What's up, folks! I hope y'all had a lovely weekend and staying safe wherever you find yourself.
Another beautiful week here. And we're a few days to the end of June and the start of a new month. How have been your days in June so far, have you met your target for the month? If yes, that's great, but if you, keep in mind you've three more days to go. Three days might seem small, but a lot can be achieved if you put your heart into it.
Here at the Patronage, the week begins with the announcement of the new beneficiaries. But before that, let me share this piece of poetry without you.
How can we betray the future?
My father wanted me to attend a public school,
Because that's where quality education lies from ages,
That was every parents aspiration for their children–then,
I'm not even sure maybe;
That's what I wanted for my children–now.
It's a pride to be a graduate in your family,
A professor feeling much like a king,
But now I see it still – Millions of graduates drifting around the street,
So many intelligent broke professors,
How can it just disappear that way– our pride?
It was never secured to be a Nigerian,
Insecurity is the guarantee for an average citizen,
Good governance fell off the back of a horse,
Our leaders become economical with the truth,
Bittersweet emotions running through our veins.
Arise! the giant of Africa,
We are strong enough to fight for our lost glory,
Let's stand to stop the ills in our country,
If not for our own sake, just maybe;
For the sake of our children.
If we failed to do that, then;
We have betrayed the future.
The Euro Upset. The Netherlands were favorites to proceed to the quarterfinals phase ahead of Czech, but that didn't happen. Czech knocked them out of the competition with a 2-0 victory. Though this came after a red card to Netherland defender, De Ligt, in the 55th minute. The Oranje played the rest of the match with 10 men, and Czech made good use of the advantage. Czech has joined Denmark and Italy in the quarterfinals phase and Belgium looks likely to join them in some minutes' time, as they are currently leading Portugal by a lone goal with 30 minutes of play remaining. This encounter has not been decided yet as there is still a lot of time for Portugal to turn this around with an equalizer.
Update: The match ended 1-0, so Portugal is out of the competition as Belgium proceeds to the Quarterfinals.
RIP Uncle. My uncle has been put to rest and I'm glad the event was without any hitch. I wanted to be there, but couldn't make the journey majorly due to my health concerns. I sent some financial support and then was able to reach out to his family. Now it's up to us to look after his children and I will do my part in that regard. May he rest in peace.
Back to the Patronage

As for me, my work continues. I have to follow the two beneficiaries through the week to subscribe, sponsor them, read and tip their posts with the little amount I could afford to give at the time.
Below are the benefits offered by the patronage initiative to the weekly beneficiaries. The nominators (users that nominated them) are not left out.
Subscriber(s): I will subscribe to the beneficiaries and hopefully, other users will also get to subscribe to them.
Sponsorship: I will send a sponsor offer to both users and it's up to them to accept or reject the offer. Note: You have to activate your sponsor block to be able to get sponsored.
Tips: lastly, I will read and tip up to 7 articles published by the beneficiaries within the week.
Nominators Bonus: The users who participated in the nomination rounds by nominating other users are not left out. Their nomination comment will be tipped by me. Also, those that nominated the users that became beneficiaries of the week will get an extra tip.
A few more things
To encourage users to participate in the nomination round, I will tip comments, especially nomination comments that give reasons for nominating the users.
I will only tip articles written in English. I can't tip what I can neither read nor understand.
The tip amount depends on the quality of your article. And I reserve the right not to tip your articles. As much as I want to support users to publish more, I also want to encourage them to stick to a level of quality which we will all appreciate.
Yes, you can vote for the same users as the user before you. As the more nominations, a user gets, the more his/her chances of topping.
