Hakuna Matata means no worries, this was the title on one of the songs in Lion King. It was a philosophy by the three friends - Pumbaa, Simba and Timon. They lived a life of no worries – for once in their life. However, when all the life and throne threatening events happened, they worry too! We can say that nothing is perfect! But, what a great feeling is it to live a life of no worries for once, right?
For 30 years, I admit I have been on an A to Z of worries, from A- appointments (whether a client meet-up will be successful) to J- who dreads catching my sandal in the jaws of an escalator, and Z- I might be devoured by a Lion on a Zoo! We have worries from nonsense to extremes, frightening ourselves a dozen times a day.
Worries are like toys in our childhood, of which we could not bear to let go and throw out in the garbage. But we can play with these toys or worries sensibly! Such discipline is difficult, but to select which one to worry, if we can, will be an enormous advantage. Assume you are driving along a busy street, worrying that you might be late for a lunch date, you will be tempted to rush drive your car but then at the back of your mind what if you got an accident and wreck yourself and your car? You start to forget about the lunch date and began to be careful in driving; now that is something that works in your advantage.
Nevertheless, worries can lead to anxiety and the later to paranoia, it can also cause upper back pain or Myofascial Pain Syndrome or worst Fibromyalgia which causes severe pain and depression if not dealt with. Psychological disorders and diseases that you dread to happen, so why worry? I urge you to better dismiss worry in your minds. It will only pollute your thoughts with dullness and negativity.
Let the attitude of your life in a continual willingness to “let go” and dependent upon God. Making Him the center of your life means believing that He is our Provider of our need, Deliverer in our struggles and pursuits in life and even Faithful to His promises.
Have a life of no worries and God bless!
