Money Changes People
As much as I don't want to talk about my personal experiences or dramas here on this platform, I just can't. This is the only way I can let out my emotions without intentionally bothering someone. I don't care anymore if I will be judge by others through my articles, what matters the most is that I let out my emotions/ dramas by journaling here and reflecting on them.
Money makes the world move. It motivates us to do more to earn more. It can be destructive. Having money can make us change, about our perception of life and our attitude towards other people. Indeed! I now believe that money is the root of evil. It can turn someone into a monster without them realizing it. Although some people take this as an opportunity to help others.
Why is it that when we have we still have problems like the times that we don't? It is a never-ending cycle of problems for some people that cannot handle it correctly. Money can give way for us to help other people, but if done wrong, it will be a disaster. For instance, helping your sibling pay for his monthly payment in Social Security System (SSS). You help him because of your willingness and love for him. But when he died, you don't want to give the money to his family because you think that they aren't deserving at all. Would you give the money to the grieving family if they themselves didn't bother to take part in the monthly SSS payment?
Let's assess the situation and let me have a storytime. The one who passed away was the sibling of my Grandmother. He has I think six children, four of which do not have a job and still depends on their needs even if they already have a family. For a senior citizen who cannot do much already and still chooses to work just to provide for his family, would you feel sympathy? His other sibling which he helped him pay for his SSS pension loan claimed his money and doesn't want to give it to the family because he thinks that they aren't deserving of it and it was his money that was used to pay for it. Would you be on his side of keeping the family or is it just right that the family should have it?
I can't express how disappointed I am in them because of their feud over money. This is just pure bullsh*t. They can't even respect the dead who was buried a month ago. They kept on quarreling over money.
His good deed of helping his brother is unquestionable. He did it because of his love for him. But it became destructive because he wants to keep it to himself. It is ethical and by law that the first family should have the assets of the deceased. To me, it is just right that he should keep it to himself but, if he wants this to stop, he should just give it to the family. Same with the family, if they know that they are not deserving of it, then why chase over that money that they did not have a fair share on?
My realization for this is that people will chase you if you have something that they are interested in. They will bug you as long as you give up and give them what they want. If only people would come up to their senses and realize that it's not always money, it's about knowing when to step back and knowing when is the right time to take action.

Thank you, @kli4d for sponsoring me and congratulations on your 1 BCH! Ingat ka palagi and stay healthy!
I Am A College Shiftee
A new school year will start in a couple of days and I am already stressed out. Telling you my story about why I shifted will be my way of coping up with this feeling of not having mental stability and to condition my mind to a new school year of learning.
Join me as I take a trip to memory lane.
Let me start by reminiscing the school year 2018-2019 when I was still in senior high school. I can still remember how our class was busy at that time for sending college applications to different universities--- we were all so excited for college!
"Apply lang nang apply! Take all the exams." That was the most common advice that all of us were getting. Some of my classmates applied to universities outside Bicol Region and some of us applied to universities nearby. UP and BU (Bicol University) are the schools that my classmates and friends are aiming to get into. And me? I also have one university that is on my mind and was my chosen university to enroll in--- it's the university where I study Doctor of Veterinary Medicine now. Me being a bandwagon, I also applied to two universities that my classmates were applying to at that time. Wala lang, nakikiuso lang. HAHAHAHA! So, I applied to three universities: BU, CSPC, and CBSUA.
I didn't review at a review center and chose to study at home. I slept for two weeks in our computer room/ spare room just to have a place to study where it is peaceful and quiet. While I was reviewing, thoughts of applying to the different courses were running around my mind. I felt that being a teacher was my calling, choosing Nursing because it's a practical course and it's only a 4-year course, my love for nature and taking up Agricultural Engineering, and my first love, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. I applied to all of the mentioned courses but in different universities. Education and Engineering in BU. Nursing in CSPC. DVM in CBSUA.
Results are out for BU admissions, I passed the exam! The results were released when we were still at school. It was an intense announcement because not all of us have data at that time and we just asked a favor to our classmates to check our results. "Jao, nakapasa ka sa engineering." Those were the words of my classmate and we were applauding our hands to Jao's victory. Siyempre kinakabahan na yung friends ko and I was just chilling. HAHAHAHA. It was my time when my friend told me that she's going to check my results and the moment I found out, I was like "Uhm okay." Everyone around me was laughing because I wasn't that interested.
I never found out about my result in CSPC because they said that my exam results are missing. I didn't bother to ask again because I was not interested in going to that school. The sad part is, I didn't get into my dream course in my dream university. I was mad and disappointed in myself. My score didn't meet the qualifications for med school. And I decided to take a different course which was Bachelor of Science in Agriculture.
**How did I get to Med School?**
I took up Bachelor of Science in Agriculture (BSA) for one sem. This I tell you, it wasn't easy studying a course that you don't really like. The pressure was there because I already planned to shift in the second sem. I need to get high grades for me to be able to shift. I strived hard and succeeded even though the presence of shifting was there because of the expectations of the people around me.
Second sem was the time I finally got into med school. I am finally able to study my dream course. It was fulfilling. I met new friends who welcomed me.
It hasn't been a week of being a vet med student and I felt that I was not enjoying it. I was lonely. I didn't have classmates that I can eat during snack and lunchtime. The only friends that I have in my department were my board mates and my seniors.
There are **advantages and disadvantages of being an irregular student.** I needed to take my back subjects to a different course because the BSA's first sem subjects are the DVM's second sem subjects. It was freaking exhausting. I didn't have someone to talk to and have snacks/lunch with. I wasn't having any updates about scheduled exams because I wasn't part of their class group chats. And the worst part is that I am going to graduate delayed because there will be an additional year for me. The only advantage that I can see is that I can focus more on my med subjects because of my extra time. I always go to the library when I have free time to study before going to my class.
Here's a little **secret of mine.** I lied to my professor for having skin allergies at that time. HAHAHAHAHA. I didn't really have allergies that time, I was just too sleepy because I stayed up all night. HAHAHAHAHA.
Anyway, here are my final thoughts. **Believing in yourself is the best thing you can ever do! Because when you believe in yourself everything becomes easy. Never be afraid to take that leap of faith. Because only you can make things happen for yourself. You can always open a door when a door closes. When opportunity knocks, welcome it. Just like I did!**

Shop Smart: Start saving your money!
***Uy Mare! Akala ko ba mag-iipon ka na? Bakit nag add to cart ka na naman?*** Anyway, I just used that line to get your attention.
Have you ever experienced being financially broke, wondered where your money went and regretted some of your purchases? If yes, I totally understand you. I am writing this article as a guide to being a smart shopper so all of us can start saving our money.
Sometimes we splurged our money too much for being an impulsive shoppers. Should we feel guilty? It depends. Some items are worth it and there are items that are purely just a waste of money.
*Definition: Impulsive buying is* ***the tendency of a customer to buy goods and services without planning in advance****. When a customer takes such buying decisions at the spur of the moment, it is usually triggered by emotions and feelings. ... Marketers try to tap this behavior of customers to boost sales.*
Source: Google https://economictimes.indiatimes.com/definition/impulsive-buying#:~:text=Definition%3A%20Impulsive%20buying%20is%20the,triggered%20by%20emotions%20and%20feelings.&text=Marketers%20try%20to%20tap%20this%20behavior%20of%20customers%20to%20boost%20sales.
When the word **spending** comes into your mind, what are your initial thoughts about it? For me, it's spending money over my wants and needs. Some purchases can help me stabilize my mental health and there are also for mainly aesthetic reasons.
Shopping is also an investment. Don't feel guilty if you spend money on cute stuff that does not actually have a use. Remember this, **Invest in yourself**. If these things can help you keep mentally healthy, then buy it. What matters the most is that you chose yourself.
Let's cut to the chase and start telling you my tips for being a smart shopper.
**Ask yourself questions!**
Is this worth the purchase?
Am I going to wear this in different occasions?
When will I be able to wear this considering the current situation I am in?
Am I going to have a return on investment?
Is this sustainable?
These are the questions that I usually ask myself when I go on a shopping spree or just casually going to the malls and finding items that are on sale. I too can be an impulsive shopper sometimes but due to the course of time, I've improved and learned to spend my money wisely.
**Is this worth the purchase?**
This is the most commonly asked question when shopping. For example, you stumbled upon an item that offers a great deal, would you automatically splurge your money to it? Assess yourself. Do you really need it? Does it serve a relevant use? Just by asking these questions, we are saving every penny that we have. We shouldn't buy items just because it's on sale. Because the tendency is that it is just going to be stored in the storage and not put into use.
**Am I going to wear this on different occasions?**
Purchase versatile clothes because I guarantee you that it saves a lot of money. Versatile means you can use it many different ways or you can create a lot of looks that you can wear on many occasions. Polo would be the perfect example of versatile clothing. You can wear it on a beach trip, events, and even dates with a special someone. You can pair it with almost everything! The only tip here is you just have to learn to mix and match your clothes. This applies to both men and women.
**When will I be able to wear this considering the current situation I am in?**
This hits different especially in the current situation that we are in. Nowadays, we are limited to going outside of our homes and our clothes aren't put into use--- the most commonly used clothes today are the ones we wear at home. The ones that we wear when we stroll outside are just stored in our cabinets for months due to this epidemic. Now, would you consider buying clothes in this time of pandemic when we are limited to go out? Because for me, if it's really necessary to buy then you should. I know most of us here gained fats and some of our clothes do not fit us anymore. We should learn to prioritize our needs over our wants because we could spend our money on other things such as paying for our water bills and stocking food in the pantry.
**Am I going to have a return on investment?**
This has a wide range of the spectrum. From clothes, jewelry, gadgets, real estate, and etcetera. These all have one thing in common--- investment.
Have you heard the line, "Na-R.O.I ko na yan" or "I need to use this because wala pang R.O.I"? Well, this is about the things that we use daily. Just like a laptop, it is common to have this because of online class and work from home. We don't really get some profit from this but, the good thing is, we can use it for our studies, and work. Just the amount of time that we used it, it already served its purpose and we already achieved its return of investment.
Investing is one of the practical ways of making use of our money because we get something from it. Assets can depreciate and increase in their value. We just have to learn when is the time to let go of it or in other words, wait for its peak season where the value can increase.
**Is this sustainable?**
Society has a big impact on us. One of them is the existence of fast fashion. We all have this attitude where we want to buy a piece of clothing because it's a trend and we don't want to get left behind. Shein, Taytay Tiangge, and other e-commerce sites offer a wide variety of cheap trendy clothes. Fast fashion isn't sustainable at all. Most people don't wear their clothes anymore once it's not on the trend and they'll just buy the new trendy ones. What I am trying to say here is that it is best to purchase sustainable clothes because it is beneficial for the environment. I also understand that sustainable clothing is not for everyone because it is expensive and not everyone is privilege enough to afford it.
One sustainable brand is Levi's. Why? Because it uses less water in its products and their clothing can be worn so many times. Compared to cheap clothes, the quality of Levi's' product is superb that it lasts for few years. The main point here is that you can save lots of money if you buy quality products over fast fashion.
Final thoughts...
Saving money should not hinder you for taking care of yourself. For instance, going to Jollibee 3 times a week should not hurt your savings that much. If its beneficial to your mental health, then go for it. You should also invest in yourself. Losing mental stability is much worse than spending a couple of bucks for Jollibee.
Thank you for reading this. And as I always say, keep safe an healthy!

Unwinding In The Wild
Disclaimer: There were few people in the area and, we are 20 feet away from other groups. There will be tons of photos on your way.
I am savoring the remaining days of my summer vacation before the new school year starts.
**08/ 07/ 2021**
Yesterday, I posted on noise.cash that I was with my cousin--- she rode her bike and I jogged. After 3 miles of pacing with each other, we finally decided to take a breather before going home. She showed me a picture of a place and it was actually my friend's IG photo. The place is located here in our town and it is only 3 barangays away from home. She asked me if I can go there with her and I wasn't sure about that time. After lunch, we video-called each other and push through with the plan.
It was a sunny afternoon and we left her house at 1:30 pm. Also, I invited my other cousin to join us. We rode our bikes going there and it took us almost 30 minutes to arrived at the nearby road where the river was located.
We needed to carry our bikes to the other side of the river because we're afraid that the bikes will likely to be stolen. It wasn't an easy river crossing. The rocks were slippery and the bikes were heavy. One wrong move and you'll hit your head in the rocks!
We arrived at the other side of the river and took a rest. My cousins didn't like the first spot where we are in and we decided to cross the river again to get to the other side of the river where the water is deep.
I took a sip of my lemon water and applied sunblock. After that, it's game time bitches! Kidding! We took some photos and swam for a bit. The water is not that cold but it was refreshing.
It was a lovely afternoon with my two cousins. We had a conversation and we had also our time to unwind. Funny thing is that my cousin forgot that he has a google meeting on their association this afternoon and he realized it minutes later while we enjoy the cool breeze and the quiet place.
3;40 pm when we decided to pack up to go home. This is the funny part. While I was carrying the bike, I slipped! Ugh! Thankfully I didn't hit my head on the rocks. We just laughed about my experience. The grease was all over my left thigh and leg. Then again, we took a rest on the road for about 5 minutes. We were exhausted from carrying out the bikes as if we were weightlifters. (Hidylyn Diaz is shaking.)
I arrived home at around 5 pm and took a rest again and I lied down on the floor because I was wet. I was hangry! (hungry + angry). I was so tired at the same time happy because I got to think of new ideas and cleared out my mind.
While I was just sitting on a big rock, there's this thought that amazed me. That the land and water co-exist without having too much damage to each other. The two elements compliments and benefit from each other. The water moisturizes the soil and the soil filtrates the water. I know this isn't always the case like for example, during typhoons, these two elements can be destructive. When the water hits the land too much, it erodes. When the land gets into the water too much, the water gets unclear. To my realization, it means too much can be destructive and can affect us.
Also, I have this question in mind. **If the water and land can co-exist, why can't we humans?** (I already have an answer for this but I deleted it because I am not sure about it.) If you have answers to this question, please interact in the comment section and I will gladly have an open conversation with you. :">

You can always have the time to rest and unwind. To not think of your responsibility for a while. Finding yourself requires time and when you finally did, the journey of the new you will start.
Thank you so much for reading this! I hope you enjoyed it and please don't share my photos on noise.cash. Lol. Anyway, always keep safe and healthy!

Why is it expensive to live?
Hi. I am writing this blog this midnight because there's this one question that keeps on bothering me. **"Why is it expensive to live?"**
I know that one of my goals is to have a good sleeping routine but, I just can't sleep tonight if I'm not going to discuss this with all of you.
Hear me out, the world is changing rapidly and our wants and needs also change. The more we stay on this planet, the more it gets difficult to live.
Considering that I live here in the province where life is more simpler and peaceful, it's still not enough for me. Even if we say that we live a simple life, it's still expensive. Why? We have bills to pay like water bill, electricity bill, transportation, and other maintenance.
Aside from that, this new learning set-up makes it even difficult for us students to survive because not all of us are privileged enough to buy ourselves gadgets and even e-load. It sucks realizing that money plays a major role in our lives. That money will make us feel things. It will make us feel sad about our status in life.
I've mentioned in my previous article about finding our purpose in life. Realizing it now, maybe the purpose of why we work is being able to provide for ourselves. To have the comfortable life that we truly deserve. I know we are still going to experience ups and downs in our lives, but we can achieve it by having good education.
It's not about living a simple life but realizing that money plays a huge part in our lives. This pandemic, we struggled financially. Most of us. Some got retrenched from their work, some suffered from this virus, from studying, and the stress this pandemic brought to us.
I came across this news where a pregnant woman gave birth outside of the hospital. It's because she doesn't have enough money for her to get swabbed. Fvck this protocols. It's a matter of life and death already.
When will we stop worrying about being hospitalized and having problems with our funeral bills? I mean, mamatay na nga lang tas may poproblemahin pa. Are we just going to work for the rest of our lives for all this to be settled? As if we were making a bucket list before we die that we should cross out.
If only politicians are just being honest with their work and not taking the country's budget, then, we will have a better country to live in.
When will we ever live the life where money no longer has a big role in our lives? Where it will no longer be a necessity and living a simple life is all that enough.
Note.
This is an impromptu blog where I spoke about my thoughts on living in this world. On how money makes things easier for us. I hope you'll understand what this blog wants to relay.
Thank you for reading this. Strive hard in life. Always keep your head up and aim for that goal to be achieved.
XOXO

Setting Up New Goals: AuGOALS
A new month means new goals to create and opportunities to unlock and try to achieve at the end of it. We set up goals to keep us going and it serves as a tracker of our growth and progress. This month, I will continue to still do the previous goals that I set up last month and try my best to improve in it.
For August, I will set goals for the things I aspire to be in noise.cash, read.cash, and for myself.
**noise.cash**
Right from the start of my journey in noise.cash, I have been posting about life in general; life advice, realizations, and personal growth. I will be continuing this for this month to give inspirations and realizations to other users.
I will support someone by giving QR tip on their posts---may it be status, photos, and artworks. These users exert so much effort into their craft and it deserves to be recognized and acknowledge the hard work of these lovely individuals.
Creating posts that raise certain causes, most especially the informative ones. noise.cash platform isn't just earning BCH for me but also learning from different users' posts.
I want to create a channel where everyone can relate and feature their works. Though I already have an existing ones. (Ulam of the day and A day in the life)
Lastly, I want to give back to my subscribers by doing a challenge or a giveaway. I owe them a lot. Achieving my goals wouldn't be possible if it weren't for them.
**read.cash**
I recently achieved a milestone where I gained $100 from noise.cash and read.cash. This time I will step up the game by setting up a goal of $200. Maybe this little goal of mine will push me to work harder and achieve it at the end of the month.
Considering the start of a new school year, I will still pursue my goal of publishing articles weekly.
I will try to write stories and share them here and improve my craft in story-telling.
My account will be turning 3 months this August and as a little way of giving back, I will try to sponsor other writers here. I just hope rusty will be generous to me so that I can afford to sponsor you guys.
I really want to join a club wherein I can learn from them and gain some support system.
Article for a cause. I have been blessed by using both noise.cash and read.cash, I want to use my passion to help other people/ organizations by donating the proceeds of some of my chosen articles. I am a firm believer that it's always okay to share but, we should also save for the rainy days.
**Personal Goals**
I want to bring back my old healthy habits of working out, eating healthy, and sleeping early. I'll get that quarantine glow. Lol.
I've always wanted to try to enter the world of "Arts". I actually own a ton of art materials that I never get to use because I can't find a time for it. This time I will try to explore myself and maybe try painting.
Slowly Quitting Alcohol. I woke up today feeling bad about myself because of last night's birthday party and I realized that this habit should stop. There will be exemptions such as special occasions but I would decline to spontaneous invites of drinking out.
Minimize the use of Cellphone. I'll find an activity where I can divert my energy and avoid using my phone all day long.
Save up money. I've discussed with my friend yesterday night that I don't need a lot of money but, I still need to save up for my medications, spendings, and to treat my family.
Buy a tablet that I can use for online class. I can't afford the price of a laptop as of now so, I decided to go with the tablet.
We have different timelines and you or I may achieve my goals earlier than others for this month but, listen, We have the rest of our lives to make things happen for us. To open new doors when one closes. To unlock new achievements for ourselves.
I will look back at this monthly goal at the end of the month for me to track my goals. And always prioritize yourself by not stressing too much about the goals you haven't achieve. Don't let yourself turn into a robot that loses its energy in the long run.
Author's note.
Thank you so much for reading this. I hope you are doing good in life and win over your silent battles. If you need someone to talk to, you can always message me on telegram.
P.S. I actually got inspired by how ZehraSky wrote her goals for this month.
P.P.S. I find the title of this article cringey but thinking of it now, it's full of wit. "AuGOALS" my friend told me Au= Gold which I already know. Our GOALS are Golden. We are Gold. There is something special to us.
XOXO.

Bidding Goodbye to July: A Month Recap
July is fast ending as if he was a cousin of the Flash. Kidding aside, it was a bad start of July for me and this month has been a roller coaster of mixed emotions. As I've mentioned in my article before, July 1 was the funeral service of my Lolo Erning and with that, I've experienced losing myself. I am writing this monthly recap for me to track my progress here on this platform and my achievements.
**Challenging myself and being self-sufficient**
One of my goals in my article Target Locked was to publish an article every week. I am beyond grateful because I am doing well and hitting my goal of publishing an article despite having mental breakdowns in the middle of this month. I lost myself. I wasn't performing well but, I got back on track and made this platform my diary. https://read.cash/@WanderingMedStudent/target-locked-c87de4bc
I published 9 articles as of this moment and this will be the 1oth. I thank you guys for initiating to start a challenge because I really had fun and it is one of the reasons why I became productive here on readcash.
It is July 12, 2021 when I started hodling BCH and challenged myself to achieve my $100 goal before this month ends. I have been successful in achieving it and the money I gained from it was the one I spent for my check-up this afternoon.
Since I have been planning on getting my skin checked up, I allotted my $100 that I hodled for the last two weeks. I am so happy because I didn't get to ask for money from my parents and it is one of my personal goals--to be independent and self-sufficient.
So, I'm thinking that I'll get that $200 goal next month.
Upon checking my notifications this morning, I noticed a notification from read.cash, it says that my articles have surpassed more than 100 views! It is one of my goals for my articles to reach many people. Because I was thinking that my articles will inspire and they will learn from it.
**What I am most proud of this** **month**
I was able to publish an article that aimed to donate the proceeds of it. I mentioned in my article that the sister of my friend was in a comatose state and it is very fulfilling that I was able to extend my help to them by making use of my passion---writing. Thank you so much for the upvotes that the article received. Let us continue praying for her fast recovery.
**I gained sponsors!!!**
I can still remember the time when my only sponsor was @carisdaneym2 . This month I gained extra four subscribers and I always get kilig when I see a sponsorship request on my notifications. Thank you so much for choosing to sponsor me. This keeps me going!
**I gained subscribers!!!**
I only have 18 subscribers when the time I posted my article Target Locked and looking at it now, I gained 21 subscribers. I guess this is the effect of interacting with other writers and publishing articles that you guys can relate to.
**Learning**
As I celebrated my 2-month stay here on readcash, I've learned a little about how the crypto world works--- how the market would dip and eventually boom. I know that my knowledge about crypto is just a speck of dust but staying here will make me understand it more and be knowledgeable.
I learned to find my way of writing. I'm eventually continue to explore and enjoy the way I write my articles. I realized that reading time does not always matter. What matters the most is how I will be able to entertain and make you guys relate to my articles.
**Final thoughts**
Isn't amazing how our goals make us strive harder? It gives us the drive to write articles and have a reward in return. We just have to believe in what we do and all our sacrifices will pay off someday.
I wouldn't achieve these goals if it weren't for all of you guys. For your support, upvotes, comments, and to those who are silently reading my articles. My successes are also your successes. I'll continue to write as long as I can. Thank you all so much!

Sharing A Slice Of My Childhood: When I Was A Kid...
I've tried the Never Have I Ever and Would You Rather challenge and there's this new prompt challenge in which Ate @bmjc98 started. This is called When I Was A Kid Challenge. I find this easy because it's just going to be all about sharing a slice of my childhood. I've read a couple of articles about this already and as I was reading it, I felt like they were part of my childhood. I'm hopping into this trend for you to get to know me more. You can also checkout ate @bmjc98 's article here. Without further ado, let me tell you about my childhood! https://read.cash/@bmjc98/getting-to-know-you-more-challenge-when-i-was-a-kid-2c558068
**When I was a kid, I used to swim in the river.**
I live near the river and my childhood friends would always invite me to join them. It is where I learned how to swim and where I almost drowned. I mean, drowning is part of learning how to swim and the first "swimming technique" that I learned was the doggy paddle technique since it is the easiest. The river back then was so clean that you can see the bottom of it and in general, it is full of life. My grandma would always tell me that it is where my Mom and my relatives learned to swim. My Dad would always bring a stick or a hanger because I always leave the house without telling them or asking permission if I can swim in the river. Well, look at me now. I am a good swimmer. lol. HAHAHAHAHA. (Michael Phelps is quaking!)
**When I was a kid, I used to join my uncle and cousins to go to the mountains and rice fields.**
We have to pass a river to go to the mountains and basically I live near both the river and the mountains. It is a fun experience; we drink buko juice, eat random fruits that we can get along the way, and enjoy the spectacular view from above. And it influenced me to be in love by nature's gift.
My relatives own vast agricultural lands and raise ducks. Every afternoon we would go to the middle of the rice fields and accompany them to their cage before it gets dark.
**When I was a kid, I used to draw and write on the walls.**
I think all of us tried even once in our lives to write/draw on the walls. My siblings and I had a competition back then. Whoever gets to write at the highest peak will win---I wrote on the ceiling. We even practiced drawing envelopes and stars. HAHAHAHA.
**When I was a kid, my Dad wouldn't allow us to attend birthday parties.**
This is beyond normal. Hahahaha. We always get invites and we always refused because of my Dad's petty rules. A kid should be attending parties to socialize but it's different in my case. My dad would always question us when we are planning to attend parties, his line would always be "Bakit kayo aattend eh may pagkain naman tayo dito sa bahay". But it's all good now. We even use his line to him when he is attending parties. Wahahaha reverse card activated. lol.
**When I was a kid, I wanted to become like my Dad.**
My Dad is a graduate of Marine Transportation but he decided not to push through with that career. He ended up being an Administrative Aid and worked in our LGU. He has an all-around job. Setting up the stage. Cleaning in the hallways, Putting up tarpaulins, and many more. My Mom was surprised when I said that I wanted to be like my Dad. She was even laughing and amazed by what I have said. Well, I like cleaning when I was a child. As in a lot. My Mom can still remember what I said until today. Hahahahaha.
**When I was a kid, I tried smoking.**
I am one of those curious kids who want to know what it feels like to smoke. My environment was the reason why I got curious in the first place. There is no one smoking in the family but my relatives do smoke.
I tried smoking the rolled sheet of paper and the actual cigarette stick. The rolled paper cigarette taste so awful and the cigarette stick was Marlboro Chocolates. Hahahaha. We were at the sari-sari store when we tried to smoke that because it was just in stock and no one prefers to buy it.
**When I was a kid, I learned to be independent.**
I'm not the usual kindergarten student who has a parent/ chaperone who waits outside the classroom. I eat alone. I buy my snacks in the canteen all by myself. Good thing is that the canteen staff knows me because they live near my house. But learning to be independent at such a young age is an achievement for me--it prepared me for the real world.
**When I was a kid, I was always the second-best.**
I'm not really my Mom's favorite and until now, I'm still not. I am second in my parents' children and I have middle child syndrome. I wasn't given the attention that I deserve because they were too focused on my other siblings. Well, all of those treatments honed me to becoming an independent person. I learned to trust and love myself more.
**When I was a kid, all I ate was tinapa and rice with sugar.**
My grandmother took care of me when I was just a little kid, I lived with her when my parents were still working in Manila. She introduced me to eating rice with sugar. It was good! She taught me how to live life simply by making use of the things that we have. Tinapa was a favorite and I'll make the coffee as the "sabaw". Ugh! Heaven!!! These were my favorite when I was still a little kid.
**When I was a kid, I didn't know who my parents are.**
As I've mentioned earlier and in my previous article about my Grandma, I didn't know who they are when I was little. They were busy finding jobs for them to be able to provide for us and I was left to my Grandma with my brother. We stayed in Cavite for a couple of years when they were here in Bicol. We got reunited when I was about to start schooling. https://read.cash/@WanderingMedStudent/i-cannot-live-without-my-grandmother-9879160f
Author's Note:
All of us have memorable childhood memories that we are going to remember for the rest of our lives. It has a place in our hearts either it be good or bad. It made us who we are today.

Let's talk about Purpose
Things are created to serve their specific purpose. For example, a chair. It is created for it to be sit-in. In this blog, let us talk about Purpose.
Achieving goals and being successful in life will all be set aside if we don't know what its purpose is and how will it serve us. We do things on purpose. We eat because we want to be full but sometimes it is hard for us to define what really its purpose. Even the things that we do on a daily basis have their purpose.
Yesterday, I had a conversation with my friend when he was driving me home. I told him that my Lola is a nurse abroad. And he said that maybe she's already rich and I told him that my Lola's daughters were also in the states and our topic began.
Let's start by **being a parent.** What does it mean to have a child? As a member of the LGBTQIA+ Community, I often get asked if I wanted to have a child someday. And I always answer if God permits then who am I to refuse. I know some of them worries because they think I will be alone in the future but I wouldn't consider having one if that would be the reason for all of it. When children grow they will unintentionally leave you because of their career and their life. Your kids will not always stay beside you and you will still be left alone. But if I were to have a child, I'll make sure that he/she is going to have a good life. Because for me, Parenting is not just about providing things for your child but, it's about having a connection. It's about teaching/instilling good values and morals to your kids. And that for me is the purpose of being a parent.
**Studying.** Why do we study? To have a better future? Our parents would always tell us when we were kids that we should study hard and finish college. But, what for? I mean, some of the successful people are college dropouts and having a degree is not a basis of being successful in the future. To me, studying is all about absorbing all the information that we can use in our work.
**Working.** This one really hit me hard. My friend told me that we are just working as if we are just preparing for our funeral services. And that led me to ask myself what would be my purpose in the future as an employer/employee. I am still thinking of it well but in my case, the purpose of me for working is to help animals get back on track and to be their voice. Applying my knowledge in my field would be the sole purpose of studying and working.
**Friends.** Ever wondered why you are no longer friends with your elementary/ high school/ college friends? It's because they already served their purpose and they are considered as your seasonal friends. People come and go and Friends will not always stay but they were in our lives for some reason. Maybe their purpose is to console you in your darkest times and even your happiest moments. And most especially teaching you a lesson that will make you a strong person.
**Blogging/Writing.** Why do you write? For most of us, we write to earn money and we think it's the purpose of it. As the money would help us in our daily living. To me, the purpose of writing/blogging is not just about earning money but also to reach people and touch their lives.
We all have different timelines and finding purpose in what we do will not always be easy. We do things on purpose and I hope you'll find the purpose in what you do in life.

The Writer and his Lover
Hello! This is my first time to write and publish a story, I am not a pro at this but I just wanted to try. Also, my read.cash account turned two months today and this is my treat for all of you. I hope you will like this! :")
Addie is a writer, overachiever, and a good son. However, despite these qualities, he lacks something. A space in his heart that cannot be filled by his friends and family. Addie was alone even when the times that he is with his friends. He was lonely.
The COVID-19 pandemic changed his life. Like any other person, he was not able to do the things that he used to. Because of that, there was a lot of energy that keeps him awake. Addie was in the middle of writing an article when writer’s block hit him. He would always go for a walk whenever he experience this. But this time, he cannot. It was nighttime when he thought of using Omegle. It is a platform where you can chat with random strangers all over the world but, there is an option to put tags on it—your preference. ATENEO, DLSU, UST, and UP are the tags that he indicated.
Upon entering, he was surprised to see a man that is jerking off and he immediately press the stop chat button. He was shocked. It was his first time. He tried again, and this time there was this boy who was in such a dark room that his face couldn't be seen. It was Marcus, a guitarist.
Addie: Uhm, hi.
* Marcus didn’t respond.
Addie: Hello, can you hear me?
*Marcus was in pure silence and the only sound that Addie can hear was the sound that was the electric fan was making.
Addie: You know what? You are just wasting my time.
*Addie ends the chat.
After attempts of finding someone to talk to, he gave up. Addie got back to writing and still, he was mentally blocked. He does not know how the plot twist of the story is going to be. He was already frustrated with himself and decided to try Omegle one last time. This time, it was different. He opted to change the tags to ALONE, LONELY, and A LENDING EAR. It was the darkroom again who showed up.
Addie: You again? For fucks sake!
Marcus: What did you say?
Addie: Oh wow! Now you’re talking.
Marcus: What are you even here for?
Addie: Do you want to really know why? I just wanted someone who can lend their ears to me and listen to what I am about to say.
Marcus answers in a deep voice.
Marcus: Okay, then. Tell me your story.
Addie started telling how he was frustrated and what he was going through. He told him that he is experiencing a mental block and aside from that he was thinking of how he is going to come out to his parents. Addie is gay.
Marcus: Why don’t you just tell them?
Addie: It’s not that easy. I don’t want to disappoint them.
He kept on talking and talking until he realized that he was just the one that is so loud.
Addie: Wait, why am I the only person that is talking?
Marcus: Because you never gave me the chance? You kept on blobbing.
Addie tones down.
Addie: I’m sorry. So, what are you doing here?
Marcus: I also wanted to find someone who can listen to me.
Addie: Oh okay. Tell me.
Marcus started to tell about his feelings. He told him how he felt about his existence, that he was the RUNT, BLACK SHEEP, and the UNDERACHIVER in the family. They continue talking that they didn’t noticed what the time was. The sun was already rising. Marcus ask Addies’ account on snapchat.
Marcus: Hey I’m feeling a bit sleepy now. Do you mind if I can get your Snapchat account?
Addie: What for?
Marcus: So that we can still keep in contact with each other and continue talking.
Days turn into months of talking… Then suddenly, Addie stopped answering Marcus’s calls for a week.
Marcus was already starting to worry about Addies’s absence. He messaged him.
Marcus: Hey, why don’t you answer my calls? Is there something that has happened to you? I’m a bit worried.
Addie finally responded to his message.
Addie: I’m gay and I am starting to like you. There’s this thought in my mind that if one day you suddenly disappear, then I will just be left hanging and thinking of what could have gone wrong. We should end this now so we cannot hurt ourselves in the future.
Marcus: Please don’t leave me like this. You know that you’re the only person that I talk to. I don’t care about you being gay. I’m fine with it.
Addie: You don’t get it. I am starting to fall inlove with you. I don’t want to hurt myself by loving you.
Marcus was out of words. He didn’t know what to respond to that. Addies’s absence made him realized that he is starting to like him.
Marcus: What if I also like you?
Addie does not believe in Internet Love and Long Distance Relationships. There’s this thought in him that he will get cheated on and that the relationship will not work.
Addie: I don’t believe on Internet Love and Long Distance Relationship.
Marcus: Don’t put yourself in a situation you’re not yet in. What if it works? We will make it work.
They tried to work it out…
They started to date each other and they would always message each other almost every minute of the day. They were getting to know each other more. Addie found out that Marcus was a musician. He plays the guitar and he was one of the performers that got affected of this pandemic.
One day when they were video chatting, Addie saw a guitar at the back of Marcus. Learning to play the guitar was one of Addie’s goals, it was in his bucket list.
Addie: Was that a guitar at the back?
Marcus: Yeah. I used to play the guitar in my band but due to this pandemic, we weren’t able to do gigs and my bandmates and I were forced to stay home.
: Remember the night we met on Omegle? I was depressed that time. Playing the guitar was my way of escaping reality.
Without second thought, Addie asked him if he can teach him how to play the guitar.
Addie: Can you teach me to play the guitar? I’ve always had this guitar that my parents gave me and I’ve never had the chance to learn how to play it. It’s always in the attic and I don’t want to put it to waste.
Marcus: Okay then, I will teach you. But in one condition, I will get the first dibs in your articles. I want to be the first one who will read it.
They agreed with each other and get along. Addie learned how to play the guitar and Marcus’ depression somehow got controlled because of him teaching Addie to play the guitar.
Six Months Later.
Marcus finally have the guts to ask the question.
Marcus: We’ve been talking for months now and I know for a fact that I have already know you and I want to know you more. Addie, can you be my boyfriend?
Addie answers without having second thought..
Addie: Yes!
They started to enjoy each other's company and even do “crazy things”. This time it was different. There were good morning and good night messages. It was sweeter this time around.
Addie started to sing in the shower as if he was having a concert and used the shower head as his microphone. Marcus’ plays the guitar while smiling as if his thinking of someone.
They started to set plans for the both of them. Addie wanted to see Marcus when he is already fully vaccinated and fit to travel. Every night he would wait for a flash sale for a flight to Manila. They were planning where to stay and where to go. Addie lives in Bicol and Marcus is from Quezon City.
Finally! Addie already booked a flight for December but he kept it a secret to Marcus. He wanted to surprise him. They keep talking as usual and updating each other what happened about their day. They even send each other some photos.
Until one day, Addie started again not replying to Marcus’ calls and messages. This time, he was totally out of reach. Marcus did not receive any response from him for two-week time. And finally, Marcus decided to messaged him again.
Marcus: What now? Are you just going to ignore me again? Fuck Addie! You’re driving me crazy. You can just message me if you don’t love me anymore.
: You even said that you want to meet me once this pandemic is over.
: Fine! If you don’t love me anymore, then, I’ll stop loving you.
: Besides, we are just internet lovers. We just love each other in front of the screens!
There has been a rise of Covid cases where Addie lives. He was one of the individuals that got infected with the virus. That two-week time, Addie was brought in the ICU because he has severe symptoms. He was also not able to communicate with Marcus.
Addie passed away. He wasn’t able to win over his battle with COVID-19. While Marcus lived his life hating Addie for his absence. Life must go on for him but like any of broken-hearted individual, it’s not going to be easy for him.
And their love story ended that way. The end.
Author's Note.
COVID-19 took many lives and all we can do now is to keep safe and healthy. I encourage you to get vaccinated because it is not just for your self but also for the people around you. Getting vaccinated is a way of helping to stop the spread of the virus.
Always take care of yourself, think of Addie and Marcus's story. They were lovers but no one told Marcus about what happened to Addie. Ask yourself this, who's going to be the one to tell your internet friends if there's something bad happened to you? They will be left hanging and wondering about your absence.
Hey! If you finished reading my story, thank you! I was actually questioning myself if I should publish this but yeah. Here it is now. lol.

The Night We Crashed
Hey silly! How are you? I have been missing in action on this platform for a few days and I have a lot to catch up on. I have not been able to focus lately especially interacting here because of the loud music of our neighbor. (Ikaw ang star ng buhay ko. ugh! The song that is playing now)
This is not an article rather this is a storytime about the night that has been an eye-opening experience for me.
July 19, 2021
Let me start by telling you why I left the house. My elementary friend invited me for his 21st birthday. I couldn't refuse since he has already directly messaged me and we haven't really bonded since high school. The decision was mine to be made and I push to attending the party since I also needed to breathe fresh air to unwind because I have been staying in the house for almost a month.
My friends pick me up at the house at around 4:30 in the afternoon. We arrived there right on time before the rain started to pour down. I am familiar with the other guests and as usual, we sang in the karaoke, joked around, and catch up. I was so happy to see some of my friends that I haven't seen for months.
It was around 5 in the afternoon when we already had our food. We sang happy birthday to my friend and took some photos. After that, some of my friends are already drinking. I stayed with my elementary bestie for a couple of minutes before joining the rest of the group.
I joined them after so many attempts of convincing me to drink. I also want to drink that night but in moderation.
At around 8 o'clock some of our friends decided to leave---even our driver. We had no choice but to let the celebrant drive us home. We drank until 1:30 in the morning. We were drinking gin and beers. The alcohol started to kick in and I am the one who is taking the shot for the celebrant because we don't want him to get drunk.
The drinking session finally ended quarter to 2 o'clock and we are already preparing to leave. There were 5 of us that the celebrant needed to drive home and I will tell you that the distance of our houses is far away from each other except for Rina's house.
Along with us is the celebrant's friends, they come along so that Frank will have someone to talk to when driving home. We already dropped off some of my friends and it was I and Rina's turn. We arrived at Rina's place and it has not been a minute when the incident happened. We crashed into someone's gate. The side wheel hit the gate when Frank's cousin was trying to maneuver the tricycle. It was a loud bang that the owners were awakened by the noise. I was inside of the tricycle that time and all I can remember is lights were flashing and there was a lot of commotion. I stepped out of the vehicle to apologize to the owners and we left already.
What happened was Frank was the initial driver and when it was my turn to be dropped off, his cousin insisted that he will be the one who's going to drive. Little did we know that his cousin is way drunk more than him. An impulsive action that led to a life threatening situation for all of us.
No one got hurt. But we needed to compensate for the damages that the crash made. It has been a traumatizing experience for us. We overdone ourselves and underestimated the effect of the alcohol. I was even telling my friend that, *"Minsan na nga lang lumabas ng bahay tas madidisgrasya pa".* I was so worried that my Mom would find out since my brother already knew it the moment I woke up. He asked me what was the time of my arrival and he said that her classmate was telling him that we crashed into their gate. All-day long I was dealing with anxiety attacks and worried as fvck.
One night ruined my mental health that I was protecting for over months now. We almost got seriously injured because of our actions. And I wrote this for me to let out the anxiousness that the incident has caused me. Our reckless actions led to a night that made us realized that this is the price we should pay.
That night was a lesson for all of us. We will not overdo ourselves again with alcohol and go home as early as possible. Or to what my friend said, "Mas okay nang makitulog na lang kaysa puwersahin niyo pang makauwi."
Author's note.
Thank you for reading my not so interesting story. I wish you good health and safety. Please lang take care of yourselves, ang hirap mamatay nang wala sa oras. Kawawa yung mga maiiwan.
Anyway, my friend paid for the damages that cause him 1k, nag bigay din ako ng onti. The damages were so minimal that you can't even tell na nabangga yung gate. Nag joke na lang ako sa friend ko na baka ipambabayad lang yun sa shopee orders. HAHAHAHAHAHA. I think this is the literal Never Have I Ever because Never have I Ever thought that, that night would be a disaster.
Kidding aside, I have a lot of catching up to do with your articles. I'll make it up to you as soon as the neighbor's loud music stops.

Getting To Know Me Series: Answering Would You Rather Questions!
Okay, another challenge has passed and now there's this thing called "Would You Rather". I was smiling throughout the time I was reading Ate @Ruffa 's article about this and I thought of writing mine. While reading it, I felt like answering pageant questions. Hahahaha. Lol. Like my "Never Have I Ever Challenge', I hope that you will get to know me more.
**Would you rather be a multi-millionaire in 1900 or a middle-class person today?**
I'd rather be a multi-millionaire in the 1900s. Why? Because the Asian and Spanish Flu occurred at that time and having that amount of money will help reach a lot of people and help fund researches. And as Catriona said, "We should see situations with a silver lining." Having to experience what is happening in today's time is a wake-up call for us to restore our faith in humanity. There's still hope. I know money can't buy happiness but, helping other people can give us the fulfillment that can make us happy.
**Would you rather date your best friend's sibling or have your best friend date your sibling?**
I don't really have a best friend but I will try to answer this question. We wouldn't know how someone would act or if someone is a good person if we have not at least get to bond with them even at least a short period of time. With this question, both of the choices are good. For me, it goes the other way around. I've known my sibling his/her entire life based on what they want to show off and how they act inside the house and when I'm with them. I know my best friend would not let me date his/her sibling if it's not a good person and I would do the same. Anyway, I'll just let them hit me up with they want to. Hahahaha joke!
**Would you rather receive a guaranteed $250**
As long as it is clean money, I would love to! I can already buy a lot of things and help other people with that money and I can save the remaining money for future spending. And with that money, I can spend it on the things I love that can help me keep my mental health healthy.
**Would you rather not get a birthday cake on your birthday or not get any gifts on your birthday?**
I would rather not get any gifts on my birthday. I know how it feels like to not be celebrating a birthday with simple but a special cake. Having a cake means a lot at birthday parties. It is one of the highlights that symbolizes that you have aged a year older by blowing the candles on top of it. And for me, we can receive gifts any time of the year most especially on Christmas and we can reward ourselves by buying our own gifts. **You can always buy yourself a gift. It should not always come from other people.**
**Would you rather die at 50 with no regrets or at 90 with numerous regrets?**
I would rather die at 50 with no regrets because it just shows that I have accomplished the things that I want with my life. It's as if I already have my fair share in this world. And I wouldn't want to live a long life if it will all just be regrets. As if I am being punished with a life sentence full of regrets. What I am trying to tell here is that we should live our lives according to what we want and to what can really make us happy. **Living a long life is not the basis of having a beautiful life.**
**Would you rather get a terrible tattoo that's visible or a terrible scar that's semi-visible?**
Why do I feel like the choices are just the same in terms of the consequences? Hahahaha. I would rather have a terrible scar that's semi-visible rather than having a terrible tattoo that's visible. With modern technology and its inventions, anything is impossible now. Terrible scars and tattoos can already be removed with the help of Science! But I would still choose to have a semi-visible scar hahahaha I would not make terrible life choices with having a tattoo in my visible areas.
**Would you rather watch a movie in a theater by yourself or with friends but as the third wheel?**
Why did I even laughed the moment I read this question? Hahahahahaha. Uhmm. I would rather watch a movie in a theater by myself than be a third wheel. I don't want to deal with their 'cheesiness' as a couple and I don't want to hear the girl shouting in fear and trying to hide on her boyfriend's jacket when the movie genre is Suspense/horror. lol. And I would love to go watch a movie on my own because it is one of my bucket lists.
**Would you rather have wet gloves or wet shoes every time you go out in the snow?**
There is no other worse feeling than having to wear wet shoes. I know we don't experience snow here in the Philippines but I have already worn wet shoes with wet socks in it. Gross and uncomfortable! So, I would rather have wet gloves since I can take it off from time to time.
**Would you rather eat steak with a spoon or soup with a fork?**
I would rather eat steak with a spoon! Hahahaha. Spoon has many uses: it can cut/slice on meat and we can use it by scooping soup. Spoon is the key! Don't even try to argue with me. HAHAHAHAHA.
**Would you rather be a good cook or be well organized?**
Oh my gosh. I find this question very hard because I am not both. I am an organized person but I can be messy sometimes and learning to cook is one of my dreams. Okay, I will choose to be a good cook since the best way through a man's heart is his stomach. I'll make him good food and he will be the one to organize the things in the house. HAHAHAHAHA.
Final thoughts.
I find other questions difficult and it gave me a minute to think about it. We may be different in our choices and I respect that. The diversity between us should exist as it helps us to get to know each other more.
I learned that Ate Ruffa found this challenge through @kingofreview 's article about this. I will be linking their articles below if in case you are interested in reading their entries.
This article is on my #GettingToKnowMeSeries like my Never Have I Ever Challenge, I hope that you will know me through this article. Thank you for reading this. Stay safe and healthy!

Getting To Know Me Series: Never Have I Ever Challenge
I have been tagged by @kli4d and @Khairro to do this challenge and I am ready to hop on this trend. Let's get started and I hope you will know more about WanderingMedStudent!
**Never have I ever been to a stadium concert.**
I haven't but I am looking forward to attending concerts with my friends or with a special someone. Listening to my favorite artists/ bands/ groups' songs are one of my ways to deal with emotionally overwhelming situations. I told myself that one day, I will have the chance to attend the concerts of Sam Smith, Ben & Ben, and Hillsong United regardless of the money I will spend.
**Never have I ever found myself entertaining.**
I have. I have always been the life of the party and the one who makes jokes even in serious situations to ease the tension. Why would I claim this? Because I, myself is entertained about the things I do. Sometimes I would laugh at a message before I send it to someone because I find it too funny. Even when I'm sad and I am venting out my emotions to my friend, I would always have the time to squeeze in a joke while I'm in the middle of crying. Lol.
**Never have I ever spilled a drink all over myself.**
I have. Being the clumsy person that I am, I would always bring an extra shirt with me whenever I go out with my family or friends. I can still remember the time when I was at a theme park with my family. I spilled the avocado shake all over me, and the consequences? My family is so upset with me. No wonder they always hated me for that.
**Never have I ever laughed so hard I peed in my pants a little.**
I have. Okay, hear me out on this. Have you experienced being tickled in your private area and your friends are restraining you? Because I have, it's not that worse. I just peed a little. Hahahahaha. The faces on my friends while I was struggling-laughing that time.
**Never have I ever watched Game of Thrones**
I haven't but this series was actually on my list to be watched this summer vacation. I have been seeing posters, artworks from this series and it gives me Narnia vibes. I'm not sure about it. lol. Anyway, since I have been fond lately of Elite, I might just watch the whole series of Game of Thrones in the next summer vacation. Hahaha!
**Never have I ever have I read an ebook.**
I haven't. I remember the time when ebooks were so popular and I think it's still is, I asked my friend to Bluetooth me some of her ebooks that I never read. Hihi. But I have this ebook that I have been eyeing because it talks about personal growth. I already forgot what was it called because I can't find a free copy of it on the internet. (I'm too stingy to pay for it.) Hahahahaha.
**Never have I ever dressed up as the opposite sex.**
I have. I am not an effeminate gay but I dressed up just for fun. It was the time when all of us in our dorm were so stressed up because of upcoming exams and academic requirements. We were in the room of Sarah that time and she made me wore her clothes. I even wore her bra!!! HAHAHAHAHA. I stopped when I noticed that they were filming already. Lol. I just wanted it between all of us. The people who I was with at that time.
**Never have I ever tried cutting my friend's hair.**
I have. I was joking around that time to cut my friend's hair and I did not expect the pair of scissors would actually reach her hair. I never told her. Hahahaha. Anyway, it was from 4 years ago, I will never do it again unless she permits me.
**Never have I ever used a dating app.**
I have. It was the start of lockdown when I downloaded the Bumble app. My only intention was to find someone to talk to. I was laughing when I saw some individuals that are close to me. I guess, pandemic effect? Hahahaha. I found someone that I conversed with for days and we even changed memes!!! After that, he ghosted me. (Memes lang pala ang habol.) Hahahahaha.
**Never have I ever cracked a screen on any of my phones.**
I have and I've done it accidentally countless times already. I even bought a new phone case last week that has a built-in ring holder and has a wrist strip. To be honest, I was actually afraid that one day my phone will not open again for the reason that it has been thrown over for countless times due to clumsiness.
I used this website to produce ten never have I ever questions:

Pandemic Effects: The Rise of Online Barters
Hi. I wrote this reflection paper yesterday for someone's class and I thought of sharing it here. This is about an article about taxing Online Barters. Also, I just want to say that I am not good in academic writing. Don't come after me for my bad writings. lol.
Link:
Online Barters: To Tax or Not To Tax
**Is there a need to tax online barters?**
This pandemic brought so many changes to our lives. It has changed the way we live and interact with other people. **Quarantine restrictions made us feel that we are caged into an air-tight space where we could not move like how we used to.**
So many doors have closed and some opened. Since the start of this pandemic, we have been searching for ways on how to survive and fill our tummy from day by day. **Internet access paved the way to interact with each other.** Online barters are common nowadays and it is seen all over the net. I, myself had the chance to exchange items with someone and it gave opportunity to help other people with resources. I exchanged goods for her shoes because I was in need that time.
Facebook marketplace is a feature of Facebook where you can post items for sale/swap without fee. Users would barter here their items with the same price or if not, according to what they have discussed with each other.
Should we tax online barters? I think that this should not be taxed since this is somehow a way of the Filipino thing called ***“Bayanihan"*** or in English “helping each other out”. This is an exchange of resources between commoners. As per Secretary Roman Lopez, said, of Department of Trade and Industry, “it depends. It depends on whether or not such barter trading is part of the regular course of business.” There are businessmen out there who earn tons of money by trading resources, the Government should focus to them.
*A* ***value-added tax*** *(****VAT****) is a consumption* ***tax*** *placed on a product whenever value is added at each stage of the supply chain, from production to the point of sale. ...* ***Value-added*** *taxation is based on taxpayers' consumption rather than their income.*
Source: Value-Added Tax (VAT)
Putting up VAT on online barters is like taking a portion of a commoner’s resources. In this time of pandemic, it is just right for the government to have sympathy on its people. And the ones that they should focus on more are the business tycoons that makes more money and has the greater contributions in the growth of our economy.
***Final thoughts.***
I have my fair-share of silently battling my problems and I would not let someone die out of hunger during this epidemic virus. COVID-19 relays a timely message to us that we should restore humanity in our hearts. You are not the only one who suffers in this time, we all are. May we not forget to help others that in need.
While writing this "reflection paper", I actually don't have a prior knowledge about taxation and how the economic industry works. I just voiced out what my heart speaks. Also, I altered some of the thoughts that I indicated in the original reflection paper.
I would appreciate if someone who has knowledge about how the Taxation Industry works comments on this article.
Let me ask you. Would you tax Acts of Kindness?
P.S. I know the reading time of this did not pass my reading time goal, but, I just wanted to share this with you guys since I spent time writing this. And I still don't have an article to post.

Target Locked
My read.cash account turned 1 month last June 26 and the original plan was to write an article about it. But things didn't go as planned because there were life events that started to go my way.
I have been seeing monthly goals of some writers here that they shared the link in noise.cash like @carisdaneym2 and @immaryandmerry.
https://read.cash/@immaryandmerry/goals-to-grind-for-this-month-of-july-6fced7ab
https://read.cash/@carisdaneym2/hey-july-can-we-fly-high-1d53b2e7
So, I thought of writing mine as well and combining my supposedly "A month of writing articles" thoughts in one article.
I have no clue or any writing background when I started writing articles here on read.cash. And that gave me a hard time figuring out how to write articles in my own style. My one-month stay here on this platform made me realize that I have still a lot to learn and to improve in some areas that concern me.
Here are some of my goals for my account and as a writer:
**My articles should at least be 5-minute read**
As of now, I have already published 11 articles, and only of those passed my reading time goal.
It was never easy for me to express my thoughts through writing. Bless those people who can. How? 😬 Writing long articles is a challenge but, the fact that there are people who read my articles shows that somehow I may not be a bad writer after all. There's always room for improvement and improving my craft will always be one of my top priorities.
I've read an article of @TheRandomRewarder before that short posts are most likely not going to receive any tips from him. And I think if I will be able to create longer articles, he might be able to visit my works. I know this is so pathetic of me to think this way, but why not give it a shot? Right?
https://read.cash/@TheRandomRewarder/have-i-tipped-you-a12541ca
**Read at least 10 articles a week**
Will you believe me if I say that I am a lazy reader? HAHAHAHA It's difficult to imagine that a med student who has a lot of reading assignments is actually a lazy reader. I am an auditory learner and reading just makes me bored. My attention span is so short that I will just get distracted whenever I'm in the middle of reading something.
Why did I even come up with this goal? I've always appreciated those lovely individuals who lend their time to read my articles. It means a lot to me as it gives me validation to continue writing and the ones who leave comments on my work.
I know it is not an obligation of me to read other author's work, but, it is just right for me to give back the time that they also lend to read my articles. Few minutes will not take much of my life especially if the article is well written. And I will be learning from their articles as well. #LearningNeverStops
**Attract sponsors**
It is so shameless of me to put a sponsors block at the end of my articles. As if I am a great writer. It was a spontaneous day when I was writing an article and I thought of putting it at the end of my articles. There's this what-if question. What if somebody actually wanted to sponsor like how they would sponsor other writers? What if it will just be stuck up down there and no one decides to sponsor me?
The day before @carisdaneym2 sent a sponsorship request, the thought of removing the sponsors block already slipped into my mind. Upon checking my notifications here, I was shocked when I saw that there is someone who really wants to sponsor me.
Saying thank you is not enough, but, @carisdaneym2 , I am truly happy that you've chosen to sponsor me. I hope that my article will not fail you. This kind gesture of yours gave me the drive to work harder to attract more sponsors.
**Writing article at least once a week**
I already have tons of topics for my upcoming articles but, I would always end up not writing anything because I don't know where to start. My pending topics are all queued up in my notebook.
Receiving questions like when will I be publishing a new article or if I do have a new article makes my heart flutter. It makes me happy because it just means that you are looking forward to it.
I gave myself time to rest and to reflect on my writing journey. I noticed that I have been too eager in publishing articles in the previous weeks and it didn't end well. Offering a new piece of context on this platform is really amazing but sometimes, it just overwhelms me. I know for a fact that I am pressured by what other users have and it affected in me someway.
I aspire to publish an article at least once a week that is relevant so that readers can relate to it. An article that can help people to realize certain things and not just all about myself. Lol.
**Gaining New Subscribers**
This is in connection with writing articles that people can relate to. Gaining subscribers for me means more readers will be able to read my work. It started from a small number of readers and from time to time, my articles are reaching many people.
**Connect with other writes**
I can still remember who invited me to join the Noiseristificationism chat group, it was @immaryandmerry . At first, I was too aloof. I was shy because I am just a newbie to the platform. And yesterday, I started to make noise in our chat group. Lol. I enjoy having a conversation with these people and listen to their sentiments.
After all, It is not just a chat group to promote the newly published articles, it's also a place to interact-- to make bardagulan. HAHAHA. Shout-out to these people @carisdaneym2 , @Khairro and @kli4d . To many bardagulan moments with you.
**Learn more about the topics/tags I put on my articles**
It was yesterday when I learned about the group/family of Club1BCH writers. I have been adding Club1BCH tag to my articles and I'm very sorry if I offended all of you in some way. I didn't know any better. It will not happen again.
I learned about Club1BCH through this article of Ate @bmjc98:
https://read.cash/@bmjc98/everything-you-need-to-know-about-club1bch-8133a284
Lesson learned: To do my research first before I put tags on my article.
**Learn more about how the Cryptocurrency Market works**
I have friends who recently made an account in noise.cash and they are wondering to why the BCH on their external wallet was reduced. My only response was, "It's because of the BCH Value." I had a hard time explaining it to them.
So, I might just learn more about it since I still have few weeks before the new school year starts.
**Author's note.**
This article will most likely be my goal for the coming months. I am still in the process of finding my style to write. And maybe, in the coming weeks ahead I will be able to produce quality articles for you.
Thank you to all of you for reading, commenting, and interacting with me through my articles. It's not all about the upvotes for me, it's all about connecting with you guys and letting you know me through my articles.

We lost. We gained.
July 1, 2021
Hi. I just want to tell you guys what happened today.
Today was the day of the funeral of our beloved Lolo Erneng. We finally laid him to rest out in the Garden of Faith Memorial Garden.
It's sad because we won't have the chance to see him again in person. The memories and photos will just be our reference of seeing him.
Losing a loved one in the middle of a pandemic is hard. Some of his siblings were not able to attend the funeral ceremony because of their conditions and also the threat of COVID-19. Nothing hurts more than not being able to accompany your sibling's body to his final rest.
So, what about the title of this article?
We lost. We gained.
In preparation for earlier funeral, last night, I set my alarm 2 hours before the ceremony. But, I woke up quarter to six o'clock, which was two hours early from my alarm because of the noise for the preparation of foods.
My brother woke me up because my cat Bambi already gave birth. She gave birth to three cute little kittens.
Unfortunately, two of her kittens died today.
I named her kittens after the three siblings of my grandmother: Idoy, Oscar, and Erneng. The kittens names are Iddy, Scar, and Ernie. I made it sound "sosyal" or modern.
The one who survived is Ernie because I thought it should be named after our grandfather who just passed away so that we can still be reminded of his presence.
I buried Iddy and Ernie in our side yard and is near the Moringa tree. It's also where are other beloved pets are buried. And burying them there will benefit the plants as the remains will fertile the soil.
I am worried as Bambi is looking for her two kittens. It's not going to be easy for her since this is her first time giving birth. Adjustments can be done day by day and I will help her with her little one.
Indeed, God moves in mysterious ways. He gave us three little kittens to remember our three loved grandfathers. Ernie was a blessing to us. I know God sent him to be our comfort companion. The one who will be there for us in times of loneliness and despair.
While I was preparing my clothes, I saw this shirt that my Aunt gave me. It says "New beginnings". It's hard to accept that we will turn a new page in our lives and Lolo Erneng will no longer be a part of it.
Lolo Erneng's final rest gave us a heartbreak and a relief. We couldn't bear to see his situation when he was still with us. Why is his death a relief to us? It's because his sufferings already ended and he can finally rest.
As we turn a new page, we will never forget how he was a big part of our lives. Life will never be the same without him, but we must continue to live. Now, he is already with his siblings, his parents, and our almighty God.
Final Note.
Always appreciate your parents hard work and sacrifices. I know it's not our sole responsibility to give back to them, but, giving them a good funeral ceremony is what they deserve. At least in their last moments with us, we should honor them by giving them the best last ceremony of their lives.
Fin.
P.S. Thank you for all of you who sent condolences to our family. I wish you all so well. Stay safe and healthy.

To someone: Choosing Yourself Matters!
06/29/2021
Life can be tough sometimes. I am writing this at this very moment of reoccurring sadness in my heart. I hope that you are doing fine.
To someone who deals with a problem all by himself/herself.
• Until when will you be dealing with your problems on your own? Sweetie, I know it's hard. If you cannot do it on your own already, you can always ask for help. Don't be shy to seek help. You're a human being too. You can't always fight monsters on your own.
To someone who doesn't have the courage to tell anyone what he/she is feeling.
• I just want to say that I can relate to you. It's not always that I have the guts to tell anyone what I feel because I always think that I might just be a burden to them or I may be taking their time.
We just needed someone to listen to our stories. Someone who can lend their ears for us. But, there are still people who would just pretend to listen to us even if they aren't really concerned about us. And that's why we feel like we are just wasting their time and it has been changing us. It's far worse than having a trauma. Sometimes, the people we love gives us the worse traumas in our lives.
Pain demands to be felt. Let it sink in to you but you should set a limit to when will you still be dealing with that. Because the more you will try to forget about the pain and not deal with it, the more it will live a deep scar on your heart.
To someone who's having a hard time loving himself/herself.
• I'm not going to be a hypocrite here. There have been countless times when I wanted to give up on myself. I just wanted to get rid of the white spots on my body and these fats. I've even gotten to the point where I compared my body to the ones on the internet. How I questioned myself why my body isn't like that.
Praises and compliments of other people about you are just bonuses. The real acceptance should come from you. Don't be so hard on yourself to the extent that you will no longer eat your favorite food because you're afraid to get fat. If you're not in the mood to work out, then, don't force yourself. There's always time. Be kind to yourself. You should take care of yourself and don't make anyone do it for you.
To someone who doesn't have the confidence to dress up
• You only die once. You live every day of your life. For half of my life, I've been so conscious about how I dress because of my Dad. He would always tell us to dress presentably. And being gay added an extra layer of strictness when it comes to dressing up for me. Dressing feminine or clothes that are unisex would always be an issue for him because he was always concerned about what other people are going to say. But you know what? F*ck it! I just want to live my life without limits. People will always have a comment about me. Now, I am dressing up for myself and not for other people. If I feel that I don't want to dress up just because I'm going to buy at the grocery, then, I would just wear house clothes. Because the more I care about other people, the less I'm going to live my life to the fullest.
Final Note.
Babes! I've been there and I'm going to tell you that it is not an easy path, but, it's going to be worth it. I have been living my life with peace and harmony now because I'm not minding other people's lives.
Loving yourself matters! Once you truly learned to love yourself, life is going to be worth living. Always be there for yourself. Comfort yourself how you would comfort your closest friends.
Focus on yourself. Focus on your blooming.
I hope that you picked up something from this article even if I just wrote this at this very moment.
XOXO
Fin.

The Man Who Gained Wings Today
**June 23, 2021**
**You have gained wings today and joined our Almighty God.**
I went back home from jogging and received bad news. It was around 3 am when you passed away. About a week ago, I went to your house to bring the medicines that Mom bought for you. You're already thin and I can tell by the looks of you that you are not doing well. You were not able to visit our house for the past weeks because you're enduring your asthma. They brought you to the hospital for a check-up but it is already late. Your condition is already worse.
Do you know what I'm going to miss about you the most? It was the lovely afternoons that you've spent with us. You would always go here in our house to have coffee and snacks. You don't even accept two biscuits that I would always give you because you said one is enough. Then, I would always tell you to just bring it home and give it to my cousins or you can eat it when you feel hungry.
You have always been a good family man. A good father that would prioritize his family before yourself. The money that was on your hand would slip into your fingers because you automatically give it to your wife.
Uncle Nestor greeted you on Facebook with a Happy Father's day. He thanked you and said all of your dreams will come into reality because he is already in Rhiad to work and eventually can send some money for your needs.
**"Hinintay mo lang pala na makadating siya sa Rhiad tas nawala ka na."** I don't know but it is actually great that you've waited for him to leave because if you died before he left the Philippines, Uncle Nestor would probably not leave.
Your siblings, nephews, and nieces would always tell to us how grateful they are for the help that you've given them. The generosity that you showed them will never be forgotten and will always be cherished in our hearts.
We are grieving and at the same time somehow happy because you're suffering has ended.
Now that you are already with our Almighty God, you can now rest. We are grieving because we lost a great family member. You are already with your other siblings and your parents.
Lolo Erning, our lives will never be the same without you.
Final note.
Always appreciate your loved ones and show them how you appreciate and love them. Life is unpredictable. Every day that we wake up and live our lives is also a day that we lose a chance to live.

Disconnected from Social Media
**Spending time on the internet can be overwhelming sometimes and it can affect your HEALTH**.
I've thought of it well of deactivating my accounts. It took me months of contemplating to decide when is the time to do it because of some factors.
Attending online classes was one of the factors that I considered. Since some of my professors require us to create a Facebook group where our recorded lectures are being posted and it is where my professor announces the schedule of our google meets and exams.
I know at some point in my life that using these social media apps are already affecting my health and studies.
Being woke about the current issues in the country has taken a toll on my mental health. Although it's not a bad thing but sometimes I would use my social media accounts to vent out about the current issues. Then, I realized that maybe my posts can affect other people too just by them reading it.
The turning point of my social media life would be me seeking validation and being pressured by what I see online. I am fond of the likes and comments that I am receiving from other people and I was pressured about the Instagram posts and their fit bodies all over social media. It affected my self-esteem and I started to compare myself to them.
Also, I don't like seeing photos of Politicians all over my feed. They are eyesores for me.
It's hard to learn during this new setup and there are a lot of distractions that can affect your learning.
To be honest, sometimes I would enter the google meet and would just scroll down over my feed until the class is over. It lead to many problems. Due to my addiction to using my social media apps, I have been piled with school works and it then affected my mental health because I already don't know where to start.
Before I finally decided to disconnect from social media, I've always discussed it with my good friend. She gave me advices that enlightened me.
I have been disconnected from the 3 major social media platforms for about 12 weeks now. And I can really say that I am doing good without it. But, being disconnected from social media has also pros and cons.
**Pros and Cons**
**Pros**
First and foremost, I am focusing on myself now rather than the lives of other people.
I focused more on my studies.
Less stressors.
**Cons**
Being outdated is one major factor in being disconnected from social media.
Sometimes I forget to greet my friends on their birthday since I am not good at remembering special events.
Final Note.
***Before posting anything on your social media accounts, you should also consider how it will affect other people.*** Even if you say that it's your account, you should still be responsible for the things you post on the internet.
To be honest, I am enjoying life without social media. I've not even decided to whether when I will be activating my accounts again.
***"All of those likes and comments are just a bonus. The true validation should come from yourself."***
There are times that some of my friends are concerned about me being missing in action on the internet and I always tell them that I'm okay and I'm focusing my energy on myself.
You can always choose yourself over other things especially when it comes to your health. If you need to take a break from social media, then you should. As the popular gay couple ( Chris and Ian) on tiktok always say, *"Focus on your blooming."*

Are we really free?
Today as we celebrate our country's independence, I decided to write an article about it.
This year we are celebrating the 123 years of Independence since we have been freed from the hands of our colonizers. As we enjoy our so-called "Freedom", does it ever came to your mind the question, "Am I really free?" "Have I really gained independence?"
Independence for me has a lot of meaning: To be free from the hands of the colonizers, To live freely without fear, and To live life according to my preference.
So, what are the factors that affect our freedom?
Other countries lurking around our territories
Extrajudicial killings
Homophobic people
Rapists and other bad individuals
Corrupt politicians
Other Countries Lurking Around Our Territories
There have been sightings of Chinese fishing vessels in the West Philippine Sea. This is very alarming since they are entering our territory. I personally think that this is an act of no respect to our country. Since there have been many times that these issues have been brought up to the United Nations and have been discussed.
If these acts would still continue, then we are no longer safe in our own country. And to think that we are "friends" with China, why would they do it? Like repeatedly do it? President Rodrigo Duterte has been always saying that we are "friends" with them.
Keeping good relationships with other countries especially the neighboring ones is essentially good, but, we should still keep our boundaries from them. They should learn to pay respect to our territories and not violate our laws.
With these kinds of acts towards our country, do you still feel safe?
Extrajudicial Killings, Corrupt Politicians, Rapists, and other bad individuals
Lately, there have been numerous killings that are happening. Most of the victims are innocent.
Media reporters, Activists, Normal Citizens, etc. These people were killed by oppressors. Because they don't want them to speak up.
I know most of us now are afraid to speak up regarding these issues due to the threats that are going to arise and sometimes death. These bad individuals would resort to the idea of just killing the people so that no one will ever know what they are doing.
Walking down the streets is just dangerous as being hit by a car in the middle of the road. Snatchers and rapists are all over the place. They would target women that are walking all by themselves.
I have this experience where I was sexually violated by another guy and it was traumatizing. Having to keep that in my mind always hunts me. I can't stop thinking of the safety of the people around me.
Because of these injustices, we can't even roam around freely. There's fear that always exists in us.
Homophobic Individuals
Some of us do not have the privilege to express ourselves. To express our identity. Homophobic family members and religion are two of the many reasons why some of us cannot freely act according to our identity.
Yesterday, it was reported that there have been barbaric acts towards members of the LGBT+ Community. It says there that being a lesbian is against their religion.
They shouldn't have done these barbaric acts to these beautiful people. If they could've just let them live their own lives.
On a final note...
We can make these things disappear if we would vote for the right people that have an understanding and listens to the outcry of their countrymen. And maybe just maybe we can achieve the freedom that we truly deserve.
