Remarkable App to IMPROVE your read.cash
Authors on read.cash who have been the most successful are those authors who consistently provide value to their avid readers.
This article idea was inspired by @kli4d's article: How I read, or listen rather, to your articles? https://read.cash/@kli4d/how-i-read-or-listen-rather-to-your-articles-f70a24af
This is also the first article in my Automation series. Subscribe!
**So, let's jump into my read.cash adventures.**
For those of you who have been here on read.cash for a while, you know the importance of giving back to the community and reading other authors' articles.
I set my main reading time around the same time I publish an article.
First, I prioritize those peeps who have left a **comment or an upvote** on any of my articles, as a way of saying **thanks**!
Then, I head over to my favorite authors' profiles, who have been *active recently* and have consistently provided *value*, and finally, I go looking for new authors to subscribe to.
This is my petite way of trying to give back.
**However, I have been guilty as charged.**
Of course, I must admit that there were a couple of things hindering me from getting as much active reading as I intended to.
Namely:
Eye straining
Distractions
Lack of reading comprehension due to interrupted reading
Time constraints, etc.
At the end of the day we're all just humans. Prone to wear and tear. Hehe
**Hence, let me tell you about the App that turned it around.**
Everything changed, after I downloaded a particular Text2speech application.
The app is called ***T2S: Text to Voice - Read Aloud*** which I downloaded from the play store.
Here's the link to download:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=hesoft.T2S
Do you want to know why this app turned out to be useful?
Then, stay a while and read (or listen) hehe down to the end. 😉
**The Killer Feature: COPY-TO-SPEAK!**
With this neat feature you'll copy any article or text that you want to absorb information from, and Voila!
Your bot sounding voice comes to life and reads outloud what ever you copied. 🎉
No need to paste it anywhere.
If you'd like the instructions on how to set it up, I invite you to read @kli4d's article: How I read, or listen rather, to your articles? https://read.cash/@kli4d/how-i-read-or-listen-rather-to-your-articles-f70a24af
However, I'll just quickly give the specifications on how I personally use it.
I do actually change the voices between a girl and a guy sounding voice depending on the author.
You don't have to do this. I do it because it helps me distinguish the different authors. After a while they start to really sound unique because of their peculiar writing styles.
**My personal subjective settings, mess with them if you will.**
For girl authors I use...
Speech voice: United States - 1
Voice rate: 2 or 2.5 (so I can get more articles in)
Speech pitch: 1
For guy articles...
Speech voice: United States - 4
Voice rate: 2 or 2.5 (so I can get more articles in.)
Speech pitch: 0.9
**Of course, not everything is buds and roses.**
I do want to give the fair warning that since my activation of the copy-to-speak feature, my mobile battery life doesn't last as long.
To prevent this, I just click the 'STOP' option on my notifications bar once I'm done and manually turn it back on within the app settings when needed again.
**Automate, Automate, Automate! 😉**
I've been really content with this little app. I save a lot on reading time and am actually getting through to more articles than before because I can speed up the little bot's reading rate.
And because I'm 100% better at listening than reading, my concept comprehension has gone up when listening to your articles, which then has allowed me to leave better comments.
**Furthermore, it helps your writting too!**
Not only do I use it for reading your articles but I also use it to read out loud my own article drafts.
That way it's easier for me to catch syntax errors, as well as mistructured sentences and ideas.
**This can help you too! 😀**
I invite you to try it and let me know in the comments below what you think.
If you know of any other tools that are extra useful, let me know too! 😊

Fuente https://stats.buybitcoinworldwide.com/stock-to-flow/

PREsearch Strategy To Earn $70 Dollars
You know when an article topic pops into your head and you think it will make for a great article but then you Do Your Own Research (DYOR) and you're disappointed to find that what you were going to write is not as GREAT as you'd once thought. Haha well this article is going to be a little about that.
**The Bull Run Can be deceiving.**
I think we can all agree that the crypto bull run brings in an incredible amount of wealth to different crypto projects.
During each bull run we have new investors lifting an eyebrow at a chance to make a nice quick buck. *(Though the truth is: many peeps new to crypto are inaugurated with quick losses, due to a lack of research)*.
Source https://stats.buybitcoinworldwide.com/stock-to-flow/
Every four years we have a crypto bull run that spills over (thankfully) to fund new ideas. This is great because then ideas that would otherwise not have found funding, actually gets a chance to come to life. Which is fantastic!
**Though, at the same time, seemingly "Good" ideas end up turning out to be mediocre or bad.**
Now this is where PREsearch comes in. PREsearch is a decentralized search engine that pays you crypto PRE tokens for using it as your default search engine.
Initially and superficially, it sounds like a great idea. Until you start using it and get more into the nitty gritty details.
**My experience with PREsearch engine.**
I have been using PREsearch as my default search engine for 3 months now. It's the default search engine both on my desktop computer AND on my cellphone.
So, essentially, you get .12 PRE tokens per search, up to 30 paid searches per day and a minimum withdrawal limit of 1,000 PRE tokens.
My initial thought was, "Let's be strategic about it." I planned to do 30 searches a day until reaching 1,000 PRE tokens and I had even set up an alarm clock to remind me of it.
**Doing some quick PREsearch math.**
Well, the rules are ***$0.12 PRE x 30 paid searches a day*** ***= $3.60 PRE a day***.
In a month *(excluding Sundays, for resting and chillaxing)*, I'd be making around $86.40 PRE a month. Therefore, it would take me about 12 months to reach the min withdrawal limit of 1,000 PRE. That's right! A whole YEAR!
At the time of my calculations, PRE was worth $0.07 USD. So after 12 months I would have made $70 USD, if the price was sustained. Which, you'd think was a reasonable amount until you divide it by 12, making it about $5 USD a month or about $0.20 USD cents per half an hour.
That's when I had to ask myself, how much is my time worth? How about my concentration and physical effort? *All intangible things that are worth monetary value* and of which I invite you to attempt to roughly calculate.
I know for a fact that as a bilingual speaker my time is worth a minimum $4USD/hour in Mexico and $16USD/hour in the U.S.A.
**Now, the reason why I will STOP promoting PREsearch.**
A day or two after I saw the PRE price at $0.07 USD, it went down to $0.04 and is now currently around $0.02 ish. Legit, making my plans unsustainable.
Additionally, in reading PREsearch's blogs on medium. I soon realized that any strategic forms of searching to gain PRE are forbidden and *infringes the project's Terms and Conditions*.
This was likely due to an influx of spammers making fake searches. The same spammers that say, "This is a great project. I'm certain this is going to go to the moon. Thank you, sers."
To be honest, I don't want to wait a whole year to receive a crypto recompense when streaming payments are just around the corner in our near future.
**In Honor of Objectivity: PREsearch objections answered.**
****Objection #1:**** ***PREsearch is privacy oriented so it's worth promoting.***
**My opinion:** Yes, it's supposed to be privacy oriented however, Brave browser will be coming out with it's own privacy oriented search engine. If they will both have the same functions then I'm going with Brave, because if I can't even withdraw my PRE tokens then it's as if I don't own them. Not Your Keys Not Your Crypto, honey beans.
***On a side note:*** *If you let your PREsearch sit idle after sometime (according to the Terms and Conditions) your PRE tokens expire and they essentially go back to the project for redistribution. All that time, energy, concentration, WASTED!*
****Objection #2******:** ***What about the staking and advertising part of the search engine?***
**My opinion:** You still need 1000 PRE tokens for withdrawal. THEN, you can purchase keyword ads with your PRE tokens.
Just to give a clear picture, I've used PREsearch for three months now, following the terms and conditions by using the search engine with normal everyday searches, nothing beyond that and yet, I've found it near impossible to meet the 30 paid searches everyday. After 3 months I only have about 48 PRE tokens. At this rate I'll be making about 150 PRE tokens a year. Nothing near the 1,000 PRE requirement. A total joke!
For my intents and purposes it was not worth my time or my other intangible resources. Plus I really hate the idea of expiring tokens.
****Objection #3****: ***What about the affiliates program?***
**My opinion**: Aside from the incentives not being that great. l personally can't *(in good conscience)* make money off having people sign up to a project that very likely wastes their time as it did mine.
Source https://presearch.org/account/referrals
Plus most people don't have a big enough following (audience) for the affiliate program to be profitable.
You would essentially be working to promote the PREsearch project for free.
****Objection #4****: ***The PREsearch team is working on a web3 integration that will allow everyone to withdraw their PRE tokens on their own.***
**My opinion**: A cryptocurrency is as good as its community. From what I understand PREsearch's community overlaps with Brave's. As soon as Brave puts out it's own web3 integration and privacy inclined search engine, it might just be the end of PREsearch which is the lesser known of the two.
**Deep down I really wanted the underdog to win.**
Sadly, PREsearch is just another crypto project that over promises and under delivers.
The crypto projects that have shone bright are those who have found a way to recompense it's base supporters from the community.
The poor people who believe in the project. But PREsearch is just another project that ties a bone up higher than you can reach.
**The tokenomics stink but the privacy feature is the bomb.**
Yeah, some people may feel that way. However, what's the point of having a privacy inclined search engine if most of us still watch videos on Google's YouTube, which practically tracks your every move.
It kinda defeats the purpose, in my opinion. Lol.
**My Honest Recommendation.**
This has been my personal experience with PREsearch. It didn't work out for me. However, I can see how it might still benefit someone living in a country who's fiat has crazy amounts of inflation.
In that case, I invite you to Do Your Own Research.
Look into and assess your own ***situation,*** ***resources*** *and* ***priorities***.

Fuente https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/basic-attention-token
Fuente https://uphold.com/en/faq
Fuente https://uphold.com/en/faq

66 yo Introduced To Crypto via Brave Browser (Review)
Are wrinkles displayed on an old man's face illustrating years worth of wisdom or years full of hard headedness? Let's find out with a quick Brave Browser Review.
**A 66 Year Old Man.**
My husband's old man is a "See To Believe" type of guy. He's almost impossible to convince of most things, because he purports to have seen almost everything in his 66 years of surviving in our uneventful earth.
He often consults others of his generation before concluding anything about anything and scrutinizes new ideas presented by a younger generation.
I'm of the opinion that new ideas can sometimes be good and healthy to embrace. Yet, the truth is, I have no idea how to encourage older generations to embrace them with me.
And that's how this story commences:
**The Economic Inquiries.**
Occasionally, my father-in-law asks us how we are doing financially. To be honest, in some contexts this can come off as rude, however, in our family unit it is considered okay since it's an underlying assumption that there is no ill intent in asking, it's mostly asked to make sure we're doing alright.
All things considered, I try to answer discreetly since I don't want him to think we're making tons of money off of our entrepreneurial and crypto adoption endevours. Hehe. Because we're not, except on the rare occasion when those juicy airdrops fly by and we happen to snatch one.
Now, my husband is a bit more open about his projects. On many occasions he has attempted explaining to his Pa how crypto adoption works, what bitcoin is, etc. With the intent to onboard him onto a cryptocurrency experience that will benefit him economically. My husband explains how we're benefiting from cryptocurrencies and crypto adoption platforms and yet, my father-in-law is a hard man to convince.
He says that in his youth because authority figures were given more credibility, then, they had a better opportunity of fixing things without too much criticism holding them back.
This was a hard argument for me to swallow since it appeared like he was implying that government mistrust is unwarranted. However, the internet age has really shed light upon unlawful governmental activity and in part has contributed to many people's weariness towards their leaders.
In case you're wondering, this is where crypto tech comes in handy. We just have keep working to onboard more and more people in a proficient way.
**Now: Addressing Some Disparaging Remarks.**
Once in a while my 66 year old father-in-law makes comments about how he came across an article of scammers using bitcoin to rip people off. "Do you want the link?" He asks....
Another time he remarks that bitcoin is an economical bubble. Simply put, when Bitcoin dipped not too long ago, he triumphantly declared, "The bubble popped!" Hehehe
I don't get mad because I know he's had his share of economic hardships due to fiat. Here in Mexico we had an economic peso crisis in 1994. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mexican_peso_crisis
Wondering what that was? It was a devaluation of MXN peso due to investors pulling out (dumping). Selling their MXN and converting it to USD due to political instability here in Mexico in 1994.
Those who couldn't sell out, that's to say, the mexican people, the average Jose got stuck with an inflation that caused a lot of hunger and personal financial poverty.
Yes, you read that right. Fiat currencies work similar to cryptocurrencies in the sense that FUD (*Fear, Uncertainty and Doubt*) also takes a toll by reducing the value of the coin.
Coming back to the other day, after a long conversation about crypto adoption, my father-in-law concluded that he didn't like cryptocurrencies because they simply weren't tangible.
Like I previously mentioned: He's a see it to believe it type of guy. ;D
So, I started to wonder and ponder about what would prove cryptocurrencies to be "***Tangible***"?
**Resisting the change and acceptance of a Brave Browser download.**
Well, it just so happened that a while back my husband secretly installed the Brave browser download on both his parents' computers and hid chrome. Hehehe
(*Author's note: Only do this if you have a close relationship with your parents and you understand each other. lol. I don't want to encourage any behavior that'll cause harm to relationships.*)
When they realized that chrome was nowhere to be found, theeeeeey roared like a lionness protecting it's cubs, "You broke my computer!", "Where is my YouTube?", and "Where's my Duolingo?!"
Consequently, he explained to them the changes and the benefits of the Brave browser download and the using of Brave Browser itself. You get paid crypto in the form of BAT token every month when you enable ad watching!
Simply put, Brave browser blocks outside ads and has it's own ad system. Brands pay for a Brave browser ad campaign and in turn Brave pays it's users a part of that revenue in the form of BAT tokens to watch the ads. For the most part, the ads I have seen are crypto and tech related.
By the way, check out the recent mobile upgrades. You can now do group tabs.
Well, fast forward a couple of months from the installation of Brave Browser and my husband checked in front of his dad, his BAT token rewards balance.
He had a whooping 3 USD worth of BAT token priced at 1.09 USD per BAT. Which is about 59 MXN pesos, I know it may not seem like much but it's enough to buy 10 bus rides on the current bus fair for the elderly. ;)
Or also 1 hours worth of minimum wage here in Mexico.
Source https://www.coingecko.com/en/coins/basic-attention-token
More importantly, there was a prolonged silence that no one wanted to break. Lol.
*(Author's note: We didn't want to say, "I told you so!" And he didn't want to out right admit that, "Yeah, maybe crypto can be 'Tangible'.")*
Until he finally broke the silence with a more light hearted tone of voice and asked, "Sooo, how do I withdraw that money?" Hahahaha. ;D
**Alright now, roll in the review:**
Overall, I can see that Brave Browser properly offers its users a way to protect personal information from the overpowering advertising industry.
The user interface is satisfying, and its tracker blocking software does make it faster. Just to give you an idea, I have about 27 tabs open and I don't perceive any lag at this moment.
In comparison to the alternative browsers I've used such as: Vivaldi, Opera, and Yandex. I prefer Brave Browser over all.
Sounds good, right?
Well, that's not the whole story...
**My Brave Browser pet peeve: BAT Token, Why at this moment I'm not so bullish on Brave Browser**
So, just to clarify, this browser is the best of its kind but it has one major flaw: ***Withdrawal of BAT token.***
The truth is, this is something that I haven't seen many people criticize as much as it should be, probably due to conflict of interests. Most reviews on Brave Browser include an affiliate link. However, now that the affilliate progam has been closed off for new sign ups, I'm hoping we see more call outs on this:
***The only way to withdraw BAT Tokens is via their partner Uphold wallet which has a very rigorous KYC requirement.***
Don't take my word for it, here's Uphold themselves:
Source https://uphold.com/en/faq
And robust is such an understatement, check out all the KYC you have to go through just to cash out your BAT tokens:
Source https://uphold.com/en/faq
**Well, why is KYC such a big deal?**
Allow me to share a couple of tweets with you to illustrate my point.
https://twitter.com/BrendanEich/status/718581319060426752?s=20
Ironically, Brave co-founder and CEO Brendan Eich asks, "*Who owns your attention? Who owns your web browsing experience? Who gets paid? If not you, then you're [the] "product" Time to get paid.*"
Well here's the kicker, if Brave is so big on privacy then why do we have to do KYC to get paid?
That's why I found Alex Van de Sande's tweet so relatable with a bit of humor:
https://twitter.com/crypto_citrus/status/1389645662627713027?s=20
For those who have done the KYC, you could potentially be tracked to some extent via your Uphold wallet.
***PROS:***
Good User interface
Blocks software that tracks you
and sells your info to third party
marketing companies
Thor private browsing
***CONS:***
KYC to withdraw BAT
**But wait, here's the good news: Brave is working on a DEX!**
To Brave Browser's defense, they have announced they will be releasing a Decentralized Exchange (DEX) to the browsing experience. https://decrypt.co/59219/brave-browser-is-building-its-own-decentralized-exchange-aggregator
In about 12-16 months from now, we'll be seeing a DEX roll out that will allow us to exchange BAT with other cryptocurrencies.
I think this is a great step towards decentralization! But, what about all the content creators who had to sell their identity for a couple of BATs a month?
**Coming back around to my father-in-law's question:**
**How do you withdraw BAT tokens?**
At the moment I personally haven't done the KYC and I don't recommend anyone do it.
The best option will be to HODL your BAT tokens until the DEX is released and then attempt to withdraw, IF they make it available.
It'll be a fantastic way to onboard friends and family to crypto. They'll learn how to use a DEX and they'll have a tangible way to use their BAT tokens anyway they want, without having to do an intrusive KYC.
Brave will be their first crypto faucet! ;D
**To the point:**
We're all looking for ways to onboard people to crypto. It's brought value to our lives and we want to share it with those we love.

¡Prueba Presearch y gana monedas PRE gratis! https://presearch.org/signup?rid=2337940
****I'm A Spammer Before On noise.cash (What I Have Learned)**** https://read.cash/@kingofreview/im-a-spammer-before-on-noisecash-what-i-have-learned-c169457a
**TIP:** aporta valor a tus ávidos lectores.
Descubre cuáles son todas esas cosas con este artículo: ****Have I tipped you?**** https://read.cash/@TheRandomRewarder/have-i-tipped-you-3630b082

Once Upon A Spunky Developer
The value of a coin is sustained by its community. ;)
The beginning of an elaborate faucet.
Quality crypto faucets encourage adoption of crypto currencies. They can accomplish three things, a side income for those who are willing to play by the faucet' rules, an income for the faucet developer or mass adoption of the cryptocurrency. Who doesn't like free money, eh?
As promised in my previous post: **Crypto Benchwarmer No More!** https://read.cash/@lagrapefruit/crypto-benchwarmer-no-more-72a1a446
This is the story of the true purpose of this crypto blogging platform. So, let's dig in!
**The read.cash dilema.**
A while back, I had been doing some research on how to get your account unspammed on read.cash because there were so many people asking everywhere I went. In the past I'd tell people to email read.cash's developers.
Yet, I wondered if anyone else had figured out a better solution? Well after I realized that it was really logistically impossible for the devs to manually unspam everyone's account. I decided to presearch it.
Try Presearch and earn free PRE coins! https://presearch.org/signup?rid=2337940
Because I thought, "Okay, maybe the devs have talked about the algorithm that checks your account and unspams you."
Now, from my research, I can say that they haven't elaborated in detail about this. It seems that it's all one big algorithm, both the one that rewards you and the one that marks an account as spam. It all depends on your activities.
For example, I'm in @carisdaneym2 's telegram chat and here I was able to ask @MicroReylatos how his account was eventually unspammed. Essentially he said that the system eventually recognized his activity as human and therefore his account was unspammed.
Interestingly enough, while doing the research, I did come across the real reason why read.cash and noise.cash were created. This is an interesting story for those who don't already know.
**Follow the cause and effect.**
In order for you to know why a read.cash account may be marked as spam or how to earn more money via read.cash, then you must know what the purpose of read.cash is.
Why was it created? What is the cause and the intended effects of this Bitcoin cash (BCH) crypto project?
Why are they giving out free money?
If you read all the way to the end you'll see that they are actually not giving money out entirely for free. There's no such thing as a free lunch! ;)
**Let the developer speak!**
By reading several comments from the developer of read.cash, you see the panorama of the purpose of read.cash, noise.cash and the Tips Faucet:
Which is to change humanity's perception of crypto currencies via Bitcoin cash (BCH) at the grassroots level. From the bottom up. If the majority of humanity can see how crypto benefits them, they'll be more likely to defend it against unjust laws. When the time comes, they will stand up for it!
Okay, yeah, let's talk a little about: Spammers! Hehehe
Early on, as read.cash launched, spammers were preventing new people from getting a yummy taste of BCH.
Are you asking yourself why spammers were preventing growth? Well, because...
They make for annoying human interactions in the community.
By cheating the system there was less quality work being done by spammers and getting rewarded more for it. Because they could move faster than those who took their time to create quality content.
Spam smears read.cash's reputation for outsiders peeking in, tagging the platform as spammy.
It also gives a bad reputation to Bitcoincash (BCH) and it will go down in value.
If you want to see someone who was previously a spammer and had a change of heart, check out @kingofreview 's article:
**I'm A Spammer Before On noise.cash (What I Have Learned)** https://read.cash/@kingofreview/im-a-spammer-before-on-noisecash-what-i-have-learned-c169457a
**Soooo, we circle back to answer why some accounts are marked as spam.**
This is my observation as to why it possibly happens:
**Your writing style or structure:** If it's very similar in many of your articles and you just changed the topic. The algorithm could categorize you as a bot and mark you as spam. This is because there are tools that change the words of an article to make it a "different" one yet it essentially turns out looking very similar. It's called spinning articles.
**TIP:** Change up your writing style so it doesn't look too much like everyone else's. Add some humor. Make it yours! :D
**How you interact:** Do you reply back to comments on your articles? If so, are your interactions with others very similar? Like using the same sentence structure and similar words over and over.
**TIP:** Try to comment with two sentences minimum. You can check your own comment history to compare if your comments are too similar.
**Activeness:** Are you reading other's articles? How often do you sign in to read.cash?
**TIP:** Subscribe to interesting authors and read their articles that appear in your notifications box. If you are no longer interested, it's okay to unsubscribe.
**Growing the community:** Are you helping grow other authors by tipping them or commenting their articles? A healthy community means a healthy cryptocurrency (BCH). Healthy BCH means catching the attention of new eyes.
**TIP:** If you don't have money to tip a quality article, leave a relevant comment.
**The community's reaction:** How do other authors interact with you? Are they staying to read all the way to the bottom to like, comment and subscribe? Or are they clicking away?
**TIP:** Bring value to your avid readers. Think about how your article will help them grow. Make your perspective unique. How do you know what's unique and what has been said a thousand times? By reading other's articles then writing about what wasn't said already by many others.
**NOTE:** This is different than writing about the same topic. You can write about the same topic, however, use different words, ideas, structure, find a unique angle. ;)
**Grammar:** Google a free tool to help. I personally like using Word Counter.io it checks your grammar and runs a word counter! The bot likes 600+ words. ;)
**TIP:** Check the connotation of your words via dictionary.com. Different words are used to paint a different picture in the reader's imagination.
***For example:*** **CLUMSY** vs **GRACELESS**. They both are **synonymous**, meaning they mean almost the same thing, in this case they can both be used to describe awkwardness. However, they have a slightly different **FEEL** to them, a different **IMPLICATION**.
Clumsy is more like awkward because of lack of agility and Graceless is more like an awkward that is unsophisticated. A tool I use is Thesaurus.com.
Words can make the difference between a good article and an awesome one! https://wordcounter.io/ https://www.thesaurus.com/
**Emotions:** Are you putting emotional intelligence into your articles? I've noticed that sometimes therandomrewarder really likes raw emotions. Did you make him cry? Smile? Or BOTH? Hehehe
**TIP:** Adding emotions and personal experiences unique to you causes the bot to drop by with a tip! Just remember to keep it classy, nothing too raw. Plus, Humans are emotional beings. It'll also help you connect with other authors. Making you relatable.
**Be Careful.**
Now, there are things that will get your account blacklisted forever.
Find out what all those things are with this article: **Have I tipped you?** https://read.cash/@TheRandomRewarder/have-i-tipped-you-3630b082
And also check out @Eybyoung's: **Forgotten By The Robot?** https://read.cash/@Eybyoung/forgotten-by-the-robot-929825f4
To sum this up, this platform we're on is an effort to onboard thousands of people onto crypto. Those funding this project and the devs are not giving away free money. Rather, they are purchasing your time and proof of work to get you to try BCH and eventually educate yourself about crypto. Which is exactly what is happening with many here. There are a lot more articles of attempts to trade and HODLing than when I first signed up.
**But wait, there's more...**
These are general observations and best practices for earning on read.cash.
However, I will be doing a more detailed article series of how I go about creating my articles as well as the exact tools I use!

Recalibrating Mistakes, we all need to!
If everything goes as planned would life be boring? I personally don't know. Never have I really had a day in my adult life where everything played out exactly how I forecasted it to happen. Have you?
**Recalibration nation.**
Time to reassess my April goals and calibrate accordingly. It's good to change course when the path you're on is just not working out. If you want to read the article where I lay out my goals for April, here it is:
**Positive Heartfelt Intentions Count Too** https://read.cash/@lagrapefruit/positive-heartfelt-intentions-count-too-4827f4ab
Alright, now, do you want the good news or the bad news first?
I always ask for the bad first, that way the good news acts like a band-aid. Hehe. Constructive criticism hurts sometimes.
Anyway, last month I met **5 out of 15** of my self-imposed goals. Lol. That's 1/3 complete.
Not too bad actually, for my first month setting goals. Right?
Now, time for a little self reflection...
**What were my low hanging fruits?**
Low hanging fruits are areas of opportunity that are right at your fingertips and that you shouldn't let pass by because they're so easy to pick.
So, real quick, let's recap what actually got done in April...

**During the month I tried at least one new food recipe.** I had a fried quesadilla, it was covered with green salsa, lettuce and cheese. Tasty for sure! The consistency was semi crunchy in the outside and fluffy in the inside, not too salty and just the right amount of spice.
In addition, the lettuce gave it the balance of freshnesses it needed.
**Then, I wrote an article that was 6 minutes long.** This achievement was actually ground breaking for me. It really showed me that it is possible to write long-quality content. It does take longer to curate but in the end longer content helps express ideas better. The ideas are more clear with more words. More length means more room for examples to clarify too.
Getting a bit side tracked...
Now, as for why I lacked achieving 2/3rds of my goals this past month. I must admit that I got a little side tracked with some new projects:
I started up my own website cryptocitrus.org. (Still working on getting the SSL activated, this could tag my website with security errors. Will have that up soon!)
The main purpose for owning my own website is to be able to have more freedom for introducing future sources of revenue via affiliates, merchandise, etc. As well as creating possible mini contests for the benefit of others. It will be my corner of the internet where I can encourage people to join me in getting involved with crypto technology.
I've been more active in HIVE communities like LeoFinance, Ecency, Proof of Brain and dBuzz.
This has allowed me to diversify my audience and earn twice as much crypto for my same articles.
In order to help others, I will write about diversifying your blogging income in a future article. Subscribe to be notified!
On top of all this (and with the help of my husband), I look after my little kids. This takes up most of my time and energy, yet it is the most rewarding.
This includes: entertaining the kids, singing, and dancing for them, educating, feeding, and cleaning, etc. 24 hours / 7 days a week.
Therefore, for me, an area of opportunity would be not biting more than I can chew. Very often I find myself spreading too thin.
Another thing I see as a net loss is doing too many things manually. Tasks that are not yielding enough return of investment. In this case my time and energy are my investment.
**Automation as a solution.**
For this month of May, my main goal will be to find ways to automate as many of the ordinary and mundane tasks that I do everyday.
With the removal of delegateable tasks, I'll be able to focus on my family and my online presence via blogging in different crypto platforms.
Plus, I already have an article in store on the topic of automation. Subscribe to see it in the future! ;D
If you know of useful ways to automate, let me know!
We all need to work smart, not hard.
**Managing my time with technology.**
In my life, technology is underutilized and I really need to use more of it to get where I want to go, faster.
I want to be financially free in a year from now. The great thing is that crypto currencies are helping my family and I achieve that.
Yet, I still have to be wise with my time. I know I can get more juice out of the technology that's currently available to me. So, the main focus right now will be on researching on how to do that. I am planning on documenting my journey, that way those who want to follow along can learn from my mistakes. Thanks for reading this short update.

-Kathleen M. Hamm, discurso https://pcaobus.org/news-events/speeches/speech-detail/mexican-mangos-diamonds-cargo-shipping-containers-oh-my!-what-auditors-need-to-know-about-blockchain-and-other-emerging-technologies-a-regulator-s-perspective_684

Mango blockchain to the rescue!
Where I live there exists a remarkably flavored fruit that is sourly-sweet, loudly yellow, and tropically fruity. It grows here in Mexico. https://read.cash/@lagrapefruit/10-didnt-knows-about-mexico-as-a-mex-american-part-1-fe5a6478
The Mango, a tangy fruit with a fresh and sweet aroma that causes your tastebuds to jump up with glee. Yay! Tastebud Party! Lol.
Mango season in Mexico. You want to see what it looks like?
Look at that! 🤤🤤 And a little goes a long way too.
It's funny how Mangos are used for decorating everything, from cakes, to walls and t-shirts. Here in Mexico there are also fruit cups you can buy from street vendors usually topped with chili. https://read.cash/@lagrapefruit/10-didnt-knows-about-mexico-as-a-mex-american-part-2-7f5969a8
**Reading Up A little On Our Food Source Distribution**
The other day I came across this article that makes a good point about our food distribution and blockchain technology.
In previous years, I've seen news articles discussing disastrous foodborne illnesses caused by farming products. Like the spinach and peanut butter disasters in the U.S.
Both separate events.
The globalized commerce we've created has helped expand our foodchain resources. Thanks to technological advancements we've been pushed into a little dilema. Blind foodchain consumption.
**Why It's A Good Idea To Know Where Your Food Comes From**
Food producing is an industry. There is money to be made in agriculture and this sometimes means there might be room for abuse.
Humans are not perfect and some are tempted to take short cuts to increase a cent or two by reducing quality control.
Other times farmers are not fully aware that certain malpractices could potentially harm the health of a big portion of their consumers. You and me.
Because of the industrialization boom we've really lost track of where our food source originates from.
What I mean is that, humanity not only used to buy locally but we even grew our own food just a couple of generations ago. I still remember my parent's stories on how they had to help their parents with the crops in order to even have food on the table.
With globalization, we now have growing food sources with a paralleled lack of accountability.
**How Are We Catching Up With Emerging Technologies?**
Well, Wal-Mart implemented blockchain technology for tracing back the origin of their produce. A blockchain was specifically employed to record the shipping path of mangoes from Mexico to Wal-Mart store fronts. https://www.investopedia.com/terms/b/blockchain.asp
*"For instance, Walmart has piloted the technology to track sliced Mexican mangos from orchards to its stores. Over 30 days, tens of thousands of mangos were traced on their journey from 16 Mexican farms, two packing houses, three brokers, two import warehouses, and one processing facility before eventually arriving on the store shelf.*
*Using traditional manual, paper-based methods, it took almost a week to trace a specific mango back to the farm. With blockchain, that time was cut to 2.2 seconds!*
*The technology promises to not only simplify and automate complex supply-chain records. It offers the potential to investigate food-borne illnesses in seconds, while ensuring the quality and authenticity of produce. Next fall, Walmart plans to launch blockchain to track every bag of spinach and head of lettuce placed on its shelves."*
*-Kathleen M. Hamm,* *Speech Source* https://pcaobus.org/news-events/speeches/speech-detail/mexican-mangos-diamonds-cargo-shipping-containers-oh-my!-what-auditors-need-to-know-about-blockchain-and-other-emerging-technologies-a-regulator-s-perspective_684
This is remarkable! Now just think of all the possibilities. A QR code on every product that sends you (in 2.2 seconds) to a page showcasing all the places this product has come in contact with. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_code
I especially like the idea of being able to trace back an outbreak of food borne illnesses.
More transparency from big Corps would allow us to responsibly vote with our purchases.
**Some Additional Posibilities.**
What we put into our bodies has a big impact on our health.
Cryptocurrencies return the power of money to the people.
However decentralized Crypto technology can be employed to improve transparency and real-time abuse detection.
With this blockchain tracking tech, food suppliers could potentially be incentivized with a specialized token that rewards them for doing the right thing.
The tracking would also hopefully prevent food forgeries that are potentially harmful.
Eventually, if we get 20% of the top food producers to join blockchain technology, then 80% of the smaller producers would follow in their footsteps.
Just like how Wal-Mart's already doing it, I can also picture organic farmers being early adopters of blockchain transparency.
**Hi, there! What do you think? Comment below!**
I will try to tip quality comments depending on rusty. ;D
Thanks for reading my crypto implementation brainstorms. There is so much potential and we're still early into mass adoption.

You Didn't Know You're Grateful For****". https://read.cash/@lagrapefruit/12-things-you-didnt-know-youre-grateful-for-5eb23ead
¡Únete a mi! ¡Suscribete!

Crypto Benchwarmer No More!
I first heard of crypto back in 2013. The technology was slowly seeping in. I officially became a **crypto benchwarmer** when my husband bought his first bitcoin back in 2019.
**Allow Me to Give You Some Backstory**.
About four years ago, prior to becoming a crypto benchwarmer, I had jumped into the idea of wanting to become a **content creator.** Mainly, for the creative side of it, as a creative outlet. Sometimes, as a parent, it is easy to forget that we need hobbies to help us relax and be creative
I had subscribed to YouTube channels such as Think Media and Video Creators etc. https://youtube.com/user/THiNKmediaTV https://youtube.com/c/VideoCreators
And I learnt so much about **niches, social media marketing, content creation, monetization, etc.** but I never got around to publishing my half hearted creations and I will tell you why in a bit...
Now I had also been learning about crypto from my husband. As he researched more and more, we would talk and talk and talk about crypto technology.
Well one day, my husband brought up that he had been writing on read.cash and had been earning crypto. He encouraged me to start writing articles on read.cash and although a bit hesitant, I took his advice.
I began to write essays for the first time since highschool, though I had forgotten a lot of essay writing I had learnt in communications class and when I did start writing here on read.cash, that is when I understood what I had been missing in my content creating journey.
*Later I'll write an article explaining read.cash's developers' true motivation in creating this platform. It's actually an interesting story.* ***Subscribe to be notified!***
My Introverted Dichotomies.
There were problems that prevented my creative projects from fledging.
**Lack of niche relatedness.** I simply had a hard time combining niches that would allow me to be comfortable writing evergreen content for years to come.
There was the **"Mom" niche** but I did not really want to make my content solely on mom stuff. There is more to my persona than being a mom.
The **"Art and crafts"** niche but it was too much work. Plus I needed money to buy the supplies. That is money I did not have.
The **"Culture" niche** did catch my attention but I did not know how to stand out in a way that I would be comfortable with and I am kind of culturally all over the place. I'm neither from here nor there metaphorically speaking.
**I kept putting off creating videos because I was afraid of burning out.** Anyone who is familiar with video editing knows that sometimes video editing can be painfully meticulous. I am referring to logistics like the editing, the music, the props, etc.
Not to mention that monetization on youtube is overwhelming. **Getting sponsored can be tough** right at the beginning.
Yet, what I really wanted was to create content that I myself would enjoy consuming. Content that portrayed my experiences while bringing **value to the people**, and if I got paid for it, that would be an extra, it would be a bonus.
**But first value to the people!**
Setting Aside Video and Diving Into Writing.
After having encouraged me for like a week to start writing articles. On thanksgiving day my husband gave me a topic to write about and get me started, "**12 Things You Didn't Know You're Grateful For**". https://read.cash/@lagrapefruit/12-things-you-didnt-know-youre-grateful-for-5eb23ead
So, I grabbed a notebook and pen. I sat down and wrote down deep thoughts, feelings and experiences that I had been holding on to for a long time.
And then I realized...
**Writing should precede videos.**
Writing should precede videos because writing is easier and it gives statistics of what topics are successful and which are a flop. It also serves as a transcript for a video.
Since I have started **writing on read.cash,** I've become aware of the **benefits of organized thoughts via essay structure writing**.
So yes, in the future, I am planning on making videos. Maybe a year from now.
I consider myself a **open to all cryptos**, which means I am open to projects that have potential.
This has opened me up to a niche that I have been wanting to enter but did not know where to start: **The crypto world**. Most of my info on crypto came from a second hand source and now I want to dip my own toes and get my own hands on experience.
Posting in a crypto writing platform has allowed me to give back to the community via upvoting and by writing content that will encourage the people I live with and interact with to dive into **crypto technology** too.
**Join me! Subscribe!**
This quick intro about my benchwarming is to show that while I watched the crypto community grow for the past two years, I learned a lot by observing to the point where I wanted to join myself.
Gratefully, I finally chose to join when I started writing in crypto funded blogging platforms like read.cash, Hive, LeoFinance.
Organizing my thoughts has helped me locate niches for me to write about and possibly (in the distant future) create videos too.
I would like to put out ideas that I myself enjoy consuming and that'll also help others out there with the added value I hope to include.
I will be branching out, meeting new people and also trying different platforms so as to reach more people. I want to change lives in a positive way.

**Me towards my $200 in BCH Goal this month and How BCH shaped my perspective in life** por carisdaneym2 https://read.cash/@carisdaneym2/me-towards-my-200-in-bch-goal-this-month-and-how-bch-shaped-my-perspective-in-life-7c37d4ca
**New Goal, New Challenge, New BCH Wallet** por Laurenceuuu https://read.cash/@Laurenceuuu/new-goal-new-challenge-new-bch-wallet-888a9a2a
**11 artículos** *(Actualmente solo he podido hacer 4ish).* 😬

**The Goal Setter.**
In the past hours, I have read an article around here that really moved me to act upon it. It was an article that talked about having accomplished goals for the past month.
Here it is, if you're curious: Monthly BCH Goals: MARCH - Achieved! https://read.cash/@immaryandmerry/monthly-bch-goals-march-achieved-cbbaed01#comment-b2f5d6e0
You can perceive success in the words written and a sense of accomplishment with a touch of composure and determination.
And this is what I liked the most:
*"Making these goals was such a big help to make me more productive. It's just that when I have a goal in mind to accomplished, it makes me more focused and it makes me to work harder just to achieved it. Because nothing beats the fulfillment that I am getting as I see my goals being accomplished one by one."*
@immaryandmerry
I think this rang true for me because who wouldn't want all of that:
**Productivity, focus and accomplishment. Hehehe**
****The Hesitation.****
Now, I'll admit this is not the first article I've read on goal setting. In fact here are two articles I've read before this one:
Me towards my $200 in BCH Goal this month and How BCH shaped my perspective in life by @carisdaneym2 https://read.cash/@carisdaneym2/me-towards-my-200-in-bch-goal-this-month-and-how-bch-shaped-my-perspective-in-life-7c37d4ca
New Goal, New Challenge, New BCH Wallet by @Laurenceuuu https://read.cash/@Laurenceuuu/new-goal-new-challenge-new-bch-wallet-888a9a2a
To be honest, **I had fun reading them!** I think these two always know how to imprint their personalities into their writings and people enjoy it! hehe. Myself included.
But that was just it...
Their writing style is so unique that I couldn't help but feel like:
*"Oh, well, they're able to do $100+ a month because of their incredible humor, enthusiam and entertaining abilities. But it would be too hard for me to pull off a goal like that."*
And It wasn't to put myself down. Not at all!
What I mean is that, **all my life I've always been the reserved** **type**. Not shy, mind you. For there is a difference.
Shy is when you don't want to do things out of timidness. **Yet** **reserved is when silence dances with peace while you quietly observe the world play in front of you.**
So, when I read Monthly BCH Goals: MARCH - Achieved! It really made it seem so achievable because I saw that @immaryandmerry 's writing style was more closer to mine. https://read.cash/@immaryandmerry/monthly-bch-goals-march-achieved-cbbaed01#comment-b2f5d6e0
Calm and chill. 😁
****The Goals...****
Okay, enough chit chat, here is what I'm hoping to accomplish this April 2021:
**11 articles** *(Currently only been able to do 4ish).* 😬
**Try 1 new food recipe** *(Just because)***.**
**Write one article that is 6 minutes long** *(This one makes me sweat, I don't know if I have that much to talk about on a single topic).*
**Be kind to myself.**
**Read 1 whitepaper.**
And all of this in 30 days. Just keeping it simple... No pressure...
**** ***Note: I didn't include a money goal*** *because at this moment I just want to focus on my writing skills and on branching out to other blogging platforms. Though at the end of this month I will try to show how much I've made on read.cash and in the other platforms.*
**Thanks for reading and Stay Tuned!**
Okay, to be honest, I'm feeling the pressure already ~~and I haven't even published this yet~~ and have had second thoughts about letting it go live...
I think **I'm afraid to fail in public** haha. What I mean is that **I'm afraid to bite more than I can chew.**
But at the same time, I do want to fail because I know I'll learn faster and it'll keep me humble. Either way, it's a Win-Win. If I accomplish my goals I would have really pushed myself to be more **productive, focused and accomplished.**
If I don't, then I will have learnt from my mistakes and try again the next month.
If you have any tips to help me achieve my goals, please leave them down below. Would really appreciate it!

https://tauros.io/signup?ref=TKW68V4M

I will be translating and publishing my articles in Spanish. Please excuse the language barrier.

My Elegant Tauros Crypto Debit Card Arrived!!
As time has incredibly winked past us, gracious venture capitalists are providing us with **practical crypto integrations** that are assisting us with our ordinary, day to day, shopping experiences.
A long way we've come in the endeavor for **crypto mass adoption** and although, improvements have been implemented for more intuitive user interfaces, I can't imagine it be sufficiently simple enough for **my mom** to dive in yet.
In the same line of thought, useful **Dapps (decentralized applications)** have allowed us to experience real life application of peer-to-peer networking with crypto technology. Like LBRY, Hive and CubFinance. Which is awesome!
Yet, we're still quite **early** in the mass accessibility of crypto in our day to day lives.
Because **automation** is a hard thing to grasp for many people, it means shifting their mentality to new grounds. They will have to figure out what they would do with newly found time on their hands.
Automation forces the rethinking of **purpose** because it takes over those manual tasks that causes a feeling of importance. Making many people uncomfortable and unwilling to accept.
Another reason is that **crypto technology is still in its infant stages**. With many mistakes being made, most people are afraid of losing because when they fall, they don't know how to get back up.
There's a fear of being scammed and a belief that in order to prevent scams, then hard earned money must be held physically in the hand.
But of course, this is illogical because people get scammed all the time with fiat.
So, in order to accelerate **crypto mass adoption we need mass education** of how the technology works and how it can be applied to everyday life.
Which means that for now we have to **integrate crypto with already available technology**. This will slowly warm people up to it and help them feel more and more comfortable, until their familiarity shifts them over to complete crypto integration.
Therefore, case in point, the technology available for me in Mexico and which will integrate crypto easily into my life is the **Tauros crypto debit card**.
https://youtu.be/52whESTnoW4
About 4 days after I applied for it via the phone application, and paying the card fee of $300 MXN pesos, it finally arrived in the mail!
My husband had gotten one for himself a while back and it does the job. Nothing super fancy. Like a debit card should be haha.
So, now that I've been receiving BCH on read.cash, I needed a way to use it for making purchases where I live.
Of course, the most ideal scenario would be to use **BCH directly with the vendors** in my area to pay for stuff. However, at this time it's just **not an easy option**.
So, how will this work?
Let me show you the screenshots of what the phone app looks like:
My goal for this product is to use it as a quick way to buy necessity items with my crypto coins.
It will not be where I HODL a big amount of crypto, since it's centralized and there are just safer places to keep your money safe. Not your keys not your crypto. lol.
In about 6 months I will write a review on this Crypto debit card to see how well it's helped integrate crypto into my personal life.
If you live in Mexico and would like a crypto debit card, here is the link to download the app and get one:
https://tauros.io/signup?ref=TKW68V4M
Spend, save and manage your money all in one application. Get a digital account that feels like a bank, but on your smartphone.
Requirements:
18 years or older
You use MXN currency
Understand spanish
One time card fee of $300 MXN
Residence in mexico
National ID

Light Revealing My Genuine Feathers
All colors depend on light.
The other day I was working on the computer, when all of a sudden, smothered was my laser focused concentration when my excited kindergartener waved a bird's feather in front of my eyes, enunciating, 'Look mammi. It's beauuuuu-ti-fulllll.'
Having been deeply concentrated in my work and thought process, it took me 5 unfading seconds to pull out of that fine absorption I was in.
It took me a while to snap out because I was remembering that nine times out of ten, when kindergarteners want your attention it's usually not for anything absolutely earth shattering. Being that, kids are new around here and what's shockingly new to them is just plain and ordinary for us adults.
Yet, this time, to my surprise, THIS TIME, my little girl's excitement correlated the value of her newly found treasure. What she found was actually something interesting to look at from an adult's perspective.
A beautiful parakeet's feather. Which shifted from semi dull grayscale to a vibrantly yellowish-teal as the light hit it just right.
Which kindly reminded me of how I used to see the world, I used to see it as black and white. Lots of things to me seemed to be either this or that. You're either with me or you're against me type of deal.
For example when I was young, even though I am a girl, I had a distaste for flowered dresses and baby dolls. If I ever saw any girl using either, I regarded them as irrational and somehow inherently bad.
With flowered dresses I thought that it was so vain to wear fake flowers. It seemed to me as a desperate attempt to get attention (😅🤦🏽♀️). But now I realize that fake flowers on a dress are alright and certainly NOT 100% a bad thing.
With the baby dolls, I thought, "Why would anyone like to play with a fake baby if you can interact with real humans?" I would even look down upon other little girls my age who would play with dolls and dismiss them as childish.
Now as an adult with daughters of my own, I realize that baby dolls are kinda useful 😄😄. It's just not practical to let a toddler play with a real baby!
Of course, now I realize my childish foolishness. 😊😊😊. Certainly it is not necessarily bad to wear fake flowered dresses, and it is NOT always equivalent to being vain and flirtatious.
See, many things are subjective. That's to say, you can have your own opinion about it and that's okay. For example **having a favorite color is subjective**.
On the other hand, when something is objective, that's when there's only one true answer. For example **facts are objective**.
*Some things are not black and white and it's okay to take a stand.*
As my young kids are starting to understand more and more everyday. I would like to illustrate to them the difference between 'Objective' and 'Subjective'.
What is fact and what is opinion.
It seems simple but as adults, we tend to think our opinions are absolutes and we risk sabotaging good friendships due to our unwillingness to understand that opinions are questionable. It's okay to question opinions.
That's why I find debates to be a healthy way to prove your reasoning and I wish more people would make the distinction between fact and opinion.
Some things are not definite and no human in this era is pure light nor complete darkness.
Thus, when we let light hit us, that is, when by God's grace we let virtues and facts guide us, just like that parakeet feather, we turn into a more attractive version of ourself.
Hence, may your feathers ever be so saturated with light!

When Strengths Are Weaknesses!
Oh! How easy it is to complain! It gives the illusion of something being done about all present dilemas.
It's funny how over the years I have become more aware of how inefficient whining actually is. Time after time, it always makes things worse and yet every once in a while I catch myself doing it. Hehe
I guess old habits die hard because I'm so cozy and warm in them, like my comfort zone blanket.
I have recently pinpointed and acknowledged my present strengths.
I had never really put much attention to them because I was too busy reacting to my never ending dichotomies. However, it caused me to realize, that many of my struggles have been created due to my strengths.
Sounds so counter intuitive and it kind of is. Allow me to explain.
I always thought my dilemas arose from me not being skilled enough and no matter how hard I tried to fix my weaknesses, the break-throughs were always few and far between.
For a while now, I had been frustrated at how my actions had not been producing new results.
For example, right after highschool I hit the ground running into the work force, trying to improve my financial situation. I worked myself hard and it usually paid off monetarily but I found myself exhausted all the time.
So, I quit that life and moved to another country after meeting and marrying my husband. I've learnt so much about culture, about people and about different living conditions.
However, no matter what I tried, I would still often find myself tired and lacking physical rest. "Well," I would ask myself, "What am I doing wrong? What is the weak link causing this?"
Now around that time, out of curiosity, I had taken an online personality test and to my surprise, I actually gained valuable perspective about myself.
I learnt that I tend to be ambitious about life! And that's when the lightbulb lit up.
Here I had been trying to figure out how to improve my sleeping skills (my weakness), which I thought I lacked, and yet this was not the root cause! The true cause for my chronic fatigue was my ambitions!
All those wonderful projects I wish to push forward...
Need to wait!
The earth wasn't built in one day and neither should my ambitions.
One could say ambitions are not a weakness because they can help get so much done, they can help push through the hardships and discomforts because dreams await on the other side. Somewhere in that distant future...
Sure, ambition is very useful but it can also be very destructive and that's the realization I've come to:
I need balance between my present self and the world I'm working to achieve for my future self.
**How do I plan on finding this balance?**
I will not so much focus on my weaknesses, but rather I will moderate my ambitions to allow for improvement on my weaknesses.
For if I'm always using my strengths as a crutch, I am never really using my weaknesses. And if I can't even truly use my weaknesses then when am I going to nurture them into strengths?
Exactly! I won't!
Also, I will work on building new habits. This will allow me to live more in the present moment because who doesn't become more aware of their enviroment when they're learning new skills?
Now, to all my ambitious junkies out there:
Know your limits, listen to your body as it lets you know when it needs rest.
Because it's not worth building a future in which you'll not be a part of.
I mean case in point:
Look at Steve Jobs, the guy worked himself to death for Apple. His potential was shortlived. He died young, in my opinion.
So, if you're really good at something, prevent it from taking over your life.
***Moderation is key!***
Instead of that "I'll never be good enough" mentality or lingering in bitterness, think of what you're already good at and figure out how that's preventing you from improving.
**Wishing you the best!**

A pinch of Compassion
Compassion is like a teardrop of happiness that lands on a seed and enables it to sprout. Like waking someone up from a deep sleep.
Some say compassion is charity, others that it is mercy. I say it is a beautiful combination of both.
Compassion is to sympathize with those struck with misfortune.
War, greed and illnesses always multiply the number of the disadvantaged around us.
Sometimes I wonder if wars would cease all together if compassion was taught to all peoples from a young age. Who knows? Maybe not, though, for we all have free will, yet, even a decrease in the number of wars would be a remarkable improvement.
Considering that even a small decrease in wars would prevent thousands and thousands of unnecessary and futile deaths. Deaths that have brought sadness to many.
I dream about it all the time. I wish that compassion could bring back someone's brother, another's father, an aunt or uncle, a sister or a cousin. I mean it in the sense of those unnecessary deaths not having occurred at all, had compassion kicked in and prevented them.
But that's the thing about life. Is it not? It is so fragile and irreplaceable. I guess that is why it is so valuable.
Everyone has heard the golden rule: "***Treat others the way you would like to be treated***."
It is the long way of saying: **Be compassionate**.
Be merciful and charitable to those in unfortunate states of life, as you would wish them to be with you when in that same situation.
That is what love is.
But why is it, then, that compassion is so lacking in our day and age?
Well because of another rule: "You can not give what you do not have."
As I observe the world around me, I can see a lack of self compassion.
Many lack empathy for others because they themselves do not have compassion for themselves.
This probably sounds strange but hear me out.
There are two ways to not have compassion for yourself.
You do everything for others and not yourself.
You do everything for your own benefit and not for others.
In the first case, compassion for others is shortlived and does not reach it's full potential because by not caring for yourself, your body quickly deteriorates into illness and you can no longer care for yourself nor others but rather you will need someone to care for you.
In the second case, by concentrating compassion only for yourself and not for others, you are actually not being truly compassionate with yourself because it will push away those who love you, leading to an unhappy life.
Like this study on happiness shows:
https://youtu.be/8KkKuTCFvzI
Compassion starts with yourself, then towards others.
**Hey Saplings!**
I hope you have been well! Because of St. Valentine's day, I thought it was fitting to write about compassion.
I'm in a busy season of my life right now, which has delayed some articles that I have lined up.
I guess it's the story of many grownups' lives. Busy. Busy. Busy. Hehe
Every once in a while, though, I'll go and read some of your articles. You will know I've passed by because I try to leave a meaningful and reciprocating comment or if I do not have time for a comment, I'll leave a tiny but meaningful tip.
On my part, I'll continue writing at my own pace. Since I appreciate being able to release my thoughts in article and freeing up space in my head. Lol.

Tiny Remarkable Accomplishments
Sometimes it's the little accomplishments that keep us going strong.
In light of this, I thought I'd share with you some of mine. Just in case you too might be going through similar struggles and need a teeny bit of encouragement.
Therefore...
**#1 True Friends:**
2020 kicked off with apathetic sentiments. Everyone was in a rush to **react** over irrelevant dramas like Trump's wall, Craig Wright's libel lawsuits, and the fleeting discomforts of a face mask.
Many years of redundancy had us going in a cycle of **static** thoughts. Monotony was king. Circular reasoning was queen.
Unfortunately, the world seemed to be begging for a monkey wrench and in hindsight a monkey wrench was glaring at us.
Yet we were all too occupied with our own troubles to forsee what was to come.
So, a fitting monkey wrench is what we got. **A novel coronavirus was unleashed throughout the world.**
With this unleashment, two major sentiments arose: ***Covid real vs. Covid hoax***.
Ever heard of hardships showing people's true colors?
Well, as I personally took the "Covid is real" path, what followed was the tragic loss of many so-called friends and acquaintances who became "Covid hoaxers". Their stubborn confirmation biases lead to irreparable damages to our relationships.
But despite the losses, there were a few friendships that shone. People who's true colors shone bright, despite adversity.
To those people, I tip my hat to you, for showing maturity when things got hard. For being there, during the difficulties.
**#2 A Precious New Arrival**:
The arrival of a healthy newborn after an alarming high risk pregnancy was an astounding experience. **A bag full of mixed emotions**.
Nine months worth of intense uncertainty, but thankfully, the pain and discomfort vanished and was replaced by a delicate being: a precious baby.
*Kindly read my article:* **A Newborn's Smile** https://read.cash/@lagrapefruit/a-newborns-smile-5c56e189
The connection between a mother and her child is filled with inmense emotions. Even more so when the stakes were high. For the more you give, the more you love.
Can anything compare the love between mother and child? It hardly seems so.
I guess once you become a parent, that love feels incomparable and it's an experience to remember for a lifetime.
**#3 Finding my voice:**
For the longest of time I had pondered over my identity, my priorities and what I should stand for.
It wasn't until I was deceived by those I thought had my back, that I was able to materialize what I stood for.
In all things, I want to stand for **justice**, for **honesty** and **charity**, for **compassion** and **mercy**. I also wish to encourage others to stand up for this too, as well as for many other virtues.
So, that's why I have started this "**La Grapefruit**" project which had been marinating in the back burner for about 4 years and it's finally beginning to materialize.
**#4 Overcame Food Intolerances:**
**Struggles** can bring out the best or the worst in us and avoiding them is impossible. Since we all live in this valley of tears. Yet I believe we should benefit from these struggles as **gems of learning experiences**.
My struggle with food intolerances is a real fight and a hard one.
Since it's not a full-on food allergy, life has gotten in the way and it's usually been put off for later. Until the inevitable has happened: the discomfort has turned unavoidable and something needed to be done.
That's the point I reached in 2020 and something was done.
After lots of research, I finally came to the conclusion that I needed a diet equally balanced in proteins, carbs and oils. With heavier proteins in the morning and leaner proteins in the evenings.
So the rice intolerance was overcome by adding butter and serving it with meat.
The raw banana and oatmeal intolerance was overcome by making banana-oatmeal pancakes.
The sugar/sweets intolerance was overcome by consuming meals before desserts.
And for whatever reason, adding sour cream to my meals also helped my digestion.
This might sound weird to some people but that's what I found works for me and diet fads are long gone for me because I've finally found a tailored way for consuming those foods I've been intolerant to.
So if you too are struggling with food intolerances, stick with the trial and error and soon you'll have your compensation!
**#5 Found Oregano Tea:**
And the last accomplishment I would like to mention is having found oregano tea benefits.
Of all the holistic things I've tried to help ease my indigestion, the one thing that I've without a doubt felt has made a difference is oregano tea.
*If you're interested on the benefits of oregano tea kindly read* @Purebeauty *'s informative article:*
**Oregano oil and oregano tea - benefits** https://read.cash/@Purebeauty/oregano-oil-and-oregano-tea-benefits-669443c8
I know you'll find it useful!
**Hey Saplings!**
I hope that you have found these personal accomplishments useful.
I don't know what you all are going through. However, I do want to encourage you for this new year to start with small accomplishments.
Which means:
***"Drop by drop the cup is filled."***
This metaphorically means that if you show up everyday to accomplish the little things, then eventually you'll reach your dreams!
Consistency is key. 👍

Ocean of Nostalgic Memories
Dear One-of-a-kind Pal,
If you're reading this, then our paths must have once crossed. Leaving an indistinguishable mark within me.
Please know, you've not been forgotten.
Your unique face appears near.
Here in my book of nostalgic memories.
A book full of shiny smiles and crystal tears.
I was honest with you then and
am honest with you now:
If ever you need
a shoulder to lean on,
a hand to hold,
an ear to hear...
Reach out and I'll be here.
To walk by your side
in this valley of tears.
Sincerely,
Your Nostalgic Homie
**Hey Saplings!**
Above is a small memorandum dedicated to those people who I remember keenly from my past and who at times, I have missed.
People who have become a part of my life experience, who I have looked up to, who have amused me with their stubborn uniquenesses or whom I have held dearly in my heart at one point in my life.
People who have seen something in me that at the time, I myself could not see.
Who have encouraged me to keep pushing.
Who have taken the time to dream with me.
The connection with them has made me who I am today. The trials we faced together and the constructive criticisms they showered on me, made me stronger.
Would that I could see them once more in person. I would first and foremost say, "Thanks".
Thanks for making me laugh with your witty jokes. They still tickle my brain even to this day.
Thanks for enjoying my ever so quiet presence. It's like you intuitively knew I needed the time to process everything that was being layed out before me and you were okay with that.
Thanks for trusting me even though I had a hard time trusting back. It was nothing personal and you knew that.
Many times did I wish to open up but saw that there just was not enough time to layout years worth of thoughts in one sitting, so I just kept silent and did a lot of listening instead.
I listened to your elegant hopes and dreams. I heard your delicate sorrows and felt them as my own.
Would that I have told you how much I cared. But in every instance, expressing my emotions made me feel vulnerable and I really wasn't ready for that.
Didn't know it then, but I still had some blooming to do.
As time passed, our dynamic paths went their separate ways.
In retrospective, I can see that it was inevitable, for we needed to keep growing. Keep maturing. Keep improving. For that's what being alive is about.
Wish that we could meet now once more, though.
Wish that I could ask you so many things and tell you so much more.
Yet, our current circumstances prevent us. Like an invisible barrier, preventing what once was.
Should that barrier be broken, though?
I guess it depends.
It depends on our life goals. On the finite amount of time and energy allotted to every single one of us.
Maybe, it's still not the right time.
Therefore, I commit to keeping my door open for you. If ever a wrong turn is made and you get lost out there, I'll be here, waiting to see how I can assist.
Because if ever I'm in the same predicament, I'd hope someone would be there in an instant to lend a gentle but firm hand. To be there, at my lowest. To get me out of the hole I've fallen into.
And to be honest, I actually have had that honor:
To be lifted up when tripped and fallen.
I wish I'd reach out sooner but maybe I was just scared to find out that life has eroded us unrecognizable and the connection that once was, might not ever be again.
Though, where there is life, there is hope and that's what I've chosen to cling to.

Remarkably Peculiar Christmas in Mexico 2020
Impressible fluffy snow associates to December, who in turn associates to Christmas time.
Up North, it's common for December to shower thousands of white fluffy snowflakes. Which turn into crunchy snow! :)
Anything directly coated in snow quickly looks like it's been frozen in time.
If there's no snow, or Christmas tree, or presents, is it still Christmas?
***OF COURSE IT IS!***
To my surprise Mexico is slightly different though.
Instead of icy snow we have these beautiful and vivid flowers during the winter time.
So, if you don't need snow to celebrate Christmas, then what is Christmas?
*Showing the true meaning of Christmas is the nativity scene tradition.*
This wonderful tradition represents the Holy Family in the manger, along with the 3 wise kings, the angel and the shepherds. Before the 25th the baby cradle is empty and waiting for the arrival of the prophesied Messiah.
Then on the 25th baby Jesus occupies the cradle, since the 25th of December is the commemoration of the magnificent birth of the Son of God.
Christmas time is an experience that unites the entire family. Yet this year is tremendously different.
Because of an unexpected virus, many this year have without a doubt, been forced to celebrate alone.
Yet is this really a bad thing? Because personally, I see that it's opened the door to a bit of needed silence.
Silence that allows for a bit of contemplation.
Contemplation on this awestriking mystery.
A mystery full of love and mercy:
**The birth of Our Lord and Saviour, Christ, The King of Kings.**
**Hey Saplings!**
For those who've read up to this point. Thank you! You've just joined me in an observation on Christmas. As I've grown older, I feel like people are losing touch on the true meaning of Christmas.
Christmas is not once a year, it represents a lifestyle that should be kept alive throughout the year. Love others as God has shown His love to us! 😊😊😊

Hi! I'm New Around Here ;)
Hello! Hello! Read.cash enthusiasts!
It's my 1 month anniversary here on read.cash.
**Allow me to introduce myself:**
I go by @lagrapefruit
I chose this as my username because grapefruits are bittersweet and I couldn't help but think that life is just like that: Bittersweet.
My slongan is "*Missing in Action*" because often times I catch myself lost in thought.
It's something I've been working to avoid though, because I really want to live in the moment and appreciate things right now. To appreciate what is in front of me.
However, some of those deep thoughts and feelings I've written down as articles here.

The day I lived a Druglord Blockade (Narco Bloqueo)
A simple glance out the window showed the sky being near crystal clear and through the window the sun kissed my rosy cheeks, which released a feeling of graciousness inside.
I sprung out of bed and got ready for work. An hour of commute time away from home.
Without a second thought, I went about the unremarkable routine of getting ready.
I still remember what I wore that day: a cream colored oversized knit top, with a midi grey skirt and grey vans shoes. In all my outfits I seek comfort and flexibility, to compensate for out of the ordinary situations that may call for a quick sprint.
Well, out the door I went and onto the bus stop I waited.
While I waited, I could feel loud mexican music vibrating in my eardrums as my bus drove up.
The long line of bus regulars slowly climbed on board. Being at the front of the line, I took the opportunity to sit in the front seats. It made it easier to see my destination ahead of time and prepare to push through (if I had to) towards the exit doors.
Halfway through my way to work, the bus driver starts conversing with someone over the radio frequency.
"How strange," I thought.
The only times I've seen bus drivers chime in over the radio is when their bus had broken down and they needed to call for help. So I got that gut feeling, telling me there was something out of whack. But what?
Needless to say, my heart started pounding faster, my muscles tensed up and all of a sudden I seemed to be aware of every peculiarity. But why was I the only one who was really picking up that there was something off, I looked behind me and the rest of the passengers weren't intrigued at all.
A mile later and we were met with a slight traffic jam. The bus driver was able to get us off his regular route on to an alternative route and then back again some time later. Only to then come to a complete halt.
He turns around and yells, "All right guys, buses are being hijacked and being burnt down. I've been given the okay to release you guys and go back to headquarters, I don't want to risk my bus or my life."
(See this video of a bus which was burnt down. Thankfully, not the one I was in.)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sNlTMFk5DXE
What?! The surrealness of the situation triggered the sensation of being in a scripted movie, all we lacked was the dramatic suspenseful music in the background.
Off the bus we went. I watched as the bus drove off onto an unfamiliar alley, avoiding the well trafficked highway.
As my attention came back to reality, I realized we'd been kicked off the bus and now were stranded with nothing but some lunch money. Which wasn't enough for a taxi, though not that it mattered, all the taxis available were either not stopping or they were already taken.
Federal Police pickup trucks were driving back and forth with their sirens flashing blue and red. In the back of the patrol trucks were Federal policemen wearing bulletproof vests and carrying big guns. They were looking for the perpetrators: The Jalisco Cartel members who were liable for this.
Now, I had to choose, either I walked to my job or returned home and guess what I chose to do?
I WENT HOME lol. I mean I'm a good employee and everything, but I'm just not thaaaaaat dedicated. 😅😅😅
So, I crossed the highway through the available pedestrian bridges. On the way over a man caught up with me to say hi. It turned out we worked together, though I just hadn't recognized him because he was a new hire. I was glad to have someone to talk to, since all this uncertainty was intense.
Would there be some sort of shootout?
As we got to the other side and we waited to see if buses were still coming, I searched for places to hide in case of gunfire. After a while though, no gunfire, yet the police had two young men in handcuffs, with a small red gasoline tank as evidence.
I couldn't help but feel astonished. All my life, Narcos were these big, dark and horrifying drug mafia. Yet here we were and these handcuffed young men looked like everyday pedestrians.
And that's when I realized: they're just men. All these Narcos are just that, they're just men.
They don't have superpowers, they can't read your mind, they don't know it all. It's just that at one point they took the wrong path and have since been making horrific decisions and many lives have been lost because of it. However, as long as these Narcos are still alive, they have free will.
They're free to, at any point, turn around and make good choices again.
Sure, it'll be super difficult, due to all the crime entanglement they've been involved in, but it'll be worth it because as a Narco, they're risking their lives, all for earthly power and wealth, which they'll not take with them after death.
Now, I needed to get home but my bus route was no where in sight. This was when my co-worker and I decided we should start walking home. Both lived in the same direction, which was consoling, since it was going to be a 3 hour and 20 minute walk.
At this point there wasn't any sensation of fear, since we were walking away from the blockade and I knew that as soon as I'd be home, I'd be safe. Plus I had the rest of the day off.
Thankfully, a generous pickup driver was offering pedestrians a lift in the back of his vehicle and we climbed on board. We were all dropped off at the same location, a bus route towards home was available and I took it, parting ways with my co-worker.
Eventually, I was able to catch a taxi and since I was closer to home I was able to afford it with the lunch money I'd had with me. A quarter of an hour later and I was home. Safe and sound!
Later I found out that Cartel Jalisco had retaliated against the government for the arrest of its 10 members. Whom they wanted released immediately.
The only people who suffered casualties from the attacks were the military. A military airforce helicopter was shot down with 18 on board. 3 deaths and 12 injured.
This is usually the general rule, those who are involved with the cartel one way or another, are the ones who suffer casualties. If ever you come to Mexico, stay away from drugs, druglords and bars.
Stay away from the wrong crowd and you'll stay safe from many dangers.
A valuable rule to live by!
If ever you meet someone involved in organized crime in your regular day to day, encourage them to walk away from that life. A life full of betrayal, health damage or even death. No money, No power in the world, can buy you a peace of mind than to live an honest life.

A Newborn's Smile
The blessing and breath of fresh air of a new soul is indescribably fascinating. Words are insufficient and lacking.
For the newly born goes from making drowsy faces in the first couple of weeks, barely able to stay awake, to then transitioning to bewilderment at the glimpse of this new world they've been brought into.
Then the remarkable day comes when they recognize you and suddenly let loose a big old toothless smile. A sweet glass full of pure genuineness.
Never has anyone been so happy to see you and their lack of composure considerably shows it.
Their arms and legs fling in excitement and just as quick as it began, it ends and their face goes newborn expressionless again.
For the observant mother, this flight of emotion is forever stored in her tender heart and wonders at this new soul's potential.
Who will they become? What will they discover? Who will break their heart and how will they cope? Will they be understood? Will they impact the hearts of those who cross their path? And how will this be?
At this point only the wise Creator knows.
Yet if a mother's refined intuition is at hand, she can almost slightly forecast into the future just by observing her younster's strengths, weaknesses and inclinations.
Hoping that when the right time comes, she may proactively steer that new soul toward the good path. Like a rod is suitable for a vulnerable brand new sapling.
It's a valid fear to be a stumbling block for your child. To be the reason for their straying away. Although this may be true in many cases, remember that setting the example is an excellent antidote. It's a simple concept, yet hard to persevere in because of our fallen nature. Seek that balance.
Fight and accept the challenge, this must be done, for the success of this new soul that has been placed under our protection.
The joy new borns generate in life is immense. However, the responsibility is also immense.
Strength will be needed to stick to this nobel ambition to the end: To be a positive role model. As well as love, love for this new soul will achieve perseverance. Self improvement will not only benefit the parent, but will also benefit this incredible new soul.
Yet, never forget the imperfections, better to have them on sight and remain humble than forget and lose sight of the humble path.
A letter to my newborn:
New soul, may you forever seek justice and without a second thought show mercy unto others.
May charity and humility guide your heart, no matter how broken it may get.
Let compassion be your sword and faith be your shield.
Let not sin take root in your heart because it will destroy and crush you without mercy.
That in all things God may be glorified.
Remember you're just human and many things you cannot change. But if you change what you can for the better, compensation will be yours.
In the scale of justice may your good fruits overflow your bad ones.
Seek not unnatural amounts of happiness here on earth, for it is unsustainable and will lead to depression and despair.
Be willing to ask, for it's been promised that you shall receive.
And may you receive all that will keep you in the state of grace for all eternity.
Love, Mom."
**Hey Saplings!**
Thanks for enjoying this moment of vulnerability with me as I lay open my heart to my children.

10 Didn't Knows About Mexico as a Mex-American (Part 2)
FAMILY. The noun that describes Mexico as a nation. For everyone is paralleled to an extended relative, with the word, "Mijo or Mija" which translates to, "My son or My daughter."
Other similar phrases like these are also used:
Primo/Prima = Cousin
Jefe/Jefa = Boss (In the sense of a Parent being the boss, like Mom and Dad.)
Carnal/Carnala = Brother/Sister
The vendors, the neighbors, your friends and sometimes even co-workers will use these nouns to address you, whether you're a relative or not.
To truly understand this concept of the Mexican nation, one has to understand the origins of Mexico as a Catholic Nation and with that comes the virtue: Charity.
Charity is Love and Catholic Nations enforce the Golden Rule:
"Treat others the way you want to be treated."
How is that? Well, most of us would like to be treated like family and therefore, Mexicans have the tradition of calling everyone "Mijo". Which immediately classifies you as family.
Therefore, as I had promised you my dear Saplings, I'll continue with part 2 of What surprised me of the Mexican culture as a Mex-American.
**#6 Self Deprecating Humor**
It's worth recognizing that Mexicans find humor in many things and we're very playful.
I actually learned to genuinely laugh while in Mexico because in the states, for the most part, I'd only smile or attempted half-hearted laughs at what people called, "Pranks" of which most were not funny at all. For example the ringing the doorbell and running away to me just wasn't funny.
My favorite type of Mexican humor is the self deprecating humor. I really love that Mexicans are so open to laughing at themselves about their imperfections. It keeps a nation humble and down to earth.
Now I do want to mention that I have found another community whose humor has tickled my brain. That community is the crypto community. So thanks for that!
**#7 Scammers**
In the Metropolitan area of Guadalajara the bus transportation system gets you pretty much every where and every once in a while during your course to your destination, a person in financial trouble will get on board and shout out their troubles, they will then extend their hand out to those who are willing to give for their cause.
Now, I'm not saying that everyone that asks for help on the bus, is a scammer. However, It's common knowledge that there are people who, without remorse, will fake their story and make money off the compassionate. 😔
**#8** 🎉 **Loud Parties** 🎉
People here like to party loud and proud. Which is to no surprise, it's a Mexican stereotype. However, what's truly intriguing is the neighbors' tolerance level, it's exceptionally high because when it's their turn to celebrate, they'll crank up the music just as loud and enjoy themselves too.
Not to mention that the police won't really do anything about it, if they were to complain. Lol.
**#9 Tejuino**
Fermentation. Not for everyone and not everyone does it right. Tejuino is particular to Jalisco and it's peculiar because it's a handmade craft, no one has successfully commercialized the process of making it.
However, when you find a vendor that makes it just right, the fermented beverage bubbles like soda. It's sweet, sour and salty all at once.
**#10 Unpolitically Correct at the Grass Roots Level**
Having grown up walking on eggshells and ocasionally defying political correctness. I found a breath of fresh air down south.
Because political correctness is a Marxist idea and Mexicans have Catholic roots which oposes Marxism, then political correctness is not a big thing here at the local level.
Though the government will push for political correctness, it just gets shrugged off by the locals.
I like that people are willing to talk about the hard issues and take a stand. This prevents the build up of bitterness in a nation.
**And there you go, my saplings!**
Thanks for allowing me to unload my thoughts on what surprised me when I moved to Mexico. It's been a fantastic journey and I truly enjoy writing to you about it.

10 Didn't Knows About Mexico as a Mex-American (Part 1)
UNIQUE. The adjective that describes two distinct cultures. Why is it that even though we're all humans, we aren't all very much alike?
For you go to another country and find strange pecularities. Particular characteristics, ideas, and values that are associated to an exclusive group of people.
Mexico is no different and today, my saplings, allow me to touch upon 10 things that took me by surprise as I observed this nation as a Mex-American.
**#1 Less of an Up Tight Appearance**
Growing up in the Northwest I remember being impressed with just how picture perfect most people looked. Women straightened or curled their hair and frizz is almost the worst thing that could happen to anyone. Both men and women sought to wear name brand clothes.
All this with the impulse to keep up with the Jonases.
People in Mexico, however, have more natural looking appearances. Ladies wear their hair long and it comes in many different textures and colors. Looks are not about looking perfect, it's more about looking like yourself.
It almost seems like mexicans care more about what's inside, rather than looks.
**#2 The Best Salesmen**
Mexican flea market salesmen are loud and proud.
As you go through long the flea market division, the merchants will yell into the air, "Pasele! Pasele!" which is, "Come! Come!". Then they'll use very impresive adjectives to lure you into buying.
For example if you're a lady they'll say to you, "Hermosa, Mi niña, or Muchacha etc." which is, "Beautiful, My girl, or Young Lady etc."
With men they'll say, "Jefe" which is "Boss".
This builds up rapport very quickly and you're more willing to buy with them instead of other vendors. It's an intelligent sales tactic and I know it's worked on me in the past.
**#3 The Flavorful Food**
This one is a given. The food tastes so much better here than in the states. I don't know if it's that here you walk around more therefore you're hungrier, or if the food is just so rich in flavor in and of itself.
I believe it's both.
However, I do want to emphasize just how remarkable Mexican chefs are at integrating herbs and seasonings to their food.
My go to is always the street taco. Never gets old!
**#4 Affectionate**
Ever been in a situation where you finally get to see a loved relative that you hadn't seen in years and the impulse you get is to go up and hug them or kiss them hello to let them know how happy you are to see them once more after so many years?
Well that's what it's like here. Except they're not related to you at all. LOL. Yet, they're happy to see you and include you.
**#5 Unlawful Under the Table**
Rules, laws and restrictions. Every country has them. However, laws in Mexico are not the end all be all because there's an unwritten rule that if the law goes against the natural law, it can be broken.
So, for example: It's unlawful in Guadalajara for there to be street vendors in certain parts of the city. Yet, we see the street vendors selling anyway but because they are doing so to make a living and survive, then they're cut some slack. Although, every once in a while, for whatever reason, the city cracks down on these unlawful vendors but they always sneak back after the dust settles.
Well, my saplings, it's really fascinating to experience a culture unmistakeably different than the one I grew up in and it's even more enjoyable writing to you about it.
