. I think I would find time to write about it later.
*But let me reminisce one; on the 19th of January last year an inferno happened in my community as a result of an explosion of a petrol laden pipeline. A lot of houses were burnt even houses that were far from the incident site and a lot of lives were lost in the inferno. Thankfully the fire didn't spread to the section where my house was situated.*
Sometimes when I look back I remember I realize all the hazards that the Almighty made me and my family scale through. I begin to sing song of praises and I am deeply grateful for what He has done in my life in 2021.
Today's topic
Every year the new year comes with a list of resolutions. It is a time for us to reflect on what we have done in the past year and make changes for the future. Unfortunately, most people that write down these resolutions will have broken them within a week.
According to research made, one of the reasons they won’t achieve their goals is because they lie too much. We all lie. From the little white lies in relationships to the lies that some companies tell to make a sale, we all fib (fib means a lie, typically an unimportant one) when we don’t think the truth will get us in trouble or benefit us in some way.
Honesty is something that cannot be replaced. Honesty is something that cannot be replaced no matter how hard you try. It always shine through, no matter how hard you try to conceal it. Honesty can be brutal. It can be hard to accept. It can force you to face the truth that you have been trying to hide from in front of yourself, but you will never regret a moment of honesty because there is nothing as honourable as being honest.
Honesty will always make you a better person, in every aspect of your life. There's always a reason to tell the truth. No matter what the reason is. Whether it's because it's the only option left or because it's the best option available or just because it's the right thing to do. No matter what the reason is, honesty is always the option that you should take in any situation especially in this new year.
Honesty is a good trait to possess. In a day and age where so many people play fake. Let take a look at social media where a lot of people are living fake lives portraying themselves as people who they are not. While it nice to have the best pictures or videos of ourselves and look good when people view our profiles a lot of individuals go to the extra miles filled with deceit.
**It is always worthy and nice to see people who are just true to themselves.**
Everyone knows that trust is an important component of any relationship. Building trust between individuals is a challenge and really takes time. Honesty is the foundation that builds it up. Without being honest you can't earn the trust of people be it in a relationship, friendship or workplace.
As we proceed in counting days in this year let us resolve to take trait of honesty with seriousness.

While I was reading a religious tract I got to a chapter that the topic discussed was attitude. What caught my attention was the quote which says that "attitude is 100 percent."
The author also went on to demonstrate that according to our alphabet system if you assign a numerical value to each letter (1-26). Attitude will equal to 100%.

Attitude is the nature, quality, and degree of behavior of something or someone. The general intention, the general disposition to act or work in a certain way.. A fixed disposition of mind with regard to certain things; a settled frame of mind or state of feeling with regard to matters or circumstances; as good or bad, favorable or unfavorable, cheerful or downcast, calm or violent.
Bad attitude can be curtailed and reversed by good habits. Good habits can be developed and kept if we learn the art of self-discipline.
When you have a good attitude, you can make seemingly bad situations good or seemingly good situations better. A good attitude brings a positive outlook in every situation and helps you win at life. Having a positive attitude can help you realize your dreams, dream big and believe in yourself.
Attitude is an important determinant of one's future. Your attitude has a great effect on your behavior, performance and achievement. If you get out of some troubles, there is nothing more responsible than the right attitude.
Attitude is everything. It is a habit that you can choose. You can have the habit of success or failure. Don't let your bad attitudes define who you are. This is against change and growth. Everyone fails, but a good attitude will see him or her through tough times and pave the way for future success and achievement.
**While your skills determine your success, without the right attitude, you will not achieve the desired result. At times, it is not your skills that affect the outcome of your performance, but your attitude. When you have a bad attitude, you have absolutely nothing to offer to anyone**
In order to succeed, you must have the correct attitude. This isn’t necessarily something that you are born with but it is an attribute that we can learn. Having the correct attitude will play a huge role in your success. This can be a very difficult skill to master, but if you can develop the correct attitude, it will help you become more successful and happier.
**Discipline is another important factor for your success.** Developing it may be challenging at times, but once you obtain discipline it can help you reach your goals. This is why taking action and being persistent are so important. If you don’t take action then you won’t experience success.
**It also takes patience and persistence to be successful.** Take time to reflect on your progress and develop a plan as to where you want to go and what steps are needed for you to achieve your goals. Positive thinking is also extremely important for your success.
Closing thought
We should have confidence in ourselves and believe that we can do great things.From saying "to heck with it" to saying "let's give it a shot!" change is possible. You can make the change if you want to and you work hard enough.You may not get it first, second or even third time, but never give up, because you will get there eventually. I hope we start the new year with the right attitude.

*In the previous write-up I wrote about patience and the benefits of exercising patience.*
While I was in search of a topic to write today, I came across a quote in a history book. The history book contains a summarized version of the history of Europe from 16th century to the mid 20th century
The book started with a preface with discussion of the tremendous things that happened that shaped the history of Europe. One thing that caught my attention was a quote mentioned during the discussion of how European countries broke themselves from the grip of Papal influence.
The quote says;
**"No storm is so dangerous as calm, no enemy is so dangerous as to have none."**
Many great empires and kingdoms throughout the course of history have broken up because there was lack of enemy to keep them on their toes and together. So most times they crumble due to internal conflicts rather than external conflict.
That quote motivated me to write and discuss the importance of adversary and opposition. While we most often view adversary in negative view, it has a lot of importance.
Adversaries are important as they keep us on our toes. In a world where everything is getting better and better, the adversary is a great way of keeping things exciting. It goes without saying that we need people to help us grow, but if you are doing your job right, there will always be some opposition to your work.
*Even Jesus Chris while he was on earth despite the plethora of good works and miracles he did, he had adversaries; people who were often looking for loopholes in everything he does.*
In this world of ours there will be a lot of people who want to compete and be better than you, but it doesn’t mean you have to be insecure about it. If you’re genuinely doing your best and putting your best work out there, then that’s all that matters. The people who are going to try to tear you down are always going to exist. People are always going to try to make you feel like you’re not good enough.
You don't get to the top alone. There is always someone who is against you. We have to learn how to deal with opposition.
The greatest competition you will ever face comes from within. Once you have conquered that, you will feel a sense of euphoria that not many can describe.
Kobe Bryant, once said and I quote,
*"I look forward to the challenge of competition. I have learned over the years that when I face great opposition, it brings out the best in me."*
Success does not occur by chance. It comes about as a result of hard work, commitment and originality. You can see the success of anyone who's ever attained it, you might not see or we rarely see the opposition that was encountered before one eventually achieves it. When you encounter opposition don't allow it to stop you from achieving your goals. **If there is no resistance then there is no progress**
To wrap things up
A wise man once said, “Life is 10 percent what happens to you and 90 percent how you respond to it.” I think almost everyone can relate to this statement. There will always be opposition in whatever things we do, but what matters is how we react to them.

Success is not instantaneous

`In my previous article I wrote about how lack of patience made me abandon this platform for almost two months and how I nearly gave up. So today I have decided write something worth reading and educative about the virtue called patience`
Patience is not just an important virtue, it is crucial to success. From the earliest days of humankind, through to today’s business world, patience can be seen as the difference in achieving success. In the world today, it is clear that patience is becoming an anomaly. More and more often everyone is determined to achieve **instant success.** The drive for instant success has been developing for years and has recently become the norm.
Patience is a quality that is necessary for achieving greatness. **It requires that we sit through periods of inactivity and stagnation despite how excruciating it can be. It also demands that we remain focused on the end result.**
Patience is not for cowards who want things to happen yesterday. Patience is for visionaries who have a clear view on where they want to go and a strong belief in themselves. We need to have patience because time doesn't need to be rushed - we are only here once and there's no point accelerating it beyond the realm of our control.
*It is only those who make the right decisions when they need to that can still make them when they have to.*
**Everyone wants to be great, but not everyone can put in the time that comes with it. Everyone has goals but not everyone has the patience to see them through.**
Patience is a good quality that we need in the ever rushing world of ours. It is not a virtue only for those who are well-intentioned, but it is a virtue that everyone needs to master.
This is because patience is what will get you somewhere. **Patience on the road to success will keep you on the right path, while impatience can lead to wrong turns and poor choices.**
Patience is a virtue. It is also a skill that can be taught and developed. There are many benefits to a patient person, such as:
Patience can be an emotional safety net for people who are uncertain about their future. They can be confident that they will make it through.
Patience when properly practiced, requires tolerance and concentration on current events and needs. This helps lead to self-reliance and progress towards goals.
Patience may also prevent you from losing a sense of purpose in your daily activities. Being patient means that one takes the time to go through all the right motions with no rush and no anxiety.
Those who become restless, who cannot get enough done in their day, find it impossible to be true to themselves. For them, life has no meaning, no stability, and no purpose for living. Patient people however, are able to focus on the important things in their lives — family, friends, memories — in an unhindered way.
Patience is a virtue and in this world, we find ourselves lacking . In work, love, relationships and faith, people are struggling to be patient as they fall victim to the immediate gratification of their wants and desires.
**Underneath it all, is a growing impatience in our daily lives. We want everything now! We want information now! And we want results immediately. When we don’t get it, we blame others or we become negative or worse, we give up. However, the truth about life is that it will never happen instantaneously.**
To conclude; I hope we make the patience part of us in the coming new year.

Okay okay this year's Christmas has come and gone. Today is boxing day. The boxing day doesn't in any way relate to the sport of boxing so don't go about and start giving people punches (just kidding). Although in my country local boxing matches used to be organized in different neighborhoods on boxing day

Well I won't sugar-coat anything, this Christmas like last year's Christmas was just like any other day for me. Well I know a lot of people celebrated with friends and family and they had fun.
Well my immediate family is very small and most of my extended family live far away. So I was the only one at home like literally *"home alone"* nothing special. Well I can say with certainty that this year has been a wonderful year for me and I am happy about that.
Even though there are a lot of challenges and problems popping up here and there, a lot has happened this year, for me to be excited about. There are lot of things that happened especially joining this wonderful platform and its sister platform noise cash.
I remember when I was introduced to this platform on the second of October a day after we celebrated independence day in my country. By a senior friend of mine @Giddyboy I was eager to join I didn't hesitate a bit. I had just finished my exam concluding an academic session which was prolonged by the industrial action of the university lectures and COVID-19. I was at home doing nothing.
My first account on this platform was **"Tomi-Ajax".** I got discouraged at first because of lack of visit from rusty, although a lot people supported but then ***I haven't learned the virtue of patience.*** I had to abandon readcash and focus majorly on noise cash. After a month I finally decided to come back to read cash. I thought it will be better if I start afresh by opening a new account.
**Patience is very good virtue that we need** **to uphold.** I remember my first three articles were visited by rusty and all of a sudden he stopped visiting I really got discouraged and I felt like not writing but I didn't. I decided to exercise my patience and continue writing.
Lo and behold rusty came back last week and I remember vividly that I was jumping excitedly in celebration of his return in my hostel.
My Christmas gift
This Christmas was looking like I won't get any gift at all but thank God for the wonderful individuals who decided to bless my wallet with Bitcoin cash as my Christmas gift.

Lest we Forget, the true essence of Christmas
I guess everyone is thinking of Christmas, which is tomorrow. But I have a lot of work to do at home which might be overwhelming.
We were not released on time from school, yesterday I was still receiving lectures and it was in the evening until I got home. In the spirit of Christmas
The Christmas season has been commercialized before we were born and it won't change. As a lot of people see christmas as an opportunity to make extra money.
As we can feel the spirit of Christmas in the air and Christmas less than 12 hours here in my country. **While the celebrations are still ongoing, some individuals are finding it hard to still find the true meaning of this season**.
**The spirit of Christmas is not just about decorating a tree or about celebrating with family or eating and drinking but a time to show love and reflect on God's love for mankind It's about uniting people and showing love and kindness"**.
With the spirit of Christmas at its peak, we should be reminded that there are still many people who are being oppressed by the wealthy and powerful. That there many individuals that are living in poverty and don't have access to basic amenities.
We should be more concerned about providing shelter and food for those who don't have enough if we do have the power to provide these or render help.We should work together to help them out of poverty and save them from starvation. As we celebrate Christmas, let's take this time to reflect on those in need and try our best to help them out
**As Christmas involves gifting let gift ourself by changing our bad habits and behaviour.** We are always trying to improve ourselves in order to achieve some goal. Many times we get disappointed, angry and depressed. We always have excuses for our failures as we want to live with blame on something or someone. We can use this season to change this.
Christmas does seems to be the time to a lot of people let their guards down and have fun at any expense, at any cost. While this can be delighting it shouldn't be done in excess. Let not drink too much, or eat too much and spend too much. Everything should be done in moderation.
Remember it is a sin to waste food and other necessities when there are people around that can benefit from it.

Therefore our spoken words carries a lot of essence, and the things we say are often a reflection of the kind of person we are. The way we speak really matters. The words we choose can have an enormous impact on how we view ourselves, the world around us and ultimately, how we live our lives..
When we are interacting with another person, the spoken words are very important. Speaking to our children, parents, friends, and strangers is all done through speaking and the words we use.
That is why it is dangerous to use words that are derogatory or harmful because they can hurt people in ways we cannot realize until after we have said them. We must be careful with our language even when we are with our closest friends or family members
Words can be used to teach, to inspire or to harm and also to heal. What we communicate to others can either uplift them or tear them down.

But by being conscious about the words we choose, it reflect that we have a high level of intelligence and state of mind.
Everywhere on Social media, not excluding the movies and music are filled with everybody using profanities. Also, it is common for people to use these words in everyday conversation. Additionally, these words that used to be taboo are now being used in the mainstream media. However, there is no benefits in using profane words.
Using profane words degrades one and can be harmful to the mind. Most especially that why we get to use the words that people around us use the most.
Just like the popular saying; **"show me your friends and I will tell you who you are."**
That why we have to surround ourselves with people with like minds and thought, Because everything we listen to has an influence on our mind be it little or big including the medias we read, watch or listen to
Similarly, when speaking at conferences, interviews, job interviews, presentations and all other types of communication, the words that we use is quite important to know. Not only do we need to choose the right words when we speak, but we also need to know how those words are being heard.
We need to drive our communication in a way that it is heard correctly, so we won't be misunderstood. Lack of effective communication has resulted to the break-ups of many friendship, relationship and marriages.
Just as we about to step into Christmas and a new year. We should learn to change those habits that we are not proud of especially using bad languages.

*Today I would like to talk about a bad habit and act that can diminish one value in the society. I strongly dislike people with such and I know a lot of people do*.
Arrogance is an attitude and behavior characterized by excessive belief in someone's own abilities, that interferes with the individual's recognition of the rights and thoughts of others, their accurate assessment of themselves, and their sensitivity to the feelings of others.
**Arrogance is one of the worst habits that someone can have. It can lead you to lose friends, make enemies, and harm your reputation**.
Arrogance can be found in a number of different places, whether it is in politics, sports, academics and even religion.
Arrogance is a character flaw that has been around for ages. In fact, arrogance stems from a more general psychological condition called **narcissism**.
Narcissism can be defined as an excessive love or admiration for yourself and your own appearance. It is essentially an exaggerated sense of self-importance. This often leads to being overconfident and having too high a self-esteem to the point where you are too confident in your own abilities. A person suffering from narcissism will always seek adulation, praise and flattery.
Arrogant people are usually the most insecure people you will ever come in contact with. They lack confidence and lack any type of realistic self-esteem. They try to compensate for their lack of confidence and self-esteem by being a pompous ass. You can spot an arrogant person because they will not agree with you on anything and will probably cut you down continually just to make themselves feel superior. They are bored easily, and tend to be boring people themselves
If you have a relationship with an arrogant person, get out of it immediately, because it will eventually lead to self-destruction.
****When someone is arrogant and ignorant, the world is dangerous for them, and for those around them.****
There are people out there that become arrogant because they are very wealthy. They use their money to manipulate people, They don't like to be told what to do, what not to do, or how to do it, because they have all the money in the world and, from their perspective, why wouldn't anyone want to listen or follow them, if they have all the money in the world.
WAYS TO AVOID BEING ARROGANT
Do not brag about how successful you are
Stop thinking that no one else can do what you do as well as you can
Try not to be self centered.
Try to be open-minded and considerate of the feelings of others.
Listen to what people have to say and think about what they are saying rather than thinking of your own rebuttal
The only "good" thing about arrogant people is that arrogance is not contagious and they cannot pass it on to anyone else, so they can't hurt anyone else but themselves. Break up with them, avoid them and never, ever let them get under your skin.
Closing Thoughts
Arrogance is a bad habit or act that we should eschew from our daily lives. **Most importantly, we should never be arrogant to other people especially those who are less fortunate.**
Often, arrogance is seen as a positive quality. Dressing in Modesty.
`Hello Friends I welcome you to today's article. Yesterday I talked about writing and the difficulty involved in it. Today we are going to talk about dressing, but not just dressing alone but doing it in modesty.`
Modesty is a very important virtue. Although we are in a world where showing off and making a bold statement is the need of the day, modesty is a virtue that should be a incorporated in characters of every man, woman and child. We need to be “moderate” in everything we do, whether it is eating or drinking, being friends with someone, or dressing.
There is always discussion on what is modest enough and how much flesh can you show to be considered modest. Let's get a few things clear... modest is not having to show flesh that is not necessary and showing more flesh than necessary is being indecently dressed.
To know how to dress appropriately, we need to ask ourselves some questions:
**What's the occasion?**
**Is it casual or formal?**
**What's the temperature/climate like?**
**Where are you headed?**
And most importantly,
**"Do I feel comfortable in my outfit?**
We always have to make sure that our clothing is appropriate for the occasion or place we are headed to.
For example, you wouldn't wear a mini skirt to church, or a jersey to a job interview even if they are in style and make you look good.
It may be in style now, but it has it's season. Therefore, it's best not to follow trends that draw attention away from your character and towards your body image
**Dressing modestly does not mean wearing dull and boring clothes because the word modest implies something subtle, unassuming and restrained.**
When you dress moderately you are able to dress in a way that helps you not to stand out like a sore thumb and to also be able to blend into your surroundings.
There is nothing wrong with being different but it is important that before that you are comfortable with yourself and what you wear, because when you are comfortable with who you are and how you look, others will catch the drift and feel the same way
We live in a society where the media, friends and family are constantly trying to influence the way we dress. Dressing is not just a question of fashion but what we wear tells a lot about ourselves.
Today, we see the way you dress speak volume about you. Whether it be people on the street, or the person you are meeting to have an important conversation with, your attire defines the way people will perceive you.
Although what we say and our actions are very important, there is no denying that dressing let alone dressing correctly carries a lot of power. That’s why it is being argued that the way we dress is the way we are addressed

In our society, we often make the mistake of equating modesty with one’s age or position in life. Young women are often shamed for dressing immodestly and older men are ridiculed for wanting to dress well. But God has not called us to be either young or old, he has called us to be his own daughters and sons.
He expects us to act like young men, young women and old men because we are not to be of the world but rather belong to Christ who died for us on the cross.
Despite the expectations of our peers and society, one must never compromise their moral standards especially in dressing.

The Exigency of Writing
Writing comes with a lot of doubts and fear. For example, when you sit down to write, you usually ask yourself: What should I write about? Where can I find ideas for my writing? How can I present my idea in a way that is interesting and captivating to the audience?
Writing especially writing articles can put most writers in a quandary because you need to know that you are doing the right things
The first thing you want to do is think about the title. You want to make sure that it grabs your target; your readers attention and makes them want to read your article. The title should be short but at the same time contain all the crucial elements of your article. Meaning your title must match all you are saying in your article .
I don’t know if you go through the same thing. Especially when you’re first starting out writing, but you have this problem where you have to come up with a topic and I have the hardest time coming up with topics.
*Many times I feel discouraged to write because I can't think of a topic to write it and it makes me feel bad.*
It is often a challenging task to find a topic to write about. While some writers have an idea where they want to take their writing from, others feel stuck with not knowing where to begin.
Sometimes even if you have a topic in mind, it is still difficult to come up with a good starting sentence for your essay or any other piece of writing.
Finding a topic sometimes can be stressful but there things we can do get them. For example
You can talk about lessons you gained from a movie you recently watched
Reading books increases one's mental faculty and it helps you to get topics and ideals to write down easier.
Being a outdoor person! Yeah you heard me right. When you go out especially to places you haven't been to before, the experience can be thrilling and it can spark your imagination.
You can also write about a place you admire, for example countries or cities you wish to go to.
After you figure out what you are going to write about, you need to think about what you should have in each part of your article
The important thing about writing is to have something to say, and not say anything that doesn’t need saying. I have written a lot of articles. But I had a problem with this.

Importance of Writing.
Being a writer is not only a profession nowadays but being a writer requires passion, creativity and imagination. It is not just a job or career but an art that one must possess to be able to write books, journals and articles. Writing helps us find our truth and share it with other people. When we learn how to write, we start to connect with the world much better and as we grow older, our writing also improves.
What writing offers us is a chance to connect with other people through words. It helps us express our emotions and share them in the world. It helps us discuss situations happening around us. We can use our writing to review something we have experienced in the past or just something that happened that day for example, a book we have read or something that has inspired us lately.
In conclusion
It doesn't matter where our writing is going to be published or how it's going to be used but what matters is we enjoy expressing ourselves through words.

Motivation; what a goal needs to survive.
As we work towards our goals in life, the biggest barrier to achieving them tends to be the motivation to stay on that track. This is why a lot of people give up at specific points or decide to go for another goal instead of the one they originally set.
We all have goals and dreams we wish to get fulfilled. But just as plants needs carbon dioxide, water and sunlight to grow. Our goals needs motivation to survive. Without motivation, most goals dies in their infancy
Motivation comes in many forms. It can bring the mind to a place that no one else can. It's that feeling you get when you want to conquer the world and be the best. It's that voice that tells you to run a marathon or climb a mountain.
To go on in life and do what's expected of you. The motivation may come from within or it may come from others. But it better come from somewhere, because we can't always motivate yourself all time. You might get tired
I have come to realize that motivation is something that happens on a day-to-day basis. You can't wait until you feel inspired or motivated to start something new.
You have to put yourself in situations where inspiring things are happening or create those opportunities yourself. Every day, we see stories that inspire us, people that motivate us, and experiences that ignite us - that makes us want to create or write something unique.
No matter what shape or form it comes in, motivation is something you have to find every day (or go find).
Everyone is motivated by something different. Different people have different source of motivation
Like many people, you probably have a project that you want to get done. Maybe you're writing a book, building your business, or just want to write that novel. We all know that feeling when you need a little motivation to get the ball rolling. Sometimes it can be hard to find someone who is willing to push you when you have all the time in the world.
Types of motivation
Motivation comes in different types and I would share with you two major types of motivation.
Hero motivation - This is when a story or character inspires you to accomplish something. This can be a symbolic character or just someone with a certain story; someone that you “relate” to. Superheros are a very common example of hero motivations. You can also have symbols or characters that represent an idea or a cause that you want to fight for. These can come in the form of celebrities, real-life people, or even fictional characters.
Ideal motivation - This is when you use a specific ideal or goal as motivation to keep going forward with the work at hand. This can be patriotic values, principles, opinions about the world, goals for your life, etc.
After reading a post online about how a criminal was locked away for life with no chance of parole, I realized that he'd actually gotten what he deserved. While I'm in no way justifying his actions, I couldn't help but feel a sense of relief that he was behind bars. But then a thought crossed my mind. What if from the moment he was born, he was told that he won't amount to anything?
What if he didn't have anyone to push him in the right direction?
I once read a story of how a 15 year old boy went from having nothing and no one, to becoming a millionaire by his 21st birthday. And it all started with a motivational push from one man.

Time is Relative

Relativity
According to Albert Einstein, ok ok.. before you think I am here to lecture you about physics and the theory of relativity (haha) no I am not.
I doubt there is anyone who hasn't heard about Einstein before. I believe he must be the most renowned scientist in the world or in history.
Albert Einstein came up with two theories; the theory of general relativity and theory of special relativity. These theories came up in the 1920s and it shook the whole physics world or perhaps the whole science community
A lot of people found it difficult to understand it and most especially the laymen who were not scientist. While the buzz and razzmatazz continued about Einstein discovery. A lot of people and journalist wanted Einstein to explain and simplify the theory.
One day someone asked Einstein to summarize the principle of relativity into two sentences. Einstein laughed, he knew it was impossible to summarize long pages of scientific work into few sentences.
So made a joke to simplify things. He said
***If you step on hot coals for a second, it would seem like you have been on it for hours. But if you spend an hour with a beautiful lady it would seem like you have just spent a second.***
Everyone laughed, well actually what Einstein said was very true despite being so hilarious.
Same when you're doing something you enjoy. You barely noticed of the time spent or that has gone.
For instance students get bored in a class that is over one hour. Especially in a class that is not interactive. But the same set of students can stand watching a football match of 90 minutes without feeling fatigue. Or they can spend hours playing arcade games without complaining.
In conclusion
Life is not always bed of roses, so sometimes we might to do some things we do not enjoy doing but are very important to our survival, because we don't enjoy doing them doesn't mean we should neglect them.
We should learn to do our duty as when due.

Holla! I am back again. I am so sorry I wasn't able to publish an article yesterday. I got to the hostel very tired that I slept for four hours after the introductory class in the chemistry laboratory.
Well this isn't our first chemistry lab, but the lecturers decided that there should not be practical this week. So that people who had not registered for the lab could be opportune to do so.
I guessed the reason I slept for that long was because I have deprived my body of adequate sleep since I resumed back to school last week.
Right now I even think I am falling ill because I am having headache and body pains.

Crypto Lord
Yesterday night after having my dinner at a canteen. I went with my friends for a stroll. When It was 9pm I decided to head back to the hostel.
Back in the hostel, in the passageway I meet a friend I knew since my first year of college, we became friends primarily because we were in the same faculty.
We greeted and I decided to follow him to know and see his room. On getting to his room I also met two people I knew. We were all kinda surprised that we knew each other.
***"Did you know him"*****; we all asked ourselves simultaneously**
We were all surprised we knew each other in a way. While we were chatting and chattering, a roommate of theirs who was busy with his laptop looked up and pointed to me suddenly and said to his roommates;
***"This guy na crypto lord"*** a pidgin English version of saying "this guy is involved in crypto or he is good with crypto"
I was shocked and surprised, because firstly, the word **"crypto lord"** is a wrong description or name title for someone like me. Although I knew it might have been a caricature.
*I can not refer to myself as a crypto lord because I know very little about crypto currencies, I even don't have in possess any other coin apart form Bitcoin cash.*
But what got me scared was how my friend's roomie; a stranger, knew I had involvement with any cryptocurrency. When only very few of my friends knew.
So with immense curiosity I began asking him,

Then the guy finally opened up to me after much urging and pressing for an answer by me, he told me that he was in a room when I was talking and teaching a former roommate of mine about Bitcoin cash and noise cash.

This scenario made realize how our lives are interwoven with one and another. Just imagined if I had done something silly in the room where this guy got to know me.
I might have thought no one knew me but see how fate will have it. He is a roommate to three of my friends.
In life we have to be careful of what we do, what we say and the way we act because people are constantly watching us. You might think they are strangers or these people that do not matter. But that isn't true.
Have you heard of the saying that the **first impression matters a lot**. Well that isn't a lie. We mostly remember people by the first act we see them do or by the first words we hear from them especially if that act or word is spectacular, be it good or bad.
You'd be shocked that a lot of people know more about you than you can imagine.
I remember in high school I constantly meet people who know me by name and whereas I didn't even no their names. Bear in mind I wasn't so popular.

You should put on your best act wherever you go.

During the latter part of King Solomon's reign, he backslided from the way of the Lord by going to worship and make scarifices to foreign gods.
The main reasons for the fall of King Solomon was caused by the number of foreign wives and concubines he had. He went after women from various pagan countries like Moab, Ammon, Edom, and he also married a daughter of Pharaoh (King of Egypt).
It can be said that Solomon held the record for the highest number of wives and concubines for any biblical king. As it was recorded in 1 kings chapter 11 verse 22; that he had seven hundred wives and three hundred concubines.
God had earlier warned the Israelites that they shouldn't marry from foreign countries; wives or spouses, because he knew it would turn their heart from worshipping Him to start worshipping idols.
Solomon neglected this ancient warning and due to old age he succumbed to the wishes of his wives and thereby did a lot of abomination in the sights of the Lord.
This made the Lord angry that he made those neighboring kings who were formerly Solomon friends and allies to despise him, and he also promised to cut ten tribes of Israel from Solomon's kingdom and hand it over to Jeroboam. Leaving Solomon's descendants with only the kingdom of Judah due to the promised he made to Solomon's father; King David.
After the death of Solomon, his son Rehoboam was made king. But just as God had promised to cut the ten tribes of Israel from the hand of Solomon lineage it came to pass.
**But what made Rehoboam loose the control of the ten tribes is what prompted me to write this article.**
When Rehoboam was made king, the elders of Israel came to him to ask if he will continue the harsh treatment and heavy yoke his father put on them.
He told the assembly to await his reply in three days time. Then Rehoboam went out to seek advice from elders who served during his father's reign.
The advice of the elders was recorded in 1 Kings chapter 12 vs 7
They replied, “If today you will be a servant to these people and serve them and give them a favorable answer, they will always be your servants.”
Meaning he should listen to the voice of the people so he can earn their respect.
But the foolish and stubborn young King Rehoboam decided to discard the advice of the elders by going over to consult his young officers.
He asked them, “What is your advice? How should we answer these people who say to me, ‘Lighten the yoke your father put on us’?”
10 The young men who had grown up with him replied, “Tell these people who have said to you, ‘Your father put a heavy yoke on us, but make our yoke lighter’-tell them, ‘My little finger is thicker than my father’s waist.
11 My father laid on you a heavy yoke; I will make it even heavier. My father scourged you with whips; I will scourge you with scorpions.’
1 Kings 12: 9-11
When three days was over the people of Israel gathered to meet Rehoboam to hear his response, but instead of Rehoboam listening to the advice of his father's elders he choose to heed to the advice made by his own young officers.
When the children of his Israel heard this, they rebel against Rehoboam and made Jeroboam their King.
In conclusion
Many youths are like Rehoboam, who neglected wise advice and thereby led to their fall.
Also you have to be careful of who you seek advice from. Many people will advise you to do something not because the want the best for you but because they want to see you fall.

Eureka!
Yah! A new month is here friends and not just any month but the last one of the year; December!
I woke up to see a lot of messages and status update on Whatsapp; announcing and celebrating the new month.
*(Note this article was ought to be published yesterday; 1st of December, but I was so busy and it was completed and published today 2nd of December)*
I have absolutely no reason not to join millions of people around the world in the praise and thanksgiving to God. For it is by His grace that we are alive and healthy and able to witness this day.
Left me drift away from the merriment and celebration of the new month into the topic for the day.
Yesterday I participated in a riddle game hosted by `@Happyboy` on noise cash.

Can you answer the riddle in the picture? Well if you can't don't worry you aren't alone.
After reading the riddle twice I also couldn't find the answer I decided to close my phone.
As I was about to; voila! A thought popped up in my head. Without yet being confirmed I firmly believe I have gotten the answer
I typed the answer to the riddle which is "tongue". Yes tongue! It is tongue because despite you drinking water it still get thirsty and it is the only organ surrounded with saliva.
Immediately I made my comment true to his (@Happyboy) words. I was reward with $1. I felt so elated and I was pumped up like a football player who just scored his first professional goal.
My happiness wasn't because of the monetary gift but because I got the answer. I also was amazed on how fast I got the answer. While I as in the muse of that I remember the **"Eureka effect"**
The origin, meaning and the story behind Eureka.
"Eureka" comes from an ancient Greek word meaning "I have found it"
In modern English dictionary Eureka is defined as an exclamation or interjection indicating or used to celebrate sudden discovery of invention.
Eureka is attributed to the ancient Greek scholar named **"Archimedes".** I know many science students or scientist would know or must have heard of the greek scholar through the popular *"Archimedes principle"* taught in physics.
According to stories told years over years, it was claimed that when Archimedes went to have his bath on a fateful day as he submerged into the water bath he noticed that the water level rose.
*Of course that can't be the first time Archimedes noticed that, after all he isn't a baby*.
What was special about his observation, was the discovery that the volume of water displaced must be equal to the volume of the part of his body he had submerged. This then made him realized that the volume of irregular objects could be measured with precision, by simply submerging them in water.
He was so eager to share his discovery that he leapt out of his bathtub and ran naked through the street, shouting "Eureka! Eureka!"
Eureka effect
In relation to what happened to Archimedes the terminology **"Eureka effect"** was coined to to represent such a similar experience of suddenly understanding a problem previously not understood.
This effect can be said to have led to many discovery and invention of things or concept we have in science today.
Eureka effect made Sir Isaac Newton discover gravity from a falling apple. I am sure that wasn't the first time Newton was seeing apples fall from trees but on a fateful day. One apple change the way we think of the world through Newton discovery.
Albert Einstein is said to also experience the eureka effect in the the creation of the *theory of relativity.*
It was said that Einstein was having a discussion with a friend. And after the discussion he went home and he got the answer to the problem discussed. The next morning he was so excited that without greeting his friend he told him: "*I have solved the problem."* And the rest was history.
Such discovery comes suddenly that the discoverer might be bemused on how he or she got the problem solved.
Hope we all get to experience eureka effect that can bring about greats things in the month of December.

The Person of the year still got problems
I am starting this write up with a question?
**Is there anybody on earth without problems or challenges?**
I can bet your answers would be **No!**
We can say for sure that only those who are dead are free from the challenges or problems that we face on earth.
The heading of the article says **"The person of the year still got problems".** Why does he or she and why does it matters to you.
I would start off by telling you what inspired me to write this.
Yesterday I was happy with myself because I finally got to publish an article titled "the two way radio for the mind" *(you can click to read, it is just a two minutes read),* after more than a week of being unactive. Yesterday afternoon after I woke up from my siesta *(which was really necessary due to the fact that I slept very late at night)* I was sweating profusely.
Dry season has finally arrived after days of constant raining. I remembered how I was complaining about the rains but now there is so much heat and I just wish for it to rain so the weather can be cool.
I had to go and take a bath to cool off, before I started bathing I turned on the music player app on my phone. While I was enjoying the effect of the cool water on my body, my ears were also enjoying the melody that came from the speakers.
I have over 500 music on my phone so I put my player in shuffle mood.
A song titled "Man of the year" by the late musician and rapper Juice Wrld started playing and from it I got the inspiration to write.
The song belongs to the genre of hip-hop and rap and it is one of the songs in his posthumous released album; "legends never die"
In the song Juice Wrld was referring to himself as the man of the year and he talked about his battles with drug issues and self image problems. **Part of the lyrics says "man of the year still got problems".**
Man of the year meaning and it metaphorical use
Man or person of the year is an award given to an individual by organizations at the end of the year for their outstanding achievement or contribution in a particular sector of life or to humanity as a whole. It is a special recognition towards their effort or achievement they made in that year.
I see the song by Juice Wrld as a reminder for us; that no matter the status or level of greatness one has achieved; People still have problems they battle. Some might be inner demons or an addiction, mental and health challenges, relationship issues and the list goes on.
"Man of the year" is figurative way of telling us that no one is exempted from the troubles of life be it the rich or poor.
Just as the popular adage:
**The rich also cry**
Most times they cry in secret because a lot of people look up to them as an idol or figure to emulate.
Many battle with chronic depression and many in the end commit suicide due to shyness and not coming out to talk about their personal problems.
*Nobody on earth is perfect or lives in perfection.*
Many people believe that money can buy happiness, but the facts gathered from rich people, it can be seen that it doesn't.
Money or riches can be a catalyst for some people happiness, but just as different reactions in chemistry requires different catalyst yours might not be money or wealth.
People that surrounds us really matter, because they have a great influence on us. A lot of people's problems arises from their family, relationship partners or friends.
Remember challenges or problems only cease when one is dead so therefore let learn to face our problems squarely and open up to people who can be of help when it matters, **DON'T DIE IN SILENCE.**

The two way radio for the mind.
I fell in love with reading at a very young age. I would say I was influenced and motivated by my Dad because he really imparted the art of reading to me.
In fact as a kid I enjoyed reading the bible -most especially the old testament and I was a mini Bible scholar. Whenever it is time for bible quiz in the children church; I always come out on top.
My friends do ask me;

I simply reply them

Why are readers: leaders?
Readers becomes leaders because their world get enlarged by reading.
A book can be liken to a universe and when you read a book it's like you travel to another world.
Good books or articles mesmerize us and the memories of it stays in our heads perhaps forever.
Only readers who applies the knowledge that they have learnt from books to solve real life problems are those who become leaders. For knowledge is stored down in books.
**People always say that knowledge is power but that is not true.** ***It is a myth.*** **Knowledge only has the potential to become power, it only becomes power when we use it.**
The ways to mind
I will say that books are foods for the the mind and soul, and by reading we nourish our mind. Reading is also like a lecture for the mind.

Yes by Writing!
Reading and writing work in tandem. They can be said to be a two way radio for communicating with the mind.
By reading you communicate to your mind, but by writing you allow your mind to communicate to you.
In conclusion great leaders are not only vehement readers but they also have to write out their thoughts so their followers can learn from it

The Power of Pen and Speech 1
There are two great men that bear the name **"Martin Luther".**
One was a white man; a German born on the 10th of November,1483.
The other was a black man; an American born on the 15th of January, 1929.
The former was a priest, monk, an author who is less known by many nowadays.
The latter is no other than **"MARTIN LUTHER KING Jr"** a renowned baptist minister and civil rights activists that fought for the end of racial segregation against the blacks in the United States of America.
According to historical facts; Martin Luther king Jr was not named "Martin Luther king" at birth but "Michael King Jr". It was at the age of twenty-eight that his name got changed by his father who also changed his own name to Martin Luther king Sr. The change of name was made in the honour of Former Martin Luther the priest who was born in 15th century.
You might be wondering what do these these two men with the span of four hundred and forty-six (446) years between their birth had in common.
They had nothing in common but one. Both Men made great contribution that changed the world we live in. They both achieved their goal mainly with two things: *pen and speech.*
Let start with Martin Luther the priest and how he changed the world especially Europe with his speech and pen
Martin Luther
*(Note; that everything I wrote are all historical facts and it is not to tarnish the image of any faith or denomination.)*
Before, and during Martin Luther time, there was only one church in western Europe and that was the Roman Catholic church.
The church was headed by the pope. The Pope and the church had the final say over every religious activities, education and even into some political activities as well.
The Pope could excommunicate any body who decide to act against the church and his authority. As the power of the church grew so the level of corruption too.
The level of corruption grew to the extent that indulgence was sold for remission of sins. Money was collected from the peaseant by telling them that by paying for indulgence they would receive assurance, of escape of friends and family from the fires of purgatory. Luther wasn't happy with this and many practice that occurred in the church.
**What did he do?**
He utilized the power of his pen and speech. On October 1517, he published the famous ninety-five theses or contention against indulgence.
He wrote letters and gave speeches to speak against efficacy of the sales of indulgence and other doctrines that he believed to be wrong.
In 1520 he was excommunicated by the Pope, Leo X. But Luther was protected by friends who had come to appreciate his teaching.
Through his writing and preaching he won over the heart of the masses and they supported him. As a result Germany got free from the hands of the Pope and started practicing a form Christianity that was in line with interpretation of the scripture made by Luther. This form of Christianity was called Lutheran.
Martin Luther also made the translation of the Bible to German. His translation also inspire other authors to translate the Bible to their local dialect especially the English bible.
For, in those days translation of the Bible to other languages except Hebrew, Greek or Latin was forbidden by the Church and violators of the rule were fiercely perscuted.
The protest of Martin Luther was an opening for some other European countries to break from the union with the church in Rome and create their own National church. Churches that broke from the Catholic Church like the Lutheran, Anglican, Baptist were to be known as **"the protestants"**
