My ex is getting married… today. A few days back, I saw their prenup photos in Facebook. I am not familiar with the girl but I know for sure that they’re happy. He is my high school classmate. His best friend had a huge crush in me and wanted to court me (di naman talaga ako kagandahan). He confided to my ex not knowing that he too had a crush on me. Since we both belong to the same class and his bestfriend was not, we became friends until he said that he likes me. Hahaha! Tangina eh! We became girlfriend and boyfriend before we graduated in high school. After our graduation, I broke up with him. Well, I was too young- we were! I went to a University and him to a Seminary in Davao City. Seminarians had breaks too from their acad years. On Christmas he would send me gifts and presents. Huge stuffed toys, chocolates and flowers. He even went to our house to personally see my mother and courted me again. After three years, we became lovers again. By that time, he left the Seminary and finished his studies in our town while I was still studying in the University in a different town. On weekends he would travel and see me. I felt overwhelmed. I wanted to finish and get a Degree, so, yeah, we broke up. He cried in front of my mother. He said “Tita, ginbulagan ko ni Emz” (Tita, hiniwalayan ako ni Emz). My mother just listened and told him that she can’t do anything about it since it’s my life and decision. He left that day crying. Geez! I was heartless. I went back to school as if nothing happened. Years had passed and he got a new girlfriend. We became friends again. He introduced me to her. She was beautiful, kind and sweet! I thought she was the one. He made a mistake. He got another girl pregnant! The new girl was maldita, and wasn’t too nice. She was always jealous, even with me. Eventually, they broke up. By the way, he got a twin brother. We always talk until now. He even told me years ago “Tani ikaw na lang amon mahimo nga bayaw”. I just laughed and thanked him for that. When I was still working in the NGO years ago, he sent me a message. He still wanted me back to his life but as the years gone by, what I felt for him was purely friendship. Sure, he still visits my Nanay and still friends with my family. I am the first ex-girlfriend, and I am happy that he finally met the girl that will be with him for eternity. Geeez! Nag comment talaga ako sa prenup photos nila. We got the same circle of friends in my hometown. Buti na lang di niya naisipan na gawing ninang si Nanay. Hahaha! I am just happy for him.
