How long can we stand writing every day? Does writing really matter to us?
Undeniably, one of the vital skills one must be good at is writing because it is part of our daily lives. Making a to-do list for a day involves writing. Replying to messages of loved ones involves writing. Commenting on any social media app involves writing. Before going to the supermarket, we usually write the food and stuff we need to buy to avoid picking up the unnecessary ones. Before entering the office, we need to sign our names for attendance for those who don't have biometrics or whatever machines that are used for checking attendance.
Moreover, accomplishing any task in the office needs writing. Above all, writing is an important skill that all students must perfect. Making essays, thesis, feasibility studies, research papers, homework, quizzes, exams, etcetera, all involves writing. Sending love letters to your crush? It involves writing too, lol.
When you figuratively stepped foot on this platform, you have accepted the fact that you need to write as it is the main requisite here to be eligible to get some BCH rewards. Whatever interesting content is accepted, it can be personal or nonpersonal, fiction or nonfiction, crypto or non-crypto related articles. All we need to do is to be creative in writing to avoid experiencing foggy brains and writer's block.
However, not all are interested in leveling up their writing skills as they prefer to slack in their abode, procrastinate, and do nonsensical stuff. Maybe stepping up is not their goal as they are only taking writing for granted. And in writing, we have to set inspirations for us to continue fueling our passion for writing. And speaking of which, who are my inspirations in writing?
YOU, my readers, because the most important aspect in writing is to have readers. It would be worth the effort of writing if you have readers and receive beautiful feedback from them. But if there isn't, it's like wasting your money on publishing books that have no readers. Writing and reading are important to improve the ability to think. So writers need readers for them to improve their ability to write.
No matter how tough the undertakings are, we have to deal with them if writing is really our passion and we want to improve our skills. Besides, it is an aptitude that is significant not only to students or writers but to us as a person as well.
Our will to write could impact our lives in many ways and could make us a better version of ourselves. There are a lot of benefits of writing that we can't see yet because we are only thinking of the rewards, not the real essence of it.
Taking challenges in writing is the best way to surpass the hurdles and to realize the importance of it. It's not just about our passion, it's not just about the rewards, it's about the change that it could bring into our lives.
Actions speak louder than words, as the adage said. But when our system declines to speak up, writing is our powerful instrument to express the thoughts and emotions we desire to deliver to the world and people who are meant to receive the message.
Communication skills, on the other hand, can be improved through writing as it provides us the path to learn the language in writing that is important in communication, either verbal or nonverbal. We usually establish tone or mood in writing to figuratively portray the message of our content so readers could easily understand our stories. We are using punctuation so we know where to pause or stop which we can apply in our verbal communication. We can't just continue talking, we need to pause and stop when it's already the end of the conversation.
Refining our style in writing is also helpful to sharpen our imagination. For instance, in making creative writing either fiction or nonfiction, our imaginations go broad and wild at times. Our minds could travel to different eras and times and different worlds even to a fantasy world and could create a magical story.
Oftentimes, we find it hard to fulfill our wants and all we can do is fantasize like a kid. When we can't afford to visit our dream place, we can make it come true in our stories. When we can't get the real love that we want and our ideal man, we can have them in our fiction stories where we are the main character. When we can't express our anger, fear, disgust, sadness, excitement, regrets, admiration, sympathy, or whatever emotions hiding deep within, we can express them through writing.
Stories, poems, novels, life stories, essays, etcetera, are some kinds of writings where we can express our thoughts, ideas, emotions, and let our imagination flow through our fingers. We can make everything real and put ourselves into our stories to figuratively experience things or feelings that we never had before.
Time flies so slow when we enjoy our writing. We often tend to forget the real world when we include ourselves in our stories or enjoy the topic we are writing about. We become disoriented of the time and even to the stuff that we need to comply with, lol. Not unless the alarm buzz or someone's voice brings us back to the real world.
In fact, I am supposed to do my work but here I am, continuing this content I have started this morning. Lucky I am that my boss went out, giving me more time to rest and write this content.
Concludingly, I can say that consistency and determination are the keys to improve our writing skills. Accepting the writing challenges, taking the prompts, exploring new genres, are the best ways to level up our skills in writing.
And this is a challenge I accepted from @McJulez, Why Not Acrostic? Have you noticed the highlighted letter of each paragraph? If not, then read it back.
Remember that if others can make their writings improve, you can do it too. Just believe in yourself and keep writing 🙂.
Thanks for your time.
