With regards to RAM usage, if you don't specify how much memory you're willing to use, BU will attempt to guess an appropriate number. With more memory usage, you'll get better performance....

Did you delete the blockchain data before attempting BU on the same machine? ABC uses the same data folders, but has a slightly different database structure.
