We just gotta make it work. There is no stopping when you want results. Sometimes, it's exhausting, but you gotta go on. There are always temptations to give it all up, but you gotta walk, run, and fly as long as you can.
That's life. We don't have a choice whether to be born in this world or not. Just one day, we are raised into this chaotic place. We don't have a say when it comes to growing older, or dying young. We don't do anything, but our nails grow, or bodies get bigger, our minds expand, get curious and is always hungry for knowledge.
Over time, we realize this place is not a beautiful and colorful as it was written in fairy tale books. Somehow, we discover many ugly hidden truths scattered everywhere obvious, making us wonder, why didn't we notice it when we're younger?
As we age, we gradually come to accept that friends come and go, and sometimes we'll be left with none. We'll be surprised to know how lonely we can be when we're at our lowest point in life. It sounds like a morbid fact, but in the end, it makes us grateful because we get to discover the person who'll never leave us, OURSELVES. What if you leave yourself, too? Who would be left for you?
This place is not that perfect, after all. Those stories you used to read from your childhood chapters, are nowhere near reality, except the unfortunate events. There are really people like Cinderella, who experience being with evil stepmom just because she's an orphan. There are lots of Snow Whites here whom people envy so much they want her dead. I have also met lots of Jasmines who have everything, but not happy, because they felt imprisoned. They had everything but freedom.
Stop, you say? Surrender? I wonder if you'd even think of that, given the fact that life works overtime in bombarding you with new troubles to fight everyday, every hour, every minute (every second).
We used to hate taking naps when we were children, but as adults, it has become a luxury. Taking a day off for sleep would mean letting go of a day's worth of salary. A few hours of break may mean lots of one-time opportunities that would be wasted.
We tend to miss the days we only struggle choosing between candy and lollipop, because as we grow old, choices become more complicated. There are either lots of choices that we become too dizzy to choose, or there is no choice to make, that we settle for less. Decision-making seemed to be the hardest thing we do on a daily basis, because it may make us happy, and most of the time, it gives birth to regrets.
Regrets, yes, lots of them. People may call us sentimaental, or can't move forward, because we can't keep ourselves from looking back on the past decisions we made, reliving the regret, and making ourselves feel worse than before.
Life, in reality, is nowhere near the description given in the books. We don't always see rainbows after the rain, because the clouds cover them. The books said the sun always shines and beings smiles. But sometimes it's daytime, yet we feel so dark. While others fimd warmth from the sun, others experience burns. Others enjoy snowball fights during the winter, while others get buried on a frozen ground, succumbing to a cold death.
It's because our eyes open more as we grow older. We see lots of new things that either make is feel thrilled or terrified instead. Life is an adventure, yes, and it always means sacrificing stuff you treasure, just to survive. Life is a race, maybe, because we see others far ahead, or we see how far we are to the finish line.
Lots of negative things, you say? I agree. We get sick and tired that ou eyes are clouded, making us see just the ugly side of life, and not the beauty of it.
Well, you know, as we also grow older, we also see the beauty in ugliness. We may not always see the rainbow, but it does not mean it's not there. The sun may give us an ugly, and dry skin, but it also gives off light that helps us see things better. Life can still be called as a fairy tale because, somewhere down the road, God will help us meet at least one person who'll always be there with you, who'll love you for no reason, who'll cherish you. It may be a friend, a partner in life, or a family. If none of the above, you're still lucky, because it's God.
Regrets actually are not ugly at all, because how do we know what's right the second time around, unless we failed? Regrets become past memories, that gives us a good laugh remembering it at random times.
This place is not perfect, but it's still beautiful. Not a hundred percent beautiful, but still beautiful. Wild flowers and trees grow even we don't make much efforts. Birds eat well and grow even humans don't feed them. That's how everything is, until humans came into the scene and messed the natural state of things. Well, just saying, why did I suddenly talk about that LOL. Let's move on.
It's funny how life plays with us. Unless we learn how to play with it, we won't find fun in it, even just very little amount of it. One time you're happy, the next moment, there's a problem again. Truth be told, it happens to everyone. If we think of it that way, it becomes more bearable, don't you think? Every single person on this earth has his/her own share of problems he/she has to live with everyday.
We all have our own deadlines, too. The onky thing is, only our Creator knows when. So let's try to live life to the fullest. Even when it's unbearable at times, let's just hang in there, and keep walking. Who knows? In the desert of this life, we may come across a water source.
We are just good pretenders sometimes. We can smile even we're broken inside. Others can even cry even they're celebrating inside, due to an ulterior motive. We may not notice it, but aren't all of us actors, in a way? Wait, when am I getting my Oscar's?
