English As The Global Language

Some nations and countries are using English as their education preference. But some are also focused on embracing their mother-tongue and native language. It only becomes global if most people or nation uses it. Before claiming the spot for being the global language, things are considered such as spoken and understood at an international level. As we speak, English is perfect for this. There are standards and numerous movements for implementing it. This composition will serve as an explanation about global language from the studies and book of the linguist David Crystal. According to him, a global language depends on the power of the people speaking it. It means the ideology of political and military concerns. English is now the symbol of globalization as many nations embrace the language from music, movies, and even in academics. Also, some countries are making English their second language next to their mother tongue. It does not pertain to the numbers of speakers, but the influences in technology, culture, economics, and innovations.

He mentioned that maintaining a global language needs enough power, maybe through military and politics. The economic power also says a lot. Influencing most nations and countries must start with having good communication. And communication should not have language barriers. It should unite every country through engaging and using a language that they everyone could understand. There, we can say that it is already a global language. It is important because it gains a lot of benefits and advantages in industries, communities, and other sectors in the world. Because of the circumstances, there are risks in the rising numbers of users of the global language. Some people are using it as their mother tongue which will make them not get interested in other languages. They only focus on it the day they learn to speak, as it was the universal language in the present times. On the other hand, this global language will be the way of understanding amidst diversity. It will help businesses to understand innovations. They can make their people take advantage of being language literate – as they will need it in engaging with other people across the globe.

When it comes to writing, we can also communicate with others globally. With this technologically-advanced society, we have access to everything. We can communicate with people miles away from us. Some social media sites are open to sharing thoughts and ideas. Also, you can blog anything you want which could lead to effective communication with people globally. The audience is wider on online platforms. It is only one click away. We can express our opinions and share advice. Most people spend their time scrolling at their social media accounts, which is a good way to influence. You can count on posting and writing quality content that will leave lessons to your readers and followers. It would be best to consider this strategy to see whether you can communicate effectively with others – even through writing.
