Behind The Veil.
Everyone who saw him called him a college dropout
Now he is balling, they want to listen to him as he is sold out
I thought this was the person they have judged and said can't pop out?
Now his success is growing strong, giving detractors blackout
Everyone thought he wouldn't do much, so his thoughts they block out
If life was a game played in the rings of people's heads, he'd have gotten a knockout
But life is about what you make out of it with who you are on the inside out
No one would give you the chance to succeed as you'd have wanted
Not many people would believe in your dreams unless you take the step out
If you can't convince yourself that you can do it, how would anyone even listen to you?
If you can't take the step to follow your dreams, who would do it for you?
Everyone has a dream but the problem is selling it to others
Everyone has a story to tell, the problem is how you tell and share yours
It's normal, oh, absolutely normal for others not to see what you've seen
Life is a teacher, it's your duty to teach others and make them see the possibility
Some would follow you and believe, others would run off from the responsibility
You don't need many people, but loyal people that can give you sustainability
After buying into your dream so they can express their tenacity
Tenacity to follow through with your dream amid so much hostility
It's the world we live in but not many people would believe you
They don't have to anyway, as long as your dream doesn't die with you - continuity
How badly do you want your dream and the world to hear you?
What motivates you to pursue rigorously the things you desire?
Are you after the applause or do you just want to prove others wrong?
What do you do after the applause? And when it quietens down?
What do you do after proving doubters wrong?
Do you relax on that success or do you put out a new song?
Your motivation must not be about proving others wrong alone
Neither should it be for the applause as you ride on the waves
You have to have an indomitable will to succeed
Not only for yourself but to give hope to others who aren't as tough as you
Because you had it tough doesn't mean others have to repeat the process
We are here to make life easier a bit for one another on the path to success
And we have different capabilities as some are comfortable being on their long recess
We are responsible for what we make out of our lives and that's the fact. The story of Kanye West that I shared before now keeps playing in my head like a favourite tune on repeat. If you haven't read it, kindly see it here: You Only Know What You Know.
Humans are fueled by adding titles to their names because they feel it would make others look at them differently. I have nothing against those who feel offended when people don't address them by their title because let's face it, they worked hard to achieve that, right? We have those who push themselves against all odds to get recognized and earn the respect of society. I respect those people too because it shows they want to prove a point and show others that whatever you want can be achieved if you don't rest on it.
We have seen those who painstakingly put themselves through to school, those who defied the odds because they want to be something. No one wants to be overlooked. No one wants to be ignored. No one wants to be shoved aside so everyone tries to carve a name for themselves however they can even if the influences of others can overshadow theirs sometimes. Even a brick wants to be something, how much more, a human.
My major concern is against those who think it's all about the title because who you are is what makes the title. You cannot focus on the title and forget who you are on the inside. It doesn't matter what society calls you but when the ovation quietens, when there is no one to give you the validation of who you are, who do you tell yourself that you are? This is why a lot of people despite achieving so much in the human eyes, still feel empty on the inside because they live for the validation of others and when others withdraw their validation, they simply forget who they are. Who you are is greater than what you have because what you have is a result of who you are. Don't get it twisted or backwards.
It doesn't matter if you don't have the brain to go to college but that which you can do better than others, stick to it. It doesn't matter if you don't have a rich dad to fund the life you desire for yourself, with patience and sheer determination, you can make one for yourself and also help your children so they won't repeat your experience. It doesn't matter if you are not working a white-collar job as most of your mates but what are you doing for yourself, to create a name for yourself and also not be at the mercy of others?
Life would never be perfect because you will make decisions you will later regret sometimes but what you can make out of it, that's all that matters and that's what others would also see even if some can be unforgiven as they hold on to your mistake longer than you'd exist. Who are you when no one is looking? Who is the person behind the veil? That's what determines your fulfilment...
Thank you for your time.
My pen doesn't bleed, it speaks. I am love's chemical content in human form and that's why I advise people to take a dose of "Olawalium" daily. 🙈

Don't stop learning. Be teacheable at it's finest and absorb every lessons..Life will do everything it can to show to us our weaknesses but it's up to us on how we use it.. we cry about it or we use it as our strength.. It all depends on us..
