In this opportunity we will talk about what is planning within a work proposal in the narrative field. Planning is a decision-making process to achieve a desired future taking into account the current situation, internal and external factors that may influence the achievement of objectives. It ranges from simple to complex, depending on the medium to be planned. The action of planning refers to plans in its different fields.
Basically, planning is the systematic arrangement of tasks to achieve an objective, where it is stated what needs to be done and how it should be carried out. It is composed of those processes that establish the total scope of the effort, define and refer to the objectives. And they develop the course of action required to achieve those objectives. In fact, there is no magic formula for effortless planning, the key is in the desire with which we want to see an idea implemented. Once we are clear about what it means to plan and how we should do it, planning becomes an ally.
In that sense, I believe that to create a novel it is convenient to have a working proposal, that is, we must plan the idea. Develop an approach, the knot and denouement of your idea. If necessary, write the questions and answers you need to clarify your doubts. Also, you can create a card of your characters, since it is good to know the characters before starting the story. You will do well writing cards with their data. Names, character, physique, studies, jobs, friends. The more you know about them, the easier it will be to work with them.
Even work on the beginning. Write the first chapter and try changing the narrator. Different points of view will help you find the best way to write your story. That is why we must plan, because action is what makes an idea a reality, but without planning, our idea may not have the scope we want. Through this process we manage not only to determine the way we do things, but it is also the way in which we clarify our doubts.
On the other hand, it is an excellent way to make sure that you are not writing for yourself, that you are not writing what you think, but that you are writing so that your readers can feel identified, use this question: In what way will it be useful for those who read it? This is because sometimes you can forget this point and lose the effectiveness of what you write. Also, it is very important that you define a style of writing, because people will start to identify with the style you propose.
Maybe you don't succeed the first time you do it. That's okay. But then you will see that over time there is a style that comes out of you naturally and wants to come out. Don't fight it, shape it and let it be. Maybe it's the words you use, the way you separate concepts or why not, the ideas you share. It may be a particular style of writing or saying things. Take the time to discover how you want to share your ideas. Indeed, there are many approaches that can help you organize your writing ideas, the trick is to choose one that fits not only with the way you write, but also with what you plan to convey.
To conclude, I will mention some key points to better organize our ideas in the writing process. The steps we must take into account are pre-writing, revision, editing and publication. This applies to different narrative texts such as novels, short stories, among others.
Pre-writing allows us to achieve a previous process in which, as a minimum, we consider what we want to write. Therefore, it includes the whole process prior to writing the first draft of the text. Each writer is different and has to organize himself as he sees fit. There are those who need an exhaustive planning of everything they write and there are those who are satisfied with a brief outline.
