Shopping List Date: Saturday. 28th of May, 2022. I did it again! I went to the market without a list. Foolish mistake, but most of us have been there at least once right? Well I planned to hit the market today with my elder sister and my friend. My sister didn't need to be there but I begged her to come because between my friend and I, we're terrible price hagglers 😅 The seller could say an item is 2500 hoping that we'd make a bargain of 2000 (his intended price with a juicy profit) and we'd do just that, falling right into his trap. It's even worse when we haggle for 2,200 lol. The funny thing is how they would still act like they're doing you a favour despite knowing that they are ripping you off. For me, I usually feel bad if I have to stand for too long haggling with a trader. I feel worn out easily and give up. What's worse is that I usually used to have trouble walking away after making bargaining with s trader without buying, I feel like they would hate me for that lol. Nowadays, I've learnt to just walk away from the situation if it's not acceptable to me and I realise that despite them wanting to make sales, they understand a customers need to go elsewhere and they don't dwell on a customer that left but rather move on to the next as the business must go on and money must be made. Today, I set off to get myself a sneakers as I no longer had any. I also planned to buy a few other things I had on my mind all month. Now, the wise thing to do would have been to put those things down in a list with their possible prices so that I am better prepared financially and I don't forget what I wanted to get but I didn't do that. I took the money I had and planned to just buy stuff and hoped the money would be enough (and the planner of the year award goes to *insert drumroll*, —not me!). Now, another problem with not making a list is that you get attacked by so many other beautiful things that you then go off your plans; one minute you're trying to get a nice shirt, the next you're paying for ripe tomatoes and fresh onions— thankfully, that wasn't my case, yet. On getting to the market, I was bombarded by beautiful clothes and clothing accessories. I chanted my mantra "look away and keep moving" while I kept a straight face and looked right ahead, ignoring the calls of the traders. This tactic usually works but then I made a mistake of looking to my side, when I did a double take at the cloth that stared at me was when I knew I was gone, they had gotten me. Did I still get the sneakers I had in mind? No, but I got a different shoe I had always wanted and it was worth it. I don't think I need a sneaker anymore, maybe not at the moment. It was still nice to get a few new stuff and the best part about it is taking out what you've bought from the bag when you get home. It's even more exciting when you find something you forgot you had bought; it kinda feels like a gift from yourself to yourself lol. How did you spend your day today? Do you make a shopping list or just wing it? Thanks for reading, you are awesome!

Night at the Beach Date: Wednesday. 25th of May, 2022. I truly missed being here. When I started writing on read.cash, I was so consistent that I never skipped a day, but I broke that streak few weeks ago. However, I'm so glad to be back. Today was great, not because of any event in particular but it just was. I woke up feeling refreshed, work wasn't stressful at all and I breezed through it with few hours to spare so I spent those hours pretending to work while watching a TV series on my phone haha. Today, I recalled the night my colleagues and I went to the beach and I thought I should write about it. If you read my post yesterday, I talked about how I attended a work retreat and was able to bond with my colleagues outside of the work setting and it was really nice to see what everyone was like when they were not being professional. For the retreat, we stayed at a shortlet serviced apartment in a beautiful location. The day we arrived, someone suggested that we should go to the beach that night and hang out. We all knew we would be going to a beach at some point as we were informed so that we could pack our clothes appropriately. One of us however came with lots of work clothes and planned to wear formal shirt, trousers and a shoe lol. She was aware that we had to go to the beach as she was the one who informed us but she forgot to pack. We laughed about it with her and managed to style her clothes to be beach appropriate and it was cool. There were lots of beaches around and we chose one of the popular ones to go to. The beach was close but we experienced a little traffic on the way. When we got there, I was surprised to see how alive the night was. The place was filled with people, vendors were still actively selling their wares and people were moving about. We got some drinks and delicious food. After eating, we went to another section of the beach that was closer to the water. On getting there, there were red floating thingies in the water which I believe marks the point people are not allowed to go beyond as the water gets deeper from that point. Some of us went on barefoot and went into the water while we watched the waves as they grew bigger and swept our feet. We didn't go in too far, just enough to feel the strength of the waves. We held each other and tried not to fall whenever a big one came, it was funny. The life guards didn't even care about us and just laid on their chairs, backing us and discussing. One of us then drew our attention to some girls who had been walking to and fro since we got there. I didn't really pay attention to them until he explained that they were 'night workers'. My naive mind didn't believe him until I noticed they were dressed very differently than everyone, not beach appropriate at all, with little handbags and an exaggerated swing of the hips whenever they walked. I took my mind off them though as I didn't think it was my business. After spending about an hour in the water, I went to get 'suya' (meat slowly grilled openly, served with a specific blend of spices and wrapped in a paper. It is usually in a skewer but the chop it in small bits and give you a toothpick to eat with). The suya was really nice and I shared with others, I ate most of it though haha. After that, we went to a section that has something like a cabana built on the water. There we stayed, talked, had more drinks (I was having non-alcoholic drinks) and danced till we were exhausted. It was past midnight when we decided to head back to the house. We took our baths, came downstairs and kept talking until our boss told us we would have to wake up by 5am for morning exercise 😅 I didn't wake up till 7am. Thankfully, it rained that morning so we couldn't go out for a jog and I got to sleep for longer. Thank you so much for reading about my first experience of being at the beach at night. How about you? Been there at night before?

How It's Going Good day read.cash. I've missed everyone on here. I was away at first for a week and planned to return the day I posted a short article but I couldn't. However, I'm back and I'll tell you how I've been. **WEDDING** My leave started when I had to attend my dear friends wedding which I had been preparing for for over a month. It was really exciting, my clothes were perfect, I made my hair a day to the wedding, I also did my nails that same day. The wedding was on Saturday and everyone on the groom and bridal train had to arrive a day earlier at the hotel. It would be the first time for a lot of us meeting each other. I only knew two people on the bridal train and non of the groomsmen but I had had conversations with everyone for a month on the wedding group chat so it wasn't awkward when we all met. I went to the salon in the morning and left for the hotel in the evening. That night, we decorated a room and threw a surprise bridal shower for my friend. After that, we had dinner, changed into comfortable clothes and went to the presidential suite to play games with the guys. It was fun getting to meet everyone and bond. On the wedding day, the bride was late lol. The church waited anyway and her walk down the aisle was absolutely beautiful. We then proceeded to the beautifully decorated reception hall. We danced, sang, danced, laughed, danced and were just happy. The best weddings are one where the couple are happy and having fun. At night, the guests went home while the couple, bridesmaids, groomsmen and their closest friends went for the after party. I was happy to change out of my my long gown into something shorter and swapped the heels for slippers. The night went great, we were having so much fun that we didn't realise it was morning. After all the activities, it wasn't hard to fall asleep at night. The next morning, on Sunday, we went home although the couple went to church for thanksgiving. **TRAVEL** On Monday, I travelled to a neighbouring state but I won't go into so much details. It was a holiday and my only chance to travel at the time. I went to settle some business and hang out with friends. It was so much fun. I laughed, played, went out, ate a lot. I tried some meals and I didn't want the time to end but work I had to as the holiday only lasted for three days. **RETREAT** I went home on Wednesday and on Thursday, I had to attend my work retreat. I still had my essentials in the bag I packed for the wedding, which I also travelled with. I only had to change my clothes and add a few other things. The location of the retreat was luxurious and very comfortable. I arrived second and somehow chose the best room haha. I arranged my things, freshened up and went to hang out with the other person who was around. The retreat lasted till the weekend and was fun. We did some team building and planned for the coming quarters but we mostly had non work related fun. We went to the beach, the cinema, nice restaurants etc and we got to see everyone outside of a professional setting. @fantagira I danced salsa! A restaurant at the beach had their salsa night and I learnt that one of my colleagues is a dancer! It was so nice to dance. I watched the dancers on the stage too, they were great. I didn't go up on stage though, I'm too shy for that lol. Sadly, I can't post any videos from my library. **AFTERMATH** I finally got home during weekend and had a day of rest before resuming work on Monday. There was a lot to do and I got overwhelmed by it but I finished my work on time and was proud of my progress but I had no time for myself or anything and eventually, I fell sick. I decided to take a break and recuperate. I feel much better now and I hope I'll be able to keep posting. I missed you guys a lot. My friends and sponsors here, I'm so glad to have you guys, and you'll start seeing me in your comments from now on. Rusty, I hope you don't forsake me because of my absence lol. Thank you so much for reading ♥

@Daria

Wedding Fun Date: Saturday. 30th of April, 2022. I have to put that I wrote this last night but didn't get the chance to post since this morning, hence the date. Hey guys, how is your day going. Mine has been fun as my friend got married today and it was awesome. I still believe the best wedding celebrations are the ones where the couple are having fun as they tend to set the mood for the rest of the audiences. There was joy, happiness, laughter and general good vibes. A lot went into the wedding process which I'll try to recall now. **Wedding Prep** In preparing for the wedding, my friend and I paired up to assist each other. The bride (let's call her A), my friend (let's call her B) and I were really close school friends and maintained our friendship even after school. B was the maid of honor and my wedding prep partner. One of the first things we did was to go to the market which we ended up doing several times. We don't live close to each other, about a 2 hours drive (including traffic), but the market is at a central location and gad everything anyone could need. I believe it is the biggest in the state. Imagine a whole local government with about 80% of it as a market. The first time we went there was to get shoes, weaves and a few supplies. Because of the size of the markets and where we came from, we were stopped at different busstops and couldn't find each other for an hour. Eventually, B had to take a commercial bike to get to where I was. One thing to note is that some people would rather give wrong directions rather than admit that they don't know the place lol. The other times we went to the market was to get accessories, bridal shower props, fabric, clothes. We got really lost together the second time, even worse than the first as we were able to locate each other more easily then we both got lost in the market and couldn't find away back to where we had come from. We passed through so many streets of market and again got multiple wrong directions from the marketers lol. The other times were easy. **Pre-wedding and Wedding** We were paired with a groomsman and got to know each other over chats and decided on a song to dance to for our entrance at the wedding reception. My partner and I chose a very danceable song and after the Dj's arrangement, we were positioned to go in last before the bride which was a huge responsibility as we responsible for getting the crowd hyped up in preparation for the entrance of the newly wedded. We all got to the hotel the evening before the wedding and decorated the bride's room for her surprise bridal shower. She came a bit late because she was setting up some things at the church. Her father is a preacher (bishop) and would marrying the couple. The bridal shower was so fun. We played around, took pictures, had finger foods, cake and drinks. We all took turns to talk about how me know the bride, and say something nice about her. Of course, we didn't keep it all nice haha. We mentioned times we had had issues and how we settled it (which mostly involved the bride taking the lead to ensure that the issues were settled, she is so nice). It was all in good fun though. After that, the groomsmen came in and introduced themselves and we met our partners for the first time. We later all (bridesmaids and groomsmen) went to the vip room to play games and it was so fun. We slept long after midnight which was when I started writing this post lol. It's the wedding night now. The wedding morning, we woke up early to take our baths as the makeup artists gave us a near-natural facebeat and we looked nice. The wedding was more than we hoped for. The hall decorations were beautiful, the ambience was first class. It was strictly by invitation so people had to show their invites to the bouncers before entering. A very popular gospel artist who my friend, the bride, manages was also there. There was lots and lots of dancing, fireworks, food and fun. **After Party** The wedding ended before 8pm and the parents and children went home while the rest of us were conveyed to the venue of the after party which was not too far from where the reception was held. There, we first sat around a long table and played exciting games, had dinner and caught up with everyone. Then, there was music and dancing. At way past midnight, we all were exhausted and went to where we spent the night. I took my bath, updated my parents for the night and started writing this article. Oh, some of our school mates were present and it was so nice seeing them again I am exhausted and so sleepy. I've been taking lots of water to stay hydrated. I think my voice is now a bit coarse from shouting all day. Thanks for reading!

Questions prompt Date: Friday. 29th of April, 2022. The next few days will be very busy for me and I almost didn't write my article for today but I decided not to break my streak. I came across an article by @Kleah97 where she answered some questions and just like yesterday, I'll be answering them. You can check out her article here to see the interesting answers she gave. https://read.cash/@Kleah97/everyday-is-hope-queries-6535b35b If You Had Three Wishes, What Would You Wish For? I probably can't make a reasonable decision on the spot but off the top of my head, I'll wish for the earth to be healed such that we'll no longer have global warming, the trees will be saved, the animals will no longer be endangered etc. I'll wish for more unconditional love amongst people as that will solve a lot of world problems including the financial ones and finally I'll wish for happiness upon me and my family as with that, we have access to the things makes us happy What’s The Funniest Way You’ve Ever Broken The Law? Hmm, it is hard to be in my country without breaking the law. Sometimes, the law breaking in being enforced by the people who are supposed to enforce the law, like when they ask for bribe and you just have to give them. Other ways I've broken the law is by purchasing alcohol as a child, it was usually meant for our guests. Helping someone in the exam hall. Crossing the road instead of using an overhead bridge, this is normal behaviour here and no one will arrest you. There are more though but in all of these, I can't remember one that is funny or the funniest. If You Could Interview A Famous Person, Who Would You Choose? Hmm. Again, I'm unsure who to choose as I'm being put on the spot lol. So many people are coming to mind and it's hard to pick one Would You Rather Be Able To Control Time, Or Be Able To Know What Other People Are Thinking? I think I'll choose to know what other people are thinking with the condition that I can turn it off. There are times when this power could save one from potential harm or danger. If I had the power to control time, it won't be of much use because what has happened has happened and you can control what will happen using your actions. Such power can only fuel my procrastination as I would keep pausing time at the dying minute to get work done lol What Talent Would You Want To Possess If You Could? There are lots of talents I wish to have or improve on which includes singing like someone in Broadway, drawing really good, play basketball etc If You Were To Name Your Own Song, What Would You Name It? Haha, I have no idea. If I must, I could name it ups and downs because that's how life has been for me. I've learnt from the downs and appreciated the ups. What Have You Learned About Life From Kids? Ask for what you think you deserve, you just might get it. Be more honest with the people you care about. Do not hold on to anger for too long. What Do You Hope Your Deceased Relative Would Say About You If They Saw You Now? You are doing OK, don't give up. Is It Difficult To Do What You Do? If I do it, then it is not so difficult for me. My job comes easy to me most times although there are bumps sometimes but I get past them. As a person, it is not difficult being me because it comes naturally and there's no acting, ete service or lip service. That's it, I'll like to see you guys also answer some of these questions!

About me (QnA) Date: Thursday. 28th of April, 2022. Do you know that feeling when you get a sudden burst of energy and your find yourself doing some chores. Well, my body decided that it would be a good idea to wash my clothes at midnight lol. Anyway, today I'll be answering some questions I first saw on @Kushyzee article. You can check it out here. After that, I also saw @Aimure article answering the same questions here. I felt it was a good idea and I decided to write mine too. So here goes: https://read.cash/@Kushyzee/cutest-dog-breed-its-a-random-article-84cdc575 https://read.cash/@Aimure/mental-planner-abb960e9 Do you make up a list or do you make it up on the go for daily tasks? I mostly make a list but it is usually not intentional. There are times when I actually write down stuff so I don't forget to do them. Other times and most times, I make a metal note of my daily tasks. What's your favorite thing that is homemade? I think ant kind of food especially local dishes are just really good at home, probably because they were made with love lol. But really, food tastes really great at home even if I'm the one cooking haha. Would you say you have good Karma? I have come to realise that my mindset usually affect how things work for me. When I was always pessimistic about stuff, I got negative results. Now, I'm more optimistic and things are looking good. So maybe, I have good karma. What city you can see yourself living in? Any city where things work. Things like good governance, infrastructure, law and order, nature preservation etc. Also, any place that offers luxury lol. What was your childhood dream job? I sincerely don't think I had one. I didn't really had something I looked forward to doing. Mainly because I didn't know what most jobs were about. I know a lot of my friends said they'd want to become doctors but that was mainly because they were taught to say that. What is your spouse's ideal height range? Taller than me haha. I think something from 5 inches taller than me she above. What is the best thing to say to break up? The truth. I think it is unfair to lie or ghost the person. Just say how you truly feel. First celebrity crush you remember? I don't know the first because I had a lot as a child lol. What is the cutest dog breed? The cute kind haha. I don't know much about dogs or their breeds but I'll like to have a small, white cute one, a big friendly fluffy one and a giant scary one hehe. So, maybe the cutest to me is the small, white, fluffy ones. I don't know their breed. What is your favourite Greek god? I don't want to be a cliche and just say Zeus because that's who is coming to my head, so I'll just say I don't know. Do you have more girl or guy friends? I can't tell, I think they might be equal. Or maybe I have more girls? I think I'll go with girls. What's your favorite part about your house? Definitely my room! It's usually hard to get me to come out of my room. I could live in my room for days like a vampire haha. What's your favorite chore? Least favorite? Favourite might be cleaning the floors, lewst favourite is washing dishes. What do you need to sleep at night? I don't really have a sleep regimen, tiredness just takes me. But I guess I do need the fan on and light off. What's your thought on pranks? Love them haha. Keep em coming but don't harm anyone or any properties. Thanks for reading! I hope you enjoyed reading these!

Rainy Periods Date: Wednesday. 27th of April, 2022. The month is coming to an end and it has brought with it the rains. It has been raining for most nights here while the day day is usually sunny, providing a sharp contrast to the cold rains at night. Rainy nights are lovely for me because they change the temperature of the room and make everything feel cool which in turn makes me sleep even better. Today, we'll be discussing some of the benefits of the rain: Human life sustenance It is no secret that as humans, we need water to stay alive. With a body that is made up of seventy percent of water, it is important to ensure that one has enough intake of water. Plant Growth Plant needs water and sunshine to grow. During the drought, farmers usually have to source for water using other means like irrigation where they move or direct water from a stream or a water source to the farm. Rain therefore enables the plants to get their necessary water needs and helps them to grow beautifully and healthy Earth's Supply Our sources of water on earth are from natural sources like the seas, oceans river, streams etc. This is where water comes from before it is cleaned and refined into drinkable or even tap water. The rain fills these water sources and enables us get more supply of water for our earthly needs. The water in the ponds and ocean also helps the aquatic animals that live there. Skin Care OK, I know this sounds weird but it does help with skin care. During the hot season, we sweat more often, our body produces more oils and some of us break out in acnes. But when the rain starts, we hardly sweat at usual and our face is usually noticeably smoother. Also, we sweat less and those who suffer body odour have less issues during this period. Heat Relief The hot weather comes with a lot of heat. It makes one very uncomfortable and having to too seek loose clothing to wear. The rain then comes to counter the heat. When it rains, the atmosphere becomes cool and has us reaching for our blanket so we can cover ourselves up and snuggle into bed. Calories Burner It has been said that walking in the rain helps one to burn more fat and calories than it would have done during the hot season. Apparently, engaging in any form of physical activities under rain, according to medical research, helps with the loss of fat and calorie burning. So, when next it rains, feel free to jump, dance or even sing in the rain. Spread your arms apart, lat go and just twirl around and embrace the sense of freedom that comes with that. Rain also has some of its disadvantages such as flooding, erosion etc. But today, we'll talk about the positive aspects of things and how tain helps us. Thank you all for reading!

Micromanagement Date: Tuesday. 26th of April, 2022. Ugh, I'm tired! I feel like I need a massage and a one year paid vacation. Anyway, I hope you had a good day. Today, I want to discuss a story I read online and it involves micromanagement, but I'll first start with explaining what micromanaging means. Micromanagement is a situation where a superior is too controlling and too involved in the work of their subordinates. Now, yo my story... A company, for some reasons were losing workers and those who stayed had to pick up their work and were doing extra jobs than they were supposed to. Not long after, the company was sold and a new boss arrived. The problem with the new boss was that, unlike the previous one, he was a micromanager. He complained about everything even something as little as using "save as" instead of "ctrl s" even though it was explained to him that using ctrl S overrides the previously saved file and both were needed. This man would go out of his way to enforce rules without seeing if they made sense, request changes without trying to find out the reasons things were done in a particular way in the first place. Being a small doctor's office, the nurses had to attend to patients and the boss told them to ask patients if they were happy with their weight so that he can charge them extra for weight counselling and he had them document this so that he knew they were actually asking. Eventually, the nurses started talking. They had a secret meeting where they all decided to apply for new jobs and leave that one and in a few weeks, they all got job offers. One day, one of the most hardworking and important nurses was less than 10 minutes late because her child was sick and she had to go to the hospital. The boss went off and started berating her. He then started complaining about other silly little things like the way she writes. At the end of the day, the nurse tendered her resignation letter but the boss got mad and fired her instead. That incident worried the rest of the nurse, so instead of leaving their 2 weeks notice they decided to start clearing out their belongings during the week and leaving quietly. During this time, the boss was complaining about one of the nurses who got fed up and quit and the boss yelled that they can go after all they still had the other nurse. The second nurse then informed him that she was also leaving. The third nurse also left and the business was shut down and eventually sold at a loss of 1.25 million dollars. The point here is to give allow workers work without trying to have a tight control of everything. Allow them the space to be creative, all ideas doesn't have to come from you, figure out why they are doing some certain things and stop complaining about every little thing. You might be a business owner but it doesn't make you a slave master. Some signs of micromanaging to look out for include: Being too involved in employees work Having all decisions pass through you Requesting frequent updates Giving unrealistic deadlines Being unsatisfied always Being pissed when independent decisions are made and not allowing space for creativity or feedback Having employees do tasks exactly as you want it without them giving an input or ideas These are just some of the many points one should watch out for whether as an employer or employee. Thank you for reading, I hope this helps someone!

Are Tailors = Disappointments? Date: Monday. 25th of April, 2022. My tailor didn't disappoint me! The above is one phrase you will hardly hear anyone say in my country because once a tailor has to make a cloth for you, you are sure to have back and forth arguments about the style of the cloth you requested and the style that was delivered or the timing given for the collection and the reality of the cloth not being ready. A while ago, a wrote an article about my visit to the tailor who had lots of clothes in her shop that was yet to be made. After that, I wrote about how my friend's cloth was utterly ruined by the tailor that sewed it. Well, I was worried about my cloth being ruined or not being ready at the time we had agreed for me to come pick it up which was today. Last Friday, I sent the tailor a reminder and confirmed that I had to pick up the clothes today and she confirmed affirmatively. Over the weekend, I tried hard and after much persuasion I was able to convince my mum to go with me to pick up my cloth. I needed her there for two reasons; one was that I didn't quite remember the way to her shop but my mum knew the place, the second was that I needed another pair of eyes on the cloth to ensure that all looked good and I didn't miss any anomaly. My mum really helped with the first but for the second, she always believes that everything looks good. I could be wearing a sack of potatoes and she would tell me I looked amazing, probably so that I don't feel bad lol. I appreciate it though. The plan was for me to find time to quickly get away from work, go meet my mum at her workplace which was on the way to the tailor's and then head there together. So, before my mum closed for the day she called me to start going there which I did. The plan was simple; get in, get out, and go straight to the tailor but it didn't happen that way. My mum felt it would be a wonderful idea to show me off to all her coworkers, some of who surprisingly knew me by name haha. She took me from office to office and I actually had fun talking to her colleagues. They made jokes, and laughed heartedly, it was heartwarming and I sad glad to see that my mum had a good rapport with the people she worked with. From there, we headed to the tailor's shop and I was right, I didn't know my way when I got to a certain point. When we eventually got to the shop, I was disappointed when I found out the tailor wasn't around. Her apprentice was there and let us in and immediately, I spotted my cloth sewn and ready. I was shocked. I was actually prepared to have a series of arguments with the tailor because I was expecting disappointments but I had nothing to do with the pent up energy, rehearsed speeches and possible scenarios I practiced for when I got disappointed haha. I just sat down and had a bottle of soda while we waited for the tailor who arrived in few minutes. I tested my clothes, made adjustments and tested it again in front of the gigantic mirror. She did such a good job that I couldn't stop commending her. I loved the cloth so much that I didn't feel like taking it off haha. For the first time, I experienced a tailor who kept to their word and delivered optimum value. I will sing her praises whenever there are talks about tailors. That's how my day went today. My colleague covered for me during my absence and I'm grateful for that too. Thank you all for reading!

Conflict Resolution Date: Sunday. 24th of April, 2022. Hey! How are you doing? Today was a rainy day. The weather started with being cloudy and cold. After a while, the rain came and it lasted for several minutes. Then the drizzles came and lasted for the rest of the hour. The rest of the day was really cold and the surroundings were wet. Today, I'll be talking about conflict resolution. Our lives is strongly centred around conflicts whether we like it or not. We often times find ourselves trying to argue our way out of a situation or to get someone to see our point of view. Doing these has the wrong and right way to go about it and we'll be discussing the right ways. **Proper Communication** One problem that is very reoccurent during a conflict is the problem of lack of adequate communication. This can come in several ways; the parties involved may not be communicating at all, they may not be communicating enough or giving all necessary information, they may not be communicating clearly and end up misleading each other. There is no lie in the statement that says communication is key. Sometimes, conflict is born from a simple misunderstanding which having proper communication can solve. It also helps both parties understand how the other feels and how certain acts may have affected them. **Listening** It is one thing to speak, another to hear and another to actually listen. Communication will be ineffective if the parties are not actively listening to each other. One must avoid hearing to counter argue rather than listening to understand. In conflicts, the main aim should not be to be right but to understand one another and that can be achieved through active listening. **Weighing Options** After both parties have stated their pain points, it is necessary to review each others points, check what options are available in resolving them and pick out the one that works. One should be careful not to be selfish here. It is important to come up with options that work for both parties. **Win-Win** After reviewing the availabile options that can help in resolving the conflict, it is best to pick the one that puts both parties in a winning situation; one where they get something favourable or of the outcome. The solution to be proffered should be one that works for and benefits both parties rather than being one born out of selfishness. There may be a need for both parties to make compromises in order to get a win-win solution. Thank you for reading! I hope this helps

Tips For a Happier Life Date: Saturday. 23rd of April, 2022. I'm happy today. Despite sleeping really late as usual, I was able to sleep in till 12pm! I was wondering why my younger brother was disturbing me and asking me to wake up and do some things for him and also why my mum was asking why I was still asleep. I thought the time was 8am at most. It was when I checked the time that I realised it was 12pm. I had slept around 4.30am the night (or morning rather) before that was why I slept in. I also got to reconnect with a close friend and that was really cool! Today, we'll be talking about happiness. In life, our ultimate goal is mainly to attain peak happiness. Whether we are striving for success, personal or career growth, healthy relationships etc, the end game is usually happiness. We are always in the pursuit of happiness and seeking new ways to attain it. This is why human goals are unending because when we reach a new height, we seek the next best thing. We sometimes don't know when to stop and just want to keep doing more to achieve peak happiness. Happiness can actually be attained through both the simple and the grand things. We can experience little bits of happiness in our daily lives and also experience happiness in a grand scale when something big or long term happens to us. With this, I'll be writing about some of those things that can help us live a happier life. **Eat Right and Exercise** Sometimes, when the issue of exercise, food and eating right is mentioned, people's thoughts go to weight loss or weight gain, but eating good and nourishing food will keep our body good and leave us in the right frame of mind. It is recommended to eat a balanced diet, drink enough water and also exercise often. Your body will have the necessary energy needed and you will be more healthy. **Practice Self-care** A lot of times, we get too obsessed with facing our careers, studies, personal lives etc that we don't find time to take care of ourselves. At times, we even feel guilty for indulging in selfcare because we feel we don't deserve it or is uneccessary but that shouldn't be so. Selfcare is necessary to keep both our mind and body healthy and happy. It helps us to relieve stress and be able to keep up with the demands of the world. **Filter News and Information** We live in a world where negative news makes headlines than the positive makin5it seem like nothing good is happening. The media puts out those news because they drive traffic as people always want to know what is going on in their neighbourhood but exposure to negative news can affect how we see the world whether consciously or subconsciously. It affects our interactions with the world and makes us pessimistic and too expectant of negative things. Instead of enjoying our lives, we live in fear and paranoia. So, it is best to avoid too much negative news and focus on the positive. **Good Company** Just as mentioned above, it is important to distance ourselves from negativity and it is necessary to surround ourselves with positivity. We have to ensure that we have good people around us. People who will cine through when you need them. People who will support you. People who brings out the best in you rather than bring you down. **Therapy** Everyone needs a therapist if you ask me, but of course, I'm not a therapist so I can't say for sure. Life keeps coming at us in different ways and there are times when it seems like things are just going bad and we can't help but be unhappy. Therapy helps us unpack what we are going through and figure out the steps to make things better in order to achieve happiness. Thanks a lot for reading, share your thoughts!

Travel Considerations Date: Friday. 22nd of April, 2022. It's another awesome Friday! Today was OK. I did have a lot to do but my general state of mind was fine. How was yours? Today, I thought about the time I had to travel unprepared and things kinda went south. I struggled with a bunch of things and using that experience, I've curated a list of things to consider when making travel plans. Affordability One Major thing to consider is whether you can afford the trip in the first place. Make a budget, put down the amount you are willing to spend for each situation eg, the amount for food, souvenirs, vehicle tickets, etc. When you plan your budget, ensure that you have an estimate of how much things cost at your destination, whether they are relatively cheaper or expensive than what you have at your current destination. Weather You need to know how the weather is at the time of the year at your desired location. You want to check the weather to know the kind of weather to prepare for, this includes clothes, food, choice of travel activities etc. You do not want to be the person who is wearing a sweater and sweating profusely on s hot weather. You also have to bring the things that you use during specific weather periods eg Sunscreen, sweater, shoes etc Health Health should be considered in a bunch of ways. You have to consider how healthy enough your are to travel so that you don't infect someone if you have something like the flu. Also, you have to consider if you've gotten all the necessary medications and see if you need any vaccination before going to any place. Means of Transportation How are you travelling? By air, sea or land. You have to choose the means of transportation that appeals to you, works best for the situating, you can afford and generally have no problems with. You can't have a road trip if you're travelling by air, rather you travel by land. You can't travel by sea if you usually feel sea sick. Also, you have to consider the cost of the means of transportation. Ie, if you're travelling a short distance, you can travel by road. Also, you can choose to fly economy instead of first class based on your affordability. Duration Here, you have to consider how long you will be staying. This will help you know how much to pack, how much money to budget, research the events that could be going on at the time of your stay, plan your accommodation if you don't already have one. So these are some of the things to consider when you want to travel, I hope this helps. Thank you so much for reading!

The Good Doctor Date: Thursday. 21st of April, 2022 Hello everyone! How is it going? The weather had been cold here, thanks to the rainy season. Yet, the cold hasn't stopped me from leaving the fan on lol. I have been hella busy today and unable to read articles or respond but I'll do that tomorrow. Please, do not be offended. Today, I want to talk about a TV series I've been watching called The Good Doctor. The series focuses on the lives of several doctors especially the residents and has mire focus on one of the doctors Shaun. **Dr. Shaun Murphy**: He is the good doctor. Doctor Shaun Murphy has autism and savant syndrome which has worked for him as a super power rather than a disability. He is a genius doctor and can visualise a patients internal organs in his head while trying to find the best cure or surgical procedure for them. Shaun grew up with a sad who hated him because of his ASD. His younger brother was his only friend who eventually died right in front of Shaun after he fell. Despite all the negatives in his life, he had a father figure in Dr. Glassman and never gave up. Shaun do not like any form of physical contact, is usually brutally honest and do not know how to read social cues, yet he thrives. **Dr. Aaron Glassman**: He is Shaun's father figure and have looked after him since he was little. He inspired Shaun to be a doctor and gave him the books he needed. Dr Glassman is a top surgeon in the hospital and is more experienced than other doctors there. He is always willing to share his wealth of knowledge with Shaun and other doctors who seek his consult. He vouched for Shaun when he first came to the hospital and was almost fired because of his ASD. **Dr. Lim**: She is a talented surgeon who has offered guidance to the residents under her. She is the type of woman who do not sit back and let life happen. She is always willing to fight and make sacrifices for the team even if it jeopardises her job. Dr Lim is a force to be reckoned with in the hospital and when she is not the authority, she has no problem standing up to whoever the authority is when necessary. **Lea**: While she is not a doctor, she knows her way around tech. She started as a car mechanic, building and repairing old or luxury cars. *spoiler alert* She started out as Shaun's neighbour before they progressed into being friends. She is very good at what she does but more than being a mechanic, she is an IT expert. Lea eventually started working at the hospital and even helped them solve a major security issue on their servers when some genius hackers tried to breach their firewall and leak private information. Lea became friends with Shaun and eventually became the only person who he willingly touches. **Dr. Andrews**: A black doctor who always rocks a stylish Kente surgical cap. He is always at the top of his game. There are times where he had differing opinions from others but he does so out of his love for the people and the hospital. He is a strong man and despite his domestic issues, never stop giving his best to the hospital and offering guidance to the residents. I'll stop here. Let me know if you've seen this series! Thank you so much for reading!

Positive Effects of Social Media Date: Wednesday. 20th of April, 2022. Hey guys, I hope you're feeling good. My day was championed by a mix of emotions but it all turned out OK. There have been so many negativity surrounding social media lately. It feels like people don't know what to use it for so they think of the most stupid things and post online. There are so many uses of social media, the actual uses these networks were created for but people have ignored them and rather chosen to focus on fraud, nudity, harassment etc. There is also the issue of early exposure that occurs when a little child is able to access any sites without any parental control. Children are quickly being stripped off their innocence, sense of wonder and childhood because they have seen it all before their young minds can even understands what they are seeing. The month of April is still the Sexual Assault Awareness Month #SAAM and the theme for #SAAM2022 is "building safe online spaces together". To play a part, I wi like to discuss other positive ways one can leverage social media. **Global Connection** It is no secret that one of the major aims of social media was to create easy access and connections to people regardless of the barriers of location. Even the language barrier is being tackled as some of these networks are now offering the feature of translation using Google translate. The social media network serves a global village where everyone can reach out to anyone in just a second. This fosters global communication, tolerance and unity between people of different countries, culture, tribe, race etc. **Business to Customer Interaction** Are you a business owner or do you aspire to be one? Whether small or big? Are you a potential customer looking to find products or services in the comfort of your home? If your answer dashes to any of the above, then you need to be looking at the series of options social media offers. Facebook currently has a marketplace where people can put up products and customers can buy. You can link your Ecommerce website to Instagram. You can choose to also just put up pictures of your products, include the product description as the caption and also the price. If you do that, customers will be able to leave a comment to show interest or send a direct message to foster engagement sales **Education** There are certain types of education one can attain from social media. There's the good and the bad but we'll be focusing on the good. There are so many tutorials existing on social media. People are also willing to share life tips or enlighten people about their careers or skill set. One could learn from intellectual discussions, free training etc. One can also get necessary tools, materials or information needed to advance in their careers, studies or general life on social media. While social media may have been misused by some, it is necessary to note that there are other positive ways to engage online. Thank you so much for reading, I appreciate you!

World Fun Facts Date: Tuesday. 19th of April, 2022. Hey everybody! How is it going? For me, well it is not bad. Let me tell you guys what happened last night. So yesterday, my friend called me up to assist her with some errands after which we visited another friend. When I got home, I was tired and even sleepy at a point but by the time I was done with what I had to do and tried to to sleep, I wasn't sleepy anymore and that was how I stayed awake all through the night. Before I begin, let me flex my awesome sponsors. I am so grateful for these people for having my back and in my bloc. Thank you!! Well, for today I'll be giving some world fun facts. Under the ocean surface, you can find waterfalls. Yep, imagine being submerged in an ocean using a submarine and you find that you're at the edge of the waterfall and are going to fall even deeper into the ocean; that's scary lol. I also heard there are rivers down there. It is a crazy concept to think of another body of water inside an already existing large body of water but it is actually true. There was a second planet called Theia which was referred to as the Earths twin planet. It was about the same size as Mars. It crashed into earth and most of the planet was absorbed by earth but a small part of it didn't and became stuck I'm the orbit which eventually became our moon. Are you thinking what I'm thinking? Well, I don't know but I think I am from planet Theia, or at least my descendants are and I probably have super powers which haven't manifested yet. I'm also probably immortal muhahaha! A bit of lightning is hotter than the surface of the sun. It is about 54 degrees Fahrenheit! Now I can't help but think about the people who have been struck and still survived a lightning strike. That must have been super painful. Although, lightning strikes sometimes leaves beautiful scars that look like vines, I think I'll still rather leave my body the way it is than to get struck by something just for the possibility of cool scars. There is an international committee set up just for clouds I wonder what their meeting agenda looks like. They might be trying to get it to be cloudy with a chance of meatballs, or trying to catch the cloud red handed trying to get pregnant with rain lol. I'll assume they monitor the clouds and are able to predict the rains and possible storms and other weather patterns. The sun is so big that if you try to fill it up with several of our planets, you would have about one million Earths fit inside the sun. Also, if you try to compress the Earths before filling, you could fit in up to one million, three hundred thousand Earths in the sun. OK, that's big! The sun is mighty big. If the sun should crash onto the Earth, we'll all be gone in seconds. The sun is mighty hot and extremely big, it's insane. In several million years to come though, the sun will be able to incinerate the Earth when it becomes the red sun. If lightning strikes a tree, that tree can explode. This is because trees contains liquid in them and when it is struck by lightning, the liquid inside of the tree immediately turns to gas and begins to expand till it explodes If you ask me, I think that's a cool trick by mother nature. I will definitely want to watch as that would happen... From a safe distance of course lol. I wrote this and slept off before posting lol. Which is why it is coming later than my date above. I'll still post it anyway. Thank you so much for reading, you're wonderful!

Productivity Tips Date: Monday. 18th of April, 2022. Todau was stressful, I must say. I am exhausted and I definitely deserve a massage at this point lol. I planned to spend the day indoors, read a lot of articles on read.cash and brush up on some work against tomorrow but it didn't work out that way as I had to help my friends out with some things. I underestimated how exhausted I was until I got home. My body hurts and I know I need to sleep well and rest. Apart from all that, I had a very productive day as I was able to accomplish the things I set out to do and it inspired me to write about some tips on productivity. **Prioritise** To be more productive, it is essential to Prioritise your tasks. A lot of time is usually spent on the unnecessary tasks that either only slows someone down or does not give out a meaningful result. This may include something time-consuming like responding to a bunch of emails rather than doing actual work or trying to get your study area to look nice rather than studying. It is better to do the things that actually yields result so that with each time spent, you're getting a positive outcome and increase your chances of finishing earlier. So, make a list of the tasks you have to do and apply the 80-20 rule where you dedicate 80 percent of your time for the important tasks and then 20 percent for other time consuming, non essential tasks **Task System** Creating a system for common tasks can be a game changer. There are tasks one may have to do that may be similar or even repitive. With tasks like that, it is best to group them according to their similarities and do them group by group. That way, your brain processes the tasks and informations better and you can complete one type of work before moving on the next rather than having a back and forth. **Do not Multitask** It may seem very tempting to do this as there is the belief that you may be more efficient when you do several things at once but that is not really the case as multi-tasking have been said to actually make one even less efficient. Just as mentioned in the point above, the brain processes similar tasks better and struggles to go back and forth between unrelated tasks. When one is multitasking, they are usually going back and forth between unrelated tasks and are not focused on any, thereby increasing the chances of making mistakes and making one spend even more time in the tasks. **Hardest Comes First** Sometimes, we may want to do several small tasks so that it will seem like we have done a lot but we are still not as productive if the bigger tasks are left undone. Also, knowing that you still have a hard task to do will make you feel unmotivated and lose morale. So, it is best to start with the biggest or hardest task and get them out of the way before focusing on the easier things. **Take a Break** Don't forget to take short breaks in between. You are only human and not a machine. You need to give yourself a cool down time before you continue. Thank you so much for reading, I appreciate you!

Family Games Date: Saturday. 16th of April, 2022. I can't believe we're only just completing half of the month. April for me seems just as unending as January tends to seem. I assume it might be because I have had, and still have a lot of activities going on in the month. Today was fun, I visited family members I haven't seen in a long time. We ate and laughed together, and we caught up in things that had been going on in our lives. While we were there, I started thinking about possible games we could play and I did some research. From my findings, I will be putting together a list of games families can play. These games increase the bond between families and also serves as a learning process. The games are: **Charades** To play charades, you need to work with your imaginations. The family is divided into teams of two or more and a representative from each teams gets to play. A word is usually written in a paper which someone picks and the representatives of the teams get to act out the word without saying anything so that the rest of their teammates will try to guess accurately what the word was. For example, a name of a movie can be written in a folder paper and get picked. If the movie name is spiderman, the team reps can gesticulate so that the others can guess correctly. This can be done by moving ones wrist in a web spinning moving and attempting to climb the walls. **Drop a Hint** This game requires 2 teams of at least four people to play in each team. In this game, one team plays at a time while the other follows after. Each team is to choose a representative who will be the guesser. The team will pick one from a bunch of cards or paper which will have different random words written on it. The team members will then take turns to drop one word hints for the guesser. They can only give one word at a time. After the first person drops a hint, the second follows and then the third. This order continues till it is guessed right. For example, if the word on the card says lobster, the first person to drop a hint can say aquatic, the second can say claws and the third can say crustacean while the guesser tries to guess the correct word. The guesser has only one chance to guess the right word while the team has only only 2 minutes to keep dropping hints. If the guesser guessed the wrong word or the 2 minutes expire, the second team then takes over. **Two Truths and a Lie** This is a fun and common game that helps people know each other better. The instruction for this game is simple, someone gives three sentences two of which are true while one is a lie. The rest of the players are to then guess what the lie is. This game is fun especially when people have done some ridiculous things you wouldn't expect to be true. **Would you rather** This is another common game where players are given instances or scenarios and are asked what they would rather do. It usually involves crazy and sometimes unrealistic scenarios and one can learn more about their family members from the answers they give. For example, would you rather fight with a lion or jump from a high fence? **Mother Tongue** This is a game played with my family whenever we get together. This game is for those who are bilingual. Here, someone mentions an English word (usually difficult words that may not have literal translations) and asks for the closest translation in our native language. Or someone mentions a native word (usually old and rarely used word) and asks for the English translation. It is a fun way to bond and learn more about one's culture and ancient words that are going out of use. What other games do you know??

Hydration Tips Date: Friday. 15th of April, 2022. Hey, beautiful people! How are you doing? My day today was hella stressful. I went to the market with my friend, the one whose cloth was botched by a tailor, to get new fabrics. We got lost for an hour trying to locate a particular place but we found it in the end. While going home, I encountered a terrible traffic that had us stuck in one place for almost an hour. Funny thing is that despite being stressed and extremely tired, I still had fun and I'm glad I went to the market today. The down part will be the part where I got so carried away that I forgot to eat or drink water. This brings me to my topic of the day. Today I want to talk about hydration and dehydration. Our body is largely made up of water and is dependent on water to survive. Dehydration sets in when our body does not get enough water that it needs. It has been said that the moment you start feeling thirsty, you are already getting dehydrated. So what are the signs to watch out for concerning dehydration? Dehydration can lead to the following symptoms: thirst, dry lips, Amber coloured pee, light-headedness, fatigue, loss of appetite, kidney stones etc. Our body needs water to function effectively, like oil to our engine. It is even more important to drink water if you find yourself in a warm climate, if you have been physically active, if you have diarrhoea (the spelling of diarrhoea is so unnecessarily complicated lol), also, if you have been having a fever or throwing up. With that, here are some tips to help you stay hydrated: **Carry a Bottle** Carry a bottle of water with you all the time. This makes the water accessible and within your reach when necessary. Having water with you will also compel you to always take a sip every now and then which could enhance your water drinking habits. **In the Morning** Drink a glass of water first thing in the morning when you wake up. If you're used to first brewing coffee or even eating, it is better to drink water first instead as you start the day. **Flavour** I believe you can attest to the fact that while water is tasteless, it makes it not enjoyable to drink unless you're thirsty. People won't just drink water for the fun of it and usually wait till they are thirsty before drinking. The solution to this is to naturally add flavour to the water. The most common way of doing this is by adding lemon slices into the cup of water. The flavour makes the water less bland and make you more likely to want more. **Other Sources** Drinking water makes up for 80 percent of the water we take into our bodies, while the rest comes from what he eat. It is good to eat water based food such as fruits (pineapple, watermelon, cucumber etc), vegetable juices etc. You also have to reduce the intake of alcohol, coffee and sugary drinks. **Reinforcements** If you are the type to always forget to drink water until you start feeling thirsty or you need a bit of a push or some motivation, there are apps that can help. These apps set timers to remind you to drink water. You can also measure your water intake to measure how much you have had for day and how much more you should take. There are also water bottles that marks the quantity of water in the bottle to let you know how much you've drank. Some bottles even have a time frames written on it which is the time you're expected to finish a certain quantity of water and some bottles also come with motivational speeches written on them to keep you going. So guy, endeavour to drink water. Be conscious of your hydration level and safe! Thank you so much for reading!

What she ordered Date: Thursday. 14th of April, 2022. Hey everybody! How are you doing? Tomorrow is the start of the short holiday and I'm excited to sleep in although my boss says we might have a meeting tomorrow morning, one I'm not looking forward to. This evening, I decided to go to a secluded part of the to just be alone and rest as I usually do. I was there when I received a WhatsApp message from a friend. It was actually an image. It was the picture of a cloth she had given to a tailor to sew. As I looked at the cloth, I was shocked. It was a typical case of "What I ordered vs what I got" Remember my previous article titled "To the Tailor"? There, I talked about my visit to the tailor's shop. I mentioned how I had to find a good tailor to sew a style chosen by my friend (the bride). I journeyed through what felt like seven seas and seven mountains to get to her. It wasn't easy and it wasn't cheap. Giving a cloth to a tailor near a festive period or celebration makes things more expensive. As Easter is coming up, there are people who will want to sew new clothes for the occasion. My friend is attending the same wedding I'm preparing for and is part of the people to sew the same style I sewed. She was surprised when her tailor told her she was already done sewing the cloth. My friend was both surprised and excited but the excitement was shut off when she saw the cloth and her surprise turned to shock. She sent the picture of the cloth to me and I was confused because everything about the cloth was wrong, terribly wrong. I called her immediately to confirm that that was indeed her cloth and she said yes. I looked at the cloth and then at the actual design the tailor was supposed to make and it wasn't similar at all. What's worse was that the tailor assured her that the dress would come out beautifully and that she had nothing to worry about. She then reached out to the tailor to tell her that the dress wasn't right but the tailor said the dress was exactly as it was in the design which wasn't true as I couldn't even recognise what the tailor had sewn as the initial design. It looked nothing like it. Things were sewn in the wrong place, simple designs were ommited. Everything about it was just wrong. My friend has been devastated and I don't know how to help her. The wedding is in two weeks. She has to go to the market and get the fabric which will be more costly at this easter period, and then get another tailor to see, all of which will be costing her quite some money. I do feel bad for the situation she's in and now, I'm also a little paranoid about my tailor lol. I've seen her previous work and they are good but I can't help but be paranoid. I hope it turns out right. It is not cool when tailors promise to deliver on styles they know they're not skilled enough to pull off just to receive payment for the botched services. It is really not fair and it more honourable to admit that the style might be too complicated to pull off. I do hope my friend gets some kind of settlement or at least a refund Thanks for reading and thank you @Talecharm for renewing your sponsorship. Thank you!

Gifting Date:Wednesday. 13th of April, 2022. Hey guys, how is it going? I must say I've been hella busy. Friday and Monday are public holidays, so we're working extra hard to finish what we have to do by Thursday. It has not been easy but I believe it will be worth it when I'm relaxing during the holidays. Also, my colleague at work will be celebrating a birthday soon and as I was thinking of gifts, I decided to write about gifting today. First off, what is gifting about? This is a process of making or buying something nice for someone else or making a nice gesture in return for nothing. The aim is to make the person happy. There are several reasons why someone might want to give a gift to another person such as: **Birthdays** Birthdays are one of the most common reasons for getting someone a gift. The situation calls for celebrating the person as they turn a new age. Birthdays are a stage of personal growth or advancement that allows one to celebrate themselves and be thankful for how far they have come. **Holidays** Holidays, especially religious holidays such as Christmas, kwanzaa etc. These holidays usually hold a level of significance for the gift giver and recipient as someday **Personal or Professional Advancements** These include the celebration of getting a new job, a promotion, reaching a workout goal etc. Getting ahead in life is definitely something that should be celebrated and it warrants giving a gift that says congratulations or shows you are happy for them **New Life Stage** This includes celebrating marriage, motherhood, mourning a loss, moving to a new place, divorce etc. Change is very constant in life, whether good or bad. While we may give congratulatory gifts, there are times when we may have to give a grief of condolence gift such as a card or gift basket. **Formal Event** A formal event may require or prompt one to get a gift. This includes situations like weddings, baptisms etc. The gift should be something appropriate to the situation. **No Event** Other times, we don't need a special occasion to get someone a gift. You can simply do something nice for them to remind them that you care and you have them in mind. Gifts like these are usually much appreciated as the recipient may not be expecting it. Things to consider when giving gifts include: What your relationship with the recipient is. This is to ensure that you get them a gift that is appropriate. If it is a close friend or family member, it might be OK to gift them a massage session but it might be weird to gift that to a new coworker. Some gifts may be considered too much or inappropriate, depending on one's relationship with the recipient What they may need. Think about things they may have mentioned they needed, something they may have complained about that needs fixing. Also consider what is going on in their lives. If they just got a new job, you might want to get them something that will help like a suitcase, work shoes etc. What they have done for you before. You can consider getting a gift in a way that reciprocates a kind gesture they have done. This will affect how much you may budget on the gift you are getting. Thank you very much for reading!

Travel choices (prompt) Date: Tuesday. 12th of April, 2022. Hey guys, how are you feeling today? At the moment, I'm very exhausted and I feel so sleepy but I'm determined to write. I planned to go through a lot of articles but I only managed to reply comments. I hope to do better, I'm really curious to read other articles especially the ones written by my friends here. Because I do not have the time to think of what to write, I decided to work with a prompt. So today, I'll be playing This or that: Travel edition. Feel free to play too if you want to. **Adventure or Relaxation** It is wonderful to have nice moments of relaxation where you have time for yourself to do whatever you want, cater to your personal needs and be generally pampered. This is good and essential for both our mental and physical health. However, my heart seeks an adventure. I want to be out in the woods, doing things that may seem dangerous and enjoying the thrill of surviving every close shave with danger. It is fun, exciting, keeps the mind sharp and the heart going. **Heat or Cold** If you had asked me this question in the past few years, I would have chosen heat because I was always cold and prone to feeling cold at the slightest provocation, but now, I can feel the heat the same way others feel it and it sucks and is also an uncomfortable feeling. So, I'll pick cold for this one. **Hotel or Apartment** For this, I think I'll chose a hotel. It's nice to relax while tge staff takes care of things so that you don't have to worry about them. Like bringing food to your doorstep etc. An apartment is nice too but you have to take care of some things yourself rather than make a call from your room to have it done. **Sea View or Forest View** Living in a country that is blessed with greenery and thriving agriculture, I have seen a fair share of forests or what may pass as one, so I am not too excited to have a forest view. To be sincere, my imagination would probably be running wild and thinking up crazy ways the forest could be unsafe and harm me lol. For this, I will therefore choose sea view. Sea views are usually beautiful. It is nice to see a large body of water just moving around with no one stirring it. It is a marvel of mother nature and can serve as a source of inspiration when in a creative block. **African Trip or European Trip** Despite being from Africa, I still want to go on an African trip. I want to explore the many blessings nature has blessed us with both in my country and other sister countries. I also do not want my trip to be focused on just Africa as I want to explore other continents, discover their culture, way of life, food, weather, government etc. In conclusion, I'll say I want both lol. I know I shouldn't be greedy but it's hard to pick just one. **Paragliding or Swimming** Paragliding seems like so much fun and the adventurous part of me is excited about it but it's not excited enough for me to choose it over swimming haha. I think I would even consider skydiving before paragliding and I'm not sure why. Maybe, it feels to me like the risk involved is way more and my fear exceeds my possibility of thrill in this situation. **Train or Aeroplane** Trains are really fun to ride in and does not come with the probability of crashing from several feet up in the sky but I'll still choose planes because I do feel sick whenever I travel by road for long. I think I'll stop here and catch my sleep. I hope you guys also attempt the prompt, I'll like to read your answers. Take care!

Exam Fever Date: Monday. 12th of April, 2022. Happy New week guys! How did your day go? Mine went well. Nothing interesting happened though but nothing bad happened either. Today, I was at loss for what to write that I came online, tried writing and just went off. After much thoughts, I decided to write about this; examinations. I believe everyone here or almost everyone have once had to prepare for and write an exam. When I was in secondary school, there was something we called "exam fever". Exam fever refers to the feeling of sickness, fever, anxiety or panic that comes when one is about to write an exam especially an exam they are not well prepared for. A seemingly healthy student can develop a very high temperature and body weakness just as they approach the exam hall. A classmate of mine even threw up once during an exam and felt much better when the exam was over. This is a real phenomenon that can be dealt with by making proper preparations for the exams. Of course, there are other reasons why one needs to prepare for an exam. Apart from fighting exam fever, one actually needs to get good grades and pass the exams. The way to go about this is listed below: **Make your study space your own** It can be really discouraging or distracting to try to read in a space that is uncomfortable. No matter how hard you try to concentrate, you might find yourself constantly bothered by little elements of discomfort. It could be a flickering light, a repeated thud, a short table or chair. All these, however small may lead you to become distracted and unable to study efficiently **Practice on past exams** I remember writing my one of the exams I had to take to get into the university. I had to buy a book filled with past questions from several years ago till the immediate past year. I bought the ones for the subjects I was to take and I studied them. This helped a lot in determining the difficulty level of the questions, what to expect, how the questions are asked etc. If you're lucky, you may even get a repeated question from the past questions in your exam. So, if you can get your hands on old exam questions, it will be great to help yourselves prepare for an upcoming examination. **Teach it to others** This absolutely works for me. I found that in teaching and explaining it to someone else, I'm also figuring it out and unravelling the complexities. When I explain a topic to someone else, I tend to understand the topic even better and it usually feels like I'm entering a higher stage of enlightenment during the process. It's interesting to watch your mind unravel and figure out things on the go. The person you are explaining to can also offer some questions or insights that would help you both gain clarity on the topic. **Take regular breaks** It is highly important to take breaks in between study sessions. Don't push yourself beyond what your body can take. It is nice to take quick breaks to refresh your body before continuing by taking short breaks. These breaks should involve things that do not relate to studying. You could rest, take a short nap, walk around the premises etc. **Enjoy snacks** Studying can take a lot of energy from the body and it is good to replenish that energy. Snacks does not include heavy meals that may only end up making you tired. You can enjoy snacks and drinks **Plan for the Dday** For the main day of the exam, ensure that all the necessary tools you need are available. You do not want to be left in a state of panic or being unpreparedin the day of tbe exam. Ensure that your writing materials and maybe spares are intact, and also any other necessary requirements. Wear comfortable clothes, eat well before the exams and take deep breaths to keep you calm. Thanks for reading! How do you prepare for your exams? Thank you so much @Kushyzee for renewing your sponsorship, I truly appreciate you!!

To the Tailor Date: Sunday. 10th of April, 2022. Happy Sunday everyone! Today was a rest day for me as I didn't get much rest yesterday. I was even able to take a nap (meaning, I actually slept off while using my phone lol). It was refreshing because I barely get the opportunity to take naps during the day. The weekends in April have been busy for me and will continue to be busy. Last week, I went to the biggest market in this state with my friend and we spent several hours trying to get some things (we got lost too at a point haha). Since I don't have much to discuss today, I narrate how I spent my day yesterday. If you remember, I once mentioned my friend is getting married. She had a style she wanted us all to wear, so we had to get tailors to sew the particular style. I didn't know any tailor so I had to call reinforcements; my sister. She lives in another part of the state and it would take her two hours to get here. We decided to meet at a common ground so she could take me to the tailor. The previous night, we planned on the time to meet up. Since she was farther from our meeting point, she had to leave her place earlier. The plan was that she was going to call me when she got to a certain location to head out so that if I left at that time, we would get to meeting point at the same time. On Saturday morning, the weather was cool and my bed was not willing to let me go. Not long after, it started raining and my sister texted me her concerns about the rain disrupting our movement but I assured her it would stop. Meanwhile, I was still so sleepy and unwilling to get out of bed haha. By convincing her to still continue with our plans, I was also convincing myself. Eventually, I got up to prepare breakfast for everyone and after eating, I went back to cover myself up with a blanket on the bed. I was on my phone trying to get some things in order when I fell asleep. It was a message from my sister telling me she was on the way that woke me up. I took my bath and dressed up before going back to cuddle with my pillow (don't blame me, the weather was cold haha). I started to sleep off when her call came in, telling me to be on my way. So, I stood up and set out to leave. Normally, we should get to the location at the same time but I soon as I entered the street, I knew there was trouble because I couldn't find any commercial vehicle to take me to the main road and thus began my unwanted exercise for the morning. I started walking the distance hoping that I would at least find a commercial motorbike to take me. After a while, I got one but my sister had already gotten to our meeting point. I really felt bad because I hate waiting and she had to wait for me. Luckily, the rest of the journey went smoothly and I met up with her. We met with the tailor whose shop was almost hidden in a street. It was like a diamond in the rough. When we went in, we greeted her and I noticed that she had a lot of customers and pending work. I guess when you're good at what you do, people will find you. I was glad to find a good tailor. The problem is that the price for getting a good tailor is almost killing. Thank you all for reading, share your comments and subscribe! Thank you @FashTioluwa for renewing your sponsorship, you're awesome!

Rain Prep Date: Saturday. 09th of April, 2022. Good day y'all, how is it going? or how did it go? Over here, it has been raining every morning for the past few days. I guess the rainy season is here already, and I appreciate how cooler the weather has been. What's funny is that I actually do not like the rainy season so much because it wets the road all wet and leave puddles in some places. Sometimes, commercial drivers drive through those puddles and splash water on passersby. I also do not like my shoes or slippers getting wet. Apart from the rain, we didn't had electricity for two days as the national grid collapsed. That is why I was unable to interact here and why I am posting later than usual. Tomorrow, I will definitely ensure I go through your articles and leave my comments. Now that the rainy season is here, I wanted to write something that related to the current weather and I decided to do some research. From that, I was able to put together some tips on the things to do while preparing for the rainy season. **Roof Inspection** When it's time for the rain to come, one vital thing to do is to check the roof for any sign of leakage so that when there is a heavy downpour, it doesn't leak into the house. While checking for leakages in the roof, also check for any sign of dampness on the walls that could show that water is getting into the house probably from the floor, and also ensure that there are no open wires that could lead to electrocution when it gets in contact with water. **Gutter Cleaning** It is very necessary to ensure that the gutters or drainages are clean and free from dirt so as to allow easy passage of water when it rains. You so not want to be caught with a clogged gutter during the rainy season as this could lead to the water getting blocked, eventually overflowing into the streets and causing a lot of problems. Ensure that the passage is clear and that it is clean of any form of dirt or debris. **Weather Forecast Check** One thing that will always help you plan ahead and save you a lot of stress and discomfort is to check the daily weather forecast. It may not be exactly accurate to the T but it gets close and it doesn't hurt to be prepared for a highly probable outcome. This is one tip that a lot of people tend to ignore but will actually go a long way to help one plan their day accordingly. **Outfit Check** You so not want to be caught under the rain with a sleeveless shirt, suede shoes etc. Dressing for the weather is one major way to ensure that you stay as comfortable as you can manage given the situation. You can put in clothes like sweaters to shield you from the cold, leather trousers to repel the rain from making contact with your body, rain boots for ease of movement during the rain while protecting your feet from touching the water. **Equip with Umbrella** Checking the weather forecast for the day comes in handy as it helps you dress appropriately for the weather and also go about with the necessary tools needed to shield you if you ever find yourself under the rain. One of those necessary accessories include an umbrella. One can also make use of a hooded raincoat if necessary. **Medical Equipment** It is important to prepare for the possibility of any ailments that commonly arises during the rainy season. A lot of people are prone to cold, the flu, pneumonia and other ailments that are thrive during the cold. Some of the needed equipments include drugs, vitamin C, menthol, fruits and vegetables, hot water, thermometer, blankets etc. Mosquitos Repelling If you live in a country like mine where mosquitoes are prevalent, you need to protect your home from them. Mosquitoes thrive in areas with water especially stagnant water. It is necessary to make use of mosquito nets or use some mosquito repeatedly to keep them away. Mosquito bites can lead to malaria and prevention is better than cure. Thank you so much for reading! Share your thoughts with me in the comments and don't forget to subscribe!

How Today went Date: Friday. 8th of April, 2022. TGIF!! I'm screaming like I have TGIF plans haha. Today, I'm hoping to have a good night's rest and wake up late tomorrow (that is, if my body doesn't wake me up early out of habit). Before dawn today, I noticed how the temperature dropped and everywhere became windy. I wasn't mad about it until electrify was disconnected. Over here, when there is rain, there will be no electricity. I don't know why this is the case, but it happens. My major comfort was that the weather was cool, my devices were fully charged and I was to work from the office today. The challenge I had about an hour later was getting up after my alarm went off. The weather was just right and was willing me to sleep on. I kept snoozing till I exhausted my snooze limits, then I set another alarm on my phone haha. I finally woke up to the last alarm I set. You'd think things would get easier after waking up, right? Well, it didn't because I only managed to sit up on the bed without moving for minutes as I mentally willed myself to go and take my bath. It was a tough battle as the spirit was willing but the body was weak but the fear of being broker than I already am prevailed and I got my sleepy self to do the needful. Surprisingly, I got ready in about 30 minutes, a personal record of mine lol. Since I was leaving the house earlier than my parents, I went to wake them up from their beauty sleep. My dad was not happy haha, he was enjoying his sleep way too much, but he couldn't be mad at me because he actually had to start preparing to go out. I left the house and went to find a commercial motorbike that would take me to the main road where I would take a bus. Sadly, it seemed like everyone on the street needed a bike this morning and it also seemed like we had all left out houses at the same time to get a bike. It wasn't easy to find one because people quickly flagged them down and took off. Finally, I saw one from afar and I knew the people ahead of me would get the bike if I didn't act fast so I started waving at the bike man from afar. At first, I thought he didn't see me or would stop to pick up someone closer to him even if he saw me, but he rode straight towards me and I was happy. I had the smug look of triumph on my face as the bike carried me and sped past the people in front of me muhahaha. When I got to the main road, it was already so busy like the people there had been up for hours. There was loud talks, shouts, people rushing from one point to another, people trying to lift heavy loads, sellers calling out to passers by, vehicles honking, bus conductors calling out busstops and touts arguing with bus drivers. It was a big contrast to the quiet serenity I left at home. With all the hustle and bustle, I noticed it was easy to get distracted and probably have my pocket picked. So, I took my bag and wore it on my chest, facing the front so that it was always in my line of sight. As I was heading to the bus that would take me to my location, I noticed people avoiding most of the buses and it turned out they had raised their fares. I asked a woman what was going on and she explained the price hike to me. Another lady came and I told her what was going on and she left. Not long after, I saw her in a bus waving to me. She had found a bus with a fair price, it was really kind of her to save me the last seat. It's funny how situations make people form alliance in an instant. My day went well and my younger brother who was stuck in traffic also finally got home and we're catching up. How did your own day go? Thanks for reading!

Cold Water Heist Date: Thursday. 7th of April, 2022. Hey lovelies! How is it going? Today is Thursday but I'm looking forward to the end of tomorrow haha. By the end of tomorrow, I should be done with something km working on, my little brother will be home for the holiday, the weekend starts and my elder sister will be visiting the next day to help me out with some stuff. Today wasn't as exciting as expecting the end of tomorrow to be though. I was struggling to complete a task and it was like I totally blanked out. Then, about 3 hours before my deadline, I got a call from a dear friend whom I haven't spoken to in a while and we spoke for a long time. After the call, I felt more relaxed and at ease and the creative juices started flowing lol. Sadly, my task wasn't even reviewed because the there was an error with the task preceding mine, so I have to make rework mine based on the correction of errors on the previous task. It svcked but I'm fine. Well, since today is Thursday I'll be doing a throwback #throwbackthursday. If you're confused about what this means, it means recalling or referring to something that happened in the past, it could be a picture, video, memory etc. Today, I'll be recalling a past memory with y'all. **The Water Heist** When I was much younger, in primary school, we had a metal jug which could hold probably about 3 litres of liquid. We usually filled this jug with water and kept it in the fridge. In my country where the weather is mostly always hot, we always appreciated a nice cup of cold water. At the time, my older cousin lived with us. Whenever we wanted cold water, she usually mixed the cold water with room temperature water till it's just right enough. My dad did not like us taking very cold water and we were not allowed to take it unless my cousin mixed it for us. Now that I think about it, it sounds like a ridiculous protocol but my siblings and I were really young at the time, so my dad always took extra measures. One particular night, my siblings and I stayed up and were gisting when everyone thought we were asleep. One of us mentioned they were and we all decided to go on a mission to get the cold water and drink it without mixing it. It sounded like a good plan and we quietly tiptoed our way to the fridge in a single file. All was fine until we got to the fridge and found my cousin laying in the floor there (The fridge with the jug was in the sitting room). She fell asleep while watching TV and had rolled down towards the door of the fridge. Despite the situation, we didn't give up, we decided to slowly open the fridge as far as it could go without touching her and making any noise. The whole ordeal felt like it lasted for one hour. We were passing comments on how to carefully open it in volumes we assumed were whispers and we jumped in triumph when we successfully opened it. After the fridge was open, we had to carry out the jug which was quite heavy for us then and we had to avoid letting water drop as it may touch my cousin who was still lying next to the fridge. We took out the jug and took turns to take big gulps of the cold water instead of using a cup, gulps big enough to hurt our teeth. Of course, we spilled water. We were still glad we successfully pulled off the heist. We replaced the jug and were tiptoeing our way out when a voice reminded us to close the fridge, empty the jug first thing in the morning and wash it since we didn't use a cup. We all froze in silence as it was my cousins voice. Apparently her eyes were open and watching us all the while as we were so caught up in the moment, we didn't notice. The next morning, we washed and refilled the jug and she never said anything. The guilt was killing us and the fact that we expected her to report us to our parents had us on edge, waiting for our punishments. We were quiet all day, probably hoping good behaviour would save us from the impending punishment. Whenever my dad called someone, we would encourage them to be strong while waiting to find out what was going on which was usually nothing serious. The emotional torture was definitely worse than the stealing cold water lol. We definitely never did it again... as a group haha. Thanks for reading! You're awesome!

Street Knowledge Date: Wednesday. 6th of April, 2022. What's up guys! Happy midweek! Today, I woke up to the sounds and cool breeze of the rain and boy, did I need that rain. It was cool because the weather has been crazy hot lately that even the fan is circulating hot air. The down part to this was that the electricity went out. This is annoyingly common; when it starts to rain, the light gets disconnected till who knows when. As someone who is highly dependent on electricity, it svcked and the light didn't come back on to this evening. At least, the weather was cool. So yesterday, I gave some tips that could help one in the kitchen and today, I'll be giving tips that'll help one in the streets. In my country, the average person, no matter the kind of wealth they are born into, as long as they live in the country, have some street smarts. It's a necessary life skill that sometimes comes naturally while others are learnt from experience (yours or others). So today, I'll be listing some of them down with the help of my knowledge and online research. **Trust Your Guts** Sometimes our subconscious gives us informations that we're not able to quickly detect. You might be in some place and for unknown reasons, you may start feeling uncomfortable. There is a chance that nothing bad may happen while you're there but it doesn't mean something bad wasn't brewing. Our senses picks up on little things like someone's demeanour, their response to the environment, darting eyes, sharp movements. These things may happen so fast that you may not give it much thought but our senses have put them together and has us keeping our guards up. It is for this reason that we may sense something bad but not be able to put our finger on it. A girl who was murdered last month sensed something and updated her family with her location and a voicenote where she even laughed and said the respondent should not think she is being silly for getting scared. I only wish the story ended well for her. So, when you find yourself with that gut feeling telling you something is wrong, try to trust it. There's no harm in removing yourself from a potentially dangerous situation. **Not in Public** One thing you shouldn't attempt in public is counting money. You won't count anybody doing this in my country lol. It is not thought anywhere, you just know not to do it. We have so much trust issues that some people still count the money given to them by an ATM machine and they do it by hiding in a corner or using their body as a shield to cover the money from the eyes of others in line at the ATM😂 If you make the mistake of counting or showing off money in public, you've invited thieves and pickpockets to yourself. Some of them might be bold enough to directly confront and rob you while most will sneakily steal it without your knowledge. Another thing you shouldn't do is answer a call with your hand and phone out of the window. Only do this if you're tired of your phone lol. It doesn't even matter the type of phone, as long as it works, it will be stolen and sold immediately! They will take out your sim card and discard it unless your bank details are on it, then they may hack your account and then, they will sell the phone as quickly as you can think of. **Car Doors** If you are a car owner, then this is for you. As soon as you get into your car, it is advisable to lock the doors immediately. I saw a video recently where a two guys jumped out of a car with concealed weapons and ran towards another car they had been tailing when it slowed down. They pulled the door handle to get into the car and harass the owner but it was locked and the owner drove away. The video gave me chills because I couldn't stop thinking about what could have happened if they had been successful. **Don't Look Lost** Whether you are sure you're on the right path or not, just keep moving with purpose till you find someone safe you can ask for directions from and even if you're redirected towards another path, keep moving like you know where you're going. People look out for those who seem vulnerable. If you're looking around like you're lost, trust that someone will immediately approach you and offer to help you but that person might end up picking your pocket or lead you to where their partners will rob you. It is best to walk into a shop or approach a stand with only few people and ask for directions than to let whoever walks up to you know that you don't know your way. Thank you guys for reading! I hope you find these helpful. I'll be glad to hear other street tips I may have missed Thank you so much @BCH_LOVER for renewing your sponsorship, it means a lot to me, thank you!

Food/Kitchen Hacks Date: Tuesday. 5th of April, 2022. Hey guys. Today, I've been more hungry than thirty. Usually, the reverse used to be the case. I thought of going out to get something but I knew I would only be able to get junk which is usually fine by me but not today. Today, my body craved healthy meals. My own body is betraying me and seeking healthy meals. I might as well grab this offer while it lasts because I believe I'll be having noodles tomorrow lol. All these talk about food has given me today's topic. So, I'll be talking about kitchen hacks which are things that will help make things easier in the kitchen. **Stained Food Containers** Personally, I have experiences relating to this. There are times when after storing food in the refrigerator and taking it out, the food container still usually needs a good wash to get all the oil stains out of it. Sometimes, I wash and wash but the transparent plastic plate is usually doesn't let go of the oil. Other times, If you ever find yourself in a situation such as this, what you can do is to take baking soda, misx a bit of water in it to form a paste, rub the paste in the bowl and let it sit for a while before washing it off **Microwave Lemons** Ever needed to extract lemon juice from a lemon but not getting a reasonable amount of juice from the lemon? You can change this by putting the lemon in the microwave, setting it on high and leaving it for about 20 seconds. When taken out, the lemon will be warmer and softer unlike if you had just taken it out of the refrigerator. This makes the lemon easier to squeeze and let's you get out more juice from it. **Bread or Pizza Water Microwave** If you have dried-out left over bread or Pizza, there is a way to revive them. This is done by microwaving them with a mug of water. While they are in there, the water evaporates causing moisture to fill the microwave. This then helps rehydrate the dried-out bread or pizza, making them look better and more edible **Wet Fingers Egg** What I find really frustrating when peeling off eggshells is when tiny bits of the shell gets stuck to the egg. Attempting to carefully remove it could make the egg less smooth and can be annoying. An easy way to do this is to wet your fingers in water before peeling. The water will make the shells stick to your hands and easy to peel. **Retain Drink's Concentration** Doesn't it suck when you try to add ice cubes to your drink only for it to be watered down when the ice melts in the drink? One thing you can do is to take some of the drink or a previous day's remnants and pour in an ice cube tray. This way, when you want to add ice to your drink, instead of ice made from water you'll have ice made from the drink itself and when it melts, your drink won't be watered down Thanks for reading! Share any other tips you know Thank you so much @Lucifer01 for renewing your sponsorship. I'm so grateful! 🙏
