The modern world has seen an eruption in how people communicate with each other. With the advent of social media platforms, internet shopping platforms, mobile app development platforms, voice assistant devices and so on, people can connect in ways never thought possible. The speed at which people can interact with each other is unprecedented.
Have you ever wondered how this world will be without technology? I was with my phone and system switching from one tab to another yesterday all because of the hostel allocation exercise. For over 9 -10 hours my eyes were glued to the screen and also chatting with friends to see if they are lucky enough to get one. This went on for hours without any one of us getting any. A friend even suggested to me that we should create a fake BC, pretending to be the DSA (Dean of student affairs), tell people the exercise has been postponed so they all can stop attempting to get one and we all can log in and get ours.
In the late hours of the day, after several failed attempts, my mind wander away and I imagine being born in a time when there were no phones. Apart from Sundays when I go out with the boys, I spend almost all days of the week on my phone. The holiday has been bearable so far all because I can still keep in contact with my close friends and also work online with my phone. “Life back then must be boring,” I said to me Dad. It was as if I opened the flood gate to a long time discussion. My Dad went on to defend days of old to the present day.
Genuine communication and friendship
Back when there was no phone, kids gather every day to play and form a great bond. There were different age groups and they have each other back. Ideas were shared and help rendered to each other. He even went as far as saying they form cooperative associations, take turns in building houses for each other and help each other on farms. But nowadays we have nothing life that. Though I disagreed.
Health effect
I find this funny and I asked why. He said his mother could pass a thread through a needle even in her old age and asked me if I can. Ouch! It was a big jab below the belt. Of course, he is exaggerating but he talked about how the use of Gadget has affected our eyes which wasn’t so before.
Morale decadence
Exposure to the internet has caused o much misbehaviour among our youths and teens. We learn more from the internet more than we even learn from our parents and teachers. What we are exposed to each day is quite alarming. I can remember when I was applying for a scholarship in year 2 and on the site, the ads were that of a betting company and a porn site. I know these companies pay more, but having it advertise on a site intended to be used by students is wrong.
However, the advantages of being born in this generation are also there. there is a lot of useful information on the internet which you can use to learn a lot of things. You can also search for things that will help you to develop your skills. If you want to be relevant in this generation, you need to know how to handle things in modern technology. So what you will do now is to be comfortable using the internet.
In this generation, there are lots of people who are acquiring their skills in making things easier and faster. This helps make your work easy and simple. There are a lot of people who use the internet to share their ideas or knowledge so that other people can learn or get inspired by it. If I'm to choose between being born 100 years ago or now, I will pick Now!

Thanks for your wishes, prayers and concern guys. The great balloting war was won. After numerous attempts, a friend offered to help and to my amazement she did it. I've been saved from spending extra $450. Since the school hostel cost just $50.
...and you will also help the author collect more tips.
if not for technology for me i don't think this life will be meaningful, let relate it to Gospel, imagine what stress it was for Jesus to go from one country to another then but now yu can stay at a place and still reach millions of people at once and at ease
