My March earnings, thank you everyone! Hello! Hope everyone is doing well on April Fool's Day. Are you planning to prank everyone? Are you going to announce that you are pregnant? It is actually the most common prank during April Fool's lols. I used to do it and because I am a silent type of person, most of my friends believed me. And then the joke was on me, I became pregnant, for real. I did think of making a prank but I might manifest it discarded the idea. And I came up with a "Thank you" article for today. My total earnings from March 2, 2022, to March 31, 2022, are $25.04 I apologize if I cannot show you the breakdown as to which article earned the most and the least because I am in a hurry but please do know that I appreciate all the upvotes and tips that you gave me. I actually did not expect that I will reach **25** dollars because I only withdrew 12.50. This means that half of my earnings were spent on tips. Based on this experience I learned that: I should spend my tips wisely, not that everyone does not deserve to be tipped. I need to budget them because I am not earning that much. There came a time that I have 0 in my balance because I gave it all away. Forgive me, I am a mother and I should save some for my personal expenses. I can still support the community by reading the articles and commenting on them if I cannot tip anymore and I believe that you'd understand. It's a symbiosis kind of relationship that we are trying to build here, but I know you'd be okay with not receiving tips from me all the time. I must evaluate which types of articles are helpful and with value based on RR's visit and make that my reference to create better articles. I wanna try to understand the algorithm but I don't wanna stress myself a lot. Thank you! I just wanna say "Thank you" very much to my beautiful sponsors and sisters at heart! Girl power, yeah! I am happy that you stayed with me despite what happened to my old account. I gained new friends here and I am happy that I am still connected with my old friends. You are the reason why I don't wanna leave this platform. Dear cousin or sibling, whatever, **Luci @Lucifer01** thank you for staying with me and for pushing me. I can't imagine what could have happened to me if not for your support. To sir @Unity who was the very first to "onboard" HermaniGinger, thank you. Do know that I look up to you. To read.cash community and the developers and the contributors- who am I to be supported by you? But still, you accepted me here and you gave me a spot to prove to myself that I deserve to earn some BCH. It really was a life-changing experience to discover this amazing platform along with the kind and beautiful souls that make this site alive. Bless you, for your generous hearts. And I hope this project will last forever. (I am sorry if I cannot make this post longer because my arm is already complaining.) If I forgot to thank someone- please do not be offended. Do know that I am thankful and grateful that we are on the same platform. And that the relationship that we have is beyond this virtual world. If I am your friend, I can be your friend for life. Being in read.cash always inspires me, makes me smile, makes me happy. The stories, articles, and columns that I've read pushed me to become better. I have learned, unlearned, and relearned. If ever I am gonna have a job sooner or later, I will still stay here and share my experiences with you guys. I am also going to reach out personally if I have to just to keep the communication going. Thank you, thank you, thank you! *P.S. And I am sorry for missing a lot of your articles, I have been so busy and I cannot keep up because it's so hot in the Philippines lol.* `All content is mine. I've never been in love for such a long time ❤️ I am enchanted! **Hello po sa inyo!** My two kids are playing while I am writing this blog. They were not able to sleep because it was too hot despite the 2 electric fans in number 3 again. Saoirse is trying her best to talk but most of her words are gibberish. Her favorite phrase is "Oh, no!"... Anyways, while I am busy most of the time, I do have a "me" time when these two are already asleep. It's usually like 12:00 AM or 11:00 PM depending on when I am able to put Saoirse to bed. I only have an hour or 2 to do everything, including reading, commenting, and upvoting here. I am so knackered already, I've never been this tired mygas abelgas. So I gotta do things fast, yeah sorry folks if I don't stay here for too long the past few days. Commercial break! THANK YOU VERY MUCH TO MY SPONSORS AND MY 40 SUBSCRIBERS! Talking about "me" time, I either check my email and search for potential employers or watch Netflix. When it comes to movies and series, I prefer action/thriller, Sci-Fi/adventure, and fantasy. And I always look for that "special feels" every time I watch something so I tried "The Adventures of Merlin". I've always been a fan of British fantasy films maybe because those were the kinds of movies we watched when I was a kid. **When I started watching Merlin, it was just an ordinary series for me**. It's a story of a **young lad who just figured out he has magic** and his mom has to send him somewhere else so he could find the purpose of his magic. **So he went to Camelot and lived with his teacher Gaius who is the palace physician**. There he **met the arrogant Prince Arthur, the ward of the king, Lady Morgana, and the maid, Gwen or Guinevere**. He had lots of adventures with Prince Arthur and everyone thought that Merlin has psychological issues. No one understands that he is just trying to hide his powers. Only Gaius and the dragon knew what Merlin can do in the kingdom aside from his best friend. The series became interesting in **"The Once and Future Queen" episode**. It's when Arthur "left" the palace and joined a challenge as a knight from a different kingdom. It was also the time when King Odin sent an assassin to kill Arthur because Arthur killed his son in a combat. So **Prince Arthur had to live in Gwen's house, their servant.** There was a confrontation be**tween the two of them where Gwen said that he is arrogant**. He did not even say thank you to her for letting him stay in the house and she said that it is not bad to show humility from time to time. Arthur was surprised to hear such revelation from Gwen and he appreciated it. That episode was special. Gwen looked so different. I don't know, maybe, they used facial moisture or BB cream to her face but there was a glow on her face. I didn't expect that I would feel so giddy like a teenager when **I saw them kiss for the very first time! It happened before Arthur faced his final opponent which turned out to be the assassin**. After that, Arthur softened, became kinder, became humble. Maybe he was just afraid to show his "good side" because he is a prince. **I like it when Arthur didn't really see how special Gwen was before but that moment they talked, he was the different side of her.** Gwen is hardworking, kind, generous, and she is straight forward- she possesses the good qualities of a queen. And Arthur, being the future king needs someone like her. She was even fearless- she fought with Lady Morgana when Merlin's home was invaded. At first, I wasn't interested with Gwen but I "cheated" by reading Merlin's story and learned that Arthur's love is Gwen. I am in love. I've never had this kind of fascination and obsession towards a couple for such a long time. I feel so alive again! I am inspired by their love story. **And in the episode "Lancelot and Guinevere", Gwen replaced Lady Morgana as the captive because Morgana escaped**. **Gwen was rescued by Lancelot**, a lad who wanted to become a knight but left Camelot because he was not from a noble family. **He was Gwen's first love interest.** Lancelot loves her so much. **Arthur decided to get Gwen** as well and brought Merlin with him. He was sleepless and worried about her. **Merlin knew his feelings towards her but Arthur wanted to keep it a secret because his father would not approve of their relationship.** It was a successful mission. **Lancelot learned about Arthur's feelings so he left Gwen because he didn't want to come in between.** That's what love is- Lancelot was willing to sacrifice even his own happiness and be hurt so Gwen could have a better future. What a selfless love. And for that, I admired Lancelot. If you are curious about Gwen and Arthur, here are their sweet moments: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmQHueqE9xo *Credits to Youtube by* *IloveherTjes* https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kmQHueqE9xo I am not yet done watching the whole series and I hope I will finish it, whether or not these two are gonna have a "happily ever after" or not. I like the series overall, but I like it more because of these two characters. They came from different worlds and yet, they fell in love. Despite the challenges that they'll go through, I am pretty sure they will face them together. **"We don't need spells, enchantments, and potions for love. Love, itself, is enough."- HermaniGinger** **Let me know if you watched the clip. And if you are disappointed, in love or giddy like me, let me know by leaving a comment below.** Thank you very much for your time. `The lead image was from Unsplash.com. The witch turned into a hunter! **“Not all those who wander are lost.”-** ***Anonymous*** Wanderers love to explore their environment, it doesn't matter where they are going and for how long they're gonna be out in the wild because they are looking for that adventure that could stir their souls. The excitement of the unknown and the anticipation of what could happen makes wandering even more desirable. I have been wondering and wandering the past few days. I am a mom and I am trying my best to make ends meet while my partner is looking for a job. So I have decided, that, instead of learning the incantation Merlin and the Priestess of the Old Religion in the series are doing, I decided to become a hunter! Yes, dearies, your witch is now a hunter. I am still practicing how to aim my arrow perfectly to hit the bull's eye. Don't stand in the way if you don't want to get bloody. I am pretty sure you're curious about what I am hunting. Am I hunting for a deer, a bear, a vampire, or a witch like myself? No, no...I hunt for: Affordable or discounted stuff for babies like baby soap The babies in the house are using a hypoallergenic baby soap but still, my baby's itching from to time. Despite the natural ingredients stated on the label, I am doubtful that its ingredients are gentle enough for Saoirse's skin. And that soap has run out, I don't want to use the soap that Saoirse's cousin is using because it might reach until Friday, the grocery day. **Oh, before we continue this story, can we have an intermission number first? Okie okie okie..** **What do you call the Voodoo in Shopee?** Answer: **Voo dool** 😂 **What do you call the Voodoo of Bong Revilla?** Answer: **Voo doots** 😂 Wewewewe....😂😂😂😂 **Let's continue...** So I installed Shopee using my Gmail account. I thought I could get a good offer but they kept on refusing to give me a gift lol. My Gmail wasn't used before so I am tagged as a new user but I gave up. There won't be a freebie for me lol. I installed Lazada app instead and guess what? It's Lazada's 10th birthday! They have a lot of goodies and freebies so I went to search for the soap that I wanted. I got an authentic Oilatum baby soap for less than PHP150 and I was so happy! I got free shipping plus some pesos off the total price. *This pic was taken from my Lazada account* The witch had a good hunt! All mommies can totally relate to finding, searching, hunting for the best buys for their kids. The more we can save, the better but of course, we do not risk the quality of the items that we buy. I mean, we want discounted products most of the time. We love free vouchers, free shipping, etc! And I will continue hunting especially when the BCH goes up, not only in Lazada but in Shopee as well. Job or future employment My baby is turning 2 years old soon and my partner has no job yet so I told him that I will also look for employment. Whoever finds one will support the other one or we will work both- we will figure it out! I like it when we don't know what to do yet and I am glad that he's starting to let things happen, unfold rather than overthink them. But dear, oh dear I am so tired before the end of the day. I cannot keep up with the energy of these two kiddos. I do think I need to exercise more so I can more stamina. How can I work if I am already knackered in the evening? Goodness me. Shall I drink a magic potion? Or I think it's better if I "Hadouken" and split myself into two. It would be nice, one takes care of the babies while one works. Oh, I got so tired tonight. I found an FTW Scholarship by Accenture so I tried my luck. I had assessments on Math, Programming or Coding, and Database. I have given the wrong email address in the assessment, I am not sure what's gonna happen next. *Picture taken from my Yahoo inbox* Lol, it has been so long since I had a formal lesson in Math and Computer Science subjects. I did my best, whether I will pass or not, I am still proud of myself for taking the risk. If I pass, I couldn't be prouder. FTW means Future for The Women. And they were timed assessments so. Wish me luck. Airdrops! I have joined airdrops before and do I check my tokens from time to time. I am only waiting for the values to go up with my CNY token in Coinsbit and I will try to withdraw them. I also have some MPH in my Morpher account which I got from an airdrop and I have an Ecoin account as well. I occasionally log in to see if I could be eligible for some airdrops. I want to join in smartBCH airdrops but I am not so happy using Telegram and Discord because Telegram people keep on adding me to some groups without my permission and I think Discord is too complicated for me. I am okay with Twitter. Maybe soon when I have a little free time, I will hunt more airdrops in the BCH and smartBCH metaverse. Closing thoughts Did you think that I hunt wild animals? No, my friends. I will hunt for good deals, vouchers, discount coupons, and codes for my babies. I love shopping for them- not gonna use spells and enchantments to bewitch the sellers to give me freebies. I'm gonna do it as humanly possible. And with the job hunting, I am now confused about whether to pursue my Customer Service Virtual Assistant post or look for scholarships in Information Technology so I could finally use the knowledge in Computer Science. What do you think? I will also research more eligible airdrops on the Internet and join the pre-sale if ever. How about you, what have you been hunting these days? Did you succeed? Please share your experience by commenting below and let's talk about it! P.S. When I am finishing this article, my eldest is being punished. She is in front of me on bended knees holding her ears saying, "I promise to think before I act". She has been so naughty the past few days that stress us out. She's just 8 years old and we want to straighten her attitude before things get worst. What creative discipline can we do so she'll remember not to do bad things again and become more responsible? I value your input, my dear friends. Appreciate all your support. Thank you very much. `Author's Note: All original content unless stated otherwise. 7 ways to make your in-laws extremely mad **People would say that if they knew first-hand how hard it is to be married and to have "monster" in-laws, they wouldn't consider marrying.** So for those who have good in-laws, "IKAW NA, SANAOL!"...Not that I am not lucky with my in-laws-to-be, in fact, I am. I am happy that **my mother-in-law was hands-on with my daughter when I gave birth and that my father-in-law supported us physically, as our driver, and financially when my partner stopped working.** I do hear stories about couples who got separated because of their in-laws and it's sad to think about it. I know they have their reasons. For me, if a child marries, then all a parent could do is support and respect their child's decision- not intervene and break them apart. Except when the daughter or son-in-law is not psychologically fit to be a partner, dad, or mom, or if she or he endangers the family-that is a totally different story. **To the good in-laws, thank you very much for letting us love your sons and daughters, for accepting us to become a part of your family.** **If you've just lived with your partner and your in-laws or just got newly married,** you'll probably be in the dark or have clues about what to do, how to deal with them, etc. And **if you're looking for tips on how to make them extremely mad, these are for you:** *Look for a black candle, and go to the church every Friday and light it up and pray for them.* **NO!** That was a little witchy thingy. Here it is: Maintain the cleanliness of the house *License-free from Unsplash* Most of the mothers-in-law I've met want a woman who knows how to clean the house, not someone who leaves her mess everywhere and thinks she has a maid. The mother-in-law needs to be assured that you can take care of his son, so learn how to clean properly, especially the bathroom and your bedroom. Do household chores *License-free from Unsplash* Of course, they need someone who can help them wash the dishes, or sweep the floor. If you don't know any household chores, it's time for you to watch YouTube or read on the Internet. You are no longer in your house- learn to adapt. If you can't be of any help, at least, wash your own clothes, especially your underwear. Learn how to cook *License-free from Unsplash* You don't want their son or daughter to starve to death or else, your mother-in-law will live with you. Learn from your best friend on YouTube, or ask Gordon Ramsey or Nigella how to become the best chef in your house otherwise, you will have a nightmare when you see your mother-in-law's luggage on your doorsteps. On my part, my in-law doesn't want someone to conquest her kitchen so I let her be. She cooks for everyone so I am an exemption from the rule...Char...I would love to learn cooking if I only have my own kitchen. Make sure your kids are healthy and clean *License-free from Unsplash* If you already have kids, just see to it that they are neat and clean. Kids play and stuff, they get dirty from time to time but check their ears and nails to see if they needed cleaning and trimming. Also, ensure your kids drink their vitamins and eat their food and snacks. You'll hear a lot from your mother-in-law's "machine gun" mouth if she sees you "neglecting" her beloved grandkids. Know your in-law's food weaknesses and treat them sometimes *License-free from Unsplash* Gifts or treats don't have to be expensive. For example, she loves Cadbury Fruits and Nuts. Why not buy her one if you have some extra money? How about your father-in-law, does he like Empi Lights or Cornick? Give him "pasalubong" when you're from the mall. Those simple gestures will remind them that you also treasure them. Use your intuition, do not be "manhid" or apathetic When your mother-in-law keeps on talking about something like "mahal ng tubig"/ the water bills are too high, the electric bills are due, etc. and you are not giving any share to the household expenses, do your part. Don't wait for them to get mad at you. Do this if you are working of course. If you live with them, be responsible and give a part of your earnings. Be respectful, be wise, know when to talk You will not live in harmony with them forever with them and there will be times that your relationship will be tested. If you're right, just assert your point but don't force it on them. Most oldies are kind of proud, they won't accept your explanation even if you're right because it will hurt their pride. This is true, most of the time but you are lucky if your in-laws are open-minded people. Still, just be respectful and be humble. Even if you're mad, know when to talk and to keep silent. Believe me, it will save you from further trouble. Let the situation cool down before you attempt to make amends. If you win the lotto or sweepstakes, give them 1M or any amount you like *License-free from Unsplash* They will definitely be extremely happy because you make their dreams come true or you will help them resolve a financial problem. You will be the apple of their eyes forever. This is just a joke :) But if you do win, why not share your blessings with them? Closing thoughts It is not easy to live with the in-laws or deal with them, especially if the mother-in-law or father-in-law or both, has an attitude. It will take some time for you to adjust, just be with yourself and treat your partner with respect and love, they will eventually fully accept you as a part of their family. **The title above is actually a positive one- you doing things that will make the in-laws extremely mad with positivity!** Do you want to add more tips on how to make the in-laws extremely mad with happiness or gratefulness for having you in their lives? Share your comments and let us talk about them! Before I end this article, I just wanna share with you guys, that **Lifepoints is legit**! If I only knew that they are legit, I should have registered a looong time ago. All you got to do is answer surveys and engage in the community for other perks. The surveys don't come every day but it's okay, sometimes they arrive frequently as well. You only need 100 points to redeem and you will be given choices for redemption. I chose 220 life points worth PHP200 Gcash. Not bad right? They said I will receive it within 5-10 business days, I think I received it on the 4th day. Just so happy having extra money by answering surveys for a few minutes. `Thanks for your time. And please be advised, that everything you've read is for entertainment purposes only, published exclusively for read.cash. You've been warned :)` `All images were from Unsplash.com, except for the last image taken from my Gmail inbox.` Maraming salamat po sa pagsubaybay at pagtangkilik. ©HermaniGinger `March 28, 2022`

When karma strikes or reminds- the witch is not happy **Hewow!** This is what usually my Saoirse says whenever she talks to her "virtual boyfriend" as her ate calls it, so **Hewow**, everyone! You might be curious about my topic for today. First of all, this is not going to be a rant but just something **I want to share about how life surprisingly teaches us in every aspect of our lives.** **I think a few of you guys here know that I live with my in-laws and that includes my sister-in-law and her family.** My partner usually does some of the chores aside from my mother-in-law and the rest of my little family usually go after "their mess" when they are already done for the day. I mean picking up the toys or other things they leave behind. **We acknowledge that the sis-in-law works for all of us and we gotta help.** But **I do feel annoyed sometimes when little blocks are left all over the place because** my **Saoirse** runs around and there were times that she **almost hurt herself**. **They didn't realize how careless they were** **until their own kid almost stumbled because of a block**. **Perhaps life is teaching them to be responsible** and not depend on the people around them because we won't be here all the time. **They need a little "growing up"**. Was it karma? Maybe, but not the full-throttle kind of karma but a teeny tiny reminder. I know you will tell me, "Mahirap makisama, tiis-tiis lang", I understand and I will try to be more patient and be humble. I just couldn't help being stressed out sometimes or frequently, or most of the time lol. Pasensya na po. Another thing I wanna discuss is **karma hit full-speed this time**. **I mentioned** in a post, which I unpublished, **in my previous account that RR didn't visit me anymore** because I might have been punished **due to sponsoring groups of people that might be upvoting each other under one IP address.** I stalked one of those accounts and I noticed that that account was already tagged as sp@m...**Should I be happy?** I don't know what to feel, actually. At first, **when I realized my mistake, I was furious** because I worked so hard to build myself up. **You know it's not easy to think of topics every day**. **I composed great poems in my original account, short stories- especially the Swanta Ed** one, which I won in a challenge last December. **Then I lost some of my subscribers, my sponsors, etc**. And now, here I am trying to bounce back because someone stole "my dreams". It hit me freaking so badly because this is my bread and butter. But then, **karma does not sleep**. It boomeranged to "him". **I am not happy because he will be sad too and maybe he does need some BCH**. I just hope he or they will learn the lesson of not "shortcutting" success. **If ever they have found out the "shortcut", I hope they won't bring other people down.** Peace yo! I wish you all the best. **It really is true, that whatever you do, it will always return to you in a thousandfold, it echoes eternally as well**. So please let us be responsible, be conscious of our surroundings, and be kind to one another. Also, **let us choose our battles wisely, not all battles need to be won or worth fighting for**. The perfect time will come and justice will be served perfectly even if we didn't do anything. Karma is aware so let us let it do its job. **Maybe I have been "karmaed" too.** Sorry for making the term up. I feel like I have been proud or conceited since I've been earning here. I realized that I was unconsciously, badly influenced by not-so-good friends and my mentality has changed. **It may have been a reminder for me (when RR didn't give me tips anymore) to remain humble and whatever success I am having is not solely because of myself.** Sigh, how big is my head na ba? It's time for me to reboot, to unlearn, to renew, and revive myself, to be always be grounded. **This is how difficult being an empath is, empaths tend to absorb other people's emotions and sometimes attitudes.** We become confused if we're behaving because of our own feelings or others' feelings. Witch is witch? I mean which is which? I am not defending myself, **I am taking ownership of my fault and I am willing to change too.** I actually don't know what to say in the closing thoughts except, I hope you all learned from me as well. I know I should be humble and deal with other people better, to try to be more understanding and patient because I am not better than anyone else. Do you have an extended family? Did you encounter issues the same as mine? What humbling experience did you have recently, can you share it with me and the rest of the readers? I would appreciate it if you leave a comment below. Hayskul Layp kay saya: Never have I Ever School Edition (3) Is it hot, or is it just me? It's just so pretty hot that all our fans are turned on at number 3. It did rain today, or shall I say, drizzled but it wasn't enough. How are you all faring? I hope you're all having a great weekend. **Before I go on my article for today, I just wanna thank my 37 subscribers and my sponsors**. I've been here for more than a month in my new account and I am happy to see the growth of my following. Although **I missed the people in my original account, I know they are just here- thank you very much my old 153 subscribers and sponsors for all your kindness.** I have been demotivated to write for the past few days maybe because of physical and psychological reasons. Physical due to a sprain in my arm and the tiredness of taking care of a toddler and psychological, because of this deep-seated sadness. But I don't wanna dwell on my feelings, life is too short to enjoy. Anyways, there's this prompt initiated by @kingofreview Never Have I Ever: School Edition (3) which sounded so fun so I invited myself. I hope it's okay to participate, sir. I actually wanna thank sis @Usagi for writing about it, because of you, I wouldn't know about this prompt until I read your article. https://read.cash/@kingofreview/never-have-i-ever-school-edition-3-064b4235 I wanna share this picture that I took from the prompt, listing them one by one may take too long so I snipped it. Credits to this guy @SADAFZARRAR as the main source. Hayskul Layp or High School life is probably one of the most enjoyable years of a teenager because it's the time when one spends most of his or her time at school. There are challenges in studies, peers, crushes, or romantic relationships. When I was in my first year, I transferred from Regional Science High School Science Curriculum Iligan City to Sacred Heart School in Calamba, Misamis Occidental. I left my childhood friends in Iligan. But I did have a great time staying in Calamba because the school was great and I also gained good friends that are still my friends until now. Sacred Heart School was a private, Catholic school. It has a good standard of teaching and I am proud that I studied there. I transferred back to Iligan City during my second year in high school because I decided to live with my mama. And I enrolled in Iligan City National School of Fisheries. I still remember the chubby me and the feeling when I was introduced to the class, especially the top students. I wish I could go back to high school. Before I get lost in my daydreams, I shall start answering the challenge: Never Have I Ever: **Skipped a class** Your life would be boring if you haven't experienced this. I skipped a class with the whole class! It was a mixture of excitement and guilt! I couldn't remember anymore what we did why we skipped class but I believe we had fun. We were all guilty and punished. **Cheated on an exam** We did try to cheat with the whole class again with the lead of our top 1, can you believe it? I forgot the subject but it was a difficult one- everyone was asking what the answer was so our potential valedictorian opened the book and searched for the answer. I didn't want to get involved further so I answered the exam based on my understanding. I think I passed so did the rest of the class. **~~Forged my parent's signature~~** I didn't do this because I never had the reason to. But I did try to imitate Ferdinand Marcos and Fidel Ramos's signatures (Kaloka, taas ng pangarap eh), yes, they were the former presidents of the Philippines and I learned their signatures in the long run. I didn't do anything with them, promise. **~~Bullied anyone at school~~** Nope, I never bullied any single soul at school. But do you know that I was a bully when I was 7 years old? I remember pointing an umbrella to my classmate's stomach. She cried and said that her older brother will see me after school. I went home early and avoided them. **~~Been suspended from school~~** Despite skipping a class, I was never suspended. I was a law-abiding student and I was afraid to be reprimanded. **~~Been in the bottom three of the class~~** I was always a top student so I have never been in the bottom three of the class. But I did get a low grade in Math when I was in my second year in high school and got a final grade of 78 disqualifying me from being a salutatorian. The top students were only called based on the number of awards but there was no official announcement on who was the valedictorian, salutatorian, etc. **Hit someone with chalk** This was one of the top games in the class. Did I hit someone in the class? I am pretty sure I do but just couldn't remember anymore who was it. I think I am having memory loss. **Make fake excuses for being late** I did and this happened during our final days before graduation. We didn't have any computers and I was too proud to ask for help from our second honor so I went to my relative in Kiwalan to ask for help. It just so happens that my aunt was so busy and I didn't really know how to encode my project. It was defense day and I was absent- I lied that my papa and my uncle fought and it was so bad that I had to skip a day in school. **Had a crush on someone in my class** That was the silliest and most embarrassing thing in my high school life. I was a chubby, transferee girl who had a crush on our cute top 1 in the second year. I wanted his attention so badly that I covered my close friend's dedication on her back picture (Rhizza gave her picture when she was in Libya to me as a remembrance when I transferred to Iligan. She was my classmate in Sacred Heart) with my cursive handwriting. I pretended to be my cousin from the USA who wrote to my classmate, Al (not his real name). I gave it to him and he said, "This is your penmanship, do you have a crush on me?". I was denied to death. I was so embarrassed but I stood my ground lol. I really wanted the ground to swallow me whole that moment. **~~Played in a sports team~~** I was an athlete when I was in grade 6 in elementary but never in high school because I was too chubby. We might have an earthquake if I run or jump. **~~Been the monitor or prefect~~** I don't want to become my class' enemy so I try to avoid being the prefect. Plus, it's tiring to count how many violations my classmates commit. Do you remember that "English Only Policy?" where you got to count the vernacular your classmates utter? How many of them are talking? Or list those who were noisy and then they give you that lethal stare and whisper, "See you after class"? My gosh. **Skipped school to do something fun** I never wanted to skip school to do something fun if I am gonna do it alone. It should be "damay damay na" or everyone in the class so the punishment will be equally distributed or divided lol. I did it, with my classmates. **Had a serious injury at school** I was always careful when I was studying so I am lucky that I never had any serious injury. But I got sick at school. It was when we had our PMT or Private Military Training and we were blindfolded. I drank water from the fishpond. I had a stomach ache when I got home and had amoebiasis. Good thing I was treated right away. **Hit someone hard** I slapped my classmate's face when he laughed during our "formation", or PMT formation every Friday afternoon. I was a strict officer and I wanted them to follow the rules. The bad thing was he was my crush. **~~Stack a funny note on someone's back~~** I didn't experience doing this to someone because I didn't wanna be pranked as well. **~~Impressed someone who dislike me~~** There was a teacher who didn't seem to like me because I suspected that he was "gay" and his close friend was my teacher and we were always seen together. Maygas, that teacher was like a father to me but I see his malicious smile. I didn't mind it too much but I never persuaded him to change his mind. **~~Acted cool to get attention~~** I won't act cool to get someone's attention- I will act like crazy lol. Or I will either recite in the class more frequently or perfect the exam. **~~Stolen someone's lunch~~** I will only try this with someone very close to me but not with everybody. Having nothing to eat is not cool for me and I respect everyone's food. **~~Taken part in the school play~~** I am not a good actress so acting in a play is a no-no for me. But I write so leave the story or the script to me. I remember when we were in the fourth year, our final exam was either a drama or monologue. I was so overacting, I didn't know what I was saying in my drama lol. Good thing I still passed the subject. **~~Won in sports~~** No sports for me in high school, remember? Just academic contests. **Gone on a field trip** I was able to join our field trip when I was in my fourth year because I won the investigatory project and as a prize, my teacher paid for the trip. My mother won't have any extra to spare it. I was lucky that I won and my teacher was generous enough to let me experience that. Thanks, Ma'am Gomez. It was a field trip in Cagayan de Oro- we went to Coca-Cola, Malasag, and Lim Ketkai. It was the first time that I experienced a comfort room with an automatic flush lol. **Had a water fight** Yeah, super fun! We had our class swimming when I was in my second year in one of the private resorts in our area. It was fun but not when the water hits your eyes. **~~Threw ink at someone~~** I will never do that because the ink is so hard to remove especially when it stains a white shirt! **Sent a love note** I sent a love note to my boyfriend during my third-year of high school because we had a fight. I could still remember the fragrance of the stationary and how nice my ex's penmanship was. And would you believe that our "bridge" was our P.E teacher? She liked us as a couple so I sent the letter to him through Ma'am P. Wrapping up My high school life has always been unforgettable. If only I could turn back time, I'd still do the same things except one- that 78 grade in Math. I would study harder because I was so afraid to disappoint my mama with that grade. I wanna thank, once again, the person behind this prompt because you made it easier for us to write something and share our wonderful and unforgettable experiences in high school. A day of revelation...the witch was nervous 😰 **"The truth may hurt for a while, but a lie hurts forever"**- *Truth & Lie quotes via Gecko & Fly.* Do you believe in the quote above, my friends? Answer me honestly, otherwise, I'm gonna turn you into a frog. And you won't return to your normal self unless someone who loves you truly will kiss you 🧙♀️ **My life is not a secret that I've been a single mom**, technically, I am still a single mom because I am not married yet, just in a domestic relationship. **And I promised myself that I will not keep anything to my eldest daughter since the day I got pregnant. I will tell her the truth and I will leave everything to her** if she wants to get to know more about the "sperm donor". **It's the topic of my article today** because the other day while my partner and I were feeding our youngest, Saoirse, I smelled paint and I was complaining how bad the smell was because I have allergic rhinitis. **After a few hours, my partner's sister was furious because someone polished her artificial nails, her bracelet, the shell stone, and some other stuff.** We called Bam to ask her if she did it and she said, "No". **One of the powers mothers have is they know it when their kids lie or not and I sensed that my daughter was lying**. My partner said that he will need Bam's help to figure out who did it. And so we started talking about our strategies on how we know the truth. **I was telling her a lot of stuff until I realized my chance of instilling holy fear in her** so I reminded her that God knows the content of our minds and heart and whatever we do, bad or good, will be written in the book of life. She has to choose whether she wants to end up in heaven someday or in hell. I described the hell to her- I hope that she will remember what I said so she will be more honest next time. But she pretended like nothing happened after that and I told her, "Please don't pretend that nothing is happening, you have a fault and you have to face the consequences". **She kept on doing the same behavior until I hit home when I said**, **"If you want mommy to be more attentive and caring, please behave and listen".** She stopped being naughty and went to her bed. **My partner and I were really running out of options so I decided to tell her about my past.** It all started with a simple story about my love life and I was surprised because she told me about relationships based on what she watched in Youtube Kids. **She even said, "Mommy, you're not the only one who knows about life"**. Wow, ha. She actually revealed, "Two people should get to know each other first before becoming boyfriend-girlfriend". Despite our misunderstanding sometimes, **I am glad that I got her trust**, she tells me everything and I pray it will remain that way. **I didn't ask her if she remembers her biological dad yet.** I narrated how smart I was when I was in elementary until college and I received numerous awards and I had a bright future waiting for me. But **I met someone at work, fell in love, and became a single mom. I explained why we didn't end up together because of my ex's bad attitude**. It was the truth. He was a liar, a cheater, a pretender. **I told her I made a mistake and my grandma, who helped me finish college, was disappointed**. Because I was at fault, **I swallowed my pride and asked for forgiveness**. I was advised to get rid of my baby but I know it was wrong so I had to take responsibility. It was a difficult decision, I have a bright future ahead of me but I gave it up. My grandma and I stopped talking since then. But I remained humble because everything was my fault. **I told her that all I wanted for her is to grow up responsible, honest, kind, and thankful**. If she's gonna excel in school the way I did or more than that, I'd be happy. I didn't have the chance to ask her if she knows I am talking about her biological dad because Saoirse knocked on the door and demanded a mommy time so I went out and took care of her. My partner replaced me and continued what I started. **While I was with my daughter, they had a talk about everything including the truth that Jas wasn't Bam's biological dad. But he assured her that despite that, he is her real father because he raised her.** *(I don't know why I cannot add a caption to photos anymore but just wanna share a pic of Bam and her dudie. This was taken during her 5th birthday. (Pic was from my Facebook album)).* I asked my daughter how she is feeling, she said, "I was kind of disappointed at first", and then we continued talking about my past. **She wanted to see him so I opened my Facebook account and checked if there were still pictures that included him.** To my dismay, I still got tagged photos with that mor*n. I shall remove them all tomorrow or whenever I can. **She saw him, she didn't sound interested in him after that**. I just told my daughter how lucky she was being with her dudie and everyone. **I also advised that it is not good for us to get in touch with him because I don't like trouble**- we are already living peacefully and I am happy with our situation. My daughter understood. **I am open to her, I will not keep any secrets because I know she will be hurt for a while but she will eventually get over with it**. I will give her moral and emotional support in any way I can. I just want to teach her that despite not being related by blood with everyone in the house except Saoirse and me, she's still loved that's why we want her to grow up responsible, knowing what's right and what's wrong. **I do hope that this will give her the push to ask for forgiveness and won't do it anymore.** **Oh, before I forget, I did punish Bam. I let her kneel down on a spoonful of salt with her arm straight forward with a notebook on them.** It was so hot, despite having the fan on, **she almost collapsed because of the pain**. Good thing I had a glass of water, let her drink it until she felt better. **I explained to her that I love her very much, I would lay my life for her if she does the right thing** but I won't cover her up if she lies and does something bad. **It has been a long week for me- full of dramas and revelations. Our relationships were tested, I do hope they will get better. I felt like I was being liberated, something heavy was pulled out and I felt a lot lighter.** I think my daughter felt it too. And I am hoping for positive changes in the next few days. Because of the incident, Saoirse and I also go to the bedroom earlier than before so we could bond. Just like tonight, while Saoirse was busy ransacking our cabinet, Bam was waxing my legs. We were also supposed to read a book and she will massage me but it was already late for those. I promised her that we will do it tomorrow. Your witch her was nervous but I am glad that everything turned out pretty well. **Telling the truth, admitting mistakes, and being humble in asking for forgiveness are challenging but why would not we do the right thing because we are afraid or egoistic? I know my daughter is too young for such complications but she has to learn one way or the other. I told her that she doesn't have to experience all the hardships I've gone through to understand life because I am here to guide her.** *Before I end my article, I just wanna thank you for all of your support. I just got my first achievement and I am so honored and humbled to have reached this milestone.* Thank you for reading this far and if you like my story, please comment, like, and subscribe 🔔 **Author's note**: All content is original unless stated otherwise. Hilot sa piang- accupressure on sprain by manghihilot...Why it matters to Bisaya people I already mentioned before that I got a little accident in the bathroom and instead of my head, I used my arm to protect myself from the fall. Thank God, despite the pain I am still alive. **Oh hello, sorry for not saying my routinary greetings, my dears. Just your witch here trying to speak her mind after a few days of absence. How are you dealing with the heat? Would you like me to cast a spell for the sky to shed a tear?** **We- Bisaya people usually do not go to the doctor whenever we have "piang" or sprain or displaced joints.** We usually go to the "manghihilot" or quack massage therapist first. Just like a quack doctor "albularyo" or faith healer who practices magic and enchantment to heal a person, a "**manghihilot**" is usually not a professional person who studied about injuries and stuff but can cure sprains miraculously. **They are our first aid- our first resort whenever we have accidents.** Of course, we know it when it's a major thing and a patient needs to be hospitalized. **Piang**- it means sprain or joint displacement Just a throwback. When we were practicing our steps during cheer dance, I accidentally took the wrong turn thus spraining my ankle. It was so painful that I couldn't walk hence my teammate carried me towards the chair. We had to go see a "manghihilot", he checked my ankle, applied some oil, and just twist carefully. The pain in the ankle stopped and I could walk again! I didn't pay that much, just 20 pesos I think. If it were in a clinic, I got to pay the doctor's fee, buy a pain reliever, and worst, I might be advised to have an X-ray. Thank you Uncle Hilot for helping me! Now, going back to my accident. I still have this "piang". I rested it for a few weeks but since I have a baby, I need to carry her and all that stuff. The effort exerted sprained the affected area again and it got swollen. It was really painful that I cried- not only because of the pain but also because of self-pity that I cannot afford to pay for a "hilot" to heal me. Thankfully, my sister came to the rescue and gave me something for the hilot. It's just so hard to find one here in Manila because they are "scarce". Of course, you can go to the massage clinic but I am not sure if they can really heal the "piang". They will advise me, definitely, to go to a physical therapist. Before I forget, do you know that there are different types of "manghihilot"? **Hilot for women who just gave birth** When a woman gives birth, it is believed that all her veins "loosened" due to labor and stress and the hilot needs to massage her to put back all those loose veins together. If not, she will easily have "binat" or overfatigue. I have a personal experience regarding this. After I gave birth, I wasn't attended by the hilot. I just worked as per normal. There was a time when I had to ride a tricycle every day and the road was so bumpy- I started feeling the fatigue. I felt weak no matter how I sleep and eat. To my desperation, I went home to my grandparents in Bulacan. We went to their trusted "hilot" and spiritual adviser. She touched me, starting from my hair to my hands- she had powers. She pulled my hair, massaged my arms, and the rest of my body. I felt energized and refreshed. I was so thankful and happy. She said, "Your colors are back now, your cheeks are now rosy". So I was already really so pale. Then she let me pray to the church. When we reached home, another "hilot" was already there waiting for me. I took a warm bath- the water was boiled with "atis" leaves. Then she used Ventusa on my body, to get the remaining "lamig". I asked her how she became a "hilot", she said it was a "gift". She was a breech baby. **Do you know?** **A breech baby in the Philippines is believed to possess natural healing power. They heal an affected or painful part of the body through a simple massage.** Going back to my story. So the "hilot" massaged me, I slept like a baby while she was doing it. I never felt so relieved and relaxed in my life. I didn't want the massage to end. **Hilot for those who have a fever** I am not sure why this one's only focused on people who have a fever but I did talk to someone because of my situation. Manang Vergie said she knows a "hilot" but to someone who has a fever. I didn't ask her to elaborate. **Hilot for those who have sprains** They are not physical therapist but they are good at putting your sprained ankle or arm to normal. Definitely no pain after the massage- you will only be advised to not wet the sprained part for a day. **Hilot for general massage only** You see them in massage clinics, they are the folks who will ask you, "Maam, hard, medium, or soft?". And they will clap whenever they are almost done with you. Just kidding- clapping is part of the massage. I love going to massage clinics, it was one of my stress relievers when I was working. **Do you know?** Our "hilot" can detect whether a woman is pregnant or not just by checking her pulse. Amazing, isn't it? Closing thoughts "Hilot" is already part of our culture in Bisaya. Although we go to the clinic or hospital- we prefer to go to "hilot" first because they know what to do. They give remedy to pain for very affordable or cheap fee. And we go to different "hilot" depending on the pain that we are experiencing. **I need to go to the hilot, really so I could finally use this right arm as per normal.** **Do you believe in "hilot"? Did someone introduce you to a "hilot?", how did it go? Do let me know by leaving a comment below.** Anyways, I visited my other "personality" because it was my first. I don't know what to feel anymore. I come to love this "side" of me- the witchy side and I think I'll stick to this one. What do you think? Let's learn some Cebuano! **Kamusta na ang tanan?** It means "*How is everyone?*"... Today, I am gonna be your teacher, char. And I'm gonna turn you into chalk if you're not gonna listen to me. Bitaw oi, gikapoy na ko ug ininEnglish...Mag-Binisaya sa ta karon, oki ra? Actually, ang formal na tawag sa Bisaya nga language is Cebuano. Cebuano is the most spoken language in the Philippines and the most understood. It is our **lingua franca (check the meaning** **here****)**. https://www.google.com/search?q=lingua+franca+meaning&oq=lingua&aqs=chrome.2.69i57j0i433i512l2j0i512l4j46i199i465i512j0i433i512j0i512.2959j0j9&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 But due to its complexity, we have our national language, the Filipino language which is a combination of most dialects in the Philippines. (Ingon si Grammarly I sounded like a genius). Anyways, **let's start with the basics -sugdan nato sa pinakasimple, simulan natin sa pinakasimple. Ang format ng example natin ay Cebuano- English, Tagalog.** Kamusta- How are you? -Kamusta or Kamusta ka na? Nahigugma ko nimo- I love you- Mahal kita Ambot- I don't know- Ewan ko Halok- Kiss-Halik Purtahan/Ganghaan-Door- Pinto Asa ka padulong?- Where are you going? -Saan ka papunta? Ngano?- Why? -Bakit? Pila man?/ Pila man kabouk? -How much?/how many?- Magkano?/Ilan? Aha ka nagpuyo?- Where do you live? -Saan ka nakatira? Dagan- Run- Takbo Tagam or Mirisi- Karma's got you- Buti nga sa'yo Naunsa mana sya- What's wrong with you? -Ano'ng nangyayari sa'yo? Ganahan ko nimo- I like you -Gusto kita Amigo-Friend-Kaibigan Langgam-Bird-Ibon Lamigas-Ant-Langgam **Let's have a practice:** **Ganahan ko nimo** (I like you) **kay** (because) **amigo taka** (you are my friend). **Ta**- means my **ka**- means you **Just sharing a joke (no pun intended): Sino ang mas advanced, mga Bisaya or Tagalog?** **Sagot: Bisaya** **Bakit?** **Kasi ang langgam sa mga Tagalog gumagapang pa lang, sa Bisaya lumilipad na (wewewewe)** *The baby cried and wanted me to carry her...I am exhausted already...Time check 12:48 A.M...I shall continue this later during our quiet time. See you!* So yeah, hey again, my dear friends. It is now 12:46 PM...Wow, 12 hours since my last writing. Saoirse is beside me watching Cocomelon while I am typing. I guess she has to get used to this kind of set-up once I start working. Anyways, before we continue with our lesson, let me flex my sponsors: You guys are amazing! Thank you for the support- more BCH and blessings to you! Aha na ta?- Where are we? -Asan na tayo? Manayaw ta- Let's dance- Sayaw tayo Tukar- Music-Kanta Nitukar-Starting to/Here goes- Ayan na naman sya **Example**: **Nitukar** (Here goes or starting to) na sad (**na sad**- again) **iya** (her or his) **sapot** (moody or bad mood) English: She's moody again Tagalog: Tinotopak na naman sya **Kapoy**- Tired-Pagod **Example**: **Gikapoy nakog** (I am tired of) **sinulat** (writing) **aning** (this) blog **tungod sa** (because of the) **bata** (baby). English: I am tired of writing this blog because of the baby. Tagalog: Pagod na ko sa blog na to dahil sa bata. I do hope that you learned from me today. Cebuana is a fun language to learn and believe me, you will survive going to Bisaya region if you know some terms and phrases. Bisaya people are a little naughty so beware :P Do you want to share a Cebuano term or do you want to ask the meaning of a Cebuano word? Do comment down below and I will answer you. I was supposed to publish this last night but because my baby is teething again, cried multiple times and woke up in the middle of the night for nth times hagardo versoza ang witchy nyo. Will make it up to you later, guys. Thanks for all your support. If you like me, char..I mean if you like my articles, do subscribe so you will be updated whenever I have a story to share. *Author's note: The purpose of this article is for entertainment only. I am not a professional linguist. Do research if you wanna study Cebuano further. What I shared was my stock knowledge.* *All the images were from Unsplash.com* **Balik-balik ha ;)** ©HermaniGinger
How to bewitch someone who dislikes you to like you? **Have you ever experienced that feeling that someone just doesn't like you the first time you've met? It's like you both started on the wrong foot**. I've been into that situation a lot of times. Since I am an introvert people would say that I am a snob, killjoy, or too serious. First of all, I don't get comfortable easily with strangers. I have my own circle and they don't call me a snob but crazy. I know how to make jokes and stuff. And I am fun to be with, with the right people. Anyways, have you ever tried changing that awkward situation? I did. I am good at silent persuasion- silent because I don't tell anyone how I'd persuade that person to talk to me, if not, totally like me. And I don't do this because I want everyone to like me, of course not. I just want to let that person know that I can be likable too- if she or he deserves my friendship and trust. Let's cut the chase, how do you bewitch someone who dislikes you to like you? **First, you got to be with yourself** Who likes to be with someone who pretends all the time? The Platters is the only "great pretender", my friends. **The person can feel that you're not with yourself. Don't try to please everyone. Just relax, calm down, have a presence of mind.** You don't have to talk all the time because when you do, either you offend someone or talk non-sense which is a total turn-off. **Second, talk with a sense** **I like a person who doesn't talk a lot but talks with sense.** **Do you want to be with a person who can't join a good conversation?** Either that person jokes about everything including the serious topics or just keeps his mouth shut all the time. **If you talk with sense, you might impress someone who didn't like you at first. It will make him think "This person is nice to talk to or to be with. I may have given him the wrong impression".** **Third, know the person's favorite** **It doesn't have to be just food or celebrity- know his weakness, in short. For example, if he likes a particular place and you've been there or you've researched about it, mention it in your conversation and give positive feedback.** Or if you have the same favorite songs or bands. You'll be talking about your favorites and by the time you know it, you are already friends! **Fourth, don't get too personal, yet** **If you want to be liked, know the limits between work, friendship, and personal matters.** It might make someone uncomfortable if you talk about a breakup when he or she just got separated or is having issues with their relationship. Just talk about lighter topics, don't add insult to injury. **If he or she opens up to you, then it's your chance to shine, otherwise, don't cross the boundaries.** **Fifth, be fun to be with** **Do you like to go to concerts, or have a walk to the beach? Whatever your definition of fun is, make sure it's aligned to his or her interests.** If you like opposite things, why don't you adjust and try what she or he likes? You'll never know it might be the gateway to a new hobby. **Sixth, be honest, respectful, and humble** Have you been with somebody who brags a lot? Believe me, I never had a good time and I wanted to walk out. **Be honest**- if you are not familiar with a particular topic, ask for a recommendation so you'll know more about it. This will make an impression that you are interested in what he or she is talking about. **Be respectful-** if you have different opinions on a matter, remember you want to win his or her friendship, don't get into a fight. **Be humble**- if you are an expert or know a lot about a thing, or a person, etc. talk about it with humility. **Seventh, don't ask me for a spell or potion** **You got to use your human charms to naturally bewitch someone.** If you ask me, I'll put a forgetful spell on you and you'll look funny to everyone. Please, please, just because you have a witch friend doesn't mean you can shortcut winning or changing a person's heart and mind. **Remember: the fruit of your persuasion is sweet when done right.** Believe me, those mentioned above, worked for me. You just got to be wise and smart on what to do okay? One size doesn't fit all :) I used to have a Physics teacher who didn't really like me, maybe because I look so snob and my grade suffered. So I started talking to our common friends, joined conversations in her presence, got her "kiliti" and I asked for her advice about our lessons. Everything changed after that. Of course, I remained professional- we became close but I didn't take advantage of our good relationship. **How about you? Have you persuaded someone to change their perception or impression of you? I am curious :) Let's talk about it!** *And I am sorry for my absence yesterday, I had to rest my arm and I don't know what to write, to be honest.* To my newest sponsor @Jeansapphire39 thank you so much sis for being on my block of sponsors. **Author's note: All original content unless stated otherwise. My advice is for entertainment purposes only. And all the images including the lead were from Unsplash.com** Thank you for all your support! Please like, comment, and subscribe if I found favor in your eyes. Balik-balik sad ankol ug antie ;) **March 18, 2022**

The drunken witch- an embarrassing tale **I was just logged in to the platform when I noticed that I've been tagged by dear Jelie about her** **A Drunken Night in Italy** **story and wow, I liked what I've read- drunken stories are fun which reminds me of my good ol' days when I was living in Kalayaan, in Makati.** https://read.cash/@Jelena/a-drunken-night-in-italy-3226f99b You know, I was a "*probinsyana*" and I grew up conservative. My family was torn apart by my papa's alcoholism and I swore that I'll never have even a cup of beer. But I did have my first cup of beer when I was 12 lol. I then changed my mind- I will be a responsible drinker. So let me start sharing my story. When and what was your first alcoholic drink? My first alcoholic drink was when I was 12 years old. There was a family occasion and we went to the beach to celebrate it. Everyone's having fun drinking beer and I got curious. I didn't get drunk, I just had small sips. When was the first time you got drunk? Ah, the nostalgia. I got drunk in 2013, I think. It was a night full of fun- a typical Friday or I think Saturday, we usually drink on a pay day. It all started with a shot glass of Emperador lights, and another, and another until I got addicted to the moment. Everyone was having fun, we talked about our jobs, our life before in the provinces where we came from, our friendship in the boarding house, gossiped a little. And we had revelations about our love life. I think I was heartbroken that time that's why I wanted to drink. I puked too, a lot. I could remember my closest friend, Early, bringing me to my room, putting a basin for me to vomit into, and I think, changing my clothes. When was the last time you got hammered? Hmm, tough question. I believe it was in Antipolo with my Wave 5 mates. They were my batchmate in the training when I was with Telus. We had a few bottles of beer. Oh no, the last time I got hammered was when I was having a team-building with my mates from Work With Us. I used to be a chat moderator and they wanted to have a night out. I didn't drink for more than a year so my body was shocked by the different types of alcohol. My face got swollen due to the allergy and I puked a lot. What's the most stupid or craziest thing you did under the influence? The drunker I get, the more I remember the chords of my favorite songs and the harder I play the guitar. I did have a picture of my drunk self but I couldn't find it anymore on Facebook. It would be fun to share it with you guys. You'll see how silly I looked. I also cried- I usually cry when I am drunk and then I speak English instead of Tagalog lol. If there's someone here on the platform you would like to get drunk with, who is it? Why? Tag them! I would like to be drunk with sis Dr. @Lara888 I think she can share a lot of stories about her profession and stuff, and dear @Jelena and we can talk about our teenage experiences, sis @Bloghound not sure if you drink sis but I want us to talk about our experiences of being gypsies. Sis @Jeansapphire39 so we can speak Bisaya where everyone's speaking English or Tagalog hehe.. And of course, dear sibling @Lucifer01 so you can guard us and save us from doing something crazy lol. What's your poison of choice? Wow, poison eh... How about a potion? You see, when you are under the influence of alcohol, you are under a spell. I would prefer Empi Lights because it comes with a glass of iced tea :) I also like Vodka. What's that brand or kind of alcoholic beverage that you won't like to drink again? I don't wanna drink Captain Morgan, mygad. At first, my teammates and I thought we won't be hammered but we were wrong. We were like a bunch of crazy teenagers when we finished a bottle. One was crying, the other one kept on puking in the CR, I did puke but I was still calm, my other friend kept on calling her mom while laughing. I promised myself that I will never, ever have that kind of drink again. Have you ever cried drunk? I did, especially when I was heartbroken. In Bisaya we call it "maoy". It's when you are crying because of self-pity and pain. And when I learned how to drink, I then started partying with my friends, especially the gay ones in the boarding house lol. They introduced me to "O'bar", a bar where gays and the rest of the LGBT community go for fun (either clean or not). I had the most exciting and fun experiences with them. I loved it when the gays impersonate different celebrities- I almost died laughing my heart out. But this picture that I am sharing with you was taken when we went to Padi's Point in Cubao. *"Sino'ng nakapag-Padi's na jan sa Cubao! Raise your hands"...* These gays were the best in the world. There were only 2 or 3 of us girls when we went out and they never left us, not letting us get so drunk so no one could take advantage of us. And I miss them! I wanna cry! (*Photo: Courtesy of Baby Girl or Kenn from Facebook but the shot was taken using my phone)* I wanna thank @meitanteikudo for this prompt. I am happy to share this part of my life. Please visit his article that started all this, here is the link: https://read.cash/@meitanteikudo/drunkeness-and-a-leg-fetish-94aeadeb And if you wanna join the prompt too, here are some guide questions: When and what was your first alcoholic drink? When was the first time you got drunk? When was the last time you got hammered? What's the most stupid or craziest thing you did under the influence? If there's someone here on the platform you would like to get drunk with, who is it? Why? Tag them! What's your poison of choice? What's that brand or kind of alcohol beverage that you won't like to drink again? Have you ever cried drunk? He said that you can answer some of them, or you can answer all: you can add your own alcoholic questions or you can answer a totally different set. If not, just tell us one of your drunken tales. :) Please don't forget to submit it to the community: ***Prompt Community*** so others could read it as well. https://read.cash/c/prompt-factory-1aa9 I appreciate all your support- thank you very much! **Author's note:** This article was published exclusively for read.cash. Purple-ish life! **Hello, my friends. It's been a week since I've joined here again and I am happy with the support that I am receiving. Thank you very much for the warm welcome and for pushing me to continue with my goals and aspirations in this wonderful world of blogging.** I am glad that I have a new-found sis, the beautiful and helpful doctor @Lara888 She is actually kind of like Chloe Decker- no wonder the Devil fell in love with her. Cheers to having a bottle of beer with you one day, dear doc. We're just gonna drink moderately because someone might get so mad at us. Since the dear doc published an article about loving purple which you can check here, I also realized that I am starting to love it as well. Why? Because my daughters both loved purple. Elora loved purple because of her favorite character, Aphmau. Saoirse's new favorite color is purple after she has fallen out of love with green. After evaluating my life and discovering how mystical it is, purple has connected me to the special moments and events of my existence! It's really awesome. https://read.cash/@Lara888/you-cant-guess-what-my-favourite-color-is-181d46e4 Let me show you my purple-ish life: **This was what was left of my grandma's gift after my graduation when she came home from the States a few weeks after the event. It was supposed to be a pair of Amethyst earrings and a necklace. She knew I worked so hard to maintain my grades because I was a working student but I still graduated with flying colors in college.** But the necklace was snatched and the earrings' locks got loose hence I lost the other pair. I am not promoting Silver Works here okay, friends? Just didn't have anything to put it on to. And I do wish to buy the same items in the near future. I am not good at arts and I am not sure why I love drawing flowers- maybe it's what I can only do lols. **This is one of my creations using crayon and oil pastel. I actually call this "Purple chaos" because Saoirse drew some lines in the background.** I need more practice to develop my talent if there's something to enhance :D Before I continue with the rest of my story I am proud to show you my sponsors- they are the empowered women of read.cash who are the inspiration of many people here. Thank you for believing and trusting in me my dear. Please do check them out! Now moving on... **This picture was taken last March 1 on Bam's birthday. She is now 8 years old. Here, uncle Luci @Lucifer01 is the additional pic that I was supposed to send to you.** These babies were waiting for my partner because he was still taking a bath after buying the cake. We gave them sprinkles so they won't get bored waiting lol. Sorry, had to blur my niece's face because I am not sure if her mom's comfortable posting her pic here. **See those paper fans? They're purple as well! They're so cute.** **My baby is an aspiring artist like her dada so I am giving her all the push that she needs to be good at her craft.** Look at those beautiful lines, in her abstract drawing, they are perfect purple or violet lines and dots. She was using my cray pas when she did it, she even included the mats in her artwork. Purple is a royal color and I am happy that my life is associated with it. It makes my life more meaningful and happier. **How about you? What is your favorite color? Do you believe that colors can mean anything or symbolize something?** I would love to see your comments so we can talk about them. **Author's note: All images and content are mine unless stated otherwise. I think I am perfect and my partner's bad habits "You are like this, like that"...That's what I hear from people criticizing me. If I have my wand I'd do this "Expelliarmus!" no, that was a disarming charm..."Mawala-ness sa universe-ness!", a disappearing spell which means "Vanish from the universe". Duh, "I am perfect even if I am not"...To be honest, I do think I am perfect and that is one of my most annoying habits. Perhaps I've gotten used to being perfectly alone before that's why criticism's hard to swallow. We all have bad habits, don't you think you have one? First, let's just define what a habit is: **hab·it** /ˈhabət/ *noun* **a settled or regular tendency or practice, especially one that is hard to give up.** (The definition is found here) https://www.google.com/search?q=habit+meaning&oq=habit+meaning&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i512l9.2179j1j7&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8 I wish I could tell more of my bad habits but I'd rather talk about my partner's because it is easier to talk about other people shhh...Can we keep this a secret? My partner is a good man but like the rest of you, he is not perfect. I know he tries his best but there are times that I just couldn't understand him. I could only sigh in frustration but because I love him, I have to accept those flaws. He's doing the same for me. I guess love really is a decision. His bad habits are: **Overthinking and overanalyzing** He overthinks even the smallest things. Remember the news that went viral about "lugaw" or pudding? He said "Lugaw is not essential because it is not really regular food", and I talked back, "Hon, it is essential because it is food! What if that was the only food that person could afford? We need to eat, and even if it's just pudding, it is still food". And we had a debate lol but I advised him that overthinking robs him of the smallest happiness that he could find if he won't live in the present moment. **No sense of urgency** I remember when I was pregnant, I got so thirsty. He was playing with his computer and I requested him to get me a bottle of water. He was so immersed that he forgot about me. My in-law gave me water and he only remembered me after 30 minutes. He is also not so good at beating the deadline because when he sees a flaw in a project, he prioritizes it first rather than finishing his project. **Innocent about some matters in real life** I boiled water in the electric kettle and I forgot to turn it on. It was time for me to sponge the baby and when I pour it into the basin, the water was cold. I told him that the water wasn't heated. He said that he poured it in the thermos, and I asked, "Was it smoking hot when you poured it?", he said he just put it and he didn't care whether it was hot or not. We argued and he didn't want to surrender lol. **Plays too much computer** I know him too well that I could feel his excitement and read his mind that he wants to play all day if possible. I did give him that space until I got too tired because he keeps on delaying his job applications. The kids aren't getting smaller day by day, it's the other way around. And I want us to have enough money for emergencies and all that stuff. Annoying habits, aren't they? But despite those habits, I do appreciate him because he is a good son to his parents. He is always there to support his parents by doing house chores which his mom could not do anymore. He helps her clean the house and wash the dishes, aside from the other petty stuff he needs to do. He is a good daddy to our kids. He helps Elora with her studies. He is her teacher since the pandemic started. He took care of Saoirse in the morning because I was assigned to do it at night. He does the afternoon with us. And a good employee. He is one of the bests at work, despite his weakness on the deadlines lol. He is good at calculations and analysis. I do hope he will find the perfect job for him soon. **As a partner, all I could do is remind him about those habits and push him to do better. I could only do so much everything is still up to him. I also pray for him whenever I can because I know only God can make miracles. And I am lucky because I don't have issues with fidelity.** This is my first entry into this community and I look forward to joining more in the future @JonicaBradley I strongly recommend that you participate in this writing prompt, just follow these very simple rules. **Join** the Promptly Jonica community here https://read.cash/c/promptlyjonica-b4a0 **Write** anything about **bad habits** Write 100% **original** content **Submit** your article to PromptlyJonica **Tag** @JonicaBradley https://read.cash/@JonicaBradley Have **fun!** Author's Note: The prompt is exclusively published for read.cash under the PromptlyJonice community. The new, magical adventure begins 2 years post pandemic! **"No matter how hard the past is, you can always begin again"- Buddha** I always love Buddha's quotes because they are short but straight to the heart. Anyways, I am happy that NCR is now on alert level 1. It's not because we can all go out and just do whatever we want, but I am happy for my kids, especially my eldest. She's been sad being contained in the house for too long. Now she can go out and play with her friends because they were all vaccinated as well. Of course, they still wear masks and she takes a bath after playing. **My daughter even had her very first face-to-face reading in school last Friday, March 11. I was so happy because she was able to finally go to school even for a few minutes- after two, long years. She aced reading in both English and Filipino and I am so proud!** And since everything is starting to go back pre-pandemic, I am still keeping my fingers crossed that no deadlier variant like Delta will emerge-I have started planning about my employment as well. **Do you know that there was an Omicron sub-variant but we were able to avoid the fast transmission because the majority followed the health protocols? So good job Pilipinas.** It's time to move on, really. Despite the challenges and difficulties we've faced during the pandemic, life should continue, go on. In my part, I need to prepare for my retirement, my financial responsibilities, and my children's future. The pandemic shouldn't have stopped us from doing so but I had just given birth. Now that the youngest is almost 2, I am back to my grinding spirit again. It's a new adventure- my wand, my broomstick, my hat is all ready for the challenge. **What I am doing right now is I am studying an Amazon VA (Virtual Assistant) course which I got for free.** Yes, for free! It's just a short course but it's okay because I already have the experience in Amazon Seller environment. I just need to check if there's something new I need to learn and of course, it's an added training experience on the resume. I am now on day 2 of training. It's self-study and the lesson is sent via email. Cool, isn't it? Why do I want the Amazon VA course? Because I won't have to take calls and I earn much in just 4 hours a day. My visions? Earning 100k PHP a month working in just 4 hours a day Going to the beach with my family where I can both work and have fun Becoming a digital nomad- living the life that I love doing what I want Being financially able Giving back to my family and the environment **I also saw programming and social media management for less than 100 pesos, like what?** OMG, I wanna have those too! But I don't want to be overwhelmed so I'm gonna start with the Amazon VA course first. And my Google Analytics certificate is going to expire in October, I gotta study again. I am really excited about getting back on track. It may sound easy but it's not given the fact that I am a full-time mom. This pandemic has made me a little lazy about working again but we got to grind for the future right? Laban lang. I wasn't born a millionaire so I need to make a million myself :) I can't wait to learn more about the Amazon VA course. I will share my knowledge here of course and if you need help with some VA courses or any other courses you want to study, let me know I might be able to refer to some websites and stuff. Closing thoughts I am not gonna forget how hard the pandemic has been- I will remember all the lessons it brought and they will serve as my guide in reaching my goals. My light and inspiration will be my family, especially my kids. I will bring with me, the backpack of hope, the bottle of perseverance, the food of wisdom, the torch of faith, and the blanket of love along with my witch stuff in this new adventure. **Did you grow up with a grandma or grandmas? Have you experienced the stress and traumas?** Lol. Kasi we have generation gap with our grannies and you know, sometimes they just want us to do what they want us to do and we cannot even ask "Why?", if you do, they cannot even explain and will just answer, "Just do as I say!"...Tayo naman, dahil mga Pinoy tayo, pinalaking "*magalang, wag kang bastos, sumunod ka na lang walang mawawala sayo*", ganerms. So sige, opo na lang ng opo. **But I know there are lola's pets here**. Aww, I envy you. I never became a pet because I was hardheaded and I always talk back. That was so bad of me. But despite being a *pasaway*, I have remembered some of their advice by heart. Masama sya kasi masisira yung karayom. I figured out why, kasi may fog na or mahamog na sa hapon. Siyempre, if palagi mong ginagawa, magkakaron ng problema yung ipin at gums mo at in the long run, masisira sya at mahuhulog. Siguro dahil International Women's Day. Salute sa mga lola! Maraming salamat po sa inyong pagmamahal at sakripisyo. _________________________________________________ **Nais ko ding magpasalamat sa aking bagong sponsor na si sis** @yhanne Salamat sis sa supporta. The kinds of magic that you have but you may have forgotten🌟🌟 I wonder if there's really a school for witchcraft. Don't you think there is? I am a witch but I don't use potions or spellbooks. I only whisper and then magic does the rest. *Charottt..Wag po kayo maniwala. Kumain lang ako ng cheese burger at hayon nagiba na ihip ng hangin.* Anyways, how are you doing? Is it hot in your part of the world? It is here in Northern Manila- while the people in Mindanao are praying for the rain to stop. I just wish they can share the rain with us. Perhaps I can use my power to do that ✨🌟 People have been studying magic throughout the centuries. Some were called wizards, witches, warlocks, sorcerers, etc. But there's no proof that they really exist. Maybe they do but why weren't they exposed? Some are desperate to use spells to bewitch a person they admire or like, consult a fortune teller whether or not their dreams are coming true. We wish for the magic to get our innermost desires and the dreams that we so long for yet we are unaware that there are kinds of magic that are already within us waiting to be used, given away, or shown. We resort to outside factors where in fact, we are magic itself. What am I talking about? Let me show you: The magic of your smile The smile is one of the most magical gestures someone can give- for free, which is priceless. It doesn't take a lot of effort to do it as well. Who knows your smile can change a persons else's mind who wanted to take his life or do something bad? Do not underestimate what the magic of your smile can do so give it to people often. The magic of kindness In this world of full chaos, being kind is a rare trait. Don't let your kindness fade because of people's harshness. There's still good in everyone so continue believing that a simple act of kindness can make a great difference. Don't stop. The magic of being helpful I can see that a lot of people nowadays are becoming more helpful, not only towards their fellowmen but towards the animals and the environment as well. We all need to help each other, especially whenever disasters come. If we can't give monetary or financial assistance, physical help or prayers can do. You can help in your own little way. The magic of being thoughtful We became too busy that we oftentimes forget anniversaries, birthdays, monthsaries, etc. Would it be nice if we drop a message to a friend or a parent just to say hi or hello, or how are you? It only takes a minute to do so. If you wanna take it to the next level, send a flower or a card to someone you care about. You'll definitely make his day. The magic of being genuine Being true, authentic, genuine is a brave attitude. Who loves pleasing other people, who are afraid to say no? They're not being true to themselves- being brave to show who you are, what you stand for, is good. People who won't accept you for who you are aren't meant to be in your life. But those who see you are real will definitely appreciate you. So always be true especially to yourself. The magic of being understanding It is hard to be understanding especially when it comes to difficult and different people- do so anyway. It's not always that people as understanding as you exist in this world. Be a beacon of peace and respect. Having an open mind will save you from a lot of trouble. The magic of being generous Generosity is not so common nowadays as well. Some people expect something in return whenever they lend a hand. When you are generous- you will help with all your heart whether or not that person can pay you back. You know how it feels to have nothing and have no one else when you were in need. The magic of generosity will be remembered by those lives you've touched and believe me, the blessing will be returned to you a thousand fold. That is the law of karma. The magic of love This is the most powerful magic of all because love heals, forgives, saves, renews, gives hope. Love doesn't judge and understands- it embraces all faults and sees its perfect imperfections. It sacrifices and is self-less. When you love, everything is happy and light. So love as if you'll never love again. Wrapping Up These are the magic that I wanted to point out. You don't have to become a mutant or a witch. **The real magic is your heart, the wonderful YOU.** It might seem impossible to be the magic that you wanted to be everyday, just try your best and soon you will be and do magic effortlessly. ________________________________________________ I hope you like what you've read today and if you do, you may **subscribe** as well so you will be notified whenever I have new stories. Women that I look up to (International Women's Day article) Being a woman isn't easy because of the role that society has shaped for us. I remember those times when my grandma would tell us stories about how women should act, their responsibilities in the household, and the limitations set by their conservative families. Women before were perceived as weak, helpless, sometimes, hopeless. That's why some married at such a young age because they can't tend for themselves. But time has evolved. Women now are fierce, strong, bold, unafraid to speak their minds. We now have a place in society, fight for fairness and equality in the workplace and in politics. Women believe that leadership knows no gender. Since it's International Women's Day, I wanna share with you these women that I look up to. They inspired me to become who I am today. Mama Baby My mother married when she was 17 despite her family's advice not to. She didn't finish her studies but she did her best in raising us. I thank her for her genes because she passed her intelligence to us. She was a hardworking mom who loves music. She has a wonderful voice, is a graceful dancer, and good guitarist. My grandma Galo I look up to her because she believes in good education. She supported our family, extended help to our relatives that wanted to finish their studies. She only wanted one thing- to give back to the family. She is so generous and she spoils those who she thinks is deserving of it. She won't ask something in return because she's doing it out of pure love. My aunt Rizalyn She is for me, the role model when it comes to discipline. I hated to be reprimanded when I was a kid but I remember everything that she taught me. Whenever we watch movies, she would sermon us when the situation fits in real life. She always made sure we could relate. She was tough but she was also generous. Now she has successful daughters and son- my favorite cousins because we grew up together. Sister Aberilla I forgot her name but I couldn't forget her last name. She was so sweet and kind. She was selfless and devoted to doing her duties. She was a Catholic nun and I knew her during my elementary days. I looked up to her as a woman of faith, she was so perfect for me. She was the reason why I wanted to serve the Church and I see good in everyone. She made us join Flores de Mayo every summer. My classmates Rowena and Carolyn We were close friends way back in high school and we all came from poor families. I lost my connection with them when we were in college but the 2 stayed connected. Funny, we all became single moms but found good partners. These women became leaders and established their own businesses. They got the guts and determination to rise from poverty and chase success. They endured all the hardships and are now enjoying the fruits of their hard work. I am so proud of these girls. read.cash women I look up to these women here, who for me, are all wonderful and amazing: **Sis FarmGirl**- Who shares her everyday stories about her kingdom, her love life which I learned the most, her love of gardening. Thanks, sis CJ. **Sis Bloghound**-Who is very straightforward, a fighter, a mom, who is so busy taking care of her household and yet, never forgets to support whoever needed one. **Dear Talecharm**-Whom I admire her positivity in life despite all the difficulties and challenges she's been through. **Dear Coqui**- A friend from Venezuela who also gives us inspiration about her life as a parent, a pet lover, and a crypto enthusiast. **Doctor Lara**- I only knew her recently but her support to me is also amazing. Thanks to dear Devil. **Dear Jelena**- She cried when she thought that I won't be here anymore and wanted to communicate even in Telegram. I treasure you, my friend. **Sis Jean and Usagi**- Yes, JeanSapphire39 my friend. How could I forget when you worried about me because of my...(kabalo na ka di na ta magsaba)...Thank you for all the help you extended along with dear Usagi. Closing thoughts There are a lot of good souls here in read and I wish I could mention all of you. Please accept my warmest thank you for everything you do. The read.cash women are all amazing, special, and they all rock differently :) Remember: you are a woman. The house could not be called a home without your guiding light. You are the compass of your children, their strength whom they hold on to, you are needed, you are loved. And the world will never be the same without you, WOMAN. WOMEN- without W- it will be an **omen**- which means a bad sign Without WO- it will only be men- **wo** (or often spelled as woe)- means sorrow or grief (yourdictionary.com) https://www.yourdictionary.com/wo **See? Some of my not-so-many firsts here in read.cash! How are you, amigo? I hope Monday hasn't taken the toll on you yet, there are still a few more days before the weekend again. Just realized how nice it is to share about my many firsts here. Do you still remember the first time you see that red notification bell stating you got a tip from the bot or an upvote from your very first supporter? It's awesome, do you agree? I couldn't believe my eyes when I realized that the fruition of my hard work has already started. I know there will be a lot to encounter, to learn, to remember but the firsts have given me hope. My journey on this platform is getting exciting. **Greg Owen said, "There's a first time in everything"** so I'm gonna share with you my many firsts here: **My first article "The Philippines is the most powerful country in the world"** This is actually an article containing the reasons why my country is powerful. It wasn't a serious column, just something light for people to laugh about. I should have published it on the Filipino Readers community but there wasn't an option to do so. A lot couldn't relate. But I am glad I did it anyway because that first one opened the door of my confidence that inspired me to write succeedingly. **My first supporter was the Devil Lucifer01** Who doesn't know this angelic Devil? He is one of the soft-hearted people I know. I bet he cries whenever he sees injustice even to a fly. He said that he will be fully supporting me, sweet...Thank you very much my dear sibling. I promise you that I will do the same to the rest of the newbies here as well. **And why would I forget about my first 2 sponsors? My soul sisters and friends Bloghound and Talecharm.** Bloghound laughed about my first article about the Marites as part of the unbeatable intelligence team of the Philippines. I guess I caught her weakness hence she decided to support me- maraming salamat po. And dear Talecharm- wow, you charmed me through the positivity of your stories. I am honored as well to be sponsored by you. **Who are the first people to welcome me here in my introductory post? These 5 amazing souls!** They are the **Devil Luci, sirs Unity and TengoLoToDo, and sisters FarmGirl and Jeansapphire39**. I was already welcomed in my first article but I also would like to mention these guys because I felt their warm and genuine support. **And I have my first 12 subscriptions in the first 5 days of my life here!** It is never easy to grow a following- some aspiring influencers would create stuff just to gain some but here, I am overwhelmed! Thank you very much once again. I am not an expert writer but you guys have given me the fire to create unique content. I wish to serve you original and unforgettable ones. **To the first 12- I am lucky to have you.** My impression: Well, my first impression with read.cash is it's a rare community- talking about the people. They are just so full of positivity. I have been to different blogging platforms and I felt alone most of the time, here? I feel like I am a part of a team- a family. And I have read some articles here, most of the members call each other sis or bro, dear, my friend...The culture is so friendly and laid back. There are a lot of great authors and I didn't see any competition. Maybe there is but I am sure, it's a healthy one. Everyone is contributing something unique to the platform. Everyone plays an important role here. And everyone is intelligent and competitive. The knowledge that I found here is like a treasure chest and I can't wait to discover each one. I also don't have to go anywhere to learn trading and stuff. Getting inspiration and information is just clicks away. Simply amazing. Mind-blowing. Closing thoughts: I am happy to be a member of read.cash because I have finally found a thriving community. I know I have a lot to learn and I need to unlearn as well so I could fully absorb all the knowledge that I need. I will observe the platform's best practices, follow the rules so I could stay here much longer. And I know I will get all the answers I needed if I have doubts about whether I am doing the right thing or not. **My first days here are awesome and I want it that way forever. I can't wait to experience the rest of my firsts here.** How about you? What was your first impression of the platform and of the members of this community? Let's chat! _________________________________________________ You can also check my other articles here: My magic should've worked but https://read.cash/@HermaniGinger/my-magic-shouldve-work-but-8f4d4344 Learning Aussie terms https://read.cash/@HermaniGinger/lets-learn-some-slang-and-a-little-bit-of-everything-about-australia-128b1a57 Cece and the Little Star https://read.cash/@HermaniGinger/cece-and-the-little-star-fb55d55e Changing our educational system is the key to move forward https://read.cash/@HermaniGinger/changing-our-educational-system-is-the-key-to-move-forward-a613bcd4 The Philippines is the most powerful country in the world https://read.cash/@HermaniGinger/the-philippines-is-the-most-powerful-country-in-the-world-107708a2 **Authors note:** **This story is original and exclusively published to read.cash- all rights reserved. Changing our educational system is the key to move forward Wow, the bot has visited me! Hello, awesome read.cash community! I do think the bot was either curious about me hence he gave me some tips or my magic worked. Thank you very much, my dear! I can't imagine finally having some BCH, experiencing it, and hopefully sharing more about it in the near future. Anyways, I was watching the SMNI debate a few nights ago with my partner and father-in-law and I was surprised about the situation of our country in its many aspects. I stopped being concerned about the Philippines a long time ago because it was stressful. Haha. There were several candidates who joined the debate and I am really stunned by how graceful and composed Mr. Carl Balita was despite being his first time doing such in front of the national television. If you don't know, he owns the Carl E. Balita Review Centre and has helped thousands of aspiring teachers to pass the licensure exam. He was right about education as the key to changing the Philippines for the better. The country should move forward, remember the lessons of the past, and do better at the present for the future. We are no longer under feudalism where we have lords telling us what to do and we blindly follow. We are now free, independent, and democratic. We have issues with corruption, food security, health, military, economy, insurgency, etc. and Mr. Balita asserted that these can be changed if our citizens are well educated. I agree, especially with the upcoming election, voters' education is very important because the political leaders we elect are going to shape our country's present and future. I did make some observations about our past and current educational system. Learning should not stop- we should educate not only our students but also our citizens. We really need to move forward and be competitive. We have to keep up with the demands of the times if we want to progress. And in my personal opinion, here are the ways on how our educational system should be changed: Teaching children the right conduct and values at home first The parents should be educated about the rights of a child The school should teach moral and good manners to 3-6 years old kids Education should be accessible to remote areas The schools and the church can go hand-in-hand in teaching spirituality and religion The curricula in colleges should be re-evaluated if they are still relevant to the demands of the workforce industry Teaching children the right conduct and values at home first This has been long forgotten by the parents- everything starts at home. I do think the government can come up with some programs for the parents to remind them about this. Also, the parents should not pass the burden to the teachers and blame them for their children's bad behavior. This is where responsible parenting lies. Parents should show love and respect to their kids- the kids should believe and feel that they are loved and wanted. If there are cases of child abuse, perhaps the LGU can assess whether a family can stop it and continue providing support to their children, if not, then Social Welfare can take over. We really need to strengthen our morality if we really want change. The parents should be educated about the rights of a child I was teaching my daughter about the rights of a child the other day. I am pretty sure she didn't fully appreciate it because she's just a kid. But the parents should know them first hand: The right of the child to be born and have a name The right to have shelter and family The right to education The right to develop his or her talent The right and freedom to play Awareness of these rights will definitely alleviate abuse. The school should teach moral and good manners to 3-6 years old kids For me, kids can easily learn the alphabet and the numbers but it will take time for them to remember what is right and wrong. Why not teach them at an early age? Our world already has a lot of intelligent people but they lack understanding about their own self, their surrounding, the animals, nature- they are becoming apathetic. They should be allowed to play freely with other kids so they'll learn to socialize, empathize, be compassionate, kind, and understanding. Schools and parents nowadays only want their kids to bring home the medals and trophies- we are better than that, let's produce not only intelligent citizens but emotionally and socially smart as well. Education should be accessible to remote areas This has been a challenge ever since. We saw teachers going to far-flung areas crossing rivers, walking for miles, using their own money just to reach their students. They are dedicated to serving the young minds but those who are in authority weren't aware or turned a blind eye on the matter. We are now in a digital age, we can do so much better! Let's help our educators bring the torch of education to our kids by supporting them in their cause- physically, financially, emotionally. I have seen several people donating printers to the educators- we have already begun the war against ignorance and let us keep the fire burning. The schools and the church can go hand-in-hand in teaching spirituality and religion Whether we are religious or spiritual- it does make a great impact on how a person behaves. One thing that I am thankful for, my mother introduced me to Higher Power or God. The holy fear that I have is my weapon whenever I am tempted to do something against my values. Integrity is Godliness. How can we expect our kids to be good and upright when they grow up when they do not learn the importance of honesty and integrity? Let us shape our children to always do what's right and that their actions will always have consequences. The church is an important factor in shaping the overall being of our kids- let us consider a church that walks the talk. There is no perfect church, I know, but we are smart enough to determine what's good or not for our kids and I'll leave that to you. The school- whether Catholic or not, can integrate spirituality and religion in one of the classes or come up with whatever program that could develop their students' spirituality with consideration to different religions. The curricula in colleges should be re-evaluated if they are still relevant to the demands of the workforce industry I have observed that some subjects in our school before were already outdated or obsolete. What kind of graduates would they produce if the subjects are not relevant anymore? They will either be forced to take any jobs available and not practice what they've studied so hard for. We have to make sure that we are able to answer the demands of the labor industry. Currently, there are a lot of jobs available but there are also a lot of unemployed because the skills and talent do not fit. Some go abroad to also get better jobs with better pay, the result- brain drain. Quality education will produce better graduates with good-paying jobs or potential businessmen that will surely help lift the economy. Summing it up Education is the key to addressing most of our country's issues and it all starts at home. Responsible parenthood is very important because family is the basic unit of society- parents are the first teachers of their kids. The government should continue educating its citizens from parenthood to the rights of a child to voter's education, etc. We should not stop educating our citizens because ignorance of the law and other matters is not an excuse. Do you agree that the education system in our country needs to be amended, updated, and changed? Let me know by leaving a comment down below. **P.S. I don't have any intention to start a debate or whatsoever.** _________________________________________________ I am happy to announce that someone believed in me and that is a newfound friend and an inspiration @Talecharm who is my second sponsor. Cece and the little star ⭐ Kids love storytelling. It develops their imagination and sparks their curiosity and fascination. Last night, I find it so difficult to put my little daughter to sleep so I needed to make a story. She doesn't want me to read books, since she's just a toddler, she plays with the books instead. So I thought of this story. Here it goes: Once upon a time, there was a girl named Cece. She always plays late at night. Her mother did everything she can to put her to bed. She refused to do so. "Baby, mommy is already tired. Your teddy says he's sleepy. Would you like to sleep now?", mommy Jellie sweetly asks Cece. "Momm momm, no no"...Cece answers mommy. She cannot fully speak yet because she's just a year and 8 months old. But you could see her cute face sending a clear message of defiance. Mommy Jellie yawns in surrender. It was already midnight but this little girl is still running around, picking up toys, throwing them around. She didn't know that she was being watched from afar. "I can't take this, it makes me really sad seeing mommy in her pitiful condition. The lonelier I get, the dimmer I become", Twinkie, the star told the moon. "What's your plan?", the curious moon asked. "Send me down please", Twinkie begged the moon. And the moon did as she requested. "Achoooo", the moon gave a loud sneeze blowing Twinkie away, to the place where Cece lives. The little star landed on Cece's bed. "Stahhh stahhh", Cece was pointing to the little star. She went to her mommy with the little star on her little palm. "What is that again baby?", mommy asked Cece. "Stahh stahhh", the baby replied. Mommy was stunned upon seeing the little star's face. "Please don't be afraid, mommy Jellie. My name's Twinkie. I am Cece's star. I came down to tell you that I am sad because she sleeps too late. I might lose my sparkle if she keeps on doing it", Twinkie revealed. "I am sorry, our little star. I will do my best to put her to sleep earlier next time. We will make sure she follows the schedule. We don't want that to happen to you!", Mommy promised. Mommy told Dudie Vince about their encounter with the little star. Twinkie didn't go back to the sky yet because she needs to be bright enough to float and fly. It wasn't easy for Cece's parents to make the necessary changes but they are willing to do everything for Twinkie and Cece. So they make sure Cece plays a lot during the daytime, eats enough food, and takes her afternoon naps strictly as scheduled. Cece's health improves and Twinkie shines brighter than ever. After a week... "I can go back to the sky now! Thank you very much!", Twinkie exclaims. "No Twinkie, thank you. If you didn't go down, we won't know Cece's health has been deteriorating. Sleeping early helped her recover. Now she's healthier", Mommy thanks Twinkie. "How can you go back to the sky?", Dudie Vince asks. "Just sing "Twinkie twinkie little star", Twinkie requested. And so Cece started singing "Tinkie, tinkie lil stahhh how a wondah wacha ah"...And then...Zaapppp...Twinkie flew... "You're back! How did it go?", the moon excitedly asks Twinkie. Although she already knew the answer. "It was the nicest experience of all!", while Twinkie was telling the moon everything about Cece and her family when suddenly..."Mooooo!", a huge cow jumped over the moon... -**The end**- Wrapping up We, as parents, should find a way for how our kids could balance sleeping and playing time because imbalance could affect their health and overall being. It shouldn't take a star to come down from a sky before a parent realizes that. Parenting is difficult, and we do need all the help we can get :) By the way, did you like the story so far? As a parent, did you encounter the same challenge when it comes to putting babies to sleep? What did you do? Have you made an original story for your child as well? What's the title? Can't wait to read your comments! ________________________________________________ I would like to thank my very first sponsor @Bloghound for giving me a try. Let's learn some slang and a little bit of everything about Australia! Australia is one of my dream countries because it is one of the most interesting and culturally diverse countries in the world. **"The Land Down Under"** is just below the Philippines. It may be topographically larger than the Philippines but it has lesser people because most of its land is a bush where wild animals thrive. **Did you know that its first settlers are called the Aborigines?** They are the indigenous tribe in Australia. They are being protected and preserved by the government. My father-in-law said that these people go to the malls and could just take whatever they want for free. Wow, I wish I were an Aborigine. Australians are one of the nicest people in the world. They value work-life balance and they know their rights. If you wanna know more about Australia, especially its humble beginnings, I suggest that you listen to one of my favorite songs, "I am Australian". I still get teary-eyed whenever I hear this music. Here is the song: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pL_JvhfQjms https://www.youtube.com/watch?reload=9&v=pL_JvhfQjms Before we start with our lesson, most Aussies would say "G'day mate!" as a greeting. It just simply means "good day" and the mate means "friend". Oh, the lesson has already started. Alrighty fellas, here are some Aussie slang. You'd definitely laugh at some point: **Shiela**- a term used for a girl Example: She is a beautiful Shiela. **Lad**- a young man or a boy Example: What a great lad he is. **Maccas or Mackers**- McDonald's Example: Would you like to go to Mackers for a brekky? **Brekky**- the first meal of the day or breakfast Example: What did you have for brekky? **Arvo**- means afternoon Example: Good arvo mate, we are going out today. **Barbie**- short for barbeque Example: Are you joining us for a barbie this arvo? **Chook**- chicken **Croc**- crocodile **Crook**- sick **Sunnies**- eyeglasses **Thongs**- slippers/sandals **Bathers**- swimsuit **Thunderbox/loo**- comfort room *I guess these examples are easy to remember and there's no need to show how they are being used in a sentence.* And before we go on to the next part- did you know that the northwestern tip of Tasmania on the Cape Grim Peninsula has the cleanest air in the world? It makes Australia more interesting. You can check it further here. https://www.businessinsider.com/tasmania-has-cleanest-air-in-world-2019-3#:~:text=The%20northwestern%20tip%20of%20Tasmania,is%20as%20pollution%20levels%20rise. If you want to imitate their accent so you'd be like a true blue Aussie, there will always be an 'r' after the words that are pronounced with Os and As at the end, like: **Hellor (Hello), Anner (Anna)! How are you?** **Tanyer (Tanya), you are freaking me out.** I **knowr**(know) right. **And here are some idioms that are commonly used in Ozzy as well as their meanings:** **Good on ya**- it means congratulations or when someone is happy with what you did Example: You got a baby girl? Good on ya mate. **Not impressed**-it is an expression of disappointment Example: You're late, I am not impressed mate, I am not impressed. **Bit of a hiccup**- had a challenge or something went wrong Example: G'day mate. The barbie's not gonna happen today, I got a bit of a hiccup at home. **Fair dinkum**- good or excellent Example: He deserved the award, fair dinkum. **Woop woop**- somewhere far, or remote, or in the middle of nowhere Example: My love life is a woop woop and I am totally lost. **Should you wish to learn more about Aussie slang and idioms, check this** **link****.** https://ielts.com.au/australia/prepare/article-australian-slang-words-phrases **Just some additional trivia:** Australia's national anthem is "God save the Queen". The Sydney Opera House was inspired by the animal cockatoo. Their wild dogs are called dingos. There are more kangaroos than people in Australia. (And I was shocked that Aussies eat kangaroos when I watched Masterchef Australia) Wrapping Up Australia is definitely one of a kind. Its unique and interesting terms and idioms are proof that they are rich in history and literature. I do hope that I could go to Australia one day and if that happens, the first spot that I would visit is Uluru. Was this article helpful? I hope that you have learned some Aussie slang and you can use them when you talk to an Aussie friend or customer. And please let me know down in the comments if you have been to Australia or if you have an Aussie term that you want to share🤗 **And if you'd like what you've read, please subscribe to my profile so you will be notified whenever I have new publications.** The lead image was from Unsplash.com ****Author's Note******: All rights reserved for this noob witch. My magic ✨ should've work but... Abrakadabra, galamay ni Lazada! I published my first article here yesterday titled The Philippines is the most powerful country in the world and only one read it probably because not all of the people in the community I joined could totally relate 😹 I was embarrassed. But there's always a first time in everything, right? https://read.cash/@HermaniGinger/the-philippines-is-the-most-powerful-country-in-the-world-107708a2 I believe in magic, within ourselves, in the Universe, in everything around us. But before I could tell you more about it, I wanna give you a brief introduction about myself. I promise I won't bewitch you. I am just totally new in the world of witchcraft, my potions and spells rarely work. So who am I? I am Hermani Ginger, I am Hairy Potter's best friend but I am not Ron Weasley's partner. I am totally from a different world. On a serious note, my sibling the Devil @Lucifer01 pushed me to write in this platform. He said I should give this a try, why not? Who dares to refuse the Devil's suggestion? He told me that I deserve to be happy. Thank you, dearie. I shall send you my thank you letter, I am just waiting for my owl to deliver it to you. I am just like you, trying my luck in this big, wide, world. I am trying to prove something to myself- that I can write and I can spread the magic. I am not a great nor a professional writer but I shall do my best to entertain you, share my experiences and life lessons with you, and be kind and supportive to everyone here. Now, would you like to welcome me and wish me well? Hermani, tell us something more about yourself! I am a gypsy- I love traveling and meeting people despite my shyness. I like people who are old souls, empaths, who are compassionate, who love to be of service to others. People who have conquered a lot of battles in this life, who are proud enough to show their scars, reveal their hearts to me. Who are not afraid to express themselves through their creative writings, their adventurous spirits- for I will never judge them. We all have our parts to share- so I wanna learn from you as well. And I shall listen with an eager ear, a broad mind, and with humility. What do I think about read.cash? From what I'm seeing, this is a good community. I've explored different blogging websites, some are too commercialized with those unwanted pop-ups, some are too broad for me that it became a challenge to build rapport with the members, some were too technical- believe me, I tried my best to become a technical writer- I guess it is not my forte or the niche isn't just my cup of tea. Maybe read.cash is my cup of coffee. Expresso or latte or 3N1, it doesn't matter. I am looking forward to unlearning, re-learning. I am excited about the surprises, for the discoveries that I'm gonna have here. The start of an awesome and life-changing adventure is now! I shall use my wand and my cape. Well, do I need them here? I guess not. I could just write from the heart where all the magic there is. Write the content of my soul. Unravel the mysteries of my imaginative mind and see where it will lead me. You a Filipina Hermani? Yes, po, opo. I mentioned my first article and my spell that contained Lazada. I am a member of this beautiful team or family called "budol" where we buy stuff from Lazada or Shopee whenever there is 3.3 or 6.6 or Payday sale. *Pure-blooded Filipina po ang inyong abang lingkod.* And just like the rest of the Filipinas, I know FB and TikTok. I live in NCR, in the northern part of Metro Manila. I just wanna remain mysterious for now. Char... That is all about myself. Do you wanna ask me something that is not on my resume? Charot... Now, could I ask you these: How do I become successful here? I already know the do's and dont's but is there something else that you want to add? I shall see you in my next article ;) https://read.cash/@HermaniGinger/the-philippines-is-the-most-powerful-country-in-the-world-107708a2#i-shall-see-you-in-my-next-article And if you like what you've read please like and subscribe. The Philippines is the most powerful country in the world The conflict between Ukraine and Russia is the talk of the century. It has already surpassed the pandemic, in my personal opinion. I was browsing through my social media newsfeed and I saw a comment stating that Russia has strong military power and nuclear weapons that could wipe out the entire Earth in less than 24 hours. Can you imagine that? Who would dare to stand against that country? If you're not familiar with the Philippines, it is an Asian country that was used to be called "Archipelago de San Lazaro", and is also called the "Pearl of the Orient". It has more than 7,000 islands. Its 3 biggest islands are Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. It has been conquered and colonized by the Spaniards, Americans, and Japanese. While the first-world countries are busy with their own issues, the Philippines is slowly but surely rising on the ranks when it comes to its military power. It has recruited thousands of police and army men and women, purchased high-powered ammunition, fighter jets, military planes and helicopters, and vessels. Do you know that aside from its army, navy, and air force, it owns several entities exclusively that could help during the war? You might have never heard of them yet so let me share the secret with you: Keyboard warriors -60M What country has the most number of keyboard warriors? The Philippines- we have millions of them. They can attack anywhere- from Facebook to Twitter They can wage war online, flood or spam you, and even mass report your account. They come in hundreds and could wipe out your newsfeed in just a few minutes. Aswangs and manananggals- 25,000 Tremble in fear. No air force can defeat our "aswangs" that pretend to be crows or bats and our "mananggals" who fly without their lower body. They are strong and fierce and cannot be killed by ordinary bullets. They also do not get tired and don't need any fuel to power up blood or flesh maybe that is what they need. Encantadia Sangre- 11 They have "Encanto" blood with gems containing the power of the 5 elements of the world namely water, fire, earth, wind, and quintessence. With these alone, the Philippines is already unstoppable and invincible. Darna-1 Darna only swallows one stone but she is powerful. She can run fast, carry heavy things, and bullet proof. She definitely can face a number of battalions before she goes back to being an ordinary girl. Krystala-1 If Darna is tired, Krystala can replace her in the battle. She owns the most unique crystal in the world, not even Thanos knows it. She can definitely fight without stopping. Captain Barbel-1 The Philippines' most handsome hero. He likes going to the gym to flex his muscles but he always comes to the rescue. He is one to watch out for in the battlefield. Agimat-1 He is not an "aswang" but he can take any animal forms. He is also strong and he defends those who are doing right. He is a strong addition in our military. Ricardo Dalisay-1 This man has been killed a thousand times yet he kept on surviving. He has already faced numerous enemies, brave, and already befriended death. He has surpassed the cat who only got 9 lives. He definitely could take down battalions. Joaquin Bordado-1 If Cardo Dalisay needs a partner, Joaquin is the best candidate. He has excellent martial art and combat skills. He also has a power- his tattoo which comes to life if he needs aid. Panday-1 Panday is one of our legendary heroes in the Philippines. He is a handsome lad who owns a powerful sword destined to defeat Lizardo, the lord of the darkness. He is courageous, loving, and helpful. He loves unconditionally. Our Panday can protect us from our enemies, no doubt. (Panday means carpenter) Marites-10M The Marites have the most powerful mouth ever, it can spread gossip from here to abroad. They are also very intelligent. They think like investigators and speak like newscasters. They are always up to date. The Philippines has the fastest and unbeatable intelligence unit in the whole world. These are the proof that despite being a third-world country, The Philippines is powerful. In fact, it is a legend. What country, do you think, is as powerful as The Philippines?
