Monday, September 14, when the new system has been implemented. Beforehand, there were issues about freezing points already and different users has been complaining about it. They said their points aren't moving eventhough they published articles, give comments and so on. I was lucky during those times that my points were moving normally, getting good points and payments of $3-5 everyday while others were freezing.
Until last Monday after the system was totally updated, I've noticed my points starting to freezed and moved so slowly. I said to myself, I guess it's my time to freeze just like with others. But I was really curious about it, and once I became curious, I won't stop digging into it until I came up with a reliable answer.
So 2days ago, I emailed ReadCash because my curiosity keeps bugging me;
ReadCash was on the mood to reply that time 😅 so luckily I've got his response to my email later that day.
He explained that it was just a myth about freezing points, and all our understanding on how to get points are wrong. He said, there's only one reason why our points aren't moving, and that is because we didn't received upvote yet from power user.
Then just today, ReadCash included a new feature which explains why the points isn't increasing so everyone will understand and will be aware about the point system.
WHAT IS RANDOM REWARDER AND POWER USER?
The Random Rewarder is the way to split the daily payout from our fund.
The main goal is to stimulate people to create content that will be interesting and that people would want to interact with and at the same time to stimulate people to interact with the content.
The points will be given for the following actions:
Upvote of your comment, article or post by a power user randomly gives zero to a few hundred points, mostly - zero points;
The power users are just regular users that suddenly have super-powers. To get 40 points for 10 thumbs up at least one of these thumbs up must come from a power user. To get 160 points for 40 thumbs up - at least two of these should come from a power user.
Your post also won't make it to the home page unless one of the power user upvotes it.
To prevent abuse the power users don't know about their status.
If your post gets 10 real upvotes - then for sure at least one of them will come from a power user - that's just how natural voting works.
This system started when the spammers and abusers (creating multiple accounts and upvoting their own articles) escalated a month ago. Then just few weeks ago, these spammers/plagiarizers became a big problem again here which leads to another updates and became more strict system.
Readcash said it's about power user upvote. I am a user for two months now and this system has been implemented a month ago and everyone were benefiting the point system. But the problem of consistent freezing/decreasing of points only happens after the spammers have been muted and changes on system have made.
Do you really know why?
Have you ever heard about Upvoting Groups?
Some of our users decided it would be a great idea to form upvoting groups (otherwise known as "upvoting rings"), where members upvote each other in exchange for upvotes by other members.
This is another way of spamming read.cash, taking the fund money dishonestly and therefore all will be punished, unless these group stop.
Upvoting content based on random group participation, not because the content is good. So, bad content rises to the top and makes read.cash look bad. ReadCash will not pay for this behaviour.
The point rate decreased proportionally to the number of participants in the group. If your group is 20 members you might see your personalized point rate decrease 20 times (so $2.00 yesterday, $2.00 today, then $0.10 for the next month or more even after you stop your participation). I know some here created groups were they can chat together and tell to upvote each other.
Meanwhile, different users were hosting contests, giveaways, sponsorships, were readers and participants upvoted the article, submit entries to the communities and comment the links of entries on the comment section. The user will then give upvotes to winners and participants, who would've thought that this is considered as "upvoting ring".
Is there points for comments?
From RC:
Comments currently are responsible for nearly 50% of points given out daily. Yet 99% of them are useless. We will stop motivating people to create this kind of useless content, so that the only motivation there will be left would be to communicate with author. However, you can still get points for comments via "
After reading the short post of @M3i, I finally realized that the freezing and decreasing of points isn't only about random rewarder and power user upvotes., but it has to do with this matter.
And do you also know why the price per points became cheaper?
The more active the users are, the cheaper the price per points.
The more articles published here everyday, the cheaper the price per points. (1-3 articles per day is enough and it will also cause overloading the system.
ReadCash obviously changed the point system as well and the reason behind this has something to do with spamming, plagiarizing, and upvoting groups.
Those who likes to write will stay, and those who are after the points will leave.
Do you want to get good points again?
As what ReadCash said:
The best way to get points now is to write good useful articles (whether you submit them to any community or not), write helpful comments, write useful short updates and stop concentrating on points.
Frankly, posting an article to Read.Cash community right now you have only 15% chance of getting points. You have a better chance of getting points from the random rewarder even if you don't submit it anywhere.
You can get points even if you post only comments and ignore the communities altogether, but post useful stuff.
By the way, don't go immediately crazy upvoting all the stuff - even if your upvotes were used for giving points - one upvote of an obviously crappy article or comment and you're upvotes are forever ignored.
If ReadCash can experiment the system, we do can it as well. Let's try for one to two weeks:
NO UPVOTING GROUPS
NO CONTEST AND GIVEAWAYS
UPVOTE GOOD ARTICLES NOT BECAUSE IT'S YOUR FRIEND OR GROUPMATE'S ARTICLE
GIVE SPONSORSHIPS TO THOSE WHO DESERVES IT WITHOUT MAKING A CONTEST FOR IT.
There's no harm in trying. If we will all cooperate, we might bring back the system we once had.
...and you will also help the author collect more tips.
This update sad me man😑.
