Twitter ban. From the cryptocurrency by the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) prohibiting financial institutions in Nigeria from facilitating crypto transactions to the FG banning Twitter access in the country, and the proposal to change the country's name from Nigeria to United Africa Republic (UAR) - a country divided among itself - the leaders are simply clueless. They avoid tackling the needs of the citizens they govern and make decisions and take actions that worsen the situation in the country. That said, Nigerian crypto traders were able to circumvent the ban imposed on banks by switching to P2P exchanges. But it's a different case with Twitter, even if they use VPN to bypass the ban, which some are currently using, most of their Twitter followers who are Nigerians won't be online to see and react to their tweets.
Though access to Twitter is still possible through some wi-fi providers and VPN, this is not the most common way to connect to the internet in Nigeria. And with the threat to prosecute anyone that breaches the country's ban on Twitter, I don't see many Nigerians making attempts to use Twitter anytime soon unless the ban is lifted.
This act undermines the human rights of Nigerians. Many groups and institutions have condemned the announcement to suspend Twitter access and are calling on Nigerian authorities to reverse the suspension.
Back to the Patronage
This is the 23rd week of the Patronage. The current beneficiaries are @Musso and @JulyAnn. I have subscribed to both users and also sponsored as well as tipped as many articles as they published within the week. The week has ended and it's time to move on to new beneficiaries.

In the end, @ThisisGrace21 topped the nominee's list with 3 nominations. We had about 5 users - @noisytoothie @JonicaBradley @fredyzza07 @helmetjetrimit @Princessbusayo and @Janz - sharing second place with 2 nominations apiece. So I have to select one of them. After reviewing their pages I selected @fredyzza07 as she has been on here for just 3 weeks and yet to earn up to a dollar on any of her posts.
Remember the intent of the Patronage to support and encourage users, especially newbies who are getting little attention and earning little to nothing on the platform.

As for me, my work continues. I have to follow the two beneficiaries through the week to subscribe, sponsor them, read and tip their posts with the little amount I could afford to give at the time.
Below are the benefits offered by the patronage initiative to the weekly beneficiaries. The nominators (users that nominated them) are not left out.
Subscriber(s): I will subscribe to the beneficiaries and hopefully, other users will also get to subscribe to them.
Sponsorship: I will send a sponsor offer to both users and it's up to them to accept or reject the offer. Note: You have to activate your sponsor block to be able to get sponsored.
Tips: lastly, I will read and tip up to 7 articles published by the beneficiaries within the week.
Nominators Bonus: The users who participated in the nomination rounds by nominating other users are not left out. Their nomination comment will be tipped by me. Also, those that nominated the users that became beneficiaries of the week will get an extra tip.

To encourage users to participate in the nomination round, I will tip comments, especially nomination comments that give reasons for nominating the users.
I will only tip articles written in English. I can't tip what I can neither read nor understand.
The tip amount depends on the quality of your article. And I reserve the right not to tip your articles. As much as I want to support users to publish more, I also want to encourage them to stick to a level of quality which we will all appreciate.
Yes, you can vote for the same users as the user before you. As the more nominations, a user gets, the more his/her chances of topping.
