Everyone who saw him called him a college dropout
Now he is balling, they want to listen to him as he is sold out
I thought this was the person they have judged and said can't pop out?
Now his success is growing strong, giving detractors blackout
Everyone thought he wouldn't do much, so his thoughts they block out
If life was a game played in the rings of people's heads, he'd have gotten a knockout
But life is about what you make out of it with who you are on the inside out
No one would give you the chance to succeed as you'd have wanted
Not many people would believe in your dreams unless you take the step out
If you can't convince yourself that you can do it, how would anyone even listen to you?
If you can't take the step to follow your dreams, who would do it for you?
Everyone has a dream but the problem is selling it to others
Everyone has a story to tell, the problem is how you tell and share yours
It's normal, oh, absolutely normal for others not to see what you've seen
Life is a teacher, it's your duty to teach others and make them see the possibility
Some would follow you and believe, others would run off from the responsibility
You don't need many people, but loyal people that can give you sustainability
After buying into your dream so they can express their tenacity
Tenacity to follow through with your dream amid so much hostility
It's the world we live in but not many people would believe you
They don't have to anyway, as long as your dream doesn't die with you - continuity
How badly do you want your dream and the world to hear you?
What motivates you to pursue rigorously the things you desire?
Are you after the applause or do you just want to prove others wrong?
What do you do after the applause? And when it quietens down?
What do you do after proving doubters wrong?
Do you relax on that success or do you put out a new song?
Your motivation must not be about proving others wrong alone
Neither should it be for the applause as you ride on the waves
You have to have an indomitable will to succeed
Not only for yourself but to give hope to others who aren't as tough as you
Because you had it tough doesn't mean others have to repeat the process
We are here to make life easier a bit for one another on the path to success
And we have different capabilities as some are comfortable being on their long recess

We are responsible for what we make out of our lives and that's the fact. The story of Kanye West that I shared before now keeps playing in my head like a favourite tune on repeat. If you haven't read it, kindly see it here: You Only Know What You Know.

Humans are fueled by adding titles to their names because they feel it would make others look at them differently. I have nothing against those who feel offended when people don't address them by their title because let's face it, they worked hard to achieve that, right? We have those who push themselves against all odds to get recognized and earn the respect of society. I respect those people too because it shows they want to prove a point and show others that whatever you want can be achieved if you don't rest on it.

We have seen those who painstakingly put themselves through to school, those who defied the odds because they want to be something. No one wants to be overlooked. No one wants to be ignored. No one wants to be shoved aside so everyone tries to carve a name for themselves however they can even if the influences of others can overshadow theirs sometimes. Even a brick wants to be something, how much more, a human.

My major concern is against those who think it's all about the title because who you are is what makes the title. You cannot focus on the title and forget who you are on the inside. It doesn't matter what society calls you but when the ovation quietens, when there is no one to give you the validation of who you are, who do you tell yourself that you are? This is why a lot of people despite achieving so much in the human eyes, still feel empty on the inside because they live for the validation of others and when others withdraw their validation, they simply forget who they are. Who you are is greater than what you have because what you have is a result of who you are. Don't get it twisted or backwards.

It doesn't matter if you don't have the brain to go to college but that which you can do better than others, stick to it. It doesn't matter if you don't have a rich dad to fund the life you desire for yourself, with patience and sheer determination, you can make one for yourself and also help your children so they won't repeat your experience. It doesn't matter if you are not working a white-collar job as most of your mates but what are you doing for yourself, to create a name for yourself and also not be at the mercy of others?

Life would never be perfect because you will make decisions you will later regret sometimes but what you can make out of it, that's all that matters and that's what others would also see even if some can be unforgiven as they hold on to your mistake longer than you'd exist. Who are you when no one is looking? Who is the person behind the veil? That's what determines your fulfilment...

Thank you for your time.

Don't stop learning. Be teacheable at it's finest and absorb every lessons..Life will do everything it can to show to us our weaknesses but it's up to us on how we use it.. we cry about it or we use it as our strength.. It all depends on us..

Education is not the basis of success but it has something to say when you apply for a job. At the end of the day, whether we like it or not, we gotta do everything that we can do best to make our lives worth-living.

Yes, we have to do what we can do based on our talents and capabilities.

Growth can be found also outside the four corners of a classroom. We have different keys to unlock success, some are meant to use their educational degrees, some have their perseverance. Kanye is one of those I look up to when it comes to celebrities. He's one of the living legends who proves that we can never go wrong with determination and perseverance.

Determination and perseverance...that's right. Yes, we all have different ways to succeed and they vary depending on the individual.

This statement is very important to me and seems to be facing reality. I like the word so much that I can seize it very well. No one will give me a chance to succeed as I wanted, many people will not believe my dream if I do not take action, if I do not convince myself that I can do it, no one will listen to me. So to me, the beautiful words that we have to establish our own merits really explain the real aspects of life in a beautiful way, what is the goal of our life, what should we do, thank you.

It's better to prove to yourself that you can do it. Believe in your abilities and talents. Love yourself more. We all have our own strengths and weaknesses and we can't do it all but we can do what we focus on to do. Success doesn't stop. Education doesn't stop. Keep going.

The first and most important thing is for us humans to have the strength to admit our mistakes. We all do not have this power in a certain situation or we try to avoid responsibility. We are human beings, good and bad.

A matter of choice, whether to be like what we want or not. How we live life, and how we want it to end. After all, life is short and it always up to us to keep chasing the dreams we want.

So much to say from this article cause I read it very well, I love the ending part, my pen doesn't bleed it speak. Everyone want something for themselves and the way the get it matters a lot, thats why people tend to be insulted when they don't get the respect they demand, you can take a chief for an example or Dr cert holder, Mr bamidele my lecturer would get so angry at you if you don't call him Dr bamidele

Education is not just about going to school and learn but it's about how you can live this life lika an educated person can be, you don't need any validation on anyone but yourself, this society sets standards that painted in everyones mind but instead of achieving it, go and make your own standard, you don't need to be like everyone.

I'm not a fan of Kanye West but that story got me. I know many who never finish their college/university, never got a degree but were very successful in life. Education will not guarantee you wealth but those who are strong enough to build themselves up and persevere win. Even at first, no one believes in them. Even it means they have to face all the challenges and failures, whatever it takes to prove to everyone most especially themselves that he/she can win this too. And that everyone can be successful regardless of their background. And the only validation we need is ours. Although listening won't harm us.

Very true, sweet Momma. Yes, I wasn't a fan of Kanye but what I watched in his documentary made me respect him just a little more. Yes, he has some issues but I think he is just screaming for help. His story caught my attention too and I was able to see what he made out for himself.

Anyone can be successful, that's the truth. It depends on how badly that person wants it. Thank you so much, momma.

Life after school is what matters, I know some people who did not even finish school but are more successful than those who graduated. It still depends on the person, how he/she wants his/her future to be.

Exactly, my friend. It depends on the person and what that person has chosen to be.

Living for the validation of others can't take anyone far. But building yourself from the inside erupts that validity, which will definitely take you far.

We don't need to wait for people's appraisal before we can be motivated or inspired, we just need to buckle up and prove to the world your worth. What matters most is how you see yourself behind the veil.

It's always how we see ourselves that matters, that's right KP. We should be our own number 1 fan before anyone else.

Indeed life can never be perfect, after all we ourselves are imperfect. The person behind the veil shouldn't be the one who needs people validation or applause towards his or her achievement. The veil should tell a story of how powerful, earth waking and incredible your story is and continue to be.

Is actually a daily struggle for me being the last born of the family always want to put what others think of me ahead of everything and after I don't get the attention I wanted after wanting that attention it becomes a problem, am back to square one again, I think now when everything quietens down am just going to rest on that success I built for myself and that's all ooh

That rap is dope and there is a huge difference between title and personality, I have seen people with titles but stop people from adding it to their name while some get angry when not included.

It doesn't define someone so I don't give a shit about it. We have the power to turn situations around when it has to do with our lives, it is either you stay down as predicted or fight through to be what you have always dreamt for.

$ 0.05

Exactly, my brother. It doesn't add anything to me that I haven't added to myself either. I am always alarmed when people correct another person to add "brother" or "sister" to their names as though it would suddenly increase their worth. Our worth is in who we are, not even in what they call us.
