Saturday Service, Catching Up With Ate Dyreen and Policy Review
Hello dear, read friends! I am here again for another day in my life. Back when we were still living in the city, we used to go to church every Saturday. Our church has a service in the afternoon on Saturdays, there's also one in the morning on Sundays and another one in the afternoon.
Most of the time, we take the Saturdays but we also go to church on some Sundays. The preaching is the same on those days so we opt to take the Saturdays because we want to either stay at home on Sundays or go somewhere for Family Day.
So since we are in Cebu City, we decided to go to church, and let me narrate to you how that went.
Since the pandemic, our church in IT Park had made several months or even a year of no physical service. And the church took it as an opportunity to build a bigger sanctuary.
Before we use the front area of the Skyrise building next to the Rose Pharmacy but today, a bigger sanctuary is available for every service and that's located a few meters away from the old sanctuary, we just need to get into the main entrance of the building and so we have these buildings view whenever we are on the way to church. Back then, we were still driving our motorcycle.
IT Park is like the BPO hub of Cebu City. Most of the buildings here if not all have offices of BPO companies. I have tried looking for a job here but I accepted the job somewhere else. My last company is in Business Park though just a few minutes away from here.
IT Park is so alive now because of the opening of malls and dining areas like Sugbu Mercado. If you are from Cebu, you'd know what I mean and most probably had been to Sugbu too and to my non Cebuano readers, if you visit Cebu, you might as well check out IT Park.
There's a mall which had opened here back in the early 2020. It's Ayala Malls Central Bloc. It's been awhile since we got here. But nothing much had changed since our last visit.
I guess there were some stores that had opened up, but there's an unli chicken wings restaurant that I badly want to try however, when we got there, it was fully booked and it would take time for us to be catered so we just decided to go to Chowking.
There was no queue in Chowking and that's a good thing, we ordered our favorites Chaofan, Lumpia for Matti, my favorite Kangkong plus a sweet and sour fish meal.
I left a note for Appics exposure too as I wrote the information on the receipt.
Somehow, Matti was happy at the restaurant. He was sitting with his papa as always. By the afternoon, we went to the sanctuary, we met our church friends and pastors and we were welcomed, most of them were asking if we are staying in Cebu for good but we told them we were just visiting.
I miss doing ministry, we used to cover events and also take part of the music ministry for my husband for the BPO life service but that has been dissolved now due to the pandemic.
I am so glad to see my churchmates. But there's one more person that we need to meet that day, and that's Ate Dyreen, our agent for Matti's policy. She set this appointment because she wanted to have an annual policy review.
She invited us for dinner at PHAT PHO instead after service which I gladly accepted. We have never eaten in this restaurant yet although we had tried some Vietnamese food before which I can't anymore remember how they tasted.
We ordered a few and I was surprised that this simple Taoge salad tasted really good! Matti loved the chips that it came with it and so we ordered additional for him.
It's almost two years now that we are paying for Matti's policy. Ate Dyreen congratulated us and even encouraged us to also add more policies. An individual can have a maximum of 7 policies so we can add more, but of course there are many things to consider and we don't want to add more but unable to pay for it so let's just keep it that way for now.
To those who are expecting a baby, I highly recommend you get the policy at zero age, time is a very big factor in getting an insurance policy.
