My Opinion About The Upcoming National Election

The national election is nearly approaching, and campaigning began on May 9, the day when everyone will decide who will sit on thousands of positions including who will take over from Rodrigo Duterte and become the President of the Philippines for the next 6 years.

Here are some of my opinions that I find interesting, and can help us to enlighten us for the upcoming election.

  • The upcoming election will give difficulties in choosing the right ones since there are a lot of candidates who can make a change to our nation.

Fact that we have many and different choices, we must be choosing not just right but the best leader so we will not suffer the consequences of inefficient leadership in the end.

Facing crisis is not a joke, and we’ve been through a lot of it for several years, so we must put leaders who deserve to put an end to every crisis.  A right and best leader know what’s best for our country and his people.

  • The election on May 2022 will be intense. Everyone should vote for those aspirants who are not corrupt and have major experiences. We should choose a leader who is knowledgeable when it comes to the economy.

We are facing a great crisis when it comes to our economy. The economy refers to the wealth and resources of a country in terms of the production and consumption of goods and services. If the economy collapses we can greatly experience a severe crisis and poverty.

So we need a leader that is good in the economy, this is also because the core values of a nation are linked to equality and equal distribution of resources. Leadership should play a great role in sustaining economic growth that should involve providing great opportunities for growth and progressive development.

Corruption destroys everything. It wastes taxes, or rates that have been earmarked for important community projects.  The causes of corruption are rooted in a country's policies, bureaucratic traditions, political development, and social history. So we must choose leaders that are not corrupt. It’s a great blessing to a country and for all the people.

  • Colors for the election are just used to show affinity to one’s political group, but colors must mean more than a political identification.

A great leader should be more than his/her color. She/He must act the way she/he perceives the nation. They should act upon their values. These colors are very useful for candidates and they make the campaign activities more visually attractive.

But also be a disservice to voters who think that a color is a substitute for the type of campaigning that promotes political parties, their platforms, and the track record of their leaders.

We should not be blinded by how the color looks attractive and catchy, but rather choose a leader that is more than their colors. Attractive colors are useless if they lead the country so worthless.

These are just some of many opinions in the upcoming national election. But the utmost important thing now is that we should respect each other’s beliefs and choices. We have different choices and we have different views about good leadership.

But always remember, that this time of election is our time to choose what’s best for our future and the country. Our choices depend on the great consequences that might happen for the next six years of our life.

Let’s be united, and be wise in choosing our leaders!

Hayysstt, this year's election for me is dis-unified. Many were battling just to defend their choice. Somehow, respects were being neglected by their own choices and opinions. Why not just spread the respect to those other people who have different choices, views and opinions? Right?

Just hope that for those who will stand as the last man or women in the last round will really looked into the betterment of all.

Yes, ate. Exactly. Kapag iba ang pananaw mo at hindi akma sa gusto nila, they'll start mocking you or open an argument asking whys and hows. Worst is, will also tag you as "bobo." I hate it. So it's just me, my pen, and my ballot on election day. I have nothing to explain. My bet will be my bet, period.

Their choice of colors actually tells something about them. I am not sure if they are aware of that. As for selecting the next president, I have already started my selection by elimination (from my list of candidates) before December last year. At that time, there were national candidates who already spent (probably Millions) on TV and social media ads. For me, those candidates have millions of pesos to recover. Note that, I don't think those expenses will be included in the report that they will submit to the Comelec since it was before the campaign period, and they will not classify those as "campaign ads".

Another thing is no candidate si squeaky clean. I hate those who throw all sorts of accusations to other candidates as if they are saints.

What I don't like is... what I HATE the most is, when political leaders and supporters disrespect the supporters of other candidates by calling them names like "bobo". That's why we have this election, to exercise our freedom to choose. Why call others "bobo" if they prefer to support other candidates?

Yes, the colors they chose has meanings but what I pointed out is that, people should not be blinded by how we perceived a political identification before like for example: The Dilawans. Anyway, you are right that no politician is really clean because all of them have or had shady sides. And sadly, like what you have said, accusations are thrown at each other.

Ugh, you hit the point! Filipinos are worst these days. Just because you have a different political bet, they'll start calling you names. And that's exactly why I hate sharing who will be my President. I just keep it in me, and suggest my friends to do the same. Do not let toxicity on social media about the national election beat out of you.

I really hope that people will take time to read and geg educated on the candidates information and not just rely on political colors. If there's anyone we should be loyal to it's our country Philippines and not those colors that a lot of people became a fanatic of.

I totally agree. People must check the experiences and credentials of the candidates and take them for considerations. We need better leaders with a good heart for the people. Colors may be deceiving. We must not let it decide who to vote.

I don't want to describe my political bet. Yet, I wanted to emphasize how political ideas and issues are forming the society, specifically Filipino perception of what has to come in the National Elections.

By the way, I respect your article. I just feel like upon choosing one's candidate, we should opt to leadership and fairness, limiting bias and ideas associated to prejudices one may adhere to. Nonetheless, great opinion about the upcoming elections. May you vote for the one who may let the Philippines thrive with an initiative to promote projects beyond without false hopes to carry out.

Point taken! We must choose a leader that comes with great experiences, good credentials, and no history of corruption. This is the next 6 years we are talking about. Actually, I haven't been vocal about my political candidates especially when arguments and toxicity are thrown at you.

I haven't decided yet which one to choose, there are just too many choices to choose from. I also don't like the way they campaign, always throwing bad things to their opponents, why not just inform us of what they can do for our country and our future instead of reminding us what is not good about their opponents.

I am not happy with the negative campaigning ate. It is really hard to share your presidential bet, because when you did, some people will start to call you out. Like, do we not have the right to choose already? Everyone has a comment, lol. Anyway, nakakalungkot lang talaga yung nangyayari today na criticism sa ibang candidates, just to gain sympathy.

One has to vote 🗳 wisely and decisively because one many people makes wrong decisions the wrong person will be elected and the citizens/country will suffer for 4 years if it’s same constitution we’re using.

Here, we give 6 years of leading the country to our country leader, so it's the next 6 years we are talking about here. We must vote wisely because we cannot suffer any longer.
