Prospecting Part 2: Found a hidden Gem - UatX

Hard to imagine that it was only last month that I've written on a daily basis. With the change in focus, it has now almost been a week since I'd written my last article that was published on 1 October 2021.

A Big Shift
I have mentioned a few times over the last few articles that change is imminent. My schedule and what I focus on in October will change. At this point in time, I have no idea if the "new normal" (I hate that phrase), will actually become normal after October. This will be the testing month.
I'm already finding that this change has taken almost 100% of my time. A big shift in focus and the rewards have thus far been good. Whether this will last or not is another matter. I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.
A New Frontier
One of the things that I will focus on is prospecting for gems. The smartBCH frontier has just been opened for prospecting. There are a handful of projects already in existence and I'm sure more will come.
As with any pioneering endeavors, much speculating and going through the haystack (though not that much hay at the moment), to find that needle of a gem. Some do it meticulously, and some do it the easiest way possible.
I will fall under the second category. This second category oftentimes involves gut feeling...a very dangerous tool to use. Though I fall under the second category, I do my best to make an educated guess and hopefully making sensible decisions. Sensible to me, may not be sensible to you, though.
I'm going to share with you one such decision and you let me know in the comment section below if it made any sense.
One Gem: UatX
One such gem I'm referring to is the UatX token. You don't hear much about it and there isn't much marketing done by the project folks. The site looks almost incomplete. Yet I think it's a gem.
My reason for considering this project a gem is exactly the reason why some may stay away from them. From what I can gather, UatX was started by developers on *5 September 2021*. It seems to me that they are very low profile and they go about doing what they do best, and that is to spend their time and passion on something that they believe in. In this case, it is to see the greater adoption of BCH and smartBCH. Case in point, in less than one month since launching, they'd launched the wagon.cash application that has already been gaining users. It is an alternative portal to move your BCH to the SEP20 network where all the fun and exciting smartBCH projects reside. Imagine what a team of capable developers with a marketing-savvy team member could do for this project. https://wagon.cash/
As you can tell, the website is simple and frankly, quite bare. On the landing page, you're greeted by a banner with two sentences that summarizes what the UatX project is about. Scroll down and you're rewarded with a paragraph with slightly more details and some links. That's about it.
I have been observing UatX from one week since their launch. Though this is still a new project, in this almost one month's time, I've noticed that their price has been steadily increasing. When I first started taking note of this token, the price per UatX was 0.0000007 BCH. It is now at 0.00000115 BCH. That's an increase of about **64%** in *less* than a month's time.
My gut feeling is that as more discover this token and decide to support it long-term, the price will increase further. This leads me to my next hypothesis.
Another reason why I think this token is a gem - their maximum supply of 500M tokens. And with a current Market Capitalization of less than $350,000, they still have room to grow.
As of the time of writing, the UatX token is ranked 6th in terms of liquidity and you can see from the below image that its price has increased by more than 50% in the last 7 days.
Like I said, nothing scientific or technical in how I consider this token a gem. Like any gem in the rough, it is a calculated risk. I'm also *banking* on these developers' passion to carry their vision through and truly make this a precious gem. It is my opinion that they should get someone to help them put up a professional-looking website with more detailed information about their projects and include a whitepaper. This will go a long way in getting more attention to their project.
Rising Tide
I believe that the tide is rising for the smartBCH sidechain. I also believe that a rising tide lifts all ships. Current projects with utility tokens and those that are managed well should do well.
It is a matter of time that smartBCH will get more eyes. More eyes mean more investors and participants that will flood into this space. This should result in the increase of market capitalizations of these early projects. It may take a year. Or it may take five years. At the rate it is going, I'm looking forward to a shorter time for smartBCH to be under more radars.
This is just one of the projects that I'm keeping a close eye on. I'll share with you more in time to come.

This update is added a few hours after I'd completed this article. Since then, the price of UatX token had dropped to as low as 0.00000067 BCH but is now steadily climbing back up again. As of this edit, which is 3 hours from that bottom low, it had climbed back up to 0.00000083 BCH and is still climbing.

September was a weird month. I entered into it highly optimistic. Don't get me wrong, there was nothing bad about it. It's just weird.
It was a quiet month. Very quiet. Many have felt it. But at the same time, it was a busy month. Busy due to the happenings with smartBCH projects and launches.
It was for this reason that I had written yesterday's article. There has to be a change in the way I proceed. Otherwise, what is good becomes worse. I'd started writing this quite a while back. I don't remember when. It was that long. For unknown reasons, I'd stopped, and today, as I was looking through my list of unfinished articles, and with all that's been happening recently, I thought this would be a good time to pick it back up and gave it a proper finishing. Let's go...
**The enemy of what's best is what's good**. Even if it's very good, it's still not the best. I may be close. Until it is the uncontested best, then it's still just good or very good.
To be Best, via To be Better
What does this mean?
It all depends on how you handle the good. Put another way, if handled incorrectly, too much of a good thing can be detrimental to your journey in achieving the best. You get stuck at being good. Satisfied and comfortable. Forget about being the best, even being better was not in the picture.
You may be wondering what has gotten into me, right? Why am I even thinking about this?
Don't just ask Why. Ask What If?
It's how my brain works. Sometimes, I reflect and think about current events in my life. Ask "**why**" but I think it's also *important* to ask "**what if?**"
This was what triggered this thought.
I have been spending a lot of time on both the Read.Cash and Noise.Cash platform. It has been very good to me and my August result is proof of that.
In my opinion, that was really good. But is there all there is to it?
The clear answer is a resounding - NO.
#BetterSeptember
Earlier this month, I'd posted my goals and a self-challenge. With the goals and self-challenge set, I ventured into September without an inkling what she would present me with. Today's the last day of September. I do see a clearer direction and am ready to make the changes. I can feel the **wind** *blowing*. **If I don't adjust my sail, my ship may end up in the wrong place**. In short, my ship may never come in.
The Wind
This wind had started blowing earlier than August. But it was in September that I have felt that it has gotten stronger and I believe with all my heart that it will only get stronger in the months to come. What wind is this? It's the **smartBCH sidechain**.
I am very excited about the opportunities presented here. **BCH** is like the *wheel* with many already using it to go places. But **without an engine to drive it**, it can only go so far and at reduced speed. **smartBCH is the engine** and it comes with *better wheels*. It is the engine that sits on top of these wheels that has the **potential** to drive it to more places at a faster pace.
I want to be a part of this **revolution**. It is not often that such opportunity presents itself.
The Sail
The wind is blowing. It is up to me to decide how to make the best use of it. Now is the time to re-adjust the sail to ride this wind. September has been that kind of a month for me. I have started observing and picking up more details and information relating to smartBCH.
A big portion of this month was spent on learning, and also on prospecting. Prospecting was part of the learning process for me. That was why I had written the Prospector article two days ago. Prospecting takes time. Learning takes time. Getting ready to set sail takes time. And setting sail is not an easy task. Until that sail has been hoisted and set correctly, the ship is not going in the intended direction. This is a critical step. https://read.cash/@Just1dood/i-am-a-prospector-part-1-e410e088
To set the sail, it's all hands on deck. I have to get involved to get a feel of the wind direction, velocity, and hazards in its path. I need to know my ship's limitations. I need to know my skill set. I need to know who I need to get on board to make this a trip of a lifetime. Trust is of the essence here. Trust in smartBCH. Trust in the ship, and trust in shipmates. That's a lot on the plate.
The Scale
Life is about balance. Tilt too much in one direction and we may go off the deep end.
To understand what I mean, we get back to the title of this article - **Don't let too much of a good thing prevent you from making it better!**
What does that mean? Since getting restarted in Read.Cash and Noise.Cash in late June, it has been a heck of a ride. It has been a good ride. A very good ride. I want to make it into a better ride. I can't achieve that if I kept on doing what I have been doing, and that is to keep up with my writing schedule.
I know for a fact that if I kept it up, I would do a mediocre job at both. I won't do great at Read.Cash/Noise.Cash and I won't do great at my smartBCH plans.
As it is, for the last two months, I have published an article a day, except on Sundays. It has been consistent and not a single day was missed. Today would be the seal to that commitment. Starting next month, i.e. from tomorrow onwards, I will reduce the frequency of my writing and publication. I will likely end up writing more about my smartBCH experience and journey and hopefully, that will help others set their sails on their journeys too.
To be Better, and on the way to be Best
I believe by scaling back on my writing, I would be able to **write** *better* and have articles that can be more helpful to others. That does not mean that occasionally I'll publish something goofy and off the top of my head. It is still one of my avenues to have some fun and to release steam at the same time.
This will also allow me to be *better* at pursuing my smartBCH direction and goals.
I have a rough idea of what the balance would look like and I will write them down to share after my September report.

One of the things that have helped me cope with the lockdown is to find things to do online. You are right if you say that there is only so much we can do online before we get sick of it too. For some, there wasn't much of a choice because our current livelihood depended on being online constantly. For others? What should we do? This and some of the questions mentioned in Bloghound's short article deserve having a closer look at before we go off the deep end.
I for one think that the temporary relief to do **something different** and I intend to do create some distraction from our normal routine through this article.
I'll find some of the stupidest and weirdest jokes I can find from around cyberspace. I hope you will find some entertainment value out of these. Sit back, relax, and most importantly, have a good laugh.

I am a Prospector - Part 1

This will be a short article as an introduction to my own Prospecting experience.
Prospecting 101: Back Then
Back in the olden days, from what I learn on television shows, to be a prospector, you need to go to the Wild Wild West.
No, you can't fly there. Wilbur and Orville hadn't drawn, build, tested their motor-operated airplane yet. You can get there by walking, following a caravan, riding a horse. I think trains too cause it was during that time that there were train robberies. Didn't you see that in movies?
Once there, you go to a hardware store, get your prospecting tools such as shovels, dynamites (?), pickaxe, ropes (to tie up thieves), guns with lots of ammo, knives, machetes, cooking utensils, matches, water bottles, tents, sleeping bags...and, oh yeah, lots of beans. Why? Cause in all those gold rush movies I watch, they all eat lots of beans.
If you own a hardware store, you'd have done yourself well. And if you have owned a saloon, you'd have done very, very well. Make sure you have good bouncers and a few of the fastest guns in the west to keep a good eye on your place. One more thing, make sure you and the carpenter are good buddies. You'll need him to fix the damages to your saloon after the weekly brawl.
Prospecting 101: Now
Today, prospecting is very different. No need to fly anywhere. Don't need to worry about looking for a caravan or horses to take you there. Don't even need to take the train. You just need a tough butt cause you'll be sitting in front of the computer for hours.
Hardware store? No need to go there. However, you may need good hardware depending on what you want to prospect. Top specifications computer hardware.
In this gold rush, if you run a platform, it's as good as owning a hardware store and a saloon combined. You make money off the prospectors without taking the risks that the prospectors take. Your risk is that no prospectors would want to come into your hardware store (i.e. use your platform). Then again, the risk is minimal if you do it right. Many get the prospectors to pay upfront so that you will have enough to build their store or saloon and stock it to the brim to sell to the same prospectors who'd invested in your store.
As a prospector, we need to be careful. There are those unscrupulous so-called potential saloon owners with their marketing savvy gobbledegook to entice unsuspecting prospectors out of their hard-earned money. Both Newbie & veteran prospectors must be vigilant in this new Wild West. No one is immune from attractive marketing pitches and professional scammers. That's why you constantly hear **DYOR**. In case you were wondering, that's not a type of liquor they serve in the new saloon.
What to prospect
In this new frontier, there are basically two areas to prospect. Coins & NFTs.
I will not go into details in this article as it serves as an introduction. I will go into more detail about what I Prospect in a future article. This will likely be after the usual monthly report and monthly goal articles, which means later in the first week of October at the earliest.
Another reason is that I'm currently developing a slight headache from all my prospecting research. Best for me to stop writing here and go back to more research. LOL. Till then, stay safe, my friends.

The Power of Self-Confessions

*Note: I'm not an expert on the matter. This is purely my observation and opinion. After reading, you should do your own research to come to a conclusion whether you agree or disagree with what I'm about to share.*
Self-confessions lead to self-fulfilling prophecies. That's a strong statement. Let me make my point and then you decide if it holds any water.
I know this is a little bit heavy for a Monday but that was what's on my mind and obey it, I do. Yes, siree. So, here goes...
Self-fulfilling Prophesy
Have you ever heard of this phrase? If not, sit back, put on your seat belt, and be shocked. No need to worry. It's not the electric chair. It's the truth that will shock us. An epiphany moment. A light bulb lighting. An Aha moment!
We'll start with the definition of what Self-Fulfilling Prophesy is.

Why is this Important?
Without realizing it, many of us are either self-programming ourselves to self-destruct or "self-construct".
However, all things being equal, that is, regardless of our personalities, I can safely say that humans tend to gravitate towards the negative spectrum in attitudes and views. Take for example, when something goes wrong, it is easy to assign blame rather than to explore what had gone wrong and to look for corrective actions.
I'm no psychologist, but I think that's just human nature. It's easier to blame than to look for solutions. It's the path of least resistance.
This leads me to the next point. Given such an outlook on life, being positive is an uphill task.
How does this fit into the self-fulfilling narrative? For one, we reinforce this negativity without knowing it.
How can we accomplish this, you may ask. Good question. We can explore a few together.
Bad Foundation Self-Fulfiling Prophesy
This is a play on the words flounder and foundation. If not careful, the foundation (i.e. formative years) could cause one to flounder later on in life.
We were born but we were 'build' through reinforcements.
Here's an all too familiar scenario. A child growing up hearing this familiar phrase, "You're so stupid! You're a waste of space." How do you think this child will grow up thinking? This phrase will replay in his or her mind like a broken record constantly reinforcing this negativity until he/she believes it and exhibits such behaviors.
Obviously, on the flip side, the positive reinforcements also work the same. A child growing up with constant positive words such as "You are smart, you can do it" will grow up being an achiever because he or she will have the mindset that nothing is impossible.
Heartache Self-fulfilling Prophesy
For this point, I'll use one example and that is focused on the condition of the heart. Many of us do this all the time. We may not realize that we were actively feeding our minds negative reinforcements when we do it. And the interesting part is that we enjoy it a lot. We may even share it with friends, thus spreading this self-fulfilling prophecy.
I'll share a few of these phrases and see if you recognize them:
Love, love will tear us apart again
And I'm here, to remind you of the mess you left when you went away
Somethin' inside has died, and I can't hide and I just can't fake it
Don't leave me in all this pain. Don't leave me out in the rain.
Although we both lie close together we feel miles apart inside
I Don't Love You Anymore
I'm sure by now, you'd guessed what the above are. They are taken from song lyrics. Some of which we love the tune or song so much that we keep singing them, thus imprinting the message in our mind, heart, and soul. Do you agree? I don't have any empirical data to prove my point but if psychology is to be believed, I do think they make an impact on our lives. Knowingly or unknowingly affecting the outcomes of certain relationships.

It's Too Late by Carole King (1971)
"Un-Break My Heart" by Toni Braxton (1996)
"Every Rose Has Its Thorn" by Poison (1988)
The last snippet of lyrics was taken from the song, "I Don't Love You Anymore" by ANOHNI. It was from an album called "Hopeless". Now, do I need to elaborate further on how depressing this can get?

The Pedestal
Another factor for us to take a closer look at is the power of another media - Television, and Movies.
Ever wonder why after watching certain commercials, you have a sudden urge to purchase that particular item or brand? You think that it's the truth. That that item by that brand is the best. That's what the commercial was telling you.
Ever wonder why after watching those larger-than-life juicy McDonald's (or insert your favorite fast-food chain here) burgers, you feel like going to a McDonald's (or your favorite fast-food chain) even though you *KNOW* that you won't get one anywhere near the one shown in the commercial? You *believe* in the commercial, even though you *know* that's not the truth.
Now, think about those many hours you spend on "*happily ever after*" fairy tales or those Korean dramas with that *near-perfect* male or female stars. You then start comparing them to your spouse or lover. They sure don't measure up. How come he or she isn't as romantic as that star in the show. How come this, how come that. Soon you'll be singing the #3 song mentioned above and start to lose the one closest to you. And the one you've put on the pedestal remains a figment in your imagination.
Conclusion
I have no idea how to end this article. Maybe I lean back on my experience and understanding of how important it is to protect what goes into our minds. We do a slightly better job of protecting what goes into our mouths.
I do believe that there are gems that can be found in the best-selling book of all time - the Bible.

Keeping the heart starts with guarding the mind. If we are not careful, repetitive images, words, phrases playing in our minds will result in crippling self-inflicted wounds.

I'd found out for the first time on 22 September that I wasn't receiving any tips. Prior to this, I've only heard of others getting into this sticky situation but have not experienced it firsthand. I didn't think and wasn't sure I'd ever experience this although there is always that nagging fear at the back of my mind that it would hit one of these days. It's one of those familiar feelings that we sometimes experience in life. You know, the kind that when you're speeding and you think that, "Nah, it won't happen to me. Not today. Cause today, I'm late for this appointment."
And guess what? Just as you take the next bend at a nerve-wracking speed, out of the corner of your eye, you caught a glimpse of that dreaded white-uniformed figure with a radar gun pointed at you. When you looked back at the rearview mirror, you ought to have sworn you'd seen the smirk on the figure's face. Well, next thing you know, you're being served a piece of delicious summons.
Well, this was the feeling I experienced. I'm enjoying my piece of scrumptious summons from NoiseCash white-uniformed algorithm now.
The first infraction caused me to be grounded for less than 24 hours. I'm not exactly sure how long that was as I didn't keep track but it was less than 24 hours.
Today, I'd gotten another summons. Again, not sure how long this current spanking will last.

I will not Write an Article Today

You read right. Today, I have decided not to write an article. It's not because I'm not in the mood nor because I'm feeling lazy. For once, I have decided not to write not because of either reason.
I'm sure you must be curious as to what other reasons I have for not writing. No? Not curious? Doesn't matter. I'm gonna share it anyway. I want my readers to know why I don't want to write today. I'm accountable for that.
Here comes the Reasons
1. Driving was involved
I've had a long day. Today was an outing with the family to an orchard for some needed work. And this long day involved quite a bit of driving. Those of you who drive know that it can be very tiring. Driving demands attention, especially on trunk roads where there is on-coming traffic and crazy drivers overtaking on either side of the road. Add some sun shining into the car and you know how tiring that can get.
Anyway, once at the destination, I did a perimeter inspection of the orchard to ensure that all is well. Yup, we were there to have a look at the semi-neglected orchard. The next step was to start collecting and or salvaging any fruits left for us to gather after nature has had its share.
2. Physical work was involved
Guess what? No orchard visit is complete without some physical work. Enter the *token* physical work. Today was a hot day. Needless to say, this brief physical work was done under the *scorching* sun. I am quite certain I have my full dose of Vitamin D for the day. Maybe enough to last the whole week or maybe a whole month.
I haven't been out much in a while and obviously not in the greatest of shape to be in any physical work. That token physical work was just enough to clear some overgrown grass and bushes...in one small area. LOL. As long as I only look at that small area and not at the other untouched areas, I was quite satisfied and happy.
Drenched in sweat, I call it quits and yeah, it was time to "Load 'em up, Move 'em out!". That was that. We left with some fruits.
3. More Driving was involved
Tired but still needed to drive to get home. Almost two hours' worth.
We had stopped halfway on the way back to get some grilled chicken chop. Opted not to dine in. Upon reaching home, I was tired and hungry. Didn't take long to finish my dinner, rested a while on my favorite chair. After which, I took my shower. The shower had given me a craving for something sweet which I gladly proceed to satisfy. Headed to the freezer and grabbed a chocolate-coated ice-cream popsicle. That hit the spot. Ice cream always does. Right? That is why it is an *essential* food group in my book.
4. I don't have images to share
Duly satisfied, I'm now sitting down, in front of my computer and was thinking whether to write or not to write an article for today. I mean, I *do have a topic* I have wanted to write about. And I do *have another completed article* with **10 NFT giveaways** to be published after another round of review. But I thought, heck with it. I'm not gonna force myself to do something I enjoy doing. I *will* take a break.
And now you know the reasons why I have decided not to write today. I hope you don't mind. Have a great remaining of the day.

A smartBCH Torpedo: How to get one of the first NFTs on the smartBCH sidechain

Fancy owning a smartBCH Torpedo?
Today, the NFT collector's bug had bitten me again. I have been collecting NFTs for a while now. Long enough to have collected some gems and lots of junk. I'm sure many of you who are NFT collectors know what I'm talking about. Some are expensive junk, and some are cheaper ones. Nonetheless, still junk.
On the bright side, I do have some decent value gems in my collection. Whether these will appreciate in value more in the future is left to be seen. I'd consider the NFT collection craze is still at its infancy, and hence still a good idea to hold on to what I have.
In my passive search for NFTs, I have come across some good projects and a couple that I still follow to this date. I'll write about them in upcoming articles.
This leads me to the latest that had caught my attention. If you ask me if the art is highly collectible, I'd tell you that there isn't much to shout about in terms of the art department. It's clean and to some, it may look more like a large-sized icon than anything else. To me, it is crisp and easily identifiable. I like it.
The question then is why on earth would I collect them if they are no Monets or Van Goghs, right?
Good question. In short, it's not always about the art as much as what it represents. It is hard to put a value on the **intrinsic** value. With this in mind, let me share with you my view.
My View
I'll share with you my reasons for collecting these. Do note that I'm not a financial advisor and this is not financial advice. Spend or purchase at your own risk. I do advise that you do your own research as much as possible before going into it.
I will go through **3 main points** that had me interested in Torpedos.
1. Pioneering Value
This is one of the first, if not the first NFT launched on the smartBCH sidechain. **Being the first** or one of the first gives it a first-mover *advantage*. It will also have a '*homeground*' advantage as more people supporting the smartBCH chain in the initial stage will be familiar with it. There's an affinity to the familiar and that will bode well for the project.
2. Scarcity
We are all too familiar with this. Generally speaking, the less something is, the more valuable it will be. In the NFT sphere, Torpedos definitely fits in the scarce category.
In my chat with the owner, he mentioned that there will be **ONLY a total of 500** **Torpedo** **NFTs** released in the initial stage and **No More than 1000 in total** that will ever be minted. These will be released through 5 generations initially with each generation having 100 NFTs. Generations 6 to 10 may follow at a later stage, also with 10 copies per generation. That's it.
Generation 1 has just been launched and at the time of writing, there were only a total of *45 First Generation Torpedos left*!
3. Ease of Acquisition
The third point is the ease of acquisition or more precisely, the difficulty of acquisition.
It is my belief that the more difficult it is to get something, the greater the opportunities for those who manage to get it.
This is because, once the acquisition barrier is no longer there, it may be more difficult for you and me to acquire it. I have experienced this in some of the NFT games that I'd played. As more players come in, acquiring 'assets' has gotten more difficult due to the increased competition. This is actually a good indication for the project and for those who'd gotten in when it was tough going.
My Torpedoes Purchase
I have been anticipating this ever since I first heard about it a few days ago. Needless to say, once I found out that Torpedos were listed for sale, I proceeded to acquire my own Torpedos. It was not a straightforward process in getting my Torpedos. I'll walk through the steps involved.

The first thing you'll notice upon landing on this page are the Torpedos neatly lined up as seen in the image below:
Besides the Torpedoes displayed, you will also see the **instructions** on how to proceed to get one or more Torpedos of your own.

Clicking the Torpedo smartBCH NFT Marketplace Link will take you to the purchase page. https://ba.net/torpedo/
The page will look like this:
Note: "Lootbox" simply means you will purchase one random TORPEDO NFT. The Generation 1 NFTs had mint numbers running from 1 to 100. You will get any number between that that has not already been sold. It's randomized.
Buying Process
Once you have decided which of the Lootbox you would like to purchase, just click on the "Buy Now NFT" button located below it. This will pop open your MetaMask wallet. Just follow the instructions to complete the purchase. Once your purchase order has gone through the chain Transaction Confirmations, it is complete.
Adding the NFT to MetaMask
After the purchasing process, you will not see the Token or NFT on your MetaMask. You'll need to manually add that to MetaMask. If you're not familiar with MetaMask or adding Tokens manually, I suggest you read this article first. Once you've done that, these are the information you'll need to add the Torpedo Token/NFT to MetaMask: https://read.cash/@Just1dood/smartbch-importing-the-desktop-metamask-to-the-mobile-metamask-wallet-8c2dcd69
On the Mobile MetaMask Wallet:
**Token Address**: 0x74d731274c6c4ce78e070357160255a2596da71d
**Token Symbol**: TORPEDO
**Token of Precision**: 0
On the Desktop MetaMask.
Your experience may be slightly different than on mobile. The terms are worded differently. Also, for desktops, once you have input the Token Contract Address, the Token Symbol will auto-populate.
**Token Contract Address**: 0x74d731274c6c4ce78e070357160255a2596da71d
**Token Symbol**: TORPEDO
**Token Decimal**: 0
You will not be able to view NFTs on the desktop version of MetaMask. This feature is only available on the Mobile MetaMask. There is another step to complete in order for you to view your NFT collection on the Mobile MetaMask.
Torpedo NFT ID
Before we proceed to set that up, we'll need to find out your **Torpedo NFT ID**. To do that we need to go to the Torpedo NFT Wallet Manager. https://ba.net/torpedo/nft/wallet.html
View all Torpedo NFTs
Once there, click on the "View All TORPEDO NFTs" and sign in when your MetaMask wallet pops up. You will then see an indicator showing you which of the 100 NFTs you have just purchased. If it points to #45 (for example), then that is the **Torpedo NFT ID** you'd just bought. **Remember & note** ***your*** **number**.
We next head over to your mobile MetaMask wallet to set up your NFT so that your collection can be viewed there.
Add NFT to MetaMask Wallet
On your mobile, select the smartBCH account, the one you have added the Torpedo Token to earlier. You'll notice that next to the TOKENS tab, there's an NFTs tab. Select that tab.
After clicking on the "+ADD NFTs" link, you'll be brought to a page to complete two fields. The adding process is almost the same as the Adding Tokens steps earlier.
Fill in the fields as follows:
**Address**: 0x74d731274c6c4ce78e070357160255a2596da71d
**ID**: *Fill in the your Torpedo NFT ID number here*
For the **ID** field, enter the **Torpedo NFT ID** you have noted earlier (for the current Generation 1 sales, only ID 1 to 100 exists). In the example, we'd used 45. If by happenstance that 45 was also your Torpedo NFT ID, then enter 45 in the ID field.
Once both fields have been completed, click **ADD**.
(Note: You may need to click "ADD" twice)
You should then be able to see your NFT listed then. Something like below:
If you click on the NFT image, you will see the Torpedo NFT # in the pop-up. Well, that's it.

I have no idea if these NFTs will be worth more in the future. I sure hope the *novelty* of being sort of a **Genesis NFT** on the smartBCH blockchain will make them a sought-after collector's NFTs, especially considering that there will **NEVER be more than 1000 in existence** and **only 100 for the genesis Generation 1** release!

My First USD from Upland Game

It has been a while since I'd written about the Upland Game. This game has been one of my first Blockchain games and is the longest game I have ever played. It has been almost one year since the day that I'd bought my first **virtual property** in the **Upland Metaverse**. https://discover.upland.me/UplandDood
For the last quarter of last year, I'd spent a whole lot of time on the game, doing research in real-world properties in anticipation of city releases. It's not an exaggeration to say that it was a full-time research job. I am glad I had invested that kind of time in my research. Less than a year later, it is starting to pay off.
For those who have no idea what this game is about, let me offer a brief introduction. Think of a boardgame that everybody knows - **Monopoly**. Then expand that thought into a Metaverse on the **EOS blockchain** with properties based on *real-world* addresses. Further, think of collections as being certain neighborhoods, streets, and attractions. Just like the Monopoly boardgame, you build your net worth by flipping or trading. You now have a basic picture of the game.
The game had initially started with one City, the **Genesis city**, which is **San Francisco**. It then moved on to open up **Fresno**, then **Manhattan**. To date, a **total of 12 cities** have been launched in the Upland Metaverse, all located in the **United States**.
Property-to-USD
Three months ago, I'd tried to withdraw some USD as a result of a few property sales. This was around 7 months after the **Property to USD** feature was launched.
Prior to that, all property sales were transacted in a **UPX**, an **in-game utility token** that can only be used inside the game and cannot be withdrawn. The reason for the developer for doing this is to not run afoul of any country's law that may deem the token financial security.
The Property to USD feature was initially launched in Beta with a selected few players testing the feature starting in November 2020. Subsequently, I was included in the second batch of testers. This feature has now been fully released but *new* players have a locked-in period of 6 months before they have access to the feature. This is to prevent abuse.
First withdrawal attempt
My first attempt at withdrawing was met with a roadblock. For the "Fiat Out" process, Upland had decided to collaborate with **Linden Lab** and use **Tilia Pay**, a platform that Linden Lab had developed for the Second Life virtual economy.
In order to take full advantage of this feature, I'll have to fulfill a **KYC** (Know Your Customer) certification. I'd missed the deadline for the first request for this and that had caused some hiccups that took almost a month to work out.
Finally, a few days ago I'd received an email from **Upland Support** that all was good to go. I'd like to give credit to the **Upland Support team for their first-class assistance** in getting my issue sorted out promptly once I had reached out to them. This has reflected well on the project and is a confidence booster for me in my belief in the Upland game.
It's good to go
So, back to the Property to USD Beta sales. Once I have been included in the second batch of testers, I'd listed a few properties for sale in USD.
To cut a long story short, I'd managed to sell a total of 5 properties in the span of almost one month.
With the all-clear to go from Upland Support, I'd tried to submit an in-game withdrawal request on 18 September for the amount of $23.60.
Almost immediately an email was sent to inform me that a withdrawal was initiated. I'll just have to wait for the good news.
Two days later, on 20 September, Tilia Pay emailed me that the withdrawn amount is *on its way*!
You'll notice that for this service, Tilia Pay charges a 5% Payout Fee.
Money Received
On the morning of 21 September, when I launched the game app, I saw a notice that says "FIAT WITHDRAWAL SUCCESS".
I then proceeded to check my email, I was greeted by the pleasant surprise of "WITHDRAWAL COMPLETE"!
One Last Step to Verify
Only one more step left for me to do to verify the withdrawal. I then proceeded to my recipient account to check. Yes! Success! It's in my account. What a sigh of relief. I can now safely sell in Fiat and withdraw into my designated account.
Profit from the Sales?
The total cost of acquiring the 5 properties that I had sold was close to 8000 UPX. The cost of UPX is approximately 1,000 UPX to $1.
A total sale of USD$23.60 gives an approximate 195% profit in total or about 180% after taking into consideration Tilia Pay's payout fee.
That is not too shabby for a property trading game that is still yet to reach its full potential.
What's next?
There is a reason why I haven't sold off more of my properties. I'm in it for the long haul. I'm not looking for fast flips. The game has been growing steadily. In a short year, I've seen how much the game has grown both in terms of features and also the number of quality of players it has attracted. Best of all, the developer listens to feedback.
I believe the best is yet to come for the game. Thus far, we are only talking about U.S. city launches. There have not been any International cities launched yet. This is something to look forward to.

Am I Ready for the Upgrade?

The recent events surrounding the smartBCH sidechain have sorta thrown a spanner into my normal clockwork schedule. A schedule that I have comfortably adjusted into and that has been part and parcel of my life for the past one year or so.
This smartBCH sidechain has intrigued me so much so that it has successfully taken chunks of my time from my other interests.
This chain of events has again caused me to think about time and **how much of it is at my disposal**. In the grand scheme of things, time is infinite. But when you put it under the microscope of *daily* use, it is finite. It is this finite use that has put me in a dilemma. I can only have so many good things in a day, no matter how good they are. I need to prioritize and that often means something has to give.
Sometimes, this is an easy decision. Sometimes, it is not.
Regardless of whether it is easy or not an easy decision, what is forthcoming in the immediate future is the need to relook at my time management. It is time for me to dust off that long-forgotten "*Urgent vs Important*" time management quadrant tool and put it to good use.

Tick Tock
Why am I writing this?
A big part of my online life is taken up by my activities relating to Read.Cash, Noise.Cash and now, to a lesser extent, Publish0x, and a few games that I play.
Reading, commenting, and writing takes a large slice of the time in the activities mentioned above. Whatever time that's left goes into taking care of Noise.Cash posts. Being a responsible channel owner would entail posting topics related to the channel for my readers. The depth and quality of engagement in these two platforms alone may end up being equivalent to a full-time job's time demand. Maybe some of you can identify with that.
Now, consider this - *add* the time demand of recent smartBCH activities into the equation. Without going into the minute details of time spent for each, can you see how that can mess up my schedule? If I choose to get more involved in the tokens listed on the smartBCH chain, the obvious DYOR part is not an option to be ignored. DYOR means more time is needed. After which, if I do plan to support the project, that would mean understanding and performing some transactions. All of these involve time.
And it was precisely these that had taken time from my clockwork schedule in the last week or two. Initially, it was workable but as time progresses, I have come to the point where I need to whip out the Time Management matrix to do a quick analysis to see what needs to give way.
At the Crossroads to ...
I am now at that crossroads. A crossroads that I can set camp to look at the options for a little while longer but in order to keep moving, I will soon have to make a decision. I have a feeling I won't be camping long at this crossroads.
*This* crossroads at *this* juncture of my life is **more significant** than just making a decision on better Time Management. The ripple effect of my decision may lead to something much bigger, and quite possibly a game-changer, taking up an even bigger slice of my time, if not most of it.
I can feel it in my bones this is the *birth* of something great. I do hope and pray that this vision will not *dissipate into oblivion* and be buried in the dreaded *graveyard of great ideas*. (S)WAG repair jobs

Some of you may have noticed that my "Written by 'date'" was missing from my last two articles.
That is because I have exhausted my articles stock from my Article Bank. In actual fact, I do still have a few articles in stock but those weren't the right time to publish yet. And since it's the weekend, I'll post something lighter.
The "S" in SWAG
I'm certain you would have noticed the "S" in the SWAG was in parenthesis. Let's start with that.
The familiar explanation/definition/acronym for SWAG is **Scientific Wise Ass Guess**. It can also mean Stupid Wise Ass Guess or a few other similar explanations for this acronym.
For what I'm about to share, my experience wouldn't qualify it as either **Scientific** or **Stupid**. Maybe **Smart** would come close and that is in no way a self-praise.
The Story
The need for SWAG started in the morning. The sun was out in full force. At that time, it was. The sky has since changed moody but that's beside the point.
The sun was out and I was running out of shirts to wear. The logical next step would be to do laundry. We normally do laundry on the weekends anyways. The standard auto-pilot muscle memory for carrying out this task was put into motion.
The final step was to push the start button to get the washing started. About half an hour later, the washing machine was emitting a string of beeps and then stopped. I assume it has gone through one wash and spin as there was no residue of detergent on them.
I sprung into action to diagnose the issue. You know - the standard non-technical troubleshooting that we all know how to do (I had learned this from operating Windows for so many years).
Open the lid
Close the lid
Turn on the machine
Fingers crossed
It started filling the tub with water. A relief. I then closed the lid. It didn't like that. It agreed to fill a few more splashes of water and then beeped again and stopped. This time I noticed her cry for help. It spelled "E9-5".
Any idiot with a connection to the internet would know to put that into Google to find answers. Of course, a slightly smarter idiot would add "Toshiba" (the name of the washing machine brand) and after the "E9-5", the word "error" in the search bar.
Google kindly returned some much-needed information from which in one of them, I have found the following:
My heart sank when I saw the "Contact warranty or repair unit". My urgent need for clean shirts nudged me to not give up and do some SWAG. My hope was that it was the Buoy's (Float's) fault. I have no idea how that works. But I thought maybe if the issue was because of the float, and that it has gotten stuck somewhere inside the belly of this machine, I could try to free it from its captivity. Equipped with what I know best...I gave the machine a semi-violent shake, lay my hand on it, and say a short prayer.
On the safe side and in case this didn't work, I'd reduced all the Wash, Rinse, Spin cycles to the minimum settings. If it didn't work, we can still hang the clothes to dry.
With the lid opened, I restarted the machine. It had started filling the tub with water. It kept on filling way past the level I have set on the machine. I now suspect that it must be a Buoy/Float issue. I then closed the lid. Thankfully, the machine didn't throw a tantrum. It went ahead without a fuss and completed the whole washing, rinsing, and spinning cycles half an hour later.
Problem solved. The clothes have now been hung out to dry. After writing this, I'll do a 'dry' run on the machine with our normal wash settings. I want to see if it will still give out the same error setting and stop functioning. If not, then the issue must have been solved. If it has been, then the shake has given the machine an extended lifespan.
The Lesson
Despite what we think of Google, it is a great companion. Without being able to narrow the issue down, I'd have no idea what the issue was with the machine.
Without doing some Wise Ass Guess, I wouldn't have gotten the machine to work. Granted this doesn't always work but sometimes, like this time, it did.
Now I understand why smacking, shaking, kicking is an instinctive response to fixing things! LOL.

The DeFi in MyDefiPet - Does Your Pet Earn You Crypto? Mine does.

A few days back, I'd written about an alternative game similar to Axie that I've started playing. I'd started playing this game on 5 September, which means I've been playing it for almost two weeks now. https://read.cash/@Just1dood/my-axie-alternative-lets-go-d800bb82
Getting Started
Ever since I started, I have been playing it on a daily basis. Initially, it was to get the proper setup going.
These initial steps involve:
Buying an egg in the in-game **Shop**
Putting the egg in the **Incubator**
Hatching the egg in the **Incubator**
Placing the newborn pet in the complimentary **Cage** ( you can buy better ones from the **Shop**)
From then on, it's mostly **Feeding** the pet to level up
That's pretty much the gist of what's needed to get started. And until a few days ago, most of my time was spent on planting, feeding, and leveling up the pet.
If you like, you can continue to purchase a few more eggs to hatch. My advice is to get a feel for the game before you do so. You need to know how to manage your resources and your pet's growth rate. It's a resource (planting & feeding) vs time (how fast you can level up your pet & also how much you can afford for better facilities) challenge.
The DeFi Feature Launched
As I have said, that was what I have been doing and it was the few things I was able to do in the game. Until **14 September**, that is. On that date, the **DeFi feature** in the game was put into motion. Players could now send their pets on a Hunt (i.e. Stake their pets). **The Hunting (Staking)** period is 30 days.
The in-game Hunting Rules were as follows:
Pet sent to Hunt will collect Food & DPET.
Pets sent to Hunt will be locked for a duration of 30 days. And during this period, the pet will not be able to perform any activities.
Recall of Pets sent to Hunt will not be possible until after the Hunting period of 30 days is over.
Option to harvest DPET collected by Pets on Hunt anytime.
Only able to send a maximum of 3 pets to the hunt
I had started with 2 pets **Hunting** on this feature's launch date. After sending these 2 pets, I've decided I have wanted to send another. Therefore, I ended up purchasing one more pet to send for **Hunting**. Altogether, I'd sent 3 pets in total to Hunt (Stake).
Hunting Results
As of the time of writing, I have accumulated a substantial amount of Food. Though I have not compared it to the normal harvesting, I believe it is much more than normal and it contributes towards feeding other pets still in Cages. I couldn't quantify the amount of Food collected during the Hunt as there was no in-game record of it.
During this same period, my 3 pets have collected a total of **0.21053 DPET**. I'd just checked the value of a $DPET. It's trading at **$2.13 each**. Not much to shout about but these 3 pets are earning me something.
Concluding Thoughts
I guestimate that at the end of the Staking period, I will at most get 2 DPETs. Not enough to buy an Egg. That is not the point at the moment. I'm looking at the longer-term for this game. I look forward to other features as they become available.
Meanwhile, though it is repetitive, I'm still enjoying playing the game. It is still new and the discovery process is thus far enjoyable. If this game does take off, I do believe that these pets will be worth money, especially if the DPET value increases. I for one hope that it will be as popular, if not more than Axie Infinity.
As cliched as it is, time will tell. I'm in no hurry as my Pets are out there making me money as we speak.

SmartBCH: Importing the Desktop MetaMask to the Mobile MetaMask Wallet.

Without a wallet, you can't buy anything. This is true in real life. Even with a wallet, if it's empty, you still can't buy anything. Unless of course, you use a credit or debit card. Technically speaking, those also have "wallets" that record your transactions.
Through the recent past few events, I have discovered that in the Blockchain sports, I've needed to be proficient in the Hurdles event. I have needed to keep up to pace. Too slow and I'll tumble into oblivion. Keep up to pace and I'll be rewarded with invaluable knowledge.
Hurdle 1
One of the important and first things that needed to be done when I started learning about **smartBCH** is that *I need a wallet*. Without one, I can do diddly. This was the case when the $EBEN was on pre-sale. For the life of me, I couldn't get the wallet connected to get on the bandwagon. That wagon has since long left and an opportunity gone.
For me, the key takeaway from that was - I should have been *more persisten*t in getting it to work, including asking for help until it worked.
In the end, I did manage to get my MetaMask wallet connected to Coinflex. It was relatively smooth sailing from then on.
Hurdle 2
There's always something new to be learned in the blockchain world. Yesterday, I found out that the mobile version of the **MetaMask wallet supports NFTs**. I'd always thought that the mobile wallet was just like the desktop version so this was something new to me.
Last week I had tried to sync my mobile MetaMask with my desktop one but to no avail. It didn't work. I had no inkling as to what went wrong and again, I half-heartedly have given up. Until yesterday, that was when I found out that the mobile version can display NFTs.
Recalling the lesson learned from Hurdle 1, I had decided to give it a try until I get it to work. And this time, I have decided to get some help when I get stuck and will continue to get help until I overcome the hurdle.
Fresh off launching the new **CandyMan project** she was involved in, @carisdaneym2 was gracious enough to guide me through when I contacted her. Importing to Mobile
I will not go into downloading and the initial setup of both your desktop and mobile MetaMask. You can Google and will find many such tutorials. In brief, there are 3 ways you can start a mobile MetaMask wallet:
Register a new one
Sync with your current desktop extension
Import to your mobile MetaMask using the *Secret Recovery Phrase* (Seed Phrase).
What I had wanted to do was to import my existing desktop wallet to my mobile wallet, so options 2 & 3 would be the way to go.
Though there were a few guides on this, it was not clear or complete enough for me. I have wanted to do a "Sync with extension" as that seems like the easiest route to take. As I proceeded to follow the steps to sync them, I out that the option is temporarily disabled. That left one more option and that is to import using the *Secret Recovery Phrase*. Here are the steps that I'd used:

To start with, you should have an existing desktop MetaMask that you're already using. Open your desktop MetaMask in a tab if you like. Regardless, once you have opened your desktop MetaMask, look for the "Account Options" three dots at the upper right-hand corner.
And since we're talking about importing your smartBCH MetaMask account, make sure that your desktop MetaMask is on the Smart CBH network then follow the instructions per the image below. If you have not added this network to your desktop MetaMask, I suggest you check out carisdayneym2's How-To article on this. Once you have copied down your *Secret Recovery Phrase*, head on over to your mobile MetaMask app and follow the instructions below:
Once you've clicked "IMPORT", you should receive an "Account Successfully Imported!" message. The new account will have an "*Imported*" label next to it.
Setting Up SmartBCH Network on your Mobile MetaMask Wallet
Since this is not a smartBCH account on your mobile wallet yet, you'll need to set that up.
Refer to the image for details:
Details for Item 6 in the image above for your ease of copy & paste.
***Network Name:*** *SmartBCH*
***RPC Url:*** *https://smartbch.fountainhead.cash/mainnet* *or* *https://smartbch.greyh.at* *(either of the two)*
***Chain ID:*** *10000*
***Currency Symbol:*** *BCH*
***Block Explorer URL:*** *https://www.smartscan.cash*
After completing and clicking "Add", you should have something like this:

However, when you look at your SmartBCH wallet, you'll only see your BCH balance shown. If you have other Tokens on your desktop MetaMask, it's not reflected here. No worries. We proceed to the next step. Adding the Tokens manually.
For most of the Tokens, the most important detail is the "Token Address". Most Tokens will auto-populate the remaining fields after the "Token Address" has been entered.
To find the "Token Address", the easiest way is to navigate to the marketcap.cash site. https://www.marketcap.cash/
Once you're there, click on the icon shown in the image above. Then copy into the "Token Address" field mentioned above. The two remaining fields should auto-populate. Then, click the **ADD TOKEN** button.
All Done!
Go back SmartBCH account and you should see your token reflected there. Something similar to the image below.
Do the same to add other SmartBCH tokens into your mobile MetaMask wallet.
That's it. I hope this has been helpful for you. I'm reproducing my experience above. And I'm doing my best to recall the steps involved. *It is meant as a guide and not necessarily a manual. Do be careful to thoroughly do your own research before proceeding.*

It's the middle of the week. I hope everyone has settled quite comfortably into the week. A few more hours, the scale would have tipped towards a rush for the weekend. Friday is within reach and plans for Saturdays and Sundays are already brewing by then.
It has been an abnormal week for me. I believe that is true for many here and at NoiseCash. It's been unusually quiet.
Mondays didn't hit me as much but when the quietness carried over into the whole of Tuesdays, I started thinking about the reason.
As a result, I came up with two. See if you agree with me.
School's in Session
I understand that quite a large population here are from the Philippines and I wouldn't be surprised a majority consists of mothers. What has this part contribute to the sudden quietness I have experienced?
My understanding is that this week is the start of a schooling "semester?" in that country. As we all know, what this means is that many will be busy getting their children settled in school. I suspect, it may take another week for this to normalize and the buzz here and at NoiseCash to pick up again.

The other reason and one that I am personally experiencing is the airdrops season!
Ever since the beginning of last weekend, and all throughout the weekend, way into current time, I have been very engrossed in the happenings in the smartBCH sidechain.
For me, it had all started with the $EBEN presale which I had missed due to my inability to set up the bridge to connect Metamask properly.

I had missed quite a few of the airdrops but continue to spend time learning more about these different projects and accumulating some depending on their stats and utility.
What's been taking up my time?
Quite a bit of my time was spent figuring out how to configure wallets to work with the different tokens. I am *highly bullish* on the **smartBCH sidechain**. The community is strong and helpful. This makes learning so much more easier and fun. There is tremendous potential here.

An autopsy: Failed Memes...ARG...!!!

The last few days have been sorta a roller coaster ride. I ended up not spending much time on ReadCash nor NoiseCash, though not necessarily bad. I was distracted by the happenings in the **smartBCH sidechain**. It was a good distraction. *I'm learning new things*. And it has been **an eye-opener and exciting**, to say the least.
One of the...actually, two of these distractions were meme contests. The first one was organized by **BitcoinCash Argentina (ARG)** and the immediate next one was by **Knuth** (**KTH**).
I'd heard about the ARG meme contest in their discord channel on *11 September 2021*.
*Eleven hours later*, the contest was announced on Twitter in the following post:
In the hours between the preview announcement and the actual announcement, I'd started *thinking, researching, planning, and completing the memes*.
Though I don't know much about this token, I did check on basic information such as price and maximum supply. I was driven by the fact that *a country's name was on this Token. Something that no one should take lightly*. To me, this could be something big even though the maximum token supply was substantially big.

The First Meme Entry: Don't Do It!
The first meme I had in mind was a tease, where *on 22 May 2010, Laszlo Hanyecz* had spent 10,000 Bitcoins on two pizzas. You see, *we will not make history as Laszlo did*. He is a *hero* in many regards. If it wasn't for him, we probably wouldn't have today's cryptocurrency growth.
So then, we are no Laszlo, and hence the first meme then is to make sure ***those who bought ARG shouldn't be a monkey and spend them on pizzas***!
The Second Meme Entry: ARG...!!!
After I was quite satisfied with the first meme, I proceeded to work on my second one.
This time, I have wanted to ***play with the token's name - ARG***. I was thinking about how to get this into everyone's mind? And since the first one I'd used a monkey, I thought why not use another monkey to convey the message.
This was when I came up with the following meme idea:
I think the message was simple and clear.
The Results
I was quite upbeat and thought that at least one would make it into the top 10 winner's list.
Apparently not. Once I saw the winner's list, I was extremely disappointed. Disappointed not because I was beaten by much better memes (although a couple of them were very good), but by some that were not funny and/or with fewer "likes" and "retweets".
I figured, if those who were judging this meme contest didn't get the joke, then a history lesson is in place. I don't believe the need to explain jokes in the meme. That's just me.
I had taken snapshots of both my "*Don't Do It!*" and "*ARG...!!!*" Tweet results *after the winners were announced.*
When I checked my "*Don't Do It!*" meme, I had **11 Retweets, 1 Quote Tweet, and 16 Likes**. Not bad at all. And in fact ***more than some of the finalists***.
Out of curiosity and to find out what I'd done wrong and how far I was from the winners' results, I did some investigation a day after the contest had ended.
I **took snapshots of each winner's posts** to see what each post's Retweets, Quoted Tweets, and Likes were.
I found out that my first "***Don't Do It!***" meme in terms of RTs and Likes ***was higher than 6 of the winners****'.*
I was more surprised when I checked my "*ARG...!!!*" meme results. At the snapshot time, I had **11 Retweets, 3 Quoted Tweets, and 21 Likes**!

My Disappointment
I thought I'd missed the intention of what was required but it doesn't seem so. It is this point that is difficult for me to swallow.
I will not make a big fuss in the group's Telegram channel. I'm writing here to put my thoughts into words. Hopefully, from here I can learn what had gone wrong and a record for myself to improve in the future.
I can understand the Telegram group admin/owner being swarmed with thousand and one things to do and plenty of messages to reply to. Multitasking is a b1tch! I can empathize. Mixed with lack of sleep, it is a slippery slope to making unwise decisions.
*It is noble of the project to decide to award all participants with something but the damage was already done*. **Unless the service recovery gives a BIG WOW** factor, it is ***a day late and a dollar short***.
From my experience, a **FIRST CLASS service recovery** can be a *better marketing tool* than the initial award. But in the end, I felt that it was an afterthought and an "*Oh, okay. We'll give you something too. Here's $0.15 for your effort.*"
Heartfelt Feedback
What I learned from this is that, if ever I were to organize something like this, it is **imperative to not change/add to the conditions once it has started**.
This was what had happened in this case.

Why is this so important? You can't move the goalposts after the game has started. **It speaks of the** ***integrity*** **of the whole process**.
Final Thoughts
Despite the disappointment, I have learned something else. It is that I'm satisfied with my product even though I'm not proficient in design apps. I'm also quite happy with how my creativity came out through these memes. My Twitter friends attested to that through their comments and separately, a friend, @MoreGainStrategiesin a DM said this after I showed him my two memes:
I have done some self-reflection after going through the above. I try to be objective in my documenting my experience. I hope if the organizer read this they will take it as constructive feedback for future improvements.
In the end, if you ask me if this is a good project, I'll say, "*Yes*". This is because of what I have stated at the beginning about Argentina. I see a need for this project. I do wish them much success. I'd initially thought of putting some money in but due to the above experience, I'll observe on the sideline for now. My sentiment may yet change. That's left to be seen. I do want to be a part of this. I really do.

Here are my thoughts:
1. It is true that "Not Financial Advice" is like "Wet Paint. Do Not Touch" signs. It provokes an opposite reaction. Yes, I'll touch that paint, if you're wondering. LOL. For me, that "Not Financial Advice" works better than a large neon sign advertising sales and discounts.
2. I'm drawn to it. I hope that not like a bug towards a campfire! LOL.
In the few days since that article, I'd gotten into two 'items' with some quick research. The results?
3. I ended being an obsessive farmer.
4 . I didn't want to be a farmer for the rest of my life.
5. I'd wanted to explore...this resulted in a post for opinions - whether to buy a SHIP or not. https://noise.cash/post/wr99gwpam76r
6. After a few hours with many people have 'hearted' the posts. Many of these did not give any reply and I kinda wondered if they've even read my post.
But it's great to have buddies that actually read and these two good buddies gave the thumbs up! The all-clear to...Go Ahead and get the SHIP already!

I can finally say, "My ship has come in!" LOL. And it was a WARSHIP. Beware, pirates!
Now, how often can you get a ship at more than half price off? Fortunately, I'd made it in time to the shipyard to take advantage of this offer. Glad those shipyard workers and builders rushed it for me.
Here's taking a closer look at the Ship, after it has been built and ready for delivery to the designated harbor.
I must give the builders credit. It didn't take long at all to see my Ship sailing into the harbor. Displayed spanking new with MakiMak as the first officer & szbarnaus already onboard! LOL.
Since having it, I'd taken it out for a spin and tested it on a few pirate ships and lived to tell about it...in another article. LOL.
I'll end by saying that after a few battles, I'd managed to get some PEARLs! Yes, not too bad.
Not Financial Advice
We're back to this caution again. It was due to reading a few other articles over the weekend that I'd ended up thinking about this SHIP business. When this snapshot was taken on 6 September 2021, it was one of the **top 5 blockchain games according to dappradar.com in terms of the last 24-hour player volume**. It's *ranked at #8 at 7-day volume and #11 at 30-day volume*.
Again, be cautioned that this is "**Not Financial Advice**" although this game is touted as a GameFi application. And it's very raw and in its infancy. It was only launched on 26 August 2021.
Considering that it's such a young game and being able to shoot up to the top 5 overall Blockchain Games position is no easy feat. I have not done all the research on how they have been able to achieve that as I'd not noticed a lot of marketing efforts.
It could all be due to word of mouth or through their Twitter account. The strange thing is that their Twitter account only has 4k plus followers but 29K plus players recorded at DappRadar.com. It makes me wonder if there is plenty of multi-accounting going on here.
I suspect that may be the case as one account is limited to only 1 ship at the moment. Furthermore, there is a 55% discount for ship purchases until 9 September 2021 or until it reaches a volume of 50,000 ships.
As of the time of writing, there are only a few thousand ships left of the 50k quota.
Do Your Own Research
That's why I'd stated the disclaimer in the above paragraph. **It is risky. Do your own research.**
And again, as I'd shared my personal experience at the start of this article, we are attracted to the "Wet Paint" signs. I hope that for me personally when I touch it, it's already dried!
(*Update note on 13 September 2021. I haven't played much of this game but do go in occasionally to pick fights with other ships. The game is still very new and I don't set any high expectations on it. However, if it does take off, at least I do own a ship in this game.*)
My Adventure begins
I won't lie to you. This ship does give me some excitement. It is as if I'm sailing with this app into the unknown. Only time will tell if the ship will come back in with a cargo full of booty!

Up late again
I'm sitting at an odd hour. It's way past midnight. It's not that I couldn't sleep. I'm very sleepy cause last night I'd stayed up until 2 AM for the same purpose.
What purpose is that? None other than Airdrops or drops for short.
Regardless of whether it is for a paid airdrop or a free airdrop, **the emotion involved in trying to grab the low mint or to be qualified for a token is inexplicable**.
I can share with you two personal examples.
First Drop - Not Free
The one I stayed up for yesterday had left a bitter taste in my mouth. This project had started in their Telegram group that their latest MusicNFT drop is scheduled for local time 2 AM. These are not free drops. I have to purchase these NFTs.
Naturally, I stayed up for it since I've been following this project for a while. When it was announced around 11 PM local time that the drop will happen at 2 AM at a given neftyblocks.com link, I've decided to wait and hope to grab a low number mint. For me, that means anything below 5. In the past, I'd managed to grab mints #1 and 2.
The frustrating thing was that when I checked at 1.11 AM, I noticed the lowest available was no longer starting from #1. It was already at #4, which meant someone had already started minting.
I then sent a DM to the owner of the Project and asked why this was so. I did not get any reply.
Then I went to check the drop site two minutes later at 1.13 AM. Now the lowest available mint was down to #5. However, the drop was still not opened for minting yet with the countdown clock with 46M 37S to go.
By 1.23 AM, the lowest mint had dropped to #7. It was at this time that I've decided to put out a public message in the group asking if there was another whitelisting for people to be eligible for an earlier drop.
It was almost 2 AM that I'd gotten a reply from the owner stating that he'd made the same NFT available at another newly listed shop link.
Though he had apologized, that didn't sit quite well with me. If this was such a big project, how could anyone make such a big boo-boo? This has left a big question mark on my mind on my trust in this project.
I think it may be time for me to not 'invest' anymore into this project.
Second Drop - It's Free
Tonight, while sitting here, I'm waiting for another drop! This time for a token drop. It was by chance that I came across this Telegram group. And because when I joined at around midnight, the group was close to hitting 2000 members. Once that number is hit, there will be a drop.
It was only a few minutes after I joined that the group reached the goal of 2000 members which means an airdrop is imminent and was announced swiftly.
The airdrop will happen at 3 AM local time. Oh well, so much for sleep. So, I thought I might as well do some writing to share about my experience.
At this point, the time is 1.45 AM, still another 1 hour and 14 minutes to go. I hope I can stay awake. The thing I do for airdrops.
This has better be worth it. I'll take a break here and continue grinding on the games I play while I wait.
Once the airdrop has been completed, I'll continue to write to share with you the details.
I had finally gotten to bed around 3.30 AM after submitting my address at the 3 AM drop time. When I woke up and checked, the token was already in my wallet.
I have received 50 $KTH tokens. What a happy feeling!
The Power of Possibilities
That 50 KTH is not worth much. It's less than $0.20. To many, it's chump change. Despite this fact, many were happy to have received it and more were not happy for missing it for one reason or another.
Why are people so excited at getting $0.20 worth of Tokens? It is the same reason mentioned by the admin above. The **belief that the price "will increase soon"**. It is **the power of possibilities**. Hope for the moon. Rationally thinking, even if it goes to the moon, 50 tokens won't make much of a difference. I can't explain the feeling or the emotion felt. It is irrational but it sure felt great. You can tell how strong this emotion is when you read through some of the comments of those who weren't successful in the drop.
Let's keep our sanity
I was initially quite worked up emotionally at the first incidence. But then, it is not the end of the world. There are so many other projects I can lend my support to. So, why get so worked up over this one. Right? I'll move on and probably won't get any more from this project. Maybe. Maybe not.
Final few words
If you are planning on spending more time around these airdrops or dabbling a little more in cryptocurrencies - I have one piece of advice for you. Be careful of scammers. They are everywhere. **NEVER share your SEED words or phrases**, even if they seemingly come from legit sources. There is NEVER a need to share your SEED words. Sharing our SEED word is like giving someone your ATM card and also the pin number.

My Axie Alternative: Let's Go!

The blockchain game world is filled with many games but not many are good enough to be under my radar for a few reasons.
Why I don't play certain games
I'll list a few of my reasons:
It's not a game I'd play
If it's not a game that I'd play, it means two things.
One is that I'm the odd one out. I'm the only one that doesn't think it's worth my time playing. In which case, it may still be a successful game that many others find it fun to play.
The other is that it is indeed a badly designed game and would not survive in the long term. If it's not an engaging and fun game, who would want to play it? It will die a natural death.
It's too complicated to figure out.
If it needs a rocket science degree to figure out how to play it, then it's not for me. I don't need another degree. I just want to play a game.
It's not a Play-to-Earn
This is the buzzword nowadays. I mean, the pandemics have made us to be more resilient. Many are looking towards the cyberspace to eek out a living or at least to help cover some expenses. Though it's nice to spend lots of time playing a game, if it isn't giving some returns, then what's the point?
High barriers to entry
It costs too much to start the game. This is subjective. Each of us has a different threshold as to what is too expensive to get into a game. Some may only want to get in if it's free. While others may think that a few hundred bucks may be acceptable. Case in point - getting into Axie Infinity when it was at that rate or cheaper. Now it costs at least $1000 to start.
The above are just a few points. There are many more such as is the game too new? Too few players are playing now, it may not take off, etc, etc. However, it is exactly these reasons that opportunities await. These are the risks one evaluates and takes.
Take for example the total current players. If it's low, obviously there is the risk that the game does not have the volume to make it feasible to continue developing. Although we must not forget that if the game was designed well and fun enough to keep the current volume of players engaged, its popularity will spread by word of mouth.
More players joining causing more word-of-mouth advertising for the game and pretty soon it goes viral. All of a sudden, an explosive growth for the game. By that time, the cost for entry may be higher than before it went viral.
Why do I play certain games?
Without going into details, it's pretty much the opposite of the above.
It's a game I enjoy playing
Simple to figure out even reading thick manuals
I get to earn cryptocurrency (or something of monetary value) in the game
Affordable to start playing
My Choice
A reason that has me started looking for a new game was my self-reminder that game-based NFTs can shoot up in value very fast as mentioned in my "2700% profit in 6 months! Only possible in the Blockchain World." article. This is not surprising seeing that an Axie costs between $5-$10 not that long ago. This new game that I'd started playing on 5 September 2021 is **MyDefiPet**. Aside from all the reasons mentioned above why I play certain games, the one thing that had gotten my attention was that it's regarded as the *Axie Infinity alternative*. https://mydefipet.com/
I did a little research on the hype and found out that according to the game's Tweet on 14 July 2021, it has **sold more than 1 million eggs with over 100,000 holders**.
In my opinion, those are impressive figures considering that the game was launched only a few months back in May 2021. The game token, $DPET had hit an ATH of $9.92 on 26 July 2021 according to the coingecko site record. It has retracted and as at the time of this article, the price hovers around the $4.45 mark. https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/my-defi-pet
Unlike Axie Infinity, **you only need 1 DefiPet to start playing**. I've been playing this game since 5 September. It does take some grinding to grow your pet. I'm going through the motion in the hope that sometime in the future, this pet will be worth something.
You will **need 3 $DPET to buy an egg to get started**. If this interests you, I suggest you google and find out what else is needed to get started.

Parting Thoughts
Is this a game that's right for you? I can't answer that for you. You will need to **Do Your Own Research** and do note that this is **Not Financial Advice**. I'm sharing with you my rationale for starting this game. Thus far, I am enjoying the game though I need to do the daily grind. I'm hoping that the time spent to grow these pets will be of value in the future.
I've always wanted to start playing **Axie Infinity** but the cost to start is prohibitive so I'm happy that I've **found an alternative**. And I'm banking on it being the next Axie Infinity in terms of its growth. If not, I'm happy with a game that I enjoy playing.

The Blockchain Roller Coaster Ride

If you've been dabbling in the blockchain any amount of time and regardless of whether if it's in **cryptocurrencies or Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs)**, you'll know that when it comes to **moving things around**, you're ***walking on eggshells***.
It's been a while since I do any asset moving but in the last couple of weeks due to some reasons, I have to do this...like I normally would do, bit by bit, taking my sweet time.
Some I did faster than others. Then last week, I'd made a few transactions due to **a couple of games I'd wanted to play**. I was hoping that these games will be so fun to play that people will be flocking to play them. Both games are very new and thus, high risk to put any money into them. But put money in, I did. That obviously needed transactions to do so. *Transactions mean going on that* ***Blockchain roller coaster ride***.
The Ride
I'm sure you already know this. The easiest part is to go through the motion of **copying and pasting or scanning QR codes** related to the transaction. **Once the submit button is pressed, the terror begins**. The roller coaster is almost at the highest point. The drop wasn't the scariest moment in a roller coaster ride. It's the anticipation of the drop at the other side of the peak that's feeding the terror.
Then, you reached the scariest moment.
This is the point where you clicked the **submit button**. It's a final act. There's no turning back the clock. No option to 'unclick'. Once clicked, it's FINAL.
With a pounding heart, the suspenseful, nail-biting part has just begun. It's the waiting or transaction pending period that is striking terror to the toughest of men or women.
From this point onward, it's unlike any roller coaster ride you've ridden. It'll not be the speed that terrifies you. It's the opposite. You'll be at the edge of your seat with eyes glued to the screen. But nothing seems to move. Your world has now gone into slow motion. Time has stood still. The only thing that has gone lightspeed is your mind. It has gone hyperactive and does its best to add to the suspense. These questions flood your mind:
*Did I do everything correctly?*
*How much longer is this gonna take?*
*Why is the transaction still pending?*
This last question instinctively gets you to start clicking and checking, and at the same time praying incessantly.
Checking the blockchain record to find out what's going on. Clicking on the recipient platform to check if there are any changes. You know the drill.
If after checking and getting no updates and nothing has changed, then your thoughts are no longer of those questions mentioned above. Doubts and anger have taken over.
*I MUST have done something wrong.*
*My cryptocurrency (money) is gone for good now.*
*I should have sent a small amount to test the process first.*
*I am such an idiot.*
The End of the Ride
For the most part, if you have ***been careful and alert*** in following all the needed steps, the transaction will go through. Transactions in some blockchains are faster than others. So, it depends on the blockchain you use and also the number of confirmations required before the transaction goes through.
*If all was done right, then the sent amount will arrive at the intended destination.* If it does, then you give a SIGH of relief. Prayers were answered! Hallelujah!
*I can guarantee that even if you KNOW you've done all the correct steps and you know that it WILL arrive, you will still feel a great RELIEF.*
At the start of this paragraph, I'd mentioned about ***being careful and alert*** while performing any transactions. This is **not an option** because *once you have clicked the submit button,* ***NO ONE*** *can help you recover what's been sent if you've made any mistakes.*
No DUI in Crypto
I don't think I need to mention how dangerous it is to be driving under the influence, correct?
***Do you know that attempting blockchain transactions when you are tired is just as dangerous***?
My advice is don't find out the hard way. However urgent it is to get a transaction done, if your body and/or your mind is tired, you have better stay away from such an activity. Otherwise, you will regret it. Trust me, I am living proof though I can't recall what transaction that was. LOL One of the blessings of having a short memory.
In Summary
Always be careful when transacting through the blockchain. Make sure you are highly alert. **NEVER let your mind takes control**...*you know the familiarity with a process and the autopilot muscle memory kicking in*? Yeah, recipe for disaster. Always personally scrutinize each step carefully before clicking submit.
