Business attire as a means of manipulation.
Imagine in front of you a man in a strict business suit. Made of good fabric, tailored to his figure. Shirt, tie to match, polished shoes. How do you feel? Who is this man? What does he do?
Most likely you will answer that this person is rich, smart, educated, and has power. The words may be chosen differently, but the meaning will be exactly that. Here is a man who has achieved something in this life and represents something of himself.
And it may indeed turn out that way. Ordinary people very rarely wear business suits in their everyday lives. If someone is required by the dress code to wear such a look at work, then, more often than not, this person's everyday suit does not look good. It does not do the suit any good to sit in the workplace every day and regular washings or dry cleanings.
But, however, even in front of such a suit, that have seen better life, many will experience primitive admiration mixed with fear. A business suit has a special magic, attraction and something else.
That's something - authority. Unconsciously we trust what the man in the suit says. His words are important, weighty and meaningful.
And here's why:
We really think that the suit is the destiny of the elite. Well it's not given to an ordinary person to wear a suit just like that in ordinary life. Even if they have it in their closet, they get it rarely and on special occasions.
A good suit costs a lot. Even very expensive. To keep it, to match with other elements of the image it's necessary to have a lot of money. For some people these expenses are useless, but for others they are simply unaffordable. Suits are worn by those who can afford them.
Derived from the previous: you need to be someone to afford to wear a suit in everyday life. One needs position, status, power.
And now for the best part scammers and manipulators are mostly people in business suits. Not all of them will be in nice expensive suits. But it is the suit that makes it easier for them to get things done.
The suit is already half the success in the moment of influencing the other person. The man in the suit hasn't even had a chance to say a word, but people are already ready to agree with almost everything he says.
The reason is the same: a business suit creates an image of a person who knows what he is talking about, because he is rich, successful and has power. And who else will teach what to do and how to do it, if not him? After all, he has already proved to everyone around him by his mere appearance that he is right and worth listening to.
And few people think about what is really hiding under the suit, or rather what credit to buy it and out of whose money this credit is paid (if at all).
Here is an example of the most glaring manipulation of the suit that most people have encountered.
Pay attention to how sales assistants in some stores are dressed. If they are girls, a strict skirt or pants, a shirt, laconic shoes. There may be a scarf around the neck, playing the function of a tie. If a guy, pants, shirt, shoes. There may or may not be a tie. More often no.
Surprisingly, in stores where the consultants are dressed this way, sales are higher. Let me say right away: the study was not conducted in our country.
Can you guess why?
Right. The magic of the costume again. A girl in strict clothes, enthusiastically telling about the functions of an electric kettle and how it differs from another similar one, creates the impression of an expert. Buyers are more likely to make a purchase than if about the same and in the same words will tell the girl in jeans and polo shirts.
In general, do not believe the suit. Believe your eyes, feelings and ears. If it seems that you are being deceived, but you can't understand how and why, then you really want to deceive.

It's just that suit gives off bossy and powerful vibes. But as you have said, the funny thing is that most manipulators wear professional attire to make them look good and respected, we can't tell which is which
