I have been out for more than a week, and I think it would be best to start my journey again by publishing a worth-reading piece. Without further ado, let's begin with the concerns and issues happening across the globe.
The Global Climate Condition
There are a lot of developments and destructions in the environment. The heat of the sun and how the rays affect our skin is scary. Also, the disasters happening are making us wonder whether it is the effect of climate change. The amount of raindrops and even the way that the surroundings react to the dilemmas bothers the people. Changes are here, and it was evident that we humans contributed a lot to them.
Looking back and seeing where climate change is coming from will point out how humans took advantage of nature and the environment. The electricity we use, the water consumption, and even the pollution caused by irresponsible people everywhere. Some companies contributed to the breakdown in water and air when their operations began. Additionally, you can see how the industries and the technology can cause disadvantages to the surroundings. You can observe the changes through what your eyes can see, what your nose can smell, and what your ear can hear.
We can avoid the possible disaster that might come. We can start by being responsible citizens who know how to segregate wastes. It would be best to contribute to making the environment better. Be sustainable and learn things that will avoid pollution. You can start the changes within you, and others will follow.
Political System
Most citizens are aware that the political system in the Philippines is quite shaky. We heard many news and read articles about how the officials use their power for their agendas. Some take advantage of their position and see politics as their way to steal money from the people's taxes. Not every politician has terrible intentions, but there is a lot of corruption existing in the country. Sadly, sometimes the people who pledged to lead us are the ones who make us suffer too.
We can hear the news everywhere. Sometimes articles and other sources will prove that most politicians wanted the position to take advantage of the people. These people started corruption and other nasty things, like bribery. They say that every leader should be a follower too. But we see no improvements in most government officials and the political system in the county.
The Philippines is a democratic country. It means that the power is in the hands of the people. The most outstanding contribution of the citizens for the country is voting for deserving politicians. Sometimes we should learn from our mistakes. Do not let criminals or politicians have a position, especially when they did nothing on their terms.
Extrajudicial Killings
There was a time when extrajudicial killings were all over the news. Most of them are into drugs and other operations. Sometimes it bothers the people, especially the ordinary citizens. The safety and security in every neighborhood are alarmed every time incidents like them happen. People began to fear everyone who had the power to do whatever they wanted, like the police officers.
The Philippines is not new to drugs and other operations connected to it. It is the main reason why extrajudicial killings made their way to threaten the people. We heard in the news how some police officers leave a gunshot in every suspect's head during a buy-bust or an entrapment. We have no idea if some are innocent or not. We see them in the news and with their name mentioned as drug users or pushers.
As ordinary citizens, we can do something by being responsible and not engaging in crimes and other illegal activities. The law prohibits some actions, and we must obey them. We can start by strictly following what the law states. On the other hand, people should also focus on knowing their rights as humans. They should be aware of how they will protect themselves during a particular situation.
Contradicting views about politics
Since the election for the presidency will happen the following year, 2022, people are now talking about it everywhere. Social media is the most comprehensive platform where some share their thoughts about a particular issue. In this case, there are now trending social problems arising in some social media sites like Twitter and Facebook. Filipinos began to share their views and insights about the candidates for the presidency. What makes it sad is that they are fighting with each other to prove a point.
During these days, voters have their candidates. Admit it or not, we cannot please everybody. We cannot make them believe our beliefs and perspective because they have their own. The trend about this social issue in politics will only make things worse. It has to stop, and people must understand the importance of a person's free will to believe what he knows and consider what he thinks are facts.
Vaccination roll-out
Aside from the current situation in the issues about politics, there are new trending matters that concern the vaccination roll-outs. Some are having doubts about the effectiveness and credibility rate of the vaccines. Also, some are talking about being discriminated against just because they have not taken any vaccine yet. On my stand, we can never force someone to do something. They have the freedom and free will to choose in every option offered to them.
For example, there are different vaccines from different countries. People should have the chance to do their research first and decide what vaccine to take. It is a primary problem nowadays. People are full of doubts, and it takes time for them to understand and be thoroughly knowledgeable. It will take time, and people will know enough information about the vaccines and their importance.
