Upvoting groups Some of our users decided it would be a great idea to form upvoting groups (otherwise known as "upvoting rings"), where members upvote each other in exchange for upvotes by other members. Dear upvoting group participants, let me tell you this: you are spamming read.cash, you are taking our fund money dishonestly and therefore you will be **punished***,* unless you stop **right now**. You are spamming because you upvote content based on random group participation, not because the content is good. So, bad content rises to the top and makes read.cash look bad. We will not pay for this behaviour. **Unless you stop now - you will see your point rate decreased** proportionally to the number of participants in your group. If your group is 20 members you might see your personalized point rate decrease 20 times (so $2.00 yesterday, $2.00 today, then $0.10 for the next month or more *even after you stop your participation*). https://read.cash/@Read.Cash/personalized-payouts-from-the-fund-f5d2f9c0
If you continue, don't come begging to our email for increased rate, because it will be algorithm punishing you, not we, we won't do anything about it. **The same goes for people creating accounts to upvote themselves** - you will see your point rate decreased proportionally to number of fake accounts upvoting you. If you want your rate to stay full - upvote **only** content that you **like**, not content for which you've been promised something. You have been warned. There will be no future warnings. The change will come into effect sometime **in the following 1-3 weeks**. All upvoting groups activity before 16 Jun 2020 23:59 London time will be excluded. So, seriously, stop now.

There is a bright side to this. We'll reduce payments to cheaters, so good authors will get paid more ;)
Really unfortunate that there will always be people who will cheat, steal, and manipulate to game the system. I hope dealing with spam isn't taking up tooooo much of your time... Y'all are doing a good thing and I'm rooting for you!
Frankly, it's taking a lot of time, but hopefully after the following two updates the problem will be severely decreased.
Why some users do that? They waste this opportunity that given to them. Please guys stop that , be fair enough. We do our best to do our own content but some of the users do that kind of cheat. Thank you read cash for that action. Continue to update us.

I am thankful for your team hard work. I hope that those who scam realize that their doing is wrong and learn to understand the values that read.cash should have for the benefits of all. I can't understand why some are trying to destroy their source of incomes.

I believe this kind of people doing that don't deserve to be here, read.cash is a blogging platform where authors share quality content and gain supporters to upvote their work which can become eventually the sponsors! Doesn't have any point to gamble the system hurting the site quality and become the site useless, this people doing that don't deserve to earn a dime for the site fund and when spotted must be benned from the site, we come here to publish exclusive content and not to find spammers and cheaters... That behaviour must come to an End !😤

What do these group do on Uptrennd? We shouldn't "hope" they won't come. They will. We should detect and prevent them from succeeding :)
Another security improved. This just keeps getting better as read cash keeps seeing loop holes to their system and keep on amending them at the nick of time.
Honestly, I was waiting for such uppdate for a while now. The amount of trashy posts with big number of likes is more than i can count. It made the home page look like a junkyard. Thanks for this update!

I know this is manipulation and I already spoke up about it yesterday. Also shared this info with people, so they understand the implications of their behaviour. But everyone, please don't be so mad at them. They are simply using the incentive mechanism to their advantage. It is 'unfair' and also bad for everyone else, but there is also this incentive simply given. It will have to be adjusted and diminished, then something like that can't happen. As with politics and ecnomics, it is *all* about the incentives. Don't be too harsh with these kids.They'll learn soon enough.

Yeah, I appreciate that a lot. I was directing this towards some commentors, who are justified to be mad, but seem to be very harsh in their judgement. It is important to note, that incentives rule the overall outcome of actions and not necessarily bad will.
Very true. The incentives will determine a group of people's behaviour. You see the same thing in the workplace.

This is such a nice update read.cash for the sake of original creators including me. Honestly, it's pretty unfair when someone do that upvoting system, especially the groups that upvotes themselves. It makes the website a trash because of trashy posts that has no sense at all. If it works that way, the website will surely come to an end and nobody will benefit from it even a small content creator like me. I am happy with that update because it literally uplifts the writer to continue publishing contents and inspire the world with their literary works. With this update, we still have chance to show our talents and extraordinary ideas about the world. To all of you who do that before, it's never to late to change your way. To change your wrong acts is to save read.cash and help it last long. Be responsible enough guys, be more original, and also be AUTHENTIC!!!

Yes, I disseminated the information to my co-user so that not only me would be aware but also them and a lot of people out there who use read.cash. Personally, i love read.cash so much that is why i don't want it to become a trash. I know you will do something to improve the rules and regulation even more😊

The point system is flawed by design. Look at what happened to Steem/Hive: the production of content was incentivized but the quality of this content dropped a lot over the years. People find ways to game the system and to make short-term money. IMO the point system is good to attract new users, but not good to reward good content. I still love read.cash though!
Well, counterargument would be YouTube - it is also incentivized content. We just need to figure out how to incentivize good content producers and disincentivize bad ones :) Not an easy, but doable task.
Thanks for telling us, I tried convincing people yesterday to help upvote one another by sending .01 I didn't really think of it as spamming (it didn't work anyhow) but I could see now how it is probably a bad idea
Good step from read.cash . by these type of groups , the good writters are not promoted for their good articles. Thanks for such a good step against it.
I applaud the initiative for the platform, it is unfair that a number of users have joined to vote for articles that are bad, in addition to creating accounts to take money from the fund dishonestly, they do not care that there are users who are writing and their articles deserve to be read, and voted because they are of quality, stop it is time.
This is really needed. I have have also observed what's obviously "rings" of upvoters who always have a huge number of thumbs up although the material is close to worthless. 20, 30 or even more thumbs up for a couple of sentences that are more or less nonsense! So I certainly applaud this measure.
I don't see any reason why people always like short cuts to money making rather than do the normal work to earn honorably.
This should really be dealth with , they are trying to change the moltive of readcash.
Any changes you make on the site is accepted. Things are really changing for good .
More and more of your available work time are going into preventing abuse of the point system. At the same time, I find less and less content that is actually valuable, and I've even stopped looking at the front page because it is disfunctional as a means of discovery. Comments on articles doesn't appear to be relevant most of the time. I am confident that the point system will have brought in new users, and also that it will have brought in a lot of users. I hope that once the initial growth spurt is done you will take some time and focus on measures that encourages readers to spend money on content creators.

I've had several people just copy and paste part of my article or someone else's in the comments to get points. They tyically add something short at the end. But I just read a comment for one of mine in a community that didn't even bother to say anything extra.
Well done, admins. Let's not tolerate those who keep on violating the rules. It is ver unfair to the authors who really put their time and effort in every article they had published. Read.Cash is a very good platform for writers, please don't just post anything that will make this platform a bad platform. Read.Cash don't derserve violators. Please respect the efforts of the admins in keeping this platform in very good shape.
i believe that this is for everyone here. Its not a good idea to do spamming because thats kind of cheating . Most writers have a very Impormative and interesting articles which not have been recognise due to upvote individuals or groups, the objective of this site is to encourage everyone to be creative writers not to be a creative cheaters and spammers! Anyway thanks for this ReadCash! This served as warning and reminders for those who are involve in this kind of agenda. Im newbie here but i will do my best not to violate your rules. I owe you a lot specially in this kind of program, this is an opportunity for me to develop my skills while earning ( anyway i dont mind if i earn or not ) im just happy to write a story, to inspire, to share what i have . Dont let yourselves be blind of money. Lesson learned : Dont be GREEDY!
