Sportbet.one: How a Decentralized Sportsbook is Changing the Game of Sports Betting Let me introduce you to Sportbet.one a real hybrid gambling dapp. With hybrid I do mean that you can choose for the regular centralized way of betting (traditional betting) or experience the **decentralized way of betting** . It does run on the EOS blockchain, which is fast and cheap to use. Regardless of which option you take, there is NO KYC requirement! So, you can gamble anonymously. It does operate within the complete world, so no VPN is needed. Even not in the United States. Besides this, of course, blockchain gambling is their main selling point and their biggest pro! https://sbetp.com/d64bae6d9 While their main focus is on sports betting, they also do have a casino part on their site. No own developed games but games from well-known and trusted providers like: BGaming, Evolution, Ezugi, Mascot Gaming, OneTouch, Platipus, SmartSoft, Tomhorn, and Triple Cherry. Signing Up Creating an account is pretty simple. But the first thing you need to decide is what road you will take. Do want the regular centralized version, where you do deposit funds in your account and play from there, or do you take the decentralized road, where no deposit is needed and you just can place your bets via a EOS wallet. Regardless of the road you take, no KYC is needed. No hassle with document, copies of passports or whatever. When you take the decentralized option, you will miss out on a deposit bonus, but there is no need to deposit any funds. Which is of course a much safer way. **When you take the centralized option, they do offer a 125% deposit bonus up to $1000!!!!** They will create an EOS account for you, but of course you don’t have the keys to this. So regardless of the option you do choose, you can bet with EOS, mBTC, ETH, USDT, Litecoin or Sbet. You can just link your facebook, google or twitter account and off you go. Or you can create an account with the combination of email address and password. This is of course much more anonymous than via a social media account. Sports and markets! Like I wrote above their main focus is sports betting. And in this case, it is important to see which sports and betting markets they do offer! Compared to most online bookmakers, sportbet.one has less betting markets and sports available, but this isn't a bad case. On the other hand they do have the ever lasting growing e-sports markets. The following sports are available to bet on at the moment: Football (Soccer) Basketball Tennis Baseball American Football Hockey E-sports Boxing Volleyball Ping Pong Rugby Cricket Australian Football Lesser sports, but also lesser markets per sport. Enough to satisfy 95% of the punters out there. There are bookmakers, where I can't even find the market I am willing to bet on due to the immense offering of markets. That's no problem here. This is a great example how a disadvantage could be a huge advantage for most interest punters. For me personal, Golf is maybe the only sport I am missing on the list but the most important thing is that a player can play every day of the year. What I also like, is that they don’t offer to many betting types for the sports. But the betting types most players do use. They do have a lot of adjustable Asian handicap options. The betting limits will be high enough for 95% of all betters. I don’t know a lot of people who would risk $2500 one a game or 0,099074 BTC on one bet! The website is very simplistic and slick, which is not necessarily bad. It is well organized and easy to find your way around. Within a few clicks, you will probably have the game you do want to bet on. I do prefer this above a fancy website where it is hard to find your way around, takes a dozen of click before you do find the game your are interested in and takes ages to load, due to the big amount of bets. No, here it is simple, straightforward as fast as lighting. Leaderboard We all like competition and for sure sports bettors do. So they listened to the community and do have a weekly leaderboard involving, of course and what else, sports betting. Top 10 of the leaderboard are paid. Don't get your hopes up, because it will be only for the few of us. And for sure not for me. Last week number 10 did wager around $8K. The leaderboard is one of the more permanent bonuses, acting as a loyalty program for dedicated punters. Essentially, every bet placed on the platform will contribute 0.5% to the leaderboard, which has a guaranteed prize pool. At the end of each week, the most successful players will be rewarded with a special prize. The position of individual punters is updated in real-time, with the volume of the leaderboard displayed in EOS. Dividends!!!! Yes the big word is out. Sportbet.one does offer dividends to their shareholders. Paid out once a week. Each Monday before 10 am UTC. The platform’s token is SBET. 3% of every settled bet goes to the dividend pool, and staked SBET tokens take part in the dividend distribution. To get dividends, you need to buy and stake SBET tokens. You don’t need to bet or gamble. SBET is tradable on Coinstore.com There is a hug liquidity, so buying or selling a lot, could have a huge impact on the value. The development team recently released 100M SBET, which is used as liquidity on their exchange. https://h5.coinstore.com/h5/signup?invitCode=143Mxu Currently there aren't a lot of punter using Sportbet.one. But it looks like their user base is growing, which is good for the dividends of course. The more users, the higher the divs will be. There are now in operation for over 4 years and there is still a lot of potential. Their real anonymous and transparent betting is a real winner and more punter should and will find their way to sportbet.one. No doubt about it. https://sbetp.com/d64bae6d9 But investing is always a risk. Regardless how big or small a gambling dapp is. On the positive side, the value SBET did really well during the bear market, but will also not raise to the sky during a next bull market. The only way the value can increase by having more customers. You can find the top 500 SBET holder here: https://www.bloks.io/tokens/SBET-eos-sportbetsbet As you can see the majority of the share are still in hands of the development team. So if they are willing they can cash some out and put this into development. I am trying out their dividends and did purchase a little bit more than 200K sbet. Will let you know how this evolves! The plan is in first instance to keep on buying up to 500K and see from there. Aren't there any cons? Of course there are. The biggest one probably is that they don't own a gambling license. But the transparency via the EOS blockchain does cover this for a little bit. Also the fact that they are worldwide available. You could even see it a little bit as sports betting via the dark web :). Secondly the user base could be considered way to small. This is always the lifeline of a sportbook. Since recently they are trying to promote it and had a no deposit bonus just before Christmas. I do expect more of these promotions in the near future. Conclusion With the max bets, their simple layout, decentralized solution and their NO KYC policy they could have a bright future! For amateur punter to average in stakes, this could be a great addition to the sportsbooks a punter does use! Also for beginning punters their website design and limited betting types could be a gift. They won't drown into unwanted and difficult to understand bets! But like always do you own research before joining and gamble responsible! When joining feel free to use my referral link: https://sbetp.com/d64bae6d9 Cheers, Peter

Belgian cup betting advice! The new World Champions has been crowned only 2 days ago and it is already back to business for the clubs. Strange, strange, strange. But to be honest, I am not complain Finally again more games to chose from. Games, which I hopefully can better predict. In Belgium they do start with cup games. 5 today and 3 tomorrow. I decided to place 2 bets. I did want to move them all to one ticket, but don't want to start with a too big risk. The bets I decided to create one ticket with home dogs. I know that it is the cup and anything can happen in a cup game. But the teams did had a lot of time to prepare this game, so I don't expect any upsets. In the other ticket, 2 over games are expected. Always lot's of drama between Leuven and Kortrijk. In the other game, Union could be considered a home dog also, but the odds for a home win were just too low to bet on. But always plenty of goals when Union plays at home and Oostende is exactly know for their sturdy defense! As usual, when I do play 2 tickets, one winner is enough for a profit. All bets are placed using this bookie! Good luck, Peter

Winner Winner chicken dinner! Today's game: France - Morocco! (Today's odds: 2.7 and 4.8) Sometimes starting to write a new post can be with such a good feeling! For sure if the bets of the previous post all landed softly. While Croatia had the overhand in the first 25 to 30 minutes of the game, it was a sealed deal for Argentina before the mid time. Just like I did expect. 2 bets placed, 2 bets won. Good for a profit of 20 euros. 3 more games left, but I won't bet on the bronze game. There is more like a friendly game, which actually nobody wants to play. Today we will find out who will join Argentina in the final. We do have on one side France and on the other side, unexpectedly, Morocco! On paper we do have a clear favorite France. But there is a reason why Morocco did reach the semis. France vs Morocco! This is a tougher game than yesterday in my opinion. We may not forget that Morocco is the only team left in the cup which is unbeaten. They did start the world cup with a draw against Croatia, followed by back to back wins against Belgium and Canada. In the first knock-out round they kept Spain on a 0-0 draw and marched on via the penalties. Looks like Spain was just the Iberian snack, because Portugal in the main course was eaten alive. Okay, Portugal had more than decent chances to score the equalizer but they didn't. Morocco is the first African country in the semi-final of the World Cup. While they have nothing to loose, the pressure will be immense for these guys. I do think that they are going to use a counter-attack tactic. Starting with an attack mode, could kill them in minutes with the speed of Mbappe! Let's see how France, the favorite for this game, did reach the semi-final. They did start the tournament with wins against Australia and Denmark, followed by an unexpected loss against Tunisia. But in that game, lot's of key players where benched! In the first knock-out round, they crushed Poland followed by an impressive win against England. And yes also it could have been different if Kane didn't miss the penalty. They do have lot's of fire power at the front, with star Mbappe and finisher Giroud! Mbappe is good for 5 goals and 2 assists, while Giroud did find the net 4 times. Most people already forgot Benzema, who should have been the leader of the attack. That's how fast things can go in Football!! I do expect, like most people a victory for France. And yes, I do expect that France will score at least 2 goals. The odds! But it is all about the odds. A victory for France will be around 1.58, which is way too low to bet on. The over 2.5 goals is more appealing with odds of 2.28, which is getting closer in the direction I do want. I could be that France will win against 0, but that is always a tough call. But if you do have the nuts, the odds are 1.81 for a clean sheet for France, and France winning to nil is 2.23. A French victory combined with more than 2.5 goals stand on 2.7, which is going to be my bet. I do see France scoring at least twice. Morocco is a team with lots of spirit in it, and after getting 2-0 behind they will start to move forward. Trying to find a goal, but also leaving lot's of space between midfield and defense and for sure behind the defense. And France has a player which could use that space with his rushes! Mbappe of course. No I do think about that a red card could be a possibility. If Morocco get's behind, they will move forward and maybe will have to use an emergency stop an Mbappe. the only thing which is holding me back is the ref, which doesn't seem to be handing out cards like a candy shop. Still I will place the bet. With the scenario above, combined with the odds of 4.8, it does have value! All bets are placed using this bookie! https://betfury.io/?r=611d04f06fb3544933aa3aed Good luck, Peter

Betting advice: Argentina (Messi) vs Croatia (Modric): odds between 2.9 and 3.35 Strange to write a World Cup football related post when it is freezing here. Normally we are at the start of the summer, now we are only a few days away from winter. Started with 32, now only 4 countries do remain. Today Argentina and Croatia will be facing each other. And the winner will have a shot at the trophy, while the loser is forced to play the unneeded game for third and fourth place. Regardless of the outcome of this game, we can only have respect for Croatia. A country with around 4M people. Last world cup they were runner-up and this one at least 4th! Amazing. The question is how this team will be without Modric. But he is still here, he is playing. And while not seen in the stats, he is the start of every attack. The brains of the team and so much more! On the other side we do have Messi, searching for the trophy he is still missing. The World Cup. It would be strange to have one of the best footballers ever, not having a World Cup on their name. That would be like Tiger Woods never winning a major, Hamilton never a world championship or even Michael Jordan without a ring! Can you imagine this! Beside the World Cup, he literally won everything he could win! His trophy room could be bigger than my house! But this one is still lacking. We all, besides fans of Croatia and Morocco, do hope on a final between Argentina and France but it even could turn out into a final between Croatia and Morocco. Argentina should know by now, that one is never finished with Croatia. They keep on coming back. So they will have to start powerful and score at least before half time! The longer it stays 0-0, the more chance I do see for Croatia! Both team did need penalties to get into the semi-final. The odds! If we do look at the odds, Argentina is the favorite but not by a lot. 1.9 For an Argentinian win, 3.4 for a draw and 4.9 if you do expect that Croatia does win in regular time. The over, which could be possible, stand on 2.44 Argentina to score in the first half on 1.98. Messi to score on 2.28. On real good bets in my opinion, but I am looking for more. To bad, Betfury doesn't have a betbuilder. Otherwise I would have gone for a win for Argentina, with more than 2.5 goals in the game and Messi to score! Messi to score and a win for Argentina stands on 2.9. But Argentina and over 2.5 goes for 3.35. Hard to decided between the 2. So I will bet both. If one is a winner, I will have my money back! All bets are placed using this bookie! https://betfury.io/?r=611d04f06fb3544933aa3aed Good luck, Peter

From 0 to 1 BTC for free! Is it possible? 0.68% Completed. If there is a place where it is possible to go from rag to riches; then it is without a doubt cryptosphere! Not other place. Cryptosphere is a place where you can earn some free Satoshis and turn them into a real and mighty bitcoin. So, that is what I am trying to achieve. My vehicle for this is my favorite BTC faucet, freebitco.in . https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558 There are multiple ways of earning some Satoshi on freebitco.in. I did start with building up a small bankroll and now I am trying to mulitply this. Of course this isn't risk free, but the only things, besides pride, I can loose is time! My state of affairs! I have been tracking my progress since the 11th of September of this year. I did start with a bankroll of 76158 Satoshi. Remember 100 million Satoshi are needed for one mighty bankroll. Currently I am at 680324 Satoshi; but I am also buying some fun tokens with my profit. Not a lot, so far I have only purchased 775, representing a value of 28K Satoshi. The idea that this can be used as a restart when I do go bankrupt, which is always possible. But when bitcoin will break it's all time high again, this is more than $400. Not bad for a few minutes per day! How do I earn? The easiest way, is to login each hour and roll the dice. Since I did join, no idea anymore how long ago this was, I did earn: Not too bad isn't? But they also send out a daily email in which you will find a free spin at their wheel of fortune. Where you can win Satoshi; Lottery tickets and reward points. This reward points can be exchanged for BTC, one you do have collected more than 100K RP. 1 reward point has a value of 1 Satoshi. Getting interest on my holdings! Each day, you do get interest on your BTC holdings. The only requirement is that you do have more than 30K satoshi. So far, I did earn 6557 Satoshi. Currently I do earn around 70 satoshi per day. For doing, euhm, nothing! Gamblimg Okay this is not for the faint at heart and is of course no obligation. But this of course does speed up the process. The more you do gamble, the more you do earn with the hourly faucet. Currently I am in the green, as you can see below. Lotteries! There are 2 lotteries at the site. One if the weekly lottery, where you can win up to 0.1 BTC. On the other side, there is the Win a Lambo lottery! So, far I didn't had any luck with the weekly lottery, but you don't need a lot of tickets to be a lucky winner. As you see the one on 6th place only had 154 tickets. Probably from just the hourly faucet. Each time when you do claim your faucet, you do get a lottery ticket. It can be that easy, but lot's of luck is needed. The win a lambo si drawn twice a year. Each round lasts 6 months. You can earn Golden tickets with the a spin at their Wheel of Fortune (in their daily email) or by gambling. If you win you can choose between the Lambo or the equivalent in BTC. Goal for this year Well I already did reach my goal for this year, which was 500000 Satoshi. Everything I do earn now is a surplus. I do hope to reach 1M Satoshi before we write 1/1/23 or 1% of that ONE mighty BTC. Feel free to join me on this journey on https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558 Cheers, Peter

World cup Quarter-finals betting tips! Odds today: 8.06 After two days of rest, we are getting close to the final phase of the World cup! In the next 2 days all quarterfinals will be played at the World Cup. The first game is to kick-off is the one between Croatia and Brazil, followed by the clash The Netherland – Argentina. At this stage in the tournament, there aren’t any easy predictions anymore. The weak(er) teams are already back home, leaving 8 teams behind, dreaming of the title. In this stage, not only the quality of the team is important, but also fitness, tactics, nerves and above all the willing to win. Croatia – Brazil Most of the world will read Croatia – Neymar but Neymar alone can’t do the job. On the last world cup both teams also did reach the Quarter-Finals. Brazil got eliminated by Belgium, with a surprising tactic, while Croatia did beat Russia after penalties. Just like 4 years ago, Croatia also did need penalties to reach the quarter-finals. This year they did need penalties against Japan. Brazil, on the other side, had no problems with South-Korea. Brazil is and should be consider the favorite in this game, but the favorites don’t always win, ask Spain! But the odds for a Brazilian win are at 1.38 too low to bet on. Even when used in a combo of two bets. The over is also on the lower side with 1.78. And Both Teams to Score is relativity high at 2.20. To win of those bets, Croatia needs to score, which they didn’t do a lot in this World Cup. Two scoreless draws, 4 goals against Canada and 1 against Japan. But besides the game against South-Korea, the games of Brazil weren’t loaded with goals. Only scored 3 in the group phase (2 games without Neymar) and only conceded 1. A first half goal is what this game needs to see an over. In the group stage, Brazil, believe it or not, didn’t score in the first half and Croatia only against Canada. May Brazil win to 0 would be a better bet (odds 2.09) or Brazil wins and under 2.5 goals (odds 3.25). A Goal is the first half is good for odds of 1.32. I do think that Brazil will win in regular time and this isn’t exactly the world cup, where we do see goal after goal. So, I will pick Brazil and under 2.5. The Netherlands – Argentina. Yes, same situation here. Most people do read Netherlands vs Messi. While in the Brazil game, we can see Brazil as favorite, this one is tougher. Yes, The Netherlands did play their A-game, but nor did Argentina. Since match 2, there were already under pressure after the loss against Saudi- Arabia. But we do have two teams here which did score in every game they did play. The Netherlands had an easier previous game against the USA. Argentina did struggle a bit against Australia and with a little bit of luck, they could have played extra-time. I do like the odds on the over 2.5 goals for this game with 2.4. So this will be my bet. And I do really think that The Netherlands have a chance to qualify for the next round, their Coach can create an incredible momentum and let’s plater perform above their qualities. If we should just take a look at the stats, Argentina has to crush the Netherlands, but that will be harder than on paper. The bet So a Brazilian win in a game with less than 3 goal and a great game between the Dutch and the Argentinians with plenty of goals do give combined odds of 8.06, which isn’t bad at all for a 2 game ticket! All bets are placed using this bookie! https://betfury.io/?r=611d04f06fb3544933aa3aed Good luck, Peter

KCS accumulation phase is completed! What crypto to buy next? I have been working on this for some time, but finally I did accumulate 400 KCS, the native coin of the Kucoin exchange. I do know that there are/were rumors about their solvency, but so far they only look like rumors. I did sell a huge sum of my tokens in April with a value of around $17, so buying them back now seems like a bargain. Time will tell if this was a bargain! https://www.kucoin.com/r/rf/7J4wKv Now this accumulation phase is over. I will let it ride from here. When the value go above 10 again, I will sell 25 and will sell another 25 when it is above 15, leaving me a healthy 350 KCS. While the snowball effect isn't as big as on Hive, it does have staking. https://peakd.com/register?ref=fullcoverbetting So I have been looking around to see in what other coins to invest, but all the articles I do read are way too positive about cryptoshpere in 2023. I am not as much looking for a coin which could go over 1000X, but a nice, steady and decent investment. I rarely find articles which coins not to buy. And believe it or not, they can't all go 10x times in the next year. I also need to write that I do believe that we haven't seen the bottom yet of this crypto winter yet. The global economy will continue to be downwards for some time, so not a lot of people are willing or could to invest fresh fiat money into crypto, which is needed to start another bull run. We also know that we have to buy when the value has dropped/is dropping and have to sell when it is climbing, while blood has run through the streets and probably some more blood will follow. I will start investing again on a weekly basis, cost averaging my targets. But which coins to buy? And why? There are almost 8700 coins listed on coinmarketcap, so it is not surprising, that I can't see the wood anymore due to the trees. Just to many of them and we can't investigate them all. Of course we do have the main contenders like Bitcoin and Ethereum but I did read from a stock trader that it is better to have 40 different stocks, than 10. It is all about spreading the risks! I do think that Binance could become one of the big winners of this crypto winter. They really seems steady and healthy, with competitors falling over it give them a lot of market space to conquer! So, yes Binance coin is on the list. Also as one of the top coins it doesn't have enough share in my portfolio! Only a portfolio share of 2.5%, which is too low. https://accounts.binance.me/en/register?ref=18267658 I also am thinking about Cronos, while not in the best shape and the moment, I am willing to take a risk and invest into it. Also with the possibility that it could go bankrupt, but also could go up 3 to 4 times when the bulls do enter the market. A dream I had when I did enter crypto, was to have 100 NEO. With it's current value this could be in reach. But there doesn't seem to be a lot of activity going on there! At the moment I do have 40 NEO, which the most I ever had in my portfolio. But this seems lot a decision of the heart and not the mind. Those are mostly stupid ideas! But what other coins are worth to investigate? Which coins are you buying at the moment? Always open for some ideas! Of course I will do my own investigation! So, some of my personal ideas in here, not a investment advice. I just don't know enough of all the cryptos to give any advice! Or is the best to convert into fiat and run away, never looking back? Could be, but that's not my plan! Cheers, Peter

@TheCryptoGambler

Eek! The kids want a dog! No football today at the World Cup, We will have to wait until Friday for the next game. So since a long time no football or sports betting related post. I had so many ideas to write about. Like: In which crypto should one invest? My great adventure on my favorite BTC faucet, freebitco.in. Where I am trying to accumulate 1 BTC. Not that this even will happen but I do have completed 0.5% of my challenge :) https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558 Being the parent of a teenager. Phew, can tell you that this is a tough job. Or the fact that I have more fiat investment into crypto then I did think. But I decided to write about the fact that our kids want a dog. My oldest sister has some chiwawas. And last week one of them gave birth to 3 puppies. For some reason or the other, this did trigger something for the oldest son. The youngest one quickly jumped onto the wagon. They already do have a name for him/here: Rex or Rexxie! First let me explain that I don't have anything against dogs. Not at all. When I was born, my parents had a dog. A maltese lion dog. Not as big as the name suggests :) Around the age of 7 or 8, I did get a cat. Tapke was his name and he was my big friend. Around the age of 14, a golden retriever joined the family. I even had my own dog. When I started to work, but still lived with my parents, we did find a puppy. We did think that it would grew up as a Berner Senner, but it appear to be a mixture or races. Due to the fact I did still did live with my parents, to had to agree to keep the dog, which they did. When I did move out to an appartement they wanted to keep the dog at their house, which was the smartest decision. So, yes I did grew up with dogs. But having a dog as a kid, is something completely different as having a dog as adult/parent. When you still are a kid, you do feel responsible for the dog/cat, but actually your parent are to ones who do have the full responsibility. They will walk them when you don't want to. They do buy the food and feed them if you don't want to. And so on. So my problems. First, let's start with an opinion! An opinion which probably isn't very popular. To be honest I do see a chiwawa as a dog. I do see it more as a big rat which does bark! Yes they can be sweet, but they are also nasty. I haven been thinking about a dog during the covid pandemic. But when I do think about a dog, I do mean dog. In the sort of a Husky, a Berner Senner, a German sheperd and so on. Those are dogs for me. If my sister would had some of those races, it would have been a tougher decision. Secondly, we do have 2 cats at home. One shelter cat and one British Shorthair. The showcat is a real hunter. Catching and eating mouse and rats on a daily basis. Yes both cats are allowed to go outside when they do desire. No reason to keep cats inside the house when you do have the place. We prefer to let the cats be cats, regardless of breed or costing price. How would they react on a dog in house? Would Ninja see the Chiwawa as some fresh food? He does catch rats bigger than a Chiwawa! We also did tell the boys that if, and this is an IF, a dog will be joining the family. That they should take care of him. Walking around the block, washing him, feeding, etc... . Also time have changed, so these days when you do walk a dog you do have a poop bag with you and clean up the mess. This of course does decrease the interest. Also they do need to help to put up some extra fences around the house, so that the dog/rat can't escape! Also we do love a city trip from time to time. What should we do then with the dog? I don't want to take it with us! No way! So, while I am found on the idea of having a dog. We just don't have the time for it. And again, if will, please let it be a dog!!!! Cheers, Peter

@TheCryptoGambler

Brazil sambaed to the next round! Today's World Cup odds: 3.298 Well Brazil had no trouble beating South Korea. As expected they did want to have the job done before the break and easily succeeded in that. Just like I did predict. When looking back at the Japan - Croatia game, my analysis was spot on, I just didn't connect the right bet with my analysis. I did wrote that both teams would score and that a draw had a good probability, but in stead of picking the draw or both teams to score, I went for the over. Still proud of my judgement. Today's games Tough games today. One could say that Spain is a clear favorite and the bookies do agree with this , with odds of 1.55 for a Spanish victory. But it won't be that easy! Morocco was one of the teams who didn't loose a game in the group stage. Spain on the other hand won against Costa Rica, did draw against Germany and lost against Japan. And the were even virtually eliminated for a few minutes in the game against Japan but were saved by Germany. Still they should have the weapons to dismantle Morocco. I did consider Portugal as one of the dark horses before the tournament started. And they are the slight favorite against Switzerland. Hard to call out the winner. But the games of Portugal rarely disappoint. Often spiced with goals, card and lot's of drama. Would there be a prop bet on Ronaldo where he does claim a goal, which he didn't score? I will go for the over here! Today's ticket Odds of 3.298 not too bad. We will see if it lands! All bets are placed using this bookie! Cheers, Peter

@TheCryptoGambler

Finally entered the winner's circle! World cup today's odds: 4.048 Typically something for me. since the World Cup had started, I have been posting 95% of my bets in advance. Day after day these were loosing tickets. Last Saturday, I was too happy with reaching 10K HP that I didn't post my Saturday's bets. And on Sunday I was just too busy with real life so there wasn't time to place my bets. I could have posted just a screenshot of the ticket, but I rarely do this. I like to explain my bets and write something down. And finally on Saturday I did win my first World Cup bet. I don't know if it was just lady luck smiling at me, or the fact that there were no surprises but probably because there were only 2 games on the ticket. But I did take some risks. The ticket of Saturday had odds of above 6, which is pretty high for only 2 games. I decided to use some combo market. The Netherlands win + over 2.5 goals and the over for the Argentina game. On Sunday I did go for France and over 2.5 combined with England leading at half time. The Sunday ticket did have odds of 4.11. Today's bet Just like in the past 2 days, 2 games today. In both surprisingly an Asian country. I do have to admit that I do like how the Japanese team does play. And with in the back of the mind that they did win against Germany and Spain, we shouldn't underestimate them. Still Croatia is a slight favorite. But they didn't impress me at all and were on the verge of elimination against Belgium in the group stage. Japan will give possession to Croatia and will try to score on the counter attack, which is very well possible. I do find it hard to predict the winner in this game. Croatie did net 4 against Canada and I do see them netting at least one today. But also Japan will score. There could result into a draw after regular time and even go to penalties. But I hate betting on the draw and will go for the over. In the other game we do find South Korea and Brazil, where Neymar is fit again. I expect an easy win for Brazil and do see them leading at halt time. The odds that Brazil does lead at the mid time break is 1.76, which is good enough for me. Combined odds for the ticket = 4.048! Good luck, Peter

@TheCryptoGambler

Germany surprisingly eliminated, Belgium got what they deserved! Today's odds: 13.556 Let's look back before looking forward. Japan did great and didn't steal their qualification. If you can win against Spain and Germany, the two top teams of the group, it is will deserved. Really like their playing style with lots of pace and more or less directly to the goal in contrast to the tikki takka of Spain, who did again had 992 completed passes. But only a few of them creating a dangerous situation. Spain didn't mind loosing this game and will now face Morocco! Belgium, o dear. We can say that we had some chances to score the winning goal and maybe Lukaku should have netted a ball but they didn't loose the qualification in this game. The coach was on a drift for the complete tournament and even did line up the second oldest starting 11 ever at a world cup game. But also they players are to blame, showing no grinta or passion in the first two games. But we may not forget that what they did in the past 8 years for the Belgian football, splendid results for such a small country. The new coach can start with a new generation! Group G Brazil is already qualified but the absence of Neymar is clearly visible. Now they will face Cameroon. The other game in the group is between Switzerland and Serbia. While Serbia looks the weaker team of the group, they do score pretty easily. Switzerland is running like a switch watch, only they did find the net once, which does trouble me a little bit. If Brazil does what is has to do, they the winner of this game will join Brazil into the next round. I do think that Switzerland will swing into the next round with a victory, in the other game the over seems like a safer bet. Cameroon does score easy and even without Neymar Brazil has enough fire power! Group H Also in the last group a nation is already assured of a prolonged stay at the World Cup, Portugal. The question I do have with Portugal is if it would be better to play with or without Ronaldo! Just like in group G, three team still have a chance to join Portugal. Ghana has 3 points and South Korea and Uruguay only 1. Also here the danger, for a punter, is that it is unknown yet if and how many player Portugal will give some rest. For Uruguay it is simple, they do need a victory against Ghana, which is on paper easier than it looks. But this can be an interesting game. Uruguay can't be blamed of playing attractive football, with a scoreless draw against South Korea and a 2-0 loss against Portugal. But they had a decent amount of chances against Portugal. Ghana on the other side plays football. This did result into a 3-2 victory over South Korea but a 3-2 loss against Portugal. With the probability that a draw would bring them to the next round, I don't expect them to play with an open vizor! Still I do expect plenty of goals! Even with a B squad Portugal has a decent chance of winning against South Korea, but keep in mind that a draw is enough to win the group. And with Brazil more than likely to win group G, you really want to win the group and avoid Brazil in the next round! Today's ticket! When filling in the ticket, I did make a last minute change and decided to play the double chance for Portugal. So a win or a draw for Portugal would be enough to win that bet. Also surprised about the odds, because I do feel that this is a good ticket. But the odds did go above 13, and it could have been higher if I didn't play the double chance for Portugal! All bets are placed using this bookie! Good luck, Peter

The new listings portfolio: a stupid experiment! But interesting! We all have to do something stupid in our lives. Probably more than one stupid thing. But in this case, I do know in advance that it probably is stupid. But I will just ignore that. Also people which aren't involved in crypto do have the opinion that each crypto investment is stupid. Time will tell who is right about this. We all know that in crypto, as on the stock markets, we have to buy when blood runs through the streets. But with my limited knowledge about all the coins out there, it is hard to see which coins to purchase. Of course, I will try to accumulate as much of the big ones as I can. But those wont make me a millionaire. So time, to do a monkey experiment in crypto. And yes, I am the monkey in this. The experiment explained! The undiscovered crypto gems are the ones that can make you rich(er). Or at least a little bit less poor! Okay, they even can make you poorer. But it is hard to pick the right ones, without hours of investigation. Most crypto I do have where purchased after a lot of research and some of them even don't exist anymore. So regardless of my investigations, some do seem like a gamble. Another tough thing is to pick to time to purchase them. One of the top (centralized) crypto exchanges, Kucoin often does list new coins as first from the big exchanges. So each week I will check which are the new listing of that week. I will decide based on name and the small description, which one I will purchase. No deep analysis or investigation will be done! If no new coins are listed, I will skip the week and move on to the next week. I will do this for a year long. When a new coin is chosen, I will invest $25 into it. Meaning that my total investment can ran up to $1300. 52 weeks times $25. https://www.kucoin.com/r/rf/7J4wKv The ones who do know me, know that I will report frequently about the progress of this portfolio. Told you that it is a stupid experiment. There is even a big chance that some of these coins will be delisted after the year is over and for sure within the current bear market. If I can stumble on one coin which goes over the top many times, I will be happy and can make a profit! But I won’t be greedy. With the current market situation, I will make a profit on some of the new listings. Not on short term, but on long term! When a coin has tripled in value, I will withdraw my initial investment from that crypto. So, I can let it ride for free and use the funds to invest into other newcomers. I doubt that this will happen in the first year! The idea behind it is, that every crypto goes up when the bulls do enter the market again. Nobody knows how the cryptoverse will be after one year! The first one! I did my first purchase yesterday within this experiment: Metabeat ($beat). I was capable of purchasing 292.3967 $beat. It has been added to a new portfolio! The new listing experiment Portfolio! The purchasing price was $0.084139. Currently the price is $0.080267. I do have the feeling that after this one, I will have to do some minimal investigation. This looks more like a social platform for music lovers. So probably the first losers has been added to the books :) After a day, the loss is 5.42%. I am really curious to see how this experiment will evolve! The Exchange I will be using Kucoin solely for this experiment. I have been using Kucoin for years now, and I always do see them as the small brother/sister of Binance. https://www.kucoin.com/r/rf/7J4wKv https://www.binance.me/en/activity/referral-entry/CPA?fromActivityPage=true&ref=CPA_007AC124NV Cheers, Peter

BTC interest from a BTC faucet is possible! Earning report October 2022 We all know BTC faucets. Sites where you are rewarded with a small amount of Satoshi per performing a task. Some faucet sites just let you accumulate these Satoshis. And from a point on, they even do rewards you with interest on your faucet earnings. As you can imagine this isn't a jackpot (in the beginning). But it does have a snowball effect. I am using the freebitco.in faucet for a few years now. I do combine the faucet with some gambling, trying to increase my bankroll and earning some more free BTC. This doesn't take a lot of time and there are multiple ways to earn some BTC. https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558 The BTC faucet possibilities There are 3 possible ways to earn some free BTC at freebitco.in.  https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558 1. The real faucet Every hour you can roll the dice and depending on the roll you get some BTC. This starts at 10 Satoshi, but can go up to 0.0096 BTC if you are lucky enough to roll 10000. By playing there high and low game you can increase the base amount won. I for instance do earn at least 30 satoshi earn hour I roll the dice. 2. The wheel of fortune Each day freebitco.in sends out an email. Within this email there is a ticket for a free spin at their wheel of fortune. The following prices can be won: - Satoshi: 50, 500 or 5000 Satoshi - Lottery tickets: 50, 500 or 5000 Lottery tickets - Reward points: 50, 500 or 5000 Reward Points (each reward point does have a value of 1 Satoshi, but you do need 100K to turn them into BTC) - Golden tickets: 1, 5 or 50 Golden tickets. A golden ticket does give you a chance to win a Lambo or the equivalent in BTC - $200 amazon gift card - $1000 iPhone - $15000 Rolex 3. Being a premium member Gives you up to 16 daily free spins at the Wheel of Fortune. To be a premium member one must stake at least 2500 fun tokens. I do have 17K fun tokens there for more than a year which does gives me 8 free spins per day!   The Interest Each day at a random moment in that day, the system will see how big your bankroll is and hand out some interest based on your holdings. The minimum amount of BTC needed is 0.00030000. Last month, for me, this was good enough for some extra 516 Satoshi. Told you that this isn't a lot, but it does grow on a daily basis. But until today I did earn 0.00004917 BTC. And growing each day. Yes it does take some time to get to 30K Satoshi. But with a little bit of luck in the lottery this can happen in one week!   While it doesn't get me rich, it is a push forward and doesn't cost me a lot of time. I do have the dream to reach 250K satoshi before the year is over! I am currently on 0.00194524 BTC. Feel free to join me at: https://freebitco.in/?r=41852558   Cheers, Peter

Champions League Parlay! Parlay builder post! 2 more matchday in the group phase of the Champions League. Within this phase it gets tricky. You must almost rule out all games in which teams do play which already are qualified from the knock-out stages. In some case they still do want to win their group, while other's aren't interest into this. So let's see what group will have games today and what the situation in the group is. Maybe I can combine a decent enough Parlay. Group E Nothing is decided yet in this group. Chelsea does have the lead but still can get eliminated for European Football after the World Cup. The most important game in this group today is the one between Zagreb and Milan. Both do need a win to keep their chances alive. A draw could only help them if the game between Chelsea and Salzburg doesn't end on a draw. So both teams don't have any option to go full out for the win, but this is also dangerous because loosing would mean that they probably will end last in the group. Not so a big issue for Zagreb, but that would be a disgrace for Milan! Milan did win their home game against Zagreb with 3-1 but isn't exactly consistent since then with loosing against Chelsea twice and against Napoli at home. Zagreb at home has a pretty good track record. Only 1 draw at home, and 9 wins. Chelsea lost 1-0 while Salzburg only did take home a point after a 1-1 draw. So if the odds for Milan are above 2, this could be a great game for in the Parlay. Mmh, only 1.81. Not very high with the strong home reputation of Zagreb in the back of our minds and the not really hot streak of Milan. But Milan does need a win and I am confident that they can pull it off. **So a win for Milan it will be!** A win for Chelsea will guarantee them to reach the second phase of the Champions League, a draw would result in at least European Football after the winter stop. Salzburg doesn't need to win this game to qualify if they do win their last game of the group. But why wait and count on that? Salzburg still haven't lost a game, the question is if this streak will be broken for today or not? Chelsea was capable if winning their last 2 games in the Premier League, While Salzburg also only drew against Sturm Graz at home. Resulting in only 2 wins out of the last 5 games in the Austrian Bundesliga. I do favor Chelsea slightly, so let's see what the odds are for a x2 for this game. 1.22 for the x2, which is on the lower side, a win for Chelsea has odds of 1.79. Maybe I won't include this game into a parlay! Group F Real Madrid already did qualify for the next round but they probably still want to win the group. While the situation for Celtic looks disastrous. They still have a small chance to progress. But they need to win against Shaktar at home this evening, while Leipzig may not win against Real. Let's first focus on the RB Leipzig - Real game. For Real it is simple, a draw would be enough to win the group. Leipzig still has the last game of the group as a rescue if they loose today. Regardless of the result in the other game of the group today, they will always qualify if they could win the last game away at Shaktar. We can't ignore that the 6 points Leipzig have all come from the 2 games against Celtic. Loosing 2-0 in Madrid and getting their ass kicked by Shaktar in the opening game with 1-4. So, no not a lot of confidence into Leipzig. The problem with Real is that is will be hard to know if and which players will be rested. Probably no Valverde, no Modric and for sure no Benzema yet. So I will skip this game. If Celtic does want to win a game in this Champions League campaign, the home game against Shaktar is considered their only chance. The odds for a Celtic win are around 1.76, while the double chance stands on 1.23. But a market that does look interesting is the both teams to score. So far, Celtic still needs to score a goal on own ground during this champions league, on the other side Shaktar seems to score in all games but also does concede at least one goal. The odds for the BTTS are around 1.65, while the over 2.5 goals is around 1.69. So only a lit but higher odds for an extra goal. **The BTTS will be the bet for this game!** 2 more group and 4 more games to go, would be great to have an extra bet on the Parlay ticket! Group G So what do we know about group g! City has qualified for the next round but still needs some more points to secure the group win! At the bottom there are still chances for Sevilla and Copenhagen to reach the next round, but those scenarios don't look really realistic. While both teams do need a perfect score, all other results should be in their favor, starting with a loss of Dortmund this evening against City. I do think that Dortmund is the small favorite against City this evening. For sure City will rest some players with the very busy calendar before the World Cup kicks off. Well the odds are clealy in favor of City, which does maybe make a bet on Dortmund double chance very interesting. A win or draw for Dortmund had odds of 2.48, that represents a change of only 40%. I do really think that they do have a better change in not loosing. So probably this will result maybe into a single bet or a very risky parlay. But if you do want to take a chance: **Dortmund 1X @2.48 is a more than decent bet!** Sevilla vs Copenhagen is more difficult to judge for me, due to the fact that Sevilla is my team in Spain. Based on name, one would instantly bet on a home win for Sevilla, but within the current season this isn't a no brainer. Both teams do need a win, not only to keep their chances for the Champions League alive, but a win would more mean that the will play the Europa League after the winter break, which for the moment is the better tournament for them. Take for instance Copenhagen, which is the only teams who still needs to score an goal during this group phase. In the last home game did they did had a scoreless draw at home against City, but City got an early red card within this game. Due to the recent results of Sevilla, mostly in La Liga, did force them to sack their head coach. Under the new coach, the results are slightly better but still not up the standard of Sevilla. During the past weekend they did loose their first game under Sampaoli. Since Sampaoli took over they have 3 draws, one win and a loss. Also Copenhagen isn’t playing the season of their dreams, which also did result into sacking their head manager in the middle of September, but also after that chance things did improve a lot with 4 draws, a win in extra time for the cup and a loss against City. **So Sevilla looks like a more than decent bet with odds of 1.54.** Group H In group H, we do find another top team in trouble. Juventus only has 3 points at the moment after a 3-1 home win against Haifa. But they did loose the game in Maccabi with 2-0. So the chances for both team to qualify for the next round are probably only existing on paper. Juventus is facing an away game at Benfica, while Haifa will have to travel to Paris for the game against PSG. I did some calculations and it appears that if both Juventus and Haifa will win their 2 remaining games, both will qualify for the next round. PSG is the clear and obvious favorite against Haifa. I don't see any value in this game. Don't be fooled by the name of Juventus. They aren't the team they used to be. Benfica is the favorite in this game. While Juventus does have troubles scoring away from home and do lake the away form, I will stay away from this game. To hard to predict. Conclusion I will play one 3 fold parlay and a single bet. There is just too much value in the double chance for Dortmund to ignore it. The 3 fold parlay will consist of: Milan win at Zagreb Sevilla wins at home against Copenhagen BTTS Celtic and Shaktar Combined odds: 4.655 But also a single on Dortmund not to loose at 2.38. Cheers and good luck, Peter Preferred bookie: Betfury https://betfury.io/?r=611d04f06fb3544933aa3aed

Back to sportsbetting! When I did stumble on read many moons ago, I had the idea to write about my sportsbetting adventures. Hence my name. But didn't write a lot of posts about this topic lately, hey didn't even wrote posts at all. With my new employment, which consumes a lot of time, I was just lacking the energy to write posts. Another reason is that I just didn't place any bets! So time for some change! Maybe @bozz did relight my fire! https://peakd.com/@bozz So what is the plan? Well I will play mainly parlays, aka the suckers bet! If bookies do get rich from something it probably are these kinds of bets. As a player you are blinded by the big odds and potential winnings, but @bozz can acknowledge that often one bet is ruining the parlay! https://peakd.com/@bozz But because I just want to have some fun and something to write about, let's make some millions! And if not, at least I did earn some precious BCH. So parlays it is. I will try to post some in advance, but I can't guarantee this but I will keep a track record and also post loosing bets. Still need to find a schedule which does suit me. All my bets will be placed at Betfury. They do have decent enough odds and while there I can use their faucet, building a BFG empire. https://betfury.io/?r=611d04f06fb3544933aa3aed I will start with 2 4 fold parlays today. Let's how this turns out. The first one is based on the Belgian Jupiler Pro League: The other one can be called: this is our ground! So only home team wins! And yes, there is a nood mistake. Anyone which can find it? Cheers, Peter

Crypto Portfolio August 2022 Due to holidays and good weather, I didn't post a portfolio report for July. Even worse, I did move around some stakes and those moves weren't all recorded correctly in my spreadsheet. So comparing the current month with the previous one isn't really possible. Celsius August is also the month that I did wrote off my Celsius holdings. I am trying to stake those tokens again. Which is strange for some, like BCH. I don't believe that the future for BCH is great, but still I do feel that I should have at least 2 BCH in my wallet. For others it is more common like ETH and BTC. The things that happen with Celsius, do make me wonder how exchanges do fund the staking of their customers. Is that a ponzi or how do they fund this. Something try to look into this month. Kucoin I also did move out some funds from KCS. No idea why, but I only do have some Cronos and of course KCS there. I did reach my lower limit on the desired number of KCS, namely 300. I am thinking about pushing them towards 400. But not sure about that. It is still my dark horse. Hive Still on track to reach 10K HP at the end of the year. Too bad this growth isn't native. I do need to purchase Hive from the market to reach my goal. Most of it was funded by selling obsolete Splinterlands cards. And probably I will sell some more. But it is nice to see, that regardless if I do post or not, that my HP does grow with around 2 Hive per day. If I do some more manually curating, this could increase a little bit. TRX and Wink Like I wrote 2 days ago, the Tron flagship gambling dapp is shutting down. So there wasn't any reason for me to hold Wink anymore. In contrast to Dice, Wink did kept its value pretty well. I do know that there is more usage than only Wink, but I am not going to put any investigation into this. I decided to wait on the Live swap and didn't sell. Selling would have been stupid, at the moment that my stakes were released the value already did cripple. So better wait on the swap, which should have a better return. Also doubting if I could keep TRX in my portfolio. I will give myself until the end of the year to have an answer on this question. Although I did wrote of Celsius and the crippling of Live, the current value of my portfolio is almost the same as last month. The potential value did take a dive tough, but this is because I had some stakes double recorded in my spreadsheet. Luckily I wasn't thinking that I was rich! I do expect market conditions more or less the same as in August, but due to the energy crisis in Europe it could take a dive. So I am keeping some USDT aside to make a move if I do feel the timing is right, which of course is always a gamble. Cheers, Peter

@TheCryptoGambler

Wink (cryptocasino) bites the dust! Another crypto casino will stop operating from the 5th of September. In this case it is Wink, once one of the flagships of the Tron blockchain. While it is a pity that they do stop, there were some players with inside information. This is clearly visible at the number of Live and Dice, 2 of their native tokens, sold in the past days. For me personal it is the second blow this year after the Celsius debacle. Wink had 4 coins which would give you some dividens. The main token was Win, which will survive the sunset of Wink, and will be used at other Tron related games. I do have a little bit more than 3M Wink. The Rake token will become useless and there won't be any option to swap it to something else. Which is probably fair because the token could only earned by playing their poker games. It couldn't be traded or anything else. The Dice and Live tokens will be available for swapping. I did unfreeze my Live tokens yesterday, which does take 24 hours. But I am just to late to sell it. It crashed on the market. My Live holdings had a value of around $400 a few days ago, now it is barely worth $160. My other option is to wait on the swap. $DICE and $LIVE token holders will be able to swap their tokens for a combination of WIN, USDD and APENFT at the proportion of 30%, 20% and 50% respectively. The specific rates are as follows: 147 wink 0.02 USDD 32419 APENFT In my case this would mean: Which would be much better than selling it now. The swapping will start from the 16th of September. So if you do have Win, Dice or Live tokens frozen at Wink, do unfreeze them asap. Just make the calculation if it would be worth the wait on the SWAP. Cheers, Peter

The new job: day -50 I have been absent for a while here. I was too busy with a job hunt. But that is finally behind me, so time to resume my actions here. While it still lasts 50 days before I will officially start with the new employer, I already had my first intake with a potential customer. This is more common practice I guess. I am a consultant so the it would be great for the company that I will immediately an assignment from day 1. So I had no problem the clear some time in my agenda. Currently I am still working for a pension funds. I have been doing this for the past 15.5 years. And the changes that my next assignment will also be pension related are slim to non existing. But this change couldn't be more drastic. The potential customer does create sensors to measure some metrics in liquid steel. Do think the temperature, oxygen levels and so on. This is very crucial in a foundry, these measurements determine the quality of the steel for instance. The intake itself did take around 1.5 hours. First they explained what they were doing and they had some questions about my resume. But there were a little bit surprised that I also had many questions. Which I do find strange. The times are over that the companies are the one who could do cherry picking, now the match has to be from 3 sides! The customer, the consultancy firm and of course the consultant. There were, euhm, very surprised that I did have question about hybrid working. Even during the lock downs they did have an exception and only did work 2 weeks from home. I can relate to that for the people working in the factory, but not so much for the IT department. Regardless of this, this client could be very interesting for me. I don't think that they do need a real hard core analyst, but also someone who does help them in setting up the future. For instance they are struggling with implementing scrum in the department, they don't have great specs and so on. But also I did see some potential things which could be improved in the communication with sales and their customers. They are trying hard to implement IOT and stuff like that. So, if they could allow me to work one day per week from home and they do want me as a consultant, I do think that we will have a deal. I do expect some feedback from the sales manager of the consultancy firm today and am pretty curious how that will be. Not only for me this will be starting from scratch, which is what I was looking for, but also at a company who does have their struggles, which means that they are a lot of opportunities to evolve, both for me and them. Also they do have some forced holidays. First I do want to check with the consultancy firm, if they do expect me also to take a holiday then, because if the is the case, it is a no deal. But for the same case, the company isn't interested in me as a consultant. Time will tell. Cheers, Peter

Licking my wounds: Celsius did file for bankruptcy! I did read about the signals here and was in the process of withdrawing my funds. But real life things did get priority and I didn't get everything out. By the filling of this bankruptcy, I do think that it is time to write off the stakes I do have parked in Celsius. If I do look at the overall value I can deal with the loss, but it does hurt some major stakes. I still have 3 coins on Celsius. BTC: 0.0024 ETH: 0.2552 BCH: 1.7988 Due to the market withdrawals, the loss in $ can be doable, but when I do calculate the potential value of this, it is a complete different situation. The BTC at the moment has a value of around $50, ETH goes up to $280 and BCH also does reach a value just above $180. The problem is that this means that more than 80% of my BCH did vaporize. Which does hurt. I do work hard to collect this amount of BCH. And yes there is only one person to blame, which is of course myself. Error 1 was having too much stake of a coin in on place. For sure for BCH this is true because it is so easy to have a own BCH wallet. I was too focussed on getting some interest. Error 2 was not acting fast enough. I did get out some of my stakes but not all of them. Lessons learned I guess/hope. I can regret my actions but that doesn't bring it back. So there is nothing else to do than to start working hard again and earning some BCH again. Cheers, Peter

Summer holiday: day 0 or maybe -1 (testing charging the car) Today is the long awaited day. Finally after 3 years we will be going on our holiday, booked 3 years ago before Covid. For the first time, we won't go to an (all-in) hotel and by plane. This time it is simpler. A camping and we will be travelling by car. But there are major differences between when we did book the holiday and now. First of all, unfortunately Covid is still around and it appears that we are facing a summer wave. In that aspect I am pretty happy that we aren't going to a full crowded hotel but do have some more freedom with our apartment on a camping. A tent wouldn't be one bridge to far for me, but many bridges. Secondly and probably a major difference is the way of transportation. While booking the holiday we both still had fossil powered cars, as good Belgians both did run on diesel. But since a year we both do have EV vehicles. Which of course will make the trip to our destination a lot more interesting/challenging. My car has to biggest driving range. Sound great, but still not up to par with a fossil powered car. My car has a WLPT of 482 km, but that is measured with a constant speed of 48km/hour. When I do charge the car 100%, it indicates a range of 400km, which is still not even close to what it can reach. I do expect a range between 280 en 320 km. Knowing that our destination is around 1150km away, you know what I do see it as a challenge. As a safety measurement we did book a hotel almost half way with a charging station, which should release the charging pressure a lot. Besides that we took a subscription on Tesla superchargers and the Shell network. I did try out the Tesla supercharger yesterday. Just to be sure that it works :) Pretty funny with 12 charging station occupied with Teslas and one with a Polestar :) We did need a on the Tesla network, which did cost us around 13 euro, but the charging costs are cheaper than for instance Fastned. It took around 15 minutes to charge 22KW which isn't that bad. The charging speed was 70KWH. When everything goes smooth and when we do arrive at a charging station where you can just plugin the car I won't have any problem with a charging stop of 45 minutes. Good for a cup of coffee and a smoke. The problem is when there is a line waiting, which could run up in time very fast. There is a difference between having 10 cars in front of you when you are a petrol station, compared to a charging station. So that's why I do call it maybe day -1. Cheers, Peter

Crypto Portfolio Update: June 2022 Another month has passed, okay a few hours left, but in some countries we are already writing July. Not actually looking forward to posting this update and you all probably know why. Another month were the value of the portfolio went south. In contrast to last month, were I also sold some coins, this purely has to do with the market. It is the third consecutive month that the value of the portfolio decreased. And the ' month this year. On the positive side, it is still the double as the same time last year. So it could be worse and can become worse. Time will tell. Hive had a little pump last days and this pump was good enough for it to be the leader of my portfolio with a share of 28%. At the moment of writing this is the only coin in my portfolio which is green compared to a month ago. BTC did loose 37.66%, ETH an astonishing 46%. And it is still too early to say that we did hit rock bottom. But I did try to strengthen some coins in my portfolio. I was able to add 7% more Hive; which reflects to 499 Hive. So my target of 10K HP is still in reach. Also added more BFG, trying to get some passive income in the upcoming months. Would be great if I can double my BFG holdings in the next month. We all know that better times are around the corner; but nobody knows how far that corner is from us. We could face it this month or maybe even next year. Still a great accumulation phase at the moment, but I won't advise anyone to invest fiat money in the market at the moment, which of course doesn't help the market. It is the sam vicious circle like with inflation. When inflation does hit us, we tend to stop spending money, causing a bigger inflation of forcing companies with decrease production; aka lay off people. Strange thing but the best thing people can do when inflation does hit us is spending to get it behind us as soon as possible, but the natural reflex is to save more money! Cheers, Peter

The job search is speeding up! A few weeks ago I decided to open my profile on LinkedIn for new jobs. After working for 25 years for the same company and some things that did happen in the private life in the past 6 months, I decided to pull the trigger. So, I did wrote a new resume opened up my linkedin profile and started a negotiation with the customer I currently am working for. But suddenly things are heating up, even in a faster way than I did for see. Maybe I am not even ready for it. My first major step was looking for an online Python course. Free or charge of course. I did neglect my own evolution way too long in the past. I do have to admit that I do like learning some new stuff. I do try to do this at least an half hour per working day. Yesterday I did had my first interview with a major consultancy firm in my state. Strange that I did accept this invitation because I have no direct plan to work again as a consultant. The major reason for me to switch jobs is that I don't want to do consultancy anymore. I don't have any problems with working for a customer, but as senior consultant a lot is expected outside the 40 hours I do work for the customer. Add to this a sour relationship with my direct manager from the consultancy firm I do work with and you will understand the picture. Today I did get a follow up call from the other consultancy firm, requesting for a new interview but than already with a potential customer. That goes fast. Luckily I am in a position that I don't need to take any offer they throw at me. Just before lunch I did get another call from another consultancy firm. Also here I did accept the interview. There is no reason to decline this. They could offer me an offer I can't refuse on one side (an offer I can't refuse has of course to do with the benefits but also with the sector and technology) and it is a good practice again for me. If I do want to have an interview with a firm I really like, those practice interviews (at least from my side) will be a bonus. As transparent as I am. I did notify my people manager of the customer I am working for. Al tough they did pause the negotiations, I do think that transparency is one the keys to have a blistering career. I will keep you all updated, if you do want of course. Cheers, Peter

We are now building the legacy systems of tomorrow! Like you already know or didn't know. I am planning to find a new job in short term. So the linked page has been updated a new resume was written and I am now trying to build a resume in Prezi. But besides that, getting discovered is important. And regardless if we want it or not, linkedin is an important vehicle for that. So why not try to great platform here as a test for a piece written on LinkedIn. So all feedback is very much appreciated. I am planning to write about a random topic. Not a long post, but more a teaser. While sitting outside with a cup of coffee and thinking about everything it dawned to me that the systems we are building now, will be the legacy systems of tomorrow. Okay tomorrow is maybe a little bit over reacted, but things do go fast in the IT. The speed of progress in technology is incredible. So many moons ago, company X decided that they did need a program to make the life of the employers easier, at least that is what they say. We all know that the real reason behind it is different. So, things aside, a program is build. Over the year the program is expanded with lot's of new technology and functionality, up to a point where the technology used is outdated and maybe even that support on the technology or platform discontinued! So the management decides to build a new one. In contrast to the real world, where people do like evolution in contrast to revolution, the new system has to be state of the art. In the IT departments, the architects and even the programmers only the newest things are good enough. And why not start the development from the basis of the old system? No, they really want to re-invent the wheel. During this process they are probably neglecting 2 things. The first important one on short term is the transition from the old (legacy) system to the new one. During the development, white board session probably some courageous colleague will probably have dropped the line how the integrate the current data in the new one, but most people just ignore that line. They do have a plan in mind how to integrate the most easy cases (aha the MVP) but do forget that the remaining 10 to 20% are the hardest one the migrate. And as long as they aren't migrated, the legacy system will be forced to keep on running, until the last bit has been migrated. Forcing the company to double maintenance, double implementation of new functionality and so on. I have seen this many times and this will still happen in the future. The second thing they do forget in their enthusiasm to start from a clean white board. A real sandbox where everything is possible is that they are building the Legacy system of tomorrow. Like written earlier evolution in technology goes so fast that it is almost mind blowing. Some technologies chosen to be the foundation of the system could be already out of support tomorrow. And from that moment on, the process will just start over again. Even up to a point where a company will have multiple legacy systems running. Resulting in a money pit, where the company keeps on pouring money to keep everything running and in stay in regulation with laws and new regulations. I am not saying that I do have the solution for all of this. But common sense will help lots of companies from making this mistake. Start with the idea in the back of the mind that the legacy system has to be shut down as fast as possible, even if this means that the roadmap of the new system will get delayed, think about bridges to migrate the processes and data, keep this in mind when building the new system. Some decision aren't taken with this knowledge in mind and does cost companies millions of dollars. Some old used methods aren't that bad. Okay maybe not fancy but in some cases more future proof than state-of-the-art solutions. And remind everybody involved that the new system is the legacy system of tomorrow! Cheers, Peter

Taxes, taxes, taxes and even more taxes! We all know that the main income of the governments are taxes. And there are taxes in all forms. Starting with income taxes, VAT, health taxes and property taxes. To bad I do live in a country which can be crowned as World Champion in taxes. I don't mind paying taxes if the money is used correctly by the government. Sometimes it still does feel weird that the I have to pay VAT with the salary which already had income taxes on it. But it is as it is. Today we did receive our property tax. If you do own a house, the government also wants to get some income from that. But the calculation is pretty weird. First each house does get a presumed annual rental value, which is the start of the calculation. This value is pretty fixed. Only when you do a massive overhaul someone will come by and estimate a new revenue cadastral. But there are some strange rules. For instance if you do build a new house with a swimming pool, the swimming pool is integrated in the revenue cadastral. But if you do extend the new house with a swimming pool after the revenue cadastral has been estimated it doesn't have an impact on it. Strange isn't it. But back to the calculation. In Belgium we do have 3 autonomous regions. And depending on the location of the property one of the three regions does collect the taxes. The tax rates do differ, in the Flemish region is it for instance around 2.5% while it is only 1.25%. So we do start with the cadastral revenue, due to the fact that this is based on the virtual annual revenue somewhere in the seventies, it is indexed. For this year the index has been set on 1.9084. So if your cadastral revenue is 1000, 1908.4 is used in the calculation. The first piece is for the autonomous region you do live in. They aren't that greedy. The region wants 3.97% of the indexed cadastral revenue. So, with a cadastral revenue this is 75.75 euro. But we aren't there yet. The next one who does want a piece of it is the state you do live in. They do use a surcharge on the amount you do have to pay to the region. While they are a little bit greedier than the region, it is still acceptable. The surcharge is 214.52. Meaning that for each 100 you do have to pay to the region, they do want 241.52. In this example this would be 162.5. But there is one other party which does want a piece of the cake. And this is the city you do live in. They are the greediest of them all. Worst case is that they can set the surcharge themselves, and of course this does vary a lot from city to city. The city I do live in does use a surcharge of a whopping 1039. So for each 100 you do pay to the region they do want 1039. In this example this does result into 787.04. You can imagine that this all does add up. There are some discount for kids and handicapped persons. In our case that is 183.27. We do have 2 months to pay it. How generous of them :) So, your net income is in fact a lot less than you would think. You still do pay VAT, surcharges, excises and so on. Cheers, Peter

Pure financial discrimination! The tittle says it all. I don’t go often to the office but that will chance from the 1st of July. After that I am the victim of pure discrimination. Forced by the Belgian and Dutch governments. As a person living in one country and working in the other I will be forced due to tax regulations to be at the office every day. Since Covid kicked in homework has become part of our way of living and that will stay the same for most. Normally you do pay income tax in the country you do work in and during Covid an agreement was made between the 2 governments that working from home would still count as like working at the office. But this agreement won’t be prolonged. Currently I do pay my income tax in the Netherlands but if I would continue to work from home, I will have to pay taxes in Belgium, which would means that my net income would decrease with a whopping 20 to 25%! This of course has a big impact so I will be forced to go to the office each and every day. Before Covid I did work one day per week from home and nobody did complain. But now this policy will be followed strictly so I better play it safe. I do think that it is mostly the Belgian government which doesn’t want a prolongation because more Belgium people do work in the Netherlands than the other way around. They just want those extra taxes! This if course does result into pure discrimination because the rest of the team will come to the office once a day and won’t suffer in net salary. One can ague that it was my choice to work abroad, which actually is the case. But when I did start working many moons ago working from hime wasn’t even possible. So I will obey the law, for once, and do what I have to do. In the mean time I do like the Desperado Lime and Cactus 😁 Cheers, Peter

Summer is (finally) coming! We had a great start with some beautiful weeks early in May but after that the weather here went North, with lots of rain. And with lots I do mean lots. The problems was also that this rain came after a period of drought, which means that it is was hard for the earth to absorb the rain. And water does always find a way. But by the looks of it, some great summer weather is heading into our direction. So, by the looks of it, I finished the swimming pool just in time. During the weekend I did connect the last hoses, so now the heat balls on the top of the roof of the lounge can do their work. But these temperatures aren't great for everybody. My oldest son does start with his exams on Thursday, so in stead of enjoying the weather he will be forced to study. But hey, that's only one week after which he has a 2 month school holiday, I kid you not. 2 months!!!!! I do hope that we also do get some of this weather in July and August but time will tell. Will have to make sure that I do work hard enough during the days so that I also can enjoy the swimming pool myself. Cheers, Peter

Re-inventing yourself! Part 1: Work Maybe it is time for an overhaul of myself for once. I am closing to touching 46. That's only a matter of days. And with this age, you do ask yourself more and more the questions: What do you want to do with the rest of your life. I have to admit that the answers on this question don't come easy. Your brains go from left to right, up and down. So, probably it is better to divide this into smaller questions. Like Work, health, family, friends, hobbies and so on. For today I will focus on Work! Career After graduating I did start with one of the bigger IT firm. Not in my own country but in the Netherlands, which is only 20 minutes away. Due to the fact that I didn't see myself as a consultant, I did start with in-house development. Back in the days, mid 99, there wasn't internet on a mobile phone as we know it now. Still we working on this. Back in those days it was possible to ask questions about a specific today via SMS, and you would get an answer back. Think about weather or stocks. But there was also WAP. Wireless Access Protocol, which was the real start of mobile internet. Our text server and WAP server were selling as sweet candies. But after several take-overs, the company did sell their in-house development department and I did had the choice to move over to the consultant part of the company. After some hesitation, I decided to try that out. My first assignment was at a big pension funds. The start date was the first of April 2007. It turned out to be a long April's fool. Because I am still working for that customer. Always as an analyst. I guess I did work in all teams working on the pension system and still am. Meanwhile I did get promoted to senior consultant at my main employer. Which is starting to become a burden at the moment. I do find it tougher and tougher to satisfy to bosses, not even mentioning the one at home. So changes are necessary. I had a discussion with the customer to move over to them. While I don't have anything against them, it seems that the negotiations did dry up. Not a real idea why. I do know that they are searching for lots of new people; but it is more or less against the agreement to take over consultants from our firm. I did hear yesterday from another colleague that he is also discussion this possibility with them, so probably they first want to see if that deal will go through; giving me the idea that I am second hey maybe even third or fourth) in line. Which maybe isn't the case but that is my impression now. To keep all options open, I will have to list up for myself the work which does give me energy and what I do like to do. Also I need to do some investigations to see what field of expertise I do need to improve. As long as I am with my current employer, I can better use the educational budget they have for each consultant. In the mean time, I will update my status on Linkdin and write a new resume. This does sound a lot easier then it looks. I still do think that I do have a chance at the age of 47 to move to a new company, but not consultancy work anymore. I want to build out a new career at a company. Also I will spend each day the rest of the month doing some homework for myself, creating lists and do some online courses. Cheers, Peter

Glow worms! A great gift of nature! Year after year I am surprised to see them again around the house. I don't look for them, I always just stumble on them. Mostly when I do come back from shooting some pool with the mates. After stepping out of the car, they immediately pull my attention. They just look mesmerizing. Okay the photo looks a little bit blurred. Without zooming in enough, you can't see the detail of the body glowing in the dark. I do have to admit that when you take the photo with the flash on, a lot of the magic disappears. Due to the flash they switch of their light in the blink of an eye and you will have this as result. As you can see in the picture above, they actually just look like a bug! Still great creature when their magic is switched on! Cheers, Peter

A busy but interesting Friday awaits us! Fridays normally are not so stressed compared to other weeks days. And the busy and interesting Friday doesn't situated itself on the work floor but in the private part of life. Not only are we in front of the last prolonged weekend for a long time, we also finally have the birthday party for the youngest son! Finally? Yes, finally. His birthday is on the 25th of February but only now we did find place to give his birthday party for his friends. There are several reasons for this delay. First of all, when we had his birthday still lots of Covid restrictions were still in place. Strangely but now 3 months later, Covid seems to be forgotten! We couldn't be more wrong, but it is nice to celebrate life again without too much of a hassle. Another reason to delay his party, because we all did get Covid ourselves. Not really suited when hosting a birthday party. Besides that he is a football player, so lots of potential days to host the party were already taken, or by a game of himself, but also by games for his friends he did want to invite. But finally we are here and he is looking forward to it! He really deserves his part. Always interesting to see how many times he was flipping names who he did want to invite. We did set the maximum on 7 friends. The reason for that is that we are going to play some Gellyball, which appears to be a kid friendly version of paintball. The promise to bruises after being hit. So after 1 an hour we will drive to the school and pick up 5 of the 7 invites. The other 2 are on another school and will be dropped at our house. Around 17.30 we will go to the Gellyball thingy, which should last for an hour. And after that we will have to drive home immediately for some food and another good reason, but more about that later on. The parents will pick up the kids at our home around 20.00. I always do find it interesting to see what the place of our kids is within their friend group. Also when you do look carefully you can easily see the picking order. Interesting for sure, since it has been more than 2 years ago that we could throw a party for him. Date night No, not mine or the misses. But the oldest son decided that it was time for a first date. Okay, maybe he didn't decide it, but was asked. How cool is that :) So this evening he will go to the cinema (theater) together with the girl who did ask him out. Very curious how that will turn out. We already knew that something was going on, because since a week or 2, his phone was going berserk. One message after the other. Not only from the girl who did ask him on a date, but of course also by all her friends, to put some peer pressure I assume. I really can't remember my first date anymore. That was many, many, many moons ago. No no, dinosaurs were already extincted, if you really want to know. There is no pressure at all from us, we are just curious. He is only 13, but thinks he is an adult already :). Which of course he isn't. But I would grant it him, it will be very good for his self esteem. Cheers, Peter

Splinterlands: My experience with the new reward system. The first day of the new reward system is life. And this probably did cause a complete overhaul how you do play #splinterlands. At least in my case that is. Like always when changes are executed, regardless where, what and how, there are always people in favor or against the chances. People do like evolution but often are against revolution. And in this case the overhaul of the reward system is more or less a revolution. https://peakd.com/trending/splinterlands We have to take into mind, that Splinterlands has to satisfy lots of people. From the random player, to the investors. From the real Splinterlands addicts towards new players. It is probably hard for them to find a balance with all stakeholders in mind. They need to make sure that one way or the other the investments from the investors is protected, but they also need to lure in new players and get them to a point that they also start investing in the game. During this process they also may not forget the casual players, which are one of the backbones of the games. This post is from my perspective. A casual player, who did invest some money into the game. I have been playing Splinterlands on or off since the early days. My perspective is based on 2 cornerstones. Did the way I was playing the game have to be changed and is it still worth playing the game, aka what do I earn with it. Last season Maybe the best start is to see what I did earn last. Last season I did end up in Diamond II. I did earn: 22 Legendary potions 19 Alchemy potions 2082 DEC 97 cards (1 golden foil, 21 rare and 1 epic) 4 Chaos packs Besides that I did earn 7267 DEC from the rental market. The new reward system I was a lazy player. I only did play enough to complete my daily quest. Opened the chests and came back the next day. As you know by now, these days are over. Roughly I did need between 7 to 15 battles to complete my daily quest. Normally I do earn 7 chests in the beginning of the season. But suddenly it dawned to me that if I do want to get the same numbers of chests on a daily basis I had to increase my splinterland time a lot. A quick calculation did learn met that I did need to win around 30 battles. Ouch! Luckily my first daily focus was water, which is one of my stronger decks. But quickly I did ran into a loosing streak. Normally this isn't a real problem, but now with so many battles needed, you also need to focus on your capture rate. Meaning that each battle does matter. A loss is maybe even important than a win, this due to the capture rate and the drop in earning because a potential win streak is broken. So I decided to try to win 1 chest per hour. And did reach my goal, but the playtime ... tja ... let's say that it tripled. Ending the season in Diamond II, does grant me Diamond chest for the complete season, which has it's advantages. While there wasn't a big change in the cards I got, the high amount did surprise me. And I do wonder which impact this would have on the value of DEC. With 896 DEC I already did earn more DEC from the chests than last season. To bad, my daily focus for today is fire, which will make it a lot tougher. Season chests I have to admit, that while I don't like it, the season reward is maybe more fair. You get where you work for. Now people who do play a lot, compared to a lazy person like me, will get more rewards like it should be! Capture rate Maybe my biggest problem is the relation between the fact that the reward system now does focus in getting the players to play more battles with the capture rate. Each battle does consume around 2% of your capture rate. I do have a win ratio around 60 to 65%. So with the need to win 7 chests or around 30 battles, I do need to play around 50 to 55 battles, crushing my capture rate. The lower your capture rate is, the lower your won focus and season points are. This is a real contradiction to me. They want us to play more and more or less force us to play more, but do have a system in place which really starts to punish you when you do play more than 25 battles. Mmhh. I really can't remember how long ago it was that my capture rate was below 70% and still going down! Rentals Okay the rental income in the early days of the season, aren't pretty good, but they were at least better than what I am earning now. But this could be a personal thing Overall conclusion I do like the change in the season rewards while this does hurt me. I do hate the coupling between the focus points and the capture rate. I do think that each battle suddenly does matter. More tactical changes are needed from my side, from the amount of games played, to take each battle serious! So yes there are good things and things I don't actually understand. But I guess at the end of the season, the income will/could change my sentiment about the changes. Cheers, Peter
