Silently Suffering - Betrayed.
Jennifer's story is that of a pity and very overwhelming. You never know what others are going through until you hear their stories. Those you trust the most are usually the ones who betray you. You can pitch your tent close to someone suffering and you wouldn't know until they open up their mouth to tell you about their ordeal. Jennifer soon found out that a lot of things are wrong with humans, especially those that are supposed to protect her but she was betrayed every time. Who can she tell? Where does she go from here? She didn't even know where to start.
She was just 16 years of age when she lost both her parents to a ghastly accident, thanks to the Nigerian road. She is the type with the perfect body which makes everyone confuse her for a 20 + in age. She is the type with a beauty that strikes the heart of every man but she was first betrayed by her brother.
She wasn't the only child, of course, she has a brother who has been known for his drinking and extreme ways of living even when their father was alive. He has been enrolled on so many institutions meant to help him but when they couldn't handle him, they had to let him go. The parents were on another journey to find out about another institution when they met their untimely death. He is 8 years older than Jennifer and his first act of betrayal after the death of their parents was he sold the only house they live in with other landed properties their parents had. Jennifer didn't even know until the buys came to take over the house.
She did everything to reach her brother to know if the story was true but all his numbers were disconnected. She saw her brother's signature on the documents and she recognized not only that but also the documents. She just finished burying her parents and now this? If she could wake up from this nightmare she would be thrilled but sadly, it wasn't a nightmare but real life. She even later gathered that her brother is in Malaysia, living the life of a king.
She called her uncle who is the younger brother of her dad and explained the situation of things to him. He asked her to come over and she was allowed to pick only her clothes from the recently sold house. She got to her uncle's place and another nightmare started. His wife stays in Canada with their two boys and all he does is visit them from time to time.
The first night she spent in that house her uncle tried to rape her. She was so quick on her feet and she ran to the sitting room only for the uncle to beg her that it was a mistake. She believed it too because he was slightly drunk but the second night she wasn't that lucky. She wanted to run again only to see the door bolted as her uncle snuck into her room and she only knew when the duvet was leaving her thighs. She had to endure her second act of betrayal from family members on the back of being left out to dry by her brother. Her uncle raped her and despite the pains, this went on for over a year.
She knew her uncle knew she had nowhere to go which was why he took advantage of her situation. This is someone she always sat on his legs when he visits back then. She tried to locate her brother through Facebook and Instagram but it was obvious her brother intentionally stayed off the grid. She managed to reach another uncle and this time around this one is the younger brother of her late mum but she only told him about what her brother did, not what she was enduring from her uncle. She gave excuses of being home alone all the time with no plans to further her schooling and that one asked her to come over to live with him while she school.
She didn't even let his current uncle suspect anything as she fled when he went to work one day, never to return. She got there later that morning only to find out that in the early hours of that morning was when the family of her uncle (the younger brother to her mother) travelled to the U.K. She was hoping things would be different here since she would be staying with his family but now she is stuck with just another uncle again. It's just him and her in the house... They said that the devil you know is better than the angel you don't know, right? This statement hits the truth note in Jennifer's chord as she found out that was the case with this uncle of hers. Now she wished she didn't even leave her dad's younger brother for this her mother's younger brother.
She got her first experience of being tied up in chains on the first night she got there. It was like watching 50 Shades of Grey all over again as she was being battered while being molested and raped by her uncle. Every time he engages her in it, her body weakens. The only option she had in her head was to commit suicide since she knew she can't go back to her other uncle's place and her brother is nowhere in sight.
She was being used as a sexual object rather than being protected. She has been dying inside with no one to tell until she decided to gather enough money to run to Ghana where she shared her story and hoped her brother would hear about her and reach out to her.
Thank you for your time.

It's really so sad that her brother was no where to found when she needed him the most. It's must have been really painful for her passing through such cruel torture from her uncles.
I'm happy she didn't take her life despite all she passed through.
Dreemport brought me here.
