In this article we will talk a little about the characteristics that a writer must have. But first let's define what a writer is; it is a person who writes or is the author of any kind of documents or written work, meanwhile, this word is used to those individuals who practice writing at a professional level, that is, to those who dedicate their lives to writing written or printed works, which are then edited by themselves or by publishing companies that market them in the corresponding market.

It should be noted, however, that the term is often used in the second sense, that is, applied to the person who writes as a professional rather than to the one who engages in writing as a circumstantial activity. The profession of writer is one of the most valued around the world since time immemorial, no doubt those who are able to write a story enjoy a unique gift that deserves such admiration. Many authors have even reached a high level of popularity because of their book presentations, they are as famous as some actors and musicians.

In the same vein, there are certain characteristics that all those who wish to write must use exactly to achieve the best results. These "types" allow anyone who aspires to be a writer to fulfill conscientiously, so that his work achieves the desired objective.

- The first characteristic of a writer is the search for reliable sources, that is, if it is to write about a subject, whether a character, a fact, a specific place, the writer should focus on getting the most data, always seeking to be totally truthful.

-The second characteristic is conscientious observation, since the writer must be very careful, as if he were looking for answers to a very serious matter.

-Another characteristic is to understand the writer's place and position. The writer should be a faithful example of his thoughts.

- The fourth characteristic would be to plan things with order, an organization shows us the purpose.

In that sense, the writer is a person who uses written words in different styles and techniques to communicate ideas. Writers produce different subjects of literary art and creative writings such as novels, short stories, books, as well as other items that may be of interest to the public. Writers' texts are published in a variety of media, they can use language to express their ideas well, often contributing significantly to the cultural content of a society.

In addition to producing their own written work, they often write about how they write, i.e., the process they use; why they write (their motivation); and they also comment on the work of other writers (critique). They work professionally or unprofessionally, and can be paid in advance or only after the work is published. Payment is only one of the motivations of such writers. In fact, the term writer is often used as a synonym for author, although the latter term has a broader meaning, used to convey a writer's legal responsibility.

To conclude, most writers write alone, mostly, they are engaged in a solitary activity that forces them to struggle with the concepts they are trying to express and at the same time with the best way to express it. This may mean choosing the best genre or genres, as well as choosing the best words. Writers have many reasons for writing, among which are usually combinations of self-expression and records of facts, stories or research results. They influence ideas and society, so there are many cases in which a writer's work or opinion has been unwelcome and controversial.

What characteristic do you identify with as a writer?
