Hello, everyone. I am here again at your phone screen wasting your time ๐.ย Just kidding. I just hope you find my articles interesting enough to be invested in your time.
Anyway, let me start this article with one question, how old are you?ย
Some of you are maybe in their teenage years, 20โs, 30โs, 40โs, 50โs or even 100โs ๐. Some of you may lie about your real age because you don't want someone to know that you are too old.
At that age you are currently in, are you living your life to the fullest? or you're just wasting your time thinking about your regrets and past mistakes in life thus scaring you to go out again to your comfort zone?
Sorry for asking so many questions. I just want you to have a short reflection as it will help you to understand and relate to the topic further.
In the past few days, Nas Daily became involved in an issue where he allegedly exploits Whang-Od, a famous ancient tattoo maker here in the Philippines.ย
I searched on the web what happened since I want to hear the two sides of the story. However, I stumbled on this one video of Jessica Soho.
I clicked on it and watched the video. In the middle of the interview, Jessica Soho asked Nas Daily about the behind story and concept of his shirt.
If you're an avid watcher of this guy, you can notice in almost all of his videos, his t-shirt shares one design;ย a percentage bar.ย
Well, I didn't notice it before since I am not observant but thanks to Ms. Jessica for pointing it out.ย
Nas Daily explained that the percentage shown on his clothes represents how long he lived in this world and how many are left before he dies.ย
He further explains that to get your life percentage, you should divide your current age by the average life expectancy in your country, and then multiply it by 100.ย
Here in the Philippines, the average life expectancy is 71.10 years old. So, if I divide my age, which is 19,ย to that number and multiply it to 100,ย I will get 26%. That shows that I already used 26% of my life and I have 74% left! Well, it still depends on how healthy you are, on what's your lifestyle, and how likely you have gone through unfortunate scenarios.
What did you get? Let me know in the comment section.
I suddenly asked myself, where and how did I use the 26% of my life?ย
To be honest, the majority of my life only revolves around school and home. I am uncomfortable trying out new things and tend to stay in my comfort zone.ย
I tried going out with friends but most of the time just to eat and have a short chit chat. Well, I became drunk and wasted one time but that just happened this year, and I promised to never do it again.ย ย ย
I was like, geez how boring I am. Especially since this pandemic happened, my connection to my friends became weaker since we had no choice but to stay in our house. I often say no to our getaways since I am still anxious to go outside because of COVID-19. Aside from that, I have an introverted personality which explains my actions.ย
I also spent my life thinking what other people may think and say if I do this particular stuff. I am restricted from showing my true self because I am scared to be judged. If you read my article titled, https://read.cash/@kli4d/my-childhood-friends-put-me-through-hell-6adacff5, this is maybe the reason for my current personality.ย
Regardless, I am currently working on improving myself. Who are they to dictate what I should do? Are they the Father? The son? The Holy Spirit? Are they the Amen? I realized that I shouldn't give a f/uck.
Am I enjoying my life?ย
Probably, no. Not because I am not satisfied and grateful for my life but because I believe I can do more, however due to various factors, I am controlled to live my life to the fullest.ย
Since I am 26% of my life, I feel that it's still lacking. It feels like I missed different fun moments and happy memories.ย
You know the feeling that most of your life is just plain and boring. Nothing exciting and new.ย
Why should you see life this way?
I believe you should see your life this way because it gives you a more realistic point of view of how long you are living in this world. Because for me, if I continue to think that I am 19ย instead of 26% years old, I tend to take things for granted. I will have this mentality that I am still young and I should not be worried about anything.ย
Seeing your life this way will make you realize that life is too short and you should live to the fullest.
Aside from that, you'll be more appreciative of other people's lives including your parents. My father is at 59 percent, while my mother is 60 percent of her original age. Knowing their life expectancy, I'll be mindful that they're becoming older and that I need to express my love for them.

Oh my... I will not post the % hahaha. You younger people should definitely enjoy life to the fullest even with the pandemic in our midst.
