Hello, what's up read.cash family. I apologize if I haven't visited your articles. This afternoon our internet connection was lost and even when the evening comes, it was still a struggle for me to be online because the signal was not doing good. Sometimes it will be okay for a minute but afterward, it will be gone again.
That's why I just spend my time tutoring my eldest with his modules and when we are done with his Math subject, I just did the mobile game "Gun Strike" since that's the only game left on my phone.
At around 7 PM, I started making a draft of my article in notepad so that when the Internet connection is back, I would just copy my draft article and paste it here. Almost nine o'clock when the Internet connection is a little okay so here I am editing my draft article so that I can upload this today.
High School Life: Our Kind of Disobedience
The school where I studied in high school has lots of rules that should be followed. Schedules that are given must be done but there were times that we didn't obey those. Reminiscing those disobedience times made me smile and miss my classmates, dorm mates, and batchmates.
Study time
After our holy rosary what we need to do is to study. From 7:30 PM to 9:00 PM, we should only study and should not do unnecessary things. Talking to our dorm mates was not allowed too.
Are you familiar with slam books? During our third and fourth year, that was so famous. Knowing that we only have a few years to be with our classmates and dorm mates, we made slam books and we let those classmates and dorm mates of ours signed them.
Since in the daytime, we only have limited time to interact with others because we have things to do after class hours, so our only time to answer the slam book was during the evening.
During study time, we opened our notebooks so our mother-sister could tell that we study hard. We concentrated on looking at our notebooks but our mind was on the slam book beneath our notebook. When our mother-sister left to check other dorms, we immediately bring out the slam book and answered it fast. We also keep on glancing outside the classroom to see if our mother-sister or our principal passed by.
Sleeping Time
When it's sleeping time, we must observe complete silence. No talking with our bedmates and to the ones who are on the upper bed. We also should not eat but my other dorm mates were so naughty. They brought food to the bed.
I have this close dormmate who takes culinary subject during our fourth year. In their culinary class, they bake a carrot cake. She brought her share to our dorm and during sleeping time since she was my bedmate, she whispered to me that she had cake with her and we would eat those. When she said that it was carrot cake, I immediately told her that I wanted to eat it. We were so busy eating and our other dorm mates knew what we were doing because of the smell of the carrot cake. Good thing, no nuns are roaming around at that time.
Before our morning bell
No one should go out and went to the Comfort room or shower room before the morning bell but others did it, especially during Wednesdays and Sundays. During these days, we should hurry in taking a bath because we need to gather at the gymnasium at exactly 5:30 AM.
So before the morning bell, others bring their bath things to the shower room so they can shower immediately. We usually take 2 to 3 minutes only in the shower room and after we hurriedly change to our school uniforms and went down to the gymnasium.
English Drive
This started during our first year in high school. One should only speak English, not our dialect. If we were caught talking vernacular, then we will be listed.
If the English Drive is exclusive in every family/dorm only, then we were trying our best not to be caught by our dorm mates but if it's by family saint/dorm, we speak our dialect especially if we knew that there are no other families around. Sometimes our helping sister would scold us for doing so and even our other dorm mates would reprimand us too. That's how disobedient we are during our high school days.
But we didn't do it always because one time when we disobeyed, our mother-sister get mad at us and she let us go down without slippers because our slippers were put on our neck as she told us.
It's shameful knowing that other families and mother-sisters are looking through the window.
That's all for today. Thanks for reading this article today.
