In this opportunity I will talk about imagination, which is a creative process that allows us to manipulate information in order to create a representation perceived by the senses. In relation to the senses of the mind, they are the mechanisms that allow us to see an object that had been previously visualized.
It could be said that there are two types of imagination:
- The reproductive imagination: it is when we recreate images of past events and that is in our mind.
- Creative imagination: It is when we create images by ourselves, this can be positive or negative.
In fact, psychology studies the imagination and the creative processes of the human mind. These abilities are especially valued in the artistic field. But also in other fields since imagination and creative capacity allow us to have new solutions, to bring different points of view and ideas in an innovative way. All human beings have imagination and creativity as it is an innate capacity.
In the same vein, I believe that in order to write, our first tool is imagination. Because just as you need thread, needle and fabric to make a dress, to start writing, you also need tools. "But I'm not very imaginative or creative," you may say. Well, let me inform you that imagination is your most powerful weapon, the best weapon you were ever equipped with.

Literary creation begins in everyone's mind. The role of literature is essential not only because of the works that have influenced today's society, but because fiction fosters the ability to imagine and multiply views of life and is our favorite genre, through the stories that gives a coherent sense with reality, because it brings new knowledge. Reading a novel allows us to imagine another society, other ways of living, whether better or worse. The writer must have certain characteristics, which can be easily imagined, he must have enough imagination. He creates it himself, synthesizes it and submits it to a controlled order to achieve the objectives.
Literature has the right to freedom of imagination and without it a literary work is not conceivable. It is a lie, but a possible lie. And this lie must also convince and move. Imagination allows the writer to seize those elements that reality does not satisfy; it helps him to create diverse situations that can be justified under a good literary text. Literature is like an imitation of reality and the writer there has the possibility of being a playwright, stage director and all the actors.
Imagination plays an important role in writing to be able to create other worlds or to be able to cope with the enormous doses of reality in the world we live in. It offers us the opportunity to modify what surrounds us, to see things as they are not. And best of all, it allows us to create any artistic discipline, to give life to unknown and unthinkable universes, to fictional characters that can become so credible.
In conclusion, it can be said that it is not only the power of literature but also the power of imagination to achieve action. The society that reads a novel emphasizes the role of a writer's imagination in developing new stories that allow the reader to be part of the mental process of those characters. For that reason, novels motivate the reader to reflect and effect his or her own changes.
The art of making the impossible possible is achieved through imagination; without the ability to imagine something, it is difficult to sell an idea.
