Yow! Whatcha Gonna Do?
Yow, people! Are you people? Put your hands in the air! Say, "hooooo-oh!" Say, "he-eyyyy!"
Hold on. Don't you shake your heads. Don't you roll your eyes! To my Filipino friends in the house of read.cash, you must be very familiar with the above tagline, "Yow! Whacha Gonna Do?"
That's right! Half human, half Zombie. Rastaman in the house yow!
Last Sunday night, I was watching one of the most famous Magazine shows in the local Philippine Television entitled "Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho" or "KMJS" for short. It is also just one of the shows I only watch on TV. In one of their segments, they featured for the second time around the viral old man who referred himself as "Rastaman".
Funny thing is that @Eylz2021 was also watching at that time and so as @Pichi28 and we were chatting about Rastaman on telegram that night.
Anyway.....
Rastaman is a term used to portray a person from the street (Rastafarian in English).
It addresses a political dissident or freedom champion who is battling against the bunches and culture of inequity, social exclusion, expansionism, colonialism and prejudice. So these individuals have uncommon looks like unusual haircuts, just as their skins and bodies, are inked with different and particular plans like weeds and all causing them to look weirdos.
So.....
Who is this Rastaman from the Philippines?
He went viral when he declared himself as Half Human and Half Zombie. He likewise showed his tattoos all over his body, a motorbike sign tattoo close to his brow, and a third eye image on his cheeks which turned out to be entertaining for netizens.
Ronaldo Plaza (his real full name) known as Rastaman Yow, grew up in Davao, Philippines where he studied seaman in his younger years and later on got a job in Saudi Arabia. He has 2 grown-up kids who are now working (one abroad and one as a call center agent) and now living all alone by himself somewhere in Bulacan.
Rastaman became famous when he first filed his candidacy in 2018 for a Senatorial position in the 2019 Philippine Election. He said he would push for same-sex marriage, divorce and reproductive health, but against federalism, death penalty and martial law.
Since he was disqualified to be a politician, he then invested his time in helping his neighbors by fixing their broken appliances. Also, he mentioned that he wanted to run because he respects life and needed to give "Rasta Girl" Jam (daughter of Rastaman's neighbor who died) a decent life and a good future.
Later his humorous interview, he became viral on social media where his answers on the interviews were made as funny memes online. Some even remixed songs from his funny answers.
Last year (2021), he got back to the limelight to gain file his candidacy as a President for 2022 Philippine Election. Tragically, he was tested positive for COVID-19 and was as well considered as an aggravation applicant on his unfortunate attempt. Sigh!
He had as of now been viral in the news all around the world and all over the internet for quite a while due to his objective to get to represent races and to get chosen for the Senate.
Going back to the show, KMJS asked him for his perspective on some controversial social issues. I find them very amusingly entertaining.
and I quote....
Death penalty
"NO"
He indeed emphasized that this is very essential for the less fortunate people.
"Ang spelling ng poor, mahirap, M-A-H-I-R-A-P. Ngayon, M-A-H-I-R-I-P," "Ang pinapatay lang mahirap." - Rastaman
Reproductive Health Bill and Same-sex marriage
"YES NA YES"
"They are both happy. This is what the Creator wants. Why you -discriminate it? " - Rastaman
Divorce Law
"YES YES YOW"
"There is always fighting, they do not agree on each other, divorce. There is no such thing as one man, one woman, because of poverty." - Rastaman
Political dynasty
"NO"
"The original is corrupt, and all the blood are corrupt." - Rastaman
Martial Law
"NO"
"No Martial Law. Only Martian law. I will deport yung mga taong namumuno ngayon na alien. This is now war on alien vs zombie. Because the leaders are too malignant. Too malignant to be human. They are not human, they are alien." - Rastaman
Federalism
"NO"
"Federalism is only for rich country. We are poor. There is no need for federalism because you add justices, poor justices, and maybe two presidents, and that’s a bloody waste of money." - Rastaman
He does make sense, right? He significantly more reasonable and appealing compared to those to are self-proclaimed "qualified" candidates. Oh, well! I had to put my two-cents' worth on that. Rock and roll, Rastaman! Yow yow yow!
Commercial Break:
Right at this very moment, a courier just stopped at our house front yard and I got a parcel from @Eylz2021 . Yay! Will check it out and post later on. Good afternoon, my friends and I wish you all a good day.
Leaving you a quote that goes:
Zombies and aliens are invading humanity, Whatcha gonna do?"
