Nigerian Politics - A Circus of Clowns
Over ***the years, my country, Nigeri***a, has experienced the highest level of bad leadership and one of the worst in the world.
After our **independence**, we have *transitioned* from a democratic government to a military government and vice versa. But they all have one thing in common—the glaring trait of bad leadership.
The days when we were ruled by the *military* were a time when the heads of state directed *money* meant for the country into their domestic or foreign personal accounts .
A notable example is Maj. **General Sani Abacha**. The man stole to the extent that the wife of the general came out publicly, 20 years after the husband had died, to say that **"no matter how poor I am, I can never be as poor as Dangote".**
I hope y'all know who Dangote is. *He's the richest man in Africa.*
She boasted that she could never be as poor as the richest man in Africa.
That's to say that the husband emptied the national coffers when he was in office.
That's in the past though.
The present has not been any better, it seems to be worse than the past. Because we are *no longer* in the era where a *coup d'etat* puts someone into office, we are now in an era where we elect people into certain governmental offices to represent us.
So far, we've elected a lot of people into political positions, but they've left us with nothing other than disappointments. Their tenures haven't lived up to the slightest of expectations. Their achievements are nowhere near what was written in their manifestos.
They are proving to be even worse than the military heads of state.
Just recently, the *Accountant General of the Federation* was nabbed for carting away over **$160 million**, meant for projects that would improve the standard of living and help the country progress. Moreover, the Academic Staff Union of Universities and Polytechnics embarked on a strike due to a salary dispute that this amount of money would have solved. But, instead, one man wired it into his personal account, leaving students to rot at home.
Why should they even care? Their children don't attend school or reside here, they attend schools in countries with a functional educational system and healthcare. That's quite pathetic.
The ***2023 general election*** is already around the corner, and with the full implementation of the delegate system by political parties, politicians now share money publicly with delegates in order to buy their votes. It's not even regarded as a crime; it's considered a regular occurrence.
This also has its own repercussions, as they would have to recuperate and recover the funds they've spent before thinking of investing in the country.
Also, while other developing countries are tilting towards the path of development, my country is becoming an expert in backwardness.
Next year's election wouldn't be any different from other elections as the two main parties, who have not produced any worthy leaders, will come out on top, but let's keep hoping for a change. If at all, it will come.
The last president to promise us a change is rapidly becoming the worst president in the history of the nation.

Twitter or Instagram, Which Do You Prefer?
I've been so busy and occupied in recent days, coupled with the fact that I have been experiencing severe light outage in my place. I heard something blew in the transformer, and I'm not sure how long the repair will take. I hope they rectify it soon.

WHAT IS TWITTER?
Twitter is a **microblogging** platform whose primary purpose is to connect people and enable them to share their thoughts with a larger audience. It was created by Jack Dorsey in 2006.
WHAT IS INSTAGRAM?
Instagram is an online image and video sharing platform that allows users to edit and upload pictures and videos alongside other features that come with microblogging platforms, such as bookmarking and private messaging.
My Take
**Purpose**
I have been on both platforms for over 5 years now and all I have to say is that, your preference depends on the reason or **purpose** for which you want to use them.
For instance, if you are a business owner who wants to **publicize** his or her business by occasionally posting **images** of goods and services, Instagram is the best app to use in this case.
Interaction also takes place on Instagram, but it's quite rare unlike Twitter.
**Diversity**
Twitter, on the other hand, is more diversified than Instagram. Other than pictures, Twitter can also be used to share messages, links and a host of other things.
**Interaction** on Twitter is more advanced than that on Instagram. A lot of people familiarize with each other on there.
I prefer Twitter over Instagram due to its **diversity**, most especially its **advanced** mode of interaction amongst **members** of the platform.
There's also a popular observation that people on Twitter are more ***rational*** than those on Instagram, and it's nothing short of the truth.
A post that goes **against** a universal principle of life might be posted on Instagram and it meets no negative reaction, but once it's posted on Twitter, everybody seems to have rational opinions and criticisms regarding the case at hand.
Twitter also comes with its disadvantages because everybody seems to have an opinion on there regardless of whether it's right or wrong. A notable example is @DanielRegha on Twitter. The guy has an opinion on virtually all topics.
So which do you prefer? **Instagram** or **Twitter**

Pain
Today's one of those days I have felt pained as a football fan. The transfer of the **missing piece** in the puzzle that would have led to a **dynasty**, broke down today.
It was really painful because I never expected it to happen. Nobody did.
Long before now, he had already **professed** his love for the club, stating how it was his **childhood** dream to play for one of the **biggest** clubs in the world.
LIFE HAPPENED
He delayed his transfer and refused to opt in for a contract extension. His current club kept improving his contract but he declined and refused to sign up for a contract extension. We made a bid which would have been the highest for a player with **a year** left on his contract and the **second highest** in the **history** of football, but his club turned it down, stating that he wasn't for sale and would definitely extend his contract.
This move gave us the slightest of hope that he was going to sign for us, but it was never going to happen.
REALITY
We never knew that he was using us as bait to renegotiate his contract for a higher fee. When the transfer saga that led to his extension began, we matched his club "Money for Money."
At a stage, it became more of a bidding war, characterized by **improved contracts**, renegotiated **image rights**, and **sign-on** bonuses.
Although we knew from the outset that we were going to **give up** at some point in the bidding war because the club we were competing with for his signature was a French-based, Qatari-backed firm. They had the money in **excess**.
We though that his passion would take the better of him and cause him to sign the contract, but it turned out to be a wrong notion.
**Money** was **definitely** going to beat **Passion**..
MONEY OVER PASSION
We offered all we could offer, but the amount the opposing club offered dwarfed and belittled our offer. It was literally **double** the amount we agreed to pay him.
He kept us waiting for months, using us as bait to renegotiate his salary to astronomical figures. He finally succeeded and ended up ditching our club and staying with his current one.
WHAT WE HAD TO OFFER
We offered to make him the **center** of our project as one of the biggest clubs in the World and also a **decent** salary but his current club offered more.
They offered a **better** salary package and the privilege of **selecting** coaches and handpicking players.
There's no way we can offer that kind of package considering the fact that we are way bigger and more established than his current club.
WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
We are left with no other option than to develop the talents we have at our disposal. It's really a hard nut to swallow, but we have no choice at this point.

Four (4) Daily Needs, without which we cannot function properly
Man is bound to have needs, but there are some daily needs without which we cannot function properly. They ought to be satisfied for proper functioning of a whole man.
1. Life
Before we think of functioning, we must first of all be a **living entity** because the **dead** don't have needs. Life is something that is **supernaturally** given to us, along with the power to maintain it. One needs to be *alive* in order to function properly or do activities that are as a result of the proper functioning of our physical and mental selves, such as writing articles on Readcash, watching football, etc.
2. Food
Life has been given to us and the power to maintain life has also been granted alongside. **One** of the ways in which we can maintain our life and function properly is by **eating**. There's a popular saying that a **hungry man** is an **angry man,** and that is, without a doubt, true. I personally do have mood swings whenever I'm hungry. I tend to get easily angry at petty things, and things do change the moment I eat to my satisfaction. Our actions daily, are a **function** of our brain, and lack of food deprives the brain of essential nutrients necessary for it to function properly, which in turn affects our daily activities.
3. MOBILE DATA
This may sound **strange**, but it's nothing short of the truth. We live in a world where **almost everything** is done on the internet, and the lack of data can deny us access to it. At a stage in my life, I become broke to the extent that I can't even get some things for myself, but one thing I **wouldn't lack**, regardless of how broke I am, is **Mobile** **data**. Our lives literally depend on the internet, especially in this period of time when school isn't in session.
4. PRAYERS
Prayer is the **strength** of the weak. It's believed that whatever happens in the physical is a manifestation of the happenings in the world of the Spirit. There are a lot of things that happen on earth that only the **metaphysical** can explain. So we need prayers to battle through life. It prevents unnecessary events from happening to us here on Earth. I have experienced, I have heard stories, and I will continue to testify of the goodness of God in my life. Prayers are our daily bread; they help us get through life.

LGBTQ Community And Freedom Of Expression.
What is the **LGBTQ**?
LGBTQ stands for *Lesbian*, *Gay, Bisexual, Transgender,* and *Queer.* They are a community of people who choose to express sexuality differently from the "**natural and biblical**" way. For instance, gays are men who are **sexually** attracted to men, and lesbians are females who are sexually attracted to fellow females.
ORIGIN OF THE TOPIC
On the 14th of May, it was reported that **PSG midfielder Idrissa Gueye** missed out on their game vs Montpellier due to the Rainbow Inscriptions on the teams' shirts, showing **support** for the *LGBTQ* community.
It was also reported that the League asked that he **tender** an **apology** if he originally planned on boycotting the game because of his detest for the LGBTQ community.
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR OUR FREEDOM OF EXPRESSION.
This has caused an **uproar** on the internet because a lot of people across the globe, the majority of whom are **Christians** and **Muslims**, believe that the tenets of LGBTQ go **against** their *beliefs*.
Idrissa Gueye is a **devout** Muslim who thinks that the practice of the community goes against his belief as a Muslim and Wearing a jersey with the colors of the community riddled over it, implies that he has shown his unalloyed *support* for the community.
In the fight against racism in football, the **knee-bend** before a game policy was introduced. Most persons keyed into it, but some others choose not to. This goes beyond individual players because some big clubs across Europe also choose not to kneel before the start of a game.
**Nothing** was done to them, **nobody** asked them to **tender** apologies because in as much as Racism is a general topic, people can choose to support the movement or not. it's their **Right**.
In recent times, The Western society and the press have shown massive support for the LGBTQ community, and that has really helped the growth of the community.
But **right** now,
the importance of Freedom of expression cannot be overemphasized.
The support for the community is a bit extreme. The fact that one is **indifferent** to something doesn't mean that he doesn't like it. He just ain't in support. "You could do your thing, but I'm just indifferent."
The same goes for the kneeling before the game tradition. The fact that one chooses not to kneel down doesn't mean that the person is racist. He/she could choose to be **indifferent** about it for personal reasons.
Demanding a ***public apology*** from someone because he chose not to support a movement that goes against his personal beliefs is a bit **extreme**. It simply means that everybody is being **forced** to accept and integrate the mentality into our various societies regardless of whether it's *in line* with our beliefs or not.
The community has really chosen to force their beliefs on the members of any society they find themselves in and then cry foul when they are not accepted.

This has recently caused a feud between **FIFA** and the **2022 World Cup host** nation, **Qatar**. The Nation made it clear that they won't be entertaining any LGBTQ guests during the World Cup, as the practice is against their belief. If they want to attend, they could choose to attend either as a **male** or a **female**, and wait till they get back home before exercising the option of practicing any **sexuality** of their choice.
Qatar, on the other hand, has a point because one cannot leave one's homeland to tell the **United States not** to practice *LGBTQ*. They wouldn't agree because they believe it's right for them to practice it.
You can't go and do what's not acceptable in someone else's land and then cry foul when you are not accepted.
I'm not in anyway trying to be homophobic, but all I'm saying in essence is that, the community shouldn't force their ideology on anybody because before they came, there were already existing, universal and biblical standards.
Forcing Idrissa to tender an apology is an infringement on his freedom of expression.

Benefits of Multilingualism.
According to Science Direct:
Multilingualism is generally understood to mean knowledge of more languages than a native language. It is a language term that moves from monolingualism (knowing one language) beyond bilingualism (knowing two languages) into the realm of knowing many, or multiple, languages.
At childhood, multilinguals acquire and maintain at least one language, which is known as the ***first language (L1)***. The first language is sometimes acquired without formal education.
Children may also acquire two languages natively, and are called **Simultaneous Bilingual.**
Over time, they tend to learn the official language of the country in school. For instance, my country, Nigeria, has over ***350 tribes*** and each tribe has its unique language. In order to foster unity amongst each tribe, a common language known as the **Lingua Franca** was chosen for effective communication amongst Nigerian citizens from different tribes. The *Lingua Franca* in Nigeria is **English**.
It's taught as a course to students at all levels of education, and it's a prerequisite for getting a pass in any college entrance examination in Nigeria.
Beyond the tribal languages and the Lingua Franca of the country, we could choose to learn new languages for numerous reasons, which could be for academic, career, or personal reasons.
Just recently, I started an Introduction to Spanish Course because:
*Firstly*, I have a dream of **working** in *Spain* one day, and that dream would be a little bit *difficult* to achieve if I wait till then to learn a thing or two about the language.
Secondly, as a ***Real Madrid*** fan, it would be a pleasure and a thing of joy, if I'd be able to watch my team play while listening to the commentary in Spanish. These two, and many others, are the reasons why I'm learning Spanish as a third language.
I also have a friend that's learning *Japanese* due to her love for *Anime*.
BENEFITS OF MULTILINGUALISM
TRAVEL
When traveling, knowledge of a language in the country you are moving to is very necessary. One could basically learn some phrases so as to be able to communicate with the locals over there.
**CAREER**
This is one of the major reasons why people learn a language, because knowledge of the language of a country you apply to work in, would definitely give you an edge over your equals, applying for the same role.
**LEARN ABOUT CULTURE**
The knowledge of a language could help you understand their culture better.
**LEARN ABOUT THE WORLD**
With your knowledge of a language, one could read original manuscripts of history books without recourse to translated versions.
**EASILY LEARN NEW LANGUAGES**
As much as languages differ, they also have their similarities, which could be in the way they are written or the way they are pronounced. This could go a long way in helping you learn new languages.

Curfew in the South Eastern Part of Nigeria.
*War*, which is generally characterized by extreme violence, aggression, and mortality, is a distorting force in the scheme of things. It leaves behind ruins, unfulfilled dreams, and horrific experiences.
In a bid to secede from the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the *Indigenous People of Biafra* resorted to war as the only solution. The war lasted for *30* months(1967-1970), and at the end of everything, the Indeginous People of Biafra (IPOB) ended up at the losing end. That war would later leave an indelible mark on the memories of those who witnessed the conflict or its aftermath.
Contemporarily, a man named ***Mazi Nnamdi Kanu*** emerged as the supposedly new leader of the group. He intends to lead the people to independence. In the course of doing that, he was nabbed by the security operatives of the *Federal Republic of Nigeria* and is yet to be released. In light of that, his supporters declared public holidays every "Monday" for everybody in the South-Eastern part of the country. These public holidays are *strictly* enforced on the populace, as armed men are always on the road to watch out for defaulters, and in a very short time, lots of people have been killed and cars burnt.
The holiday is also making it hard for students to cope, as there’s usually no school on Mondays, further limiting the already limited time. Just recently, nationwide ***JAMB*** exams had to be cancelled on *Mondays* for those living in the South Eastern part of the country. The agitation has done more ***harm*** than *good* to the populace.
Businessmen have suffered alike, as they are having a hard time offsetting debts as a result of not being able to go to work. Plans are being put in place to reschedule West African Examinations Council (WAEC) exams for those living in the region so that they won't be left out.
Today was just like every other Monday, but the day was worsened by the news that the curfew was going to be extended till Wednesday, as the leader of the group would be attending court hearings in the days to come.

The Topsy Turvy Nature Of Football
The game of football is one that's filled with **ups and downs**. It's a game of passion and love that unites nations and tribes together. Countries with **diverse** cultures usually come together when the time is right; to render support to their national team. A notable example is Nigeria, who, irrespective of its diversity in tribes and regions, always come together to cheer on the national team.
Over the years, some football games have been **hyped up** to a certain level and most of them have lived up to the hype. As a football fan, I have been opportune to watch a lot of football games that have resulted in either **pain or joy**.
Football teams have won their opponents against all odds; some have scored goals against the run of play, and some have done comebacks that people never expected. In past years we've seen teams perform miracles to turn a tie around. In 2018, we saw AS Roma turn the tie around against Barcelona, they lost the first leg by 4 goals to 1 but won the second leg 3-0, thereby qualifying on away goals. In 2019, We also saw Liverpool turn the tie around against Barcelona, they lost the first leg 3-0 but won the second leg 4-0 to qualify to the next round. Most recently we saw Madrid overturn a two goal deficit against Manchester City in less than 3 minutes.
ITS NOT OVER UNTIL ITS OVER
In 2014, I watched a game that would go on to change my perception of the **game** of **football** and most importantly, **life** in general. It was a game between cross city rivals *Real Madrid* and *Athletico Madrid*. Both teams scaled through a lot of hurdles, eliminating lots of big teams en route to the finals.
When the game began, both teams were playing in quite an unusually conservative manner, not until Athletico Madrid opened the scoring. They then led for the major part of the game. Major part in the sense that, they led from the minute they scored to the 94th minute of the game.
In the 94th Minute, Madrid had a late corner, which turned out to be the last kick of the game. They took the corner, scored from it and went further to win 4-1 in Extratime.
I shed tears that night, but they weren't that of pain but of joy.
That game also taught me never to give up on life, even when all odds are against me. Trials and tribulations would definitely come to mess with our mental and physical health, but if we keep up with the right mentality till the very end, we would definitely scale through.

Religious Extremism in Nigeria.
**Religion, on a general note, has to do with the belief in the existence of a supernatural being. It's the function of the metaphysical.**
In *Nigeria*, we have *3 major* types of religion;
Islam
Christianity and
African Traditional Religion
These different types of religion believe in different *supernatural beings.* Muslims believe in **Muhammed**, Christians believe in **Jesus Christ**, and traditionalists believe in different gods which are *dependent* on the *tribe*.
RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM:
***Extremism*** is the behavior of people who try to bring about political or religious change by using *extreme* methods. An extremist resorts to ***extreme measures*** in religion or politics.
It is found in all religions, but more apparent in some.
Religion has been ***abused*** in several ways to suit the *interests* of persons who consider themselves the *custodians/guardians* of the religious laws. They use religion as a **shield** to commit **heinous crimes** and also *convince* their *gullible followers* and impose their ideology on them.
Religious extremism has become ***rampant*** in Nigeria, most especially, in the ***Northern*** part of the country.
Most *neutrals* would have thought that religious *extremism* is just common among the uneducated, but it's so *disappointing* that these extremist *ideologies* are more *rampant* amongst the supposedly educated ones.
The story as narrated by @Cogamedia took place yesterday, and in the light of that, a lot of persons began reminiscing and testifying on how they had survived religious extremism in the past.
One of them was a secondary school student, who was 15 yrs of age at the time. His friends who were in the same age bracket, accused him of blasphemy and wanted to behead him. Word got out to the people outside, that someone has blasphemed. The mob gathered outside, asking for the release of the young boy who had supposedly blasphemed, so that he would be beheaded. Luckily for him he was smuggled out of school by the then Vice Principal. He still has PTSD from the event, up to this day.
They've also been times where Christians in the Northern part of the country have been slaughtered for events that didn't even happen in the country.
**POSSIBLE SOLUTIONS.**
Religious extremism can be curbed, if the adherents of the various religions in the country, can have ***respect*** for one another's views. They should understand that they are inter-religious diversities and try their best to be tolerant to them.
***Religious tolerance*** (the ability to accept beliefs that are different from ours) should be taught in institutions of learning, beginning from the *lowest level* (Primary schools) to the *highest level* (Tertiary Institutions be it University, College of Education or Polytechnic.)
Nigerian tertiary education should *help* Muslim *communities* and *institutions* to study Islam ***analytically*** and ***critically*** at different levels of society.
Nigerian tertiary institutions should also help *Evangelical churches* to *review* their programmes so that they can be more *inclusive*.

The Irony of Independence in Africa.
Independence day is an annual event commemorating the anniversary of a nation's independence or sovereignty, usually after ceasing to be a group or part of another nation or state or being set free from colonialism. - **Wikipedia**
A lot of countries in Africa set a day aside for the celebration of their independence from their various **colonial masters**. The emancipation of African countries from the hands of our colonial masters was done so that the citizens of a country, would be granted a sort of freewill to make decisions that would impact their nations positively.
When the colonial masters were ruling, a lot of persons would argue that they were impartial in their decision-making and were exploiting their colonies. Those persons then moved a **motion** for segregation and **independence**, which was **granted**.
**HOW HAS THE COUNTRIES FARED AFTER INDEPENDENCE?**
Its been **years** since the colonial masters left their African colonies and granted them independence, and its also quite pertinent to note that most of these countries haven't experienced much growth and development since they were made a sovereign nation.
*Reason being* that, the rulers who assumed control after the colonial masters left the country, have not ruled in a *manner* that would *result* to the growth and development of the country but in a manner that would enrich their pockets and make the rich richer and the poor poorer.
Most of the persons contesting for positions in the higher echelons of government in African countries, are persons that are going there for the sole purpose of enriching their personal pockets and not the national buffers or helping the poor.
**WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE**?
This is a question asked by many, but has yet to get a reply. There are various plans drafted for the startup of growth-inspired leaders but these plans are quite hard to develop and one needs to change the mindset of most of the citizens because at the end of the day "Majority carries the vote".
Another problem is the problem of **funding**. For instance, in the forthcoming Nigerian elections, lots of aspirants have purchased forms for exorbitant amounts to run for a particular position.
The price for the nomination forms is so absurd, such that a Professor wouldn't be able to garner such amounts all through his career as a University Lecturer. The price of forms were increased such that the downtrodden with plans of change, cannot even stand elections talk more of winning. The government is currently a government of the elites. Moreover, If you want to stand a chance of winning, you ought to run under one of the two major parties in Nigeria.
Its all difficult out here, but we hope that things get better in the long run, and it's gonna be a really long run.

Accidental Discharge
**ACCIDENTAL DISCHARGE** in this context occurs when an individual handling a firearm is negligent and fires a weapon unintentionally.
This has led to the loss of innocent lives around the world.
Such is the story of **Peter**.
Peter was **born** into a *poor family*. He lost his father at a very *tender* age, so the mother was the only person tasked with the responsibility of catering for Peter and his siblings, who were five in number. It was a very difficult task for the mother to undertake; she had to take on a lot of jobs to keep the family running, but her efforts were not enough. The family fed from hand to mouth and barely ate at times.
So at one stage, Peter decided to leave his homeland in search of greener pastures, for his own good and that of the family.
When Peter got to his new found place, he opened up a business and was doing quite well. He began sending money back home to the siblings and unsurprisingly became the bread winner for the family.
So one day while Peter was going about his business, he heard people screaming; he turned around to see what was happening and saw two persons fighting. Peter being someone who had had an unforgettable experience as a mediator in the past, turned around and continued to go his way. It wasn't long before the police arrived.
One of the policemen cocked his gun in a bid to scare the fighters and those watching. The moment he did that, everybody dispersed. He was all smiles and forgot that the gun was still cocked and could discharge anytime. So he held the trigger, thinking that it was still at its default state. The moment he pulled the trigger; a bullet was discharged. The discharged bullet moved in the direction of an unfortunate person. Guess who that unfortunate person was?
The unfortunate person was the focused and less concerned Peter who was going about his business. The bullet hit him on the left side of the chest, where the heart is located. Blood began gushing out, and he lost his breath and died on the spot.
When the news of Peter's death got home, literally everybody in the house fainted because not only did the bullet kill Peter, it also took with it a lot of destinies because the family had lost its bread winner. Peter's mother, who was hypertensive at the time, began reminiscing on the death of Peter, and soon after she joined her ancestors in the land beyond.
This is the amount of pain, the negligence of a man, who was tasked with the responsibility of protecting lives has caused a family and a generation of people.
This may be fictional but it has always happened in the past, most recently was that of a boy who was killed by a bullet which accidentally discharged from the gun of His Fathers orderly, who was meant to protect him, and he died on the spot.
This doesn't just apply to security personnel alone; it applies to each and every one of us because as a pharmacist, the wrong mixing formula could kill someone, and as a blogger, the wrong news and information could also kill someone. We should all be careful, negligence of duty is wrong.

In My Next Life, I would Love to be a Sportsman.
Greetings, my dear read cash Audience. I trust y'all had a nice day in this unprecedented bearish market.
My account @Chief_Mekus was spammed some weeks ago because I violated rules that, I obviously know nothing about. It was a really hard and troubling time for me. I was just alone, nursing the thoughts of where I'd have actually gone wrong. I went through my comments in the past week, yet, I still couldn't find any flaw. After that, I contacted some of my friends on here on read cash and they told me that nothing much could be done about it and advised me to open a new account.
The thoughts of losing my old account, which I've strived to build, for the past month, was a really difficult one, but there was nothing I could do to salvage the situation. So today, I summoned the courage to put aside all discouraging thoughts and start all over again.
I believe that with time and hard work, I would return to where I initially was. I want to sincerely thank @King_Gozie , @Olasquare , @Amazing-grace and @Ellawrites for their advice at that critical period. God Bless you all immensely.
**TOPIC OF THE DAY**
The inspiration to write on this topic was drawn from a tweet I saw some days ago, about Mbappe and his contract extension with Paris Saint Germain. The tweet just gave us a glimpse of his contract details, if he's to sign a two year extension at the club.

I was in awe because the numbers that were there could actually substitute for the budgets of some nations around the world. But it wasn't the budget of any country or State; it was literally a "reward for passion". Although it's quite pertinent, that Mbappe is a very talented player, who deserves such high amounts of money as wages. but there are certain players in world football that earn more than they deserve. A notable example is Harry Maguire that plays for Manchester United. I'm very certain that, if I was born in a country that appreciates sports and sees it as a means to an end, I most definitely would have been better than Harry, at what he's being paid to do.
This doesn't just apply to football alone; it applies to every other sport. I am well built physically and would have done well in games other than football, such as American football, Rugby or even basketball.
At the end of the day, all these things would only be a matter of 'if', based on assumptions and not on facts. Nevertheless, we would just have to maximize any opportunity we see, wherever we find ourselves, and make the most out of it. Thanks for this wonderful read.
