I personally love to track where my money is going. I’ve been doing it for maybe 3 years now. I love it because I get to be aware of my finances. I know when I am overspending or if I am not spending much.
For this article, I am going to share on where did my money went or what I spent last month of January.
1. Christmas Party
Me and my friends had our third annual late Christmas Party on January 3. I wrote an article about it here: Classic Filipino Christmas Party.
I spent ₱55 for our foods, ₱20 for our game prizes, and around ₱200 for iPhone case (it’s for exchange gift. sana all may iPhone haha). I didn’t regret spending on it because I had so much fun that day.
2. QuickFX Pimple Eraser Facial Gel Cleanser
I already mentioned this product along with my other personal favorite skincare products on my previous article here: My Lazy Skincare Routine
It’s my second time to buy this item. I personally like it that’s why I bought one again, and this time, I bought it for only ₱113 or $2.26. Because my last purchase was around ₱200, so I am kinda glad that I got it now for a less price.
3. Dotted Notebook/Journal
I have been doing bullet journal for many consecutive years now. And for my 2022 bullet journal or bujo, I bought one that costs ₱99, but with an additional fee for shipping, I spent a total of ₱133 or $2.66.
I shared my bullet journal set-up here, you can check it out: My 2022 Bullet Journal Set-Up
4. Laptop
I already talked about this too on my previous article: I Bought My Own Gaming Laptop (So Expensive!)
I purchased my first ever laptop that I can call my own last January 18. It's an ASUS TUF Gaming A15 that cost ₱53,995 or $1,079.90. I didn't completely bought it with my own money because my mama gave me some as well, thanks to her!
5. McDonald's Burger, fries, sprite
After buying a laptop at around noon time, I went home first that time, then I went to the city again to meet up with my other 2 girl best friends. We decided to eat at McDonald's and chitchat while eating. The food that we ordered for each one of us are burger, fries, and sprite that cost ₱86.00 or $1.72.
6. White top and Black top
On January 29, I had my dental appointment for my brace adjustment. After that, I went to the city and went thrift stores hopping. I end up buying a white top and a black top that costs ₱70 each, so ₱140 or $2.80 in total.
7. Vellum Cartolinas
I bought 3 vellum cartolinas for ₱37.50 or $0.75 at a nearby school supplies store here in our city. I bought them for future purposes for my course. Just in case we are going to make architectural plates, I don’t have to rush just to buy because I have stock in my room.
8. A Bonne Moisturizing Scrub
I was supposed to bought the original or the OG salt scrub of A Bonne, but then I saw this new one with an aesthetically pleasing nice packaging. And I would like to try it out. I've been using it for maybe more than 3 times now, and I like it so far. I bought it for ₱102 or $2.04.
9. Baked Sushi
I usually order baked sushi from a friend with the original flavor, but last month, I kinda just wanna try out this one that has 4 different flavors. It costs ₱250 or $5 as much as I can remember. I prefer the one that I usually order though. Hahaha.
I remember eating this while watching Snowdrop.
Closing Thoughts
Our money can just end up anywhere if we are not aware on how we spend it. In my case, I know where my money went and I am happy for my purchases last January.
My expenses for our Christmas Party is worth it because I had so much fun with my friends. The cleanser that I bought is a necessary skincare product for me, because having a nice skin boosts my confidence. The dotted journal is also a necessary thing for me because it helps me to keep track of my life and journaling is a therapeutic activity for me. Laptop is such a necessary gadget for me and I have been planning to purchase it for more than a year already. Spending money on McDonald's equates to having a quality time with my besties. Meanwhile, the white top and black top that I bought may be not that necessary like the others but it's okay because it's just a little splurge. Haha. Vellum cartolinas are essential for my future plates. The A Bonne salt scrub is also essential for me. The baked sushi may be not essential but it's for my happy tummy. Hihi.
In conclusion, I still somehow spend my money wisely. I also got to save more than what I spend, so I am pretty proud of myself.
How about you guys? What are the things you bought last January? Do you think you spend your money wisely? Let me know in the comment box. 🤔💭
That's all for now. Thank you for reading and until the next blog! ✨
