Yeah I know, I have been talking a lot about readcash recently but I feel I have to share this with you all today because I honestly care about this platform. This wasn't what I planned on writing today but I believe it's something that will go a long way in sustaining readcash and help increase its lifespan.
My previous article talked about the possibility of readcash going down in the near future and a comment by Powest caught my attention. The comment is quite lengthy but I will post a screenshot of the main point of his comment. If you haven't read the article yet, then I encourage you to check it out here
The "he" in the above screenshot is Marc De Mesel and according to Powest, he said that and also a lot of other things in a video he watched on YouTube. Contrary to what I mentioned in the previous article, Marc isn't going to abandon readcash (at least for now), I will get to the details about that later on but right now I have one question:
Why do you not tip?
Tipping is one of the things I learned from the old users here when I newly joined this platform. Jane, FarmGirl, Tiredmomma, PrincessBusayo, and HappyBoy were the people I looked up to when I was still a baby. They earn very high on their articles and I was like; "what's their secret?", So I decided to study them.
I discovered that they were very active and they tipped other users a lot, so I copied that as well and started tipping too and became more active, and did it work for me? Absolutely! Till now I still tip any article I visit and all the comments in my articles are always tipped, it's just a practice I have gotten used to after several months.
I do that because I realize the importance of giving back to the community, even when I do it in a little way. I use an average of $1 to tip daily, sometimes it's higher than that and it all depends on how many articles I visit in a day as well as the number of comments on my article; the higher the number, the higher the amount I used for tipping.
Most top users use more than that in a day, it can be as high as $5! Back when we used to have the top tippers list, you would have seen people that have used more than $100 to tip in just 30 days.
The point I am trying to make is that the amount used for tipping is usually very small, so why not take out just a little from what the platform has given you and give it to others?
I started tipping even when I used to earn $10 in a month (yeah I was once there 😆). I remembered it was my first month here and I have wasted two weeks doing the wrong thing but I finally learned the right way of doing things but I had just around $3 in my wallet, and I was still tipping. I knew my strength so I tailored my tips to fit what I had in my wallet, after all you have to cut your coat according to your cloth.
The reason why I made mention of my "$10 a month" days is that one excuse I have heard people make for not tipping is because they are not earning enough to do that, but I don't think that's really an excuse. You don't have to give out $0.5, you can give as little as $0.01 and you don't even have to do it on every article you read.
How hard can it be? You're just giving out a very small percentage of what the platform has given you, just see it as a tax you're not obligated to pay but have to do so out of courtesy or maybe you will like to see it as an offering, whatever one works for you just take it that way.
I don't know if it will have an effect or not on the lifespan of this platform, but it won't hurt if we try, right? I mentioned earlier that Marc isn't going to abandon the platform or give up on BCH for now and that's because of one of his videos I am watching on YouTube.
It was a live video he did some days ago on YouTube and I am currently watching it. I am still 30 minutes into the video and I still have over an hour left (yeah it's very long 😆). He mostly talked about the recent crypto market crash and he made a few remarks about BCH. If you're interested in watching the video, check it out below
In conclusion, we all should endeavor to tip other users whenever we can, it's simply not cool if you're just receiving without giving back to the system. I would have loved it if they brought back the old badge system where the top 50 tippers had badges next to their names, at least it made people tip more while they try to get a badge. A lot of us know why it had to be removed and no, I am not going to say it 😆.

It's sad but it's true. A lot of people are leaving comments but not tipping. It's understanble for newbies to do something like that. But sadly, some old-timers still don't get the benefits of being generous. I think tipping will also benifit the BCH ecosystem (or whatever you call it). I believe tipping will help increase the daily transaction volume thus MIGHT help improve the price of BCH.
Commenting here is just part of "engaging". But I think tipping is just as essential. I believe Rusty love to give to generous tippers
