I Am Ditching The Weighing Scale!
Hi, guys! We are halfway through the year, gosh. Time is so fast! A lot had happened already in the 1st half of the year. Can you believe that we will have a new president this June? Six years is so fast. I still remember Duterte's inauguration.
Anyway, in this article, I will be talking about fitness and health. I am a person who works out at least four times a week. I do cardio, resistance, and lifting. I can say that there is a big significant change in my mood, my body, and my sleep. Seriously, a 10-minute walk or run is enough to lose some fats.

My height is 5'6, 58 kg, 20+ years old, lol. I checked my BMI and it turned out to be normal.
Why am I ditching the weighing scale?
Normally, every morning, it is in my system already to check my weight after taking a pee. I then record my weight in my phone using the in-app of huawei My Health. This started when I gained weight because of the pandemic. My highest weight was 63 kg. I was so moody, sluggish, and feeling sleepy most of the time. I have a bad control on eating food. I eat until I felt very full. That is then when I decided to become healthy and monitor my weight.
In the long run, I realized that the weighing scale does say your body composition at all. It is just basically telling how heavy or light you are. What I am aiming for is to because strong and gain more muscles.
A typical weighing scale does not weigh your water retention, muscle count, fats count, etc. That is why I just focus on how I look and how I feel.
What is my body type goal?
My body type goal is "skinny thicc". I want to have visible muscle, butt and a float tummy. I want to have the confidence to wear whatever I want. I am not totally that confident right now hehe. Sure, I can wear shorts and tank tops, but I cannot wear a bikini, lol.

What will I focus on now?
I will focus more on lifting and resistance. I bought some equipment from Shopee and Lazada. I know these are luxuries but it will help me to build my body in the long run. Also, they are very sturdy and will last long.
Resistance band
This is good for your glutes, hips, arms, butt, etc. There is an instruction included on the product. Every color has a different resistance level. I got a level of resistance. I got the green on. The resistance is just okay for me but in the long run, I will switch to higher resistance. The price is PHP39 or USD 0.80 per band! A nice steal for a sturdy product.
Adjustable Kettlebell
This is for lifting. I like the color and the design of this product. They have pink too, but I like this shade of blue. The plates can be removed to adjust your weight preferences. This is a bit costly for me. I got this for PHP890 or USD18.
Pea Protein Powder
I was looking for a protein powder in the market and thoroughly research it first what is a protein powder. The number one type of it is whey protein powder. I learned that is made of animal products. I am scared that it will make my body super bulking and it may have a great impact of me since it is used to really grow muscle. Right now I am looking for a vegan alternative like the pea protein powder. I am still thinking about this so maybe in the future, I might try it too.
Currently...
Currently, I am 60 kg, and I feel lighter and curvier maybe because I lift more now. I feel much slimmer because I am building muscle. I will still continue to lift and do resistance workouts, and will not depend on the weighing scale.
