Most people are bullied because they're better than the people who bullied them. - Simon Cowell
Earlier in a seminar where I and Lady Boss attended before we started the session the speaker shares a story of a boy who was being bullied because of being different, for being not normal.
Mario, 7 years old, has a cliff palate and was raised by his mother alone. His palate can be fixed through surgery but since they're not born with a silver spoon Mario didn't get the chance to fix his deformity.
Mario is very smart and skillful. He excels in all the subjects especially Math and English. He is well-favored by the teachers in school, not because they pity him but because of his abilities and skills.
but,
Outside school, just behind the bar of the school gate, he was pushed hard and received a great kicking from Fred and the gang, his bullies. Fred and his friends hate Mario for being smart for being a know-it-all kid when he is just as ugly as his family. Every after-school hour they always hurt Mario, he always went home with some black eye and some scars on his arms and legs. His mom always cries in silence because she's sorry for her son's life and the cruelty he got from people because of his face. But it didn't scare Mario at all. What scared him is to be absent in school, being bullied is normal for him as long a he gets to study, even with broken ribs, as long as he learns the lessons every day. That's how he values education.
The bullying didn't stop until he finishes college as a scholar, a Deans Lister with the highest scores. His bullies are always there, smashing his books toying with his things like they were some kind of fun stuff to play with. The worst happened was that they throw garbage at him but he never minds.
The worst that ever happened to Mario was when he was going home from tutoring preschool kids as a part-time job. Few houses left before their home he was punched right on his mouth with extra force, he thought his teeth would be blown out, it was dark so he couldn't see who did it to him, he falls to the ground and the culprit hadn't been done and toe him a few more before he left. "Rascal". That was what Mario heard before he lost consciousness. He woke up having broken bones and his mother is crying beside his bed. He didn't cry in from of his mom. But at midnight he walks to the chapel just inside the hospital. Talk to God with tears and words of surrendering.
"Lord I made it this far, I surpass those days I have to be a thick face and carry the embarrassment of being like this, but I never argued with You. I didn't question you. Just being able to live and study is enough for me to be thankful. What happened tonight is another obstacle I have to face alone. I don't want anything grandiose. I just want your guidance and the patience to surpass it all. Please be with me, I can't handle this alone. I feel like I am about to explode with the anger I want to punch them but what good will it make me if I do that? So please, have Your way with me."
We, the other attendees, felt pity over the boy. all his life he was being bullied. Then one attendee asks the speaker what happened to that boy now after that incident. The speakers then said:
Well, after that night Mario lives like normal. He didn't sue or filed a complaint about his assailant. He graduated from college, found a job, and finally had his cliff palate operated on.
We then clap our hands with glee with such great news and then the speaker added.
Bullies are always everywhere, they will keep toying with you if you kept on fighting them or just be silent and receive their beatings. What Mario did is somewhat suicidal because he just let those bullies bullied him. Why? Because his mind is set for one goal only. To be successful and show those bullies that the one they have been bullying for all those years reach his goals in life and become successful.
Good morning, my name is Engr. Mario D--------, the head Supervisor and PIC on this project and I will be your speaker for the day.
Seeing Mario become as successful as he is, and the way I saw him earlier, he is full of wisdom. I never knew that our speaker holds a very sad yet inspiring story.
I experienced being bullied but not to the extent of being physically hurt. What Mario experienced is worst, he never adds the cruel words those bullies throw at him but we all knew that it did happen all the time before.
To Bullies:
did it make you happy making fun of other people's misfortunes and incapabilities?
Or are you just insecure because you didn't achieve what they achieved given their worst situations?
You should've done well in your life than making fun of other people. Karma will hit you like the Hammer of Thor.
So be mindful and respectful, you coward!
Hello, sorry for this. I was just inspired by the speaker of our Aconex seminar earlier. It did really made me cry aigooooooo. And then I remember one time I saw an auditionee on AGT(America's Got Talent) where the boy was being bullied for having cancer and he overcome that anxiety by showcasing his talent on using the violin and he felt proud after his performances that earned a standing ovation from the audience and the judges. And then Simon Cowell, the resident judge told him those words I posted above. Turn your anxieties into happiness by doing what you love the most.

Bullies are just big for nothing. They've used up all their sense to grow big and fat. God help these children who are at their mercy.
