We’re ready for our first jab. It is scheduled at 1:00pm but we came early because we know there will be a lot of people coming in to get their first dose of the vaccine. It’ll be Pfizer. I am still a bit hesitant but because I am a law abiding citizen, I’ll take my part to make sure that we’ll reach the herd immunity. Lol!

So during the briefing we found out that it will be Sinovac for adults and Pfizer for minors. He was nervous since he’s not used to needles and medicines. It was nicely done, smooth and the experience with the needle was good. Hahaha! Well, we’ll rest for now and make sure to monitor if there will be any adverse effect. I just feel sleepy.

Our dinner for tonight. Birthday ng bayaw ng boyfriend ko kaya pinaldahan kami ng pansit. Wala dito yung ate and bayaw ko, naiwan nanaman sa akin ang mga bata hanggang sabado. We made a bonfire outside. We got a lot of mosquitoes flying all over us. Lol! It even annoy our pups who are right now sleeping below us. It’s a rainy evening and i prepared a fish soup for dinner. It’s a milk fish (bangus). I cooked it with ginger, onion, tomatoes, spring onions and cabbage. I forgot to pick green chilis (kulikot), and it’s dark now. My niece is a picky eater, and I bet she’ll ask later if the fish has a lot of bones. Lol! She always ask every time we cook a fish.

Wild bitter gourd leaves in mungbean with fried fish. There is a secret to prevent it from getting too bitter. You have to wash it before separating the leaves from the stalk. And don’t wash it again. This is one of my favorite vegetable that grows anywhere.

Guess what was our viand for dinner. Yep! That’s vinegar and chilis! The taste of coconut vinegar is still better compared to the one we buy from the grocery. Pork skin. Pardon me my dear Muslim brothers and sisters. You can just scroll down and skip my post. I am making chicharon. Last night I boiled cleaned, sliced and drained the water. I’ll be drying these today and will try to fry it later. Chicharon is one of our favorite snacks. We have a friend that has a catering services, and gave us a lot of pork skin. Hello little ant! I was sitting on a hammock under the jackfruit tree and this little ant here fell on my laptop. I didn’t bother to remove it or touch it at first. I had to go and get the modules of my niece. Schools used to be lively and colorful during Holiday season but it’s different now. My sister had to transfer my niece in the public school since the fees at the private school is high and they did not give her a discount considering the fact that kids won’t be able to go to school. Update from NDRRMC. Yes, it’s currently raining and it’s non-stop since last night. Our place is not flood prone or landslide prone area but I really don’t like too much rain and water. I got eight new socks, 10 to be exact but I gave the two pairs to my niece and nephew. 10 pairs for ₱100. That makes ₱10 for each pair. Lately, I had losing my socks, so I decided to buy. This will last for months and even for a year maybe. Hehe! I like the bear print on it. It looks cute!!

Sweet guyabano! They said it contains anti cancer properties. My mother used to make a guyabano candy when we were kids. This one is cottony and milky and sweet! Yummy!

So yun nga stuck in the middle of nowhere somewhere at New Bataan, Davao de Oro kasi na flat ang motor. I have to stay along the road kasi walang dalang cp si boyfriend. Pinaayos niya ang motor sa kung saan na may malapit na vulcanizing shop.

Luckily, there was a nearby vulcanizing shop or should I say house. Lol! I needed to walk approximately 400 meters to get here. I was a bit scared standing alone along the road.

Looks like I was in a beach but nope! The sea is far from our place. It just looked like the beach because of the coconut trees and the blue sky. I was just walking along the road. What an afternoon!

This was yesterday after we fix the wheel. Speedometer is at 30kph. Hahaha! Well, I always like slow runs. I hate it when it’s too fast to the point that I feel like my face starts to distort because of the wind. We went to visit the graves of his brother and mother, and went to buy some stuff at the market in New Bataan. We arrived safely at home and ate a bread while having coffee.

This is New Bataan, Davao de Oro. My home for almost two years. Almost a decade ago, the place was devastated by typhoon Pablo. (bopha). Over a thousand were killed and perished in 2012. The town at the present looks peaceful and as if nothing bad happened in 2012. It’s a small town, you can go around the market area within ten minutes or less. This was my second time going to the town proper aside from going to the cemetery almost every month since October.

This New Bataan cemetery. Yes! It looks neat and clean. The ‘houses’ are all identical. It’s a new cemetery. The old cemetery is at the other side where we can also find a huge mass grave for the typhoon victims in 2012.

Happy Christmas everyone! Good morning from the beautiful Philippine archipelago! Why I used ‘happy’ instead of ‘merry’? I just imitated Harry and Ron on Christmas morning. Haha! It’s my second Christmas celebration in the farm. For the past years I spent it in the office, Christmas and New Year. There was a time that I was in a public transport when the year changed. Sad. The Department of Agriculture had a product demo using soybeans. I wasn’t able to see and witness the demos on how to make soya milk, soya pulvoron, taho and tokwa. I missed it. My niece brought this home. Hahaha! A pack of soya pulvoron. My sister brought a gallon of fresh soya milk and tofu. Soya milk had been my favorite. It doesn’t spoil my tummy. I planted soybeans early this year but it wasn’t successful because our chickens seemed to like it.
